Don't Forget To Live Your Extra Life.

Hi beautiful today we're taking a trip down memory lane one of my favorite bittersweet things to do because on one hand i love nostalgia. On the other hand, it makes me feel, like i'm aging, which is scary today, we're gon na watch some commercials advertising the most interesting hair tools. I'Ve ever seen. I hope it unlocks some hidden memories of my own and we can just look at what craziness was going on back then in the world of hair care. Let'S do it all right, so we're going to start off strong here, i'm already laughing, i'm looking at the title of this video, which is very simple title, but it says bump it. The word bump it's if it doesn't trigger you in some sort of way. You'Re. Definitely very young: are you tired of flat boring hairstyles? Do you go through a can of hairspray trying to get that full volumized? Look then bump it up bump it and get that salon style. Look fast and easy. Bumpits are the incredible self-dripping hair accessory that give you perfect style and volume everything go from flat to fabulous. Oh, what is that? Oh wait? What i don't remember this ever being a thing. I definitely remember bump it, and did i own them? No, if i had long hair would i have owned them? Yes, because i was definitely telling all my friends, you need bumpets and they were like what the is that - and i was like i'll, show you, but who, who is doing their hair like this? If you did your hair like this, please please let me know comment below this is the definition of helmet hair and i can't tell if i hate it or love it, and then the next girl is giving me first lady vibes, and i think i'm here, for It she's fully defying gravity with her bumpets here i literally have never seen anybody wear their hair, like this. Imagine being able to create today's hottest hairstyles in seconds oh and they're, so easy to use. Anyone could be a stylist, yes, queen pair at the crown, give a little tease insert bump it fluff it up and you're ready to go. I have a lot a lot of questions and if you know about bumpits, i need your answer. How did it stay in your hair you're telling me with just a little bit of a tease and a little piece of plastic? It just stays in your head all day. Did it not fall out? Was there a bump it hanging off the side of your head at some points of the day? Did that happen because it feels like that would like if the hair starts parting people are gon na be like? Why is there a piece of plastic sitting in your head? I'M not quite convinced that that actually is how it worked. I remember people using the tiny little bump bits to do like the little bump in the front of their hair, and then they put a clip behind it. That logistically makes a lot more sense to me than the crown bump it. But i don't know they won't fall out. Wear bumpets anywhere every day, they're, the easiest most versatile, hair accessory you've ever worn. One trip to the salon can cost over one hundred dollars. Oh god, the voice overs from 90s commercials holds a very special place in my heart. The fact that they're kind of screaming at you but they're also feel very friendly. At the same time, you need bumpits. Bumpits are the best tool you'll ever use. It'S like the way you talk to an infant, it's interesting, so why not pick up your bumpets today and get that salon? Look every day, you'll also get the small bumpets it's great to bunk your bangs or bump a ponytail. This is the look okay, we didn't do the whole back bump. It too people definitely did the front bump it. I was into the front bump it i'll. Tell you. I love that volume right in the front couldn't get enough of it. Yes, please bon apple teeth and the large bumpets perfect for those special occasions. Yes, princess of genovia girl. It'S like just tease your hair and put some hairspray in there it'll stay. This is a very unnecessary tool and the fact that they definitely sold millions and millions of units of this is just like it - just doesn't compute, plus the easy to follow style guide and this professional teasing comb choose from blonde light brown or dark brown black bump. It up with bumping, yes, remember to pick up your bum, oh she's, rocking it that looks like a party city wig. I love it. Where are these people now is what i want to know. Where are you guys? Where are you guys that were in this commercial? I want to know i'm out wherever you are and give us your story. How do you feel now? Do you still use your bumpet? Have you ever used your bumpet? What are you looking like? Why do i want one after watching that, should i do a video where i like? Try these things that'd be kind of fun bump it? You really got me. Let'S see if conair quick twist hair braider can make me want one as well, so i'm just gon na take a two inch section of hair and i'm going to separate it just like this, and the first thing that you're actually going to do is clip the Hair into the quick twist, so this is a qvc commercial she's, showing us how to use this braiding contraption that oftentimes tangled your hair so badly and got stuck