Blessings beautiful people, let's prep for wash day and have a little story time. Someone asked if i have tried msm or onion juice for growth. I personally hate onion with a passion. I would never purposely put that in my hair, but i consider onion juice, just fancy water and i fully support hydrated hair by any means necessary, funny story about onions. When i was about six or seven, my dad made fried bacon eggs for breakfast. Of course he put onion in the eggs, i was not amused. I refused to eat the eggs. If you know trini fathers, you know he was not having any of that from me. So he sat me on a bench with the plate. I was not to move until i ate the eggs. Okay, let the test of wills begin because i will not lose. I sat there for hours. I started rocking the bench and lo and behold the plate and eggs fell on the floor. Let'S just say i paid for that level of disobedience and destroyfulness. Now msm msm stands for methyl sulfonyl methane. It is an organosulfur compound that has many properties, including enhanced hair growth, when used regularly, msm can be taken both internally and used topically for similar hair growth. Enhancing results, however, when taken internally there are adverse side effects that can occur a hierna. This is where me and my belly come in here. How story went on october 25th. 2021. I decided i was going to try taking msm internally, so i set myself up with my morning tea and i added half the pinch-sized measuring spoon of msm to the tea. I thought that wasn't enough to do any harm. That was one piece ally check me like one back side, drink the whole cup of tea and go back to lie down not even 10 minutes pass, and i get one piece of valley pain. This was worse than a cramp. It'S like my intestines was in a vice grip. Trying to claw out my belly talk bout pain, i'm on the bed. Curled up in a fetal position screaming thought a lot. I'M dying, five minutes pass and i'm hobbling to the toilet, because it's time the pain lasted for a few hours. But then i was okay here come next day and i put the msm in my tea again same thing happened day, three same thing again at this point i was convinced it was the msm doing this. I was so done, but i'm not a quitter. So i went to mr google and he said vitamin c should be taken with msm. I tried that on day four i took one thousand milligrams, vitamin c tablet with my tea, the diarrhea and pain went from 100 to 10.. I figured i could deal with that. So i continued for a month my belly, soft and i've known this all my life. Anything out of my ordinary in my stomach will do some results and shank me in the kidney for playing with her, like she's a joke. I can't take that chance. I too big tattoos on myself, not me and that on november 25th 2021, i didn't see any growth outside what is normal, so i didn't continue taking it, but msm had another little surprise waiting for me on my first wash day after stopping the msm, which was Two weeks later, my shedding was significantly more than i'm accustomed to. This was literally me watching the size of this hairball, the excess shedding lasted until around mid-january 2022. I ain't never been so stressed in my life, but thankfully there were no lasting negative effects. From that experience, because my hair has continued to thrive under my regular routine, i am the most laziest natural you'll ever meet. I don't like to do much and i know i don't have to, but even though i'm lazy i'm extremely consistent and i don't neglect my hair, she is well loved and wants for nothing. I spoil her and she spoils me. Every head of natural hair is different. Your routine has to cater to the needs. Your hair requires, if you just take one vitamin and expect your hair to grow, but your routine is lacking vital steps, then the whole process will fail. An effective, moisture and strength routine, coupled with consistency, will always produce results. Every day there is another hair growth trend in the natural hair community, trying to jump on each one out of fear of missing the secret sauce to get fast. Hair growth will only lead to setbacks and delayed length retention solidify your routine. Then you can pick and choose which trend you want to add on it's. Your choice also make sure the people you're following has hair that looks like yours, a 4c natural following the tips and tricks of a type 3 natural will never end. Well, don't set yourself up for disappointment, we will never be them and they will never be us. Have you tried a natural hair trend that just didn't work for you?

NowIAmNappy: I’m thankful that MSM worked for me, but I do know it doesn’t work for everyone and I’ve heard the horror stories. One thing that didn’t work due me was cowashing and not shampooing. Like in the beginning it worked well but overtime I experienced extreme dryness and hair loss. At most i can do one cowash but I MUST shampoo

jenaccess4luv: I have been taking MSM for my joints for many years and I always take vitamins with a meal never on a empty stomach. By the way your hair is gorgeous

Janice Parker: So happy to come across your video again, msn always give me a headache no matter how small of amount I use , I have typ 4c hair I try clarifying my hair using moisture treatment can not use strong protein products, can say I haven’t steamed my hair lately can you pls do a video on how I can get soft flexible hair like yours. You have been such a inspirational to me

aniekaskaf: I do agree with what you said in the end... I be trying to jump on every trend to get long thick hair overnight, even though my ass knows that is not how it works. I love @nowiamnappy ayurvedic challenges and love the results she gets each time but lawks I'm so lazy for that level of consistency lol. I need to buy preservatives so I can have the hair teas last longer and stay on my dresser... I can't be bothered with making it every few days.

