The products hey there guys welcome back to my channel. My name is courtney and i love playing around with tips and tricks from the curly girl method to improve the health of my hair. Yes, i know my hair is wavy, and that is what we're doing today. I'M going to show you my first impressions on a full drugstore wash day lineup on my fine low, porosity, wavy hair. This is day three hair. We are big. We are frizzy and we're even a little bit dry. My hair very rarely gets dry, but it is in need of some love, some tlc. So why don't we run into my bathroom and transform this into clean, washed and beautiful hair, but before we do that, i would love it if you would subscribe and click that notification bell. We have a whole lot of fun over here on this channel, trying out curly girl, approved products and figuring out which product combos application techniques, styling methods work best and in general, wavy curly, hair science. So i would love it if you'd stick around for some more videos. Also, if you like this all drugstore wash day, lineup idea, please give this video a thumbs up and share it. It lets me know that this video was actually helpful to you, which is why i'm here, i thought it would be a whole lot of fun today to use all products that you could run out today and pick up in store that are also under ten dollars. All right now, let's go ahead and run into my bathroom, so i went to the store yesterday and had way too much fun. I haven't browsed the hair care section at the grocery store in a long time just me, so i did have a whole lot of fun. Picking out the wash day lineup we have the garnier fructis hydrating treatment, shampoo, the garnier fructis hydrating, treat conditioner and from a quick read over the ingredients labels. I didn't see anything that looked suspect so fingers crossed. I didn't make a rookie mistake and pick up. Non-Curly girl approved products, then we're going in with the cantu curl activating cream. As the leave-in step for my gel, i am going to be playing around with the new formula of the aussie instant freeze, gel they reformulated quite a while back, and i haven't ever played around with the new formula. So we're doing that today and for a little bit of extra vava volume, the herbal essence totally twisted curl, boosting mousse. This shampoo is nice and clear which theoretically i'm gon na, like i tend to like my shampoos, clear. It did foam up really nicely and it has kind of a light sort of scent. It reminds me a whole lot of garnier fructis, like that, is what i'm smelling: it's not really they're classic fragrance, but goodness i have no idea what this smells like. It kind of smells soft and sweet. It'S not too strong. I'M really taking my time here and scrubbing my scalp, because it's day three and my hair is very greasy, but i am really just focusing on my scalp. I am not scrubbing the lengths of my hair, then to cleanse the lengths of my hair. I just kind of pull the suds through the shampoo actually feels a little bit slippery. It'S not making my hair super tingly. It'S not! I can't detangle my hair at this point, but i like it like this, isn't a tangly short of shampoo. Now i'm going in with the conditioner i'm going to grab a decent amount and it looks like it's pretty thick, but it's smoothing out fairly easily. It'S not super super thick, it's a little thick, but not crazy, thick going in and really finger detangling, my hair making sure that i'm distributing the conditioner evenly with my fingers. I don't ever detangle with the brush, because then i can't tell which parts of my hair might need more conditioner, some more water, some more conditioner, some more love, but i do like you'll see how this is kind of ready and stringy. I do like to finish distributing the conditioner through my hair, once i've got it finger, detangled and all the conditioner distributed throughout my hair and, as you can see, this brush is just running through my hair. It'S not catching. My hair is not tangled, so i'm not really using the brush to detangle with i'm just using it to finish working the conditioner in, and this conditioner got nice and foamy. You can also see now just how much conditioner i have in my hair and how every strand of hair is now better coated with conditioner wow. My forehead vein is coming to play today. This is a great angle, my most flattering angle. Ever now, i'm going to add just a tiny bit of water to this conditioner and do a really good squish to condition this really allows my hair to soak up the water and conditionery goodness i found when i started really concentrating on this step. My hair became so much more hydrated and i will just kind of stay here and squish this into my hair until i feel my hair start to really absorb the water and conditioner. Sometimes i'll move the hair off the back of my head and really make sure. I'M squishing the back section and the sides of my hair, just not the front and top, not just the front and top there. We go all right now that that is thoroughly squished into my hair. I am going to rinse it out. You could leave it in your hair for a few minutes, while you finished doing all the other bath things, but i'm ready to rinse it out and move on to the next step, all right grabbing the cantu curl activating cream and i'm not going to get much Of this product at all, just getting the smallest little pea-sized amount and dropping it into the tub one moment: oh, my goodness, that is infuriating. At least it was just a little