On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Hey guys, I want to make a video about the hair clip trend. The whole nineties piling on hair clips thing has come back into fashion. I couldn't be more excited. I was a kid at the time and I remember going all out with these hair clips and they have come back now in a little bit more of a grown-up way, but they're still super playful and fun and honestly, sometimes even bordering on tacky. But I feel like that is just part of the fun. You know this is well. They can really go all out with today. I wanted to show you a few ways you can rock the hair clip trend. Does we're gon na do today? I'M gon na walk. You through a couple of options and let's get started straight away. So first, look us today is inspired by the first action. Catwalk looks where they wear these nice flashy big hair clips. So, in order to do that, you're going to separate your hair into a center parting, if you want, you can use a rec tail comb to help you with that. You just want to make a really nice clean line. So now I'm going to pull my hair back and I'm going to comb it over so that it's really smooth the thing that makes this hairstyle is that it's super sleek and smooth, so gon na make sure to really comb. My hair back nicely, then I'm going to hold it down and we're gon na take a hair clip. So here I have one that has a row of pearls and I'm going to slide that in right above my ear and to make sure to scoop up all that hair and I'm going to slide it in kind of diagonally, so that it is almost pointing up. Just slightly tilted back and then I'm gon na do the same thing on the other side, so make sure my hair is coming back smoothly. I'M gon na take a second clip. This one has little hearts on it. I'M gon na do the same thing. So just slide it in right above my ear and then you want to make sure there's symmetrical, so I'm gon na be my mirror for that. Now, if you have bangs it's up to you to decide what you want to do with them, I have decided to leave mine out. I think it looks a little bit better on me that way. Obviously, if you're gon na have bangs is going to be all pull to decide really nicely, so this is pretty much the look and what I really love about this trend is that you can mix and match these clips to your heart's desire. Nothing is all the limits pretty much for the second style, I'm going to keep my sleekly combed hair and my center parting, but I I'm just going to pull it through it a little bit more and split my bangs as well. If you don't have thanks, then of course you're already there for this next style. What I'm gon na do is I'm going to take these clips. They are kind of like big double bobby pins. Almost so what I'm going to do with this is slide it into my hair right here on the side of my face, like growing side of my forehead, and it's going to help hold back my bangs, so I'm gon na do the same thing. On the other side slide in this pin, you want to make sure they're, nice and symmetrical. So then, I'm going to take a second set of these pins and I'm going to slide that in just below the first set, I'm gon na make sure the angles line up now. A lot of how good this will look on your depends on your face shape. So you might want to play around with where you place these a little bit on some people. It looks great. We put them high up here on some people. It looks better when you have them a little bit lower down, so don't be afraid to just you know play around with it see what looks best things you alright, I'm going to do, though, with these is just lift them up a little bit cuz. They are pretty flat against my head right now and I want to create a little bit more room there, so that my hair doesn't look as flat, but this is the second style. I think it's really pretty a really cute way to get your hair. With your face and a really nice way to wear the hair clip trend for the next, I'm gon na put my hair in a side parting. So I'm gon na take my adult comb again and just part my hair on one side. This is honestly a really really quick and simple one, and I'm just going to comb my hair back and then I'm gon na take a massive hair clip. I have this all right here, which I think it's really really cute and I'm going to pop that in right in the back here and it's going to hold my hair back right there, and I think this looks absolutely amazing, with hair that has a little bit Of texture or curl, it's just a really really cute hairstyle to wear and super simple to do. It takes a few seconds now, of course, we use the smaller side of the this time. You can you do the same thing on the other side, where you have more hair, so all you need to do is take a little piece of hair from the front, pull it back and then take a hair clip and stick it right there and of course, This clip can be as flashy or subtle as you like, for example, this is pretty subtle, but if I were to switch it out for the cruel one that I used earlier, it's a whole different, look and looks a little something like this, although I have to Say this hairstyle is giving me flashbacks to see Queen days, I'm not so sure about so another thing you can do is layer these and wear several at a time. So one way you can do that is to take one side of your hair. You can do this on a sense report in soy, cording, whatever looks best on you and when I'm layering I like to start with the bottom one, because that one's going to set the hair style. So I'm just going to pull my hair back and then start right in front of my ear. This one down there I'm going to go up one level and then I'm gon na add one more get a little three to your clip action going on. So when you're layering like this, I like to make sure that the angles line up and the distance is between the clips or approach looking the same, but of course it's all up to you, you can choose to link them up line up with purpose. I personally do feel like this looks mices, since it is busy enough, as it is with three different styles. This is pretty much how I don't go about layering them. I personally think this looks really really cute. Another thing you can do, which I personally think is pretty cute - is to not really have to click to serve any purpose, but just put them in your hair is an accessory. For example. I could just take a little loopy clip again open it up and just kind of slide it into the side of my hair and just have it sitting there. It doesn't serve any purpose, it's just a cute little decoration, and that is another way that you could use the hair pick trend, something that I have actually been doing. A lot is just a very simple half up to where you just take the front of your hair, pull it back, give these sections a little twist and then take one of these big ones, big, hair clips and just slide it in to hold this together, and That gives you a really cute really quick half up to, and I feel like this is one of the more wearable ways to wear these big hair clips, and then you won't let people be more comfortable with so far all the styles that I've shown you have Been with the hair down, but of course you can combine these with any type of up to really, and you guys know how much I love my little bun. So I'm gon na just demonstrate this with a very quick low bun, just gon na pull. All of my hair into a low point: I'm just gon na create a little quick messy bun here, and this is really cute, also just accessorize with a bunch of hair clips. So again you can make them symmetrical or asymmetrical. I chose to just combine two on one side and have nothing on the other side. Of course, there are endless variations on everything I showed you and there are still so many more things you can do that. I haven't shown you at all, so I mostly just want to say play around with these is a really fun time. You can use experiment and find different ways that you like to wear it. So I hope you found my suggestions helpful today. Sam Hepplestone: that shade of pink really suits your skin tone and dark hair

