Testing New Hair Care - What Works?

Since having Emorett, my hair has been on a roller coaster ride from so much hair loss, extra oily scalp and hair that isn't as manageable. Right now I'm in the process of retraining my scalp and hair to go four to five days in between hair washing. Because of retraining, I really needed to find a good clarifying shampoo to help clean the hair product buildup from so much extra use of dry shampoo on my scalp and hair. I've been using these new hair care products since the initial first impression and I've really been enjoying my hair and it's not as oily and I don't need to use as much product like dry shampoo to keep my oil levels at bay. What are some of your favorite hair care products you've been testing?

XO,

Hi, and welcome to my channel! I am a Beauty Addict and love to create how-to beauty tutorials for short hair and hairstyles, Fashion, and some dry humor parodies. I try to make my videos informative, creative and most importantly entertaining.

I love interacting with my viewers. Let's get to know each other.

Love, Milabu

It looks extra shiny. Today, I'm gon na play with new haircare.. I hope you guys are all doing well. So let's just jump into it. First product is by the brand Aquis.. This is their Number One, Prime. This is their water, defense, prewash, and I love how they said'' Truth. Wet hair is weak hair'', which is totally true.. The reason why I picked this up was because of what it says: it's a pre-wash that you spray in your hair, a couple of minutes. They say even for longer and let it sit on your hair before you get into the shower, and then you wash it out towards the end of your shower, which is very fascinating, they're, not saying you should shampoo or condition afterwards, but today I really want to Use this and see what this is all about.. This is a pretty big bottle., So you spray it in your hair. It smells actually really good.. It smells very fresh and clean.. So it says you spray evenly on dry hair before you shower or wet your hair. With the focus on dull or damaged area., So kind of focusing I'm gon na be focusing kind of like right here, especially because this is all like new hair growth. I don't have as much damage at the very top, So what this Aquis? Prime Number One does it brings your hair to its natural pH balance before you wash your hair.. It makes your hair stronger from the inside out and protects your hair from water and heat damage, preventing frizz and fly aways, and next it properly balances the oil levels and cuticle health for optimal hydration and then last but not least, it's a lightweight product that protects And enhances your hair's natural body without weighing it down., I mean all of those sound incredible and I'm very excited, and this was under $ 30. I believe this was 26, which seems very expensive, but this is 12 fluid ounces and I'm not sure they don't really say you have to use it every single time before washing your hair. So maybe like every couple of weeks, depending on how many times you wash your hair, every week., I'm trying to now wash my hair every four or five days I kind of I'm trying. This is day five right here with lots of dry shampoo. So I'm really hoping that I don't have to use it like every week., We'll see if it's super great, I might keep using it, but I like that, it's a pretty big sized bottle in comparison to like something like this. And then next I will be using A clarifying shampoo in the shower, because I have so much product buildup from retraining my hair and scalp'cause. It'S so oily from postpartum, and this right here is the Moroccanoil Clarifying Shampoo, and I liked that it's color safe and they also recommend to use this before. Getting your hair, done. Emorett is liking all of these products, so far., Because it really kind of helps bring your hair back to its natural state without all the product buildup and I'm very excited this one had really really great reviews. Let me just quickly see how much this cost me. This right here is $ 26, and the thing is you don't use a clarifying shampoo, every single shampoo wash you use it like every two to three weeks, depending on how much product you use., For example, if You use a dry shampoo like every other day, then yeah I'd probably use this every two weeks, but if you use it like, maybe once in a while here like if you use like leave-in conditioners different kinds of products, you don't want it to just sit on Your hair and scalp maybe use it every three to four weeks very excited., And then I also picked up a new Aquis. Prime Towel., You guys know my obsession with these.. They are expensive, but because it's for your hair, you can use them over and over again. You just wash them and you just use them - and I just like to have backups just because to get a new print. This right here, retails for $ 30.. It does seem super expensive, but the thing is it's strictly for your hair and I do find that it really dries my hair down like 50 %. I just like how lightweight it is. It feels good on the hair and I think it looks super cute, and I always know that I have something there for my hair.. I like drying my hair with something