bit. Okay, take two tiny little bit now, i'm going to smooth this out in my hands and this product is much thicker than that conditioner, and you can really feel that when you smooth it into your hands and that's why i don't grab very much at all, i'm Gon na focus it on the ends and then apply it to the rest of my hair. This is really very similar to the rinse out conditioner step kind of process. I can finger detangle it through my hair and then i will go ahead and brush it through to make sure that i have really really really good, even distribution. Then there's another trick that i do. I take my brush and i really push the hair away from my face while trying not to drop the brush and what this is going to do is it's going to help me part, my hair, when i flip right side up i've also gotten in the habit Of really pulling hair off the sides of my face and off the back of my head, this is when i start really organizing my curl clumps, making sure everything is kind of doing what i want it to do. I'M just pulling everything off the back of my head right. There all right now same as with the rinse out conditioner, i'm going to add just a little bit of water and do a really good squish to condition making sure the water is like not going just to one spot. On my hair, there we go the more water, that's in your hair when you apply your products, the bigger juicier fatter, your curl clumps are going to be now, i'm going to stand up and shake the hair off the back of my head and i'll be right. Back there we go alright. Now it's time for gel, going in with the aussie instant freeze, and i am taking one teaspoon, maybe slightly more, but not much just about one teaspoon of gel, which really isn't very much, and i'm gon na smooth this out. Being careful not to drop any in the tub, like i did with the cantu curl activator glazing this over then. I part my hair into two sections and gently squeeze the product in and then i start scrunching this product feels slippery. I don't remember exactly how the old formula feels it's been a long time since i've tried it, but this feels slippery. That'S cool, oh, and look at how much shrinkage i'm getting. Those are formed. Really nice get the hair off the back. Your head really reach all the way around get those back back. Curl clips scrunched catch the excess product falling off the back of your hands. Put it back into your hair. I'M gon na move this, so i don't knock it into the tub. Now i'm just giving my hair one good final scrunch to remove any of the excess. Before when i was scrunching. I was not scrunching my hair very hard. I was just kind of swooshing the water and product around in my hair. Now i'm going ahead and giving it kind of a firm squeeze. Now i'm going to top everything off with the mousse i tend to like putting mousse's last mousses or foams last because i feel like they give me better volume and i'm going to try and not get too much. I think i got just the right amount. That'S exciting anyway, i really like putting foams and mousses last because i feel like when i put them underneath a hard hole gel the gel kind of locks them down, and then my hair doesn't have as much volume, but when i put them last, it allows my Hair to have the benefits of the gel plus the benefits of the volume which is kind of what these are for. They'Re, really good, volumizing kind of products really get coat. The ends of my hair and scrunch. I also like scrunching just a little bit of the excess water out of my hair before i apply these because foams and mousses are a whole lot of water, they're actually made up of more water than the other products they're, not as concentrated, i guess so. Taking some of the water out of your hair gives them a little bit more oomph man. My hair is feeling so good right now, all right there we go. That is what the curl clumps are looking like, i'm going to go, plop my hair and then diffuse and then i'll be back all right here i am with my final fully air dried results. I will say i think, next time i'm going to use slightly more product. I don't think i used quite enough of that gel in order to get a good firm cast. When i was diffusing my hair, i could definitely see pieces blowing around in the metaphorical breeze. Actually, it's not so metaphorical, it was the breeze of the diffuser. Anyway, i didn't diffuse my hair for as long as i normally do, because i didn't want to continue to bust up the curl clumps. So i think i diffused for about 15 minutes and then i went ahead and air dried the rest of the way and during that time things kind of got more elongated than than they normally do, but i'm ready to scrunch out the crunch and fluff. So here we go oh wow, my hair feels really soft and good like really good, oh and it smells good. I like the way this smells. I don't know what i think of this all right guys here are the fully scrunched out results. I got ta be honest. This may not be my favorite wash day, but that could 100 percent be my attitude today. Sometimes my attitude keeps me from liking. My hair has that happened to anybody else, comment down below what you think of this wash day. Let me turn around and show you the back all right guys that is it for this video before we go. I want to know what your holy grail drugstore products are. What did y'all think? What are your favorite drugstore products seriously? Let'S help each other out in the comments all right, i hope you're having an absolutely fantastic day, and i will talk to you all later.

