Some case it is nappy-poo. I look on your screen today. It'S a bit like video. I want to talk about the pros and the cons of using wigs to protect your natural kinks. Alright, every fool checking in so your girls I'll go put your screen with no type of makeup on, except for his little lip gloss and my eyebrows. I have really been filling my skin lately, like she's, been doing pretty well and I just felt like I don't want to put anything on it today. So so, if you new to this channel when it's not a skin tone, a beautiful video, I hardly ever would come on with no makeup on I've, never recorded an entire video, no makeup on so first time for everything I hope you. I find it pleasing if not it's okay, you'll be alright, just bear through the rest of the video, because it's a lot of information here, I don't want you to miss it. Okay, something else that I want you to miss it's when I'm all up on your screens, if you're not subscribed to netiquette TV, please get your life together, okay and subscribe. If you don't see my face at least on a Sunday in your subscription list, that means you're not being notified. Okay, we got to make sure that does not happen so hit that Bell. Okay, shout out to her give your hair 40 minute with me on this video. They sent me two beautiful Eunice turkey, key blowout unit, the full wig and the? U part wig, okay. So what so? What is protective styling simply plate? It is a style that protects your natural hair, it protects it from you and what i mean by that is manipulation. You know. If your hair is out, you go to style it you're gon na do some stuff, that's manipulation, so protect the style, protects your hair from the manipulation a you put on it. You tell me it's a way for your natural hair to take a little break. Go on a little mini, vacay mini mini vacay. I just stress that some of y'all be giving it along. They came. You know you are six months protective styling! That'S a different video! We'Ll talk about that later. You'Re, not protective styling. If your ends are out okay, what are you protecting cuz? The part that really needs the main protection? Are your ends this the oldest part? You know it's your elders. They are friends with anyone, love more care filming if your eyes are all out and about you're, more low-maintenance tiling and not really protective styling. The protective styling technically is with all your ends. Not all hair is tucked away and it's on vacay. Okay, now, normally, I protect the style with a full wig of frontal, but sometimes I do use you part ways. Let'S talk about that? U part wig your part, which can be a protective style and just depends on it. Just depends on how you style it with your hair. That'S me and left out, but most times it's a low-maintenance style if it isn't being a high-maintenance style. It'S because you are continuously manipulating the hair. That'S left out to blend in with the unit I nine times out of ten choose au per unit that can blend into my hair, and I don't have to do too much work because keep in mind the kink of your texture is the less you need to Be manipulating it on a regular basis, so you probably is there something you wan na? It'S just something you want to use all the time, probably not cuz, no matter how careful you are no matter how simple you style, it you're still manipulating your natural hair. That'S left out to be mindful of that. It'S top benefit of using! U part wig is how natural it can look, because you do have you here out in the front and nine times out of time nine times out of ten, you have it out on the side, probably in the back, so usually the most natural look when it Comes to rocking unis, but it is the most high-maintenance option because your hair has to be out oh yeah, whenever I rock it, I try to choose simple styles that still has mine. That still has my hair. That'S left out, protect it away twist it away tucked away in some type of weight, I'm not really being the best example here, but the best way to attach these type of units - el, wigs, you wigs, half wigs - is to sew it on that's the less tension. As opposed to using the combs in the clips, if I were to flatter in my hair, just sucker with blending seamlessly okay, now, let's talk about a full week, whether it's a full last week or a lace-front week or 360 week, you do it right! Your hair! Can flourish honestly, you will see great results. If you do it wrong, your head was so fun. It was so fun very month and we don't want these. We don't want your hair just so fun, because you're trying to be cute with weeds. No let the week make you do it and bald head scallywag underneath coffee week. No, let's talk about it and now we're gon na talk about protective styling with wigs, which is one of my favorite way when it comes to this compared to you parts. This is definitely my best option. Cuz. All my hair is tucked away, which is good. My hair going a full vacay that whole you see right there y'all side note whatever you bleach the knocks on your units, it does weaken that lay so stuff like that could happen alright. But yes, when you're using protective styles like wigs or even