It's so GOOD to be back!! I've missed you guys so much! This video was inspired by all the traveling I did last month! There were a lot of events, so I had to be prepared for any natural hair disasters I might come across! I've made some mistakes along the way, but I learned some great tips on how to organize my luggage and what to pack for my natural hair, as well as how to wear my hair to the airport! I hope this helps you pack for your next vacation or big event!

You you Hey, you are a star me. I can be alone. Can we what's up guys? I have the biggest smile on my face. It'S been probably like three weeks, which is crazy, since I've posted a video. In fact, I think that's the longest. I'Ve probably ever gone. I had the amazing opportunity to travel for this month of March, which was just insane I'm sad that it's over, but I'm also happy it's over, because it was crazy guys. It was insane and it's been three weeks I went from LA to Atlanta and then all the way to Paris, France, which was just eat, like the most amazing experience ever. I did film some videos, but I just did not have time to edit them, and I just I couldn't do a legit had no time. In fact, I was opposed to go to a pentatonix concert and I couldn't even make that concert, because I just didn't have any time which really sucks. That was my Christmas present, but besides that it was all worth it. I had so much fun. Actually, while I was traveling, I was inspired to make this video and, like I said, I have other videos filmed, but I really wanted to get this one out first, and that is how to travel with natural hair through all of these experiences, I'm kind of learning What like what I need to pack um and how I need to get my hair ready. I travelled with my hair, but it used to be a lot easier without the color, because I would just put a twist out and be done with it. But my twist don'ts are not reliable anymore because of my hair color, which I'm growing out, and so now I have to, I guess, style, my hair, but prepare for the worst and preparing for the worst means making sure that I have everything in my suitcase to Fix the worst, if it happened so whatever I'm traveling, I want to try and do as much at home to my hair as possible. I'Ve gone to the airport with twists in my hair in a beanie cap, which is ideal. Lately, I've been going with just my hair in a stretched curlformer that was set the night before and then it'll be nice and fresh, and then, when I get to my destination I can style it. However, I want I've also traveled in bantu knots, which is not ideal, because if you go through tsa, you got ta take off your hat, and that is not a good look. No, that is not a good luck. One time I had been two knots. I went through TSA pre in the United States. It'S basically where, like you, don't have to do a lot of the regular screening. I don't take off my shoes, I don't take off my hat. I don't take out Michael, I don't think of anything like. I was like what I just like walked through and I have bantu knots under my hat and might my hat legit I'm not even why my hat was like this there's like little things poking out everywhere and I'm just like really it's just gon na. Let me through like this like this is the one time where, if TSA wanted to touch my hair or take off my hat or whatever I would have totally understood like, I could have been hiding knives under there. It was like poking up everywhere. You know I mean look like they're weapons under there like that Banting. That was serious. I was shocked. I was like I just watched through like okay, but it was great because I really didn't want to take off my hat cuz. I would have been really embarrassing, but I also just had to side-eye TSA, for that, like I didn't feel safe, because that could have been weapons situation like I could have mad weapons up in there. You know so those are all the ways that I like to travel and I just tried to do the most that I can beforehand before I get on that plane. So I want to give you two scenarios. One scenario is that you know it's just like a day trip or a couple of days or whatever, then I'll, just try and stuff everything into a small carry-on bag. In that case, you still want to make sure that you have your hair products. You can't pack full size containers on a carry-on. They only allow a very small amount and then the second scenario is: if you have to pack a lot of stuff and you do have to check a bag, you can fit a lot more in there and you can be a lot more prepares. We I want to talk about the carry ons first, I like to have my little travel container case. It doesn't have to be clear, it's easier to get through TSA, if you just pack it in one of these like little clear airplane bags, and I get a lot of my bags and containers from the Container Store, which is the actual name of the store where It has like a bunch of containers, they can even go to like Target or Walmart or whatever, so, whatever style I'm wearing. I want to bring supporting products with me, and so again I try to be as minimal as possible. It was a lot easier before because I would only do twist outs, but now, I'm doing twist outs, washing clothes, flexi rod sets doing a little bit of everything with this hair is trying to really figure out, which is my favorite style. If you follow me on instagram you've seen like a bunch of different things going on there, I'm just trying out everything. So nowadays I have to pack a lot more than I used to. I just like to either check my large container in my suitcase or just fill up these little containers, with whatever I have at home. You'Re really only allowed to have three ounce container of product, but obviously that's not enough for our hair and not for me anyway. So I actually go with the four ounce container and I've never gotten stopped with these. It'S not like they're measuring they're, really just looking for a small container, so try to get the largest container. You can that looks small and they'll. Let you through with that. So it's got my typical carry-on. Of course, I have my shea butter cream and I used to be all I would path was just shea butter, and that was it because, if I needed to touch-up a twist out whatever I just use the water from the sink at the hotel and then just Do my shea butter and a satin cap - and I was good, but now things have changed, I might want to do a wash and gos. I have my conditioner of choice. I also like to bring a little flexi gel and, of course, my sealing oil that I use for not only my hair but also my body and then, of course, I have to have an edge control. So, like I said I like to pack it all in a water-resistant, clear plastic case um, which you know will protect my clothes and all that, but I don't trust this fully, so I like to