Hey everybody welcome to another episode of Wiggin out with Bobby Z, hosted by me Bobby Z. It'S a Wiggy. We view Wednesday and it's a quick little tutorial for you guys today. So yay I'm calling out clean yo lace, clean your frikken lace, ru police, on your whips, clean it. I don't have to clean my leg. I'M flawless, I look good whatever you can't clock this. Yes, I can clock it. Cause is dirty when you wear a lace front wig more often than not. You'Re gon na have to glue that lace down at least at your temples, if not all the way around, if you're not gluing, it all the way around you're at least sweating, while you're in that and the makeup on your skin is almost melting into your front. Lace so that when you're wearing it at that time, it's going to be fine, but you put that wig away and you come back to it a couple of days or weeks or months later and you go to put it on when your face is all done. That makeup is going to be dried and caked on your lace and it's gon na be super SuperDuper visible a lot of girls out. There would rather just cut all the lace off of their lace fronts, and then you know they don't have to worry about it. Personally, I'm a theatre girl, my laces are long as but my wigs last longer and my lace fronts lay a lot flatter by having longer lace the whole other tutorial and conversation for another day soon, when you're using the glue. If you keep applying glue over glue over glue over glue, you get what I like to call the rubber eraser effect, and basically, what that is is that's when your lace have so much glue caked into them on both sides of the lace. You can't even see the honeycomb texture of the lace anymore and it looks like someone just thinly sliced, a pink eraser and stuck it on your skin, cut it out clean your lace when you are going to need a few things that if you are doing, drag Or you are doing wigs, you most likely have all of this stuff already in your house, so you're not really gon na have to go out and buy anything most important part of cleaning your lace and removing the glue and the makeup. Buildup is isopropyl alcohol. The higher the percentage, the better - this is 99 % alcohol. I got this at alcone. You can also buy it at Manhattan. Wardrobe supply the lower the alcohol number ie 75. The less amount of alcohol there's actually in it, which means it'll, take longer to activate it. To work - and it will also take a lot longer for it to dry and always make sure it's the clear isopropyl alcohol you're also going to need either a paper towel or a microfiber cloth. I personally prefer a microfiber cloth because they're reusable you can see. I already recorded the tutorial so there's makeup all over it, throw it in the wash and everything comes out of it. It'S great and paper towels are great because they're disposable you're not really making a mess of anything up. Do any laundry. However, the thicker, the more sandpapery feeling the better, if you use bounty or anything like that, those are so much fluffier and softer as you go in there and clean the lace. You'Re gon na get pills and the pills are so much harder to remove. Out of your laser out of the hair of a wig, so just stick to a nice papery feeling paper, towel you're also going to need a toothbrush. Now, personally, I use this one, which is swisco and it is the medium bristle. This is just a natural bristle toothbrush with a wooden handle. You can use a regular toothbrush. However, the natural bristles are a little more stiff and they're a little more densely compacted. So it's going to be a lot easier to get in there and clean off that glue and makeup residue. If you use a natural bristle toothbrush, I've had this toothbrush for years. You also are going to need some gauze pads and it's a great alternative. If you don't have a brush, because they do have a little bit of a texture, so you are going to be able to get the glue broken down and gauze. Pads are also really good. If you don't wear a lot of makeup or if your makeups, not very heavy you're, going to be able to just kind of swipe some alcohol covered gauze pads over the lace, you're gon na get it all off in one fell swoop. We'Re also gon na need. Some sectioning Clips to kind of get the hair out of the way of the lace front so that you can clean it better. I do sell both of these at bobby pins, calm, they're, very convenient they're very handy pick up a whole bunch. Alright, so you guys are going to recognize this wig from my photo shoot, katia, and also I wore this myself in a drag singing competition, because I was too lazy to do some more hair last year, so you guys can see here. On my hand, this is the lace front of the wig. This is the temple area. You guys can see how visible that lace is against my skin. You can see that it's orangie and you can also see that there's a little bit of glue residue here. I clean my glue and my makeup off every single time. I wear my wigs, so the glue does not get built up. You can also see if I turn it this way. The makeup that's in the front of the hair of this wig, but you know this does happen when you have lighter colored, wigs and you're wearing thick theatrical drag makeup. It'S gon na get in your hair. If you're cleaning your lace on a wig block, that's not covered, I would suggest covering it with a plastic bag. So you don't run the risk of transferring that makeup or the glue to the block itself and I'm just gon na tie it in a knot. In the back, because this bags very big, if you guys can even hear me - talk over there prinkle if you want to learn how to do a wig like this, I do classes on Skype. I also do classes in person in New York City to show you guys how to beat some hair - let's zoom in on this scroll right here, so you can see that I have all of this. You know glue and makeup build-up visible on the wig. So, on this side, I'm going to show you with a paper towel and on the other side, I'll show you, with a microfiber cloth, just to make sure that your wig