in your hair, at least from my experience. I don't know about you, it's going to twist the hair. It'S scary and then you actually going to turn it in the direction that you want it to go once you twist, you can twist it all the way up. You can add accessories, you can add beads, oh hell, no, i owned one. I swear i did unless i didn't, but i'm pretty sure i owned one that twisted your hair and then twisted this way as well. This is like a lower end. One sorry, it's embarrassing, but mine definitely did it all my bad. I found the commercial and i found the one i was talking about. I wasn't going crazy. There was one the second edition. I believe that actually twisted your hair just watch the video. This is a fun commercial. It'S giving zero diversity, though it's none was non-existent. Infinity pro by conair twist up beautiful and endless styles effortlessly, that was the one. I remember, and i absolutely do need it see. The pro one makes sense to me that actually does save a lot of time if your hair does not get stuck. I think that one actually worked well, if i remember correctly and i'm intrigued by it still, because it is kind of hard to like twist and then twist this way, i would love just a machine. That goes not that i twist hair a lot, but if you do twists in your hair, this honestly still seems like - and i hope conair still makes it, but i'm pretty sure they don't. Let'S bring it back. Let'S start a petition hold on to your seats. For this next one, because i'm hitting you with a nostalgic product, this one unlocked a memory that i didn't know i had and that i haven't thought about since this day that i saw this. This is called haragami and i hope you had a moment like. I did when i just said that word and if you didn't maybe you'll know once i play the commercial in japan, the art of folding paper is called origami. Now experience the art of folding hair with haragami the snap action design tool for creating beautiful hair ease. Harigami is no ordinary hair accessory just fold, wrap and snap. It'S so easy to use just place. Your hair gummy at the neck then draw it down. Then fold wrap and snap. Your hair into the perfect bun just lift and fold to create great new fashions. The snap action secures your hair, no pins, no clip when i tell you that all i wanted in life was a hairagami. I truly mean that. The other thing, though, is that i kind of like hacked the horrigan horigami girl. It'S hairagami, you know the snap bracelets. That'S also another throwback, it was the same material as a haragami, so i would use those to do hair into those buns petition to bring this back sign up below these amazing hairstyles take minutes to do and they're all in the glamour guide. This is some of the most wild i've ever seen. I feel like i'd, just be impressed if somebody had their hair like this at an event or like literally just at work, i'd be all up in there staring like what. What is this sculpture in the back of your head? Haragami comes with a snap action scrunchie to create new ponytails. Look how easy! What is that? Why is there two ponytails in the back of her head, learn to make a pony heart that everyone loves so cute? Learn how to do other ponytails, just fold, wrap and snap. We should still be using these i'm bringing back every 90s early 2000s hair gadget ever i'm doing it. I didn't think this would unlock so much joy and happiness within myself. I was slightly depressed today and now i'm healed from these videos and we're back with conair conor. Did it again in 2002, and this is the conair quick wrap. I know i wanted this. I don't know about you. Yes, yes and you can quick wrap at home. One easy tool wraps hair strands with colored string, and then you decorate them with beads and charms quick wrap. Two spools of string battery beads and charms are yours for 24.99. When you call this number, it's easy, but you need a friend to help like this watch. The string in the strand - oh yes, hair wrapping is so great. Honestly, i want it to come back. It already has come back. I would make my parents buy me strings that i could invite my girlfriends over and wrap string around their hair. I found it so entertaining anything that had to do with string. I would make friendship bracelets. I would make them this wide. It would take me weeks to make these friendship bracelets, but besides the friendship bracelets, if i could put any kind of accessory in the hair, especially string, i was there. I did not have one of these, though it would have been way faster. If i did and sadly enough, that is the only commercial i can find of it, it is not great quality. You can't really see what's going on, but basically you inserted the string and it wrapped it around your hair and gave you this incredible. Look. I mean these were the vibes if you could do multi-colored and then do certain parts that have like the extra layer of different colored string on top, you were elite. Also, you know that i was in there doing like artistic knots. I was so good at these hair wraps that i would make it spiral and then