Alright y'all, so we're going to get right to it, DIY, hair, gel and what you'll need is flaxseed. I got mine at Whole. Foods you'll need 1/4 cup, so toss that in a pot with 2 cups of water at high heat, you'll want to start often to make sure that the seeds don't stick to the bottom of the pot once it begins to boil. You can lower the heat to about medium and continue to stir until it reaches a gel-like consistency, not too running like water, but also not too thick like paste. It usually takes about a good 5 minutes to get there, but once you do you can lower the heat and set the awesome aside really quickly, so that you can get your strainer ready. I'Ve got a mason jar and I took some pantyhose to help strain. The gel from the seeds, I just cover the opening of the jar and poured goes into the pot into the jar and the penny holes is what collects the flaxseed now to further strain the seeds. You can take some tongs and slide it down the pantyhose, squeezing out as much gel as possible. It gets a little tough, the thicker the gel is, but I promise you that you can do it once you've squeezed out as much gel as you could. You can actually save the flaxseeds for another use, making this very economical. I just covered it and threw that in the fridge until next time and with your actual gel, you can either stop there or add some essential oils to preserve it or have it. Last a little longer. I chose the added oil route, so I included about a teaspoon of vitamin E oil. I actually just took the oil straight from the capsule and then I added just a few drops of tea tree rosemary and lavender, essential oils, which are all actually pretty good for stimulating hair growth and finally, a few extra drops of Jasmine oil for scent. Because I love the smell mix that all together cover it up and then leave it in the refrigerator until you're ready to use it once it's cold. The gel will thicken up just a tad bit more depending on how long you've had it over the stove. Now, when it comes to applying it, I need to show you guys my results. So when styling, I always make sure to apply my products on wet or damp hair, which is why I'm spraying it with some water and then I actually go in with a leave-in conditioner. You can use any one at your favorite, preferably one with to get through the tangles first and then I'm ready for the gel y'all. It smells so good and it has a gooey gel, like consistency, weird but perfect for styling. So I just take a chunk. I rub it between my palms and I apply it like. I apply any other product on my hair, making sure that the gel is evenly distributed throughout my curls. Now this gel, while feels slimy and slippery, doesn't actually have a lot of slip in it, which is why I urge you to use a leave-in conditioner first, but I've played with the ingredients several times, and this is the best mix to get the results that I'm Looking for so yeah distribute the gel evenly throughout the hair and scrunch to encourage a curl pattern and then, like always, I don't touch it until it's 100 % dry. Once it's dry, though, there is a big possibility that your hair will look like stiff ramen, but that's okay, though, because we're going to scrunch it out after scrunching. My hair felt incredibly soft. I really liked that there was no flaking and my hands were not sticky whatsoever, which, let me tell you, is something that I get from a lot of gels, which is why I don't really like using gels, but this one is so good. So I just keep scrunching and scrunching until I get that fluff that I like - and these are my results when I tell you my hair smells so so good now I didn't really get the definition that I usually like, but I did throughout the day, get more Volume, but still without any frizz, so I would highly recommend anyone looking to try a DIY gel to give this one a go. I feel so confident and going to love it. Give this video a thumbs up if you liked it and don't forget to subscribe. If you haven't already, let me know in a comment below if you've tried a DIY hair gel before and what your mix and results were like then go check out. My last video on an apple cider, vinegar rinse. I also have a blog channel that I just started so check that out too and I'll see on the next video. I'M busy, though bye

Staellie: I love this gel. The first time I tried it, I didn’t use a leave in conditioner, and my hair was a bit stiff. Now I do use a leave in. The volume and the bounce to the curls are incredible. I froze the extra gel in an ice tray to save time from having to make another batch Also, I have found that if you soak the seeds overnight, it lessens the boiling time by half. I did reuse my seeds and got the same quality gel as before. Thanks. I would never have thought of reusing them.

angelsndaisies: I love this recipe. My hair is curly but fine and this isn't too heavy on my hair, especially since I can control the consistency of the gel. Thank you so much for sharing it!

