I'M excited about today's video. I am excited about today's video you guys, because today we are gon na be talking all about wigs and alopecia. As some of you may already know, I have really really bad traction alopecia and I actually got traction alopecia because of some poor choices that I made in my early 20s and late teens, including wearing my hair, and a lot of extensions that weren't installed properly and Also wearing my hair in really really really tight ponytail, you know. After every rainstorm, there is a rainbow and the rainbow at the end of that rainstorm story and that kind of traumatic experience losing all the hair on the sides of my head and not being able to ever grow it back with that. I learned so much about hair pieces toppers, wigs and because of that knowledge, I'm really able to help a lot of my other clients with alopecia who struggled so much so this video is made to feature a really really cool wig and a really cool wig company And show you guys a few different ways that I use it, how I install it, how I style it so that it looks a full eyes, he'll, a super natural and ultra sexy. If that sounds good to you, then the subscribe down below and keep on watching. Despite knowing so much about clipping extensions, semi-permanent extensions, toppers, all different types of wigs, the one product that I gravitate towards a lot and recommend a lot to my clients - are the lace front wigs, I love how lace front wigs look. This is the wig that I am wearing now. So what a lace front wig is, is it's basically a wig where the whole front section is made out of lace and the hair is tied onto the lace and pulls through lace is see-through so when it gets laid down on your head and on your forehead And scalp area, it really looks like those and knotted hairs are growing out of your, and it gives an incredibly realistic look and has been such a game-changer in like wig technology. The wig that I'm using today is about a company called uni. Wigs uni. Wigs was kind enough to send me this wig for free, but this is not a sponsored video, so I am NOT making this video to make money off of uni wigs, but I've got to tell you when I got the wig in the mail. I was pretty mind blown. I have owned a ton of wigs. I'Ve bought really cheap wigs on Aliexpress, but I've also worn some pretty expensive wigs from like first lady wigs, and I can't believe that I'm saying this, but this way from uni wigs is probably the nicest wig I have ever gotten, because I really didn't have to Do any modifications to it? Sometimes I pluck the hair line so that I open up the part and make it look more natural. I could do this to this wig, but I didn't want to do it for this video so that you guys can get an experience of unboxing, something that you buy and putting it right on your head without having to see a hairdresser without having to do all Of those like really detailed modifications, even without any modifications done that this wig is stunning, the quality is fantastic. The way that the hairline is kind of scattered and spaced out is really really really well done. I find that it looks incredibly natural and it just has a fantastic density, fantastic length and quality and color. I don't really see any like weird straggly white hairs, which sometimes you get with cheaper wigs, nothing like that and the wig retails for just over $ 600, which is an absolute freaking steal for hair. That'S this thick, this long and human. If you are looking for a wig, then go check them out. You can use my code, which is in the description box below again. I make no money off of it and you can kind of get a taste of like the different types of wigs that they offer and their price range. It'S really really shocking to me how good this wig actually is before we get started. If you have alopecia and you are new to the world of wigs or if you don't have alopecia and you're new to the world of wigs, I want tell you a few reasons why I am a wig lover. Reason number one is that your wig is always styled. So when you first get it it's a bit messy and stuff, because it's been packaged and you're gon na see that in the clips, when I put this on, but then you style it you wear it. You brush it, you put it away and it's pretty much styled all the time you are not working out in it. You are not sleeping in it. You are not showering with it, so the humidity is not getting to it. So the hair really lasts a really long time. You know significantly more than a semi-permanent extension like a nano length. Micro link tape in you know it lasts much longer than those would last because it doesn't have the wear and tear that you put extensions through and that you even put your own hair through reason. Number two that I love wigs is that you can do extreme changes in length and in color. So if you have very short hair - and you want hair, that is this long - it's kind of difficult to do it even with like a tape and extension which even fills the hair in quite nicely and the reason it's difficult is because there's going to be a Demarcation from your hair to the length of the extension so you're, either gon na have to install a ton of hair to blend that out or it's just not really gon na be possible and you're gon na have to style your hair in creative ways to hide The demarcation this happens a lot in my clients, with very blunt bobs when they want that really long extension, because no hair is left out with a wig. You don't have any demarcation. You don't have to worry about blending any of that out and you can also do really crazy color changes that you would never be able to and reason number three is very similar reason number two: you can really experiment with your hair and experiment with different looks Without any commitment, so that could you know even mean length, but reverse so say you have really long hair and you want to try a bob or a long bob. You can wear a long, bobbed wig or you want to even do a pixie cut. They have tons of pixie cut wigs out there as well, so that's really really cool and then, of course, there's a color thing that you can really experiment with the first thing that we're gon na do is we're gon na put our wig cap on when you Are putting a wig cap on you want to make sure that your hair under that wig cap is as flat as possible because my hair is so fine. It'S very easy to do this, but if your hair isn't so fine, you can wrap your hair around your head and then put the wig cap on. Over top of that now you can see that your hair comes with a ton of extra lace. What I like to do is actually put my hair on my head, I like to see where it's sitting and then go in with very sharp scissors and cut as close to the first knot as I can, without going so far that I'm losing that line of Hair, so just be really really careful with this, because it is pretty tricky I even like to take it off my head after I do my preliminary cut and do some of the detailing work off the head now you're gon na grab your got to be spray Glue this is an amazing trick to keep your wig staying on your head, you're gon na spray, your hairline with this hair spray. It'S a super super super crazy, strong hairspray, you're gon na put your wig on and then you're just gon na make sure that all of your edges and all of your hairline is lining up really really nicely with your natural hair line and you're gon na push. It into that got to be spray that is gon na kind of make the wig stick to your face and not move. There is a huge problem with wigs looking fake when the hairline starts moving back and you can see your hair starting, so you can just do that, hold it in place. Let it set and then BAM your wakes, not going anywhere now in order to blend the lace on the actual part line. You want to use a little bit of the foundation you're using on your face. I just go right in with a nice packed tight little packing brush and I just draw around the hairline and I use my fingers to blend everything through. So now it looks like the lace is actually coming out of my head and - and you can't see, underneath that it's a wig cap, if you are getting any types of lines or marks just buff, your your hairline with some bronzer and a little brush and kind Of brushed through that concealer, so it's not too patchy and away you go all right. So I want to show you what this wig looks like straight first, so what you're gon na do is you're actually going to section your hair, like you, normally would section regular hair when straightening it you're gon na go through your hair, you're gon na brush out All of the knots and very smoothly and carefully you're gon na do one to two passes for every strand. Until you get that nice, glossy silky result that you are looking for. If you find that the root section or the very top section of your hair is a little puffy that can happen, sometimes you want to grab the hot part of your iron and just kind of push it down and lay it into the lace and there you Go there is wig number one completely straight: I'm loving it. Oh my gosh, it is so beautiful and sexy alright look. Number two here is a one-inch curling wand, I'm just gon na wrap my hair around the curling wand, always wrapping away from the face on both sides using one-inch sections holding until I feel that the heat is kind of saturated through the hair unraveling and releasing I Like to leave the ends out so that it looks really really manjar but like how gorgeous does this wig look when you add some wave and some bounce to it, now that we see what this beautiful wig looks like when it's straight and when it's wavy, I Want to show you two different hairstyles that I do with my legs a lot, but are super super easy and hairstyle number one. All you're gon na do is you're gon na grab that crown area of your head and you are going to pin it with bobby pins you're just gon na crisscross, the pins, then you're gon na grab one side of the head just a little bit of hair You'Re gon na cross it over and pin it in and do the exact same on the other side. You end up with the most beautiful look. I actually do this a lot on brides and it's super super easy. You can even start adding in little accessories here. So that you get just like a really brightly formal adorable look, you can really spice it up with accessories or just leave it, as is for like a daytime. Look. I really like leaving out a lot of softness here at the front. It helps to hide the lace, doesn't make it look as Wiggy, but you know when you take away some of the hair here, it doesn't feel as full and if it doesn't feel as full, it doesn't feel as fake. This is a problem that I think a lot of people who wear wigs have when they're not used to it. It just feels like not real, and I think a big part of the reason for that is because of the density. So just taking a little bit of hair away gives you like that softness and that framing. But it looks really really cute and it's really easy to do and look number two. What you can also do is grab the sides of the hair. Do a nice thick chunky, braid, pull it out a little bit and just tie it at the back with an elastic. This is so simple but looks adorable. It looks so good with this type of hair. Thank you so much for watching. I hope that you learned something new today if you have any questions about your alopecia or any questions about mine and how I've dealt with it, leave it in the comment section below I love getting your comments and I definitely take the time to respond I'll see You next week, bye