braids, twist senegalese twist, whatever have you where your hair is tucked all the way, that's the best way to protect the style, but your hair is truly on a break now. The reason I like wig so much is because I still have access to my hair underneath my hair underneath is usually in cornrows or in plats, and I will moisturize it every single night. I want to take my wig off now, if you have, if you had unsuccessful experience with wigs there's a couple of things you want to keep in mind, how are you taking care of your hair underneath? How is your hair underneath my house, it is it braided? It'S just twisted: are you super moisturizing it nightly when you take off the wig? Are you taking off the wig every night, then? How are you applying it to your head? Are you using lace, tape or using lace glue? Is that elastic band way too tight are using combs Clips, like all of that plays a role in the success of your experience using a wig. I guess I could say I kind of have a hang of how I like to rock my units, but I have to tell you it didn't always start off like this. Now there was a point in time which I really probably shouldn't capture this on video but um. I was using the wrong way. I noticed in front of my hair getting thinner and you know, and everything else on this label, but why why suede and I realized, if I'm gon na use wigs to protect my hair. I need to remember that this lace, the closure and so on. It'S not sad, it's not silk. So therefore it is not kinky, hair, friendly, okay, the stocking cap, I'm gon na use is not saying it's not silk, so it's not kinky hair friendly. So therefore it there are some things you need to be doing. If you're gon na use a full wig, how are you deciding to attach your wigs? Whatever method you choose, make sure it is not causing you tension throughout the day that you're getting a headache that is a no-no. Okay, you want your hair to grow addy. You want food, washes, edges and B and K if you are doing styles that are way too tight up here. Detention is the enemy of your progress and we do not want any more progress to meet your hair enemy of progress but school. So therefore, don't do things that will cause a lot of tension up here. Okay, along with the tension that you want to be mindful of also house the stability of your wig, is it continuously slipping? Here'S. My theory on that y'all remember how I said the lace is not kinky. Hair for the hair is not hair friendly. Okay, it's rough to texture and it can cause a lot of friction that friction consistently being rubbed against in your front, because when it slides when it slides back, what do you do you slide it forward? It slides back, you smile it forward that can cause thinning. Is that in your front area too, and again, whether or not want to let that enemy of progress to win? So we must take it back by force, hey so so compensate for that. What I get differently is make sure my band, okay, make sure the fan. It'S not too tight like. I need you to be tight enough that you stay on my head, but that's in a place that I'm consistently having to move it up down, because it's giving me a headache that is not the business. Another option is to use some type of adhesive my favorite way of doing it is yes, the glue glue gel that is okay, whether the dots of equals gel. Sometimes I might use you remember this spritz hey, so I got sleeping on this, but this little spritz, you spray it. Let it dry put your picture week on top, it holds pretty. Well, too, doesn't I'm, I use have got to be hairspray also, but the one that I use consistently is the gel, the black gel to be specific, another good option. If you go under Jill, it's a wig bag, they have the ones that are fabric and they have ones that are silicone to that. Can cause you're picking, keep your wig in place and not let it slide back now and also. We would like to slow down their wigs, which is fine. If that's what your lifestyle requires. It'S fine y'all. I just think on a weekly basis. Take it off, treat your hair sew it back on. That'S just my opinion. Okay, so let's do a recap: real, quick y'all! You parties can be your best friend. It can be your worst enemy. It just depends on you. One thing I want to say is: choosing you part that your hair, as you're leaving out, can blend into seamlessly. Without you having to put too much work into it, okay, let that you part will work for you. Whole week's can be a lot of fun. It'S definite. We took the side because none of your hair is up, but let's just make sure we still be in my folks of our hair, so make sure the hair is moisturized well underneath and as for the wig, no slipping and sliding in no tension. Alright so hope you have found today's video helpful. I hope the tips are helpful and with that being said, let's get into today's that chat question. I would love to know what y'all tips are: okay when it comes to protective styling with wigs you'll parts raise twist. Deyonda Johnson: I wear wigs everyday but I wear my satin BONNET underneath so my hair is always protected and it's great when I get home the wig comes off and my bonnet is already on my head

