Video Overview:

Costco Kirkland Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner vs. Pureology Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner- A Dupe?!

This is a comparison review of the Costco Kirkland Signature Moisture Shampoo and Costco Kirkland Signature Moisture Conditioner vs. the Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Pureology Hydrate Conditioner. I've seen so many comments saying that the Costco shampoo and conditioner is a dupe for the Pureology shampoo and conditioner... so that's what we're putting to the test today. In this video I compare the ingredients, formulation, application, and show my hair before and after using both the Kirkland Shampoo & Conditioner and Pureology Shampoo & Conditioner.

#costco #costcohaul #costcoshopping #pureology #shampoo #conditioner #hair #review

Hey guys welcome back to my channel for today's video. We are going to do a little head-to-head comparison between two shampoo and conditioner sets, because i can't even tell you the number of comments i've received lately telling me that the costco kirkland, moisture, shampoo and conditioner is an exact dupe for the pure algae hydrate, shampoo and Conditioner, so we're going to talk about that in this video people are basically saying that this is pure ology, with kirkland on the label pureology in disguise, so we'll talk about ingredients and how they directly compare formulation how these actually perform on my hair. So i'll show you guys clips of that, as well as what my hair looks like after, using both the kirkland, shampoo and conditioner and the pure algae, shampoo and conditioner. So you can see for yourself if these two are truly dupes or, if that's not really the case. So if you want to hear my thoughts on that you're in the right spot, we'll jump right into that in a second before we do. If you like, hair care content like this and skin care content, don't forget to subscribe to my channel and also make sure to go. Follow me on my instagram and tech talk. My username is the same across all platforms. It'S just abby young and my username is right here for you all right, let's jump into it. Okay, let's talk about shampoo first, so the purology shampoo again is called their hydrate shampoo. It says it's for dry color treated, hair. The one that i have here has nine ounces of product in it and retails for 30. They also have a liter size available, which is how big this is that costs 69. So price point is no joke, definitely not an affordable brand, but you guys know i'm a huge fan of some pureology products and definitely think it's worth the price specifically their strength. Care, shampoo and conditioner is my personal favorite. It'S definitely one of my all-time favorite holy grail, shampoo and conditioner sets love that so much i'll link that below, if you guys, are interested as well as a video where i review it expensive, but worth it. In my opinion, i actually did used to use this set and we'll get into it, but it just isn't the best for my hair type and my scalp. So i repurchased just to refresh my memory and also, of course, to show you side by side. But i used to use this bad boy. The kirkland signature shampoo, is called their moisture shampoo. It claims to be a professional salon formula. It says it's for healthier, softer, shinier, looking hair, this one again has one liter of product in it and costs 11.99 price points are not even comparable here, not even in the same ballpark, so affordable, so just nowhere even close to pureology. So right off the bat where i would say these two really compare is that both of these claim to be sulfate, free and paraben, free and also 100 vegan, so they're supposed to be free from animal products and testing, which is amazing, and both of these also Claim to be safe for color treated hair, but the biggest difference there is that pure algae has a patented complex, called their anti-fade complex that they use in all of their products to really help to preserve your hair color. This one doesn't make any claims about that, but they do say on their website that it's supposed to just improve the overall vibrancy of your hair and be safe for color treated hair. So both of these say that they're going to help to hydrate and nourish, i get it there's a lot of similar claims. Here i mean they're, even both freaking purple. So let's talk about ingredients. Now i'm going to step over to the side here like i have a little display board and show you the ingredients side by side so that you guys can actually see what i'm talking about as we talk through this. So as we just look at it high level - yes, there's definitely quite a bit of overlap. Are the labels exactly the same? No, when we take a look at the cleansing agents, they do have a lot in common they're. Definitely not exactly the same, but i would say both of them have a focus on general milder cleansing agents versus cleansing agents that are really going to deeply clean the hair. So that can be really nice if you're someone with a dry sensitive, irritated scalp. If you have a lot of flakiness going on, because these will not overly strip the hair or dry out the hair scalp, which can be awesome, however, if you're someone with a really oily scalp, maybe you are an infrequent hair washer like myself, and you really need Something to remove that product build up. These shampoos are probably not going to cut it for you, because there's nothing in them to really do that. But of course, we'll actually look at performance after we talk about ingredients and then aside from that, as we start to look at other ingredient, highlights it's kind of the same stories with the cleansing agents where there is a lot in common. But at the same time, they're definitely not exactly the same. The pure algae shampoo has some great ingredients in it for the hair that you won't find in the kirkland shampoo and vice versa. Let'S read through some of those ingredients that both of these have first and then we'll talk about where they differ, so they both have sunflower seed, oil, green tea, extract, aloe, vitamin c vitamin e and then, aside from the cleansing agents, similar forms of fragrance and thickeners And preservatives actually so definitely a lot of similarities there, but where these differ, starting off with a pure algae shampoo is that this has glycerin sunflower seed, extract and then