double bag it. So I like to just put each product in its own individual bag that way, if it explodes, then the other products aren't affected by it. I'Ll just put my plastic case into my carry-on along with my satin scarf for bed. I have been known to either bring a pack of curlformers with me or, if I'm doing a flexi rod set I'll just toss the KO farmers out of this pack and put flexi rods in here instead and that'll. Go into my carry-on as well, and then because you never know what situation you're going to find yourself in, you might end up having more time or less time, and I always seem to have to rush when I'm traveling, for whatever reasons. So I always like to make sure that I have my flexible hooded dryer. You guys have seen me use it before on other videos. You know just put it over your head and over your rollers. It has this little opening at the end that hooks onto a blow-dryer. So I like to bring this and then I also like to pack a blow-dryer and then I'm good to go and that's everything that I bring in my carry-on. It just kind of keeps me safe, it gives me options and, yes, you can bring a blow-dryer in a carry-on bag. I'Ve done it multiple times, and that is totally fine. Okay. So if you find that you have to check a bag, that's actually a great opportunity to bring any full-size products that you need. For example, I mean I don't need to bring a full-size product of any styling cream or whatever like shea butter. I don't need a full-size container of that, but I might need a full-size container of conditioner depending on how long I'm staying in my destination. If I'm going swimming a lot and I'm gon na need to wash my hair more and once I'm probably gon na need a full-size container, because I do a lot of co washing again, you can go to the Container Store grab one of these plastic cases. You can get as small or as large as you want, but I like to keep all of my hair products and hair tools in their own separate cases in my suitcase just to keep everything organized. So it's not all falling around throughout the suitcase and mixing in with my clothes and all that kind of stuff so get as many as these plastic containers as you need, and I like to group them into hair tools and then styling products. These are actually really great because they fit all of my full-size products, not that I bring them all, but it's great to have that space. Just for this video, I'm showing you that I fit a full-size container, my conditioner also some hair Sheen in here, and I again I like to double bag everything with freezer bags, just so that if one of them does explode its self-contained and doesn't get into my Other hair products, some other things I like to bring with me - are hair clips, make sure you have hair clips. I like to bring at least three I like to bring a plastic cap just in case I'm doing a washing go, and I want to preserve it. For the next day, if I find myself in a deep conditioning rut, you never know put some more edge control in here, just to show that it fits large containers. Now this is my little kind of nasty looking plastic bag. This is actually a makeup bag. These are basically all my supporting characters, so I have my bobby pins in here. My little ribbon ties. You know any type of little hair clips that I might find myself needing. All of that goes into my little paint container, and that goes right into my hair product bag as well, so just follow up with any other hair products that you want, and you put that into your suitcase and then I also of course, pack, my blow-dryer and Again, my hooded dryer goes in there if I am checking a bag that I take the opportunity for all that space and I bring my diffuser because if I'm doing a wash and goes just a lot easier, if I have my diffuser as well as the air Nozzle to get that perfect, washing go that you're looking to get. That was something that I do not bring onto my carry-on because I'm not sure that it will make it through TSA, honestly, a curling wand. It looks a little dangerous, so I've never tried to bring it with me. But if you do have a checked bag then use the opportunity to pack it it's just really great to have in a clutch. Recently I went to Paris and I didn't have a lot of time. I had a slight emergency the night before the event, so I didn't have time to do my hair, which is kind of ridiculous, so I know doing a quick, bantu knot and I didn't really like how it came out the next morning. So I really wish that I had this curling wand just to like kind of make some pieces more defined and I could would have been more comfortable wearing it out, but I didn't have it, and so I just wore it back. So it's just nice to have a curling wand in the clutch in case you are doing a Karl former set or a flexi rod set or a bantu knot, and it doesn't come out the way that you want, and obviously this is for, if you're like going To a special event or somewhere where your hair, it needs to look a certain way. Yeah I mean, if I'm just going on vacation with my family, that I probably wouldn't be bringing the curling wand and iCarly wouldn't care to bring the blow-dryer or the hooded cap. I would probably just bring my little hair products and be okay with that, but in the case where you are going somewhere, special or good curling one, because it's always a good clutch and for any hairstyle that you're doing so put that in your bag as well. So let me think anything else make sure here is styled as much as possible how to pack your carry-on how to pack your checked bag is make sure you have your clutch players, your clutch hair tools, your clutch hair products. So I hope this helps. You know what to pack and how to pack, if you plan on traveling with your natural hair, it can be as simple or as complicated as you want. Don'T make the mistakes that I've made in the past? You don't want to have crazy, hairstyle pictures floating on the internet that you can never take away and again, like I said, I only do all this if I'm going to like hair events, if I'm just going with family, it's just my little carry-on bag with, like Some gel and some shea butter and I'm good to go, but I'm happy to be back and I missed you guys and enough rambling. I will see you in the next one, so good to be back guys if you missed my last video click. The link to the left to see my DIY hot oil treatment and if you want to see some clips from my travel over the last couple of weeks, click the link to the right to be transferred to my almost daily vlog channel. Brielle Cruz: You have got to be the ONLY hair vlogger who makes videos that are USEFUL in the real world (work hairstyles, graduation and natural hair, traveling w/ natural hair, etc). It definitely sets you apart from the rest. Thanks for this video Nap!!

