Curly Natural Hair Wash Day Routine 2022 + Braids Takedown *Start To Finish*

My curls back baby, quit playing with me: hey y'all, it's all of destiny, so today we're back with another maintenance day routine today i'll be taking down my one month, old, knotless braids and showing you all my natural hair care wash day routine start to finish. So if you're curious about the products i use and how i style, my natural hair then definitely keep watching. Let'S go ahead and get right into the video, so i had a little bit of assistance taking down my braids while i was just sitting in my desk. Doing some video editing and before i knew it they took down half of my braids. I was like period. Thank you so, the next day i was like. Let'S go ahead and get this process finished. I felt like doing it that same night, but i didn't feel like recording it. I was like they're going to kill me if i don't have this content. I broke the end of my red tail comb, but i'm still want to use the metal tool part. That'S all that i need. I slide that down the middle of the braid. It helps to unplug unravel it. As you work your way up, i make sure that i'm working my way all the way up to the root and thoroughly detangling each individual braid. That way, i won't feel overwhelmed once i've taken down all the braids attempted to detangle the entire fro. I attempted that method where you kind of like clump, a few of the braids together and comb them out all at once, but it was slowing me down more. So than being effective, so i was like never mind. Let'S not do that. I wanted to just kind of chill watch a movie while i take down my braids realistically, if i wasn't recording this is exactly what i would have been doing so i was like okay. Let'S give the camera what we would have been giving the girls anyway movie that i chose to watch is called look both ways on netflix, not sponsored, but i definitely recommend it and thank you all should check it out. The end message is very encouraging and motivating, and i got a lot of positivity from the video. Sometimes we think we can plan out our life in the way that we want it to go. Have this by this time have this at this age, but it's not always for us to plan and organize way way way further along the line, because you could be throwing a curveball that may not have even been on your little plan that you wrote out for Yourself, but at the end of the day, what's for you you'll always have it. I always trust the process enjoy the journey, don't overwhelm yourself with overthinking every aspect of your life. What'S for you at the end of the day, you'll always have it and nobody can take that away from you. Oh my god, i have about 20 minutes left of the movie that i'm watching it's so good on netflix, look both ways. I love it so much if y'all haven't seen it check it out. I started it the other night and then i fell asleep on it and i was like. Let me just pull it up. You know like because sometimes i feel like doing things sometimes. I can feel like, oh, i feel like taking my braids down, but i don't feel like filming, and so it's like, okay, bring the filming to what you're doing. Then that's one of the things i love about youtube. You can kind of in a creative way. Do it, however, you see fit and still have it basically go with your lifestyle, because if i wasn't filming, that's how i would have been taking my braids down anyway, just like watch your teeth when the braids are all out. I like to detangle my hair even further to make sure that i'm combing out all of the hair that's been shedding over the past month of me wearing these braids before i move on to the wash day process. So i like to start off just by rinsing. My hair with warm water - you can see right now that, as the products are running, it's kind of white right, but the more i rinse my hair and wet it with the warm water. It'S going to eventually turn a little bit more clear. That helps me to get out some of the products before i even begin using shampoo. So the shampoo that i'm using today is the pantene moisture boost shampoo. This one is a part of the go series line. I love the shampoo. You can see that even with this being my first wash, that is like rich, it's like a creamy leather, and i like that. It'S going to help to soften my hair and it's also a gentle shampoo, but it's effective. So it is going to remove the product. Buildup, so to give myself like a scalp massage, while i'm shampooing my hair, i use my scalp massager and i alternate as well with my hands and the shampoo is like under 10 and i'll link. All of the items that i'm going to be using today down below, as requested by my dermatologist, i want to take my ketoconazole shampoo. This one is two percent. I only have to apply it to the affected area, so i do have scalp psoriasis, but i focus this on the front of my hair because the back doesn't really need it, and then i allow that to sit for about five minutes just following the instructions. Basically, and then i rinse it out, i don't always mention this shampoo. Sometimes i just say that i'm taking my dermatologist prescribed shampoo and that's mostly because it has to be like provided to you. You can't get it over the counter, so yeah. If i don't say it all the time - and you see this video now, you know so after rinsing out the shampoo i like to take a hair mask or like a deep conditioner. So today, i'm using the cream of nature hair mask to replenish the moisture, prevent breakage and it also strengthens the hair. It'S really good at detangling as well. Another one of the claims is that it's supposed to tame and control the frizz i'll, let y'all be the judge of that by the end of this video in sections. I take a good amount, don't be stingy with the products, especially if your hair is like straight out of braids or something you need to deep condition. So take your pick. I either use my shower comb or i'll use my detangling brush from amazon, whichever one i use my way of detangling and working the product through my hair, it started from the bottom and working my way up to the top, even though i detangled, while my hair, Was in the fro, this is going to help to be more effective without breaking my hair off, while i'm trying to detangle, and then i kind of just twist up the section and pin it up. I like to allow the hair mask to sit for about 20 