Hi guys, it's me, your girl, shahira aka afroglory and in today's video i'm gon na be doing wash day because it's time to wash my hair her yeah. So today, i'm going to be using the brand new lush afro hair care range. You guys probably have seen the hype around it. I'M so excited like my hair is definitely definitely in need of some love right now, um, it feels very dry. The products that we have here are glory, which is this one? It'S a conditioner. We have power, which is this one. This is also conditioned i'm going to use glory, because this is what i've been using and also afro glory. Afroglory afro glory yeah. I absolutely love this. I you know, as you can see, finger finger max. I'Ve already been using it and it smells incredible um. I am then going to use these three products which i'll talk you through as i'm using them. So we have renee shea souffle. We have curl power and we have super milk, so this is so. I can do the lock method um, i might switch it up. I don't know we'll see we'll see, i'm also going to be washing my hair with the avocado co-wash, washing hair wash co-wash, but that's already in the bathroom. So i can't show you, because i'm gon na go, do that now, so i'll be back in two seconds with wet hair that has been washed to tell you all about the comb wash give me a sec, i'm back! That was quick right for you, quick for you just to reiterate so yeah. As you can see, my hair is literally dripping wet um and, as you can see here, it's not fully detangled yet. But this is my natural curl pattern when my hair is wet. So you can tell your hair type best when it's wet because it takes on its like natural curl pattern. So you can see here and like here, but then at the back. I have a different um curl texture see. If i can show you um. The curls are a little bit looser at the back and then right in the middle here. I'Ve got like my 4c, really like tight curls here so yeah afro hair is amazing and wonderful and consistently surprising me continual surprises. So i brought my co-wash up to show you the bit that i used. I left in the bathroom, but basically it's this green kind of product here ignore my nails, we're in a lock down, allow it allow it. So this is what the co-wash looks like. This is the avocado co-wash, which i have to say, felt really really nice. Honestly, it smells incredible um, it smells. I think it's not stronger as a product than it does in my hair, like i can't smell that same smell like on my head right now, so i don't think it's as sweet when you've used it so for anyone who's concerned about like it being too fragrant. Don'T worry honey, they got you i'm just going to detangle my hair now and i'm probably going to go over to a voice over. So i can concentrate on doing my hair for you and then just talk you through what i'm doing show you products textures blah blah blah so yeah. Obviously, we don't want this to be a 45 minute video, but i mean if you're into that we can arrange for a 45 minute afro hair video, because, like it's 10 a.m or something ridiculous, what time is it 10? No, oh, i dropped a palette. Okay. I lied it's actually 10 to 12., so yeah, i'm gon na do my hair now and hopefully i'll be done by 1 130 if we're lucky yeah moving over to voiceover now, ah the wonders of technology, so my hair is super wet and i am showing you The products i'll be using, so this is glory. It is a glorious conditioner, as suggested by the name, and the texture of it is like this, as you can see a few strands of my hair, because i've been using it already, it's a very lightweight super creamy conditioner, which also makes it ideal for spreading it Through your hair and making sure it covers every strand, next up is power, which is a conditioner. As you can see, the texture is very similar to glory. I won't be using this in this video, but i'll talk a little bit more about it at the end. So you can find out which one is better for you diving straight into super milk, as you can see on the packaging, it now says loc, which stands for lock method, we'll dive into that a little bit later, um. What i really love about this nozzle is the spritz is really wide, which means it can be evenly distributed across your hair when you're using it. And if you look at the formula, it's super light super creamy super milky, which is amazing. Next up, we have renee's shay souffle, which is um, not one of lush's new products but um a very, very much a staple in natural hair uh in my natural hair routine. So this is a the oil which is in the o in the lock method and it's a solid to oil formula as you can see in the tub, it's very solid, but once you warm it up in your fingertips or palms ready to apply to your hair, You get this really really nice light thin oil um perfect for sealing in all that moisture. Next, we have curl power, which is a hair cream and the final step in the lock method. This formula is super creamy, as suggested in the name, and i feel like it's going to be a really nice lightweight formula product to spread through your hair. It'S not going to weigh it down um, which is what we love and it smells amazing so quickly. Moving back over to speaking to the camera, um loc is a recommended natural hair method. It'S liquid oil cream and you can mix that up based on your hair type. So today i'm going to mix it up, i'm not going to do the loc method, i'm going to do l c o, which is liquid cream oil, because i have high porosity hair. So, let's get into this quickly high porosity hair. Imagine every hair follicle is like this: it means that liquid can go in really easy, but it can also leave really easy moisture. Sorry, not liquid moisture can get in really easy, but leave really easy. So when you use a liquid and an air cream and those can penetrate their hair follicles, so it goes into my hair strand and then, when i use the oil it seals all of that moisture in so it cannot escape quickly. So that is why i'm mixing it up and doing the lco and using oil last to seal all of the liquid and cream in. If you have low porosity hair, your pores on your hair are smaller, which means it's really hard to get moisture in. But once it's in there