Finding that perfect, shampoo is critical, because without it everything else in your hair, routine breaks, even if you're a professional, stylist and know exactly what you're doing so getting the right shampoo could be the final piece of you finally making significant progress on your hair journey, but First, let's talk about how the wrong shampoo could completely derail you and it mostly comes down to having the wrong amount of hydration. There are so many people out there with fine and medium hair that are using a shampoo that has way too much hydration at them and no matter what they do as long as they use that shampoo they're never going to be able to get life and body And volume into their hair, it's always going to be heavy and product-y. It'S not going to feel good. It'S not going to be light fresh and volumous they're stuck washing their hair way too often going through shampoo way too fast wondering how other people are able to go days between washes every time they style their hair. It just stays flat. They wonder what they're doing wrong, but really it's just the shampoo. On the other hand, some hair needs that type of shampoo that has heavy hydration. Otherwise, their hair is dry and frizzy, and if those people don't use a shampoo with heavy moisture, no matter how they style their hair, it's always going to be unmanageable. It'S going to be dry, it's going to be frizzy instead of sleek, smooth and looking healthy and don't even get me started about drugstore brands. If you are getting your shampoos at the target, hair aisle, you are setting yourself up for disaster, even if you're doing everything else right. That'S because those products are super super cheap and in here you get what you pay for. It'S not like makeup. We can find really cheap brands that essentially do the same thing. For the most part, the ingredients in makeup aren't that expensive. So you can find those cheap duplicate, brands and they'll work. Just fine but hair products are different because they rely on making chemical reactions and you can't fake a chemical reaction. You need ingredients that are strong, pure and not watered down, or else you're not going to get good results and drugstore brands are super watered down, so they don't actually work very well they're going to leave a layer of oil and build up on your hair that Layer, buildup is going to block any other nutrients or products from actually reaching the hair and getting results. Imagine shampooing with your pantene your milkshake, your kristen s, whatever it is, and you think you got your hair clean, so you go in with your conditioner except the conditioner doesn't do anything because it can't actually reach the hair. The hair is coated in oil and build up that way. The conditioner never reaches the hair, no nutrients get to the hair and no moisture gets to the hair. It'S a complete waste that is not how you get healthy hair. You get healthy, hair with professional shampoo. A lot of people think it's too expensive, but if you get the leader it only comes out to 3.50 cents a week. Anyone watching this on their smartphone can afford three dollars and fifty cents a week for healthy hair. If you don't care about hair, that's totally cool, but i have a feeling if you're watching this video, you care about hair and it makes no sense to spend money on a bag or some cute outfit, but not spend money on your hair. So you walk around with your hair, looking all unhealthy, but you have a bag. You have a nice outfit. You might as well pay that 3.50 to have nice looking hair too, because it goes with every outfit. So now that you know the right, shampoo can completely set you up for success and the wrong shampoo can sabotage you. Let'S talk about the best ones. First of all, i want to completely change your mindset on shampoos. Most people come to me and say chris. Is this a good shampoo or a bad shampoo, and that is completely the wrong way to look at this? That'S the same as asking what the best pizza is. Some people are going to tell you pepperoni. Some people are going to tell you cheese. Some people are going to tell you hawaiian, whatever it's different for everybody, so we need to find out the best shampoo specifically for you not the best shampoo for everyone, because it doesn't exist and the idea that somebody could walk down the shampoo aisle at target and Tell people which shampoos to get is absolutely ridiculous, it's much more nuanced than that, so let's get into it for each shampoo, i'm going to describe the type of hair that it's a perfect match for and the goals that it will help you accomplish. That'S how we're going to get you the perfect shampoo for your hair, alright, so number five will work for almost everyone. If you struggle with oil or go at least four or five days between washes, a clarifying shampoo will really really help you. My favorite clarifying shampoo is redken's cleansing cream. If you want to know more about clarifying shampoos, you can check the link right up here. This is super useful to cut through the oil and build up on your hair. It'S also really great for people who struggle getting their hair all the way clean. Two quick words of warning for this guy. If you struggle with dry scalp, stay away from clarifying shampoos and number two, you also need a regular shampoo to go with this. This is just a tool to help out: it's not your only shampoo. What you want to do is do your first wash with the clarifying shampoo second wash with your regular shampoo number four is olaplex, shampoo and conditioner. This is great for repairing dry damaged hair. If you went blonde, if you have a lot of damage, this is your guy, but one thing: no one talks about when it comes to olaplex is: this is only for repairing damaged hair if you do not have damaged hair, you do not want to use this At all another note on olaplex that nobody really says that it's very heavy, that's, okay! It'S a trade-off for repairing damaged hair, but if you struggle with oil, if you struggle with your hair, getting weighed down very very quickly and easily, you want to stay away from this. This is really better for medium and coarse hair. Number three is pulp riots, volumizing, shampoo and conditioner boston and singapore yeah. The names are a little out there and confusing, but they are amazing. These two are great for fine and medium hair, because it's a really light formulation they're also really really great for air drying. Hair, if you air, dry, your hair, you should really try these. These are going to give you the least frizz when it air dries, but at the same time, if you have coarse hair that needs that massive hydration, this is not for you. This is for fine and medium hair. If you have coarse hair wait, i got something for you in just a minute. These are also great if you have color in your hair, they're sulfate free, so they're gentle cleansers, so they won't remove very much color at all. Number two is moroccan: oils, moisture, repair, shampoo and conditioner. This is my favorite for coarse hair. That needs a lot of hydration. It'S also a really really strong cleanser, because if you have coarse hair, you should be going five or more days between shampoos. This will make your hair feel amazing, even on the first wash, because it puts so much moisture in your hair, but remember if you have fine or medium hair gets weighed down easily. You do not want this moisture, it will weigh down your hair and make it feel oily. This is for coarse hair. Only the number one shampoo is redken's volume injection. This is best for fine and medium hair and hair that gets blow-dried for volume. I'M a little bit biased because i don't think there's any way to make your hair look better than a great blowout. This is one of the few shampoos that will actually add volume to your hair. It actually puts an ingredient in there to give you a little bit more lift and body to your hair, which looks amazing, so this is great for blow drying, fine and medium hair. It'S also a great choice, because it's a very strong cleanser. That means it's going to get all the oil out of your hair, so you can go longer between washes. So if you struggle to get volume or if you struggle with oil, you know fine or medium hair. This is an amazing choice, but if you have coarse hair and you need heavy hydration, you don't want this stick with the moroccan oil. So congratulations believe it or not. You now know more than most stylists about shampoo. I have links to all the products in the description. If you have any questions, leave a comment and i'll make sure to get back to you. You