it would change color and then i would change color again and then i put another spiral thing and then i put beads at the bottom too. So couldn't forget the beads. Oh, i love doing it like on the top of the head too, so you could really see it. Those were the cool girls, you know the girls who had the bot, the ones in the bottom like just a little bit just in case. I want to show it off, sometimes like i put in a ponytail and you could see it, but then you put your hair down. You can be like business, you know now. Next we have some tools that would add gems to your hair. Why was all the fun had so long ago and now we're all serious with our balayage? Where are the good times? This is the the quick gem by connor. I love how you needed a tool for this. The fact that you couldn't just take your hair strand and put a gem on it with stickiness on both sides, the fact that we spent our money, you can tell that this was pre-recession. The fact that we were buying tools that your fingers could easily accomplish is iconic. I owned one of these too or my friend did. I don't know somebody owned it. My closeted app probably did not own it, but i do remember playing with it and i do remember it not working at all. Iconic song, i'm gon na put that on my spotify playlist. It didn't work and i've also watched videos about people trying to use this thing. They all just fall to the ground, those gems - i don't know how i made them. Stick, i don't even know if they were that sticky either. This one was definitely a miss for me. Unfortunately, i do love a good gem and i do love a good gem in the hair, but this when it doesn't work it upsets me. We have the topsy tail. I know this name. I have never owned. One never used one and have hardly ever seen it. Let'S check it out the incredible hair fashion tool. Oh exciting. I remember it's so easy. If you can make a ponytail, you can topsy tail simply place the topsy tail in the center of the ponytail thread, hair through the loop and pull for. I want to the get topsy steps you can create dozens of dazzling styles for every occasion. In no time it's all right here in the glamour guide, top detail works on any hair type. Kids love topsy tail too school time play time anytime. It'S even great for shoulder length, hair now for less than the cost of. What'S all it did salon you can order, that's all it did complete with glamour guide for just 12.95 wait. They were selling the pamphlet on how to do this. For 12.99 people were making money back then order now and we'll also send you secrets to french braiding, create a whole new look in a whole new. You order topsy tail today. Imagine now you get youtube for free and you can learn anything 12.99. You had to order a book to know how to do this. All you got to do guys is just take your finger, put the hair in it and then pull the hair through the ponytail. You don't need to buy a tool or a book to do it. Wow we have come so far. That'S incredible! Imagine if, like your grandma or grandpa or parents invented the topsy tail and you got to tell people your family is wealthy because they invented the topsy tail. I could not ask for anything more than that. If you, mr and mrs taylor, out there, how are you doing today? Last but not least, this is called the conor quick bead always wanted to bead your hair, but had trouble figuring out how to do it yourself. Now, there's conair's quick bead that beats your hair automatically just feed the beads into the quick bead tool, separate out a strand of hair and press the on button. When my mom did my hair, it took forever not the mom shade. No, that was mean my mom took forever doing it. I'D be like get out of the house. This tool, though, really cool. The kit includes 40 medium-sized beads, 40 large ones and 10 snap-on bead holders. This one is cool. I didn't own it. I did own the thing that they showed in the beginning, with like the tool where you insert your hair, and then you push all the beads up. That'S also like a really easy way of doing it. You really didn't need the electric one, but was it cool? Yes - and you were definitely popular if you owned one, i'm just gon na say it: the mechanism was badass. You could only add like 10 beads, though, which was kind of sad, but i wanted like the full head, but you only could get a little section of it i'll take it. It made it really easy and i'm into it, and it definitely was worth the money and i still want one. All i want to do now is just go back in time and invent borderline hair tools that are useless, but also just bring you so much happiness. I need to buy all of them. Thank you guys for watching today. Don'T forget to follow me everywhere else. You'Re on my social media handles right here, also check out model, hair and x model color. They are linked below for you. We have so much amazing, hair care and amazing hair color. You can do anything you want to your hair to make you feel the most confident in your own hair. Thank you so much for watching, don't forget to live your extra life and i'll see you next time. Bye, guys you

