Black girl, 4C hair. This is my story if I grew my natural hair, long thick and healthy, I'm 100 black and I have the hair that dreams are made of wasting my time after a long jog. I catch my breath standing in front of one of my neighbors houses. I love coming back to the neighborhood. I grew up in to visit my parents. I really loved growing up in this neighborhood, but I was the only girl with 4C hair in my classrooms and I was usually the only black girl period. Many of you have watched my hair struggles and triumphs over the years and I'm so happy to say that I have surpassed my hair goals completely and in this video I'm going to show you all step by step, how to grow long, thick, healthy hair and become The 4C Baddie of your dreams, I'm also going to show you a part of my meditation ritual, my meal prepping, and what I eat to grow, my natural hair, long, thick and healthy. You know me, I'm obsessive, organizing and I'm also going to take you shopping with me for hair products and Target and stay tuned to see how much growth I got from these five month old, braids and major news alert. I am done with long-term protective styling. I love having pretty hair and I don't care who's mad about it. Welcome to episode 4 of the 4C glow up. Okay! Listen to me right now, if you're ever wondering, why am I even protective styling? What is the point of protective styling? You are doing it. So that you can get to the point where you can wear your hair out and still retain length effortlessly - and this is my last major round of long-term protective styling - I've had these braids in for five whole months and I retained so much length. I am so happy about it and now I'm just wearing my hair freely. However, I want - and I literally get compliments on my hair every day. Okay, now that I'm done taking out the braids yay, I love that for me, I'm gon na go ahead and section my hair off and then I'm going to apply my deep conditioning treatment and I usually don't leave my braids in for this long, but I knew That I wasn't going to be long-term protective styling anymore, so I figured for the last round of it. I was just gon na like go as long as possible without taking my braids out and honestly. I am so glad that I did. I didn't get major break tickets and I was just able to retain a lot of length. So the next thing I'm going to do is mix up some olive oil into my deep conditioner. So I can get a really really intense treatment and after mixing that up I'm going to go ahead and take a little bit of that and apply it to a section of my hair. And I just go through Section by section and then after I'm done applying it to my hair, I just twist it up in order to lock in the moisture even more next, I'm going to go ahead and hit the shower and wash everything out of my hair. I'Ve been using this Herbal Essences, chamomile, conditioner and shampoo lately, and I love doing a knife, oil treatment and oil rinse in the shower. It just really nourishes my hair. So I highly recommend that, but be very careful, because oil is very slippery and, as always, romanticize romanticized romanticized. Imagine yourself with your dream here, while you're in the shower that way, you can manifest the hair of your dreams to yourself, while also partaking in the act of taking care of your hair, and it's just going to manifest it even quicker for you. I highly recommend it alright, so lately I've been talking about visualizing and manifesting your hair goals and on Tick Tock. I'Ve had a couple of people. Ask me to talk about spirituality and the things that I believe in and I'm not gon na. Go too deep into that, because it's just kind of really personal to me. But I am going to show you my routines. So one of the things that I love to do is go running and when I'm running that's one of the key moments that I really like to visualize and if you don't feel at peace when you're running or working out, then this may not be the perfect Time for you to start visualizing and manifesting, but this is a safe place for me, so it works very well for me to do it this way, whether I'm jogging in the neighborhood, I grew up in or am back in my apartment. I always make sure to find time to actually visualize and manifest and pray. It is so important to do these things on a daily basis. Okay, listen to me. There is energy in here. You can literally look it up, there's so many studies on how there's so much energy in here I love to have my hair down when I'm visualizing and manifesting it just really helps to make me feel so much more connected to my visualization and my goals and My prayers. Another thing I like to do is oil, my hair, when I'm meditating, because it just helps me to feel even more connected to my higher being, and I love that for me alright, so you all know that I love I love. I live for organizing. I went out and I bought some new Tupperware and it is my Sunday reset. So, on my Sunday we said I love to clean up and I love to meal prep and I'm getting my fruit ready for the week, I'm going with strawberries, kiwis and blueberries and for my meals for dinner. For the week, I'm going for baked chicken with some broccoli, and this is what it's all looking like - absolutely love it and I'm going to just set it all up in my fridge and now I'm going to show you all how I've been wearing my hair lately. I just do these buns and I redo the bun literally every week and I'll just like blow dry, my roots twist my hair up and get the bun in place, and it's literally so cute. I don't know why. But people always give me so many compliments. When I have my hair in a high bun, I don't know what it is, but people just love the high buns. So I also love the high bun because it's simple, it's very easy to do and it's low manipulation, and so we love that. Don'T we, oh my God. Oh my God disclaimer. This is not a tuple of oil. I actually rinse my hair out in the tub earlier and then I went ahead and I did an oil rinse on top of that. So that's what you're seeing in there is a mixture of oil and water. It is not just a tuple of oil. I did a rosemary rinse and I absolutely love this and you're just going to see me dipping my head back in to get a little bit more of moisture into my hair before I blow dry it, and my hair is only like 10 dry here and the Shrinkage like how do I not have heat damage, I use heat so much all right, so I'm going to take you through my nighttime routine. I was out in the humidity I was running around. I was doing so many different things and my hair is so poofy. Now, all right, so now I'm going to take you through my nighttime, oiling routine. I love to use a mixture of my favorite oils on my hair every night before I go to okay, let me not lie. I don't do this every night before I go to bed, but if I'm wearing my hair down, I tend to oil, my hair a lot more frequently and after I'm done oiling, I put it in a Big Bun and I absolutely love this. I think it's so cute and thank you all so much for watching make sure you follow me on Tick, Tock and Instagram. Bye,