Tammy Renee: I’m happy to hear a YouTuber discuss traction alopecia. I’ve had it since I was 13. I’m 43 now. This wig looks naturally beautiful on you! I’m looking forward to watching your content!

Jenel Lopez: Thank you for this video! I was diagnosed with alopecia areata 2 years ago during my senior year of high school and have been really self conscious about my hair ever since. Thankfully my hair is thick so my spots are hard to see but I still get scared that someone will see them I was thinking lately of starting to wear wigs and stumbled upon your video. I’ll definitely use this for reference thank you for the video and thanks for sharing your story

Amanda Kalbfleisch: This is such an important video!!! Hair loss can touch so many people but no one talks about it!

Michelle Scarborough: Hi Gabi, I must say you did a good job showing people how to apply a lace front and adhere it. I have frontal fibrosing alopecia, and my hairline is receding and I have no hair on my temple area. I know this is horrifying. I have found with wigs that they are too dense and the part looks unnaturally dense. I have been trying to find a wig that is lightweight and has a preplucked hailrline so I don't screw it up! My hair is straight and fine. It is getting too thin and I need to find a good wig that looks natural. Any suggestions would greatly help. Also, could you do a tutorial on plucking the hairline and part to make a wig look natural. Other videos go way too fast and I feel like you would be a good teacher for this topic. Thanks for the video! Good job!

