Today we're going to make this giant bulbous beehive with a hollow wire cage. It's super lightweight compared to a teased wig this size, and it's still cheap to make! Check below for a full list of links and supplies and follow me on social media!

Materials list:

-- Hair

If you chose to use "the good hair" aka high heat kanekalon by ikickshins you'll need about 8-10 packs total. If you use regular kanekalon, probably 6-8. ***NOTE ON REGULAR KANEKALON*** I recommend only using Rastafri based on experience. Bobbi Boss and REGULAR GRADE ikickshins will not heat style. If you chose another brand be sure to test it first!

All hair mentioned can be purchased here!

-- A wig cap. This is this kind I used in the video.

-- A canvas wig block and mount. You might get a styrofoam head to work but your hairline might not fit right.

-- 12 gauge aluminum wire

-- Any tulle fabric

-- Hot glue gun and glue.

-- Parchment paper to prevent your wig from sticking to the wig

-- 3" pearl pins.

-- A wire wig brush

-- Bamboo skewers to sculpt the hairline

Oh, hey, look who's, not dead hi, I'm Mona Damian! Welcome back! Do you suck at teasing? Is your Mars Attacks like too heavy and ready to rip your scalp off? Well, we're not doing any of that today. This lightweight creation is made with a wire cage. It'S simple, cheap and it'll love you forever, unless you crush it, don't crush it. Now that we have established that here's, what you'll need to make it your name here today. I use 8 packs of the main color and one of each accents a hot glue, gun and glue your handy dandy weight cap same one. We always use a nice canvas weight. Look at that. Your head paper, mr. bobby pins, pearl pants because they're still long and pointy and super effective, some leftover phone one inch thickness will do bamboo skewers some cheap, aluminum jewelry wire. This is 12 gauge. If you're feeling spendy get this silver plated, it'll be a lot stronger. I'Ll Whitcomb and a blow dryer got to be glued hairspray. Are you triggered yet when you smell it, I am optional items but highly recommended stretch magic cords. You can find this with jeweler supplies at Michael's crocodile clips. I think that's everything you can also find a full list of the materials in the description below. Let'S get these first we're gon na mark some areas on the wig cap, I'm marking, where the highest point of the bank should start and extending it down through my sideburn areas, mark the rest of your natural hairline for reference and make sure the area you've drawn Is at least a couple inches tall, I'm also marking where the top center of my head is start by covering your wig block with parchment paper, so your wig won't stick to it. Pin on your wig cap after your lace is flat and secure stretch, the back of your wig cap as far as it'll go stretching is really important for this kind of style. I made a rough guess, off-camera on the size and shape for the first wire. I'M gon na use for the cage once you've got that go ahead and fold it in half and measure it make at least three total wires this length for the base of the cage. Take your scrap foam cut. Some cubes then you're ready to build the foam. Cubes are going to give us a way to secure the wires to the wig cap and still keep it flexible glue. The first one centered behind your bang area, line another one up with it on the back of the wig cap and we'll be bridging the wire between these add your other points. Once you straighten out your first wire to the shape that you like my method for attaching these was to stab a hole in the foam, pour glue over the hole and then insert the wire and add more glue. On top, I'm also adding more glue around the edges of the foam on the wig to make it more secure, while I'm waiting for other areas to dry. Take your time shaping these wires in this step and rotate your head around looking at it from many angles. Once you think, you've got the right shape overall, tie the center of the wires together with the stretch cord and make a square knot to make it extra secure. Everything appears to be in place. Let'S keep building, since this is the cheap tutorial I'm using the cheap wire, because otherwise I'm a cheater, so I'm putting a layer of hot glue on the wires to help strengthen it. This works really well on a test wig I made, but if you can swing it use the silver plated wire instead and you can skip this part. It'Ll also be much stronger in general, it's about 350 vs $ 12.99 for a pack of wire, but you might even be able to get away with only using two packs to make this. Now we make the other part of the scaffolding or whatever you want to call this anyway, best ways to gently uncoil the wire and glue the joints as you go, it's a little tricky to start, but it gets easier if I had to do this way again, I would wrap more wire around the base, but this still did a pretty good job. Don'T worry about coating the wires in this section, but after you