isn't going to go anywhere. You want to make sure you have at least one or two pins in the top of it to hold it on your head. I skinned my knuckle in my bathroom a couple weeks ago. Sorry about it is gross. So now you can definitely see how much makeup and glue and nastiness is on this lace. That'S super visible! You want to take your alcohol sprayer. You just want to coat that lace and you can already see see dripping right here. There'S little drips of makeup and glue already. This stand is loud, so I'm going to take my gauze pad right here, gon na spritz that a little bit too right there and I'm just going to go in and I'm gently gon na rub the lace and for the most part I do this gently and I'M going side to side a little bit just to break it up, and then I go forward just to make sure that I'm getting the edge of that lace and you want to make sure that you go all the way around behind your ear behind that sideburn. Because you're going to have makeup there so now, when I remove this paper, towel see it's transferred onto the towel. There is still quite a little bit of makeup residue on the lace which you guys will see now that I put a clean new towel underneath, and this is why I like using the little toothbrush. So all you need to do is after you wet your lace down with alcohol is go in there with the brush and I'm brushing down. I'M brushing down along the edge of the lace and if you feel like being a little more put a little more, the more alcohol you use the faster that glue and that makeup is gon na come off. You can kind of move your towel around so that you reveal cleaner areas of the towel, so you can tell so you guys can see there that this lace is not as visible as it once was, and then this is where the clips come in to clip This hair all up out of the way right now I use the microfiber towel. I take the wig fully off the head. I put my towel down like that, and then I place the lid back on top of it. If you don't lift it up, you run the risk of ripping your lace front, trying to shove that towel up under there. No to me now, microfiber cloth, it's gon na, be the same exact technique, same exact steps just with the towel versus paper, and then the great thing about a microfiber towel is as you're doing it. The fibers of the towel almost go through the lace of the wig, so you can clean in between all those little hexagons of lace and I'm kind of rubbing side to side with this to kind of loosen up that late loosen up that make up in that Glue and then you can see I'm kind of pulling it back. I had a lot of makeup on that night and the lace on this wig is not quite exactly transparent. It has a slight tiny, teeny-weeny, tiny hint of Brown to it. So this lace on its own against my skin, was already a little bit visible. But if you add all that makeup, on top of it and for all it's hard to do this and watch the few finder again make sure you get underneath and behind the hairline of the wig to get all that glue and that makeup out now I had This wig not been sitting with this makeup on the lace for like six months. It would come off a lot easier. That'S the other reason why you should do this after you wear it before you put her away because had I done that last year, this would all be gone in 3.2 seconds and when it's really, you can even get in there and just kind of put the Brush in there and in one spot kind of just roll it around, and that's really good for breaking up the glue as well, you can see how much glue and makeup was in this wig. You guys you see that, and that's only this side you guys can see now that that lace is pretty much invisible again. Now, I'm going to show you guys how to get all that glue out of the hair like right here so you're, going to take all these clips out um and I'm a strong hairdresser, so my wig just kind of pops back into its shape. So you're going to take your microfiber cloth here and you're going to spray alcohol on it until it's pretty wet you want it to be, not dripping wet, we want it to be pretty damp and then all you do. Is you just take your your makeup spot right here and you're going to hold that hair against it and you're going to squish it and you'll, see that when I do that, it's getting all of this hair wet and then, since this has a wave, I'm going To kind of rub it with my fingers, while I hold that wave in this place like that, and you can see that that makeup is all gone out of that wave. And then I'm going to do the same thing to the wave up here, which is a little worse, because that was my actual forehead and I think there's some eyebrow in there too. Lots and lots of alcohol. I'M so same thing holding the hair into the alcohol and just kind of want to let it soak through, and that's just dissolving that makeup so that you can easily kind of just softly. Rub it out, rub it out dirty there's a little makeup left. So I'll do it again, but you can see how much makeup is on this towel, that's from the wave I just did, and then this is from the front. When I did the lace front, you might want to do this in a ventilated area. All this alcohol makes a little hard to breathe subtypes, so I'm just gently rubbing the makeup out of the hair and it's gotten better, there's still a little bit right here. So since there's just a little, let me just go in with my finger just a little bit right. There go there's some little bit here. So let me just take my two fingers inside like this, like that, I got most of that makeup out. There'S a little bit in there um, but I just if you actually really want to go in there. You can get rid of it um and then the great thing about the alcohol is that it will reactivate whatever hairspray you have in your wig zoom out there. She is nice and clean. That's definetely the one I will be using. Thank you so much Bobby! This was very helpful just like your other videos, you explain so well and in so much details that is very easy to understand and I hardly ever have any questions. Love it!