besides like a regular towel.. This is called proprietary, Aquitex fabric, gently wicks, water away from hair to fight friction, frizz and breakage.. Oh so it's 80 % polyester and 20 % nylon.. Maybe it's just in my head, but I really feel and see a difference with these towels.. Let'S go wash my hair now that this has been sitting in my hair for around five to 10 minutes. After using the clarifying shampoo, I'm going to use this right here, the Briogeo, Don't Despair, the honey, moisture, deep conditioning, mask. I've heard so many good things about This I'm really excited to try it out, because I really like the original one, Their Don't Despair, Deep Conditioning Mask, so I'm really excited to try the honey version., I'm out of the shower, and now I'm ready to prep my hair.. I did my makeup while my hair was in my turban, it feels great.. Now I'm gon na take it off and it's nice and damp and it's not soaking wet. As you can see, ooh my hair looks good.. It looks extra shiny. Wow, I'm gon na prep. My hair, using this new IGK, their Good Behavior 4-in-1, Prep Spray. This is a detangler, it's a 24 hour. Frizz control and a 450 heat protection, 450 degrees Fahrenheit heat protection and gives you shine.. If you're new to my channel or if you're new, to my stance on heat protectant, I don't believe in them., I don't believe in just a separate heat protectant. On top of your detangler spray, your shine spray, I feel like you, can just use an all in one.. You can use something like this, also like a bonding oil, just something to coat your hair before you put some heat on the hair like hair drying hairstyling like a hair, straightener curling, your hair things like that. I, like things like this, like a good all in one spray like a detangler frizz control, heat control, all of that. [ Andrey ], Not against heat tools, though., Not against heat tools., I'm not gon na use too much, and then, of course, my new tangle. Not my new ..., my super old tangle teaser. Wow., Either it's the spray, that's detangling, the hair really easily and effortlessly, or it's all of those products that I used before this, because my hair feels great and it looks great., I'm so happy. My hair started to fall out less and less. My hair looks really good. It's extra shiny for some reason. Maybe it was that prewash, the clarifying shampoo. Maybe it was the hair mask.. My hair feels really nice right now and it feels lightweight. It doesn't feel weighed down., I'm gon na use my Dyson Airwrap to dry my hair out or smooth it out and we'll be right back to talk about the products. What I think about them, what I like about them, what I don't like about them., Let's do it. My hair feels very soft, very lightweight.. I wouldn't say it looks extra shiny, especially with this right here. I was kind of worried that I would just look like glitter'cause a lot of times if it's like a shine spray, if you spray it into your hand or your palm, you can kind of see little specks of glitter or some kind of sheen on it.. So I'm really liking that my hair, it looks really good.. I like that. It'S not super shiny where it looks slick oily, but I like that, it's very lightweight since I did use a very deep conditioning mask.. I really like that. All right. So, let's quickly talk about what the first experience was. So with the pre-wash spray, I think it's a very intriguing. I think it's really awesome. I wan na look more into it. I wan na see if it's really good for people That have hard water. That'S really interesting because I grew up on hard water and you could get a lot of buildup on your hair and it kind of changes. The pH of your hair. I think that's a really cool spray. I definitely wan na leave it a lot longer. I left it in for, like roughly 15 minutes., I wan na try it on for at least like 45 to an hour, see if that's really gon na make a difference.. Once you put water on your hair with that prewash, the hair felt really soft.. It definitely felt a little bit coated, but it didn't feel extremely siliconey on the hair. It felt really nice and I think it might've helped with the clarifying shampoo, because every single time I use a clarifying shampoo, my hair, my scalp, feel really squeaky clean, where it's kind of hard to put your fingers through your hair, which I understand because it's trying To strip off all that buildup and just clean your hair and your scalp, and I think I did a really good job. Honestly, I was looking at my scalp feeling, my hair and after I used the clarifying shampoo, I washed it out.. It felt very kind of it felt very light, but also it felt like I had so much hair.. It felt like I used a volumizing shampoo, which is very intriguing.. After the clarifying shampoo, I went with the honey, deep conditioning mask and first of all that mask smells so good, and once you put it onto your hair, you can feel it right away working and it just kind of coats. Your hair coats, your strands, and I left it in there for at least two minutes kind of did my thing and washed it out, and then it just felt very clean and just felt like very, very silky and just very moisturized. And then using the towel. I left the towel in for the entire time that I