How To Create Ancient Chinese Hairstyles

Today’s video is about how to create hanfu hairstyles or ancient Chinese hairstyles. All you need are some hair pieces. It’s the easiest way to recreate an ancient look.

Hanfu, meaning Han Chinese Clothing, or as I'd like to call it Han Couture, is what ancient Chinese people wore for thousands of years.

Traditional Chinese Clothes changed from dynasty to dynasty and there exists hundreds of variations.

Hey guys welcome to Five Thousand Years. Today’S video is about how to create hanfu hairstyles. All you need. Are these hair pieces It’s the easiest way to recreate an ancient look., So let’s begin First part the hair in the middle, Take the top section on each side and tie it up, so the hair pieces can have something to clip onto. I didn’t use hair inserts. This time, but I think the look will be more complete with them. The first one is a pair of hair pieces. The shape is a hair loop attached to a small cup, and there is a clip inside It’s super easy to wear., Just flip the clip up and insert it into your pigtails. This pair of hair pieces is created after the main character from the drama “The Journey of Flower” It’s, a super cute hairstyle. It’s. Also the easiest to put on and off Next is one of the most commonly used hair pieces for ancient hairstyles. I have three different sizes here.. They are all attached to a fabric base. Let’S begin with the smallest one.. There is a clip on the base for attaching it to your hair. This size, however, is too small to use alone.. You can use it in combination with a large one like this. The medium one also has a base and clip Secure it with bobby pins, It’s very soft, so it’s easy to insert hair pins into the sides or the center of the hair piece for decoration It’s. A bit small to use as a stand alone, hair piece, in my opinion, The large one, on the other hand, is the right size to use on the back.. There are bigger ones available if you need Make sure to secure it with bobby pins. This is a useful hair piece to increase your hair volume on the back, but it can look a bit obvious when the rest of your hair is flat like mine. So here we have another type of hair piece that has no base attached. This is the smaller size. Compared to the one from earlier. You can twist this one. However, you like There is no clip attached to it, so use hair pins to secure it in place. This one is also a bit small to use alone, but you can use it as a filler wherever you need. This is the large no base hair piece It’s, basically made of two bunches of synthetic hair twisted together and looped inside a hair net Use hair pins to secure it in place. Apparently, I didn’t make it even on my head, but that’s okay it’s easy to readjust the shape using hair pins. So this is what it looks like in comparison to the hair pieces with a base.. The one without a base is more natural. Looking Next, we have a few more hair pieces in ready made shapes.. We have to first prep our hair in order to use them First section the hair from the front Select a coin sized hair from the top.. If you have thick hair, make sure to take a smaller amount, Tie it up and braid, it Wrap it in a circle to make a tight, bun and use hair pins to keep it in place. Make sure it’s tight and secure Now take a section above the ear and tie it up close to the top of the head. Do the same thing: on the other side, I’m using a pair of hair inserts to make my hair look, fuller, Bobby, pin it down and combine the front section with the back I’m using hair wax to tame down the flyaways Braid, the two hair sections Last, but Not least tie up the rest of the hair on the back and we are ready to put on hair pieces. The first one is called a single head hair piece in Chinese. The top is soft, and the bottom is a cup shaped base with a hair clip inside Bring the clip and stick it inside the top bun we made earlier, But it’s still really wobbly and the cup is too hard to penetrate with bobby pins and that’s. Why? We need the braided hair as straps to hold it in place, Wrap one side tightly and pin it down and then wrap the other side from the opposite direction. Use lots of hair pins to keep them in place. Now your hair piece is safely secured, I’ll show you what to do with the back later. The next one is called a double head: hair piece in Chinese It’s, a simplified version of a common Tang dynasty hairstyle. It has the same cup shaped base and a clip inside. Secure it the same way as earlier and wrap the hair braids around. I used this one in my face: decorations episode.. You can decorate the top with flowers or hair pins. Next is a long twisty, hair piece.. This is a medium size.. You can find larger ones with a longer top for a more dramatic look. There is a metal wire inside to support the shape. It’s soft enough to bend it. However, you like, I, sometimes bend it like this and use it as a back piece, The normal way to wear it is using it standing up. It’s too tall for my taste, so I usually wear it like this. I used it in my hair history, video and put on a few hair pins for decoration. This last one is a gift from a friend.. It looks like a hair prop used on stage. I think you can wear it in two ways: either on top like this and put some big flowers in the middle Or on the back like this. Both ways will give you the typical Tang dynasty, look especially with flowers added. This is an example of a similar style from the drama “The Longest Day in Chang’an”. This is the final look from the front., But don’t forget to cover the back as well. You can use a small hair piece. We reviewed earlier for a quick and simple fix. I had a lot of fun, creating different looks for my videos using these hair pieces Out of all the ones I mentioned today. This type is my favorite, Because it’s really versatile and also useful in a lot of scenarios, I will be making more videos about traditional Chinese culture and values, as well as Chinese beauty and fashion, so don’t forget to subscribe. If you want to learn more, Thank you for watching. I’ll, see you next time.
