Melting My Lace With An Elastic Band & How To Bleach Your Knots Ft Bly Hair | The Tastemaker

Hey what's up, everyone is to tastemaker and welcome back to my youtube channel. Today, i'm going to be trying out a new method that I've seen on Instagram and I was like yo. I have to do this in my next hair video like I need to share it with my subbies, because I feel like it's really gon na change your hair game, like it's just gon na level you up today, I am gon na - be reviewing this wig that I received from an Amazon company by the name of Bly hair. I freaking love this hair there. It'S a no-brainer, I mean look, how natural this wig is. I'M gon na show you guys how to get your wig to look like this. I know I know I know a lot of people spend so much money going to the hair salon to get their hair done and I'm gon na try to save you, some cornices, I'm trying to show you how you can do this at home. It'S very easy, and a good thing about this way is, if you guys didn't, want to do baby hairs in this wig. You guys don't have to like that's how natural this way came to me. Absolutely love this hair. I love the hair texture. This is Mongolian. Kinky curly hair, definitely one of my personal favorites when it comes to curly hair. So if you guys are interested in this look and checking out this new method that I've found, then definitely continue watching. What'S up you guys, so today we have a wig from the ly hair. I did rip the box by accident trying to open this said it was taped down right here. You see where the tape is, and I don't know why. Anyway, here's the wig. It is a 22 inch, mono, Zoli and curly wave Mongolian curly hair is literally the best curly hair. Every time you guys have a unit of mine that you guys really like. That'S curly, it's usually a Mongolian texture, so they only gave us a free wig cap. I'M gon na go ahead and take the unit out of the bag. Now this is the inside construction of the wig. You have your typical combs in it. This is a lace, parting space. It'S definitely a lot more than our previous unit that I just reviewed. So I did want to go ahead and just show you guys the hairline and what the knots are currently looking like. So this is what it looks like, like I said, very natural. The knots are extremely small. Here is what this side looks like, so I am gon na pluck it just to get rid of like the uniform line that they have here, but other than that I mean it doesn't meet any like serious plucking. They did a very good job as just pre. Plucking it for you, so you know you don't have to put in so much work with this wig and I just love the way this is already looking like. It looks so natural already like look at that, especially once I like bleach. The knots like, even if I just bleach the knots and I didn't like it like this unit, will be ready to go like look how natural it is get me okay, so I just wanted to show you guys real quick, so once I am done bleaching it, I flip it back its right-side out so that way the hair is on this end and not like being smashed from like all the pressure and then what I like to do is I literally just lift the hair up. So that way, it's not like laying flat on the actual lace. That'S how you can avoid getting like those overly two knots, but this is what everything is currently looking like. A lot of people ask me how long to leave the bleach on for and honestly, the best thing to do for me is just to eyeball it just like how I bought the actual bleach solution. I do the same thing when it comes to like the actual bleach time I just check on it, and I leave mine like this. You can put foil on it if you want to like speed up the process, but I try to avoid putting foil on because once again, you're smashing the hair down onto the lace and then you can potentially have some over bleach roots that way so I'll. Just let mine sit out like this okay, you guys now it's time to go ahead and start applying our unit. Now I've seen something the other day on Instagram and I really want to try it out. I don't know how this is gon na work. It can go good or it can be a hot-ass mess. So let's see what happens so the other day I was on Instagram and I seems that this girl, basically she was melting, somebody's laced using an elastic band. Now I definitely have seen people use scars and scented strips, but I've never seen anyone using an elastic band. So I'm really interested in seeing how this works out if it makes a difference or if I'm gon na end up with lines all in my head, I don't really know but we'll see. The only thing is, I didn't see how she actually secured the elastic bands. So I have an elastic band, but what I'm gon na do with mine is just tie it and hopefully that works, because I don't know how else I can apply the unit. So let's go ahead and get into it. So here is the wig now that it has been air-dried I've just let it sit on my mannequin head. While I did my makeup today, so this is currently what it's looking like and it is semi dries. This