During the cold and dry winter months, i find that my hair care routine changes if this is something you are interested in, seeing keep on watching, welcome or welcome back to my channel. So in today's video i will be showing you my winter hair care routine, but first a special thanks to anna louisa for sponsoring today's video anna louisa is my favorite jewelry company. I love that their pieces are both cute, but also sustainable. In fact, in 2020, anna louisa became carbon neutral, which balances the entirety of the co2 footprint for a net zero output. So every piece of your collection is carbon invisible. Additionally, in 2021, anna louisa became a certified climate neutral company. I also love that their jewelry is hypoallergenic. It'S perfect for my sensitive skin and now i'd like to show you some of the latest pieces that anna louisa has sent me. First, we have this beautiful and minimalistic pearl necklace. I love it. It is on a recycled gold chain and it has a beautiful, fresh water, organic pearl, just the single pearl gives it that very minimal, but classic style. Additionally, anna louisa sent me this gorgeous sterling silver plated heart necklace on a recycled gold chain. One thing i love about anna louisa is that you can mix and match the pieces. So i pretty much wear my pearl earrings every day. I love them because they're cute simple and match with everything. If i'm feeling more fancy, then i will wear my dangly red heart, earrings, perfect for the holidays. I love my heart and lock key necklaces. This was one of the first ada louisa pieces that i ever owned and i cherish it. I also love my gold puffed, heart necklace and matching earring set. It is just so cute, and so this year you can unwrap the joy of anna louisa. They are currently running the biggest sell of the year, make excellent gifts, and thank you again to anna louisa. For sponsoring today's video and now, let's just get right into my winter hair care, routine, and so in the winter and cooler months. It'S important to keep your head warm, especially if you are outside for prolonged periods of time, but also to be mindful and to wear something that will protect your hair. So it's not as frizzy or staticky or just prone to that friction and prone to breaking and getting split ends right and so the easiest solution for that to keep your head warm and protect your hair is to get a satin or silk blind hat or headband. Now these are some of my favorites. I got the headband from etsy, it's a brand called marley autumn. It really does not matter what brand you get and you can also sew some satin or silk to an existing headband or hat, and this hat is from amazon. It is the brand l z, a i z. I am unsure how to pronounce that, but i can link these below if you are interested now. The hat is perfect for when i wear my hair down or if i wear a braid or a low ponytail, and it's just perfect because it keeps my head warm and it protects my hair now the headband is perfect to wear. If i do a bun or space buns or a high ponytail anything that's high up, you can also wear it with your hair down or braid whatever works best, and if you have bangs you can wear the headband over or under, and also wanted to give you Guys, a quick fashion and science lesson all in one. So when choosing what to wear in the winter months, just be mindful that some fabrics are going to cause more static, electricity and static electricity just basically means whatever that material. Is it either loses or gains electrons. Pretty quickly and can cause those reactions, so this is a perfect example of something that causes a lot of static. So this sweater is a blend. It'S acrylic and wool. So things like acrylic wool, cashmere fleece, they all cause quite a bit of static electricity and we tend to wear those materials more in the winter. So some things you can do to prevent static electricity is you can wear your hair in a braid or bun? That way, it's not as loose, so it's less likely to cling to the material or if you want to wear a ponytail or wear your hair down, or maybe you notice, the braid towel is becoming staticky or frizzy. You can take a non-toxic dryer sheet and just lightly put it against your hair and squeeze it, and it's going to help take out that static electricity. You can also do your own diy dryer sheet, and if you would like to see a video on how i have made diy dryer sheets, i'd be happy to show you, you can also buy hair sheets. The brand pacifica sells some. I actually saw these at target and thought wow. This would be great for this video and another reason i like the pacifica one is: it has really nice natural fragrance and so some materials you can wear that conduct less electricity include cotton, polyester and satin, and silk and wood is so much better to use than Plastic, especially in the winter, because wood conducts less electricity than plastic, so it loses and gains less electrons and is more stable, which in other words means you are going to have smoother and less staticky and frizzy hair. And for my shampoos and conditioners, i've been alternating between the maple holistic, silk 18 set and the aqua blue argon oil set. Now i love the maple holistic, silk 18 set because it's really good for dry hair and because of the winter, my hair gets more dry than usual and i love that it adds that hydration, but it doesn't weigh it down, and i also love the nice vanilla Smell and that they use no artificial fragrances or preservatives. If you want to check out my full review on this, you may and then i also have been using the aqua blue argon set. Now it's important to note this is the eight