actually some different plant-based proteins and ingredients like wheat, protein, wheat amino acids and soy protein. So in general those are going to help to hydrate and condition and also when it comes to the plant-based proteins. Those can be really helpful at adding some volume to the hair, which i definitely need, and then the last thing that stood out to me about this shampoo that is not in the kirkland shampoo, is actually salicylic acid. So i'm sure a lot of you guys are familiar with that ingredient from a skincare lens. It'S an exfoliant. When it comes to hair care. It still is going to act as a gentle exfoliant. It can also be a preservative in products, but i like to see it in shampoos like this, that don't really have much in the proper deep cleanse department, because it could help to just enhance that cleansing process. Obviously i don't know how much salicylic acid is in here, but something that i was like okay makes me feel better about the cleansing ability of this and then for the kirkland shampoo. Well, it doesn't i swear. This thing is just dripping non-stop. Okay for the kirkland shampoo, while it doesn't have those ingredients, it does have panthenol to help to hydrate and protect phospholipids, which will replenish and smooth and then a lot of actually plant-based extracts, which i believe is what they call their moisture nutrient complex with their pure Natural extracts like avocado fruit, extract, cucumber extract and goji berry extract, so in general, all of those are really going to help to hydrate the hair. So i would say i'll step back over here. The biggest difference between these two is that the pure algae shampoo has more going on in the conditioning and protecting department. This has more going on in the hydration department, but both have really nice ingredient labels. Are they exact dupes for one another based off the labels? No they're definitely not exactly the same, but i do want to give a shout out to this. The ingredient label here really impresses me and i definitely wasn't expecting to see that at such a low price point. Arguably one of the best ingredient labels that i've seen from an affordable shampoo. So i really like that about it and while they're not exactly the same as far as the ingredients, we still have to talk about the formulation. So, let's do that so when it comes to the kirkland shampoo, i would classify this as a liquidy shampoo. That, i would say, is medium as far as thickness goes. It'S not the lightest white shampoo ever, but it's still a little bit more liquidy, we'll call it medium thickness and it actually gets really really nice and bubbly, which was kind of surprising. Given the fact that it's sulfate free oftentimes sulfates are what create those bubbles and lather no sulfates in this, but it still gets very bubbly, which i always like in a shampoo, because i find it's just easier to make sure that it's evenly spreading all over. My entire scalp and that i'm not missing you, know sections of my hair shampoos that don't lather at all are so tricky for me to use. So i really liked that about this. As i was using it, i didn't have any major complaints, it didn't feel, stripping or drying or irritating, or anything like that. It felt nice in my hair and rinsed out great. I feel like there's not a ton to say about it, but i was very pleasantly surprised by this formulation when it comes to pureology this. It'S definitely not an identical dupe for the kirkland shampoo. These are not the same formulations. This one is definitely thicker and more dense. So on the front of this bottle, it says it has a concentrated formula and that's exactly what i would say about this formulation. It'S concentrated. It gets much more lathery it just it feels more heavy duty, but not in a bad way, if that makes any sense. So while this one does not bubble up like the kirkland one does because it gets so lathery, i find that it's also very easy to spread throughout my hair, and i really like that process as well. I actually prefer the smell of this. This has that minty menthol scent that i really don't like in hair care, so i really wish it didn't have that smell going on. I just i don't love that. I think this one smells better, but when it comes down to it as far as performance, i would say that they both do a pretty good job of cleansing. My hair. However, they definitely don't give me the cleanse that i need to go an entire week before my next wash. So when i use products like this, i always feel that i have to shampoo my hair much sooner days sooner than i would normally, and i've talked to you guys about that before how, in general, i avoid products like this specifically when it comes to shampoo. That say that they're going to hydrate and add moisture and that they're for dry hair, because that typically means that my hair is going to start looking greasy within a couple days and that i will need dry shampoo, pretty much right away. Which is the case with both of these? For me i would say within the first one to two days after washing, i feel a need for dry shampoo and normally i don't need dry shampoo until around day four, sometimes even day five. So that's the downside to this, but again, if you have a really dry, scalp or really dry hair, i think you'll really really enjoy these between the two. Do i have a favorite? Do i think one is better? I do prefer the pure algae shampoo. I have to say that dense formulation, that super concentrated formulation is something that you will not often find in affordable shampoos, and when you look at these two formulations side by side, it makes sense to me that this one is more affordable like i can just visually See the difference, this is much more common as far as a drugstore or affordable. Shampoo formulation goes, whereas this formulation, that's really nice and concentrated, is something that typically comes at a higher price point, because they just typically perform better. At least they do on my hair. So i do like this better. I do feel like i get a better cleanse with this than i do with this, but at the same time i still did really enjoy this, and i do actually think this is a really good shampoo that totally just blew my expectations out of the water. Honestly. For affordable shampoos, so if you just don't have this, you know in your budget go for this honestly. I think it's good side. Note