Alexa Michelle: Gorgeous results ❤️ I need to try this :) thanks for the video!

Aida F.: Just made this thank you so much Rocio, can't wait to use it next wash day!!

Lauren55: I put my finished gel in my mini ninja blender to make the consistency more even and frothy. Even after refrigeration it stays rather liquidy and not so “lumpy”. I store the gel in a glass jar usually but, this last time I used a squeeze bottle with a cap. Just squirt into my hands instead of dipping in. Easy peasy ✨

Ludmila Victoria Bueno: Thanks for this great gel! I would like to know, how long is this preserved for as we are not adding any preservatives? Is there a way to make it longer lasting? Thank you!

Charlene Chi-Chi Smith: I love that this video was so short! I have been making flax seed gel (from a different recipe) for a long time now. My hair loves it and reacts the best to it. The recipe I followed uses aloe Vera gel also, and since the pandemic, aloe Vera gel has become scarce, so I stopped making my gel. Your recipe doesn’t take it, so I guess it isn’t necessary? I can tell you, with the aloe Vera gel included, you most likely don’t need the leave in conditioner step, BUT I would rather have my gel back, so I think I’m going to switch over to your recipe. Thank you!

L Sat: Love your voice, hair results and this video! making this right now! Thank you

Daisy Gomez: Thanks for sharing! I have tons of frizz and I always need to use gel to tame my hair. I'm going to try it this weekend. xoxoxo - Daisy

Allison Posey: Omg your videos are awesome!!! I have natural curly hair thick hair!! And I can't wait to try out this hair gel recipe!!!!

JaiProdz: I need to get my hands on some Flaxseeds! I feel like after that you can pretty much make your own hair/body products with oils, shea butter and then flaxseeds as a styler :)

JessVazquez: So excited to try this! I LIVE for a DIY!

Alexis: I wash my hair with either Aleppo or Moroccan clay and then rinse it with an apple cider rinse that has some other stuff in it too. Like once a week at least I leave in coconut oil and I sleep with a microfiber hair-thingy and use this flax seed gel when styling it for the day. Haven't found any leave in conditioner besides coconut oil that I like, but the rest of my hair routine works so well for my waves and curls. Natural really is best!

Katherine Grullon: Not sure if this is a silly question but how long does this gel last? Since it's a natural home made gel, does it expire?

unBoxed: Yay. I want to try this. I have curls just like yours. Must do this

Demigod: This is great, i love it. Do you have to keep the gel in the fridge when youre not using it?

Davinia Linda: once you've used the flax seeds how long can you keep them and how many more uses before they are no good anymore?

Amirah Nasir: I love this wow thanks for sharing !

Suzy S: how long does it last in your fridge before it goes bad, does it even go bad? Love your vid

Angeline PremKumar: This is my go to gel for styling my curls. But I have noticed a kind of whitish residue on the hair once it's dry. Any tips?

Amyrrah Gillespie: Thank youu❤ This video was much needed!

Villan#305: Hi after applying the flaxseed oil then for how long should we leave it. Do we have to wash the hair after n hour or can we use n do our daily chor?

Norma Barros: Thank you very detailed flax tutorial

Ossie R: I’ve tried it on my 4C hair, used with vitamin E capsule, next time Argan oil. The first time I only used the flaxseed gel afterward I used with a leave-in. My hair loves it, moisturizing and defined.

eternal_blissss: Can you use ground flaxseed? Or does it have to be whole?

Diamond Brown: Do you ever straighten your hair? If so, do you notice a lot of split ends? I wear my hair curly most of the time and I get trims. But when i detangle and when I rake in my products it seems as tho my ends thin out then split which ruins a fresh cut. How can I make a trim stay looking fresh and ways to prevent split ends when wearing curly hair?

alhanouf 2017: Thank youuu so much ❤️❤️❤️

Amy Ritter: Thank you for putting this up. My question is, I am caucasion, with ethnic heritage. My hair is naturally kinky curly. Will this work for me?

