DON'T FORGET TO LIVE YOUR EXTRA LIFE!

Okay, so yeah here's the thing hair-washing, it's like you think you already know everything about it right. You may know everything about it. I feel like you, don't I just feel like there's a lot more. You could know about it. I know what you're thinking since when is hair-washing interesting. I mean it's the last thing I really think about it's like I do it and I get out of shower, and I think like. Oh my god, that's it that was so easy. I wash my hair and I'm never gon na think about it again, but no I'm here to tell you you should think about it more. So I'm gon na take the opportunity today to just go over some things with you enlighten. You expand your horizons when it comes to washing your hair, let's just dive right into it. Let'S do it welcome to class boys and girls. This is hair washing 101 on the whiteboard cannot read out beautiful, so listen. This video concept came up to me when I was telling people how to use my shampoo conditioner projects. I used it on my Instagram story. I showed you guys what you should be doing, how you should be washing your hair and a lot of people had a lot a lot of questions about this. Listen. I'Ve had all the questions ever when doing clients hair it's the one thing. You don't really talk about, because you think everybody already knows about it, but it's actually not true. So, let's get into it water temperature. What do you think is the best option to wash your hair wet, cold, hot, extremely hot lukewarm. Take your pick. What I think is the best I'm gon na give you the answer right now. Okay, warm is the correct answer. Congratulations. We got that right. Warm you washing it with warm water. Okay, a lot of people want to know hey. Should I be washing my hair with cold water? I heard it makes your hair shinier. I heard it makes your hair healthier. I'M gon na come out and say it. I think washing your hair with cold water is such bad. I wouldn't do it unless you want to just make yourself miserable in the morning or at night or whenever you end up washing your hair, stop washing your hair with cold water. You need the warm water in order to open up your hair, cuticle. Okay, warm water will end up opening your cuticle bit wider and then cold water well, and it will release the dirt easier. You can honestly put your hair under the warm water and it will cleanse your hair next. Let'S talk about how harsh or how gentle you should be washing your hair. You can take your guess. You should be washing your hair gently, not gently gently or gentlest. Take your pick: what do you think the answer is, if you chose gently you'd, be correct: a lot of people tangle up their hair when washing their hair. A lot of people like to go really in scrub. I know it feels good, but what you're doing is tangling and matting your hair more than it needs to be tangled or matted. You don't need to do that, because we're gon na do is end up roughing up the cuticle way too much. When you wrap up the cuticle, you could be losing hair that you don't need to be losing at that time. Listen just go in side to side motions, not round motions cuz. This will tangle your hair side to side is best and a little bit gentler than maybe you're wanting to go. Okay, you don't need to go like extremely gently. You don't need to be like touching a baby's head, you can go in there. Just don't be like. I see a lot of girls, okay, going in with their fingernails. Listen again. I know it feels great, but you're gon na ruin your hair just chill. Okay, gently gently: rub your head side to side with the shampoo. Now, let's get into suds. Okay, do you need them? Are they necessary? What does suds do they're the thing that washes your hair? They don't do anything they wash your hair better than when you don't have suds. If you chose they, don't do anything you'd be correct, suds, so to anything they're. Just a visual cue that you're washing your hair, you don't need suds for any reason now what suds pretty much do is just make you think, you're washing your hair better than you're, actually washing it kind of cool kind of not cool. But I know a lot of people out. There are convinced that if your shampoo does not suds extremely crazy amounts of foam, your hair is not being shampooed properly. It'S just not true. I'Ve heard a few people say about my shampoo projects and does in sides a lot. However, a lot of companies put a lot of surfactants in their shampoos in order to make you think that their shampoo is working better than other shampoos. Now, when creating my own shampoo, I did put surfactants in there because even me, I even though I know this information, sometimes I'm still like - hmm, not really convinced my hair shampoo properly without having sons. So we did put a surfactant in my shampoo. However, we do not put a overbearing amount, because I don't think it's necessary and, to be honest, it's doing nothing for your hair. It'S just a visual cue that you are shampooing your hair and you are cleaning it. However, even if there wasn't any surfactants in there and no suds, it would still be doing the same thing, so you actually can use shampoo that have absolutely no surfactants in them and they are still doing the job of cleaning. Your hair, interesting right, suds, are not going to harm your hair, except they may harm your thoughts about a certain shampoo conditioner they may make you think one is working better than the other when in actuality the thing that's not sudsing is it's probably doing more good To your hair than the one that is sensing incredible amounts of suds, so yeah now, let's go for one more. I think about the scalp. When you wash your hair, which parts of your hair, should you be washing the scalp only the scalp and ends the ends. Only choose one: if you chose scalp only you'd be correct. Your ends. Yes, they get oily, but the oil comes from your scalp. The scalp is the part that produces the oil. Your ends do not produce oil. That might be surprising as somebody that might be kind of, not at all surprising that a lot of you. I understand that, but here's the thing when you shampoo your scalp with a nice amount of shampoo a little over in a second you shampoo. You rub back and forth like we talked about gently now after you do that you don't then work down the ends of your hair. Don'T please don't take the end of your hair and go like this. Please you're going to ruin your cuticle. It'S not gon na! Be good for you, it's a bad idea. Please don't do that once you go under the warm water and you rinse, your scalp free of shampoo. Your ends will then be shampooed