was putting my makeup on and then I took it off and we use the IGK. One thing. I do wan na say with this. I do like the smell. It'S not too intense. It'S not. You know. Sometimes hair products they have like a really intense smell where it just lingers. This is really nice, I think very, very nice, very kind of mild scent where it doesn't just like right now. I can't really. I can't really smell it as much in my hair.. I do like that it really detangles really well.. I don't know about frizz control, we'll see as the day goes on, but I think so far the hair looks really good.. I just did kind of like a rough dry and I think it honestly looks pretty decent. And then with the heat protection. You guys know my take on that and shine.. I think definitely my hair looks shiny, but it looked extra shiny when I took the hair out of the towel., So I'm thinking everything kind of had a play on my hair today. Alright, you guys, I will try to do one more update tomorrow and see how my hair kind of behaves today and then tomorrow and see if it feels like it's gon na get weighed down if it gets oily. Really quick or just looks really good and just lasts really well., It's the next day, and I said I wanted to see how my hair looked and felt with all the new products. And it definitely looks I would say, like day, three hair. And it's day two.. It'S definitely feeling a little bit heavy like right here, especially. When I'm kind of flipping my hair around you can kind of see it gets stuck in some areas. And that's when I know my hair is getting oily and I need dry shampoo., Like you see that How it's separating like that, Usually when it's fresh and clean it would just kind of be flowing just you know it won't get stuck in like pieces like chunks and it looks kind of wet.. So it's definitely looking a little heavy and it feels a little heavy.. But it feels I would say great from here on down.. I think the rest of the hair looks great.. It is looking a little bit oily right, here.! That'S where I took off the makeup, the skincare. I like to sleep on my side.. So you know my hair is kind of doing that when I sleep., But I'm pretty happy with it., I'm still retraining my hair to go for at least four to five days and not use as much dry shampoo.. So I'm really happy with how my hair is looking and feeling.. It still feels clean.. It feels like the scalp feels really nice.. It'S not itching.. So that's a huge positive sign in my book. Overall. I think a lot of these products most of the products that I talked about, are definitely looking into, especially if you have certain hair care needs., For example like this pre-wash spray., I think, is really interesting and very very fascinating.. I'M definitely going to keep playing with this., And I like that. The bottle is nice and big. It has 12 fluid ounces and a little goes a long way. I'Ve noticed. And my hair felt really good in the shower. And I'm definitely going to keep using this.. The next product that I'm really fascinated was the Moroccan Oil clarifying shampoo.. I think it did a fabulous job with clearing my scalp cleaning, it out. And my hair. It feels very lightweight.. I kept telling Andrey to touch my hair yesterday because I could run my fingers very easily. And it felt like the hair was separated really nicely and it felt very light. And yeah. I'M really excited to keep using that for every two or three weeks, depending on how much products I use in between for styling, my hair. And then obviously the towel. You guys know my love for those towels., That's just the new print that I got.. I'M definitely gon na keep using them just because they're incredible. And they're phenomenal at cutting down the drying time for your hair. Naturally, instead of using a lot of heat on your hair., The deep conditioning mask by Briogeo, the honey mask., I think it's phenomenal. And I understand why so many people love that mask.. The one thing is a little goes a long way, and I think I may have used a little bit too much for my hair.. I used like a good at least quarter-size amount for my hair, and I don't need that much just because my hair is really fine and because I lost so much hair, it's a lot. I have a lot less hair now than I used to., So I definitely need to keep playing with the amounts that I need to use for my hair., But I'm definitely gon na keep using that mask. Maybe every once to two times every two weeks. If that makes sense so.'Cause I want to shower less I'm probably gon na use it every other shower.. So yeah, I'm very excited about that. The IGK Good Behavior prep spray. I think it's actually really good.. I like that. It'S super lightweight. Again a little goes. A long way with this product - and I'm just really excited about a lot of these products., And I encourage you to check them out as well.. Alright, I'm gon na end the video here.. Please share your new favorite hair care products. You'Ve been testing out.. Why do you like them? What kind of hair do you have? What are you looking out of your hair needs these days, But for now you guys thank you for watching spending time, both with me and these new hair products and I'll see the next one. Very soon., Bye,