Bianca N: I think we deserve a video where Brad gets ahold of all these products, plus butterfly clips, and gives Ms. Mannequin an early 2000s makeover!

Lori Bickford: I remember a tool that would stamp shapes into the hair like hearts and stars, and I think it had color as well, so you could have like pink hearts and blue stars. I think it had more colors and shapes as well. It was like a krimper but with shapes instead of waves.

Paige Sexton: As a former pageant girl, we wore our hair “bumpit” style. It was awful but it was what you did. And the bumpits actually sucked. You saw the plastic every time lol. I tried everything but classic teasing worked way better (but hurt waaaayyy worse hahaha!) I used to sing “killing me softly with this comb” every time my hair got fiercely teased and pageant ready.

Rosalie Dawn: I had huge scene hair in 2010-2013 and definitely had volume like "helmet hair" lady in the bumpit commercial but it was all teasing. My hair was so dead but perfect then. I miss scene hair. Bring it back!!

Sophia Taylor: Rarely did these ever work with black hair ... but I won't lie, loving the nostalgia. Especially the "you have to be 18 or older to order with your credit card" part at the end lol ... Now I get why my mom was like wait til you get your own money lol

Sylvie: As a small town girl I'm here to tell you, the BUMPITS were IT! we all had them and did our hair like that. Also yes they fell out, you had to bobby-pin them in. The girls running laps in gym class had their bumpits falling out all over the the place and their orange glow tan dripping off their faces. Ahh the 2000's

Adrianna Miller: Lol, my "never throws anything out" tendency is really showing in that I still have my harigami in my hair accessories drawer- haven't used it in well over a decade and moved three times, but it's still there!

Olivia Hall: I was a cheerleader from 2005-2009 and let me tell you, the bump it helmet hair thing was a LOOK. It my school, we only did the front bumps like Brad explained, but our rival school truly has the mindset of the higher the hair the closer to God. That, with really stripey highlights.

Krystine Villa: I remember having GLITTER TATOOS FOR YOUR HAIR when I was little. They worked perfect on a tight pony tail. I would use a wet towel to apply then. I saved mine for “special occasions” like a bday party

Trine Langohr: I'm so glad my 3-year-old has no idea that you can glue rhinestones into your hair. She's a magpie. If she ever found out, I would never hear the end of it. I can totally see why this commercial appealed to little girls. It glitters? They want it.

Write With Melanie : As a Millenial, I so appreciate this walk down memory lane! Also: who here remembers the little butterfly hair clips!?

Rebecca Jane Alderman: I would LOVE to see a video of Brad actually trying these tools out today.

Mikaela Suggs: Hairagami is still a thing. They were part of our ROTC uniforms in high school!

Pixie PixHell: These things are all over Wish as a “bun tool” which comes in a set with different sizes and other bits like the Topsy Tail tool for less than $5. I remember the hair wraps being something people would have done when they were on holiday in places like Greece, Spain etc. Please can you do a video with a model where you use all of these tools to create something…erm…interesting

Tisiphone Grey: The quick wrap. And the couple years where we all put fly fishing lures in our hair. Bring it back.

Pinky Sista: I remember the disappointment after using the Conair tools for jewels, beads, and twisting. They never worked on my hair, even after I tried it on straightened hair instead of my curly hair. And good luck getting your money back lol. Definitely would live to see you test these early items. There are knock offs by TV Brands of some of it

OcarinaSapph1r3 -24: I never had the gem machine, but I had the gems with a tiny dot of Velcro on the back- you basically had to rub them into your hair, but they certainly stuck around - I never found the card that had the corresponding soft side again, so when you _finally_ got them out, you had somewhere to put them- they just ended up in a TicTac box- & the Velcro came off all bar one - which I still have to this day; it’s a little aquamarine heart... I definitely remember having a TopsyTail- it only lasted for half a dozen stylings, before it broke!

FUNSIZEDCHILD: I was born in 1995 and I remember all of these commercials. I remember I always wanted a Bump it and hairigami so badly that I was begging my mom to buy it for me. Brad, you need to do a video trying out these products because just re-watching these commercials is bringing some nostalgia to me. Thanks for always making me laugh and putting a smile on my face whenever I’m down ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Skinwalker: Our Mother hand wrapped our hair a lot, we also learned how to do so ourselves. (: Getting them out was another story altogether. //It is easy to accomplish "topsy tail" without the tool, we did it with half-pony hairstyles. (:

meinenklinke: Can we talk about the fact that someone said bon appétit so incorrectly that it has now become correct? Like bone Apple Tea is a fully a thing now. I hope she’s proud.