is the curl pattern in the hair really like it, definitely very full and natural-looking here's the hairline. I did go ahead and pluck it and what I will say is you can pluck this unit. But honestly, I don't feel like you need to. I think it would be better if you just went ahead and bleached the knots and then just did your baby hair with it. The reason why I'm saying that is because the knots are so small in here and because of that, it's also very fragile. So certain parts of the hair like came out when I was like washing that I didn't want to come out and because, obviously, when you bleach the knots you weaken them so with this type of unit, because the knots are so small, I would say you can Skip the plucking and just go ahead and bleach the knots so just want to throw that out there, because I noticed something, and I didn't really like very well. I do also want to play out that I did not tone this unit at all, like I did not put any toning shampoo on here and it's like perfect after just bleaching, so I bleached it and then I put on some neutralizing shampoo once you finish bleaching. Your units, you definitely want to use a neutralizing shampoo. Then you go ahead and put on your toning shampoo. Most people use shimmer lights. I don't particularly like shimmer lights, because I hate the way it smells. It just smells like old. Ladies to me, I don't know like old lady perfume is that East Coast [ __ ], so now that our hair is wet and everything and tamed I'm just gon na slick it all back again and then now, I'm just gon na undo the elastic. So I probably had it on for maybe like 10 minutes or so so boom. Now it's a really late, as you guys can see. I just wanted to like really make sure it's like melted down and everything before I went ahead and cut the lace off and then I am going to do some baby hairs in this unit as well. So yeah, now that we have that down, I'm going to go ahead and get my elastic again and pull our hair back yet again and this hair, even though it's like very full, it's super lightweight. So that's one thing that I really like about this hair is that it's lightweight go ahead and put my elastic down and then tie it again. I really like the curl pattern to this hair. The only thing is just like the ends get like a little bit. Poofy is so natural. The parting space is deep. It does go further back, as you guys can see. So this is a 13 by 6 unit. It is 22 inch. It is like the stretch, Lynch, that's where it's hitting me in the back, but it just gets poofy fast. So if you like big hair, then you'll love this wig, especially like how curly it is like hey watch when I take this elastic I've already: no lace. Finna be melted, baby hair is gon na be melted. The thing that I really like about this wig is that it's perfect for anybody who's a beginner when it comes to slaying these wigs and you're, not really that great at it. It doesn't matter because, if you bleach to the knots on this unit and apply it it's gon na look natural, you guys saw that it was looking natural before I even put any baby hair anything before I even put anything in it. The lace was already looking natural, so if you pluck it that's great, but if you don't click it you'll still be fine. So I'm gon na go ahead and take the elastic off, because I feel myself getting a headache and let's oh well, there it is boom. So our lace is melted for real. Now my makeup is messed up right there by my forehead, but I'm gon na fix that in just a second, but you guys see what's going on so that's perfect, yeah, I'm just gon na take my makeup and just reapply. It right here where it's like missing, but look how freakin natural my hair looks like girl, hair bomb. This is all the hair up front by the way I love the hair friends. This is a 22 inch unit. It is Mongolian kinky curly and I freaking love this unit. I would say if you order this wig and you have like a smaller head to definitely go for a small. I don't try to go for the medium, because you know the medium is usually what most of them give. You anyway, is like a medium cap size, that's like the average cap size, but I would suggest to get a small cap size if you are, if you do have a smaller head, because this wig was borderline too big for me. Luckily, I was still able to make it work. I didn't do it like any crazy hairstyle or anything like that. I just wanted to show you guys its new method that I saw on Instagram, because I thought it was so freaking dope, like I might girl, be having so much elastic sitting around that I don't use like this is the perfect way to make use of my Last date, obviously I can reuse this over and over and over again, but yeah. You can wash it clean it. Whatever you need to do, cyst you can hand wash it air-dry and go buy. So this is but look how natural Artic. If I wanted to put my are back like here is who don't even talk to me, if you ain't even girl, if your hair don't look like this, don't even don't even give me no type of negativity.