Lin Vaughan: so cute! i love hairclips, my favourite ones i had in the 90's were these little butterfly clips, not the plastic ones but metal with the wings attached to springs so they would flutter as i moved. i would love to have one again, but i havent been able to find any :(. and i just realised how much you remind me of hope sandoval with pinned back bangs and a center parting!

Ali Iannucci: I noticed this trend coming back this year with my middle school students!! They're VERY into the "center parting, 2 clips on each side" look. Not sure I can pull it off now but I remember rocking it in the 90s as a kid lol

spinwitch: I wore this half up-do in the 60s, when I was just a little girl. And I was not the only one - the tv series Tammy aired in Germany and all girls wanted their hair just like Tammy. I like that hair style so much, that I still wear it 50 years later.

Jennifer Grove: Several years ago I was obsessed with my gold bobby pins with flowers and suns on the end. I'm gonna have to dig those up again! (I'm guessing this is something you probably don't want to use with jewelry though... At least with the big clips used together.)

Hera Adriana Consunji: This came right in the moment. I bought some hairclips and I wanted to try it but I have no idea how to thank you for this!

dgirllamius: I have rainbow coloured hair pins that I stack on the back of my head when wearing a messy bun. The 90s never left me tbh

fictionalhuman: I’ve found these look very funny on my tight curly hair texture, but they are super cute on you! Maybe I need to just keep trying different kinds of clips.

Tina Knowlton: I would love to be able to do this but I can never get the pins to stay in my hair. They always fall out. I have thick hair so I heard it should be easier, but it's a talent I do not seem to possess. You look gorgeous! Thanks for another great video!

Valérie: Honestly it’s so useful that you made this, I’m currently growing out my bangs and I was thinking about doing this look!

Gitte Van de velde: I would love to rock this but I am one of those people for who 'less is more' is a serious thing. I look very overdone very quickly, and I would need like, VERY simple and elegant hairclips which kind of defies the whole point.

Kiara Engelen: I love to wear the second style but with my bangs out it’s so cute and it looks really 90’s with the clips that I use

WHITS: Your hair looks so nice parted on one side with no bangs!

Julia Berg: That second style looks so beautiful on you!

Lily Gabriella: I can't wait to try this! I just bought some, all of them looked so good on you!!!

Me Here: Everything comes back into style eventually, I guess.

Sofie Rosé: Love this video So many cute hair styles

Анастасия Шадрина: Thank you so much for the video! You've inspired me to experiment with hair clips as well!

Kayla Ramoga: This is sooooo cute! Thanks for sharing Loepsie!

Nessa: These look so great on you! I think they really compliment your sleek straight hair. Maybe it’s your makeup, but these looks~ give a 70s vibe ❤️ My wavy hair looks uneven (waves aren’t uniform?) so something looks off about it :(

Vera: You know fashion has almost reached it's peak when old trends are going back in style constantly. XD

disneybelle: I need more of these looks with bangs! I bought some of the big clips but I can never get them to look right with my bangs

Unruly Crow: "Smooth and slick" _Cries in curly hair_

Sepia Loscer: You look prettier with your hair parted on the side. Overall all of the hair tips look great on you.