semmi98: I did not even notice that you had no make-up on gir. you stunning !

Signe West: I think my hair flourishes more when I wear Senegalese twist but I am starting to wear more wigs (front lace/360). I'm glad your back, I missed my NappyFu tv & now I'll stay out your inbox.... Makeup or no makeup, your still beautiful!

Harlin NP: My tip is simple as can be...PRAYER! Pray that you install your protective style correctly. Pray that you hydrate enough. Pray that it’s not too tight. Pray that you’re edges won’t be snatched. Pray that your edges/hair will not thin out. PRAY THAT YOUR HAIR WILL GROW AND THICKEN! AMEN MY SISTAS!

Tammy Kelly: Girl please!!! You look very beautiful. By the way I'm loving that wig. And it looks good on you. You Go Girl!!!

Sosa: Your Skin is GLOWING!!! Smooth and rich x

asukachan07: I've just never been interested in wigs or weaves. I can appreciate seeing them on others though, and yours looks bomb! Thanks for the upload, missed you!

Michelle Ajema: "Let that U- part work for U". That could actually be a cheesy marketing line. LOL!

Antonette Crosdale: Yea Nappy is back , your skin is lovely ...and beautiful woman of God ... I love your hair ..

Fuller Wms.Evans: Wigs are not for me, however the wigs you are sampling are really cute. I normally wear my hair in bantu knots or two strands twist with a cute scarf or head band. This works for me.

Woodtunes Music, Inc.: “...bald head scalawag...!” <— HILARIOUS!!!!

M Hines: Your skin is beautiful and flawless. Keep the natural look, I love it. That’s all we all need is lip gloss, eye liner and eye brows. I love the whole wig the best too. Love ya girl!!!!!

Gislaine: you look gorgeous

Nishimwe Esther: Your skin though ❤️❤️

jujubeeens: Loved this video and I love the hair! Can you put the link in the description box for those of us who need lots of help when it comes to wigs? Thank you! ❤️

amoryll36: But wait! That's a wig girl? I thought that was all you. Flawless

L Cashmoney: Welp, that's funny you mentioned protective styling methods.. I've been protective styling since June by using Marley hair wrapped around my real hair also hair wraps/scarves.. I'm loving it! Just ordered some clip ins as well..

Aurora Autumn: Marley twist everyday and all day. It’s one of the few styles that I know how to do myself and it last for about three weeks until I need a wash.

Thea Harris: I really do love your videos, your charisma and personality blossoms so well in everything you produce. I’m slowly starting to accept my hair type (which is like 4c/5a maybe it doesn’t exist). But I understand it better.

K G: Educational and hilarious, I love it I wear wigs CONSTANTLY but usually stick to full cap wigs. There's no lace or combs harrassing my edges and it's literally just a pop on and go. Few downsides being the styles can be a bit more limiting than actual lace wigs and you have to take a few steps to secure it(usually hair pins)but it's worth it to me.

Wanyenze: I AM EARLY!!!!! I’ve been trying to dedicate myself to the wig life but CHIIILE E NO BE EASY Wait I thought you had makeup on. Skin is lovely!

Brownmahfun: Wigs can be convenient and a versatile way of wearing styles.

Beverly Jones-Gibson: I have decided that from now on during the summer, I will wear my hair in two-strand twists. This will give me various options for wearing a wig, (if it's not too hot and I'm not flashing too much!), or weaves, or just to tuck it into a bun. This will especially help when I go on vacation and don't want to carry my 'Yoncé' as my daughters call it! I have found that keeping my hair moisturized, my ends twisted into hanging Bantu Knots at night will keep my hair styled and healthy. I'll leave the majority of wearing wigs and weaves for fall and winter. This is my first year doing this, I'm praying it all goes well! Thank you for sharing the love/hate (ok hate is a harsh word, so aggravation) of styling my beautiful 4C hair! Love your vids <3 Power On My 4C Sisters!

Kortney Golden: You are always right on time. I'm awaiting my first custom made wig. I've never worn them but love the idea of giving my hair a break without braids. Writing down your tips

Jasimine Hall: Thank you. I used to wonder why the front part of my edges thinned out, but the sides not so much. I had the slipping issue.

Natalie: Your skin is poppin Nappy Fu! Love it, I know how that feels to conquer skin issues, Lol, it's the one thing that's so hard to get the hang of but once you do it's like a weight off your shoulders:)

4Knewt: good to see you in all your glowiness! thanks for the tip about protective styling versus low maintenance. I didn't know.

Neg'Mawon: I’m very pleased! Ain’t nobody got time to put makeup on with this heat

[[Drea J]]: You look gorgeous, Nappyfu!!! Your skin is clear and glowing, chiilllld! ❤ I love wigs as well. I only wear wigs to work and then it comes OFF!! Lol. What helps me is my satin wig cap and sometimes I'll wear a satin wig grip. They're lifesavers when it comes to retaining moisture and keeping my edges!

R. Danielle: Thank you NappyFu you have single handedly saved my natural 4c kinks!!! I Absolutely love my hair and taking care of it. Your Sunday videos are a blessing

Cenique: I love to use wigs as a protective style when I want a break or just a change up. Wigs have taken the place of sew-ins for me. I put on a silk or satin scarf first, then I put the wig cap on, then my wig. The silk or satin scarf protects my hair from the rough part of the wig closure.

