Hey everybody, it's another episode of wagging out with Bobby Z, hosted by me, Bernadette House, down now that I have my you know, pretty HD camera. Look at all that jewelry! Yes, I've decided to go and make some remake as people slam doors. In my building. I decided to go back and remake some of my old videos, kind of start in the beginning and going forward. So I decided today to remake my wig prep tutorial and how I personally prep my hair. This technique works for drag. It works for theater works for opera works for everyday, just kind of runs the gamut, if you have short hair kind of like mine, and if you want to learn how to get that hair up under a wig, properly stay tuned. Okay. So here I am not done, needs some eyelashes on need a lip definitely, but I like to do all that stuff after I get my dress on just so, I don't run a risk of smudging anything. So what you'll need are you'll need. Little tiny hair rubber bands like this, you will need large toupee clips available at bobby pins calm. These are the gold color just so you guys can see it against. My hair people are being really loud in my office boat around screaming in the hallway. So hopefully you guys conciliar me this is by goodie. You can get these at pretty much any pharmacy. I really like them because they have the no-slip grip in them, which is basically just uncovered elastic woven through, so it doesn't slip as much on your hair and you will also need small hair pins without ball tips. Balls of terpenes. I hate them. Yes, they're better. Going into your head because they don't have a they have a ball on the end, so that they're not going to scrape you, but they can rip your lace. They won't fit through this band it'll be kind of hard to try to do this. Small hair pins without the ball tips are the best way to go. You will also need a wig cap. I like to do two caps like to do a neck cap and a solid cap. You can get the solid caps at bobby pins calm. You can also just use an old pair of tights if you feel like it. I really love neck caps. I haven't found a great place to get them cheap, otherwise I would sell them on. My website have like a high fade that comes up to here. So I really only have length on the top of my head, so I'm just going to take. I put one in the back and then I'm going to do one on either side in front of that. You guys are going to see right here. So there's one on this side, one on the other side and I like to kind of pull them over towards the end of where my fade. It'S over here dot and then over here. Just so that there's one in the middle - and these are kind of here on the top, so I can get some pins in there when I'm putting on my wig and then I'll put one here in the middle and I'm leaving out all my bangs right there And pull it down and then, depending on how my sections worked out I'll either do two or I'll do three in the front right now. I can probably do two because I didn't leave a lot in the front, so I'm just going to do two in the front right here that so I have one in the back one more and then so I have eight. No, I have six. I can't count if your hair is sort of the same length all over. You can just do ponytails all over if your hair is longer than about four or five inches. You can totally do, pin curls just for anchoring, but since my hair is not that long, I like to do the ponytails remember how I used to have a mohawk. It'S gone cut it off a couple months ago. I grew it out just basically for drag, because my wigs would always slide up in the back, and I wanted something to pin into back there. Um Josh didn't really like it. So I cut it off and I figured out this other way of prepping my hair, so my wigs won't slide. So I'm basically going to go in about here, which is kind of like at a diagonal between the top of my ear and the my hairline right here and that's basically where my wig band is going to sit. So this is open and then this is closed and the round part go. The the concave side like that goes against your head because it follows the shape of your head. So I'm going to put a clip right here and I like to go in and then wiggle it and then and then close it and basically that's just going to kind of anchor it into my head. Now the same on the other side, there's phone ringing so put it in I'll. Do it again come in you got a little closer see. So I got my two clips here and I'm gon na do the same thing in the back and I'm gon na put two basically as low as I can get them on my hair, while still being able to catch hair. As you can see here, I do kind of need a shape up right here, but the wig I'm wearing is long and the dress has a high neck. I saw the beginning of the video, so you won't see it go up. Wiggle. Ah, so you'll see it's right here and it's in there pretty good there. Okay! So now that I have my four clips on my ponytails, I'm going to take my band and I'm going to align my band up with the clips. So I want the clips to sit underneath the band, so you can see. I have a clip here. Coverage and my clip over here is also cover. These are the meta grip pins from satellite