Blowout Professor: My Recommended Product List :) https://blowoutprofessor.tiny.us/yckfcfnx

L Bar: Finally a Hairdresser on YT that doesn't put everyone down, or acts catty, and only talks Shop. I love your Channel. I just subscribed. Thank you for your content.

My Stuff: I used to show dogs and learned that having a water softener and a purifier installed is so important. My daughter stayed for the holidays and was so shocked at how beautiful her and her girls hair stayed curled and cleaner. Check your city's yearly history for the water program. SHOCKING what they use to "clean" it!

Pakou Yang: The fact that I’m already using the Redken volume injection makes me happy that I’m using the right shampoo for my hair and me! My hair gets oily fast and has no volume so this works wonders for me!

Linda Peterson: I was a skeptic but I’ve been watching your videos awhile. I’m 47 with fine, highlighted hair and I’m feeling very pre-menopausal blah. I bought the redken volume injection shampoo (10 oz..I’m a skeptic) and used it this morning in the shower with your wash technique. Two washes…I’m oily. I used biolage conditioning balm (I love the smell and used it in the perm years..tell me it’s still fine?) and some OTC leave in conditioner spray because I couldn’t get the 10 oz matching conditioner. One wash and WOW. Just WOW. I put a drop of my rosehip face oil on my ends too before blow drying. I’m a believer now that I can actually have the hair of my dreams AFTER ONLY ONE WASH! Everyone….run to the store and get the products and follow his advice already!!! Just do it!! I’m speechless and I didn’t even follow all of your directions to a tee! What the hell was I waiting for and why did I wait this long?!? Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I’m about to binge watch all of your videos…lol

Maria Letizia Brusi: I actually bought one of the shampoo he recommended, the redken one, and omg such a difference!!!! The foam was just right, my hair clean but not overly dry . I really felt like I was at the salon in my shower ahah Thank you!!!