Naptural85: ENJOY these useful tips I picked up while traveling this past month! NEW Video is Up! #NaturalHair <3 Traveling With Natural Hair Xo! <3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU2HgZ1qtoU

_JessicaCopeland_: Hey girl ! You may not remember, but when u came to Atlanta, u met a client of mine. You complimented her crochet braids & even assumed it was her natural hair haha... I just wanted to say hi & thank you soooo much for complimenting my work !! When she told me i was legit freaking out & it was so cool knowing that somebody I watch all the time actually liked MY hairstyling work, it was just surreal to me lol. You look gorgeous btw !! :D

Naptural85: It's so GOOD to be back!!

Sava: I love your intros so much! Your sharp editing skills always have me drooling in admiration... Okay, maybe I don't drool, but I'm like, wow, Miss Whitney can really get it!

BubzLife Starlight: Such beautiful hair. You're such a inspiration and the reason I went natural. Your videos gave me strength :)

Naptural85: Edit: If you have a carry-on and know for sure you'll need to use conditioner, pack 2 or 3 of those 4oz bottles... I usually just check my full-size conditioner if I know I'll need to use it, and only put a container in my carry-on "for emergencies." Xo! <3

Alleé Keene: This video came just in time! I'm traveling to Miami soon and I was freaking out about whether I should get a protective style or not, because I really didn't want to, but I also didn't want to check my bag. I never knew there was a size limit, I thought I just couldn't bring those products in a carry-on at all (I don't fly often lol). So happy you made this video, it helped so much!

trianna2008: First, I just have to say I absolutely love how this wash and go worked for you. Bangs are your best friend lol! And just a quick tip for avoiding spillage a la pinterest: rather than double bagging each product, stretch a bit of plastic wrap over the rim and then cap/cover. That way you won't waste bags/literally NO possibility of spilling =]

OneVon: Great to see you back, Whitney! Thanks for the tips. My problem when traveling for one or two nights, let alone when I travel abroad is that I need a whole suitcase for toiletries, hair products, etc. I've been trying to 'downsize things' and some of your good travel tips got me wanting to add a few things! Yikes!!!