now that i'm saying this, i saw some comments that said that these are starting to come off the shelf at costco and that they're going to be replacing it with something else. I don't know if they're just repackaging or renaming, i'm really curious. If you guys want me to do a video on that, whenever they come out with that and compare it to this, i definitely can let me know, but i just got these offline where they are still available right now. So that's the shampoo now for the condition. It'S been a while, since we had a nice drop now for the conditioner, the pure algae conditioner is just called hydrate as well also says: it's for dry color, treated, hair, nine, fluid ounces of product and this one, but this one retails for 32 dollars and their Leader costs 71., the kirkland conditioner. Why is this cheaper? That is the first time i've ever seen a conditioner cost less than a shampoo. This is their moisture conditioner. It has the same callouts as the shampoo professional salon formula, healthier softer shinier, looking hair, a moisture nutrient complex one liter of product 9.49 interesting in general. I would say these both have really similar claims as well saying that they're color safe that they're going to deeply hydrate nourish the hair, help to soften the hair, a lot of similarities here too. So, let's stop to the side again and talk about ingredients high level. Here just looking at the ingredients, these definitely have a lot less in common than the shampoos do. So when i pulled up the shampoo ingredient labels and really looked side by side, i was like okay yeah. I can totally see why people would say that these are similar potential dupes, not so much with the conditioner. We do have some overlap still so conditioning and moisturizing ingredients, different forms of silicones like dimethicone ammo dimethicone, like with the shampoos and then other things like sunflower, seed, oil, shea butter, sunflower, seed, extract and green tea ingredients that they do not have in common starting off. With pure ology include soybean oil, vitamin e jojoba seed butter again has soy protein and wheat amino acids and vitamin c and then with the kirkland conditioner. This has a lot of the same highlights actually as that shampoo, so they're little nutrient complex, like the goji, berry, aloe, cucumber and avocado, and then this also has haha, bastards and glycerin. So again, both of these have really great ingredients in them, but again they are definitely not identical. So, let's take a look at formulation here for the kirkland conditioner. Why is that such a tongue twister kirkland conditioner for the costco conditioner, that's easier to say this? Has a nice formulation, i would say kind of similar to the shampoo. It'S medium as far as thickness goes for a conditioner, not too lightweight to where it's not going to moisturize the hair. But it's also not super thick and heavy, and i actually really liked using this one as well easy to spread throughout the hair. No major complaints - i will say after using it, i felt like my hair - did - need a little bit more hydration just toward the ends. That could just be because i didn't focus enough on the ends of my hair and i didn't add enough product. So maybe, if you're using this one use a little bit more than you normally would, if you need some extra hydration on your ends, but otherwise i did enjoy it and then same kind of thing goes with the pure algae conditioner, where it's definitely thicker and definitely Much more dense, and this just it has a way of coating, the hair strand. That'S really really nice that this kirkland conditioner, just it doesn't have that kind of effect on the hair. So, while i like this, i still prefer the pure algae formulation. This definitely leaves my hair feeling more deeply conditioned and moisturized, and i just i like this one better. It feels nicer in my personal opinion, but i still think this is a pretty dang good conditioner for that price point and same kind of thing here. If this isn't an option for you, freaking go for this one. I put that shampoo on a chair next to me and it is leaking all over the chair, so that pump is clearly faulty, so really quickly to wrap this up. I want to show you guys what my hair looked like after using both of these sets and honestly, i don't really think there's that much if any of a noticeable difference, especially just looking on camera like this, i don't really feel like you're going to be able To see that much different between the two for just me and my own hands and feeling my hair, i do like the way that my hair felt better with the pureology set as well. It just. It felt nicer a little bit softer a little bit more hydrated, but again was there a drastic difference. I wouldn't say so so final thoughts on this pureology versus costco debate. I definitely don't agree that kirkland is just pureology in disguise. I think, hopefully, after watching this video looking at the ingredients looking at the formulation, we could all agree on that. These are not identical products, and that's not what's going on here, but do they offer similar benefits? Yes, i would absolutely agree with that. They both are really great at adding moisture and hydration to the hair, making my hair feel nice and soft and smooth, and i really do like both. So while i cannot agree with the phenomenon that these are the same products. I can agree with the fact that they both do really similar things and that, if you can't go for pureology, the kirkland solution is a really good alternative to that. So those are my final thoughts. I'M really curious to hear you guys have to say about this. Have you tried either of these? Have you tried both? Do you have the same thoughts as i do? Were you going to try one after hearing about this, if you're interested in trying either of these products i'll link them in my description box below if the kirkland set is still available by the time that i upload this, and i will link some of my other Haircare favorites and hair care related videos in the description box below as well. Doesn’t Matter: I’ve been a stylist for 17 years and have always recommended Kirkland Hydrate for clients who just won’t/can’t spend on salon products. I know who uses it because I know the smell and it delivery beautiful, healthy and happy hair always. By far the best store bought option.