ElegantPaws01: Moisture and protein balance is everything. Well said. Balanced nutrition is essential. Great hair and skin is also an inside job. Get the leafy greens, eggs, salmon, protein etc and exercise not to mention water is just as important. Lower your stress.

Gratitude: What gets me is the naturals who have extremely long hair, and they kept their regimens very simple easy and consistent like you do (even products are affordable and simple) and then they come out with a hair product line that literally can only last one wash day and then they say this is what they used to get the length. It really has caused anxiety not just to me but other naturals who have fell for the ( if you don't buy the expensive product, you won't have length like they have) I really enjoy your videos because they are clear and to the point no extra fluff and no lies. Consistency, patients, and acceptance of your hair texture is key. Thank you

MzBatyah: You and onions. LOL!! I love them. Your MSM story is not funny yet it is. LOL!!! I tried taking MSM and vitamin C for a while but didn't notice any big differences so I stopped. And I agree that if you have type 4 hair, it makes sense to follow Youtubers or Influencers who have the same hair type as you. Their methods, tips and tricks for haircare will be more beneficial for your hair type versus someone who has type 2 or 3 hair type.

Southern Sweet Tee: I used to do MSM, but I never took it. I was told to get MSM powder and put it inside my water bottle and spray it on my scalp. I honestly don't know why I stopped using it. I might need to revisit

Ulanie Wilson: Gurrrrlllll You had me holding me belly listening to your experience. I only tried MSM topically in my Ayurvedic hair mask in the past.

Gabby+Mom: No, haven't tried MSM. As an Island Gal we learned not to waste food✌

aniekaskaf: I tried MSM and Vitamin C for a few days but it felt like someone was scraping the inside of my stomach so I stopped. I have been using it topically but have no idea if it is doing anything as I add it to ayurvedic herbs. Onion juice had me smelling "seasoned" for a week lol. I haven't revisited it as I am too lazy.

Shenice Dells: Lmaooo, as my mother would say if I eating it yuh hadda eat it too! If not lay down and cry next to it . I literally have a brand new bottle of MSM there and I fraid no backside to try it internally. I personally have a strong stomach but when something penetrates my tough walls, I know that I'm finna be hollering and I'm scurred . I have long hair so I don't care for the length it brings to some, I want to experiment on it bringing back the density of hair I lost due to stress, medication and iron deficiency. I know I gain my density back when things balance out which can take some time but I'm curious to see if it does assist in getting it back

Lovelyesquire: Your hair is absolutely fabulous!!!

Tai-chan: As a Jamaican I use to play the I'm not eating it game as a child all the time with my mom.. I have IBS, so anything new is a no go, mine will "finish me" if you get that mortal combat reference. I have tried a few and they worked. But not all....

Kosova: Yea when I stopped using towels but was still using heat on my hair I damaged it severely.

Spiritual Being: I played that eating game too many a time with my mom and true I NEVER won.

Ms Campbell: love the story

The Ratikama Works: The audio this is the funniest horror story lol thank you for sharing

Lisa Scott: All sisters dance! Won't be trying MSM. Thank you

i3abikay: Well I’m glad I never tried msm. I’ll stick to plant, fruits, oils and butters.

browninTT: Lol the dialect with that voice have me cracking up. Never tried MSM and never will I don’t find these side effects sound worth it. Never tried rice water nor onion juice. I just rel funny whe it comes to scents. It’s interesting though that I like to do diys but the rel popular ones I’ve never tried lol

Tribe Jamette: Fry bake and egg, onion or not I am a daddy's girl. Lol. I am sure your dad did not try to give you onions again. Lol

Oluwanifesimi Akinwale: Never used MSM internally or externally

aniekaskaf: So is why madam trying to kill me??? The island dialect and this caucozoid accented narrator had me cracking up!!!!

Ndifereke Wilson: I'd rather hear your voice vs the robo lady

akairi yahiko: Don’t look like 4c to me

TheSolitaryOne: So I will NOT be trying MSM. I may try rice water or something

Willie Mae Johnson: I am not understand what is being said what are you spraying on your hair that was never said

Tanya Knibbs: That voice over is so annoying
