Hey everybody, its Jamie and I don't know about you, but I go through a lot of hair ties. I find them on my nightstand and then on my desk and then on the couch and then pretty much everywhere. Except you know my bathroom drawer, where I need so, if you're like me, then this craft is for you get ready, as I show you how to make your own hair accessory organizer. Let'S do it girl, okay, so for this craft, you'll need scissors a ruler. An writing utensil decorative material from card stock to ribbon to duct-tape, decorative filler from rice to beads, cardboard, plastic bags or wrapping and adhesive from craft glue to double-sided tape. You'Re also going to need what I'm going to call a cylindrical base for your organizer. It needs to be wide enough for your hair ties to fit around, but not so wide that it stretches your hair ties out. I found that a basic paper roll works perfectly here, but if you find a container that fits the same measurements go for it all right, let's give this DIY. A hair tie try step 1. The first step is to decorate your cylinder, lay your tubes bottom against the edge of whatever material you choose mark the top of the tube and then trim your material to match the tubes height roll, this material around the tube until it's completely covered, where you'll make Another marking using this marking again trim it down to size. I ended up with the rectangular piece of cardstock 4 inches tall and 6 inches wide wrap. This finished piece around your cylinder, locking it in place with your adhesive and technically you're done string on your hair ties and you're good to go now. This is really more like a DIY hack instead of a tutorial. So let's take it a few steps further. The next step is to add what I'll call a side strap to your organizer using any decorative material. You can make a horizontal strip around the border or you can dip the ends of your material into the top and bottom of your cylinder for a vertical strip. Either way glue the ends of your strip in place to secure it against your organizer, and now you have a way to attach bobby pins and hair clips, as well as hair ties, which is great because I find my bobby pins wherever I find my hair ties As well as in the car or on the floor or in my jean pockets, let's just say my bobby pins are just as excited for this organizer as I am now, this craft looks great, but it's not exactly the sturdiest thing in the world. That'S why I recommend weighing your holder down place in a plastic bag or plastic wrap at the bottom of your organizer, then trace out a circular piece of cardboard, the same size as your cylinder or slightly larger, create an identical piece of decorative material before gluing. The two together then glue everything to the bottom of your organizer in order to cover it once it seals it's time to add in your filler 3/4. All of the way the weight of your filler will help keep your organizer in a locked position. You'Re, placing in and removing hair ties, plus it will help prevent the cardboard from denting in from the tension of your hair, ties, feel free to use the filler as a way to place in additional accessories, otherwise cover the top of your organizer. The same way that you did its bottom feel free to add in any last decorations from there, whether you bedazzled the top cover, or you can place a small mirror on top of it. So that way, you can see how your ponytail looks on the go and there you go. Your hair tie. Organizer is complete. This craft is awesome because it costs next to nothing and it can be used for basically ever you could use nearly any decorative material here. For example, I use duct tape, cardstock and fabric from an old t-shirt or switch up. Your side strap material like using a strip of magnet as opposed to ribbon. You could also switch up its size, whether you cut your tube in half, in order to make a per size mini hair tie organizer or make your cylinder twice its size with any bigger container in order to accommodate something like headbands instead of hair ties. Finally, a way to keep my hair accessories in place now I just need to find them all. She'S got them. What type of hair accessory organizer did you make tweet me at Jamie Patito, Instagram me at hey, Jamie or just let me know on my fanpage on Facebook. If you had fun making this hair tie.