Swavy Curly Courtney: Sooo I am dying to know...what is the best wavy or curly hair product you have ever tried from the drugstore???

Erin Anderson: I’m kind of just discovering my waves and I’m really excited to try these techniques. My hair is so inconsistent right now and so much more frizzy than it’s ever been in my life. Let’s do this!

Renee Segovia: You gave me the courage to try the cantu curl activator and revisit Aussie instant freeze. Let me tell you, TOTAL GAME CHANGER!!! My hair hasn’t looked this good in it’s natural state since 8th grade. THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️

Krissy: Off topic but you seem like such a genuinely sweet person and watching this video made me feel super comfortable like we were friends or something. I get super good vibes from you :')

Ginny F.: I LOVE NYM mousse! I can get away with using just this mousse as my styler (after a leave-in) if I reapply halfway through diffusing. Also, it’s glycerin free so that really helps with keeping frizz at bay in this Georgia summer humidity! ❤️

Olivia B: I am so glad you put emphasis on how your hair FELT after you SOTC, because I am a notorious "run my hands through my hair all day long" person, its almost like a nervous tick. And my hair has always been SUPER healthy and silky, and I've tried a few products that made my waves look great but my hair was up in a ponytail an hour into my work day because my hair felt gross! I would rather sacrifice a little definition for my hair to still feel like there's nothing in it!

Cristina Paz: It's funny how drugstore products in the US are considered high end in my country and they are very expensive.

Meredith Culpepper: Hi Courtney! I don’t usually comment on youtube videos but i just HAVE to tell you that you have helped me SO incredibly much on my curly hair journey. I’ve been doing the cgm for almost 9 months now and have seen such an improvement since finding your channel. My curl/wave pattern is very similar to yours and you inspired me to keep going and not give up! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and personal curly hair experience/journey with all of us. You’ve helped me to accept and love the curls that i was fearfully and wonderfully made with! Sending you all the love and may God continue to bless you in all things. Your joy is contagious❤️

Kelsey Bruce: Your videos have been SO helpful for me, a 2a wavy starting the CGM journey! I've been testing a lot of products because I just started but my staple so far is the curl talk gel!!

Dawn E.: I like the elongated look! Very casual and fancy free. I've been watching lots of your videos this week because I'm tired of fighting my natural hair (I think 2B with some 2A and 2C mixed in). I went ahead and got Cantu products and the Suave clarifying shampoo yesterday and used them. I wasn't able to find the glue gel yet, but I did get the shampoo, conditioner, and curl activator. I feel like it was TOO much moisture for my hair?? Even after my hair was dry, the clumps had no volume, stayed together, and felt....dense? It was a little bizarre. I'm wondering if maybe just using less conditioner and/or curl activator next wash day is the answer? Or is using all Cantu just too heavy in moisturizers for white girl hair? I did try the curl activator at a friend's house last weekend after using my regular Dove shampoo/conditioner. That's what sparked my interest in really pursuing the curly girl route...because my hair was amazing! And that was without gel, mousse, or anything to help with the cast! Kinda surprised at the disappointing results after using all Cantu. I watched the 10 things you need to know before starting, and thank you so much for the last two. I have been having a feeling deep down that not fighting my hair (which is great until a drop of humidity hits it) would make life less stressful. I REALLY needed to hear the "give yourself grace / time" bit. I'm only 24 hours in and have said that to myself many times already. LOL

Tabitha Bell: I like the results you got! Definitely more wavy than curly, but your hair looks so shiny and hydrated! My go-to gel is the Aussie Instant Freeze. I've been a "curly girl" for about 16 months and Instant Freeze has been a repurchase since the beginning. Currently experimenting with some NYM Curl Talk products. The Herbal Essences mouse is on my To-Try list.

StephiKarolyi: 2b-2c hair here and I've loved using "Head and Shoulders" 2in1 and finishing with "African Pride - Bouncy Curls Pudding" Mine and my daughter's(fine 2c) hair prefer this combo. The "ORS Olive Oil" line is also very nice but can be a bit heavy for our medium and fine hair. Great for a moisturizing treatment though.

Fátima Chapa: Hi Courtney! So I'm starting my wavy hair journey and so far your videos have been super helpful, I cannot thank you enough!! However, I am an athlete and I have to train twice a day, and I've been trying to coordinate my washes but I'm not having much luck, I feel like I'm just not getting the definition I could get :(( Do you have any suggestions??

