Hair Topic Headband Wig Review/ Starter Lock Update.

What'S up youtube, i'm shakoya and welcome back to my channel. If you want to see a two week, hair update then stay tuned okay. So it's been two weeks um since i got my starter locks done and i'll show you what i'm working with this is again. Two weeks i have some, i i think i will call it slippage. I have some slippage here and on this other side, and also these are intact, but i have some slippage in the back. Also, if you can see some slippage there, i'm actually um still trying to decide. If i want to keep them because i don't know i just feel like i don't know, i got to think about it um. I just feel like it's not very flattering on me. Um so - and i don't - i know that some people's locks look good and some people's locks don't look good, and so i guess i should just wait until it grows out a little bit and locks up and then i'll be able to tell you know what it Will look like i definitely like the way it looks on camera. I like the natural of it and um. I actually have a surprise for you, guys, um. I was in the beauty, supply store and i know i said that i wasn't going to buy any more wigs because i was so disappointed, but i actually saw one in the beauty supply store that i thought was made pretty. Okay, pretty you know, the construction was okay and i thought oh, you know. I think i want to try this. You know because not i'm not. I decided that i don't want to wear like um lace, part wigs because, like i have i i don't know. If it's like an allergy, i think it might be an allergy, but the lace like irritates my scalp and i wear a lace wig to work and by the time i get home, my wig is pushed way back like all the way back like you can like, Because i'm always i'm constantly scratching and shifting and it's just very uncomfortable and also um, i had some bad experiences. I spent you know um. I bought two wigs one was 90 and then the other one was 90.. They both were 90.. So that's 180. I spent on wigs that i felt like were not wearable um and that was the uh bobby boss, active collection, straight wig that i got it was very thin and then there was nothing to secure. There were combs, but the uh uh um back only had like um. You know those those tabs in the wigs that you can kind of hook onto the fabric and tighten it only had that, and i didn't feel like that was very a very secure um. A very secure construction and then also there was a diva queen kinky straight wig that i reviewed that i felt like wasn't. Wearable, the um, the tracks in the front where the headband was placed uh had a like a sort of like a lump like a hump, and when i inserted the comb there was like a lot. There was a little bit of a hump there and it just didn't look natural, so i decided to um give those away. So now i'm going to be um uh trying i'm i'm not saying that i'm going to be back in two weeks, but i wanted to try this one. I saw it in the store and i just immediately was like oh my gosh. I think this might be a good option, but i don't know i haven't taken it out the package and i haven't worn it. So that's what we're going to do we're going to take it out of the package and wear it. This is a hair topic band. Wig is kankalon and toya kalon hair and it's heat safe, um, it's in the color 1b and it's banned. I don't know if you can see that bandwig002 is what it's called and it's by hair topic. So one thing that i immediately noticed: well, i glanced at it for a short while, while i was in the car and one thing that i noticed was um that the uh hair had like a shine to it. But now that i look at it in natural light, it's not um. It'S not a very prominent shine. Give me one. Second, i got ta get my scissors yeah, so um, it's not now that i look at it out of the sunlight. The shine is not um. As uh, it's not as shiny as it looked in the box when i was in the car - and i would say it's about 22 inches long - that's the length there give you an idea, it's about 22 inches long, maybe a little bit longer and um. Here is the top of the wig, the very top like i said that diva queen wig had like a lip. It had a really big comb that went across here. It was about this long and then it had like a lip right here that made it look. Really unnatural, so that doesn't have that, and then here is the inside of the wig. Here are two combs in the front one comb in the back right here and then it's got like some mesh material to keep the hair from coming through. The cap, which i like here is the um velcro strap. Hopefully, that uh is tight enough for me um and then it also has hopefully that adjusts to my head size. I have an a 21.5 size head and then we have these also, so i'm just going to put them not on the tightest setting, but as close as i possibly can i'm going to hook them on there. They really don't do anything, but the cap doesn't feel really big um and, like i said this, it's a little bit of a sheen. I would say it's like a. I don't want to say it's a light, yaki texture, but i think it's a light. Yaki texture and then there's a little bit of a sheen. I don't know how that's coming off on camera, so i'm going to uh do my baby hairs and then i'm going to put on the wig. I really wish i didn't have to put anything on my on my edges. I wish i could just i'm using the she is bomb edge, control um. I tried it uh. I tried it once before on my hair and i didn't feel like it gave that great of a hold um just put a little bit. I think i put a little too much. I really shouldn't be putting anything in my locks but i'll wipe it out with a washcloth later on where'd i put my stocking cap. I don't lost my stocking cap. Oh it's on my head, oh wow, all right! So that's that just a little edge control and then i'm going to put the wig on. I don't plan on putting um i'm going to tuck the comb in. I don't plan on putting anything in the wig because um i want to extend the life of it. I'M just hooking this on trying to get the hair out of the way i didn't realize how let me just make sure this is on right. I should have brought like a ponytail holder. I think it's on a little crooked, so i'm gon na take the comb out. It'S weird, i don't know um, it doesn't tighten as tight as i would like, and the strap in the back kind of hangs down a little bit. Let me see if i can fix it. That'S see this is what i'm talking about here with this comb. I'M gon na take the comb out that lip area that happens when you insert the comb is not what it is, so i'm gon na brush it am. I getting any shedding i'm getting a lot of shedding a lot of shedding i'll show you, but i figured i would go to the hair store and just look and see if i could find something that um was inexpensive because i just i don't want to take The risk of ordering from china or wherever and then spending hundreds of dollars on a wig and then it coming, and then it not being um it not being what i expected and being very disappointed and not being able to get my money back. So this one is okay um. That hair is like kind of stuck in place there, but this one is okay. I mean it'll work for right now. Um i'll show you the back in a second i'm getting a lot of shedding, though a lot of shedding and my first impressions of the wig are usually um pretty spot on so, but i'm definitely getting a lot of shedding a lot of shedding. But at least i didn't pay 90 for this wig. You know what i'm saying: that's that's the big takeaway here, like i'm spending hundreds of dollars on these wigs and uh. You know i just feel like disappointed, but this one is okay. I mean it'll do for now, and the hair is nice and soft and i don't know how i'm going to get this edge control out of my locs, but we'll we'll figure it out and yeah just something temporary.