by the residue from this scalp. So everything comes from your scalp down. Releasing the trapped dirt within your ends. There'S no need to rub your ends. There'S no need to get onto your ends with shampoo. Your scalp will be fine, and also all you're gon na do is dry your ends and detangle them a lot more than necessary. There'S no point of shampoo on your end. Your end will get clean by just shampooing your scalp. Now, if you're wondering how much shampoo you should be using. Oh that's a great question: we're about to go over that right now. Basically, most people can use the same amount of shampoo. We all have pretty much the same head space unless you have just an abnormally big head or an abnormally small head. I don't know I'm not judging you do your thing. However, most of us have the same sized head, similar sizes. I'D say how much shampoo should you be using? Well, we have a few different categories here: a dime sized amount, dime sized amounts, three dime sized amounts. If you picked two dime sized amounts, you'd be correct. I like to use one guy inside the mouth for the front of a head, and one dime has enough of the back of a head. Okay, you can put a little bit in at a time lather it up, even though it says don't matter and then work at the front of your hair. All the way back to here put a little bit more in move around your hands and get the back. Okay, make sure you don't wipe the shampoo away with the ends of your hair when you go to put on your scalp okay, if you have very long hair move it around your shoulder, go in from the back go in from the back and go in there. Okay focus on parts that got the most oily, maybe like right here. For me at least that's where I feel like I have the most oil secretion, and that is where I start so. I like to put one hand - maybe right here and one pan right here and kind of just like go in there, but a lot of people tell me they have long hair. They need a lot of shampoo. They buy the gallons of shampoo. It'S not enough for that girl. You do not have to be using that much shampoo, that's crazy! 99 % of people can use the exact same amount of shampoo. I can use the same amount of shampoo as a girl with 24 inch long hair. I promise I have heard people have watched her once a year. I'Ve heard people who wash their hair every day. How often should I be washing my hair again, I'm very happy. You asked that question. Should you wash your hair once a week every day, once a month once a year pick your answer? What do you think aright answer is if you chose any of these answers, you'd be correct. I know why, because everybody is different. This is a wonderful, diverse world. We live in, and so is your shampooing routines. Now, not exactly gon na, say, washing your hair every day is the greatest thing. However, I know that there are people out there who have extremely oily hair. That is usually because they have a dependency on shampoo. Ok, you've grown up washing your hair every single day your parents told you that's we're supposed to do. You'Ve been using very harsh chemicals, possibly some, not so good, drugstore shampoos and your hair's gotten very dried out. Therefore, it's over producing oils to your scalp. There are ways to fix this. Ok, I typically like to wash my hair once a week and when my hair gets oily, I use a natural bristle brush from the scalp to the ends and I brush it through can also use dry shampoo to help combat the oils in your hair. So if you've been washing your hair every day, if your whole life, I would probably stop that. I'M going to say one more thing before you come after me right now, my shampoo is called Project X, everyday, shampoo, everyday shampoo. Let'S get one thing straight: okay, everyday shampoo does not mean everyday. I know that's a little misleading, however, when somebody refers to an everyday shampoo, it's typically a word used for a shampoo that is gentle enough for everyday use. For those of you who are committed to washing her every day, you can definitely use my shampoo every single day. However, it really refers to a shampoo and missioner that is gentle. That is not going to be extremely heavy. It'S a shampoo that is formulated for all hair types and textures. It'S gon na be good for everyday use if you were committed to that and good for it, people who wash their hair not so often. So, let's go over that, though I would discontinue washing every day if possible. There are a lot of YouTube videos about how to train your hair, how to stop washing it so much how to make your hair stop producing so many oils. So I definitely recommend going to YouTube and searching on, if you're interested, to learn more about that. However, today we're not going over that so go watch somebody else's video, but for me somebody has processed lightened hair. I like to wash once a week. It gives me the perfect amount of time to have a little bit of oil secretion for my scalp to hydrate and not dried. My hair too much so once a week seems to be pretty good for most people or twice a week, seems to be pretty pay for most people. Also, let's talk about how long you should be living your conditioner on for 30 seconds. 3 minutes. 10. Minutes. 15 minutes Plus this will vary per person. No listen! You want extra hydration. I would definitely leave it on as long as you possibly can in the shower. I don't think you need to exceed 15 minutes. I think yes for a hair mask, but for just plain old conditioner I would probably go personally with about 3 minutes. I like to get in the shower right away: shampoo, my hair right away after that, put conditioner on and just leave it on until I'm done with the shower that maybe whatever 3 10 minutes, whatever I end up doing that day, but I'd say just leave it On but you don't need to exceed 15 minutes, if you don't feel like it, I really just don't believe it's gon na do anything else for your hair unless you're using a hair mask that is made to be left on. For that long time. I like to always follow up my personal conditioning routine with a hair mask, because I know that I need more love than just a regular conditioner. Now the conditioner is gon na. Do the job of detangling getting it kind of prepared for the hair mask, but I like to really double up on conditioner, and I know the hair mask will give me that much needed to the lift of all the essentials. I need in order to really really hydrate my hair and bring it back to life, and also I have a couple things to go over after the shampoo and conditioning process. Here'S a big one for me: here's a pet peeve of mine when you get out of the shower do not take