Veronica Ivanova: I love this Garnier line. We call it Hair Food in the UK rather than Fructis though. I haven't tried the scent you are using but the banana, watermelon and papaya are really good

isabel hoch: Can you maybe do an updated curly routine? I’d love to see what products you’re currently using, since you test out so many different products!

Savannah Crnick: I'm a wavy girl, type 2a with an oily scalp. I haven't tried leave-in conditioners yet, but I'm interested in trying this on my ends. Also, I never really thought of using a gel until now and I think it might be a good idea to help add some extra hold. If anyone knows of any tips to extend between washes I'd love to know! I've never used dry shampoo but I'm considering it.

Shea: This was one of the best videos I’ve seen so far. Got my hair really wavy. I think the key is like you said, lots of water. Thank you so much for this

Hannah Vought Berman: I just got the Cantu Curl Activating Cream and tried it for the first time today! Still drying, but so far my clumps look good! I think this wash day ended up looking really pretty on you! So shiny and soft looking!

Jessica Davis: I absolutely LOVE these results. I have all the products needed, brb going to go do it myself. Your hair looks beautiful curly and wavy!!

Lauren Kinnari: I LOVE your hair today! It looks so soft and natural!

Diego snowman, Rumble: Hey Courtney. I have followed your routine on my wash days and it has literally saved my fine, wavy hair!! I have been following the CGM for 7 months but lately, my hair was playing up for the past month or so. Not sure if it was the hot weather, or the humidity...not sure. Anyway, I did what you actually do on my last wash, including plopping and diffusing and wow, what a difference!! Thank you!! One question, how do you know the porosity of your hair? Any tips?? My hair seems to love products with protein and aloe Vera.

Rachel K: Courtney, your videos are the best! My hair is similar to yours (loves protein, porous, fine) LA Looks blue gel has never let me down. Also, Curls Blueberry Bliss and KCKT are my favorite leave ins. I have very fine, 2b/c hair that is extremely porous.

Puddle Of Duck: Hair looks really great! I agree that it’s more of a beach/wavy look, and your hair has sprung up a lot more with different products. That being said, they do a good job if you want a more relaxed look.

Linda Whaley: Absolutely beautiful ! So soft looking & healthy. Gonna try this ! Thanks !!!

Janine McMillan: Thank you so much for doing such a definitive video on this. I now have a much better understanding of the process. I’ve never really been one to do much with my hair, rarely do more than wash, condition, comb, and put up in a big clip. It does give me some body in the bottom but now I’m going to give this a whirl. So much healthier than getting perms, and cheaper

sarajosully: Honestly, your day 3 hair looks great to me. You should see my day 1 freshly washed hair. I’m trying my best to figure out this wavy/curly thing. It’s really difficult, and I’m coming to accept that every day will be a bad hair day and I think I will just embrace it. Lol

Brooke Surrett: this is actually my styling routine!! I’m pretty heavy handed w my products and I use a lot more of the cantu and gel and I get a great cast! it feels a little product-y sometimes but that’s when I know I need to clarify :)

PageOrozco: I'm in love with the Cantu line! I use the moisture wash and conditioner and follow it with the leave in conditioner and the curl activator cream you used and their curl mousse, then I spray in their coconut oil shine and hold mist, once my hair is dry I smooth through Hask Argon oil, it's one of the best hair oils I have ever used! It leaves hair so soft and shiny with no greasy residue at all!

Rosemary Phillips: You are seriously THE BEST for doing all of this upside down and being authentic and true :)) Thank you!

Rio Deluca: It came out gorgeous and hydrated looking!! Definitely starting to use the putting gel & mousse in the shower when my hair wet!

Karen Alexamae Allada: Looove the ending when you flaunt your beautiful hair. Can't wait for my curls to be this healthy

Sara Phillips: I have high porosity hair & would not wash my hair if it looked like yours at the beginning of the video. When you said, "It's frizzy!" I thought, "Girl, I'll show you frizzy."

BdeBarbara: I really love your wavy hair when it's not that curly, it's also beautiful

Michele Ann Davis: So glad I watched this. I haven't been STC nearly as well as I should have been AND the gel then mousse trick made a major difference for me!! Yay you! Thanks!!