ounce formula and what makes this different than the 16 ounce formula is that this is totally fragrance free. Now, the bigger formula the 16 ounce is their new improved one, but i really like their old one better. So you can still get this on amazon. If you're looking for a good fragrance free, you can look for their old formula. This is also very moisturizing. It'S a little less moisturizing and hydrating than the silk. So that's why i like to alternate between the two of them. As far as washing frequency, i still wash pretty much every other day, so every two sometimes three days. So, even though my hair does get more dry in the winter, i still have oily scalp and skin, and so every other day works best for me and then, as far as hair masks and deep conditioning treatments go, it's been so simple, this winter, my favorite store-bought Deep conditioner slash, hair mask is by john masters organics. This is the rose and apricot one. I'Ve been using this for a couple years now and it's just my go-to and so the way i use this too is so simple, so i just use it and replace of my conditioner. So i just shampoo as usual and then i will use this on just my ends and i do it when i'm in the shower. So i only leave it on for like two to three minutes i rinse out. I don't have to use any additional conditioner and i'm good to go. So it's very time saving and it works really as a conditioner and then something that i started doing a couple months ago and i really love the results is adding just a little bit of apple, cider, vinegar, and so i put it in a tincture. So anything with a dropper, and you just do a couple drops and you mix them with your conditioner. You can do it right in the shower. You don't have to worry about making any mess and you don't really have to leave it on your hair. For a certain amount of time - and so i found success, mixing it in with the john masters organic, the aqua, blue, the maple holistic and the key is to pick a conditioner that you already love and what it does is. It helps detangle your hair. It helps with smoothness shine and it's just such an easy trick. Additionally, the apple cider vinegar, you can mix in with your shampoo of choice and it acts as a clarifier, and this is great if you want to save time - and maybe you don't feel like doing an apple cider, vinegar, rinse again, you just do a couple drops With your shampoo of choice, focus on your scalp and it really just helps clarify, adds that shine and is such an effective trick and then other days i will clarify. I find that i clarify less in the winter time just because my hair is a little less oily than usual and more dry. So my favorite clarifying shampoo that i found is the salsa blue naturals. Now it does contain a sulfate, but i only use it about once or twice a month for a while. I was using it every week, but now i'm finding every other week to once a month is a really good fit, and i only do my scalp and it feels so clean and good after using this and then about once a month. I love to do just a full on clarifying treatment and i will use the aqua blue tea tree oil shampoo and i will actually shampoo all of my hair. So i'll do the scalp and also the ends, and this is really good to do once a month, especially if you have oily scalp and if you've ever done, a hair mask whether it's store bought or a diy, and your hair just feels way down and just Kind of funky i like to wash all of my hair just to ensure it's clean and then, rather than using a conditioner, i will just go in with an apple, cider, vinegar, rinse and i use a very small amount. I would say: the ratio i use is one part apple cider to 10 parts of water, and it just works so well for my hair and then i just like to do weekly rinses, usually during the weekend. Sometimes i do it during the week, i'm just flexible and i have fun and then, when i get out of the shower, i usually just let my hair dry. Naturally, and then i will go in with a little bit of the rose elixir by the innate life and then i actually was just gifted this by the potter's mixtress. She made me a custom serum which has angra hue oil, ylang, ylang and vitamin e, so i've. Yet to try this, but i will just use a little bit just a drop or two and right now my hair is probably 50-ish percent dry um. I just washed it about two hours ago that i ran some errands and then just drove to work and then i'll just go in with this little tech comb. I love this one and i will just comb it in and then my bangs are pretty easy, especially when i wash them they just dry, really nice. I don't even have to style them or do anything to them and they just kind of come out. Nice and fluffy and have a little curl. Sometimes it goes inward, sometimes outward i just let it do its thing. So if anyone is thinking about curtain bangs, i really recommend them because they are so low maintenance and so other days. I will use a blow dryer, for example, today i washed my hair and it's still wet and i didn't have time to dry it fully. So what i did to protect my hair from going outside is, i put my hair in a bun, and then i just put this satin lined hat over it, and so it keeps my hair protected and actually today, it's pretty good weather where i live can be Pretty bipolar, we can have snow and cold one day and then the next day like today, can be in the 50s and sunny and beautiful anyways, my bangs pretty much dry, but i have the rest of my hair that is still very wet, especially the ends. So i will begin just by combing through my wet hair and because i am going to use heat today, i'm going to use a heat protectant now a lot of heat protectants contain silicones, because