glue the joints together, if you tie them together with stretch cord it'll, add more security, which I also didn't do here, but I still recommend it coil your way to the top and end in a Place where you'd want to put the topper of sorts on your wig, when it's done now, we're gon na cut away those Center joints to make a hole, be sure to wrap the wire ends around the hole, so it doesn't come apart, cut down the edges of Your foam that are sticking out, and now you have your shape now we covered in tulle, start by adding glue on the vertical wires and lay it flat on the tool as you move to each wire just tuck and glue the excess tulle as needed. We won't be seeing this part at all I'm using tool, because it's the lightest fabric, I could think to use for this. If your design calls for it, you can actually glue your hair sections directly to the tool as well and it'll hold. I left the top area loose and tucked and glued everything up top into the hole. Now we prep our hair today, I'm actually using the good hair, because I really wanted these specific colors. This is high heat Connie bye. I kick shins. The high heat hair doesn't have the same kinky volume as the hair I've used in past tutorials, but it works out just fine if you divide it up the same way so cut the braid in half then divide each section into four strands. I cut the length of those in half to make eight because today we're starting with the bang area, my brain kind of fizzled when I was recording this. But if you need a closer demo check out, wig, tutorials, 2 or 3, and it's the same application method and you'll be able to see it in a lot more detail. Make a nice even cut into a clump of hair pump glue into it and mix it around with the glue gun, tip, making sure to get any loose ends, fan out the clump nice and thin and apply it on the natural hair line you drew use with A bamboo skewer to press it in and roll away to release. I did three layers of hair all the way up to the top area. We marked off now I'll make an undercoat of hair to cover the cage go ahead and glue. The front of this undercoat directly on top of the top layer of bangs, will make a pretty transition on the next layer be sure to come out each section of hair after the glue dries to get out all the loose hair. Drape, your hair over the cage and tuck the excess into the whole hair spray it into place once it's set carefully, pull out the hair and cut away some of the excess to remove weight from the wig. Remember what I said: don't crush it yeah that happened. I managed to pull it back into place and think out. Everything worked out continue working around until the first layers done now. We start the visible layer. This part can be a little tricky to keep the hair layer separated so just be patient blue strands just above the crevice, where your other layers met when the glue is dry, we'll sculpt the hairline of the bangs, by putting a thin layer of glue under the New hair and use bamboo skewers to press a flat line doing this in between two sections of hair will help bridge it together and make it less uneven. If you have lumps that you're unhappy with you can blast it with the hairdryer and it'll soften the glue. So you can pull it back, flatten it or remove it completely. You only need to do this extra step with the glue around the bangs, once you're ready to start laying out the hair thoroughly comb out and smooth your hair. I'M gon na skip ahead to a part where I showed this better, but then we'll go back. Take your comb and pull the hair up and kind of shake your section to get the hair to fan out and lay on the wig. While it's dry and smooth like this, it's a good way to get the hair to spread evenly and cover all the holes. Once you have it, where you want it, hairspray it real good and blow-dry it into place on low. You should be good to remove the comb now and you can tuck away the excess hair into the hole on top. I'M gon na try on real, quick and see where I should cut some bangs finishing up shaping the bangs. Here I use thinning, shears and thinned out a lot of the under layers, use a round brush and a blow dryer to curl the bangs. I'M doing a little more texturising on the bangs and making them less blunt by using thinning shears and making small vertical cuts for the side pieces. I did pin curls use a curling iron and hang the curl on the pin and let it cool completely before dropping them after you drop them, give them a tiny amount of hairspray, so they don't give tangley. Now I'm making my little floppy bun to put on top of the hole I just glued, a clump of hair tied, it fanned it to my liking, and then I cut the excess and glued it all together, insert it into your wig, with glue permanently or non Permanently by wedging it in if it's the right size and she's done, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial be sure to LIKE and subscribe because inconsistency is the spice of life and God knows I've been consistent.