Beauty Supply. They come in bronze and black. These are bronze and I'm dropping one. These are the smaller size. They come out of large size of a small size in the same container. So, first, what I'm going to do is I'm going to push the hair pins through the band and I'm going to go in this way, so they interlock and the first one I'm going to do is my front and center right here and basically that's just going To anchor into my prep right there, so you can see right here. I can't really pull that band next, I'm going to go on the side here where that clip is and I'm going to do the same thing I'm going to push the hair, pin the row and under the clip like that, and then I'm going to do the Same thing over here now I just have myself: they are sharp, so beware but the sharper they are the better, because they'll actually be able to break through your cap. So you can see here that that band is on there pretty sturdy, pretty neat right. Um other same side same thing on the other side, and then you do the same in the back. So now my band is firmly attached to my clips and you can see here that it's pretty much on there get off your speakerphone stop screaming. Jeez people are trying to work here, I'm going to take my net cap here and I'm going to start in the front and I'm just going to make sure that it's open I'm going to pull it down on to my prep lines you can see here. It follows my prep and then also in the front. It is also following my friend I'm just going to pull the excess here. So now I'm going to do the same, I'm going to take the small pins and I'm going to anchor them into those clips going in this way. So, basically, now what you have is you have two pins going this way and a third going that way, and it's going to lock to that toupee clip and then the same in the back. I have all of this excess. This camp is actually really frickin huge. I'M usually net caps are not this big. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take two more hair pins, a small guys, go spin around you guys and see no spin, it pull it and pull it down and, as you can see, because it's so long, I folded it up on it. So just so that it wouldn't extend past the bottom of my wake up and then I'm just going to take my hairpin, the band just like that. Take my solid way cap and screaming out they're going to stretch out my cap first cuz. I got a big ol melon head and then the same thing start in the front. I'M just going to pull it down over my prep and I'm going to pull it. So a little bit of my hairline is visible and then I can pull the excess. The excess and then usually what I do is instead of doing the pool, I usually just take the wig cap and I fold it down so if, like that, just to make it nice and flat and then I do the same thing, I take two small hair Pins and this time I'll do like the center just so I don't have a million pin them in place, because I don't make it hard to put on my wig and pin that in there just do one there and then I'll just do one in the middle. Like it's not it's not that deep and I'm only wearing one wig tonight. If you're doing a lot of wig changes, you want to make sure that your top cap is anchored on very well. You can see my prep is flat and secure and it's not going anywhere as you can see right there. It'S on my head, which is good, so you can see here. I do have hairline visible here and I'm not. I don't wear my prep right at my hairline, because if I did and then my wig would sit on top of it, you would either see the wig cap through the lace of my wig or I'd, have to pull it down even further to cover it and Then I'd look like Theresa from the Real Housewives and that's not cute, so I kind of leave it back here just to get a little bit of my hairline out yeah. That'S how I do my big prep now that I cut off my Mohawk. This prep works on pretty much any length of hair over like an edge inch and a half to about four to five inches like I said you really should do a pin curl if your hair is passed kind of like here, just because the ponytails really aren't Gon na they're going to be harder for you to do and take out at the end of the night. That'S the great thing about having short hairs that can just do the ponytail and pull it out the end of the night and it's fine. But if you have long hair, you got ta pull away through with cut them out. Just do, pin curls it's easier. That way. Thank you guys again for watching this quick little tutorial and how I personally propped my own hair for wearing wigs. I am in the process of getting together friends of mine to make other demos such as long thick, hair, long thin, hair, shorter hair, bald balding they're all going to come eventually for you guys, because everyone's been asking me ever since I made my first video. How do I prep my hair? I have long hair, how do I put a wig on I'm bald, etc, etc, etc - and I just have I just have to get together with some friends and coordinate some schedules, and those videos will be coming very shortly. Trouble and The New Brazilians: Oi! Can u make a tutorial of this wig? It is beautiful!