minutes. I think i let it sit for like 20-30 minutes. I didn't want to just stand around in the shower while letting it sit. So i kind of like proceeded with my body care routine. I got dressed and all of that, and then i just came back to the shower since my setup was already in here to rinse it out and with me using the handheld shower head. I can kind of guide this to where the rest of my body is not going to get wet, because i don't like to have the conditioner and everything all over my skin. Once i've finished my body care routine, i like to go ahead and apply my curl activator. Immediately after rinsing out my conditioner, i found that that works best for my style of hair. I don't type my hair so if y'all want to kind of like type the curls for anyone else, that may be curious, y'all can put that down below. So i like to take the buttercream by pantene. I apply that to my hair. First, it's basically like a moisturizer after that i follow up with more of the curl activator, i'm so sad. They discontinue in this product. I got ta like find it and buy up a bunch of them before they, like all the way gone. So i worked that in my hair as well. Oh, this was my first time having this product y'all, it's the curl awakening spray by pentane as well. This one is really good for like that daily refreshing of the curls, because it's lightweight, but it's effective at the same time, yeah i don't have any hair gel here. I should have double checked all of my products. First, i've had my hair in braids like back to back to back. Why am i talking and i forgot - i took my mic off of my camera. I had braids in june when i went to miami had braids in july for my birthday, which led into august because they just lasted that long jumped in july for the first set of braids july to august for the second set of braids. Basically, i don't have any hair gel because i haven't needed any and i'm not even going in sections. It'S clearly been a while, since i did my hair, i'm a little crazy trying to go in the store. It'S soft though i just need hair gel. Don'T you hate when your hand get real slippery, you can't pump anything. This is the hydrating oil by the glo, the gold series. If i had gel, i would either use uh eco or wet line, so, whichever one i see at walmart, that's what i'm gon na get my hair doesn't mind either one of those i'm lazy, that's why this section is huge, but it should be about this size. Eclipse this is taking way longer than usual, because i've been filming the instagram reel and this video at the same time, so i have to rotate the camera. This way i mean i could have used the vlog camera for one and then this camera for the main video. My hair isn't going to curl, oh god or another option would be if i did each section like this, but it's going to be too soft like if i was to do it like that which could work. Actually, let's see something different for once versus just a regular wash and go. Oh, if that's the case, i got twisted cream. This is the cream of nature. All of my products are like gold watch that using all gold packaging, except for the one prescribed by my dermatologist - i'm not gon na admit that ever cause. I need it. So this is the moisture whip twist and cream by cream of nature. I always use the same types of products on my hair. I don't like switching it up just for the sake of youtube. If my hair likes a certain thing, i like to give it that i know that you like this, but i'ma try something else. Instead, why? Okay, we're gon na make it work. Let'S try this so i'm gon na layer all of my products, but then, when i begin twisting, i'm going to make sure i have this twisting cream on my fingers. It'S going to take a long time, but if it looks pretty it's worth it, i'm tripping. I need to get out the uh ointment that i need to put on my scalp when i get to the front and then hair grease in the back. It'S still gon na dry frizzy. I don't have enough product they're. Killing me today should have been a leg day. Why would i work arms today to continue working on, like that's so stupid of me? Oh god, they weren't hurting at first. This is really something i could sit down and do because these parts don't have to be straight or anything, it's just a matter of overlapping your moisturizers and putting enough oil on top so that when it dries, you do have a little shine to it. But it's not taking any effort as far as looking in the mirror to do this doing what it needs to do as far as being smooth - and it is this side is already, i wouldn't say, dry, but it's gon na not dry down white, at least so. I'M happy about that. Okay, let's finish a few more and i'll, be back! I'M making my hair look shorter doing this honestly, it wouldn't be a style that i'll do all the time. It don't matter to me about like trying to show the length and like stretching my hair, but i wouldn't want it to intentionally. Look look shorter if, if it would hang like this compared to that, but it's okay because believe it or not. When you twist your hair, like this in a hairstyle, for whatever reason it lasts longer than just what for me than just a wash and go, i think because you're defining the curls a little bit more and kind of clumping a few of them together. I don't mind it though um i think next time i would definitely sit and do this for the sake of filming you kind of set your lights and all of that up, it's kind of pointless to move them. It takes a lot. This makes me feel like i roller set my hair. This is what it reminds me of like a wet set with flexi rods, but you get your remote results immediately without having to let your hair dry, i've been going back and forth trying to collect this instagram real footage yeah i randomly had an instagram reel. Do so well, like literally in four days it made it reach like 500 000 views and my subscribers just not subscribers my followers just like shot up. It'S sad that we can't publicly be excited about things, because that makes people say. Oh her number shot up. Okay, i can fix that and then people go unsubscribe, but i'm learning to not be a person that even cares about stuff like that it just comes with the territory at the same time, for whatever reason, i think i've gotten in the instagram algorithm really good, like She'S liking me right now, like my instagram reels, would normally do like eleven thousand thirteen thousand