Welten Bummlerin: Using all new products together is not a very good idea- how can you know which product did enhance shine? It might be better to stick to your routine changing ONE product at a time. ❤️

Niki V: A little bit of constructive criticism: when you tests so many new products all at once neither you nor us have any idea which product helped or hurt. Which basically makes all the info in this pointless.

Sofia Karlsson: Would love a video where you try one at a time and see which one makes the biggest difference

Kimberley Mawson: Could you PLEASE do a video comparing different dry shampoos. Both drugstore and prestige?!?! I’d love to here you have to say!!

Ari S: I absolutely love briogeo’s scalp revival exfoliating shampoo and the don’t despair, repair conditioning mask! I have fine hair that gets oily fast. This stuff seems to help a lot. Makes my hair so soft, clean and light!

Kalisha J: I've had that IGK spray on my list for a while so I'm definitely picking that up. I'm interested in that spray because I love a good prewash although I call them prepoo's, lol. Thanks for showing these products!!

Holly J: I started using the Alterna caviar restructuring bond repair serum on my fine tangly ends and it works great. The scent is a little strong for my taste so I only use it on the ends. I use Bumble and bumble hairdressers invisible oil on the rest of my hair. The combo of the 2 seems to work really well. Pricey items though.

Jodi Bodell: I've been using the same Aquis turban for 5 years, worth every penny. Just bought a new one. I have naturally curly/wavy hair, very fine but lots of it, it really cuts down the drying time. My fave hair care brand is Aveda, especially the Colour conserve range. It's great on my dry ends and oily scalp.

Marjorie Thomas: Love your channel!!! Best of the year with hair and makeup would be lovely!!!! ❤️

patricia newell: I just watched this video for the first time. Something i noticed, if you have oily hair and buildup of products, the first shampoo will not lather a lot, similar to your shower portion of the video. when you blew your hair dry, the roots looked a bit stringy at that point because i don't think they were fully clean. Many shampoos or stylists recommend the 2 washes as first removes product, oil and buildup and the second ensures hair is clean and allows shampoo ingredients to work. this would also explain why the areas where you do not apply dry shampoo and the hair oils are least built up (mids down) felt nice where the roots felt heavy and oily and day 3 type hair.

jennysue 62: Have you ever used the DP Hue apple cider vinegar rinse? I have fine hair and try to only wash my hair with shampoo& conditioner once a week sometimes twice a week. The DP Hue ACV rinse is awesome and I use it between shampoos.

Peggy Terry: Nicole and Brizee!! My hair is fine but I have a ton of it. As I get older my hair seems to get drier and tangles really bad. Warning, the scent, especially if you don’t like Chanel #5 type scents, can be heavy. The shampoo and conditioner are really good but the leave in conditioner is AMAZING!!!!! I use it on wet and dry hair. I can go days between washings, no dry shampoo, and it looks like day one with very few tangles. Even if I spray more on dry hair, it doesn’t make my hair oily...just soft and flowy

Myra Marshall: I have fine hair but have a lot of hair. I bought a new Aquis towel and it came with a bottle of the pre wash spray. It has made a positive difference in how my hair feels after washing. I also use the Dyson air wrap to style.

Amanda Windom: I'm definitely gonna have to try the Briogeo honey mask. I have very fine, wavy hair and I've been loving the Amicka triple rx shampoo and conditioner and the Amicka keep your color shampoo and conditioner.

lisa prestidge: I really love CER 100 it’s a hair mask/conditioner I got off of Amazon after seeing an article on Buzzfeed and let me tell you it saved my hair, it use to be frizzy split ends and so dry this stuff saved it and gave me back my shine!!

Karen F: Having spent most of my adult life (age 12-60) washing my hair every day, I do not understand all the hating on it. I do not believe it is bad for your hair, I do not know a man that doesn’t do it. I now pushed it to 2 /2.5 days because during quarantine I let it grow. So now I just don’t want to wash blow dry curl etc every day it takes too long. I had always worn short to medium layered hair that was easy to wash dray curl etc daily. It was always take a shower wash my hair, now I have to avoid it in the shower I don’t like it. My hair is the same -texture- fine lots of -slight wave that does not hold - as it always was , and as many people including hairdressers find odd , I do not have gray, so I certainly haven’t washed the color out of it , I haven’t washed anything out of it ‍♀️

Debra A Humphrey: If you are reading this I found your channel and I really like it you are a calm soothing place to go to on YouTube with all the YouTube being quite loud and noisy with their brand of in your face contact. Y’all are a breath of fresh air. Thank you for your channel on YouTube by and have a blessed night and day

Sofia Kougia: I love your channel and when you do vlogs and especially now with your little boy Em. Please I hope you will make a vlog soon again. Love you ♥️

Aly: I’m a platinum blonde so hair care and health is an obsession and necessity for me to keep my look and hair health - so I’ve been playing with a lot of products. One thing my hairstylist and I had noticed is very dull, yellow hair that built up to the point where she couldn’t even tone the brass out. The key to that was actually avoiding purple shampoo (too much build up of the pigments) and avoiding hair oils. Also, oils with heat styling are probably bad - thinking about searing your food, you use oil.

Amanda Fairly Made: The living proof PHD overnight hair perfecter helps so much with bleach and oil. My ends are dry but I get oily and when I use the overnight perfector i can go longer without washing

linda nelson: After washing your hair what do you use before drying and when drying?