Nydia Roque: I remember the topsy tail! My mom is smart with her money so she found it at the dollar store. She still has it to this day and uses it for special occasions (weddings, church events, holiday parties). Simple tool but it makes her look so elegant.

Rev. Cheryl Grice: I swear the only relief I have from depression is to watch Brad reviewing things...especially these older tools! (What, can I even say that, I'm almost 59, I'm already older!!) LOVE YOU BRAD!!!

Ren Harmeson: I used a topsytail all the time. It was way easier than doing it by hand when you have thin but dense hair They had some legit hairstyles in the book that came with it too. That one, I'd still use if I had long hair. Had it for years before it broke but the one I got to replace it was so flimsy

MetallicSarcasm: Brad's description of 90's commercial voice overs "where they're kind of yelling at you, but they also seem friendly" is the best and most accurate thing I've ever heard!

Grace Grenier: I'm an elder millennial and I totally had the Topsy Tail, loved wearing my hair like that for special occasions. Only downside is your ponytail had to be pretty loose for it to flip properly and after it was flipped sometimes it hurt because of how your hair was pulled. If I still had long hair I would totally bring this look back

Amy Bass: While I understand your feelings on the topsy tail, Brad. For those of use WITH LOT of fine hair, the topsy tail was so much easier and faster than trying to burrow through a huge ponytail.

Jehnna Anderson: Hairagami is literally all I wanted to own as a kid! I finally got one and loved it haha I actually only stopped using it a few years ago and I’m almost 30

ENMcA: I still have a topsy tail running around the house. The best one is the mini one for doing kids hair! So much easier when they move. Did anyone have these little flower type beads/clips like the gem thing but they snapped into your hair? I found one when I moved out of my parents out. Love the 90s

court durg: Brad: I literally have never seen anybody wear their hair like this Snooki: am I a joke to you

LuLuAnnE96: 10 years ago, I was playing at a volleyball tournament and a girl on another team was wearing a Bumpit under her ponytail. It was limp, sideways, and her hair was not covering the plastic anymore. She was dedicated to keep it looking ridiculous, rather than quickly remove it and keep playing.

Johanna Lizarraga: I had my daughter 4 years ago and my first purchase was the Topsy Tail was my first purchase! I could not wait to do her hair

Danica Hoyt: My hair tangled watching this. I was a bumpit queen. I did the medium bump in a half up style. That was my jam. All these tools hurt. Especially when it tangled your hair.

writerspen010: I wanted the hairigami tool soooooooo much as a kid!! It still crosses my mind regularly, as does the bump-it lol

Adriana Melendez: I remember in middle school some girls got in a fight and one of them had a bump it. It was dangling from her head and was super tangled in there. Glad that memory was unlocked

Kelli Rush: I never used these but when I had my short hair I would just use a teasing brush to get that volume. I was asked all the time if I had a bump it in and nobody believed me til they pushed on my hair lol

Stacie Ortiz: I still have my bumpits lol I don't think I ever went out of the house with the big one, it either shifted or my hair settled and exposed it. But that small one was the ish! I also have a topsy tail, it made styling both my daughters hair way easier when they were little. I always wanted the hairagami, hair sushi just... It was goals

Steffie183: I legit bought some Topsy tails about 5 years ago. My mom would use a wire hanger and it was painful. I rarely use them now but my youngest has long enough hair now, her hair is getting all the cute styles!

AJ Arnt: First time viewer and the nostalgia is strong I loved that hair wrapping look back in the day. I think I did it to my sister once or twice but nobody was around to do it for me. There was this one girl, Mackenzie, whose mom knew how to do it and she would walk around with four or five different colored hair wraps at a time. She was so cool. Remember the hair crimpers?? We had some crazy hair iron that doubled as a hair crimper with its removable heads.

Madison Passmore: His reaction to the bumpits styles shows he’s definitely not from the south. That was, and still is, THE LOOK for southern belles.

schnauzer mom: When I was a little girl I had a barbie that had a tool very similar to the quick twist. She was called Twirly Curls Barbie, Of course this was in the 80's. I remember hearing about girls using the twirller on their own hair and it getting stuck!

