Hi, i'm rochelle the mother of the mother-daughter team, godiva secret, wigs and i'm so happy to be with you today, and i want to address a question that i believe mainly new wig wears or wig virgins have, and that is when they receive a wig. It feels too tight, so i'm saying this is normally for brand new wig wearers because they haven't adjusted yet to how a wig feels secure yet comfortable. A wig should never give you a headache, but if it feels too tight, i want to give you some easy suggestions that i've been using for years with many clients: okay, so i'm holding a sweet, little christy, wig and actually i'm wearing sabrina today. Isn'T it cute, but what you do the first thing to try if you know you're going to keep the wig, but it feels a little too tight hold the top and hold the bottom where the label is and all you're going to do is stretch count to 30. and then let it go and try it on brand new, wigs they've never been tried on and you don't want them too loose. The warmth from your head is going to start loosening and just wearing the wig. You wear the wig within 15-20 minutes. It'S going to start to loosen but say you're going to wear it now tonight. If you need to gently you're, not just yanking it but gently stretch, it and i say stretch it because at godiva's secret, wigs, all of our wigs are reinforced on each side with elastic and the elastic is brand new. So you've got one piece of elastic and then you have the other elastic that is part of the wig attached to the wig, okay, so just by stretching the entire base of the wig. That should really do it for you, okay, the next suggestion back to these little sizers is hold one of the sizers and just stretch that it's easy really just loosen it up a little bit and then do the other side so count to 30. Try it on. If you need to do the other side, do it again? I can even feel from this. I already started loosening up the side a little bit, and this, i feel, is tighter, remember the elastic here. It'S like a little bra, strap, you can tighten it or you can loosen it or the next step is. You can actually cut this elastic off, not on both sides to start okay and remember so i'm i'm kind of telling you from the simplest without changing the wig at all, to now we're getting a little more comprehensive in actually cutting this piece off and what i Would do is i would leave it attached to this side and cut it where the little metal uh little metal pieces we'll call it that, because, if, in the event that you want to put it back, you could always skip the metal piece and just sew the Elastic back on the wig for reinforcement, so try, if you must slit it cut it. Let that strap hang while you try the wig on again see how that feels. Maybe wear it a little bit if you cut both it's going to be very loose on you, and maybe that's just what you want, but just take it step by step by step and remember in our 300 plus videos on our youtube channel godiva's secret, wigs danielle Shows you how to make wigs larger make them smaller, all kinds of different tutorials that you'll probably find very interesting. So these are the simplest steps. Believe me, they make a huge difference. So take your time with the new wig put it on. Don'T just put it on quick and expect it to be perfect work with it. A little bit stretch it a little bit if you need to, and also if you're a new wig wearer many women can just bang put their wig on and they wear it. Eight hours the first day, but that's not everyone, sometimes like glasses, like contacts like anything else that we are not used to it, takes us a little time so maybe wear it for an hour or two the first time, the next time you wear it. Hopefully, the next day, then you wear it another hour or two longer and you will get used to it. The people around you will get used to it and i know you are going to love our wigs. So thank you for watching. I hope this helps and we'll talk to you soon. Bye, you

JoAnn Kodama: These tips are really helpful! I was thinking it's time to give up on wigs as even the large size is too small. I've gotten two toppers, which I love, but sometimes I just want a change that only wigs can provide. I only wish you had more of a selection for us large heads, both in styles and colors. I always love the average only styles, a bummer! Thanks for your tips!

Candy Chand: I have a big head. In both senses of the term . I’m too small for a large and too big for a regular. I cut both elastic pieces, and it worked perfectly for me. Thanks for the extra suggestions.

JoAnn Kodama: Hi Rochelle, I made the 2-1/2 hour drive to visit the Woodland Hills store. I have a large head and wanted to try on some large cap wigs. I wanted a light grey wig. Tiffany was so helpful and brought out the average size Trixie in silver stone, and she said it came in a large size. I loved the style and color; however, silver stone is not offered in the large Trixie. I was ready to order it and was bummed! Will you be adding this color in large Trixie? You mentioned in my other comment that Tiffany will be coming out in a large cap in a few months. Will this be offered in silver stone? Loved visiting the store, and like I mentioned, Tiffany is an asset to your business! She was very helpful!

Susan Cashmore: Yay! Monday Morning is here with another great video! I hadn’t seen your stretch first tip. It will probably help a lot of ladies! I have made your average cap wigs larger following Danielle’s video. That gives me lots of choices of colors and styles now for my larger cap size head. Thank you so very much for all you do to help us! I am getting lots of compliments on my hair now and it still takes me back because I haven’t had compliments on my hair for several years now. We even had our family picture taken yesterday.... I’m excited to see if I look younger than our last one five years ago!