Anna Maria: I actually love the Kirkland better. The peppermint smell in the Pureology shampoo drove me crazy. It was really expensive too. The Kirkland makes my hair beautiful. And what a savings! You can pretty much depend on anything that is Kirkland and I wouldn't be surprised if the Kirkland shampoo and conditioner were made by the same place as Pureology. Or if not there, somewhere else that makes name brand product.

Rachel Lorensen: I honestly love the Kirkland ones! My hair feels amazing and since I’m a broke college student, these have been such an affordable life saver! Especially living somewhere where it’s so cold and dry this time of year!

Brie B: Many ( not all) of Kirkland products are made in the same factory, so same product with different label. Additionally, Costco goes above and beyond to ensure the Kirkland brand is the same or better than the name brand. They’ll even take it back if you don’t like it. I love Costco and buy all their Kirkland products.

Crystal Sturycz: I totally disagree! But totally appreciate this video! I love Costco as well, so no hate, but I’ve used this, and Pureology is hands down better. I have yet to find a shampoo that tops it. I do appreciate affordable, but I’d buy like 20 of these at Costco if they were the same . I hate how expensive Pureology is, but it is good stuff! With that being said, the Kirkland brand is not bad..just not my fav

Jen Smith: I fell to the hype of TikTok claims and bought the Costco brand hoping to save money over Pureology, and was immediately able to identify they were NOT the same. It’s okay, and now I feel like I have to finish these huge bottles before getting something else, even though they were cheap. Thank you for going through the ingredient lists and explaining the scientific difference! Love your videos ❤️❤️

chinnychinchin: I used to love and use the Costco version. Then all of a sudden it started making my scalp itchy. Also, my scalp got oily faster. Recently I purchased the Purology Hydrate travel set and I’d say they’re nothing alike and I much prefer the Purology.

abbeyishappy: More Costco beauty reviews please! They are such large quantities, it's a drag if you buy it and then hate it. I made the mistake of buying the Pantene essential oils shampoo and conditioner. It's the worst and now I'm stuck with it for like 6 months or more.

Wendy Namisnik: For drugstore, the Suave Professional Avocado and Olive Oil Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner were an UNBELIEVABLE surprise in terms of leaving my hair way softer than other brands I've tried. Really. You should try those.

Juan Jaime: Costco reformulated this shampoo earlier this month. Interested to see if you can compare the new shampoo with the one you have in this video

Shana B. D.: Please do more dupe videos like this!!! Super helpful on a budget!

RejoiceRevival_Kim: I like the costco conditioner better than the shampoo but I've been using it awhile with no problems. The shampoo is a good base shampoo but I rotate my shampoos to avoid oily scalps.

La Original: Pureology is my favorite hair line. I use the nano works gold shampoo and conditioner and I only buy the liter bottles and it is well worth it. One liter bottle of pureology shampoo last me at least a year to a year and a half because it’s concentrated. So it’s well worth the money when you think of how long it last and the ingredients are good. The smell and color of the nano works gold line is amazing. It makes my hair soft and the shine is amazing. My hair has so much body.