Tammy Kelly: Thanks for the wig tips cause now I know why my edges are thin. Again thank you.

Jewel Tones: Yay, you’re back! Welcome back from your hiatus

Melly Mel: Thanks so much for the video!! I need to do more protective styles and get into the wigs. I am just not good at all the bleaching of knots and everything done to make it look more realistic.

Felicia Dunn: Yasssss Nappyfu! I’m glad you graced us with another successful video. I missed you so much. Thanks again!

Soulful Sheena: Wigs (full) will always be the only protective style I use. It allows me to care for my hair by using the LOC method, wash day (while in cornrows), access to steam while I shower, and I'm able to spray water on my hair daily. TFS! Your skin is gorgeous

Caramel Submerged: You're back?! You were missed !

T K: It’s way too hot and humid to rock a hair hat aka wig. I stay in buns and sometimes wrap extra hair for a little bit of volume. I tried a wig when I first went natural but when I took it off I felt like my actual hair wasn’t thick enough or long enough. So I don’t ever wear wigs or quick weaves. I’m always faced with the reality of my own hair and it’s actual density and length.... oh and your skin looks fantastic!

Bakaji: I’m new in the wig community so to say I’ve been wearing mine because of my new job for the past 6 months now And since about 2 months I have been using a diy wig cap in satin The difference is real honestly !!

Nomica Guillory: I'm so glad you did this video. I have minor heat damage and Ive been wearing a wig for 3 weeks now. Moisturizing my hair wvery other day. I just wondered if it is growing regularly or do wigs do damage????

A Flow: It will suffah! I love your sense of humor! I'm always smiling when I watch your videos.

Rachel S: Your skin looks sooo good! This video seriously is making me consider to hop on the wig train I’m scared to click the link and see the price, though. My pockets are already in distress this month lol!

defeatingfibromyalgia someday: I love the information that you give and you are a beautiful queen. Even though I don't wear wigs this is a very nice one. Again thank you for all of the information you give us.

Allison Laraque: First thing I noticed is how well your skin looks...consistency paying off...love HerGivenHair...but have to love them from a far

Yolanda: Due to my lifestyle I recommend glue, ghostbond, lasts up to 3 weeks. Do that cap method and for the most part none gets on your hair. If it does, use whatever oil in your house and it comes right out. Been wearing wigs since I been natural, been having edges since birth

Ms. Byrd: You are such a character! You make my day! Be blessed!

Vivian Ruffin: I'm loving the scriptures you have before you start your videos!! ❤❤

Brit'nee Supernal: Yes,I only wear wigs now.I comb my hair once a month and wash it depending on the level of activity Im doing.I keep my hair braided all the time. The only time I comb my hair is on wash day.I have soo much growth its crazy.I leave my hair alone that's the secret for faster hair growth.Moisturize, trim and wash when needed. Then put it in some braids or twist and leave it alone. I also wear my satin bonnet under my wigs,so I dont have to worry about damaged edges.

Ava Holloway: I love your videos...The scriptures...all the info...the accent with the faces you make lol

Medina Que: Yes. I am looking forward to your '6 month protective styling video'

Black Ceasar: Hi, Nappyfu! My husband and I agreed to allow our daughter to wear a weave when she enters 8th grade. Her hair type is 4c chin length hair. The following concerns I have are: How many weeks can a sew-in/w closure be worn? What is the maintenance? Should the hair stylist apply a protein treatment vs a deep conditioner? Thanks

BF WB: Where can I get that full lace wig you are wearing?

Tiffany M: Thank you for the tips. I think I want to try clip-ins for protective styling, any tips.

JerseyDiva82: I'm sooo happy you're back. I'm definitely taking advantage of full cap wigs this summer because this Ga humidity will NOT let my curls be great . I learned from my pre natural days u-part don't work for me because the constant heat I use to lay the front. To this day my texture in the front my hair is looser than the rest.

Tamara G: Thanks for coming back all up on my screen! And you are beautiful without makeup. Rock it girl!

Its OyadoyinPalace: Loving that wig on you ! & I love your channel so much Your the 4c Queen & You glowing

Diba Lowen: Another great video ! Your skin looks amazing ooooooo!

curlymht: Your skin is thriving and looks great. Also love this style of wig on you.

Pokute lover: Been waiting a while for her to post. Glad to see you back

Lauraville NECOP Auntie M.: Can you do a video on the silicone band to preserve your edges? I usually have my hair cornrowed. I noticed my edges were thinning.