Cian: I have been wearing Godiva's Secret Wigs for a couple of years now and love them! I have 23" circumference but the large size wigs have too much hair for me and the average size wigs are too tight, so I purchase the average size wigs and insert elastic pieces to enlarge. But I find that if I don't put wig tape on my wig grip band and then stick it to the back of my neck, my wig grip band and wig keep slipping up the back of my head while wearing. But the wig tape applied in this way also bothers me because it somewhat restricts my head/neck movement. I can't seem to get it to feel comfortable AND so it stays in place all day. Any ideas? Thank you ☺

Cian: Wow! Thank you Rochelle! I did not think of the tip about stretching & holding each of the elastic sides for 30 seconds each. :)

TheBereangirl: Okay, I feel a little better. After months of looking, I finally earned enough money and I pulled the trigger by ordering two wigs only to find I have an enormous cranium at 23 1/2" at the occipital bone. I had to return the wigs that I wanted as they didn't fit AT ALL; I couldn't even get them on my huge heeeeeeed!!! I thought I was average, so much for that assumption. Then I went through the possibility of getting top pieces...ugh, not what I wanted, but now I feel fairly confident in ordering Freedom and Rochelle (not my first choices, but still nice) in Large (23") and just stretch them the 1/2". I was so disappointed, I just wanted to do something for me, but this whole ordeal has now become quite a chore - not fun any more. At least I have the reassurance that I'm not the only one with an enormous melon. Thanks Rochelle.

Marla Robinson: that wig looks so cute on you! Very helpful tips.

Candy Chand: I have to cut both sides, then stretch them, to get a perfect fit. I have the biggest head ever, and have never been able to wear anything on my head, including hats. Even men’s hats just pop off my head, like a bad cartoon. . But I love your gorgeous wigs, so I make them work.

Percyuwu: Thank you for making this video! I’ve been making headaches when I’m wearing wig. Is it because the wig is too tight? And is it normal to experience headaches while wearing wig?

Paula Sidley: Thanks for this I have 2wigs that are a bit tight you are amazing xx

Corinna Yorke: Such helpful information!!!! Thank you! ❤️

CrystalEmerald Diamond: I think i must also have a big head. After receiving my new wig and trying it on, I found that it just kept rolling up from the back of my neck and kept popping off. i worked with the wig fitting video for two days being very careful not to damage or stretch anything on the wig. I moved the side stretchy bits to their widest position on both sides, however I chose not to cut them as I was beginning to suspect i might have to return the wig. As I tried to put it on again it still kept rolling back up from the nape of my neck even though i had a small pony tail "knob" on which to anchor it. I was so disappointed about that because the wig was gorgeous.

Laura 1984: I am the first to comment!!!! I don’t know how to stretch the wig before this. Such a great feature! I am enjoying your videos and smiles! I am enjoying studying all the wigs and colors to pick out what would look good on me! It would be for fun for me!

jennifer phillips: Great tips ! Does the wig your wearing have a monofilament top? Thank you I love that style bob

Jeannie Deal: Helpful info! Thank you.

Diane: Great tutorial!

Melissa Flores: Wow I did this and it instantly worked!!

Linda p.p.: Should my Freedoms seem small with a wig grip if I have a 21 3/4 to 22" head? Watched Danielles fix and may have to cut. Until this year I have worn them w/o a grip. Thx so much for all your videos, I think I have watched all. I learned so much from you, info that still stands true after wearing many name brands. I set out to be wig educated and most came from you. Think I am a B plus student.

Kathy Bunch: Hi Rochelle, Your videos are always full of great information. I am thinking about a wig purchase since you always look so good in them. I live in Tennessee, too far away to let you help me in person. Your makeup and skin are so beautiful. What do you use on your skin? Would love to know brand and shade of your lipstick too. It’s awesome. The wig you’re wearing in this video looks so natural and every hair stayed in place. Did you use hairspray today on this wig?

margaret small allan: I've solved the problem of having an itchy head, under my wig! I leave my fringe ( bangs ) out and fit Nina on top! As my own hair is steely gray, and white at the front, it blends well, and the itch has gone!..................old Tich.

Teresa Waterkuetter: Thank you Thank you ❤️ I am glad I maybe can wear my wigs. Don't know yet because it is 1:30 am now

Mzfoxy08: Thank you this really helped

Brandi Anderson: U seriously just helped me so much!

Linda p.p.: Great ideas! Thx.

Annette Krueger: how would you stretch it front to back with lace front and lace part? i have a petite wig that is too small front to back

Melissa Lynn: Thankyou always so helpful.

RoseMary Katsanis: How should wear a topper and where place it? Can you give a tutorial please?

JUNO: I thought mine was too small, Or my head is too big! I will try this.

ann ramona: got it! I’m learning....

Julie Pera: Thankyou this did help!

SJ McKay: I love the Alana wig. Would the elastic cutting trick adjust it for a 23 inch circumference head?

Mary Mary: I'm really enjoying those artworks of all the people enjoying those artworks!

Anita Rushlow: I too have oddball measurements. I am small to average except for the circumference - which is 23 inches. If I cut both straps off, how many inches will I gain? Even a ballpark measurement would be helpful. Thanks in advance!!

Thelma Clement: Thanks you Look Great.i Love all my wigs.

Jan Boyd: How should I tighten a wig that has become loose

Lainey: You always seem to answer a question that I want to know .....spooky !

FarmGirlRebel: Well my Taylor arrived and much to my dismay it was too small..way too small. I followed your tips, I stretched, I cut...still just wouldn't sit with a sense of security, felt like it was going to pop off. I love this wig, I wasn't giving up. I added hair snaps to the front and sides and viola!! It works for my big noggin. Love it