Mosbey's Custom Creations: I only use Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner as well as their leave in. When you spend really good money for your hair, you have to invest in the aftercare. One of the very best things about Pureology products is a very little goes a long way. I get my hair dyed every 6 weeks in reds and purples so if I were to use any old department store crap shampoo and conditioner, it would strip it in a week. I completely stand by Pureology products 150%!

Jewel Denile: After I got a sample from my stylist for the Pureology I was hooked. It really is one of 2 products that I actually felt made my hair feel better. Great review.

Jamie S.: I love pureology, but wish they would go gluten free. Kirkland is certified GF and we don’t get any reactions from it in our house. Thanks for the video. Lots of info!

Christian Reynaga: Yay! finally now we know the truth. I actually tried Kirkland before, then I switched over to pureology. I personally prefer pureology.

Morgan Veller: I used Purology Hydrate for about 2 years and switched for a little while to something else. When I decided I wanted to go back I wasn’t super excited about spending $60 on a set of shampoo and conditioner so I found the Kirkland dupes and bought those with high hopes. I can without a doubt say the Kirkland set is the WORST product I have ever put on my head. My hair would feel nice when I was washing it but when I gout out of the shower to style my hair would get so dry little pieces would just start snapping off! The two are just not comparable at all in any way. Please just spend the extra money, your hair will thank you

Shelby: Also, the new formulation is on the shelves again and the shampoo is the same but the conditioner is definitely different it’s 10x thicker than the old formula. Could you please review the new ones??

Sara Pesci: I’m obsessed with the pureology hydrate! Especially the peppermint scent in the conditioner. Shampoo twice! Especially if you are going several days between washes. It will sud up WAY more when you wash the second time. Leaving your hair really really clean!

Rebekah W: Definitely not the same. I bought the Kirkland before ever trying Pureology and knowing how great it is. I hated the Kirkland. Didn’t even finish them. Used it a few times and tossed it. And I’ve been using Pureology for a few months, it is not even in the same league. I love Costco and Kirkland products, but no it does not compare even a little bit to Pureology.

Chris S: Yay, great review. I use kirkland brand now since im broke ,lost my job due to covid last year. Kirkland does its job if you are on a budget. If you can afford pureology ,great. Thats just my opinion.

Heidi Fritz: I scored the liter set of Pureology on an amazing sale (more than 60% off) 3 and 1/2 years ago and am just finally running out. It's a bit too pricey for me to replace so am contemplating the Costco brand. I would definitely prefer Pureology. And now I'm intrigued by what you use on your hair if you are washing once a week. I typically wash twice a week, but once a week -while keeping it looking nice-would be even better. And, yes, if Costco changes the formulation, that would be an interesting comparison video.

Debbie Herbert: Hi Abbey! So is the Kirland shampoo and conditioner free of proteins? If so, that's a plus in my book! I have low porosity hair that is protein sensitive. Loved this video!

Isaias Sossa: i have both shampoos and conditioners. The pureology when i used it it made me shed wayyyyy more than the costco one. I dont know why! I only used the pureology twice and both time my hair shed too much! i guess its just not for me! Im going to stick to the costco one till i find a shampoo that works for me.

Katie Davis: I have spent so much money trying to find something cheaper than Pureology but have to keep going back because it is the only thing that works with my hair. But with that said, for the costco price I might just have to give it a shot for fun.

Leslie Deeg: Hi Abbey! I saw that Costco reformulated their shampoo and conditioner a couple months ago. Would you be willing to take a look and let us know your thoughts on the new formulation? Thanks!

Jrodr 916: I was using Pantene and my hair had dandruff because of how dry the shampoo was leaving me. I switched back to the Kirkland hydrating shampoo and conditioner and there is no more dandruff. My hair smells good. I love it!

Sonia Astacio: Your review on these two shampoos was very in depth and informative. I know this is a random request, but can you do a review on you opinion on the best Olive Oil in the market?

Candy Stephenson: When you showed the hair comparison, the second washing (at 14:20) definitely looks silkier and healthier than the first one (at 14:18) did.

