How To Transition From Dark Brown To Grey For Wigs & Natural Hair (Godiva'S Secret Wigs Videos)

Hi everybody, i'm rochelle, the mother of the mother-daughter owners of godiva's secret, wigs and oh, my goodness, my dear dear friend, claudettes and uh. We used to live near each other in beaumont, california, and actually you helped me. You worked with clients, oh and i loved it. I loved it sold wigs out of our home. Clients would knock and claudette's the one that would answer the door work with them in the wig room, and i just booked appointments for work. It was great, it was so. Claudette is an expert with wigs and our topic today is transitioning from dark hair to gray and even lighter hair, because i know i mean, do you ever think about that or all the time really oh yeah, but my family isn't happy if i don't color my Hair whatever, so, how often are you coloring your hair yourself? No, okay! Well, the truth comes out. Oh, i try and stretch it to about seven eight weeks. Oh, you can go a while yeah i can i i am lucky. Uh they'll probably come a time where i have to go more often, but right now i just i stretch it a bit. You know what that means. Claudette. That means you have no stress in your life because those of us with gray hair showing it all week - we've got more stress. That'S where that gray hair can come from. I know some of you are going to say, genetics and all those things. True, i'm teasing. Do you ever color your own hair um. I have every once in a while, but um. I i think it's part of the ritual of just going and getting my hair done. I just love it. I feel pampered for someone else to do it, love it okay, so we're going to start dark. Let'S say claudette is getting ready to go lighter and you know a lot of our relatives or people will say it's time to go. Lighter you get older, you should go lighter, but i don't like shoulds mm-hmm. You know and it's your head be, who you want to be right and many of our clients are white and gray under a dark wig. So it's all good. So i'm going to start. You off i'm keeping the styles close, so you can start taking notes if you are any of these colors and you're thinking of going lighter, and will you hold up luca, so everybody can get a good look at this buddy. This is luca marie she's, my little precious little sweetness sweetness. My little love all right. We are starting with sheila in expresso, claudette feel how light this is. Oh, my! Oh! It'S like feather yes, so this color is espresso. We carry it in some of our wigs. It'S the darkest color that we carry and we would call it a soft black hi, luca cutie pie. Do you have to get that good, and so this is sheila and what i can do is just spritz it a little bit. If i want it or if claudette wants it a little punky. Will you just look to your left? A little bit show everybody the back: it's just a nice clean cut, but this color is espresso again the darkest that we carry a little too dark, for you might be a little too dark. Okay, let's keep going now, i'm going to put on you selma in dark chocolate. Do you remember what color you are? Oh you're selma a dark chocolate, oh yeah, and so claudette has her hair here and i'm just working with it and we would round out these bangs. Remember the wigs i'm working with right now i haven't altered them. Styled them. There'S nothing phony going on here! So i'm opening them up just like you would if a wig was shipped to you. So this is the next lighter color, so dark chocolate, that's pretty yeah, really great color! That is you boy. That'S really true to a tea. The next color i'm going to put on you is peggy in midnight. Pearl, wait till you see this peggy midnight pearl is so fun to wear. I love wearing it and i don't have dark hair, but this is a show stopper and some women they're lucky enough to get their natural hair to come in like this, let me move that thing there. You go out of your eye, so just this is really. This is really fun. Oh wow, so it's kind of sophisticated it is midnight. Yes, it is very glamorous very glamorous and i'm still using your hair yeah. The color doesn't have to be exact because no one's going up to you saying are you wearing a wig today, you know we're all busy thinking about ourselves and making sure we're looking good. We really don't care and that's why we always say it's about the illusion. It'S about the illusion! So when you look to your left and your right, that is a fabulous color and all of these wigs. So i'm not worrying so much about the back, showing you the back right now more important for this video is the transitioning of colors from dark to light midnight. Pearl love, it yeah! It'S a it's surprising! It'S surprising! Oh yeah! It'S surprising! Oh yeah! I love it. Okay, next lighter color, while we're transitioning down is sheila in ginger brown, so now you're going to see a little more warmth and as we're getting older, sometimes we get more pale and the warmth on a wig is flattering with our skin tone. So here is our little sheila wig great short wig. God you are gorgeous. Can we tell a range of your age, or can we say your age or what the heck claudette well we're, not no one's listening um. My next birthday will be very special. It'Ll be 75 on my next birthday, i'm thinking about already what i wanted and, let me just say, claudette has the most beautiful skin and she has such a skin regime right you always. Yes, i do, and as soon as she gets home anywhere, even if it's in the afternoon, you're washing your makeup off or that's what you would tell me, i never go to bed with your makeup on ever ever. Your skin is beautiful. I just i