CobraDove: Whaaaat? How can you not like this look? It is BEAUTIFUL, and looks waaay better than in other videos!! Wow

Frances M: Hi Courtney, your hair is lovely! My curl pattern is very similar to yours though I have way less hair density so only achieve very fine curl clumps. I'm just over two years into the cgm and have only just found a consistent wave/curl pattern. The products I use are: Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus shampoo, Tigi Catwalk Curls Rock Amplifier curl cream and Eco Curl and Wave gel. These have been the best combo yet but still my curl clumps are very fine and quite stringy though at least I do have properly wavy/curly hair now all the time :) Thanks Courtney for all your brilliant advice xx

LipstickLynn- Lynn Wise: I followed the majority of your steps today and my hair turned out the best it ever has!!! Thank you!!!

Karli Stewart: I have 2B waves and my hair has been loving these few products lately(you can find all of these at your local target) : not your mother's curl talk mousse, shea moisture's Jamaican black castor oil styling lotion, and lastly, the leave in conditioner you actually put me on to haha the curls blueberry bliss leave in. My hair has loved there products so much as far as styling goes. For shampoo and conditioners, I have still been swapping back and forth for my wash days. I work out every week day so its kind of difficult for me to not wash my hair every single day during the work week because I also have a office job for my 9-5. So I have been using the Cantu Shampoo, and conditioner one day and then following up with the Cantu Cowash the next day, and I just alternate back and forth with these two things through the week.

Bernie *: me: should be studying, but watching hair routines instead xD

elen dean: My absolute favorite to use to my hair right now is the Cantu avocado hydrating gel because my hair tends to get a lot of dried out by the end of the we can avocado seems to really help a lot with it and I just love that gel cuz it is not too scrunchie it is not too crunchy and well it's also affordable you can find at Walmart Dollar Store pretty much anywhere you can get hair products

Savannah Castaños: going out and buying the products today!! thank you for the hair routine<3

Isadora Furlan: Hi!! I'm brazilian. I have wavy hair, but it's volumous and hard to get defined. After I watched your video I went to US on vacation and bought the cantu conditioner and leave-in. It's just perfect to my hair!! I hope this brand come to Brazil soon. Thanks for your review

Writterssoul: just starting my wavy/curly journey here. I just got it cut last week.. and have been just starting to style it this way. So I'm sure I'm making a lot of mistakes and trying to figure out what works for my hair personally is key too. But it's nice seeing someone with hair similar to mine for sure.

Megan Allan: My favourite thing about all of these products is that I can buy them all here in Canada !!!!!! Thanks Courtney !!!

Knee deep in crazy: I have tried all kinds of products over the past 2 years. From high dollar to drugstore. My holy grail finishing product is Cantu Curl Activator Cream. I always go back to it, because nothing gives me curls like it does.

Amy Madison Y0920: I fee like our hair type is so similar! This channel is like my encyclopedia to the curly girl method!

Rey Squadron: I'm new to curly girling it and love your videos! It is so helpful to see exactly what you do and use and I hear your voice in my head when I'm trying to remember what to do. I also have wavy low porosity hair, so your vids are extra helpful for the wavies difference from curlies. Its only my second wash and first time diffusing but I already learned from you that I didn't use enough gel cuz I had fly aways too!

Natalie Costello: I recently purchased the garnier fructis 1 minute hydrating hair mask and it's changed my hair game entirely!

Christi Farris: I love the Cantu shampoo, conditioner, the spray leave-in, the coconut curling cream, and Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafural oil max hold gel. My hair LOVES all of Cantu's shea butter, but I have to watch the amounts I use. I have thin hair, but lots of it. I have good curls and coils that have shown up on my CG journey. They haven't made an appearance in 45 years since I was just a little girl. I'm loving this journey!

Sara Briers: Hey Courtney, still enjoying your videos :). Really "washing" away my Sunday blues on this rainy afternoon in Belgium. Have a nice week :)!

Lora Beth T: I just bought some new Aussie pros and they are ! The mousse +conditioner and the “curl refreshing spray” are my favorites. The spray gives a hard cast and has helped my hair look curlier. Plus they are $5 and under!

Tiffany Dye: Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic is my most favorite! I usually use it as a one and done. Love that stuff so much. But I do want something with a bit more hold. Gonna have to try that gel.

Vanessa Lavoie: Wow I really like it! It almost looks like you just woke up like that, like an “effortless” beachy wavy relaxed look ❤️

Just Random: i am a year late to this but omg this just helped so much because i could never get the frizz down in my hair and this made it go away. i even waited like hours before writing this review and my hair has never looked so good and defined however i finished it off with a diffuse instead of air drying

cas94: I think your hair looked great after using these products, Courtney!