Erin Beattie: I just wanted to give a shout out and say that you. I am from Australia and had never heard of pureology until I watched your video on the strength cure and olaplex. I decided to give the pureology a go and have never looked back......it's amazing! My hair has never felt better

Tracy: I never had any good luck with dupes. Especially cheap foundation dupes for more luxury brands. Most foundation dupes don’t translate on my more mature skin. I’m in my 50s so with certain dupes I look for peer reviews. Anyway I never tried purology. I made a decision with the Ulta sale to try redken all soft set instead of the pureology hydrate set. All soft is good but next time I’ll give pureology ago. Thank you

Jean Bowers: I would love to see the comparison between Redken and Pureology I’ve used both and like both. I would like your opinion though and comparison Of the ingredients

Has23Love: It may be a dupe but there's other things you need to pay more attention to such as ingredients. There's lawsuits that are being made against Treseme shampoos that are causing hair loss due to DmDm and it's also masked under fragrances. As well as dimethicone-based shampoos/conditioners they prevent hair from receiving moisture causing dry brittle ends as well as hair loss. Please be aware of this and always look up ingredients in what you use

Johanna Inga: I have just started using pureology and it's the best conditioner and shampoo I have used. I have used salon and drugstore and they just don't measure up. My hair is soft and shiny and sleek. Pureology is expensive which is my on complaint but also a little goes a long way.

Kylei Hammond: Do you use a dry shampoo to keep your hair from getting greasy when you don’t wash it? If so, what do you use?

Jennifer Andres: I really like the Kirkland shampoo, but I’m not crazy about the conditioner. The Pureology conditioner is way better. I buy a liter when it goes on sale for Black Friday and my daughter and I both use it and it lasts for a year so it’s really not as expensive as you think. You only need a tiny amount.

Ruby Reid: I'm definitely stocking up! I love this Kirkland shampoo and conditioner! I have long healthy hair,no damage it makes my hair so soft and healthy and smells good,I'm sad to see it go,its Awesome

Chelsea Marsolais: Dang, I recently just started dying my hair! I'm 32 and I have crazy thick hair! Hairdressers tell me I have enough hair for five people! .... I just started having a hair care routine with pureology But after watching this to save money I think I'm going to get Kirkland's shampoo but stick to pureology conditioner! And after pureology multitask after spray

Erin Lee: Thanks for doing this one! I think I'm gonna stick with my Kirkland since it more affordable and put my money into masks and other treatments instead... a little scared of possible refoemulation!

Shelby: The Kirkland one smells EXACTLY like the pureology gold nano works one and that one is like $150 for a liter I think it’s more of a dupe for that one vs the hydrate one

Aqua CrimeFighter: Subscribed. Just found your videos about 30 minutes ago and have clicked through a few. I’ve been dying to find a YouTuber that breaks down ingredients, rather than just saying the typical “soo it’s a dewy finish”, “this oxidizes a lot”, or “wow, this smells good!” (‍♀️ cause fragrance is GREAT for your skin)... then I found a foundation video. Now this one. I’m just really impressed. You’re the real deal. I have no doubt you’ll grow your subscribers by a landslide.

shawn170204: For your Canadian viewers Kirkland Shampoo sold in Costco in Canada is supposedly a dupe for Marc Anthony Shampoo. It is not the same at the USA Costco Kirkland shampoo. Not sure if it’s good I have not yet tried it

Giovanna Colarusso: I can see a difference in your hair between Kirkland & Pureology. Your hair looked more softer & hydrated with the Pureology rather than the Kirkland.

Lily Eichelis: i feel like with hair care, you really do pay for the better quality ingredients

Michelle M: Newly subscribed to your channel. Loving all of your content! So far I’ve purchased a microfiber towel, olaplex products, new scrunchies and a new wet brush pro brush. thank you!

Not Another Diet 88: I really enjoyed this video. I’ve heard so many people say they are the same and I appreciate your in-depth review

mimilol93: Great video thanks for taking the time to explain. Have you ever thought of reviewing the Kerastase products? :)

Daily Orange Pill: Kirkland brands are great and affordable.

Hilary Neblett: Thanks for the breakdown. I might get this kirkland product for my 11-yr old daughter to use in her shower. She has super thick, long wavy hair and I think she'd do better with the less concentrated, more lathery kirkland shampoo than the more concentrated pureology product. It's been hard for her to get all of her hair clean; whether it's bc she's a kid and she's still learning and/or bc the sulfate free formulas are less lathery and it's harder for her to tell when she's missed part of her hair. Plus, for the price difference, she can lather rinse repeat until she gets the job done with the kirkland shampoo and i won't literally be washing $$$ down the drain. TY

Lauren Petro: Last night I used the Pureology Hydrate Sheer Shampoo after my Olaplex #3. Been thinking about trying that in place of Biolage Color Last. I couldn't use the Conditioner as it was my secong wash for me to use K-18, thank goodness for payments cause it's pricey. I don't care for the smell of the Shampoo. The lingering smell also and I'm not sure if the Conditioner smell makes it better after use. I alternate between Redken All Soft and Biolage Color Last but will wait on the Pureology Hydrate Sheer to be able to use both but and see about the smell. My next try was going to be Amika Kure but I'm trying not to over spend all over as I'm working on my skincare too. I also got diagnosed with a mild case of Seborrheic Dermatitis yesterday as ever since I got back from my parent's in Florida at the end of September my scalp has been dry and flaky. It's been better since then but I thought it initially was just dry scalp from our weather. The prescribed Shampoo I hated and now there's some foam he has prescribed me.