Alicia Salvato: I bought the Redken volume injection shampoo and conditioner based on Chris’s recommendation and his statement that this product has no sulfates and won’t strip your color. The Redken volume injection shampoo has no harmful parabens, it DOES have 2 kinds of sulfates which strip color. The shampoo is excellent, it smells amazing and my loose curls and waves are better than usual because the hair is not weighed down. It does keep my hair cleaner between washes. I will not be using this regularly, as it will strip my color and sulfates usually make my head itch.

carmen m Fernandez: I know you don’t love olaplex champu and conditioner, but for my chlorine-damaged hair, they work amazingly well and I only have to wash my hair twice a week. I’d been following your trinity routine for a month and my hair was in the best condition ever! However, I went to get a couple of highlights from a hairdresser the other day and she left my hair, particularly my ends rough af, so I have to start all over… thank you because with olaplex 3,4,5&6 I’m quickly doing okay again…

Yuri Botello: My favourite thing about the Cleansing Cream from Redken is that its not an agressive shampoo! And it removes chlorine and helps to battle against hard water. My hair is pin straight, medium-fine in texture, oily roots and I love the Moisture Repair from Moroccanoil! It doesnt weight my hair down at all.

Kris 22: Thank you Chris for sharing your knowledge with all of us!! It speaks volumes and shows your true passion for Healthy Hair!! I just found your channel and I love it!

janna mccullough: Thank you for a great video. You summed it all up very eloquently. Keep reinforcing the downfall of drugstore shampoos even if they claim to be Redken . These products are often expired or have phony ingredients .

HikariBeauty: Thanks for the recommendation! I have fine hair and it gets down pretty quick. I used to use salon shampoos incorrectly that I ruined my hair a lot, so I'm glad you have a clear guide on which shampoos to stay away from

Addy: Omg you're right. Idk why I always buy expensive luxury makeup but when it comes to hair, I feel like drugstore is adequate. Time to step up my hair game!

Amanda Loukatos: Um... I RARELY post a comment, so when I say that the Redken volume injection set has changed my life, it is not an understatement (+the pureology leave-in conditioner *chef's kiss*). Thank you!

Elisabeth Elaine: Just ordered the injection ones. Look forward to trying it. I've literally tried so many: Olaplex, Unite hair products, Native, OGX, hair smoothie, Indian Rice shampoo bars, vegamour, nubi, prose, etc. All of them start ok but after a month or so my hair goes back to being heavy and limp. The only one that didn't do that was unite, but I feel like there was more hair loss every time I took a shower with that one. So I'm really hoping this one will work and provide lasting volumizing results and will help my hair to grow and get thicker.

amycmw: Unfortunately pulp riot shampoo seems tricky to find in Canada, and I don't use Redken products. But, I'm really glad I watched this video because I didn't realize that milk_shake wasn't considered a professional shampoo, and I was thinking about picking some up the next time I was at my stylist's.

Leben König: Got the volume injection shampoo and conditioner, obsessed! Thanks for your videos ❤️

Vikki: I just found your channel and have been binge watching. I allowed my hair to go fully gray a few years ago and it has now grown out to shoulder blade length. It has always been fine and straight and is still fine though it does hold curl better than my brunette hair! I am doing two things right... using your top rated shampoo and conditioner for fine hair, the Redken, and using the leave in conditioner you recommend. My issue is this... you recommend not washing daily and my hair can definitely take that and I generally wash every 4 days or so. However, I can't wear it down after the first day because I have a terrible cowlick on my crown that goes crazy after I sleep in it. I know it can't be that uncommon a problem so do you have any recommendations for how to deal with it and be able to wear my hair down without rewetting and restyling?

becka j: I love this. I agree that better products are better for hair results. The issue I have is so much to choose from in the high end ranges

Kaida J: I'm contemplating on getting the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner because I've been bleaching my hair, and I've always had this 'halo frizz' thing going on even before that. I hope it works for me!

Sweet Marasme: videos are short, perfectly well explained, he knows what he is talking about and takes time to make sure we understand it all and he's not shoving up our throat things that we don't need. new subscriber :)

heidii: Olaplex was terrible on my curly/fine/thin hair. I'm going platinum blonde and have been using Redken bleach recovery - loving it so far. Makes sense why my hair hated Olaplex before - it wasn't damaged - so far so good bleaching but I'll keep it in mind if it becomes damaged.

J: Hello! Any ingredients that you recommend for damaged hair but at the same time greasy roots? I’m in Mexico and I can’t find some of these brands that easily/or are like crazy high expensive… Btw I just got olaplex no. 3 thanks to your videos and I LOVED IT! Feels so good to finally take care of my hair after so many years of neglecting it

Tiffany Rodriguez: Yes. I'm already using the right products. I love Redken. Redken volume injection, Redken leave in condition,( I will now get the pureology) Redken thermal protection and Redken big blow out. The only thing I'm missing is the oil and switch the leave in conditioner. So I'm going to get the dryer and the oil and leave in conditioner and I'llbe set. Thank you so much. I've finally got the right products that a professional recommends.