it's in there honey. So when you've got low, porosity hair, you kind of want to do more steaming and more like heated treatments, because that opens up the follicles a little bit more so that it can absorb moisture. And then you want to seal that all in with oil and then maybe put a cream on top, so lock method isn't for everyone, maybe check out which method's going to work best for your hair type. But for me today, with this range, i'm gon na try lco cool back to voiceover. So what i'm doing? First, as i said, my hair's not detangled, yet so i'm gon na detangle it i'm gon na start by splitting my hair into four sections. I like to just do one big like uneven parting down the middle clip on one side and then split the other half into two, so that i have two smaller sections to work with. First, my hair was super wet, so i just put a towel around me quickly. So annoying dripping everywhere - and i have these amazing hair grips they're, really good for afro hair. They don't pull or tug, and i have no issues with them. So, starting with super milk, which is the first step in the lco method that i'm going to be doing today, this is a conditioning hair, primer, um as part of the new lush hair range. Look at that spritz. As i said, the spritz is amazing because it's so wide, i feel like it evenly distributes around all of my hair, so yeah we'd love to see that i'm just gon na like run that through my hair and then brush that through to detangle, always starting with The ends especially if you have curly hair or afro hair - and you don't want to be pulling knots because you can snap your hair quite easily. As you can see, my hair is super soft and super detangled. I am absolutely loving super milk. So next up we have curl power. That'S this one! It'S a hair cream and i'm going to be using this as my second step in the lco method. It'S a super super creamy formula as it suggests on the packaging and what i'm doing is just rubbing that between my hands. So it's evenly distributed all over my palms and then using what is known as the prayer method. To make sure that every strand of hair is covered when putting it into my hair, so i find that the prayer method works really well for me, but i also like to just um kind of finger detangle as well and make sure the product is evenly spread Through my hair and take a look at this growth, my hair is really thriving at the moment. I'M not a um length, checker or measurer, but yeah. I just want to point that out and also look how detangled my hair is looking after using these products. So next, i'm going in with renee's shay souffle, which is the last step in the lco method. So this is the oil that i'll be using and it is a solid and what i do is i put it in the palm of my hand and warm it up when i do that it becomes clear, which means it's ready to be applied to my hair. Again, using the prayer method just to evenly distribute that, through my hair and slowing down when i get to the tips and just to kind of make sure the oldest hair, which is the end of your hair, has been covered and also look at these curls that I'Ve discovered my hair is popping um to me. That'S a sign that my hair is really really enjoying these products as well. When i see my curls really coming through, and i mean this is probably one of the easiest wash days, i've had in a long time. My hair is definitely enjoying these products. Now, what i'm going to do now that i've finished? That section is just put that into a flat twist um, and that will just help be how my hair is. While it's drying, i tend to air dry, my hair. I don't really use a lot of heat so i'll just twist that all the way down um nothing fancy and then i will continue and do the rest of my hair in the exact same methods that i've just shown. You guys right. I finished that is my hair actually done. Obviously it's not styled. Um styling products is another video, it's another video honey, but basically that is how i use this range and my thoughts and feelings and emotions on this range. So, let's get into it. Let'S talk about the range this one amazing, i don't need to say much about this, so this is a conditioner. Don'T settle for media okra because it contains okra see what they did. There love a good pun, so i used this when my hair was wet and i used it to help me detangle, my hair. It works a tree. I'Ve also been using it before i wash my hair, just to kind of like get a feel for the product and obviously just because it was called gloria is instantly attached. Love love love the smell of this. Next, we have power which i'm not going to say much on, because i haven't actually used this one yet just to kind of swatch and like put a little bit in my hair. So i haven't really got a feel for this product yet, but i would say if you are more into kind of like neutral smells from lush, then you will enjoy this product see. I think this one smells a lot more earthy and um, just like not as sweet as the other ones. So i guess from what i'm reading the difference between these two is that this one is definitely more for someone who's like unnatural all the time - and i guess this one is a bit more support for anyone who likes to blow dry their hair more, who uses Straighteners, who you know, introduces heat into their hair routine. I have no heat damage because i'm very careful with my hair, because obviously years of relaxing have taught me not to mess with the fro you know. So i just kind of think this one is the better one for me, but i will give this a go. If you guys want to see me review it. Let me know, because i can do a blowout and use this and let you guys know how it feels after and before so next i used these three products and on the packaging it says lock method but, as i told you guys, i did leaving oil leave-in Conditioner oil, so lco method, so i went in first with this. This was the super milk um really really love this product. It'S really light which i love. I feel like when you have a lot of products in your hair as you've seen i've put four different products in my hair. After wash day like. If your hair doesn't like the weight of products, then it will get dirty real, quick