Anne Beauchamp: Please do a video of whatever Costco carries next!

Bernard: Using and love the Kirkland for years!!!

S. R.: FYI..Pureology 8.5 oz for 16.99 is sold at Marshalls and Tjmaxx great video

Cindy Olson: After your recommendation on pureology strength cure shampoo and conditioner. I'm hooked. My hair along with olaplex #3 is amazing.

Kelly Bechthold: This rumor has been going on for years. Anyone who has ever actually compared the two would never say the Kirkland is a dupe

selket88: Literally have the hydrate set in my Ulta cart, because I just used my Kirkland last night, and a sample Pureology the wash prior. These are nothing alike. Totally different experience. The Pureology is incredible.

Patricia Bonifaz: Whatever you recommend I'll use it because it definitely works!!

KyongJa1: -Watching and I see that she is a makeup goddess and everything is Perfect and then realize GOTDANG she's naturally Stunning as well @7:56 *crying in art tears*

LNGG's Channel: This is great. I am a Costco fan. I use other Costco shampoos and conditioners.

Patsy Johnson: I think the coconut weighs my hair down . They carry a Hydrate purelogy sheet for fine hair have you ever used it

Alicia Perkins: Question for you: When did you last purchase the Costco Shampoo and Conditioner? My store doesnt seem to carry it anymore and it's not available online. I am worried they discontinued it :(

Thomas Saba: My mom uses Pureology and I use Kirkland so this feels like a personal competition for me

DebD: I haven’t used pureology. I tried Costco twice and never again-it dried my hair out.

Alexandria Miles: So they are NOT dupes for each other. Now you don't have to watch this whole video to get the answer. Peace out

Miranda Shaver: Please do a new video with the new Kirkland formula!! I saw it at Costco today and am so curious!!

Camille Galang: Needed this video thanks! Since you mentioned this isn't great for someone that washes their hair often, what's a good shampoo for someone that does wash their hair often?

Ashton Saffa: Got it, splurge on the conditioner and save with Kirkland shampoo. Thank you!

Ciara Wetherell: I just bought and recently returned that Kirkland shampoo. It made my hair so greasy, and never felt clean. ‍♀️

Jess B: Wow! I’m surprised that Kirkland has a shampoo like that even if it’s not as good as pureology

Loraine Mcgillivray: Hi Abbey, shampoos are more expensive to manufacture than conditioners re the price of the Kirkland products fyi. Ingredients like hydrolysed proteins are more expensive than some of the extracts in the Kirkland as well. I haven't used either formulation, as I have very thick/dry/curly/long hair, which isn't the hair type for either of these. I need super moisturising products and use a deep conditioner every wash, as that is what my hair needs. Sulphate free gentle shampoos are my preference, although I do use a clarifying shampoo every few washes and leave on a deep conditioner for an hour. As long as the shampoo is gentle then you could save a few dollars/pounds, as it's on the hair for such a short period of time. Buying a conditioner with better ingredients can be a good investment, as it is the treatment portion of the routine (similar to a serum in skincare). Overall I think it depends on budget, how many times a week you'll use it and the amount used per wash. A really expensive hair brand that only lasts a month, is not sustainable for most of us re cost. It also depends on how your hair behaves and if it needs the extra benefits included in the more expensive formulation to look good. I'll be curious to read the comments of others who have used both, especially if they include their hair type/condition. Best wishes.

Megan Adams: I'm new here, and to your channel! I love your videos thus far. Were both blonde, so im definitely in tune with you, and your reccomdations.

Hey It's Dom!: What shampoo do you recommend so I don’t have to wash my hair as much? Thanks!

A A: That was ME Dear that told you that! I’m a stylist and have used Pureology for years. It definitely is a dupe.

d Milord: great video and i appriciate your honesty. I think i will pick it up at Costco and add this in with my blue Pureology. sorta use it to stretch my expensive brand. and yes, can you do a video if they have pulled them or wht the new one is?

