In this episode of amy's drugstore shampoo reviews, i'm reviewing maui moisture's helen hydrate, shea butter shampoo. This shampoo says it is for dry damaged, hair. It creates an intense frothy lather due to the strong detergent olefin sulfonate, which i normally try to avoid because it can over strip and irritate the scalp. But in this formula that drying action is offset by the blend of cationic conditioners, that smooth strands and frizz and rich hydrating, butters and oils that give hair a nourished, feel and super shiny. Look my hair didn't get oily until three days after washing and if it weren't for this olefin sulfonate and strong synthetic fragrance that is so overpowering. I got a headache immediately. After opening the bottle, this would have gotten a much higher rating. This shampoo is like that. Funny, attentive guy you really like, but just wish he didn't wear so much cologne and spit while he talked. I give this shampoo a healthy 6.9 rating.