Enjoli Correa: Go girl! I'm so proud of u and so happy u got to do all that traveling. It's so enriching to the sprit thanks for these helpful tips too woot woot

Stacy Hicks: We missed you Whitney!  I was so excited when I got the notification that your new videos were up!!  Thank you for taking the time to produce excellent videos for us!!  xoxo

Lotus Power: Hi Queen, thanks for being such an inspiration. Since watching your videos I have become more inspired/empowered and have been embracing my naturalness Can you share with us if you experience fairy knots and what you do to combat them? Stay beautiful!

Megan Deans: Hey Whitney, I've been watching your hair/vlog videos for over a year now and I absolutely love you and your family I've been transitioning for 2 1/2 years and I just recently cut the little bit of straight hair at the ends and I've realize that I have a similar texture hair as yours ☺️ I know this was probably pointless but I'm just excited to re-watch a lot of videos and try new things because I'm fully natural now

Chioni Ramsey: This was sooo useful! I'm getting prepared to go on a business trio and was thinking "what about my hair stuff?!" So, super good tips!! Thanks, as usual, Whitney! Glad you're back!

Kyra Jewel: Love this video, Whitney. Glad to see you're back! I just big chopped my hair after 10 months of transitioning and I was practically drooling over your hair the entire video. I can't wait until mine gets that long <3

Tiffany W: I've decided to long term transition back to my natural hair. I love your videos. Keep up the good work! Love the styles and tips.

NaturallyMo: Thank you for the tips! I am definitely going to keep this in my when I do some traveling soon!! Hope you had tons of fun in LA ATL & Paris :-)

NikkiNikkiNikki: Yay! This is perfect. I'm going to Ecuador for two months this summer and I really wanted information on how to have natural hair while traveling. This couldn't have come at a better time! :)

osakasweetie19: I absolutely LOVE the ombré effect your highlights are adding to your hair! Thanks for the tips and glad to have you back!

HairNerd27: Love your hair like this! I just recently went natural and never considered the logistics of travel...great tips...thank you : -)

Monica Cooper: Happy to see you back Whitney, missed you and the family. Love all of your videos and vlogs. :)

PinkLemon: I know this vid is old but I hope you or anyone traveling will be able to use this travel hack: cut up little squares of plastic bag and put them over the bottle opening and then screw the top on. For extra protection I put some tape over the lid. Did this for all my liquids, especially my oils with applicator tops. It works, and definitely kept me from worrying about them.

Bella Donna: Welcome Back!! and thanks so much for the travel tips because I have natural hair as well and I'm travelling in  2 weeks and didn't know how much hair products I should pack in my carry-on and suitcase so thank you, thank you this is a MAJOR help. Love you and your videos are amazing also you're really funny too Enjoy your day :):)

Naturalle Drea: Thank you so much for this!! I'll be traveling soon and this will help me know what I really need so I don't overpack lol!!

NappyHaitian19: I LOVE THIS! I travel weekly for my business this is so helpful

missycp09: Your hair is EVERYTHING in this video! Lol TSA has let me through with the curling rod before but I have held up the line because they open the bag to check what it is. If u want to be safe, just put it on top where they can easily get to it. I was really looking forward to you vlogging the Pentatonix concert! I couldn't get tix, so I was going to live thru you! Haha

cps525i: AWESOME tips! I am knewly natural and will be doing some traveling for business soon, so this really helps!

ElleBelle: YES!!! I've been waiting on a video like this. Traveling with natural hair can be a hassle sometimes.

Davida Singleton: Miss you man!!! It's so refreshing to see you wear your hair out. Your hair is beautiful and so is your personality! I'm so happy to see you traveling more and marketing your self! You practically started this natural hair care community. You're awesome!!

Lindsey Burnside: I love your hair here! The color looks so nice with your skin, especially as it gets warmer out!

CopperColoredLifestyle94: I took a two week to Ethiopia and only took a brush! Horrible idea. Thanks! Will definitely use these tips!

TheRose217: I'm sooooo glad you're back! Great tips for travel!

RaenaJenks: so glad you're back, and I love the way your color is growing out! Your vision is now coming alive! lol

Latrice1123: You and your hair looks absolutely gorgeous!! I love the way you dress. Could you do a outfit of the day one day? Thanks!

ymb6987: Yessss!  Welcome Back t this channel Whitney LOL!  Refreshing and informative as always - these are great tips and definite add-ons to what I currently do for traveling!!