had to stop everything and tell her that. Thank you. Thank you mom and dad wow wow, it's jeans too, but thank you love it so transitioning to lighter colors. The ginger brown is beautiful for a little more warmth and we're getting a little lighter. Now i think it's a little softer on my face. I'Ve i've noticed in the last few years. I can't go quite as dark as i used to like do, because i would get compliments on the color of my skin with the very dark hair. Yes, but i'm noticing that a little more warmth is is softer yes, and what i'm seeing when i look at you, i see the warmth. The the warm in the ginger brown is pulling out and showing your cheekbones and your eyes are popping more. It'S like pulling the little red you have a beautiful color eye. You have a lot of colors in your eye. I do they. I didn't know that your eyes changed so much as we aged as well, and i have another gift and i had my cataracts off. So you know what everything isn't bad as we get older. We just have to accept and there's a lot of good changes too. Now i can see everything just beautifully. I wear reading glasses, but now i can see distance without glasses. It'S a miracle. It'S got and you know for those of you that know clawdex and some of you do she's one of the most elegant women and just that is the best word i can think of, and i'm just looking you i love ginger brown on you. I do too. I think it's literally pretty everything yeah very, very pretty okay, so we're still transitioning down lighter colors, so we're going to go now with selma in marble brown. Let'S see that sounds here, i want to move a little of your darker hair and remember if you're gray, at your temples or dark or pretty much whatever. If that shows it's okay, because women go gray at their temples, even if the wig is on or if you're a little darker, it just looks like the roots are growing out so up at the hairline and even the tabs, she always could wear any color darner, Not like you, i just want to show you with a short wig instead of having, if you're, going to show your ears. My tip is take more of that away, because the illusion is not a whole bunch of hair in front of your ears. The illusion would be a little bit so see how that looks more realistic now. So just keep that in mind if you're wearing super short wigs. So let's talk about marble brown, it's it's pretty! It is beautiful on youtube. Very pretty um. Just compliments different different things. What because you're a color specialist, i think my eyes pop. I don't know that it's up here a minute, so everybody can see your eyes too. I don't know if it's as nice as the ginger, but it's just a different. It is great on you too. It marble brown is a medium brown with a little caramel, a little caramel, and so it's not chunky. Pc you're, not looking stripy, our wigs and our colors are meant to just flow and look like you're at the top of your game. But you could do this. Absolutely yes, i could even pull out. Can i pull out? I have nothing, but i could even pull out a touch of your darker hair under here to work with it. Oh yes, and you could pull out a little bit more see, that's just a way to incorporate your hair. It'S it's blending! It'S right! It'S just part of the blend. That'S a great! That'S! A great blend, all right, all through beautiful yeah makes you feel brighter. Yes, i can see this is more of a summertime color and ginger brown uh going into the fall, but anytime's a good time and while we're on it, i am wearing marina in creamy, toffee r, and i just love it. It'S just a really great easy wig to wear adorable you like all right: okay, moving on we're gon na go again to soma, but we're gon na go toasted brown and so a little bit lighter than marble brown. I hope you're taking your notes because it's not an easy trick to decide what color, so i'm hoping claudette and i can be a help to you in thinking about how you're going to proceed with your colors. So toasted brown ooh. It'S actually a little darker than marble brown. It is, i put it in the wrong order. You'Re, forgiven yeah, i, like it yeah. I like this toasted brown has less of the red of ginger brown. Do you see that i do i do i just want to grab this, so you all can see. So let me make sure this is here: is ginger brown a little darker kind of picks up in there? Actually, the base is darker: okay, toasted brown, beautiful. I like that on you too yeah. I do too. I do too toasty brown really pretty. Okay, now close your eyes, claudette all right, because now we're gon na go into unknown territory. Oh i'm not even gon na say because i don't want to scare her yet, and i really want all your comments. Do you see these colors for yourself? Can you see yourself transitioning and what do you think on claw dad? Okay go ahead? This is christy in frosted. Taupe. Excuse me, sweetheart, oh, let me tuck you in tuck me in. I apologize no problem, you are just. I love you in short, wigs, so this is christy and the bangs have to be trimmed. So i'm just letting you know. Claudette has a little shorter forehead than like i or a lot of us have a little smaller face. You'Re a little petite a little thing, a little head there you go and um, but let's look at the color with your eyes. If you, you know, i'm surprised you were thinking of transitioning yeah. Let'S look at color frosted taupe, not a gray, although it's listed in our grays, it's cool, just like a dark color. I i'm honestly shocked. I'M honestly surprised. No, i would have said get that away from me. Do not put that on my head. That'S why i had her close her eyes. Yeah, it's really it's fun. It is. It is a great