Barbara Dillon-Doyle: Bobbie, great video. Question; for those of us who for whatever lame reasons use synthetic hair wigs... is it okay to use alcohol? I mean if it cuts down the life of the synthetic hair so be it, but if it kills it???? What say you, oh wise one!

XxthedoctorparkerxX: I was so excited to see your beautiful face this morning! and I totally fan girled when I saw you with ms. fame and Nikki!!!

buddy77587: Man!  Bobby.  I am so glad you did this video.  I can't tell you how no one has taken the time to demo.this technique.  I've seen some with a mirror and the orange cleaner.  Blah Blah Blah...Now....One question: what glue do you use?  Thanks so super much!!!!!!!!   Muahhh

Jasmine Dolcine: love you and your work and i need help! lol also I would love to take classes with you I'm in NYC too. love your videos totally helpful! I just graduated aveda nyc cosmetology program and I work at a hair salon in nyc I love extensions and wigs and wig making and natural hair too. found your videos you totally inspire and I learn so much from you. But more importantly I just had my first model with baldness/alopecia who had dreadlocks so I used a human hair lace closure bleached the knots cut the hair colored the hair installed it with scalp prep and adhesive to the client's head and the salon owner did loc extensions so the hair blended with his real hair. i can send you photos if needed so you see what I'm talking about. did this fir the for the first time he loved and we think it turned out great. we're going to do two more models and then offer this as an official hair service to those experiencing hair loss. Also I love extensions and taking classes on ventilating I'll be making my first mustache soon then full lace wig. I did recently go to the manhattan wardrobe supply definitely will buy items from them and told them everything I'm telling you now waiting to hear back from them. so i wanted to ask: 1.what tape and/or glue adhesives & removers you like to use? i'm trying different ones to find which work best...especially so when it dries even if they don't wear make up it doesn't make the lace of the hairpiece look a different color and not their skin tone 2. where do you find synthetic lace closure and frontal pieces? do you make them? where do you suggest to buy synthetic and human hair bulk hair to use for making custom pieces? 3. what do you do to color synthetic hair? or to dye lace of premade synthetic lace frontal/closure? a lot of synthetic closures and frontals i've seen in stores have wefts and aren't ventilated... 4. i'm looking for vendors that sell human and synthetic hair lace closures and frontals if you have any suggestions i'd love to know! :-) 5. i want to learn about styling, coloring, maintaining wigs like ones you have done. so i'd like to take a class in addition to bing watching your videos lol ***my email is [email protected] thanks for reading my essay long comment :-)

Christa Rickard: Very nice major difference with out compromising the lace your awesome babe thanks so much

Wigaholic #SharingisCaring: Also how do you prevent the color from seeping through when coloring?