that towel and scrub your head with it. Don'T you dare do that to me? Don'T go like this. Don'T dry it down and go like this to your ends. Oh my god, there's nothing! I want to see less than that calm down. Brittney I would recommend, is scrunch the hair in the towel. You cannot lay the towel over your hands and scrunch the bottom scrunch. The top, whatever, whatever I also wouldn't, put your hair in a turban. I know it's it's. It'S tempting, but you're gon na end up getting some tension alopecia if you're putting your hair up in a turban all the time after washing it, because it's gon na really pull on those very fragile front pieces of your hair that had just been washed that had Just been warmed up when your hair is warmed up it, isn't it much more fragile and expandable state than what it is cold, so I would not recommend putting your hair up in a turban. I know it's easy. I know it's like. I should do that, but like no you shouldn't girl, you just shouldn't, do it nothing, your hair has been washed perfectly and it's looking fabulous and it's been conditioned to perfection. One of the most important parts for me is after the shampooing process. Listen following up with a great haircare routine is essential: okay, because what you're doing when you shampoo is getting the dirt out of your hair and detangling and adding a bit more health to your hair, with whichever product you may be using. But at the end of the day, shampoo and conditioner is only touching her hair for a matter of minutes. There are definitely benefits to that, but there's not as many as there's gon na be when using aftercare products after your shampoo and conditioning process. So this is where it's gon na vary a lot per person. You'Ve dry hair. You want to use some leave ends. You want to use some oils. You have curly hair. You want to use some curl products, obviously curl defining products you want to use. Maybe some oil also maybe some key protectant spray. If you're gon na try and blow dry out and straighten it, whatever your hair type or texture, is there are definite necessary products. You should be using in order to keep your hair at the healthy as possible and always follow up your shampoo conditioning routine with the proper product or else you're just gon na. Let your hair down - and you don't want to do that - you're poor. Your hair has done so much for you so much for your confidence. There'S much for your personality, give it a little love! Okay, sure you love it back. Let'S get into the type of shampoo and conditioner you should be using well, i people wonder why i don't always recommend drugstore, cheap shampoo. I am by no means saying that drugstore, shampoo and conditioner is bad, but there are definitely bad ones out there. Listen if the shampoo has been marked down significantly, if you are paying a very low price for your shampoo there's, a very high chance. There is not high-quality ingredients in that shampoo conditioner guys. My father always told me: you don't get nothing for nothing, and I have brought that with me through everything in my life, the more you pay to it point gets you more benefits, listen, don't go out there and spend ten dollars. No shampoo, you're, just gon na get probably a soap bar in a liquid form, which is not gon na go for your hair. It'S gon na strip, you of all your natural, essential oils. It'S gon na leave your hair so damaged without replacing the essentials that your hair needs to grow healthy, so spending a premium price on shampoo conditioner is always worth it. In my opinion - and I know that's like hard to take from me because, like I - have shampoo conditioner - I'm not gon na be like oh, my god - go - buy the five dollar shampoo conditioner, but I genuinely would say that to anybody. No matter what? Because a lot of people set backs to buying expensive, shampoo conditioner is that they use so much of it, and before this we went over how much to use. So you really shouldn't be using very much of it. It should last you quite a while and if that's the only concern you have with the price, then that's your answer. You shouldn't be using as much and it will last you longer and you will not pay any more than what you're currently paying for your current gen. Commissioner, now I can speak on my behalf. My shampoo conditioner costs $ 25, and some of you guys were shook about that. It'S a very normal price for shampoo conditioner that has eight ounces. That should last you a while now I don't want to say how long, because again, some people are callous into my directions and use two times sized amounts, but it should last you quite a few months if you are not washing your hair every single day, and You are using two dime sized amounts, so that is that I just want to say there are reasons for shampoo being so cheap in drugstores, some of them. There are reasons like they. You is literally whatever ingredients they can find whatever the cheapest ingredients. There are at that time and put into it a large quantity of shampoos and conditioners and sell it for a low price because they are making these shampoos conditioners for a very low price. Okay brands are you always marking up their prices, so their consumers? And that's because that's how they make money and typically retailers, people selling goods are marking up their product by 50 %, and that is because it covers the all kinds of costs. Okay, not only do retailers have the cost of making the shampoo conditioner, they have employees to support, they have employees to pay. They have manufacturers to pay they've all sorts of payments that need to go through so you're, not usually looking at companies that have of a 50 % profit margin um. So when a ship who costs $ 6 $ 10, you have to think how much do they make that Shampoo, for that is a very cheap to make, and there are reasons for that, because the ingredients are extremely cheap. Just think about that one. Hopefully that makes sense. That is why I believe you should always be spending more on shampoo conditioner. You don't need to necessarily be rich to spend $ 25 on shampoo and conditioner. You may just need to spend your money more wisely and think about all the things you spent a lot of money on and does not last you half that time or a quarter about time. Well, now that I'm all talked out for the day, I hope you enjoyed that little presentation I have for you. I don't know why I love talking with that topic. So much it's like kind of fun for me. burymeinpink: Brad: "No one thinks about hair washing!" Me, laughing in curly hair: literally schedule my life around my hair washing