JLM: I used to tease my hair into a egg shaped bump then put it in a pony tail. My grandma owned a couple of salons, as soon as I had enough hair to practice with I was their practice model everytime they wanted to try something. I loved it.

Melissa Harmon: I never got a Topsy Tail, but I did those manually all the time, especially in reverse when I didn't have a clip but wanted one of those cascading hair pony tails where they used the clip to achieve it.

Cynthia Doe: I still have a version of the Topsy Tail! I actually use it occasionally, it works great for long hair!

Marjorie Thomas: Totally needing a video of Brad using all these nostalgic hair gadgets!!!! Please!!!!! We need this!

Immortal Moments Art: I have a Hairagami in my drawer, right now. Loved doing the hair wraps, was thinking about doing one just the other day! I have a topsy tail, too, used to use it all the time! (I have waist length hair). There were also gems with velcro hooks on the back, and you could stick those in your hair like the Gems thing and they stayed pretty well, I still have some of those, too. And I have hairsticks (very versatile!). I have some of the hair chalk, but it doesn't work unless you have light hair. I guess it's obvious why I became a cosmetologist! lol

Heather Hall: This is amazing! I had a Conair Hairwrap. It’s was so soooooo bad. It was easier and took less time to just do the knots, believe it or not. Thank you for the nostalgia

Savannah Currie: I had the braid thing, and I loved it! My mom used it on my whole head and put glow in the dark beads to hold them in place. I had a field trip to the imax the day after, and I was loving glowing in the movie theater lol.

Kristen Roach: My mom bought the bumpit on clearance somewhere... and she ended up giving them to me. I was like "Sure... maybe I can use these on Halloween??" I dressed as Priscilla Presley and used the largest Bumpit with tons of teasing to get my hair sky-high. It stayed pretty well, as the teeth held it in place. The hardest part was marking sure my hair was adequately covering the plastic. I ended up giving them away after this event, cause I don't need pageant hair! lol!

MusicalMeadows: Bumpit hair is definitely still a thing in the south. "The higher the hair, the closer to Jesus" is a saying for a reason. The original use of the Topsy Tail was stupid but the mini-topsy tail was a godsend. Especially once the hair bloggers got ahold of it. They were great for making faux waterfall breads and faux french braids!

Jessica Awesome-sauce: Yes! Bring back the hairagami!!! I loved mine and would love to use it on my daughters hair now! And there are so many more cool things you can do with tipsy tail hair tools now!! Like threading ombre blue and pink hair into your hair and braiding it. It’s called Unicorn braids!

hncounts: This is my first Brad Mondo vid (I've heard of him but never watched anything prior!) and I'm sold!!! I am definitely a 90's kid but he is totally onto something talking about bringing some of these things back!!!

that_kid nobody_notices: I was going through an old box today, and I found one of my mom's old jewelry boxes, and I found a topsy tail in it! I really went "hey I JUST saw this on Brad's video! No way!" I got way too much joy out of that

mmartens3: I love the topsytail. I still use it to this day on my youngest daughter!

LindsayD007: "the fact that this was pre-recession" explains so much about every bit of style from the early 2000's.

Melanie Gibson: Oh dear, how funny all of this was! I was feeling sort of down myself and it felt good to giggle. Thanks for cheering me up!

Ruby Love and Light: Brad goes back in time- invents Hairagami now it is owned by everyone due to his smashing YouTube success.

Tanner: The Conair twister unlocked my memories of my conair hair beader. It was the BEST Christmas gift I ever received.

Gretchen Kunde: When I wore bumpits they usually do stay in. The teeth on them really seem to grab well. I would tease both parts of the hair. The part going over and the part going under. If you push it against your scalp and push it toward your face to grab the hair and then wiggle it back and forth it would stay. The other thing is to really get it close to the separation. Pull the top section of hair firmly against the the bumpit to lock it in place.

Mary Walden: I will never forget going to a goodwill with my mom in 2014-ish and seeing a massive bin of Bumpits (probably 1000 boxes of the small, medium, and large bumps) with a big "FREE" sign on it. We asked a worker why they were there and they said "Oh they are out of style and no one will buy them anymore. We have to give them away. Sometimes we slip them in people's bags as they leave to get rid of them faster."