Zakeya Brookins: Thank you for sharing. Good job.

VirtuousBeauty Salon: just discovered your channel..love you..but was wondering can u do a tutorial on best ways to store your wigs our travel with wigs

LunaHime313: ... I'm guilty of not cleaning the entire lace and you are right about the make up depositing and caking. :-/ I know, I'm a bad monkey. Definitely going to try the microfiber when I clean my lace EVERY TIME. QUESTION: how do you keep the lace from fraying? I notice this happens more so after I clean over time. Help!!

Brit & Patrick & Son Haven & Mullen & Mullen: I'm new to wigs; hard no idea how complex it all was going to be.

Rafael Frena: is it okay to use eyelash glue instead of spirit gum?

Krystina: Bobbie, sadly i pulled a lil too hard on my lace while putting it on and it tore away from the wig. How do i attach it back the correct way? Is there even away to do it? Please help!

Robbert Nyhan: I've found that 91% isopropyl alcohol works just fine! you can get it at Walmart guys!

Jennifer Moore: Can this be used on a synthetic?

Honey2800: Bobby, what color is in your hair sweetie? I am LIVING for that Red! I want to color my hair that color.

Wigaholic #SharingisCaring: How can you safely remove color from the lace on a frontal?

Jason Thomason: I've gone through a ton of alcohol trying to get craft bond out of my lace. Would Goo Gone do the trick or would that melt the hair?

Micheal Starner: I do santa, but I cant get 91% alcohol for my lace. What else could I use?

70’s Fashion &Hair Channel: What removes makeup like black eye pencil from a blonde wig? I tried alcohol, and I tried makeup wipes, and so far no luck. Help!

Petit Pois: What a difference!

Lacey Noel: I love your hair and the Katya wig! My mom wants to contact you about a Dita wig. ✨

Luna Moon: Clean yo Lace...And don't forget the Face!

Jessica Valerio: brilliant!

Jess in king: i have an OT question. i have a wig i've had for about three-four years now. washed it a few times, used your straightening tutorial to get the jank ends fixed...but it just seems very limp and like its at its end and not full like it used to be. at what point do you know you need to replace your wig, and do you just throw it away or is there someplace to donate it or something? just because its no longer full and vibrant for me someone may be able to do something with it...idk never threw a wig away before.

Beauty Neytiri: do you gleu down the lace on top of your make up though ? i allways remove my make up first, right where i gleu down the lace, but now i'm wondering, is that really necessary ? its allways such a struggle to build up my make up right against the lace line...

Eva Tsardoulias - Madrigal: doesnt it show if you leave it long?

Laynie Fingers: Forget clocking the lace, think about the bacteria growing in the sweat makeup glue sludge! If that's not a recipe for breakouts, I don't know what is!

Dita Whip: I wouldnt clean that lace: To be fair: That would be such a freaking clean lace in my eyes! - But great video!

Samantha Mz. Lace Burks: I also use a mirror,....if the unit has the glue build up, I rub the lace across the mirror repeatedly, and clean mirror with acetone, microfiber towel or paper towel. The glue just rolls off the lace onto the mirror. And then you can clean the lace with less chems

Ty Jeffries Composer & Lyricist: I promise to clean my lace! But can you PLEASE tell me how to do those big waves you have in the blonde wig you are demonstrating with...or do you have a video for that already? I am hopeless! Please help! I'd be so grateful. Thank you x

MsCherade9: Can you use Denatured Alcohol rather than Isopropyl Alcohol? It has no residue unlike Isopropyl with leaves an oily film behind which tends to attract grease and dirt to it more easily. Is this the same on lace fronts?

marie law: Great video I have a beatific white lace dress I bought but have never worn The lace has turned yellow Just wondering if this tip would work for the dress and how much I would need

joshuathekatycat: When spraying the alcohol on the lace with a human hair wig that has been dyed like blue, red, green, etc. will the alcohol extract the color of the wig?