Mel P.: I have not used the Pureology personally, other than when it was used in salons I went to. I do use the Kirkland brands though and have recommended to several friends, including hairdressers, who have all since switched to Kirkland. I can't tell you now many compliments I get on how soft my hair is with the Kirkland. And the price? You can't beat it. I am blonde as well. Let me just warn you, because no one warned me...lol. I was a natural golden blonde with straight hair all of my life...until I turned about 35. That is when the darkening set it. When I hit 40-ish, my once straight hair started to curl. I am now 51 with "dirty" blonde hair that frizzes and will curl like Shirley Temple's (if you know who that is, lol) if I do not straighten it. So...I hope what happened to me is not the absolute norm but it has been awful to see my hair get so much darker and now curlier. :-) Btw...I would love for you to do a review when Costco's "new" shampoo and conditioner comes out. I was panicking around Christmas when I was looking for the products and they were out pretty much everywhere. One Costco employee did say they are probably just repackaging but he was not positive that was the case but he did not think they were discontinuing it altogether.

C: Abby I’m new to your chanel and your hair videos have helped me SO much!!! I was wondering if you would do a brand review of a brand called Virtue. They use a patented type of keratin and I would love to hear your thoughts on it!! Thank you!

Melly: I bought and tried the purology shampoo/conditioner today. Specifically with the conditioner, is it supposed to give a cooling sensation that lasts for awhile even after its washed out? Ive never had a conditioner do that so i wasnt sure if it was a chemical reaction or something. It was relaxing at first then became kind of uncomfortable.

Kat: This makes me so sad because my hair is a mess right now and I feel like I just won’t be able to afford to fix it!

Michelle UK: Which pureology is better for bleached blonde highlights please? I've been looking at the strengthen shampoo and hydrate. Thanks x

Bob Stein: Not me RUNNING to show this video to my mom. she LOVES her Costco shampoo and says it’s her purology

Rachel Ruiz: Really appreciate videos like this. Thank you!

Ervin's Movie Corner: Great job, Abbey!❤️

Maryna L: Actually I'm just about to buy the Pureology shampoo and conditioner from Sephora after I tried them as samples, but I just want to make sure before buying the shampoo, it's not a purple shampoo right? I really don't want my blonde to become any lighter so I was scared to leave it on longer Lol please let me know

Kae-Toya Lee: Abbey I think the Creme of Nature argan oil line is a great affordable line of hair care. If you would like to review, it's sold on amazon.

Inspired to soar: I like the shampoo but the conditioner didn’t work very well for me

Leanne Adams: Wow I just bought Pureology for the first time today and was wondering about it and then found this vid ! Awesome! Thanks

Georgia Birch: I’d love an updated video on favourite haircare including masks, oils etc xx

Aly K: Do they have a dupe for the strength cure??

Michaela Wernerová: Not on the subject of the video, but can we just appreciate how beautiful she is?

Ryan Kilgore: Just bought the Kirkland brand over the weekend! Tik tok made me buy it lol

Jacee Greaser: I love Olaplex and Pureology shampoo and conditioner but are there any affordable shampoo and conditioners that you recommend for someone on a budget?

Ms. T: They do the same thing the substitute in the ingredients will not really affect the result. Ask any chemist to compare the labels, they changed a couple of the ingredients but they react and do the same exact thing this is a minor substitute & clearly made by the same manufacturer with the slight substitution to not make it obvious.

Az lah: Would the Costco one work for keratin treated hair?

Amanda Lee: So what shampoo are you using to go 1 week between washes. I don't like to wash my hair more than 2x a week, but I also get oily hair after a few days.

TheDreamymy: What do you think about sillicones in shampoos? I dont use conditioner on my scalp....but shampoo is for my scalp, but i dont like the idea of sillicones in the Pureology strength shampoo staying on my scalp....And does the sillicones in the strength line block the good ingredients in my leave-in en let it stay on top of the sillicone film? I want to try that strength line but i am not sure....amodimethicone is not water soluble as well. Need your advice.

suptick: Hey, I’m absolutely in love with you but have a question In which order should I apply my skincare products, I have foaming facial cleanser, eye repair cream and moisturising lotion they all from CeraVe

Taylor Love: Pureology has silicones and other ingredients that are harmful for your hair and health. I recommend Evolvh its a organic vegan haircare line the shampoo and conditioner is a liter 33 fluid ounces for $100 each but you can buy their duos for $160 so you save money...

Katie Bell: Do you prefer the Pureology Hydrate or the Pureology Strength Cure? I have dryness but also damage from a balayage. Thanks!