or just feel really heavy, and your curls won't bounce like the way they used to or the way they should so yeah. This is a really good lightweight conditioning liquid for your hair, so on the packaging. They'Re, basically saying that this is a really good thing to revive your curls mid, like in between wash days, i really like the size of this as well. You could put this in your bag and easily have it like in your overnight bag or um, just on the go, because winter winter is wild, winter does not like afro-air. So it's good to have something like this, that you can rely on and also the spritz on this and when it sprays out it really like spreads so you're, not getting like a concentrated kind of like you're. Getting more of it, i mean i'm a genius with noises too, really love this highly recommend, and then i went in next with curl power, which is this one. Really, nice cream, really creamy kind of product again smells quite um. This is like a really weird mix between sweet and earthy, really nice. This contains a lot of oils and because it contains oils, it will also seal in any moisture that you put in, which is why i guess the lock method can still work, because it contains oils. So loc c will, with this cream, lock your hair in because it contains the oils um. I do really like this product. I do, however, think that once i've had used glory, i don't think i need to introduce a cream, but i think if you want a specific routine, that's locked, i would definitely recommend the three of these together. I think if you're looking for extra hydration, then maybe go for glory instead of um going for curl power, but yeah, definitely as part of the three loc method or lcr method. I highly recommend this yeah, i'm not offended by it. It'S lovely. It feels great again. Another lightweight cream, i feel like um, sarah from lush is really smashed they're, like really nailed to the kind of consistency and weight of these products for afro hair, because i find a lot of over-the-counter products. I say over the counter, because this feels elite um over-the-counter, like things that you can just get in boots or like super drug. I feel like a lot of them are very weighted products um, and i really struggle to actually find stuff over the counter that works for my hair so very impressed. Next, we have renee's shay souffle, so this has a really cute little back story, and so sarah who designed the new afro haircare range at lush, her sister, is called renee and when she was younger, renee would um. You know make little pots of shea butter for the family and that would be everyone's like hair care. So obviously, when she developed this, she named it after her sister and i think that's really cute. It'S just a little sweet story um. So this isn't actually new. In the range it, i guess it's just been re why the po po always coming for me like that, so this isn't actually new in the range. This has just been repackaged, i guess - and maybe reformulated i'm not entirely sure actually but um definitely repackaged with to say the lock method here, um, i'm i'm very, very happy with um lush. At the moment. This whole collection, like means a lot to the natural hair community, because i know that lush are very conscious of their ingredients and the environment, and i guess that just gives natural hair care people myself included naturalistas and the option of going for a brand that you Know puts sustainability at the forefront of their ethos and what they do. So it just feels nice to know that i can get my hair products and also you know, support something that i also morally ethically believe in but yeah. I just think it's really important and special that this range is here and that it was designed by a black woman for black hair. Like that's important, that's important so yeah well done lush, for you know doing that and welding sarah for designing this entire collection, because i'm i'm really here for it i'm here, for it stop it. So this is renee shea souffle, and this is a hair and scalp oil. So, as you can see, it is a solid, but once you warm this up in your hand, it becomes an oil which i really like. It means that i'm not you know gon na. I'M not worried about spilling this anywhere um. I really like that. It also smells so good. This is for hair and scalp. Personally, i don't like to put anything on my scalp, because the way the afro hair grows up, i feel like all the products i've used. Will naturally travel down my curls onto my scalp um? If i'm going to use anything on my scalp, it's probably just going to be water, maybe a little bit of conditioner like glory just to kind of keep my scalp hydrated and happy. But i don't tend to use oils because i find i've got a really sensitive. Scalp and they block my hair follicles and then i get the itch and then i get the flake and it's not cute. But if i was going to put an oil on my scalp, i would try this. So let me know if you guys want to see like maybe a week apart, applying this to my hair, my scalp and then how it feels in a week's time. And obviously, if you guys just follow me on instagram, you will see what this magical do turns out, like i'm just going to leave it to air dry today, i've got something to do in a few hours. So if it's not fully dry, i'm going to give it a little bit of help with a cool setting on my hair, dryer um but yeah stay tuned, and thank you guys so much for watching huge shout out to lush for gifting me all these amazing products. I have really really enjoyed my wash day today and yeah. I smell incredible. I can't wait to be that person on the street wafting the smell of lush down into everyone's nostrils and well everyone. I say everyone's gon na be wearing masks and we're in a lockdown. So i don't know where i think i'm going, but anyway thank you guys so much for watching and i hope you enjoyed this video. I hope you learned something. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments section and yeah make sure you give me a follow. I'M cute and thank you. Bye.

Love this review. I found a million curly hair reviews but not very many coily hair reviews. Appreciate this video so much!