thirty thousand yeah. I was like excited to see the couch so that instagram really like 60 000. and then, of course, there's other factors like choosing the right hashtags. All that good stuff, which i barely even hashtag, that video it just did well, i think i've never really shown my maintenance style on instagram and people appreciated that, and so many girls are like well like you can do your own braids and your own nails. I'M looking past you out the mirror people gravitated towards this. So right now, i'm just like. Okay, i'm on her good side. Let me stay on her good side, but yeah. I won't talk numbers too much because i mean that's the sad reality of when you speak of being excited for your accomplishments, from going from, like it's like, if you stay kind of consistent, consistent meaning, if every time i post a real, it gets eleven thousand another One gets 15 another one gets 30, but i have like that range. What i stay in between and so to see to see a difference in that just like whoa like randomly. I can't refresh and they're, like oh my god, this thing going up and up and up and up and up we're almost done so i'm guiding a lot of these kind of forward and just framing the face with it. I hope i set up the lights really good. Lately i've been learning to let my camera be a fly on the wall. It'S there, but just enjoy yourself destiny do what you would naturally do and let the camera just catch you. I think my hair is going to turn out okay without me, having gel i've, never that, i remember i'll, say on camera: i've never styled my hair without having a hair gel. So for, however, many days this will hold i'm cool with that, but the braids are gone so waking up and just laying my edges - that's overweight! It'S hard to like want to thank people for support, but also kind of be hush-hush about the things that you're excited about because of the reality of different things like i've seen it happen before i've had proof in a screenshot of wow. My numbers was right here and the moment i said thank you for 100k. It started dropping like it's hilarious that things like that happen kind of weird but hilarious. At the same time, i don't know i like this style, though it's cute. This is trial and error. Whenever i do something like, if i wouldn't have filmed this, it just would have been me just trying it for the first time just to see what happens. I'Ve been rethinking my porosity, though i never did the test before, but i was watching a tick tock. Actually, i'm gon na take like i'm tick tock. Now i made an account. I was watching one and the girl was giving different signs of high porosity. I was like wait. That might be me so, oh yes, it's friday, i might get dressed and go outside today. I don't know i would hate to sleep on this and show it in the morning. I'M not going to stay up and let it dry for the sake of that i never use like a diffuser or blow dryer or anything on my hair, not for no reason by the time. I finish doing my hair. I don't feel like it like to be done with this is like cut the lights off cut the camera off. Leave your bathroom like this till in the morning. No, but i just never use a diffuser on my hair. Everything. That'S not dry, yet will dry anything. That'S not super defined, i don't care effortless type of look. If you will i'm trying to get on my tip toes because the light belts are not for each other right now, but y'all get it. We filming that's like obvious now that we use lights. I think by me not making sure that i'm spiraling the top super. Well, it's going to give me some kind of height with it i'll come back when i'm like all dressed and cute. You deserve what you've been missing to come straight out of braids and moisturize, your hair and layer it with products. The way that i just did like get it totally: okay, bye, good morning, it's the next day. Now, that's probably too bright now, uh, let calm a doll i already put on the matching lotion. Gold accessories top is from walmart, so i think i'm gon na fluff my hair as best as i can whoa look at my lashes doing their thing right now. So i can put them on. I don't do anything specific to my hair. When i sleep, i just throw my bundle on and go to sleep whenever we do natural hair on youtube. Y'All suggest different ways for me to tie my hair down, but i find that it kind of messes it up and it makes me have to do more work to maintain the style versus me just preferring to just wake up and fluff it. Some piece is kind of frizzy, but you'll be forever stressing over hair. If you try to make it be super perfect all the time. Oh it's so juicy, my hair, not dry, oh get into it. Okay back you can tell i've been working. My back a little bit since these are in the packaging. Oh, not the battery blanket i'm gon na throw on these little lashes by kiss. If i have to come back and conclude this later, then i will okay really really really fast, because the battery this is the same battery and it's still blinking. So i wanted to just check in show you how my hair, my hair, is currently 11 at night. So yeah, this is how my hair held up. I had a very busy day running around um, helping my little cousin get settled situated in her dorm. I did grab some hair gel while i was out so in the morning when i get ready for church um i'll. Let the camera run and show you about how i plan to like run the gel through my hair. Some of the pieces are just not defined. It was kind of like a mix between kind of raining, a little bit but still kind of like helmet kind of high in memphis today, even though it looks really like frizzy and like a hot mess. No, i don't see how mess my hair looks really good um, but it's just getting realistic to the weather to my day, i'm ready to about the end of the day and they barely hanging on so i'll talk to y'all in the morning. Since it's pretty tedious, i can just show you all a quick little section in the front. I could have prolonged the kind of finger coiled finger, curl type of style, but i decided to go ahead and work, my gel through my hair this way. Instead, this is the gel that i would have used following applying those other products, and this is the outcome of what we would have got. I didn't wash my hair over, but i dampened my hands with warm water as i'm working the gel through my hair and it reactivates all the products that were in my hair.