Luvly Cee: I love how you said, “I’m 100 percent black….etc.” because people think that if you’re black with long, beautiful hair then you HAVE to be mixed. The lies they tell ! Thank you for living in your truth. Nothings wrong with being 100% black and having beautiful hair, specially 4c hair. ❤

Rabielle Parfait: And I have the hair that dreams are made of!! Yes to 4c power! I was also usually the only black girl school classes. It's so empowering when you finally show the texture you were born with!

Han Han: I'm so happy you dropped a new video! I've been needing a little boost to get me back on working on my hair goals, and sweetheart this was it! Don't let anyone ever knock your hard work. I used to think that my hair would never grow or thicken, but going back to a hair routine that caters to our hair texture has shown me improvement!

Roses & Peonies: I have 3b 3c hair but, I still find your videos very helpful! I am now at waist length! Keep up the great work, love!

Rene Renewed: I did a big chop 5 months ago. Now I have about 4 inches of hair. Going for 24. I have corn rows in that I was finally able to achieve. I'm going to leave them in for 10 days. The deep condition and wash, and braid again. I'll keep yall posted on my growth. My hair grows at 4 inches a year, relaxed. It's natural now. Grown to waist length before in locs for 6 years from bald. I combed them out and boom. Long hair!! I wasn't ready so I cut my hair off to get new locs. But instead I've decided to embrace and grow my loose natural 4c or 4b hair. I'm here to learn. Let's go!!! Who's growing with me?

iamjaleezalove: Yinka, you are so inspiring!! I love watching and listening to your videos while I do my hair, especially when I'm taking my hair down. I just feel like you really get it and you overcame, so I can, too! Looking forward to more videos

Apara: Yay...love the longer video. Glad you reached your hair goals. My FAVORITE part of this video is that you protective styled with your own hair . I love that. I don't protective style, but when I want a break from loose hair I just twist my own hair up and put it into buns. No need for wigs, weaves, and other time of faux hair .

Ashley Jones: Yay Hii Yinka Wow, how did you protective style for 5 months without unraveling?! Did you just wash it in the braids? How did you maintain it? That’s pure dedication! ✨ I started eating healthier too you’re so right about the nutrition part. ✨ I just love your content Thanks for giving me hope for my hair growth dreams. I believe I will get the hair of my dreams!

Glam glam: youre like my spirit animal. your confidence, self-respect, and aesthetic is amazing. YOU ARE THE IT GIRL period.

Tamara Manley: I sensed an upload coming, I always love the aesthetics of your videos. I am slowly reaching my goal, not there yet but my hair is definitely getting longer

Thank you ever so kindly for sharing your videos and knowledge with all of us, God-bless you✨️

Elle Bella2011: Yinka your videos are always so informative and nourishing. I always am grateful to you for sharing. I am still working to find what works for my hair. Sweetie: Yes girl. Keep them coming. I am not 4c but I also do this hair everyday because I just dont have the time to wrestle with my hair.

Kemi M: I just love your videos and your vibe making taking care of our hair so romantic and beautiful ‍♀️‍♀️✨ just love it!!

scrabblemistres: Hey I love ur videos and your empowering message about 4c hair! I just wanted to point out though that zucchini noodles ARE carbs. They are low carbs but carbs nonetheless. I do holistic health and nutrition coaching and this is a mistake many folks make. ALL fruits and veggies are carbohydrates. Zucchini noodles are yummy for your tummy and weight loss goals so good choice.

Being Natural: How did you maintain your hair while in the protective style? Did you wash it and if so, how often?

LeLa1ful: I would love to know how you wear your hair within those 5 months? I know it’s braided but how do you wear it just when you are out with friends or going to work or business meeting ?

glow up with riya: could you do an updated wash day video? i watched the one you posted on here and on tik tok and it's in a different order so i was wondering the correct way to do it.

Lawrence: AMAZING!!!!
