Hairstylist Jason Lee shows you how to simply DIY elegant hair accessories that will add instant fun to your ‘do.

Mr. Bo's two barrettes the hottest trend. This season is hair accessories, so here to give us the lowdown on how to dress up your. Do I've got Jason with me. We'Ve got some models. We'Re gon na show you how it's done accessories, we're seeing them on runways. We'Re seeing them outside on the street, so you're gon na show us some fun ways to wear them, starting with our first model, Kathleen, that's right, so the hottest trend right now, 1,000 % are hair accessories from barrettes and bows, and all these different crazy things and What happened was that the tipping point happened during New York Fashion Week, where everybody fashionistas influences, everybody was wearing them, and one of the show you on Kathleen how people are wearing hair accessories right now and so Kathleen often wears her hair in a very natural beach Wave and one of the ways that people are doing, it is just a bit of the side, just kind of pulling the hair back and we're mixing and matching that's the whole trick. We want to mix some rhinestones with some pearls and some bobby pins with some clips and it's a great way to kind of express yourself and show you know your own personal style and it's so cute, and I think it works well on everyone to kind of Just dress it up a little bit more okay, so we think hair accessories and we think, oh so prim and proper, and it's not necessarily because you're mixing them all together. Exactly that's the new way to be doing it. That'S how you keep it modern. Also, the truth is that, if you're looking for something that's a little bit more classic a little bit more timeless yeah, we brought in a call here and Nicole, often wears her hair in a topknot, and it's a great way. You know after your second or third done without washing, but how to make it more dressed up is to add a couple of accessories. Just like this again mix and match. Don'T do necessarily the exact same thing and it doesn't have to be perfect. You want to kind of show it off in your own way: customize it for yourself and you've done like big chunky pieces like these are not just little tiny things, which is what we have been doing lately, but you've done big chunky pieces and that's part of What you're seeing that's right? It'S a great way to really express yourself, and you know, here's a perfect example. I mean hey. This was a look that we did see. Kind of you know on street style, fashion bloggers, it's a little bit more dramatic, but Danielle here, she's comfortable being a little bit more fashionable. Okay, I want to see what's going on with tick tock, so this is on purpose, your hair accessories in your head. At one time, this is what you're seeing on this is what you're seeing this it's absolutely a little bit more dramatic. If that person who's a little bit more fashionable now, they're beautiful accessories, you can always do it more to your own taste. Obviously we wanted something. A little bit more dramatic a little bit more fun, some of them here. Actually we did as a do-it-yourself and we're gon na show you really quickly how to do that yourself, but these pearls right in the throat here. Aha, we made those and we're gon na talk about that as we go. Those are actually my favorite pieces. Oh good, beautiful pieces here, some incredible accessories. We have rhinestones, we have barrettes, we have combs, you know. Headbands are a great way to dress up. If you don't want something, quite so dramatic, like Danielle, yeah and also the big return, is the scrunchie right. Everything is 90s again. I show you them right here. We'Ve all seen it we've all worn it. We had some fun with these. The thing that's fun is that some people were continually wearing them since we're happening, but they're back now and another great way to kind of dress up a really cute like low ponytail is maybe like a bow. So it could be perfect for people who you know. Don'T necessarily want to do like all the crazy rhinestones, but something a little bit more fun. It'S very 80s. The whole thing is very eight 100 % gray, and then lastly, you know one of the things that I did kind of growing up throughout. You know, as I started doing hair, so we would always do these different hair accessories, but we make them ourselves, and so all you really need are different: hair clips or bobby pins or little hair. You know accessories and we literally one of the hottest trends. Absolutely is you're gon na see customized rhinestone wording, and so this is one of them here at this's. You know to express myself: it's work, cuz Jason Lee likes to get down like that. Let'S work action, so this can say anything this could be. This could be. You wish. Okay, show us how you made these, of course, so all that you're doing is you're. Taking some industrial-strength glue, yeah, it's a hair barrette that we had yeah. We literally went out to an art store, so you just pick up, you know or a beat store and they'll. Have you basically wants to just attach it on make sure that it completely dries? It'S also a name tag guys, so you can you're, never gon na get lost and you're gon na see a lot of this, and so we really just glued it on yeah, I did dry before you put in your hair, obviously right and it just it tears On it, it's not gon na come off. If you're using industrial-strength glue yeah, it is not coming off anywhere, so you find the little pearls you can do different sizes, not you want to put on too, but you get the hair clip. So these are the things you use makes these all the time in my hair, yeah glue them in and that's fun. You know what have fun with it. What I'm finding with fashion hair makeup and everything in between is that personality reigns, and so it really is about not taking yourself too seriously through it and just having a little bit of fun expressing yourself. Thank you, Jason