Tea time 💜: I used the redkin ph balancing shampoo, and it caused a lot of my hair to fall out. So I am very nervous about trying their brand again

K: I love the Kerastase densifique shampoo for my fine hair. It makes my hair thicker and fuller. It's the best for volume. My all time favourite ❤

0MissElizabeth0: *"Nice looking hair goes with every outfit."* Love it. I miss Thermasilk, it made my hair sooooo long and beautiful and shiney

Mary M.: New sub here. I've been binge watching your videos since you popped up on my recommended list. I have long, curly, unruly, graying, and frizzy hair that requires a lot of deep conditioning and styling product to tame so shampooing is something that I normally dread. Since watching this video, and the last that broke down the fundamentals in hair care, I'm actually excited about washing my hair. Thank you for breaking things down for us and keeping it simple.

Juliette: Is the Redken shampoo also safe to use for colored hair? And if not, do you have any shampoo recommendations for oily, fine colored hair? Love your content so far!

H L: Your tips have absolutely changed my hair for the better!! Even my husband has noticed how healthy it is! So happy I found your channel - THANK YOU!!

Jacqueline Smith: I have curly fine or medium hair. Struggling to find shampoo/conditioner. This video helped but still indecisive on which product is best for my hair. I do straighten my hair once a week.

Christina Bittman: I’d love a video on specific ingredients you look for in shampoos and conditioners. like which ingredients are good/which ones you’d avoid

Courtney: You have saved my hair! My moms hair type is completely different from mine. Hers is thin & fairly straight. Mines course, wavy/curly, & pretty thick so she tried her best, but didnt use the proper products for my hair type. But, finally, at nearly 30 i know how to, thanks to you! Thank you again!

Kim Shine: Since I've been watching you and applying your techniques my hair is so much healthier! Thank you!

Sophie h: Hey! First of all I love your straight to the point videos. I'm enjoying the humorous spin you put on the shorts too . I'm using Redken Extreme range (dark blue) for breakage and damage but I am worried it might be too dense in proteins. I hear great things about the Redken Acid Bonding range (white bottles) have you any tips on this for fine hair with a tendency to have greasy roots but my main worry is that my hair was super damaged after highlights in April. I have lots of breakage and hair loss and I hate the colour (too whitey/blonde) and my hair has thinned out loads. Thanks Chris for everything!

Avi Henriksen: hey! i love how clearly you explain everything, especially the differentiation between hair types. in this video, though, i noticed that you only specified one of these shampoos being sulfate-free - does that mean the rest do have sulfates? because the first thing i really heard about hair care was not to use shampoo with sulfates in it!

Jules: You are amazing! I've been doing all the things you recommend for my hair type and my hair has never looked better or been so healthy! Thank you!

That fangirl life l Kaya: Do you also have shampoos that you recommend that are fragrance free? I have an allergy for fragrance and I'm sure there are more people who want to know. I would love to know your recommendations because you give great advices!

Rebecca: I was using l'oreal fibrology, but it wasn't getting my scalp clean. I wanted to try something else, but I wasn't willing to give up the filloxane, which is the only thing that's given my hair life. Guess what's the major ingredient in Redken volume injection? Out to go buy a bottle now!

Kirito Kirigaya: Thank you for making these videos, they're helping me so much! I'm learning so much about how to take care of my hair because of you. I nearly got the olaplex shampoo and conditioner before watching your videos, and now I know I don't need it since my hair isn't damaged, and it would only worsen my problem (no volume on my roots) Speaking of that, does the redken volume injection shampoo only give you volume on the ends of your hair or does it also help the roots? I have medium hair for reference. Thank you so much for helping us who are so clueless in haircare!

linda portis: very informative as always Chris! I know you are the blowout professor but can you suggest the proper steps and products for one who does not use heat at all on their hair? air dry only please! thank you

Stephanie Z: Love your videos! Learned so much! I have fine/medium brown hair - I darken my hair a few shades darker than my natural color. Just bought Redken volume injection — it says suitable for color treated hair but does contain SLS. What are your thoughts?

Pilie: To be very honest, in France I have found 2 drugstore shampoos that work wonders for me ! They both are silicon free.

Jan Page: Just discovered your page what a find! I’ve used Redken on and off for years, I had medium fine hair, however I’m now 67 and have thinning hair particularly around the fringe and parting, and have been using Virtue Flourish, any advice you can give would be much appreciated, also I colour my hair every 4 weeks (at a salon). Many thanks Chris.