Kaleo Gradilone: i made the awful mistake of gluing a wig with eyelashe glue... Dude, you have no idea of the mess I made. I try to work it out with your tips hahaha.

Eva Tsardoulias - Madrigal: but doesnt lace get trimmed off?

Blueyoshimenac E.: Bobby, I ripped my lace on the side burns of my wig? can I sew them back on?!

Eva Tsardoulias - Madrigal: will alcohol dry out wig fibers?

Helen Joanna: Please tell me this is safe to use on Human Hair....Swiss lace wig. I need help ASAP. What percentage of alcohol would I need. I'm in the UK and need to clean makeup off ASAP. So need to order the alcohol spray quickly through Amazon prime. Plus... does the alcohol leave any odor? Thank you so much for any help Xx

Jen JustJen: I was just about to search your channel for this! *spooky mind reader music* fankooo! love ya x

THAILAND: Thank a lot

nick irish: would u do a class on ventilating

equ ua: omg i love ur hair

constance williams: Your hair is beautiful.

sherie Ivy S: is this a human hair wig, and would this same technique be good with human hair and softer lace?

Diamond Pearl: Very informative. Isopropyl alcohol is difficult to find here in the UK... anyone know a good place? xx

Rachel Veno: Bobbie, Is there any other reason to glue the wig than to keep it in place?  Mine was fully trimmed to the hair line when she sold me my first. I regret not knowing you before that purchase. $300.00 full lace, Human hair, prob not Remi...but it was nice except hard for me to get used to VS full cap cheaper wigs I was used to that feels more like a hat for security. However, because of your demonstration I did buy the Milana wig grip but I almost only use it for me human hair wig. The others feel tight enough. If my wig falls off, I just look like a pretty type Lesbian..saying with love to all those I know!.  I am saving for one of yours... hugs on success!

Goddess Corner: Thx a million subbed

U Toober: much needed advice! clean the dam thing. stridex pads...

vafbychente: I love you bobbie!!!

Noah Baccomo: Can you review your deluxe wefting hair if you Already did what is the name of the video

Scr3amerrr: you can pick up IPA for really cheap off ebay and amazon! ebay has it the cheapest I've ever seen it :)

joshuathekatycat: If you wear a wig with no makeup near the lace and not glue it down like in theater do you have to clean it every time you wear it?

schumi145 Gaby:

Chad Bell: im alittle upset that we are just finding out about the skype live tutorials

peepla7: I thought alcohol was bad....IE: drying ...for hair

twominutetips: While I appreciate your videos the overly used term "bitch" is sooooooooo offensive.

Lenin Gonzalez: Clock them!!!

Rachel Veno: Bobbie, I thought you didn't like or use the term "UNIT" I feel its a freakin Wig Girls!  Years, fake hair on a woman a wig, on a man a toupee?  However, please I do not understand why the only ladies that use that Term  "UNIT" if from African American woman. Does this stem for some term that is used to described the texture or styling or build in pattern of the design. I just wondered if there was a difference in the industry. I have just finished my 15th month of Transitioning. I love and adore wigs. I have invested in may Vivica Fox, Raquel Welch, Iman from HSN. I love Silver, Bobbi (not so much now) and my favorite Charlie. I just want to know if 150.00 can buy a comfortable, almost everyday. Which for diabled me is I dress when I go out 3 times a week almost a real full wig. Here is a look I would love to have, its the closets thing to me feeling very comfortable!

marie law: Hi there Sadly I have already tried that

Rainbow kiwiboh: hey would you ever or have tryed to audition for rupauls drag race?

Tasha Jones: Can this method be applied to human wigs, Or will the alcohol risk damaging the hair?

Tasha Jones: +WigginOutBZ

Goko Domingo Vlogs: Tiktok brought me here