ethan roleau: Bobbie you are amazing!!! Love it!!

Liz: The wig prep helps me a lot because I’m a beginner cosplay and I have a lot of hair that’s fine but thick as heck and it’s hard to get it up into a wig cap thank you so much!

unidentified user: Super helpful, thank you

David Chevalier: Yes...wig prep for buzzed or bald please.  :)

nino4100: Your the best i was thinking of doing something like this with a hair band and clips... cant wait to see more !

Dixie Longate: Hey there,  LOVE your channel.  You are amazing.  I was wondering if you can answer a question.  I spirit gum the sides of my lace to my face but recently, they have started popping badly.  By the end of my show, the lace has completely let go from the glue.  This never used to happen and I have been doing drag for 13 years.  In about the last 2 years, the wigs have been popping like crazy.  Any idea why this might be happening and what I can do to remedy it?

GreenWitch Exotics: I love that wig it is very pretty

sandra666: My cousin friend referred me to this video. For some reason both my son and I lost our hair this past year. Bald spots and thinning. Went to the dr. Trying to figure out the problem. My son wears a cap. All hats fit me huge. I bought a wig. No matter what I do you can see about an inch of my hair on the sides when I push the wig forward the hair part looks really unnatural. What am doing wrong? Did I buy a bad wig? What wigs brands do you suggest? Also I live on the gulf coast during the summer the winds are 30 mph or more. If I pin my wig like this will it stay put. I'm so self conscious about it. I have seen some people have their wigs fly off. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank. You

Zinck: Ah~ this is super helpful for cosplay >.< thankyou

Dragon Alchemy: Awesome thank you!

Kaleo Gradilone: i tried once do get in full drag... i just don't feel pretty with a wig. ironically i have lots of it. hahah i think maybe i should try short hair like you, it looks really nice

Maxxy Rainbow: YAAASS YOU LOOK SO SICKENING! CMON QUEEN BURN THAT HOUSE DOWN 1080% BOOTS YASSSSSS

Poise'n Craft: So helpful

TwiDash FTW: My hair is longer than yours, but still short so this should be very helpful.

DarkAndDandy: Fuck, that's a good drag name...

Paulo Rezende: You look so good! :)

TheDivineMsM23: I just can't get enough of that wig

Jaimie Cass: Not sure if this has been asked but what is the rubber band... like a headband found at a drugstore or ? I love this! I have a party to attend and want to wear a wig but not have it move on me. Thank you :)

Ulve Gutten: Hi! love your videos. Do you know what to do if you have a shaved head? xoxo

Dice (Pluto): With 4 feet of thick curly hair, I think there may be no hope for my cosplay.

Nick Carney: Where did you get that gorgeous wig from I want one?

Jonathan Lee: Loving that mug. esp the brows gurr

Chris H: I’m in love

Joshua Graham: Okay lady! I actually just ordered that custom Bey from you and I have a questions. You seem to always leave the lace uncut on your wigs, as a gurl who has to bust it and dance here in Chi-town what would you do for the diva who has to glue that shit down. I pin into what little hair i have (same cut but shorter on the sides) but the front will pop right up if i dont glue (im a sweater and its a lot of movement). Just curious how you would suggest one approaches said situation.

Kandi: Great vid. Just curious, why do you get ready for shows at the office now instead of at home?

ItsAsh: What about for long hair?

Brad Monroe: Do you think this would be good for gym class?

Thomas McNamara: Your makeup is terrific! Of course, so us the hair but that goes without saying.

Allie Cat: Hello! Not sure if this question was asked already but would this prep work if I was wearing a wig and was going to head bang with it? If not, what would you suggest I use to make more able to head bang! Thank you! Help! Lol

Amy Zinn: I have really thick hair. It's so thick that I got it cut cause I was so hot. Got any tips?

Antisepticeye I hate dark: If you guys want any tips I would highly recommend like if you wanna wear your wig all day if you don’t wanna do all that and just clip your wig into the wig cap

G Stan: Great video. I don’t understand why you need both a net and solid cap??

you yesyesyes: I want that fucking poodle ring, holy shit

accf: that was the fort knox of wig preps

Tainted Life: My head is buzzed. Can't wait to see the prep for me! I hope it's faster I take forever as it is. I would love it if there were drag makeup tutorials featuring a timer. I can never tell how long people take and I take way too damn long and need to shorten my process and it seems like some people have really complicated makeup application and costumes etc. I would like to see how long people take that would be cool although I imagine it would be sped up thanks!

Christie Rechin: What if your hair is just a little too short for this??

Anita Lolita Senorita: thanks beautifull

Tiama J: Hi just found your channel and omg I luv your video ....but if I can leave a few tips ....the wig or toupee combs can be sewn to the inside of your wigs so that can eliminate those pins and why not just braid or two strand twist and then pin the hair down with wave clips so it lays even flatter its what we Black women do and I cut my hair completely short and not one wig slip honey....and everything from the clips to the caps Ebay have them uber cheap or hairsistersdotcom or any local wig store has them all like $1 ....hope it helps liking and subscribing

Natalija Noxx: What is you opinion on he duct tape method of securing a wig cap??

anthony schaefer: !!!

Vice .Versa: Yaaaaaaaaaaaas

Bequi Carter: i'm pretty