Kai Mitchell: I have medium hair I guess (dark asian hair) and I bleach and colour it, so I assumed that I needed shampoo that would add hydration, so most of the shampoos I buy are with that in mind. I also have a couple slightly more expensive ones that I bought just for a change and a treat, rather than hydration and I did notice that my hair feels good when I first use them but I thought it was because my hair was getting used to my old shampoo and the change was refreshing. After watching this video though I realise I hydrate my hair too much! That's why when I do use my shampoo, conditioner, serum etc my hair is flat and hard to style while the ends still feel a bit dry sometimes (I have also watched the video on hair oils etc so I'm up on that too) due to the fact I wash it too much, every 2-3 days instead of maybe 4-5. I am going to try to the tips I've learned today and see if it makes a difference to my hair and hair routine in general. Thanks!!

TJ: Thank you for all the hair information! I have fine hair & will be purchasing the recommended shampoo and conditioner. Currently I try to wash every other day because of the greesy look. I do have a question though. Should I use the clarifying shampoo as my first cleanse every time? Or should I only use it once a week? Obviously my goal is to be able to wash every 3-5 days, but I’m not sure if I should clarify with every shampoo. Please and thank you in advance!

Rita Aman: Thank you so mich, Chris! I alredy asked my hairdressers what to do to keep my hair fresh and not stringy like shives. They didnt know what I ment, wondered whether I dryed my hair really completely. So I try now the recommended products for thin hair. Although not everything was delivered I feel the difference on day 2! Thank you very much again and many greetings vom Germany, wishing a merry Xmas - Rita

Lauren: I've watched your video 2 days ago. I bought my professional shampoo today ( Moroccan oil brand) and Oh boy! What a difference! Thank you SO much! ( I'm a person that have a lot of itchiness and have reactions to a regular cheap shampoo hair looks like crap but not anymore!)

Yesenia: your advice is top notch, i was really struggling with my hair getting oily by midday thanks so much

Kaiyah Aguilar: I have super fine hair but a lot of it and it’s very healthy. The biggest issue I have is static. My hair is always so staticky and nothing ive tried works. I’ve noticed some shampoos make it worse than others. I don’t know what else to do. I use the redken volume you mentioned and I’ve tried so many others. Pantene is the only shampoo that has not made my hair staticky but I know it’s not good for my hair. I got 3-4 days between washes, I use a leave in conditioner and probably once a month I use a deep cleaning shampoo and follow with a hydrating mask because my ends get brittle. Still staticky. And nothing I do gives volume either. It just lays flat. I hate my hair lol. Only good thing is it’s soft and shiny (has zero texture and won’t hold a curl at all or any hair style)

spanfan3: I started using Olaplex shortly before I gave birth in the spring in an attempt to decrease postpartum hair loss and breakage. Would breakage from postpartum hormones justify a heavier shampoo like Olaplex or would another one of these recommendations be better?

Joanna Romany: Hi Chris! I really need your help! (Kinda desperate right now) I’ve been using Redken volume injection (shampoo and conditioner) for about 2 weeks now, and it made my hair way worse than it was before. It’s so dry on top and frizzy all over. Also the volume is kinda looking weird from the front (I have layers on the front) I also use Redken big blowout and olaplex oil number 7. Also using the same washing technique as you teach. Oh, and also using the Redken cleansing shampoo once a week! (My hair gets oily real fast) The purology leave in conditioner is still on it’s way (using my Femmas leave in conditioner till it arrives) Maybe the Redken cleansing, volume injection and conditioner, just aren’t for me? (I have ‘fine hair’, according to your quiz, my hairdresser said I have ‘normal hair’) Love to hear from you

Samanta Rizzi: That’s it. I’m getting the Redken Volume Injection shampoo and conditioner! I never tried anything from Redken before and I’ve been wanting to try this brand for ages! Thank you so much :)

Moraima Diaz: Hi! I'm loving your videos, sounds like the Redken volumizing will be the best for me but I have a question, I'm curious what you think about custom shampoos from brands like Function of Beauty, Prose, etc.

Cristina Lattuada: Great channel, love your advise. I would love to see advise for women who are choosing to go grey, who’s hair is thinning at the front thicker and coarser at the back . It’s a big and common problem in my age group. I’m still confused about what category my hair falls in. All I know is that in moist environments my hair goes very frizzy and in hot dry days it goes limp and doesn’t hold the curl. As I age, I am more confused about what to do with my hair, if I wasn’t all the way in Australia, I would go to your salon. Thank you for everything you post, you’re a very genuine person who really likes to help people.

Jean Wyka: Loved all the info. So glad to find some one who seems to be speaking the truth about the beauty industry. I would be interested in your thoughts on shampoos and oils for thinning hair/hair loss. Rosemary oil? Kitsch rice protein shampoo bars?