1Love Israelites: Do you think I can make this with ground flax seeds

E B: what leave in conditioner did you use?

The Ambivert_73: wonderful curls

Maram Farid: Can I add Vitamin D instead of E

Amanda Victoria: I did this step by step and still had flaking. When I would shake my hair with my hands, the flakes would fall down like dandruff off my head. I did it step by step. Now, I don't use the stocking, I just go from pot to container. It's frustrating putting the gel in my hair with SO many flaxseeds and having to pick them out one at a time, straining doesn't help either. Other than thatt it's a good gel, I keep it in the fridge.

Kernessa Nelson: Hey, have you used any products from the shealicious line?

Ait Kaid Thinhinane: Thanks i'll truy it

jjjjj: Made this last night...it seems like it's still really liquid-y, and not as gel-like as yours turns out. I followed the instructions exactly. Any idea what I did wrong?

Alka Joseph: Hi I made this but when my hair became completely dry it left me with few white patches here and there, any suggestion please

Curly Girl Vanessa: Does this have any benefits on the hair?

Ruba Badiyab: Have you heard about aphogee 2 step protein treatment ..is it good

Vanessa C: Can you type in ingredients in the description box please. Thank you

Miss Smile: can I use my leave in before using this gel or just it will be enough?

Lisa Sims: This is NAP85's recipe from her video in 2010.

Kiranbir Kaur: Very nice video

Sarita Hernandez: It should be very simple to put some flax seed and water in a pot and boil - well for me not that simple - I tried and this did not materialize into gel - so I grind the seeds and tried it again after 20 minutes still no gel --- Hmmmmm

Yousra Tv: I liiiiiiike it so much today I try it I swear

Xhoana Kuci: I love your hair

Dangmei pink: How can I make my hair curly.. can u please tel me the instructions..

Dangmei pink: How can I make my hair curly.. can u please tel me the instructions..

azra au: how not get flakes ?

shadowkitteh03: How much do you use tho? Ratio?

Caneindiva Crawford: ❤️

Mimosa Mounia: Whats the point of scrunching please ? Love your curls ❤️

Ossie R: Oh I didn’t save the seeds but I will next time.

Noha Mahmod: انا بحب الشعر الكيرلي❤❤❤

Neelam princess: جربتهة انا ونجح معي حلو كثير

Yousra alhayla: Her voice

Moaaz Ashour: Stupid question please! anybody answer me! I have like 5 types of essential oils. I knew that you can use them only for diffusing so I got a diffuser. Are you saying that I can add them to this gel or my shampoo for example?

Dr Mahalakshmi: Thankq from India❤️

Queen of all tradez: Why did I have flaking what did I do wrong??

shanna beauchamp: Here is my take..flaxseed is food. Woudnt leaving food in your hair become moldy after awhile?

loma المنحوسه: لا إله إلا الله .. بذور الكتان وصلت عندكم

Audrey Fisher: Preservatives-I wish y'all would talk about that in ur videos more...vitamin e Is not one I had to research that ...its a great gel but there is way more to it than just putting it in the fridge like how u store it and sterilization.... Not being a hater but I wish more videos would focus on the safety of these products... Cuz u have to to really research how to safely keep these products unless u plan on making little small batches all the time.... And id rather have safe shelf life thats whats cost effective...again just wanted to put that out there...I didnt know there was so much more to it if ur serious about making ur own...esp. If u use it on ur kids be aware bacteria breeds quick in water based anything regardless so be careful and research......

سمراء صرب: بلزززز احكي عربي و ا حد يترجم الله يخليكم

cigar anus: Don't do this. I used this for a week and it turned all dark green with white spots. Hell nah.

hash 007: Do u naturally have curly hair

اخبار ملاك Malak news: Yes ths is a morrocan resept.. its very old one.. and make hair soft and haelty

Dangmei pink: Can you please tel me the ingredients for making curly hair