silicones are a great knit protectant. But silicones tend to weigh my hair down and i'm not saying silicones are bad, some people benefit for them. But personally i don't so. I really like the giovanni to chic dual action: protective leave-in spray, and this is an avocado in olive oil and just has natural oils and ingredients in it that protect your hair from the heat. So when i use this protective heat spray, i will not use any additional oils, because that is just overkill for my fine hair. So i will just begin by spritzing it focusing on the ends, give it a good spray up, and then i will just run it through my hands with my fingers and then just give it a good comb and then the blow dryer i'm using is a knockoff Or dupe of the fancy dyson one i spent about 35 on amazon - i don't know the exact name, but i can link this very one down below. If you are interested, i really like it thus far and i've never used a dyson, so i can't necessarily compare it, but i can say that it works really well and what i like about this blow dryer is: it has a cool air button. Then it has a warm and then a hot. I usually use the warm and i'll use a little bit of the hot, because the hot doesn't seem as hot as most blow dryers and one way you can tell is you put the blow dryer on your hand, and if it burns your hand, then that's an Indicator, that's going to burn your scalp and your hair i'd like to just split my hair in sections, so i will just put the top part up and just put it in a quick bun and then i will focus on the bottom. First, just go ahead and do the other part of my hair. So the part i already blow dried, i'm just going to put in a low ponytail just to get it out of the way and then i'm just going to let this remainder part down and then dry this part and so in between washes. I will do what is called a scalp only wash, because sometimes my hair falls flat and might be oily or sweaty or dirty. Maybe i did a really sweaty workout or whatever the case is. I just need a good wash, but i don't feel like washing my ends, so i will shampoo just my scalp and my bangs and if you want to see the full video, i have a full video up on how i do this. But i just basically put my hair up in a bun. Then i put a plastic bag over. It then a shower cap, and then i just proceed to wash my hair as usual, using shampoo and it actually cleans my hair, and it just feels so good afterwards and then other days. I will just refresh my bangs by using just cool the warm water and i just simply wet my things very lightly, and then i will just tuck my hair behind my ears. Let it dry and it comes out nice and fluffy and then, as far as winter hairstyles go i've been very low maintenance. I don't really use any heat on my hair other than the blow dryer once in a while - and this is my natural texture - i wear it down more in the winter because it is more cold and i just like having that extra warmth of my hair and Also, i just like to wear it down more in the winter than the summer because it just gets so hot having long hair down in the summer, and i recently discovered a really cute and easy heatless curl method that actually works for finicky hair types like mine. I love how cute and bouncy the curls are, and it just gives me a whole new look and if you would like to see a video on how i achieved these heatless curls, i would be happy to film my method. Just leave me a comment down below. I also like to do low ponytails and just simple braids, i'm puffing out the ends a little bit just for that chunky look, and i also like to do buns for some days when i'm just not feeling wearing my hair down. I recently found these short sticks on etsy and they're only about four inches, and i love that i can put my hair up and i don't have the sticks poking out, but they hold my hair very well. So if you are looking for something that functions but you're, not necessarily looking for sticks poking out, i highly recommend these, and so i have been just doing the nautilus fun and i like to wear it pretty high, and i love having bangs now and just having Something to frame my face other days, i will do a low nautilus bun. Sometimes i will spice it up and do space buns, and so that has been how i have been wearing my hair this winter and again, a big thanks to anna louisa for sponsoring today's video be sure to check out their website and their amazing sales and also, If you like, this video, be sure to like and subscribe, it helps me out big time and i really appreciate it and as always, peace, love and long hair and for those who celebrate happy holidays and for those who don't celebrate happy days. And i look forward to seeing you on my next video bye, guys you

Naturally Antonia: What is your winter hair care routine like? Also would you be interested in seeing my heatless curls method I use and how I make DIY dryer/hair sheets. Let's discuss below ❄️⬇️

Tracy: One blow dry tip: always direct the dryer so it’s blowing down the strand, parallel to the hair - it’s gentler on the hair. That way the heat is never directed *at* the hair cuticle. You can feel the difference if you test this on your hand - blow the air parallel to your palm, then point the dryer straight down into your hand. It’s a big difference! It’s also less likely to cause any frizz that way.

Nicole Renee: I love the idea of adding a CV to your shampoo or conditioner. My hair loves that stuff!

Lesley Elder: Hi Antonia hope your well loved your video, I've been doing the LOC after washing its been helping a lot! My ends get terribly dry in the winter. Would love to see how you did your heatless curls! Happy holidays and keep safe ❤