Jody Cushing: My mom was a hairdresser so I never had to go to anyone my whole life. Thank you for these recommendations as my hair is dry, brittle and will not grow.

yannie0101: Hey Prof. You recommend a lot of redken for fine hair but this brand isn't cruelty free- are there any CF alternatives for fine hair that's also blonde and damaged?

Squiddy: I’m still not really sure which shampoo I should use…I have fine-medium hair that’s oily at the top and dry everywhere else. I also have dandruff and my scalp can also feel dry at times even if it’s oily

Melanie Sankey: Thank you for the video on Olapkex I thought it was just me! My hairdresser says that my hair is in fantastic condition & to keep using the Olapkex. After seeing your video it describes exactly how my hair is, so I’m off to try out the Redken and when I’m in the US am going to get the Pulp Riot

Tonya Marlatt: I took the test and I have fine hair so I went and got everything he said and wow did I ever see a big difference and I love it the redkin volume injection

ReidandShane: Was wondering if you can do a video for 50 and older women who color their hair? Best oils and serums for colored hair and best shampoos and conditioners for colored hair.

Robbie: I just bought your No 1 shampoo - on sale at Ulta right now. Hope I like it lol!! I also have had good luck with Kiehls Olive Fruit Oil products. Having great hair takes alot of due diligence and consistency.

Ingrid Buland: Been obsessed with your videos, thank you so much! I do have one question to ask you. I have fine hair and most often I like to air dry my hair. So, naturally it would be the Pulp Riot line you mentioned. However, in Norway, you won't be able to get a hold of this brand. Therefore, I was wondering if you have any other shampoos you would recommend?

jundnia silkya: Hi Chris! I'm really sad all of the brands you mentioned in your videos, they don't sell it here in Indonesia, if it does probably will take ages to arrive. I hope you will have other hair care products that we could just buy them at the drug store which has similarity with the professional ones. I'm struggling to find a right shampoo for my fine hair, gets oily very quick. Thanks for all your hair tips! You are amazing

Elena Platanaki: I have medium wavy hair and I love the repair line from moroccanoil. It does not weight my hair down and in combination with the intense hydrating mask it saved my hair when I went to a salon and they bleached my hair to death I like to use a clarifying shampoo every 2 weeks thought I feel that makes the moroccanoil shampoo work even better on my hair. I tried so many different brands (redken, olaplex, briogeo, kerastase) but for my hair the moroccanoil products are the best so far.

Piczel: Olaplex dried my hair out and Morrocain oil weighed it down. I’ve spent so much on Shampoo and conditioners trying to find the perfect one. I like the brand viori. Have you reviewed the brand? They are available on Sephora now.

jonamic: I like your comment about saving on quality hair products and spending money on expensive bags and outfits. This is so true for people who are focused only on their appearance and trendy outfits.

Sug: Absolutely love your content, and the Trinity method Wow! Goes well with 1Corinthians 11:15. I teach this to my clients, maybe they’ll get it better when, I use the Word Trinity. Some have tried to skip conditioning and questions the leave in. But, I’m firm on both, I state make sure you make time for quality hair experience, your hair will thank you later. Thanks so much for awesome educational videos for Cosmetologists as well as Clients.

Rosemary Yates: Soooo...I picked-up the plump riot shampoo and conditioner from your website. You were out of the Redken heat protectant, but was able to get it online. I had Covid in July, and (despite the initial two vaccines and one booster) I got pretty sick. I lost a LOT of hair and I let my stylist cut my hair to my shoulders. A few days later, I found your videos. Now I am determined that, with your guidance, I will be able to grow my hair long and lovely. Just one caveat...watching your videos feels a bit like having a triple shot espresso. People need to watch responsibly.

Summer Elliott: Hey Chris, I love your videos. Would you recommend Redken volume inject for someone with a dry scalp? Also, I’d love to try the Pulp Riot Boston shampoo but living in the UK it’s hard to come by, do you know of an alternative? Thank you x

Anna Dennis: I have naturally curly hair that is very dry, but it's also very fine. I struggle to get volume, but definitely not oily. I typically blow dry and curl or straighten. Would you say Olaplex would be best?