Tehehe He: Who else just has this instant urge to wash your hair after this

Jessica Raymond: Brad: “Don’t use a hair turban to dry your hair” Me currently in a hair turban : *slowly take out hair turban*

amnesia: Me: mom I don’t think I should be washing my hair everyday brad says it’s not the best for ur hair Her: what does brad know that I don’t? Me: ummmm he is a professional hairstylist with 7 million followers Her: he’s lying

daphne: - lukewarm water - gentle scrub (side to side motion, not circular) - suds do not do anything - wash your scalp only, not the ends - 2 dime size amount (one in front and one in back) 6:50 - how often you should wash your hair depends on each person (oiliness). But preferably once a week. - leave conditioner atleast 3 minutes but don't go beyond 50 minutes. - don't scrub your hair with towel. Just scrunch the bottom and scalp with it. - don't put your hair up in a toorband

Munsy: Brad: “don’t go out there and buy a 10 dollar shampoo..” Me: “wait people buy 10 dollar shampoos? That’s so expensive-“

Fullmoon: Why do we have to learn complicated math formulas in school when we can't even wash our hair properly?

Anxyty_: I can’t really afford shampoo and conditioner that’s more than $5-$10. Can you do a video rating cheap hair products like shampoos and conditioners that are good?

Mia R: “2 dime size amount” Me: what’s a dime

Marleen Verbauwhede: Hi gorgeous! I really don't understand why people don't like washing their hair...I love it and I don't care if I need to get up earlier: freshly washed hair just makes may day and makes me happy! Anyone else? Thank you so much for all these tips! X

LittleBlindMouse: As someone who does rub my hair with a towel and is also named Brittany, the “calm down Brittany” felt like a personal call-out

Wendy Stevenson: As person who previously washed their hair everyday I can 100% say that training your hair works. Never thought I’d see a day that my insanely oily hair would only need to be washed 1-2 times per week. It still amazes me lol

Abbalou!: I've been a skeptic about this stuff for a while, but recently my hair has been breaking and falling out in huge clumps when i wash it. I followed your tips from this video, focusing on my scalp, washing gently, I've also swapped shampoo to a better brand, and i even towel dried my hair differently (ignoring my turban and everything!) and yep, no hair fell out in the shower, i wasn't pulling strands out in clumps, and i even had minimal breakage when i blow dried. I did it once and noticed a HUGE difference so thank you so much and I will be adopting these changes forever!