color and it actually goes darker in the back claudette it's back here, but this is our hottest newest color frosted tote. We do it in a a lot of different wigs all different lengths. All the colors, i'm showing you come in different lengths and the styles come in different blondes reds, browns, grays, beautiful colors. It'S really uh! It'S really fashion forward. If you wear a lot of black wow any color, but i mean it's stunning, it's it really is i'm i'm i'm surprised yeah. I am love it too yeah. I still impartial like right now to the midnight pearl, the gray in the front, with the dark in the back that was so glamorous i was like who is this woman? Okay, let's move on transitioning to lighter colors, you dark brown, women, your hair colors. Let'S go selma in sandy silver, so, although it's lighter in the front darker in the back yeah, i can put you in anything. You know and you may not love them all, but they you know women are walking around with damaged hair and purple hair and thin. So you can see their scalp hair and thick long, braided, hair down to their knees and all kinds of hair. So it's just what mood are you in right? Exactly exactly i do like it on you. I want to ask myself why it's it's. I don't know that it's my favorite, but i do like it and you know what it's getting to be. My favorite here you are. This: is your hair, oh so you're going with the dark in the back or the under. Well, i'm using your hair just to work with it, but the light in the front is just so flattering and i can flatten this whole wig fun, yeah, okay, we've got two more to go all right: okay, next selma in sandy silver. Now, if you're dark - and you have just had it or for some reason, some clients are commenting, they just shave their head and they are done coloring their hair. They don't want to use that product on their hair. They don't want to use, you know, go, have their hair dyed, and so they have shaved their hair, and i just had a woman coming from australia. She ordered a wig from us and she loves the videos and she is one that just shaved her head and she's had it good for her i'll tell you. There have been days there have been days, so here's claudette in silver stone. That is surprising. That is surprising. I think i'd have an easier time just going straight to gray than i would to blonde there's a lot of. Ladies to blonde. No, i mean i i it would be easier for me to go to silver than it would be for me to go to blonde absolutely. I would not put you in blonde okay, no blonde going and now i know a blonde would kill me, but the gray right is something else again. It'S so funny. You just wouldn't think it yeah. So when i chose these wig colors for transitioning from dark to light, it was with a dark hair with you in mind, a dark-haired woman, because if you're brown you're typically you're not going to go blonde, so i'm keeping you in that brown range until it's like. It'S time to jump right right time to jump that, but it is dye shift. I mean, and you know what you know, what helps some lipstick claudette has lipstick. She has blush. She has makeup on her eyebrows look amazing, and so you have hair, you don't have hair you're bald, you ha. Who cares but but the makeup really enhances. However, your hair looks right exactly and that's why you can wear all these different colors exactly and i don't care what those beauty experts say. Ladies, do your brows, do your brows say that together they are they frame your face? They really do so. Don'T let somebody say, oh just forget your brows, because you're 60 something 70 something 80. Something do your brows. It really makes a difference and you know what claudette i haven't had tails on my eyebrows. Now i'm admitting um for a decade because i haven't found the right person. I may get my eyebrows tattooed just telling you um, but i still pencil it in because the eyebrow frames the eye and extends the eye, and it's so important, especially when you're wearing a wig. If you have really thin hair, maybe you're used to not wearing much eyebrow, because your hair is thin, but when you're wearing a wig, what helps make the illusion work of the wig is to have eyebrows, because if you have hair here, you're going to have some Hair here right - yes, i i am convinced. Okay, our last look is quinn in white quinn quinn. So i just i have to see you in white because you know we all get there eventually, but our white is beautiful. So let's just see here's your chance claudette! Well, martha washington has nothing on me. You are funny, so i'm just gon na wet it and pump it up a little bit, because this is a very modern wig, but i know on you white you're thinking i, but i have to do it, i'm just uh. It'S okay, please forgive me! You are forgiven. My dearest sweetest friend, you are forgiven. So let me tuck you in because white is a color and it's a flattering color and you know claudette's not gon na do white right now, but some of you may - and there is nothing wrong with it. If your roots are white and your hair is brown, i know you're ripping your hair out with the coloring like i am, i mean a week every week and a half, i'm coloring, my hair because of the gray, even though my hair is blonde, so i can Only imagine on redheads and brunettes when your grays are coming in, it's got to be a nightmare. It it has to be. It has to be yeah, i'm yeah, what oh i'm just saying, the difference between the stone and the that's. So so pretty so i don't know what you like, but i know you love me and you don't care because i'm putting what i like best, i have got to see midnight pearl again midnight pearl.