Marie U: Your make up is really pretty and suits you so well! Maybe you want to make a tutorial on how you do it?

Lorena Pagkalou: Amazing ideas very helpful thank you❤

Emi Alice: Love these! Thank youuuu ☺️

idontknowwhatimdoinglol: I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT WATCHING A VIDEO ABOUT HOW TO STYLE HAIR CLIPS AND MY FAVOURITE YOUTUBER JUST DID A VIDEO ON IT OMLLL

Moondust Starlight: Your videos are so interesting to watch and very informative

Unsound Orca: I really like the one where you clipped your bangs over to the side ❤

Sade Lawrence: This is great. I notice that a lot of girls place the snap clips in the area above the peak and tail of their eyebrows. What do you think?

Sydney Bertrand: I love the hair clip trend!

Pingu: Is it a trend? I've been wearing these the last 7 years! A quick way to look cute, effortless

Ayla de Klerk: How to rock the hair clip trend: own cute hair clips

xsk12: I feel like step 1 here is to be naturally stunning....

Cynthia Basso: I used to wear a lot of these in the late 70's, but sometimes it was haircombs!

wren the rain falls: My hair is really slidey and its hard to get it to lay flat and tight to my head, so i get the piece i want to pull back twist it tight to my head behind my ear and tie it with a tiny rubber band style hair band and then slide my decorative pins into place. I’m sure hairspray would help as well!

Anaïs: I used to clip my bangs that way while cycling to school in highschool so my bangs wouldnt curl up because of the fog lmao

Lita Sixx: Can you make a tutorial on how to use butterfly clips?

JESSIIImadden: You are so gorgeous thanks for the tips!!❤

dioxazine: The second style had a nice 60s vibe!

Stephanie Durham: Wow your face is so beautiful. The bangs are cute but I love your look with more of your face showing!

Elisa K: Love this video! ❤️ Btw you could pass as the twin of the famous Turkish actress Pelin Karahan. You should google her name like WOW Even your facial expressions are the same!!

Ashley Miranda: You're really good with the hair clips

ummrm: gurls w. curly hair trust me, use these to clip ur front sections out of ur face w/ a middle parting and have some of ur hair falling over them, its the way 2 rock these.

Ana Silva: This is gonna be so random but the clips make you look like a classic movie princess!

Cori Lewis: Love this

Mori Mekan: But seriously been subscribing to your channel for so long I love your videos!

Jessi .k: That middle part is so pretty on you !

alistercat: I have these same clips from Ebay!

Megs n Bacon: I wish I could get hair clips to stay in my hair. My hair is so thin and fine they just fall right out.

Antara Sarkar: OMG i was just waiting for your video.. you are absolutely talented .. most adorable and genuine YouTuber ever .. who else think ??????? Hit

Melissa Zafaras: You're smile is so endearing! Love it

Leah Miller: So so cute! X

jamba jackson: Those clips are pretty. I love the hair behind the ears. I mostly do that with no clips sleek middle part all the hair perfectly tucked behind both ears. Do u ever do that. I also do sleek ponytail and bun with a scrungie. Do u like tjose styles

Devinder Singh: Beautiful.

sk8rgrlteen: The first one is my favorite

Karen Strong: Oh yeah, I remember used to wear this hair clips when I was little.

Joanna Erhardt: Super cute!!!!

Azareel Theo: I didn’t know I needed this video until it showed up in my recommend

wolfsf2012: I’m an idiot. I thought the large tortoise shell looking one was always a barrette style clip and not just a clip-clip and couldn’t figure out why the resin/whatever it’s made out of wasn’t breaking. It’s cause it’s not a barrette style

Danah Guevarra: You are so gorgggg❤

Reana Grace Aste: Omg you’re so gorgeous!!

louise lill: I'm 54 and wear these you can get some really pretty ones

ASMR Melodee Maddyson: I have the worst hair. Nothing I put into it will stay. I wouldn't make it out the front door before any of these clips would fall out or dislodge from there position. If i use a lot of hairspray sometimes I can get it to stay but then my hair looks plastered. They look good in your hair. Nice vid!!

Allahu Allahu: Amazing dear 10nku so much