Honey Jones: Looking at all of the hair stuff you pack, I throw some box braids in my hair and call it a day when I travel LOL. That way I don't have to worry about additional hair stuff. Even when I was relaxed, I threw braids in. Since you had to do a hair show, it made sense to have that stuff because people would be expecting your hair to be out.

Eat The Plant: Thanks for tips whitney! Your hair looks amazing in this video! to save some room in your packing, call the hotel and ask if they have blowdryers in the rooms! Most hotels now a days do!

SHANDA R: Your hair looks awesome, and I think it looks even better with the color growing out. The color makes your curls pop.

LBellatrix: This is coming right on time as I'll be traveling quite a bit over the next 6 months or so (including Paris...so excited!). One thing re overseas travel is to check for voltage conversions and pack appropriate appliances or a converter. Also I agree with being prepared for the worst esp. if you're traveling for business. Now I'm going to check out your Paris video... :)

ndia.porter: I travel a lot of work (consulting), this is so helpful! Happy to have you back Whit!! :)

umkish y: So helpful, especially since travel season is coming up!

liveloveGlam: Your hair looks amazing!!! :)

The Zebra Tribe Fam: Your hair looks amazing Whit. I'm the same way when I travel with any type of oil based products or products that can spill. Welcome back!!!

AFRO_Nikki 88: Omg this video couldn't have been timed more perfectly for me I'm leaving for a trip to Miami for spring break by the end of the week and I had no clue what to take because I usually have braids when I'm on vacation

Asia Mitchell: Nice to see you back!! What's your experience with TSA agents searching your hair? I saw recent news that there's a pending law suit against TSA for disproportionally searching Black women's hair (in natural or protective styles). I travel very frequently, and more often than not, my hair is searched by TSA. My hair is very curly with a lot of volume, similar to yours and this has happened when wearing my natural hair down or up. I'm curious to see if this is a wide spread issue.

Naturally Kalen: I love your videos! You are such a sweet and genuine person (I can just tell). Oh and I love that necklace you have on! I think you said it was a gift from someone. I've noticed you've worn it in some of your latest videos it's so versatile! Love love loveee !!

Illustrious2: Great video! Your energy in the video was amazing!

x0Mickey0x: Welcome back Whitney !!! It felt like you were gone forever . Thanks for the great traveling tips

Taylor: Her, Her Outfit, Her Hair, and her attitude are GOALS

blackjade101: So glad you made it home safe!!! Welcome back!!☺️

limalumalumi: I traveled a lot in March too but I just brought a small conditioner and used it to cowash and as a styler. Works pretty well as long as you remember to pack tools/ a scarf

Immaculeta if you nasty: It's good to have you back! You and your hair are looking Ah-Maze-ING!! Also where did you get your tunic shirt if I may ask

AngelicSeduction: Such a beautiful soul! So inspiring! Thank you!

JoiFull1st: Thx for the travel tips Whitney!! Please do a video on your wash n go, it looks great. Also, I believe the TSA has stopped searching black women's hair. It was a whole big thing.

Gems by Dr. Jems: Whitney, I absolutely love you! There's really no other words to describe how I feel... :)

Laquita Clinkscales: Natural85 I wanted to tell you I appreciate all the blogs that you do with the natural hair. I have the same hair pattern as you and you have helped me a lot on how to maintain a nice and heathy hair for the natural. Me and my mom talk about how you are a great example for women who need help with their natural hair and when you explain stuff its very simple and not hard at all your styles be on point and your hair is looking more beautiful and healthy because you use homemade simple stuff that is good for the natural hair. I notice too that when you went to try the products and then you went to homemade I seen a big difference and the difference is that your hair likes natural stuff it flourished from your homemade stuff but with the products it didn't and that showed me something. Keep up the great work at what your doing you are a very hard worker and a great fantastic mother with a great attitude and fun personality and Olivia is very blessed to have such a great mother like you and dad too can't forget felipi as well he is a great father the fact that his father wasn't in his life as much and he wants to be in every step of his daughter life is amazing I wish all dads were like that. Olivia is very smart for her age as she gets older I hope she can look back at all these blogs you guy made and said wow I have too awesome parents who set such positive examples. Much love from Qee

glamazini: Whit that wash and go is looking epic. I've traveled with my longer hair loose maybe once :-/. Great helpful video.

ebonyd4ever: I was going to comment that this is so much stuff, BUT thinking of when my husband and I travel to visit his family in the A for just a weekend, I definitely take a ton of stuff, too!  Great organization tips!