Keisha Smith: Omg someone said the idea of a Brad Mondo app and I think it would be so helpful to so many people, you could have a quiz for when people first open the app and then there could be personal tips, hair routines, best washing schedule, etc..

star sparks: "Hair washing is so easy. You never think about it." Me having tried out ten different methods/timings/routines: *cries in curly*

not the vibe: I feel like apologizing to my hair right now

Lorraine Petersen: Thanks Brad for all your great advice given, I absolutely agree on all of it, and I hope people take note.Im a retired stylist and and oh my, great job, love to watch your segments ❤️❤️

Mariah Delapenia: The fact that I’m graduating from beauty school soon and needed a more “in-depth” hair care video, THIS WAS IT. It’s like Brad knew I needed to hear it.

Lori Ru: I should feel silly, but must say this changed my life! I have very curly, but delicate, hair that is always left in an ungodly knot after shower. I used the products gently at the scalp as you directed and ZERO KNOTs! Zero fallout vs the usual handfuls...you are a genius!

lynn312: If there is one thing I will say... you make me love and appreciate my hair more! I have super duper long hair and sometimes it just gets on my nerves I feel the urge to chop it. But I remember that distinct memory of regret when I did it last time. Makes me view my hair as a part of me , defining my persona , who I am, and what I’ve been through with it! Thank you as always ! ♥️✨

Samsung TV: 1. Use warm water, it opens up your cuticles 2. Scrub gently or you may lose a little hair 3. Side to side motions to not tangle it 4. Suds don't do anything 5. Don't scrub your ends, focus on scalp 6. Use two dime sized amounts of shampoo, one at the front and one at the back of the head 7. The amount of times you need to wash your hair depends on how oily your hair gets 8. How long you leave your conditioner on also depends (he does three minutes though) 9. Don't scrub your hair with a towel after washing 10. Don't put it in a turbun (idk how that's spelled)

Stellaris: I found this channel a few months ago and I have learned more about my hair type, what the heck I'm doing with it, and how to properly care for it, than I have in my entire life up to this point. I finally feel like I can try to make it look nice, thank you so much Brad!

ZePopTart: I am jealous AF of the people that can exercise and get away with just dry shampoo. I CANNOT get into bed like that

Mary Elizabeth: Wow, this is all the advice I grew up with from mom. The only thing not there was her ‘squeak test’ for the hair to show that all the shampoo had been rinsed out. The same test can be used to check that there is not an over abundance of conditioner left in hair. Also, since forever I have used 100% cotton baby swaddling blankets on my hair. They are so much more absorbent then the mixed fibre towels. Less hairdryer heat as well as easier to handle when styling as the hair is damp not overly wet. ❤️

Melissa D: Hey Brad, I wish you would do a video on different types of dandruff and what are some helpful products! Is it true that some dandruff shampoos can make you lose your hair or cause thinning hair? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Sarah: I would love to see a series where you “prescribe” someone with a hair care routine with products suited to them and show the results at checkpoints like a day, a week, a month and then an overall before and after! Some examples would be someone with thin, oily, bleached hair Or something with thick, curly, colour treated hair I’d particularly like to see my hair type which is oily, fine, bleached, naturally wavy with hardly any volume at the root. I’ve never been able to tame my waves so they aren’t frizzy and kinky.

Jessica Tepley: “ oh my god! that was so easy! AND I’m never gonna think about it again.. but no I’m here to tell you think about it more” BRAD your existence makes my existence just that much brighter! You make my day ALL THE TIME! I hope you see this! you’re making a difference in people’s life just being yourself you deserve to know it! FACTS THOUGH BRAD btw I aced you’re class *hair flip* hehe and i have had my fair share of haircuts horrible ones from hairstylists which kept me away from any hairdressers and trimming to my own hair two playing with colors normal ones when I was younger and then the last almost 2 years playing with the more fun colors natural Sicilian curly dark brown hair so I did have to bleach initially but I stuck with semi permanent colors and I never re-bleach which I knew before you but you never fail to let us know do not bleach bleached hair!!! AM I RIGHT LOVES!

Gracie Lu F: I love how he literally hits EVERY concern related to hair washing, nothing was over looked

Heather Hansen: This video totally made me laugh but was super informative. I’m trying to grow my hair out long and I started thinking hair washing can help that. Anyways, thanks for the super fun and informative video ❤️‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

Natalia Pinto: First of all, I love your videos! They are truly inspiring!! Secondly, I have a question. What are your thoughts on co-washing or using conditioner instead of shampoo?

Chronically Killing It: We didn't even get a "Hey beautiful" he just sat down and started schooling our asses.

jannelle nelms: Oh my gosh I had probably the worst day today and night in a long time and without fail Brad brings me not just knowledge butexpected laughs and a great wish he was my bff

green cat: I used to wash my hair every second day, wanted to do it less for a very long time, but did not want to run around with oily af hair. So I just shaved it all of and went directly to washing it once a week. 10/10 Can recommend.