Kelley Scott: The wrap pony with the hairigami was my everyday style when I was in the 6th grade!! my poor granny would help me put it in my hair every morning.

Nicolle Velez: Omg Brad I owned the second one, the twisty machine! Totally rocked this! Haha but I always always wanted the Hairigami!

Mz.Molly Poppinz: I LOVED my Conair quick twist!!! Never got it stuck in my hair I definitely made fun of everyone using bumpits then and now

Cassandra Fujii: I remember all of these. Had the first twisty tool. I did my hair like the one brunette from the bumpit commercial but by teasing my hair. Now I use Schwartzkopf Dust It and definitely don't tease it as much.

Courtney Lia: You're 100% correct. I owned the Bumpits and unless you already had a ton of hair it was basically impossible to get the large one to stay in. I did however use the small one occasionally, but like you said you had to use a clip or bobby pins to keep it in and hidden under your hair. This (for me at least) was kinda inspired by the Snooki circa 2009 Jersey shore hair do

PixelDusk: I used the bumpits for goth/rockabilly looks, behind my bangs but it was the little ones..I had hairagami and it was good. I only ever did the half bun. I did the best hair wraps in college with Fimo beads.

Denise R: I loved my bumpit!! It totally gave me the Rachel hair I wanted! I use to tease and hairspray then rub it in with friction and it would hold the whole day QVC was my how to YouTube of the 90 and early 2000s!!!

Beck Duer: Loved Hairigami! If my hair was still long I’d be all over that!

DepressinglyOptimistic 2020: I’m remember having a tipsy tail when I was like 4/5 years old and having no clue what to do with it, but my sisters and I would still use it to do one another’s hair. I have seriously been wondering lately what it was called. This video brought back some rarely fun memories

Amie Parham: There were a whole troupe of girls at my college who would wear sweatpants, and do their hair with the bumpits and full on pageant makeup. It was ridiculous-looking.

Nancy Thornton: You are so much fun to watch Josh! I remember thinking as a teen how useless some of these were but dang if I didn't want to buy them anyway!

Gwen Simonalle: Boundless joy. This channel is so much fun. Thanks, Brad!

The Lorak: Whoa, nostalgia! I had the Topsy tail and different versions of quick gems (velcro instead of springs) and hairigami (bendy instead of snapping). Also, my mom used to twist my hair - the tools always freaked me out thinking my hair would get stuck and rip out!

mmartens3: Yes! I had the hair twister for my kids in the early 2000’s. It was horrible. So many tangles and knots.

kimbianajones: I remember my "stylish" friend giving me a prep makeover freshman year circa 2006 by putting me in 2 layered hollister henley shirts and doing the front bang bumpit in my hair. She gave it to me at night and I had no confidence about being able to recreate the look myself, so I slept with it in so I could wear it to school the next day.

empressmarowynn: I had a topsy tail! My mom would use it on my and my sister's hair all the time until we somehow lost it, but yeah since it's so easy we just kept doing it without the device.

Sarah Nevra: I wanted a Hair-igami SO BADLY when I these commercials were on air! I never got one, but I did have a Quick-Wrap. That thing actually worked pretty well as long as you used the right thickness of string/thread/embroidery floss. I also had a Topsy Tail when it came with the book. My hair was too thick and JUST too coarse to make good use of it, it definitely did best if your hair was really silky.

MikeyJules69: I tried the Topsy Tail back in the day, and it never worked for me. My hair is really thick and coarse, and it was hard to pull my hair through and get it to last. I think the girls who had fine hair were able to get it to work the best.

Amanda Bolgiano: I visibly remember using the bumpit on myself. It definitely fell out unless you pinned it in. Then, my super fine hair would separate on top through the day and you could see it. Also the topsy tail caused me so much actual pain as a child. I had long hair, I was tender headed, and Mom was rough, lol.

Garnet97: I would love to see Brad do his own 90’s/00’s commercial for his products. It’s would be iconic!

Andrea Garcia: I also had so many of these! The twisty one was my favorite!

The3GMom: I’ve had a topsy tail for years. My daughters wanted feathers in their hair whenever that was, maybe 10-12 years ago.