Candace Bennett: OMG!!! You and your hair are so beautiful girl, Love your videos!

Stylistic Future: Super useful!! Thanks for sharing Whitney!!! You look gorgeous and I love your hair like that!!! I'm assuming it's a wash n go? Idk but whatever it is the curls are popping!! Glad you're back, you were missed

Lucey Monize: Also don't forget to make sure your hair is super moisturized! Sometimes I travel with straight hair or a blow out because my hair gets super dry and brittle, especially from having my head against the seat. Dried out plane hair is the absolute worst!

justanotherleelee: Happy you're back and had a good time. As always another informative and wonderful video. :)  Also, can I just say I already love you, but the minute you mentioned going to a Pentatonix concert, my love for you just doubled.  So sorry you had to missed it. :( But again, glad your back. :D

Naturally Lisa B.: I'm so glad you're back!!!  I wish I could wear a wash and go but my curl pattern is all over the place - a perfect coil here, a nearly straight strand there.  Just can't do it. :(

Maya Barnes: My question is, how do you keep your hair looking nice if you're on a busy trip!? Haha. My hair is always nice the first day or two, and after that it's annoying to stay up extra late to retwist or do a braidout and it probably not be dry when you wake up. Meanwhile, the folks you traveled with are like LET'S GO! My hair always ends up looking shot on trips.

Ryan: You are so great! Literally anything I could think of needing help with you have a vid for and things I would have never even thought of to! ily <3

GrownWoman0804: I'm glad you did this video because when I was traveling to Thailand for a month last year there were not any natural hair videos to give me ideas of what to take. Luckily I over packed hair stuff and it went well but there were no videos like this. Helpful video.

Edith Spencer: For those doing the hostelling thing in Europe(especially in the summer): protective styling is your friend! Style your twists AND set a neat bantu knot- You can wear the twists for a couple of days, then let your hair out for another couple of days and so on. Now, if you are in France- remember that Paris is the headquarters for a lot of brands, including L'Oreal, which just bought controlling interest in Carol's Daughter. You can get AMAZEBALLS brands right there in Paris for very little money. In some cases you can get the same stuff there that you can find here. So don' worry about running out of product.

Ericka Lachea: First and foremost: You are absolutely gorgeous! I am just starting out on my natural hair journey and I'm completely clueless to how I need to start managing my hair. It's kinda pathetic. Do you have any advice? Or a video?

Phoenix Butterfly: Love your natural curl pattern!

Mary Strong: i think i'm gonna just stick to having my hair braided when I travel lol. This is too much

Shavonn Smiles :): THAAAANNNKKSS so much! This was a great video especially for me I am a over packer and rently in my travels my luggage was lost for 4days and I had to buy new substitute products! It was a mess of a situation.. I know better now! Also where did you get the hood for your hand dryer? I really appreciated this video!

NyanXiaoKitten: Thanks for the advice! I might be traveling in June by bus and I was wondering how I should do my hair for those two weeks xD

AHairAngel: You are looking gorgeous while being adventurous. Wonderful tips and styles.

Shortcake39553: Your hair and color is way more amazing now than it was before. Please tell us what's different. WOW!BANGING GIRL!

Erika Kay: Hi Whitney! Your hair looks amazing :)!

jazmine brown: I hope you read this... But I'm 17 and I've been natural all my life. I always keep my hair straight, not because I want to but because I've never really knew what to do with my natural hair. I've tried twist outs in so many ways and they never work, but I tried the one you did when your hair was much shorter in one of your earlier videos where you twist and grab hair so you don't have to separate as much. It was kind of like a flat twist but not really lol. Well I did that and... I FINALLY GOT IT! I found the twist out that works for me, and I'm going to try to wear my hair natural more often. I just wanted to say thank you !!! I love your videos and your hair I hope mine can be like your done day !!

