Hello, my name is Zee quiet and welcome to Sookie sacks wigs 101 series. So if you haven't caught our first video how to shop for a bye week, I'm going to put that down in the description box below please go check that out. It'S great information, especially if you're a beginner to wigs you don't want to miss that it will help you before we get in today's video. This is the second video of the week series, wigs 101 and in today's video we're going to be talking to you about wig, lingo or wig terms, so it is a new decade and with the new decades, so many people are now getting in on wearing wigs. It'S a huge trend, a big thing and wigs have been here forever and ever and ever, but back in the day they were kind of more of a taboo and a secret thing. But now honey people like car to be Beyonce to your best friend at work are rocking wigs, and so we just want to get you caught up and get you in the know about wigs for the new decade. So before we get into the wig lingo. Let me introduce myself, my name is akia, I'm the creator and founder of silky Saks. A silky stack is a luxurious silk line bag that I designed to not only store your wigs but protect them. The silk lining in the bag allows the wig hair to just glide, cutting down on tangling Maddie and getting them all dried out so that they will last longer. But we're not here to talk about that. If you're interested in silky sex, I will have the link to the website down in the description box below and you're welcome, to check that out later, but as for now, let's get into the second video of the series and get into wig words and vocabulary. The first thing we want to talk about is types there are human hair. Wigs, a human hair wig is exactly what it sounds like a human hair wig. It could usually comes from a donor or that'd, be someone who is growing out their hair specifically to sell to companies who make wigs or out of india where the women come and soccer the hair. And then the temples sell the hairs later on to companies who make the hair. Then the hair is gathered in turn into a wig, clippings, etc, etc. Synthetic hair synthetic hair is man-made and is usually comp made up of plastic, fibers and materials. They come in different colors and sizes, and usually synthetic hair tends to be cheaper than human hair, since it is man-made human hair blend. A human hair blend wig is a blend of both human hair and synthetic hair density. When you see someone talking about the density of the wig they're talking about the thickness of the wig and how much hair is actually sewn into the wigs cap, the higher the number, the more density and the thicker, the in the volume of the wig will be. You will hear people talk about how the wig is made is its own. That means someone took and sat at a machine and actually sewed the weft onto the cap to create the way, there's also hand tied wigs, which means that the person who created the wig did not use a machine that actually use their tools and took and tied Individual knots to create each strand of hair into the cap to create the way capsize the cap size is the actual size of the cap of the wig. So if you have thicker hair or a bigger head, then you would want a larger cap size. If you have a smaller head, then you would want a small cap size cap construction. When you see cap construction they're talking about the way the cap is made, some caps are open. Some are made on nets, whether they're closed they're, all different type of cap constructions. So, as you get more into ways, you'll figure out which cap construction you, like the best, a weft - is pieces of hair that are sewn together to make an extension, and then those pieces are put together to actually create the wig u-part wig. So a u-part wig is a wig that at the very top of the wig there's a u-shape cut. That way you can pull your actual hair through and on top of the wig to cover it up. It'S a great way to start if you're intimidated by wearing a full-on wig, a half wig. So a half wig is the same concept as a u-part wig, except with the half wig. You literally only have half the wig, so you're gon na have to pull out more of your hair and use that to cover up and be a part of the wig. These type of wings are great for people who have really thin hair or maybe looking for a fuller look, a lace front. Wig is a week that has lace stitched on to the front of it to create the hairline, and this actually makes the wig look more realistic and less detectable ear to ear. Lace is lace that comes literally from one side of the ear to the other side of the ear, so that the lace is going straight across and stretched all the way across the face. A lace, frontal wig is where the lace is extended. So, instead of the lace just being in the very front of the cap, it's extended wider. It usually goes deeper into the cap and wider across the cap. Giving the hairline more versatility a 360 lace front is when the lace is extended. All the way around the wig, so that way the hairline looks natural all the way around, allowing you to style it in updos and ponytails, without the way being detectable in the hairline being more believable. Hd lace is the latest technology to come out in wigs, and this lace is so good and so much of a premium and thin lace that when you put it on your head, it literally is really hard to detect the hairline from your own melting. So when you hear people saying you melted that lace they're talking about putting the wig on and how, when they put the different adhesive, whether I that be glue or a hairspray or a tape, the lace literally looks like it melts it into the skin, making it Really really hard to detect that there's even a wig there, the hairline, the hairline, is just what it sounds like like the hairline on your head. Wigs have a hairline and usually if the hair is really really thick on the hairline. That'S a telltale sign that it is a weight. Line of demarcation is wet. Once you put the wig on your head, it actually is where the wig starts and usually is the hairline. You want to do a good job of camouflaging that so that people can't see that it's actually a wig and see where your real hair would start, as opposed to where the wig, if pre plucked so pretty plucked, is something that has just been added within these. Last few years to wigs so usually wigs would come with that really really thick hair line, which is a telltale sign of the wig, because nobody's hair line is that thick, usually hair is pretty thin at the hairline. So when the wig says it's been pre plucked, that means that someone, the manufacturer, has taken the time to pluck the hairs or make the hairline more thin so that it looks more realistic, parting space. So when you here, RC wig, talking about parting space, they're, referring to the front of the wig, usually it'll be a measurement. So, for instance, maybe four by four that's saying you have four inches forward and on the sides to go ahead and create the part that you want, whether you want to part it in the middle, the left or the right with parting space. You have those options. Deep part, a deep part means that the parting on the wave goes back into the wig, usually maybe five inches four inches are a little bit more. This also helps the wig look more realistic, filler hairs. Filler hairs are small, little hairs, usually in the top of the wig. Usually, if a wig has bangs or a lot of volume, they will put that in there to help make the hair thicker baby hair. So baby hair is either you like it usually or you just don't. A lot of wigs are now coming with baby, hair and they're, just small hairs along the hairline that you can gel down to your forehead, our gel back into the weight to help the wig. Just look a little bit more realistic and help to hide that line of demarcation, ear tabs are tabs on the side of your wig. They come close to your ear and they're, made to just lay down on your temples and help the weight to stay secure and make it look more realistic, silky, texture, so silky, texture, hair means the hair is just a little bit more fine and refined, and sometimes Silky texture, hair will kind of have like a shine to it. Yaki texture, yaki, texture, hair, is hair, that's a little bit more thick and a little bit more coarse and it usually mimics african-american hair high heat are heat resistant. So when you see high heat are heat resistant on a wigs packaging. That means that the wig is able to take heat. Human hair wig can usually take Heat, but not all synthetic wigs can take heat. Like I said earlier, the synthetic hair is made of plastic, so you want to make sure if you're buying a synthetic wig that it does say, heat resistance and then it should say the temperature that it can go up to make sure you pay attention to that, Because you don't want to melt or burn up your way, so there you have it that is the most up-to-date and latest and greatest terms in the wig wearing world.