Meow Rchl: I had the mini bumpit for my bang area, i bought it bcuz i thought it would make getting ready faster, BUT NO!! It never stayed in, it was complete trash, and super heavy! I got a knockoff one called Bump'er, it was just velcro, but it was so sticky it had to be cut out of my hair!

jackie_jrml79: Pleeeease bring it all back and do a review on these! I actually want that twisty braid tool! Lol

Jamie Vibanco: Yaaaas. Pleeeeaaasse do a video of you giving manne-quin and her friends early 2000 makeovers! Fabulous idea! They just flow Brad. That powerful creative artist mind. *muah muy bonita!!

LMB: The Topsy Tail was amazing, my mum had one and did my hair like that all the time and I felt the COOLEST!

Carla Lopez: Right here!! I used the mini bump it for the front of my hair and had medium platinum blonde hair. It wasn’t too crazy it was a subtle volume. I am doing well I’m 29 now and my hair is no longer blonde. My hair is virgin dark brown and down to my hips. ‍♀️

Shadow Pheonix: When you weren't born in the 90s but still remember and loved all these products.

Kassidy Shelford: My mom loved bumpits back in the day. She used clips to hold them in place. She used the smaller ones on a daily basis and big ones on rare occasions. I couldn't handle having any clips or tools in my hair. My mother thought it was much better than trying to style her hair for hours. Some days she did have a bumpit dangling from her head by evening.

Getting Creative with Tiffany: I wanted a topsy tail SO BAD that my dad actually made me one out of a wire coat hanger. (Yes he was THE BEST) And it was everything i needed in my life.

A. D. Stephenson: I had the topsy tail. I have thick naturally curly hair & I was able to do those ponytail styles so much easier than just using my fingers.

Kadesh Hendricksen: Proud of myself to this day that a friend of mine when I was a teenager wore the hair wrap I did on her for months. I thought she'd get bored with it after a week but it became her thing and she just rocked that shit! ;D

tilly c: Ok, but I literally use the hairigami device all the time still XD great for performances and it holds amazingly when you get the wrapping technique right.

Linden Peters: As a child of the 80s and 90s, I can say from experience that the Topsy Tail made it so much easier to achieve that look. The pointed end of it created a nice clean part, and made it painless. Trying to make a part with my fingers was messy and the stray hairs parted every which way, that could really hurt. Also yes, the Hairigami was fun to use! I didn't use it much because it was difficult to get my wavy hair to sit just right in it, spread out evenly, AND not look all bumpy from the front.

aj0789: As a late teen/young adult in TEXAS when the bump-it’s were all the rage I can 100% confirm all of your suspicions about it. They did NOT stay in your hair and they did NOT stay hidden. Garbage. Pure garbage. And we were all SO MAD.

Megan James: I have the topsie tail for both of my girls now, and they LOVE when I do styles with these! And ngtl, if I could find a working twist braided, I would buy 10 of them!!! My oldest wants a twist (not a braid mom, a twist) in her hair almost EVERY DAY!! And it's hard... especially with a broke finger haha. The hair dazzler- yep, totally hated that thing!! And the string thing.... one of my friends had a bald spot in her hair from where it got stuck in her hair at the top and her dad had to cut it out eek!

Lauren Smith: I think I owned every single one of these hair tools, when I was a kid, except the hair bumper one oh the nostalgia ☺️

MittyKitty: I still use my hairgami, thankfully I bought many back then. As the mother of a preteen during the late 90s early 2000s I had to become very adept at using most of these gadgets. My daughter had waist length hair and that stupid braiding gadget never failed to make a huge knot

Meagan Collins: We all wore our hair big like that with the bumpits, Brad!! I had the hair twister thingy lol I never had a hairigami, but I always tried to do the bun with a snap bracelet. It did NOT work. I definitely had the hair string wrap thing and the bead one, and they were such a mess!

Michaela Thompson: The hairigami was honestly a lifesaver for my dad when he had to help me put my hair up in a bun for ballet when I was little. The memories haha!

Giana T.: This brought back so many memories! Am I the only one who remembers when those little thin, colorful feather hair extensions were popular?
