This post answers one of the most requested questions from my DMs and comments -
Q: "Can you suggest me a good shampoo for hair growth?" You might want to save it
The answer is a resounding NO. A shampoo cannot magically grow your hair. BUT a good cleansing shampoo can help REDUCE hair fall to some degree. Cleansing shampoos are normally free of silicones and are used for clearing the scalp of dirt and silicone buildup, giving the scalp an ideal environment conducive for hair growth.
@reequil sent over their Hair Fall Control shampoo and here's my thoughts after using it over 3 weeks:
Its got a creamy texture which lathers extremely well so you dont need a lot of it for a single wash.
♀️It works amazing on scalp debris and keepts the scalp fresh for 3-4 days (if you have a dry scalp like mine)
♀️You can use it once a week but make sure you’re using a conditioner/ mask as usual.
While the brand calls it a Hair Fall Control Shampoo, they also mention that it arrests hair fall by clearing the scalp which i think is a very responsible marketing claim.
- Has a mild fragrance which is somewhere between cosmetic and pharmaceutical.
- Has a pH of 5.5 - 6.5 which is close to the pH of the human scalp.
Pls once again remember that shampoos DO NOT regrow hair. Hair growth stems from a good diet, environmental factors, lifestyle and great genes. Products like shampoos however facilitate other hair care treatments by maintaining a healthy scalp.
✨Primary ingredients include Biotin, Niacinamide, Hydrolysed Wheat Proteins and Nasturtium officinale Extract (antioxidant).
Imo this is a great product if you're looking for a weekly cleansing shampoo that doesnt unncessarily dry your hair out and is quite affordable as well
The bottle can last anywhere between 2.5- 3 months. Retails at INR 525/ 250ml but you'll most often find it on discount.
