Many runners don't realize how much they can customize the fit of their shoes just by changing the way they lace them here are a few different lacing techniques that you can use to deal with various fit problems. If your heel is slipping around in your shoe, try out the runners loop lace, the sheen, normally until the next-to-last pilots on either side draw the laces backwards through the last eyelet to create loops on the outside of the shoe, then cross each lace back across the Tongue and through the opposite leaf the loops help to tighten up the heel color. This keeps your heel in place, as you run. If the shoe feels too tight on the top of the foot, try parallel lacing to secure your foot with minimal pressure on top. First, completely remove the lace from the shoe then lace, the first two eyelets by your big toe, pull the lace from the first eyelet straight across to the tongue, to the parallel eyelet. Once through this eyelet bring the lace up the shoe skipping. One eyelet repeat these steps until the laces reach the top of the tongue. If your big toenail turned black, you can take some pressure off the toe with this lacing trick completely. Remove the lace from the shoe then thread one end of the lace from the eyelet nearest to your big toe diagonally up to the top eyelet leave enough lay, so the shoe can be tied thread, the other end of the lace across to the opposite, eyelet, and Then back and forth towards the top of the shoe, if you have problems with any of your other toes, this can also be done in reverse order to relieve pressure. If you have pain on the top of your foot, you can skip a set of eyelets to relieve pressure on the hot spot, start by unlacing, the shoe to below the spot, where you're feeling the irritation, then, instead of lacing diagonally over the hot spot, bring the Lace directly up the shoe on both sides for as long as it takes to avoid the hot spot, then continue the diagonal lace pattern until you reach the top of the shoe. Running Warehouse: Glad to hear you found the video helpful. It depends why you are feeling numbness in your toes. If it's because your shoe is fitting too tight in he midfoot, the parallel lacing technique may provide you a bit more room while still holding you comfortably in the shoe. If your toes are too close to the toe box, that can also cause numbness. The bruised toe lacing technique addresses a sore or cramped big toe. It also may be that you need a bigger size shoe to give your toes more room.
