Wig Care Tutorial - Roller Set A Synthetic Wig - Drag

In this video I show you how I detangle a freshly washed synthetic wig and do a roller set using velcro rollers (these ones were a a pound or so for 8 from Primark, but most beauty supply stores will have similar.)

I used tiny dressmaking pins to secure the rollers in this video, I have since bought a load of t-pins and long pearl head pins which make it so much easier to do. I also used a polystyrene head, I now have a canvas wig block but this is a personal choice.

After this rollerset, I steamed the wig using a kettle and a plastic bag, you can see this video here:

Hey guys today, I'm going to show you how I roll a set, my wigs for steaming. I have a separate video on steaming which you can watch by clicking the link in the corner. This video is going to be quite simple. I don't think I'll talk too much. I'Ve sped it all up so that you can see the entire process more or less pinning the wig lace front to the head, and I just pin it very sporadically. Nothing special just to kind of be able to brush out the lace line of the hair. On the lace line a little bit more securely and then setting up into rollers, I'm using velcro rollers, I bought mine in Primark and I think they were super cheap. You can get them cheaply from drugstores or from I think. Even boots will do them and hairdressing supply shops will sell them as well, and now I'm just detangling the front for the where the lace is basically where the hair is coming out of the lace, because the lace is more delicate than the rest of the week. I always do that to the very end before I set the rollers in this wash this wash this way you had just been washed and had a few tangles and knots in it, which is why I'm going through it with my hairdryer and a brush before hand, If you want to see this technique fully, I have another video for that as well for blow-drying and straightening a wig using the same oil sheen spray that I'm using here, you can click the link in the corner for that one as well, and now I'm just Combing through to get myself ready to start rolling and I use different rolling patterns depending on what kind of effect I wanted on this one. I just wanted a a loose kind of curl, a little bit of a wave and a bit of volume at the top, and especially at the front. So that's why I'm going in diagonally with the first rollers to kind of not get too much of a market line from the rollers, but also to make sure the girls go in a nice direction. I'M securing with dressmaking pins and my sections are quite large again. I just wanted a bit of volume and a bit of wave rather than a tight curl. That'S why I'm using the larger rollers and quite large sections of hair and when it's all rolled up I'm going to steam it using the method I seen in my last video, so I might just shut up now and let it play if you have any questions Or comments you can always use the comment field below or send me a message or whatever you like. In fact, my brushes and rollers and clips everything I bought in Primark. I think I spent about 15 pounds on the rollers and the brushes and the clips in total, I'm using a couple of clips to keep the rollers in as well, which you will see, and this week has very soft hair. It'S a slight ombre. It'S a very soft soft hair in this wig and it takes curl quite nicely. I think I have three or four of this style wig and I believe this one is one of the older ones that it is the tips of the hair. Oh they're, getting a little bit ratty, but as long as it's nice and curled up and the oil machines very helps up as well, so I'm just plowing through sectioning as I go. I guess I could have made this video much shorter if I'd just cut a few elements out of it, but hey hope it's still here. Okay, now we're all done and finished rolling up. I used a couple of smaller rollers at the nape of the neck. Just to get a little bit of a tighter curl going on there and yeah this is it now, it's ready for steaming, I'm just adjusting some hair to make it. What'S going on with my hands no mind, I think I was talking thinking. I was going to do a talky, be talky talky video here, but I decided to voice over it anyway, so nicely section just a very sort of roughly and off to the steamer, which is a different video. You can see that video here, thanks for watching

Adrianne Roletto: I love your videos. Thank you for them. I have short synthetic wigs. Can you please demonstrate how to set them to give them more body?

satanwearsfur: This is so useful, thank you so much!

Paula Coyle: how do you keep the ends under control without using papers? Also how do you avoid kinks from the pins or clips or even from the velcro "hooks" on the roller?

Emmanuel Gutierrez: Great video how many rollers did you use

Julio E Fare: I seen that product before but can't think of the same of it. Can you please tell us what did you spray on the hair at the beginning of the tutorial?