M E Walters: I use VO5 conditioner. The extra volume has proteins; the coconut conditioner is a good all around moisturizer for my gray hair.

Shark Bait: Beautiful! Love the curl definition.

AgathaVelvet: It's looks so easy, breezy, beachy. Love the looser boho look. Great job!

Jilleyful: My favorite drug store products (Canada) are the Pantene curly and volume boosting shampoo and conditioner, the Shea Moisture curl cream, Cake mousse and Herbal Essences gel, both the totally twisted one and the firm hold one (which I forget the name of, right now...). I think this wash day went reasonably well, though the curls have been more defined other days. I think the shine is beautiful, though, and it does look soft!

Danielle Joy: I’m straight up addicted to the garbled curly jelly. I’ve tried other ones and it’s hands down my fave of all time!

Crystal Audas: I have never used a mousse last/after a gel! I need to try this, because I love alot of volume! Thanks for the styling tip

Nessa: I really like Not Your Mother’s naturals line, but their packaging is pretty frustrating! The conditioners are hard to finish up because of the pump. I’ve gone through a couple already so I’m starting to consider a different brand with similar ingredients (no silicones, parabens, etc) but better packaging.

stac1126: I love it! I think it looks great! Also I love the drug store products! I would love to see you try more drug store products, maybe all one brand would be a good series to start. All Garnier fructis, all Herbal Essence, all Suave.

TD Hawk: My absolute forever fave , for effectiveness, softness and shine, as well as a clean light scent (like soap and water clean scent) and no allergic reaction, has always been "Suave Curl Enhancing Spray" in the pump bottle. Haven't been able to find it in years. But its THE ABSOLUTE BEST. (yes, surprised me too) Luuuuurve! Thank you for this video! Im allergic to a couple of things, but it looks like from what I can see of the ingredients, I can use the mousse. I'm going to check it out, thanks!

Rachel B: Looks good Courtney! I love Pacifica shampoo and conditioner products they work well and smell amazing. I love their curl cream and At this point my fave gel is from the curl talk line. It definitely lives up to the hype for me.

Buttery Tomatoes: Looks great and soft! Definitely not as curly as you usually are but I like it! I have been intrigued with this shampoo and conditioner and may have to try it out!

Jacoy: I have the same cream, gel and mousse!! Thanks for teaching me better ways to use them!

Terry: I think your hair looks naturally beautiful! (I'm big on how my hair feels almost more than how it looks!)

capulet703: I prefer the pantene curls mousse over the herbal essence mousse. I just bought the Garnier fruit teas conditioner and I’m so excited to try it! It’s pretty new isn’t it? I also got a carols daughter version of the shampoo which seems pretty similar. I think this video might actually get me motivated to shower today, LOL!

Swavy Blonde: I found that the difference between drug store products and more expensive ones is that you have to use more of the drug store products, whereas more expensive are way more concentrated. However, my holly grail is Shockwave gel and mousse. I've been looking for something different but nothing is as good for me.

jenny: I would love to see a one brand wash day on Calia Naturals! I've heard so much hype about them and I've always wanted to know how it would work for wavy/curly hair

Tchico56: Your videos has helped me so much with my wavy hair! Youre amazing and I love your videos and your hair

Emily Watkins: This is exactly the products I use besides the shampoo and conditioner. It was so nice seeing someone else use those products!

Michmash: Love this video topic! I get frustrated trying to find products because I am highly sensitive to aloe, and so many items contain it! (I know, aloe is supposed to be soothing, but if I get aloe gel—especially straight from the plant—onto my skin, I develop a rash.) So, still looking for affordable holy grail products for my 2b-3a hair that won’t give my skin a reaction! (Don’t even get me started on how many hand sanitizers have aloe as their second or third ingredient!) BTW, I am pretty new to the CGM and I very much appreciate how clearly you demonstrate all the squishing, scrunching, clumping, etc. in your videos. It really helps!