LA: I always have and always will ✌️ your vibe (Andre too of course, and Emorett IS APPLE FROM TREE lol Take care all From ️

Nelly Corona: What type of dry shampoo do you use? So far the ones I use they always leave me a white residue on my hair.

Tanja Bastigkeit: My all-time favourite is from lush.com the "jumping juniper". It really trained my scalp, so I only wash it twice a week. It's a shampoo bar and I need 1 year to use it til the end.

Nancy Kasik: I'm sorry I'm not onboard with washing hair every five days. I can't tell you how many times I've been in a store (pre-Covid) and standing behind someone in line or they came by me to look at something on a shelf and the smell of dirty hair hit me. Worst was in a beauty store, a lady very politely asked to grab something in front of me on a shelf, I said sure and stepped aside, then the smell of dirty hair hit me. It made me sick to my stomach. I understand people have different hair types but five days is too long to not wash something on your body.

littlemissmel88: Can you talk about how you retrain your hair? Any tips besides just not washing it and living in the oily itchy mess?

Andrea S: I recommend you look into fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.

Geydis oller: Hi Mila, I love you videos!!! I would like to know your opinion or your experience, if you have used it, about witch hazel for your face or to your hair.

patricia wheeler: i have dry, itchy scalp and found a shampoo called refresh.tried the one with ecualyptus and it was amazing.

Hoddle Services: Moroccanoil Clarifying Shampoo is my all time favourite clarifying shampoo. If you are looking for a good alternative that is a little less money aveeno apple cider vinegar blend is good too

Derrick Jennifer Watkins: If you try all new products at one time there is no way to tell what did what! Use your normal products and introduce one new thing at a time ☺

Dawnelle Wyman: To remove build up on hair plus it helps with growth once a week I mix baking soda with my shampoo works wonderful and it’s cheap

Rebe Ruth: Excited for this, love your channel

Andrea Rivette: Can you do something on Hourglass? Especially the ambient powders ... thanks!!

Jessica Wolfe: do you use the tangle teeter on your hair when its dry?

Melanie viljoen: Love ur honest view on products bc i have oily hair aswell

Sepideh Amini: Is it weird to ask you to make a video of how many hair strands you shed every day in a week? Cuz I really want to know how many hairs a woman she'd after postpartum

Tanisha Sinha: How can I make my hair look silky and soft every time?

Every Haircolor: Your hair looks so healthy here

RIZ: Will u be willing to test out function by beauty? you get to choice your hair type and stuff online

Rayna: Really wish you would address the predatory pyramid scheme business structure from your last video. But as we were all saying in the comments, we won’t hold our breath. It’s why ppl like smaller creators better. They stay true to themselves.

Charr Ski: I lose more hair if I don't wash my hair - I have to wash my hair daily and my hair feels better and less loss. I can't imagine going 2 days let alone 5 - that might be the problem

Sassy.daisy: Please do a video on the Loreal Wonder Water...very curious ...thanks mama!!

Jack: ❤️ your stuff. I have long curly 46yr old hair and I would ❤️❤️❤️ products that leave my hair light ,healthy &. shiny but mostly I’d ❤️ nice curls , not heavy ,crunchy or frizzy ...

Lillian Johnson: Watching this in my living room and I hear your little guy in the background thinking I'm hearing my son. Had to pause the video to make sure

Sepideh Amini: How many hair strands you shed on normal days and wash days now?

Kiya Evans: You do know that excessive touching of hair makes it greasy faster yeah? The oil deposits from your hands to your hair, accelerating grease and dirt build up. If you’re trying to stretch your hair between each wash, limit how much you touch your hair. (Which I know is hard when it feels amazing)

Brittney Duff: This is interesting!

Corine Hanes: T-shirts work just as well to dry hair......

Vanessa E: Are you also going bald due to postpartum?? Also i love you sweater! Where is it from???

Izzy: Moroccan brand is great

doha berray: Please do best haircair of the year

Ronda B: I love the sound of Em in the background!

Ellen Webb: I can’t find the Briogeo Don’t despair in Honey anywhere. I’m super interested in that product

Ashley Light: Don't try a lot of products at the same time, please. I personally didn't like that because you can't possibly know what works and what doesn't.

angellina fosse: Okay I heard 45 instead 4 to 5 and was like woh that seems a bit long?

Kat Willow: If you can try nought 97% natural hair care range

Ohemaa Serwaa Boateng yentumi: Love your channel is the best

Just Me: A bit useless using all products at once. No idea which was useful.

Erin C: I’m curious about the Color Wow Dreamcoat product. I don’t live in a humid climate and don’t have particularly frizzy hair, but people seem to swear by it.