Kathi Moses: I just started my " WIG" journey so this was SO HELPFUL. Ya girl had full wings, lace wigs, front wigs, and back wigs and they all wear differently. Now I have more direction. Because that LACE you rocked in this vid was everything! As always - Thanks sis! Xoxo

CARTERMADE 86: The kinky blow out wig looks so pretty on you and the bible verses in your videos always be right on time

Wairimu Muriga: I must have watched just about all your videos by now and you look so good without the makeup. If you're feeling it, go for it, but you look really really good this way :)

seaglass: Right on time! Wigs and which is best and how to prep are my latest natural hair thoughts. Never worn one or a weave or crochet or the like, so thank you for the insight. Looking like a bombshell by the way!

Elizabeth BTS: Long time no see girl, I really missed you. I’m glad you’re back, love you

Lanell S: Finally a video from NappyFu ♥️

Ty: I missed you all up in my screen. Thanks for the wig tips.

Amoy Clunis: Well you sure did fill up my screen

Raven: You're so much fun to watch . Thanks for the wig tips too

ashalinas1: You're a beautiful woman in and out sister

Bre's Natural Life: Hey Nappy Fu! Where have you been? I've missed your videos. Glad your back! Skin is glowing! Okay now!

Crystal Rochelle: Yes! I missed you girl! You look so fresh and gorgeous

Mary Burley: Been a fanlove the SKIN and LOVE LOVE the hair. Come thru Sunday glow

First Name: That wig is awesome, Very realistic

Stephanie McGee: Hey Nappyfu I don’t sleep in my wigs. I moisturize my hair everyday. I wear a wig grip so that I don’t manipulate my edges too much. The front combs are a no no. I use the back one by tucking it under the wig grip only.

kimberly benton: I think you have covers all of the tips. I wear wigs all the time. They have really helped with my hair growth.

Sabrina Johnson (Banyan Creek ES): I love your video!!! Your hair look amazing and healthy I love your length that’s my goal!!

connie A.: Girl you look good without makeup. Love the look

Megan M: Your skin is gorgeous and you are too girl! Never apologize to us about wearing no makeup. I believe like our hair, skin needs to breath as well. This is how my skin cleared up letting it breath (makeup free) along with skin care.

Anre' Robichaux: NAPPY FUUUUUUUUU!!! Sis you look amazing! I love this blowout look on you! Especially with the fresh face! I am here for it!

Asha Hair Care: I have got to say you are a joy to watch. very informative and very creative

TheElleFactorAgain: Any thoughts about Sisterlocks on 4c hair? Would love to hear your thoughts ☺ thanks for all you do!!!

illy B: Great tips! Can you do a video of how you apply the glue and how you take it off at the end of the day.

Dorothea Cole: I love when you speak in your African dialect. My brother in law is from Uganda and I showed him your video. He loved it.

CurlyChemist: First madam, madam where have you been? Madam!!?? Although I don't wear my hair natural anymore, a good protective style is always in order. I usually wear braids, crochet braids, and flat twist. I tried wigs for awhile, but it got too hot for me. My main advice is to make sure u keep ur hair moisturized, a good moisturizer before u put ur hair away. If u wear braids for more than 2 weeks wash ur scalp. The extension hair will need a good rinsing by then.

Tara Walker: Love you, NF!

Tenecia Brown: Missed u Nappy Fu girl!!! I am afraid of wigs for ALL dem reasons u mentioned. My protective styles inclued single braids and crochet braids ONLY. About to try faux locs for the first time on Friday......pray for me. Lol!!!

Julia Bell: You look good. Forget the makeup you don't need it.

D J: I found my edges were being pulled out with the combs so I remove them altogether and use Bobby pins sporadically if needed

nancy breaux: Oh by the way make sure you sew it neatly and smooth all the way around so you won't have loose frayed fabric pieces hanging out when you sew it around the Perimeter of your wig full lace are you u part, and buy satin that matches the closest to your wig color.

Morgan Ferguson: I wear buns, on the top of my head and pulled to the back. I also twist or braid my hair and wear hats or head wraps. I’ve found that I have weak edges so braids don’t work for me. Marley twists or feed ins are probably possible. I also like wigs and I’ve been natural almost 4 yrs so the longer my hair has gotten the more I struggle w having a flat foundation under my wigs bc I don’t know how to braid

Vivian Ruffin: Loving the video!!! Yassssss ❤❤

a1stevenson: I noticed your braces, I just got mine 3 months ago. Life changer for sure Mine are for crowding and I am already seeing good results. Enjoyed your hair video