Talisha: Really enjoying your videos! I just came across your channel yesterday. What would you recommend for someone who has natural salt and pepper hair (zero dyes)? I decided to go natural and I actually love my grey and brown hair colour, but my scalp is always oily and my ends are dry. My hair is also frizzy which I’m sure is partially because of the nature of grey hair with no pigmentation. I have a good amount of hair but it’s fine. Right now I wash my hair every 3 days, but it’s a stretch... I would love to go 5 days without washing it! Looking for the right shampoo and conditioner for me. I’m clueless when it comes to that! I like to air dry my hair but it ends up really frizzy and wavy. I don’t mind the waves but I don’t like the frizz at all. I’m not someone who likes to use products after my shower. I normally just air dry my hair, put a tad of hair oil on my ends and that’s it. I sometimes use a flat iron on low heat but not very often. I also seem to have quite a bit of breakage which is a little puzzling to me since my hair is 100% natural and I don’t use heat tools often. I’m wondering if using my shampoo bar on my head is making things worse for me. Thanks for your help!

Savannah Mancuso: Would you consider Jonathan Van Ness’s brand JVN professional shampoo/conditioner? I absolutely see a difference in the retention of my hair color when I swapped from drugstore Shea Moisture to JVN, but I’m curious what your opinion is! :)

Michaela Sun: I love the video. Thanks. But regarding Olaplex, there is currently a huge lawsuit against them. So I don't know whether it's safe to use. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.

Allison Langhill: I have just found your channel and I am learning so much. I’m curious what your thoughts are on the “Generic” line of shampoos and conditioners from Sally Beauty Supply. They are supposed to be affordable versions of Paul Mitchell and other brands. Thank you for your videos and keep giving great content!

Dana So: Thank you for mentioning that olaplex is just for damaged hair. Everyone seems to recommend it and I did not know if I should buy it or not.

ChelseaMueller92: You are so awesome. I’ve learned more from you in my life than I have from hairdressers/YouTubers. Thank you!

Mercy Anillo: First of all, I wanna thank you for making these wonderful videos, this is the 2nd I watch and I feel like I really have a lot to learn, I'm naturally blonde with oily, medium to thick hair, I've always had a lot of hair, A LOT!!, but a couple of years ago I decided to get highlights cause I wanted a lighter blond color, I started using the olaplex line because I wanted to protect my hair because of the bleaching, and let me tell you, BIG MISTAKE, after a while I started shading like crazy, but because I had so much hair I didn't noticed soon enough, I tried Kerastase too (the purple one), I've never used to many products on my hair before, but I though because of the bleach that it was necessary, none of those products were good enough, and they were really expensive!!! anyways I decided to go back to my old routine, I haven't bleach my hair in over 3 years, and I don't think I'll do it ever again, lucky me I only need to get some sun and my hair looks lighter and highlighted, (I know, I shouldn't had done any highlights, but I wanted to) but well I wanted to ask if baby shampoo is okay, it's what I was using before the bleaching, with a Salerm leave-in conditioner, and I think my hair was pretty good back then, by the way that's what I went back to, and I think my hair is getting better already, but I would like to know about the baby shampoo, I'm only doing it because I feel that it would be the shampoo with less chemicals in it, and that might be one of the keys to have healthy hair. PLEASE ADVISE!!!!!!!

Solveig: Could you make a video featuring shampoos for fine hair with little to no scent? Or even non floral scents? Thanks mom for my scent sensitivity lol

Shriya Bajpai: Thanks for making haircare so simple! I want to purchase products you recommend – I have medium hair and coloured. The Pulp Riot shampoos aren't available in the UK. Will I be okay to use the redken volume injection shampoo or will it wash out the colour? Which is your next favourite for medium and coloured hair? Thanks!!

Roos London: I still find it hard to choose, cause I have fine 2b/2c blonded hair that needs a lot of hydration but also weighs down easily... I was doubting between the last 3 products.

Pamela B: Moroccan moisture shampoo & conditioner dried my hair out. I was bummed because I love the scent. I have long, medium/coarse, porous, somewhat thinning hair. I’m 53. I need products with slip/silicones or it’s an automatic fail. My current fave is the Colleen Rothschild line.

Liz Day: Thanks so much! I have a follow up question: If I need to pick and choose where to spend money on hair products, what do I prioritize? To go off your makeup analogy, I shelled out for luxury foundation because it’s all over my face and I don’t have breakouts but then bought cheap mascara because it does it’s job. This video emphasizes the importance of good shampoo, but do I prioritize shower conditioner or leave in conditioner? Does thermal spray and hair oil have to be high end or will other brands do a similar job?

Tara Platow: I have used WEN for 11 years and my fine highlighted hair has grown down past my waist for the first time in my life. With the lawsuits, I have been scared of hair loss so I am trying to find some kind of shampoo and conditioner to use as an alternative. I looked on your site. I appreciate your candid advice and all the information. Have you ever tried out WEN and if so, what did you think?

