Hi, I'm Jake with specialised garage doors and we're going to show you how to replace your garage door lock on your garage door. So to change is a handle on your garage door. It'S easiest to start from the inside, find your fasteners that that hold every all the components in the door just start taking it apart. These ones here are going to hold the outside assembly employed, so then go ahead and remove the lock from the front of the door and get out get out your other, your lock. That is in better shape and pop it back in, and you need to go back to the inside and reassemble it. It'S it's easiest. If you have an assistant with you or a spare set of hands to to hold this in place, while you put the other parts on the inside, it's kind of hard to do by yourself without without somebody holding it on the outside, just go ahead and put It back together in the reverse order that you took it apart, install your handle over there and you're set again. This is Jake with specialized garage doors and we've just shown you how to replace the garage door lock on your garage door.

k Mad: Our home was built 1998 and has a sears garage. The garage door lock handle snapped off and broke. We went to H Depot and Lowes and the locks they have does not fit. I contacted Sears and they said they do not carry that part any longer. The handle I saw in this video looks similar to the one we have. Can you tell me where did you get that part and if it's no longer available, please make a video of how to hide the holes on a perfectly working garage that doesn't need replacing. Thank you.

holy moly: Nice shirt, and an assistant to hold the handle = RESPECT. I wear an old T shirt and use a bit of tape.

Melissa Rosson: If you have no one to help ... use a little Duc Tape to hold the new lock on the outside of door while you work from the inside :)

Cheryl Hilton: how do you replace the wire on the handle that goes to the latches on each side??

P Snitkin: What if you cannot access your garage from inside your house?

christopher mercado: Where can I buy the same lock without key.

redone5615: The subject of this video is "How to Replace..." Key word is REPLACE. I have been trying to find instructions on how to replace my manual garage door handle & lock. I can't get the old one off because there is a dark colored locking disk with a cross cut into it on the inside around the square peg that fits through the door. I can't cut it off. I can't pry it up off the peg. No one at Home Depot, Do-it Center or Lowes knows how to get this disk off. Once it's on, it doesn't come off. I can't get needle nose plyers under it. How do I get it off to replace this garage door lock?

Neko Mimi: Hey... Was this simple? Yes... But did I know it was going to be this simple before I watched this video? NO! I was worried that it would be complicated since I've never had to do this before, so I'm GLAD that they made a video that shows how it is done, even if it is basically plug'n'play! Don't be a dick... They made a video to HELP PEOPLE and I'm grateful for it because now I know that when I go to do it myself on Monday, when the handle I purchased arrives, I'll have no problems!

APAP: Hi. What’s the brand of the lock you’re installing in the video?

bobby: I feel like I missed something, but I'm sure I didn't.

artmakersworlds: Exactly HOW does this LOCK the garage?

Zane Markus: Thank you for the vid.

Josh N: I mean you didn’t even use an actual lock with the cabling, acting like you know what your doing by using 4 screws great job

janleobert sarabia: how to repair a stock garage doorknob?

Charlie: My directions say to use c-clamps and all kinds of stuff. Also says I can be killed if not careful. Is it really as simple as this? Lol

TorchwoodThree8: I came here to to see how to replace the Wayne Dalton Garage Black Plastic Interior Lock Handle replacement and attachment of the wire! This is a disappointment! Why show one without the other.

WSTLNZ: Hi JAKE of Specialised Garage Doors ! (a "for-real" door handle installer person) You obviously INSTALL a lot of "handles" as you STATE - "It's EASIER if you have an assistant" 0:53 (OR A SPARE PAIR OF HANDS - (likethe FOUR HANDS of a MONKEY) Oh-- a HUMAN spare pair, well that's an assistant isn't it ? As YOU (a Specialised Garage Door "installer") can't HOLD the new handle IN PLACE because it's difficult ON your own. Well.? USE a brain & hold it (yourself) with the shaft - from the inside.!!!

chris cogan: how to round off your cross head screws

Max Power: 1st he unscrews, then screws. Screwed my out of 2min:(

Erik Rico: *how to unscrew something and screw it back in* Amazing. Maybe next time show the wire installation.

tj Anthony: I find a 8 dollar garage door lock will that work to

Capt'n Jay Greybeard: but the cables...... ?

garlicdawg: what if theres no lock to begin with...?

Clown Whisper: lol that was a dummy handle there were no attached controls lol

APAP: Anywhere to purchase the lock used in the video? I can’t make out the name of the brand written on the lock.

B. Patrick: Really? You used the same lock? was this that complicated you had to make a video, take 4 screws out, put four screws back in.....waste of video,

Richard Sleightholme: Good but I dont think you need gloves on???

Mick Sydney: All together now big deal

SwimJig Man: did he say jake from state farm