BeaunaturelleFeb11: Very helpful video Whitney. Thank you. Just one question. How were you able to take Flaxseed gel with you? Doesn't that need to be refrigerated? Or did you put something special in it to preserve it?

FavNap2801: Wish this video was available before going to Disney. It was a real struggled. My natural hair reacted badly. Thanks again very informative as always.

Nina R.: OMG, this video is the best!!! I'm traveling to Europe soon and I've been sort of worrying and obsessing because I was determined to go totally minimalist and not over pack by traveling with only 2 carry-on bags. But then it dawned on me, I'm gonna be gone for 2 whole weeks so I will need to pack more hair products! Meaning my conditioner for co-washing (big Trader Joes Tea Tree conditioner bottle) and my shea moisture leave in, my oils, spritz bottle, large tooth comb, stretchies and bands, rod rollers, I mean the list just keeps growing! So, as much as I want to go to Europe with only 2 carry-ons, I will HAVE to check a bag so I can bring larger bottles for my hair stuff. Not to mention I need to bring shower gel and lotion. Definitely need to check a bag in!! This video is great. I was wondering how other naturals were traveling!! :-)

Jovan Rachel: Your introduction was amazing! I don't travel much but when I do I will definitely re watch this video. What do you mean if it explodes? Thanks for all the tips!

Velicia Williams: You are well traveled and you are a strategic packer. Excellent tips.

galacticvixen: Her hair has grown out and now her highlight look perfect just like she said it would! :D Looking great Whitney!!!

Raw LawGirl: I love The Container Store here in L.A. It is fabulous for traveling and just getting organized. I go there and eye stuff for the life I do not have yet! Girl, you pack a lot of stuff. I did a rode trip to Arizona recently from L.A. and back for three days.I took one small toiletry bag: a comb, scrunchies, toothpaste, toothbrush, spray bottle, jojoba oil (dual purpose) & head rag! Oh, and a fww clothes. LOL. I am a minimalist except in words! All that other stuff is too much. This hairstyle you are wearing in this video is my FAVORITE. The others are cute, I guess, but this style is natural hair at its best!

Terry Lee: Gorgeous! With the highlights on your hair all I can see are the beautiful Aborigines of Australia! Love it!

Thalisa Aragon: This is so late for me, I did a one month trip in Europe a couple of months ago...and the hair took control lol. It was impossible for me to do the carry on, it was so cold and the products ran out fast...I have to say Italian's products did not work on me. Thanks for the video!

julieangel09: Your hair makes me want to stay natural

VidVoyeur: Well, welcome back!  I had said to myself yesterday that I hadn't seen a video from you in a long time.  I know you had fun traveling. I'll have to take a look at your Paris vlog. Your outfit looked great as well as your hair (the intro pic).  If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the light blue sweater/top? Thanks for posting. :-)

Leslie Terry: You look good girl and I’m loving your beautiful hair

Queenie7: This such a great video, thank you for uploading, this was a great help. God bless

BirdsofaFeather: i really love her hair like this. It is my fav so far

wildfyah: I never actually thought about this. Thanks. I don't travel often but this would help when it's time.

Charline Amor Cloete: Wow!!! your hair looks amazing. thank you for making this video. all the way from Cape Town South Africa

Natural Raw Essence: Great video! But, what's so bad about bantu knots? That's a cute hairstyle to rock. No need to be embarrassed as long as it's parted, twisted and rolled neatly.

Kira Renee: your hair looks gorgeous! As Always

KurlyMommy G: I used to pack just like that......not anymore, and hopefully never again. LOL I'd rather have extra shoe options. I always do my hair before I leave and if I need a fall back style, it's always a puff, the puff never fails. If I were traveling to a natural hair event, I could see how all of that may be necessary though. I've been loving your new adventurous hair styles ;)

jay Parker: jeez your extremely beautiful, with an amazing smile and energy

Imgoing far: Now that your hair is growing out, the color looks much better than when you initially got it done. I think when you grow out your natural hair a little more and cut off a little more color the look will look epic!

S.T.: hey Whitney!!! I recently traveled from Minneapolis to the LAX airport this March, and had a curling wand in my checked bag. It is ok to have one, for future reference.

Vanessa Buiey: Love you Whitney as a curly girl myself another tool is that go to beenie or hat you have to pack at least one I know I do +naptural85