Claudia Perez: Brad Mondo is so awesome, and I’ve learned so much from him about hair care and coloring thank you so much!

Danielle Oatway: I never expected to actually gain so much knowledge from watching this video. I’ll admit I was way too cocky thinking I knew how to wash my hair, considering I’ve been doing it for 38 years but nope. I’m so much smarter now…you never disappoint Brad Mondo NEVER!

SummerChild: Me: Answers everything correctly Also me: Not doing anything right

D Ocean Swiger: I find My hair has gotten thicker since I'm not shampooing it all the time. In fact, Its been about a month that I just let warm water clean it, then i follow up with a little cooler water, but not cold. It works fine. I got pretty much all the answers, yay. I suffered from hair loss for a while, it's still a bit thin, but coming back!

Lori Ru: How in THE WORLD did you make this so entertaining? Loved it. ❤️

Emmie Davis: So I will definitely be buying your shampoo and conditioner. I am currently using olaplex no. 4 and 5. I am super excited to get through it to try yours... But I use the correct amount of shampoo(also I wash my hair once a week) so it may be a couple months but still.... Soooooo excited. I love you!!! Love your videos. I literally watch them all day long

33goodwitch: THANK YOU!!! I have hip length hair and I wash my scalp only, it is all that is needed! Good to know I have been washing my hair correctly:)

;Mersadie): "Dont buy the cheap 10$ shampoo!!" *me hides my 1$ suave sun riped strawberry scented shampoo before he sees*

Mary Ann C: This is 9 months later but I have to tell you this video helped me So Much. I started only washing my roots after this abs it made all the difference in the tangle/breakage factor. Thank you!

Emma The Enigma: Question: If I've been swimming, should I very gently wash the ends of my hair with shampoo to get the chlorine out? Or still no?

Isha Gujraz: I love the way he says don't run your hair with your towel I've been following your tips ❤️❤️

granola: This really works, I noticed that in the shower when I followed these tips, my hair ended up much softer and good-looking than before!

evie.l: Brad: Wash your hair gentlyyyyyy Every hairdresser ever at the salon: *rubs head super hard when washing it and breaks ur neck*

Maren: I feel like the suds help spread the product around better, when I use shampoo with no suds it feels like it just stays whenever I put it in my hair and I can’t spread it around lol do you know what I mean?

nicole: he explains everything so clearly and honest i love it

M Far: How do you feel about dry cutting for curly girls? I’m embracing being a curly girl, but find that color is an issue for me, as some of the shampoos that are safe for curls, don’t protect color. I need to use permanent color! Can you do a video on curly hair? Specifically, how to wash & set and which products are good for us, what to stay away from & other helpful hints. This will really help me live my extra life!

Anna Päivikki: When Brad saved your scalp by guiding just washing your hair right.

Daisy Salazar: Trying to glow up before school starts: Me: starts binging Bradmando for healthy hair and Hyram for acne

Mounira Khan: Brad Mondo and Hyram are the two people who honestly have saved my life

Kristina “Christy” Marquez: I tried washing mine after 3 days. My hair does not like that! I need to wash mine every other day. If I go three days or more without washing it it looks like s***! The Roots will be oily & the ends dry. Sometimes the ends will be Oily to, it just depends. I like how my hair looks better after I wash it. A lot of other hairdressers will say, you got to get used to it! I'm like there's no getting used to that lol! I do hair & have been over 20 years. Everyone is different & it's cool that we can do what is right for our hair. I love your videos! Keep them coming!

hcapistran: If I dyed my hair to a "fantasy color" (aka: blue, pink, purple, green, you get the idea) I've heard washing my hair once a week is the best to be able to keep the color and the hair healthy. I do lots of dancing at dance studios and I always end up drenched in sweat. I always want to wash it right after I get home from my super sweaty sessions but then I get scared that it might not be the best thing to do because of the hair color. I never know either if only using water for the hair would help with the sweat situation, because it means I can't have a nice looking hair every day (and I mean how it looks like after washing it properly and drying it/styling it, etc kind of look). Any recommendations for that kind of situation? (My current size of hair is "long" for a guy - kind of reaches from the front all the way to my lips, and the back and the sides follow along just a little longer)

Hannah Kagalwala: Hey Brad, how many times do you wash your hair after you've applied oil? Also, do you apply oil to all the hair or just the scalp?