Nancy Adams: Which one of these would be best for gray hair that is coarse/dry just because it's gray? My hair is not damaged at all by any blow drying or stuff being done to it but the gray has definitely changed the texture. I use the Redken Leave In and Olaplex Oil you recommend. Just not sure about the shampoo. I air dry and have medium texture so maybe the Pulp Riot? Thanks! Love your videos!

joyce rose thomas: I have been using dove for a long time until My hairdresser told me that i have fine long hair so wellla, Mitchell and redken are good choices. Wanted to know what your opinion is on that.

Megan Wilson: Wow!!! Just, Wow!!! Took the quiz, found my shampoo soulmate, got the leave in conditioner, & the oil, blow dried my hair w, the Revlon brush- incredible! My hair is clean, soft, smooth. I am so happy right now!!!

Donna Pittman: Recently just subscribed to your channel. Excellent product knowledge and easy directions to follow. Appreciate all the great tips. Have already purchased the pureology and redken blow out cream and heat protectant. Very pleased with the results.  I am 60yrs old, blond for 30+ yrs with fine thin hair. Thank you for such informative videos.

Star Chick: Hi Chris - would you please address the issue of fine thinning frizzy hair (menopausal). I used to have thick hair with lots of body & volume. I treat it with kid gloves, I.e. silk pillow case, microfiber towel - but as soon as it hits humidity I look like a cocker spaniel. Thanks

Peaches and Reads: Your videos have been so insightful and I'm so exited to start using some of your recommended products. Is it still recommended to buy professional products at a salon?

Minali Srinath: Hello! Thank you for these videos. The most useful hair tips ever - exactly what you want when you look for answers. I have medium type hair which is coloured and quite voluminous so worried that the Redken volume injection would add too much volume. Would you still recommend it or a different product?

Sonia Perry: Thank you for sharing your knowledge and advice, it is so helpful and I think I know where I have been doing things wrongly. I used to have luscious thick hair but now that I am getting older, I'm finding that I am losing a lot of hair and I can't get that healthy, silky look and shine to it anymore. As each day goes by it seems to get more and more frizzy. I want body to my hair, but not frizzy ends. So I have decided to completely change my hair tools, products and routine in the hope of getting better results. I have one question, should you stay with one brand for all the hair products or is it OK to use different brands together, for example, one brand for shampoo and conditioner and another brand for styling and another for heat protection etc.?

Sian McLaughlin: What’s the best shampoo to use if you have oily hair and dry scalp? I go about 5 days between washes, my hair is quite fine and gets weighed down easily

Xana K.: I feel like I have hair that doesn't fit the norms because my hair is fine. Yet it NEVER gets weighed down no matter what I put on it. It's actually always flyaway and frizzy even after I apply hydration. I don't know what it needs it's driving me nuts. It's healthy and changing to redken products has improved my hairs strength tremendously. But somethings missing and I'm not sure what.

em: Great videos! I have medium curly hair that is air dried but the pulp shampoo and condition isn't available in Australia for what I can tell. Is there an alternative you'd recommend?

Kim Demby: I watched your newest video on the correct way to shampoo your hair and found some helpful tips. It’s a little confusing when I see the shampoo recommendations since I thought the goal is to cleanse the scalp, not the hair. I would expect the moisturizing or damage repair to be a conditioning product. Shouldn’t shampoo rinse cleanly and not leave residue? How does adding moisture or oil cleanse the scalp? You mentioned in the shampoo video to not add oil to your hair before washing. Don’t these shampoo’s add what you don’t need? I have changed my hair routine by watching your video’s. I only use leave in conditioner and oil after I wash. It’s made a big difference in the moisture of my dry, damaged hair.

Julie Fannin: Thank you for suggesting Moroccan products. This saved my hair after Covid.

Sonal Bhardwaj: Great video, Chris and informative . I'm really interested in trying the Pulp Riot Boston and Singapore shampoo/ conditioner but it's no longer available on the link shared. Any recommendations on where to purchase it in Germany? Or an equivalent to this brand ? I'm quite motivated to try this . Thank you.

Mohamed Osama: I started working outdoors and my hair got destroyed because I get dirt all over my body and hair and have to shower daily but in only 1 week my hair feels like it's in the worst shape it's been in years. It's dry as hell. So is the rest of my body. But my hair especially is suffering terribly. I think I'm gonna get olaplex no. 3 based on your recommendation. And maybe I'll re-watch this shampoo video because I didn't know which one fit me