Anonymous: I actually quite like Garnier! I haven't seen many curly girl influencers mention them. Maybe they're better for the wavier, finer type hair

Mariana PTKS: Ohhh i liked this very much!!! I came here a few weeks ago to see if you've ever tried Cantu curl activator and now here it is! It does give me very soft bouncy definition i didn't knew i had! You should try the Custard from the same line, it does give a nice cast when glazed+scrunched in as the last step. I loved the result of your wash day, you looked very summery and beachy :) have a great weekend and thanks xx

Morgan: The Aussie gel also makes my hair really soft but I've found that no matter how much I use, I've never gotten a cast from it. My waves are also very elongated, but I thought that was because if the length. I'm still new, only 7 weeks curly girl method, and I haven't tried other gels yet

Kirsten Signar: I think the Aussie products are perfectly good. I've gotten similar results (as in...I don't know what the difference was at all) with those as I did with some higher end products. At least for me, it seems that CGM is 90% technique, and 10% about the products. I love Giovanni personally (gotta get that protein!) which I think are "supposed to be" kinda drugstore, although I don't normally see them there so... :)

Sheepspot: "It's not metaphorical! I was the actual breeze from the diffuser!" My drugstore fave is the As I Am Coconut Cowash.

Olivia Shafer: I absolutely love Aussie Instant gel!!! No crunch left over after SOTC.

Hannah Coyne: Thank you for doing what you do. You're the first youtuber I've ever seen doing these reviews that has my hair. Like exactly. This was super helpful, please keep it up.

Tamara Streich: Love it!!! You nailed it Cortney, going to do this iam excited thank you again

Dozey Mare: I think your hair looks lovely, I think you can get those days where you just feel 'off' towards things but honestly, I think it looks great. I'm loving my Noughty products atm, the curl cream makes my hair so soft with just enough hold. Not sure if you've done a review of Noughty, I don't think I've seen it if you have. Would it be one that you are willing to review, I think it would be great for your wavy hair. Have a good day Courtney

Casie Blevins: I think it's the Aussie product that was the problem. I love all of their products EXCEPT the gel which appears to do absolutely nothing at all. At least with my hair it didnt work at all. My favorite gel is the Cantu staying glue. That works wonderfully!

Jinnelle Foy: Courtney, do you feel if you were to use more gel, you would've liked the wash routine better? Did you like the products individually and would use them again? Great vid so helpful!

Cindy Holman: I've used the totally twisted peppermint gel because it was someone's holy grail - it works pretty well not sure it's my best gel though - I haven't used the other products.

Isabell Snape: Would love a drugstore video with products available in different countries!

Animal Fam: The longer your hair gets, the more I fall in love with it

Sunshine_s Girl: I think it’s really pretty. I can’t wait for my hair to progress. I haven’t really locked anything down yet as far as favorite products. Mine are drugstore because it’s all I can afford right now. I did make some flax/aloe gel & I found the Suave daily clarifying shampoo & LA Looks gel at Dollar Tree. So I’m just looking forward to my hair looking better after doing this for several months.

Johanna Federkeil: How often do you wash your hair? And what temperature do you use throughout the process? I have just recently found out that I have 2B type hair

Amanda Hill: My curls are poppin when I use the Cantu curling creme and the aussie freeze gel together!! You hair is gorgeous by the way!!

Marie M: I really like the Coconut Curls shampoo, conditioner and leave-in. I get lots of spirally curls for such inexpensive products. Your hair looks beautiful!!

AnnaLibra: Your hair looks great, as always. Not as curled as usual... But, for my part, I honestly would have ZERO complaints if my hair looked like yours does today. It's always so dang SHINY and you don't seem to have any frizz. Ever. (at least not compared to me lol).

yensid: I don't have a drugstore or commercial shampoo/conditioner but I've been very happy using NYM's stylers. I use the curl cream, gel & mousse & get consistently good results.

Rebecca Ros: Just did a wash day. Of course before I saw your video! But based on watching you and others, I think I did ok. I’ve only been on the curly journey for about a month. I think my hair will be similar to yours (someday).

Krista: I’m a big fan of the Cantu curl activator and Aussie gel

Carol Whelihan: beautiful hair!! I love it longer as well. any length looks great on you. Been trying your techniques! Thx!

Rachel Salazar: I love the Not Your Mothers Curl line. I love the gel and the mousse. I never liked that Herbal Essence mousse you used it was way to heavy on my hair. I noticed it is also a leave in conditioner and think that’s why I don’t get much volume and definition when I use it.

Teri Nolan: Love the way your hair turned out!!! I have 2 holy grail mousses 1. TGIN rose water mousse & the cake curl mousse!! The TGIN mousse i bought at ulta the cake mousse walgreens

Kristina Pettus: I use the Not Your Mother's blue shampoo and Cantu leave in cream. I love both! Also the Aussie Instant freeze is my favorite! I would love to see whT your thoughts are on the NYM collection. I've seen you use the cream before.