Morgan Bowyer: Brad: “wash your hair with lukewarm water” Me: puts water on exploding sun

L. B.: I love how he just scolded me into buying some good shampoo... I legit feel shame. Why am I making these life choices? Where are my priorities? I need to embrace life and show gratitude for the things that truly matter. I NEED TO TAKE CARE OF MY HAIR!

Gomba13: I disagree about cheap shampoo. There are exceptions. I like the Nivea Micellar line. It isn’t dirt cheap but it’s in the lower range. It is great for fine, oily hair that needs frequent washing (my ideal frequency is every day and a half, and yeah, good luck with that). I checked the ingredients, and it is a rather simple formulation and contains nothing noxious. It has improved my hair and I can now get away with washing only twice a week, using a bit of dry shampoo on the last day before I wash again. But yeah, otherwise, most of the cheap shampoo is really good at cleansing the hair while also burning it. Be careful: expensive absolutely doesn’t mean high quality. There is some really expensive poison out there, too.

iylawastaken: i wash my hair everyday- i live in florida and i’m constantly sweaty and my hair gets oily. like brad said, it depends on you. it’s a common misconception

Nnyv: Okay, I know you're only supposed to shampoo the scalp, but what about conditioner? I've been focusing conditioner from about the midpoint to the ends of my hair first and then whatever is left goes up to the top of my head. Also, should we be using the same amount of conditioner as shampoo?

Auby Os: Alternative title: Brad mondo calls you out for 18 minutes straight

Aarju Chaudhary: Hey Brad.. Watching your video was really helpful.. I have one question, should I dilute my shampoo with water while using? Will it make any difference?

Elissa: Truly a great video and changed the way I wash and dry my hair! I do wish you went more into detail about how to condition your hair… like how much to use, what part of your hair to put it on, and such…

Marie Molloy: I know you said luke warm water for shampooing but I heard that a cool rinse is better for conditioner so it doesn´t melt and wash away the moisturizing ingredients in the conditioner. Does it matter? I love all of your videos!

Cheye Howe: So I used to shampoo my hair every second day because my hair was dependent on it and would get super duper greasy by the end of day two. This past year since covid has kept me from leaving the house as often, I've taken it as an opportunity to train my hair. I'm on day 4 today and my hair looks great (with some light dry shampoo usage). I will be washing it tomorrow though. On average I'd say I wash my hair twice a week now.

Stellax.b: at this point I don't even know if I'm breathing correctly...

Magz r: I'm happy I got all the questions right yay! I can sit on my hair so I might have more knowledge lol!

Mary Manzoni: Hey Brad, how often should you exfoliate your scalp and should you use an exfoliating brush? Thanks, love your videos

Kinga Domokos: The way your hair looks also depends a lot on what you eat, what you drink and how you think ❤

Svetlana Lavrek: Hi :) I have a couple of more questions: 1) shall I shampoo 2x when I wash my hair or only 1x? 2) how deeply shall I rinse away my conditioner/mask? Thank you so much for your tips :)

Jeannette W: "Your ends do not produce oil. That may be surprising to some of you." Me to my ends: You guys surprised? Ends: crunch crunch crunch Me: Didn't think so.

B Anderson: OMG you are funny! This is a GREAT video - thank you! heck I was definitely doing some things wrong, but now... I'm on it! I'll be changing up how I wash my hair moving forward. Great tips!

ariisdangerouswoman: I wash my hair every 2nd day which seems to work, again everyone is different! Also I just switched up shampoos since “head and shoulders” ain’t working for my dandruff, what should I do? (Dandruff runs in the family btw)

Leah Bailey: I’m trying to train my hair from a daily shampooer to every week. How long would this take to get the oils to decrease, or what’s the process?

Šárka Motyčková: Thanks a lot Brad for highlighting the issue of not putting your hair under turban! ;-)

Riley: “Don’t put your hair up in a turban” me: takes hair out of turban

KA 71: Thanks Brad, I've been losing my hair this helps so much, the only thing I've done is discontinued to wash hair but yes it does get oily asf

Nora Kirkland: Brad saying don't put your hair in a turban in can cause traction alopecia Me: searches traction alopecia up Realises I have been recking my hair for the past two years by putting my hair in tight braids, ponytails, and hairbands constantly

Carola Nagel: don't use circular motions to wash your hair, but side-to-side motions - this solved my eternal problem with long fine hair that seems to tangle like hell at even the slightest opportunity. I got all the other steps right, but this one finally completed my hair-care routine. and I thought I knew how to wash my hair... turns out I didn't. thank you so much for sharing those tips!

kimichan5: I have very oily color damaged hair that I’m trying to grow out. I will definitely use your advice on the water temperature and how to lather while I’m washing the shower. Can you also tell me or recommend good brands for my hair type?