Silk or Lace: Our luxury wig and topper company, Silk or Lace, was founded because our CEO developed alopecia after getting off of birth control! Thank you for sharing your journey with alopecia and how wigs have changed your hair game! Wigs and toppers are such a fun way to change up your hair, or make you feel more confident!!

emme: i lost over half my hair after a tough battle with an eating disorder and, even now that im healthy and nourished, it's still falling out and isn't growing back. i never thought losing hair could be as traumatic and scary as it has been. brushing my hair and just feeling so many stands falling out and having to see my hair in the drain in the shower has been really difficult. i didnt know i was so emotionally attached to my hair. i've been wanting to try wigs for about a couple years now but my heart stops when i see the prices. this wig is stunning and i would kill to be able to afford one. it sucks that these things have to be so pricey and if you dont have the money, youre just out of luck. i've got crazy wig-envy watching this haha. hopefully one day i'll have a wig so i can actually follow the tutorial :) but for now, i'll just keep watching and lusting haha!

Candice Abraham: Thank you so much for this! So informative! I'me going to start looking to see what I might like here! I LOVE the last two looks, especially the last one, so much! I'm not sure I could do any of this on my own...I don't even own a flat iron anymore because I don't straighten my hair anymore but now I slowly know where to start! Love this video!!

Anna Ponce: Your wig looks so beautiful on you! I bought one that’s a different brand but I didn’t know how to wear it. Your video has helped me out with that! Thank you for this

Michelle Koehler: Gorgeous as always. I'd love to have the courage to wear wigs out for fun haha change my hair from long to short and change the colour. I would just feel silly going to the office with a wig on for no reason other than fun Great video and great tips. I've shared this with friends♥️

Lisa Klassen: I am currently going through immunotherapy treatments for stage 3 cancer and I was told there was only a 2 % chance I would get alopecia areata. It’s not officially diagnosed yet but I have patches all over my head and every day I’m losing more and more hair. It’s becoming very noticeable and I just want to cry because it doesn’t seem to be stopping and I’m already at about 40% hair loss. Thank you for making this video … it makes me feel less alone. And the new knowledge is power. I have a lot to learn about wigs but I feel like this is my best option right now.

Katrina d: Gorgeous! I love the way you styled it ❤️

💚 Amy-Lee Angel 💜: You are very beautiful! I'm so sorry that happened to you. Have you ever thought about a hair transplant to the sides? Some people mentioned using castor oil for traction alopecia. I know it worked for my eyebrows which I plucked to nothing in my teens. It helped them grow back to about 70%.

Lisa Monique Beauty: The wig looks great on you, I wouldn't have known if you didn't talk about it!

Nadia ASMR Studios: This wig looks so natural! I do t know It was a wig at the beginning of the video! I have a lot of wigs myself, just Got one from freedom couture. But mine always slip in the front lol! I need to bet that Got to b spray . Also I get headaches when I wear wigs which stinks! Do you get headaches or have any suggestions? Thanks!

Kira Bil: Perfeeeeeeito ♥️

Ellie Antar: Thank you for your excellent demo's.I am a middle-aged woman new to wig/topper wearing because of extensive hair loss. Do you have any suggestions for a low volume wig/topper? and suggestions for hairstyles for mature ladies..Does the hair glue irritate the skin? Thank you

Erin Marie: How long do you keep the wig on?

Jill hebert: I can't believe that's a wig that's the best one I've seen so far !!

Enjoli Turner: 600 bucks!! That's almost rent! I don't care how much of a "steal" that is, I could never feel justified to pay 600 for a wig. Maybe, if I was single, with no kids...and I made good morning. Lol. It's a beautiful wig tho.

Simone B: Gorgeous!

Ellie Antar: Thank you for your excellent videos..do you have suggestions for hairstyles for older women,,

Maya C: I never wear wig. Thinking about getting one. My concern is if I were to find a man I like and he found out I wear a wig how would he take it? If he leave me because he found out I have thinning hair that would break my heart more than if he isn’t interested in my upfront because of my problem. What do you think about it? Thanks for the video ☺️

Bella M: It’s looks so pretty on you !!!

Kathleen Daubel: Great vid bravo. Maybe film a how to remove wig, esp how to dissolve hair sprays or glue without damaging lace? I’m intimidated w idea of safely removing Got2B and not ruining my wig.

Obsidian Scorpius: Where do they get their hair from? For their human hair wigs?

Whitney Howard: Hey I’m Whitney I have 2 types of alopecia . Scared I have had it for years been to doc and they have done everything they can it work fo r awhile but now my hair is falling out like nobody business it’s scarring me I’m only 36 I have rheumatoid arthritis since I was 3 so of course I have a lot of medical problems but I just wasn’t my hair to be okay or to find away to do what you are doing I bought keranique but it’s still nothing but falling out help please

11: wow the wig is beautiful on you straight!

HarleyQuinnForTheWin Last: Hi, I've a dumb question. My hair is very thin and fine... Getting thinner. I've a few Wigs that I have shortened and thinned out. Even after thinning they still look huge. It's this in my head? Like, I'm so used to basically no hair that looking like I have hair send exaggerated?
