I'M starting on an old braid out. This is the product of my first attempt of a braid out. This is about four days out. It'S dry, it's frizzy! It needs some tender, loving care, so I'm just giving you guys a gist of what exactly it looks like after the wear and tear of about a week. So I'm going to wash and deep condition my hair and then I will be back now that my hair is clean and moisturized. I parted my hair and now I'm going to separate and divide my sections, so I can start my braid. I will be using shea moisture today as my moisturizer and my leave-in, I'm going to saturate my hair really good with some water and I'm going to begin to saturate my hair with the product. As some of you may know, I love shea moisture. I always have our always will they're leaving conditioner has always been my ride-or-die and I can say the same for their curl enhancing smoothie, it's thick, it's creamy. It gives me all the moisture I need and for this braid out since I am new to it. I had to make sure I used products that I knew would work for my hair from there. I separate my section again and then prepare to detangle and today I'm going to be using my lovely Denman brush as usual, and I'm going to start at the ends and work my way to the roots from there. I'M gon na apply my styler, which today is the ORS curl boosting jelly. It is also one of my old, faithful rider guys I used when I first went natural. It was introduced to me by a family member, and I never looked back so if this is a product you want to try, I recommend it. It smells good, it has great hold without the crunch, so you should definitely check it out and then this step, I'm really focusing on smoothing my hair and getting it as smooth as possible, and I'm also being very, very, very generous, so don't be afraid to be Generous with your styler, with your smoothing agent on this step, and then I'm gon na take my Denman brush smooth it out one more time and the last step is to simply braid. I think we all know how to braid here and then at the end of the braid. I simply twirl it to keep it in place and one thing that I actually do that might be different for some people. I actually blot out the excess product. That'S poking out of the braid, you can leave it and let it really soak in, but I don't like being messy so then I take down the other separated section and repeat the steps i detangle with my Denman brush apply my jelly, slash, smoothing agent generously to My section smooth it out one last time with my Denman brush and then I begin to braid and another thing to add for those of you who may be transitioning or have heat damaged as your ends that can't twirl it. You can also add a perm rod or some type of rod or roller to roll your ends up so they'll curl and stay in place. Lastly, blot out the excess product with a towel. Now you don't have to do this, you can leave it and let it soak in or you can just not use as much product as I do. Y'All know I'm heavy-handed, and that is the basic gist of how I did my braid out. I'M going to show you a few more times and then we're gon na do a little speed through so to repeat saturate your hair with water apply your moisturizing cream product, leaving conditioner. Whatever you decide, make sure it's really saturated in your hair. Again, you do not have to be as heavy-handed as I am separate that section and focus on one for now use your Denman brush to detangle and smooth out your hair apply a generous amount of whatever gel jelly. You choose smooth it out one last time with your Denman brush and then you can braid and now that I'm done, I'm just gon na show you all what it looks like. I did small-to-medium braids, you don't have to do them this small, but that's how I did them, because I wanted to define the look, the smaller, the braids, the more defined I'm gon na. Let these sit for about two days and air-dry. You can say under a dryer if you like, but I'm just gon na. Let nature take its course. As you can see, my braids are shrunken up and completely dry you'll see that the back is a little frizzy, but I don't mind that. But yes, they are shrunken up. They are dry, still have some shine, but they're ready to be separated. I'M gon na use my Africa's best herbal oil. Rub it really good in my hands and saturate my hair with it first so that I can eliminate as much frizz as possible, then there's nothing left to do, but to separate. I don't have any special technique. Any special formula for separating all you do is start your ends and work your way up, and you all will see the definition that I get and you might see it on my face too now that everything is good and separated I'm gon na. Take it one step further and put some more oil on my hands and begin to fluff and separate my hair further to add more volume and to give my hair some more body. You can also pick your hair if you want to. I personally don't pick my hair, I don't own a pic. I don't ever pick my hair at the roots or anything like that, because I don't like any tugging on my strands whatsoever. What, if that floats your boat, go ahead? The last step that I do if you've seen my night routine, you know how this works. I flipped my hair up into a pineapple and put the bonnet over top of it like. I would normally do to go to bed, and this adds even more volume and body to my hair without me having to use a pic or anything, and it also helps with that middle part that you saw in the back that you might have noticed. It helps with that as well. Now I usually sit with this for about thirty minutes to an hour, but I got sidetracked and this is actually the next day, but you all will see what my hair looks like I'm so proud of it. I was so surprised and I'm just gon na let the video do the talking so shiny, so moisturized and not crunchy at all. I was so proud of how my hair turned out. It does have a little bit of frizz in some areas, but I was okay with that. I was just so happy with how this turned out you guys so happy and in the middle of my session the Sun came out. So, of course, I had to get that. Thank you guys so much for watching my second attempt at a braid out.