Louize Lapira: What he said: - wash with lukewarm water - scrub hair gently side to side - SUDS dont do anything - wash your scalps ONLY - 2 dime size amount of shampoo - focus on parts that are most oily - 3 mins. for conditioner - do not take your towel and scrub hair after washing it - scrunch hair with towel - do not put hair on turban after washing - follow up with hair care routine

Jasmine Klein: thoughts on how often you should wash your hair during the summer or after excersing when you are sweaty?

Fran Downs-Wheeler: I can usually go about 4/5 days, but if my hair is getting really oily I’ll try and have a break and make it to a fortnight (helps to do this when you’re on holiday), which can be a bit of a reset. I can tell the difference immediately after, then I can make it a week easily.

Mini Snakali: Brad: You probably don't think about it Me: why is washing my hair so hard?! What is the right way!? It keeps me up at night my hair hates meee

Deb Eight One Three: Anyone who has hair has washed their hair when it’s been full of product or dirt/oil knows that sometimes you need to shampoo more than once. The second shampoo will make more suds. The suds might not be responsible for cleaning your hair, but lack of suds can absolutely be a sign your hair is not yet clean. And I just need to add to the lather topic- the hair dye/bleaching videos you react to and never fail to get mad because they’re ‘trying to make bubbles’ or whatever- I feel like you must know they’re just dispersing the product right?

Astrid Van Prooijen: Me: *just took a shower* Brad: I also wouldn't put your hair in a turban Me: *slowly takes turban off before he sees*

Gomba13: I comb through my hair before taking a shower because my hair is prone to tangling because it’s very fine. It makes a huge difference. I also stopped vigorously towel drying for the same reason: I gently wring my hair out first and then wrap my head in the towel and press it into my hair to let it absorb the water from near the scalp, and then gently wipe with the towel only downward (in the direction of cuticles) along the length. Then I comb and make my separation, and simply air dry because heat is bad for fine hair. I tease a bit with my fingers to lift it as it dries.

Stephanie Sasso: Thanks for these tips!! I should try them in the shower! I got most of the questions right too!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Raven Sutcliffe: I'm from Spain and I swear if I spent 10 euros on a shampoo most people would think I've gone insane what??? Maybe the stuff they're allowed to put in it in the US is different? (Also you can tell someone knows what they're doing if they're talking about hair, and their own hair is bleached white and yet looks perfectly healthy, holy moly)

Hailey Marie: I teach swim lessons so I have to wash it some sort of way at least Monday-Friday since I’m trying to get the chlorine out. But I’ve started to use a co-wash and focus on just rinsing it the chlorine out. It seems to have worked so far. ‍♀️

Ivy Nguyen: When he called out all the girls that scrubbed their hair with their towels I felt attacked. When he said "Calm down Brittney" I died because HOW DOES HE KNOW?!?!?!?!?!?

Elissa Nozicka: Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with a lot of hard water build up on the hair from the heavy minerals from your rubbing water at home? I have used Malibu a mineral removing shampoo, which has helped, but I don’t feel like I’m getting the right balance. I feel like oil control is better now, but now my hair feels dry

Merge Il: Brad Mondo is the only person I will ever trust with hair tips

Lisa T: so, what ingredients should we look for in shampoo or conditioner be it a $5.00 or $25.00 bottle? and which should we avoid at any cost?

Kathy eaton: When using your vegan hair mask do I put it on dry or wet hair and how long do I leave it in. Thank you Brad for your tips.

Jessie Santos: I need a brad mondo app. That tells me what I need to do with my hair.

sydney swearengin: First time watching your videos and I'm now a subscriber your educational and I love your personality...great job dude

WildKat25: I have 3 feet long hair and whenever I get asked about how I keep my hair so smooth, silky, and long I always respond that I wash it once a week (2 times shampoo & once conditioner) and I always get a horrified look. Seriously, Dermatologists don't suggest you do a full body wash with soap more than once a week because you disturb your skin's protective biome. You can rinse yourself off everyday if you stink or sweat excessively, but a shower everyday isn't better for you than once a week.

Ally Sun: But what about if you pre-condition your hair before washing? I pre-condition it sometimes with avocado oil on the bottom third of my long hair. I have to wash it out of my ends or it will be greasy. I'm glad I'm behind my computer so Brad can beat me up :)

Carolina Muschalek: What about conditioner? Do you just apply it to your scalp as well (and very little of it) or do you use more product and apply it to the ends as well?
