Hey guys Krista, so today I want to talk about some things that you can do when you realize that your hair has stopped growing, so let's just get right into it. Okay, so I think the first and most important thing you need to realize when your hair stops growing, is that it has not actually stopped growing. So we tend to see that our hair has stopped growing when we don't see a lot of difference in the length of our hair, but your hair is always growing all the time. It'S always growing. It never stops growing your you know. Your hair just doesn't decide like. Oh we're, gon na stop growing for like two months. Your hair is continually growing, it is always growing, so you need to get into the mentality that your hair is always growing and it has never stopped growing, and that is not really the issue with why your hair isn't getting longer. So what we realize that our parent has not actually stopped growing, we can pinpoint actual issue with our hair. So let's get into the issues when your hair is either slowed down its growth rate or it is breaking off more so you're not retaining as much length. So the first thing I would suggest is to start using a clarifying shampoo. I use a clarifying shampoo every single time I wash now, but that is just my personal preference. I co wash for a very very long time and if you was washing, is that when you co wash you're, not removing the products from your hair as well as you probably need to be doing, you're, probably getting a lot more product build-up. If you exclusively co-wash. So I would add in a clarifying shampoo, whether that's every other week, whether that's once a month on a regular scheduled basis, so you know at least once a month your hair is getting completely clean. Your scalp is getting completely clean. Your scalp can breathe your scalp needs to be able to breathe in order to put out healthy, happy hair. Having a clean, healthy scalp is really the key to having a strong, healthy hair. So the next thing I would suggest to you is to take a look at your haircare regimen. If you have recently changed your hair care regimen, if you have changed products, if you have changed what you're doing - and you realize that your hair is just not either maintaining the same link that it was before are not growing as fast as it was before. Look into your hair care regimen and see what you have recently changed and see what could be the core of that issue. I think a lot of people have a tendency to think like if they change regiments or if they start something new. It'S going to be better, but I recently discovered that, after changing and trying out all these things, my old hair care regimen, like the thing that I started with the thing that I thought I need to improve, was actually the best hair care regimen for me. So I've now gone back to doing like very simple hair care, regimen, so look into your hair care, regimen see if there is anything you have changed recently that could be causing the slow growth are the extra breakage or whatever it may be and see. If that's something you can rectify see, if you know you need to go back to your old hair care regimen, because maybe that was the best hair care regimen for you or maybe you need to try different products or maybe your hair is not being properly moisturize. So it's you know, dry and brittle, look into your hair care, regimen and really look at your hair, and you see what is the problem I feel like. We tend to think that our hair care regiments are perfect. Are they working or have this mentality I'm going to try this new prom is going to be the best product ever, but it's really just not helping our hair or hair care regiment at all, okay, so the next tip I would give you is to look into Your lifestyle has your lifestyle change. Were you extremely active before and now you're, not as active? That could make a huge difference in how fast your hair is growing, when you're more active, you're going to get more blood flowing throughout your body, which means more blood flowing to your scalp, which means your hair is going to grow a little bit faster. If you are living a very active lifestyle and now you're living a more sedentary lifestyle, that's have a very large effect on your hair growth and also where you eating healthier before, were you eating drinking more water? Before I look at your lifestyle, see if your lifestyles change like, were you less stressed before now, you're super stressed that could affect your hair and that could affect your hair growth, not only in how you're taking care of your hair, but also internally, like if you're More stressed, you're tend to be less active. You know your chin did not take good care of yourself in general, including your hair. All these things could affect your hair in a negative way. So really take a look at your life balance II. Did it go from like sort of up here to down here and that's going to you know saying how healthy you are internally and externally, because both of those things can affect your hair and how your hair is growing and whether your hair is breaking off all These types of things could affect your hair. Okay, and the last thing I want to say is: if you realize that your hair has stopped growing, the best thing that you can do is to stop trying to change everything. Stop trying to try your product stop trying to you know, do the most and sort of go back to being simple and going back to a simple hair care, routine and sort of start in front of the bottom. So in my recent, like simple, like three products watch it or tune in routine and no products, hair care routine, which I'll link the playlist for that like up here and down description box below going back and just starting from sort of day. One like simple, very simple, hair care and sort of working my way up and taking the time to realize what my hair needs. That has been the biggest help to my hair. I really became which I wish I'd mentioned earlier in the video, but another thing that could be stopping your hair from growing is your obsession with growing your hair? Like I said, your hair is always growing. So when you become obsessed with growing your hair, which I definitely was you know, you start trying things that you definitely that you don't necessarily need you start trying products that you know like your hair doesn't necessary because you think there's a key to making your hair Grow longer, I definitely became obsessed with growing my hair so for awhile and looks like okay. My hair is not growing. My hair is not growing. I'M checking the length of my hair everyday and you're not going to see a difference in the length of your hair or when you're checking it on a daily basis. It'S always going to look the same length because you're, comparing it to your hair yesterday versus comparing it to your hair last month. So all these things can make a huge difference in whether your hair is going to retain length what their hair is going to broader yourself, healthy and a lot of times. The biggest detriment to our hair is our obsession with growing our hair. You know, and that usually causes a lot of the problems with our hair, so you know take a step back. I'M trying to you know just look my hair. It'S super stroking up right now, I'm just trying to let it be and let it do what it wants to do and you know and stop being obsessed with how long my hair is my hair is very healthy and I'm very grateful for that. I take a lot of care of my hair. You know like settings length goals is kind of a good idea, but also kind of a bad idea, because unless you like have a good idea of how much your hair grows, whether that's every month or every six months, and it's going to be hard like. If you want your hair to be down to here by the end of the year, but your hair only grow, it was like four inches a year, and it's only right here like that. That'S not going to happen! So when you think you know, when your hair is not down to your waist, you know you're gon na be upset you'll, be like oh, what's wrong with my hair, what's wrong with my hair, but then in the day, there's really nothing wrong with your hair. You know so overall arching, you know, synopsis of this video is don't be obsessed with your hair. Look into your haircare regimen see what can be there that has affected your hair. Look at your hair! Look at what your hair needs. Look at your lifestyle see if your lifestyle is change, so many things can factor into why your hair is not growing as much or why your hair is not retaining as much light as it normally is, but you're really need to look into your own hair care, Routine, welcome to your own lifestyle, listen to your own mentality, to find the issue. So that's all I have for you guys today. I hope you enjoyed this video remember to give a thumbs up. If you do random announcement me and Zack are starting a blog channel. So that is going to be linked, that I know description box below so make sure you subscribe we're buying like a drone. It'S about to be lit, we're about to travel a bunch. So it's going to be super fun, so go ahead and subscribe to our blog Channel, and that is it for now.

Kaylyn Boyd: Another tip as well for women, especially women of color, is to keep check on your vitamin d levels. If your hair is stagnant and you haven’t changed anything from your routine when your hair was growing it could be low vitamin d levels. It happened to me recently and my doctor put me on a prescription and my hair is back on track. It happens because we don’t get enough from the sun because of our melanin and we don’t typically get enough from our diets. It also causes weight gain and tiredness. Sorry that was so long. Hope this helps

Afuwa Renner 📺: Tip: take pictures of your hair every 2-3 months or so. It's easier to see a difference when you have pics to compare. :)

Carol Smith: Exactly. I have to shampoo regularly, deep condition weekly, protein treatment monthly. I use lightweight and small amounts of product daily. Eat lots of vegetables, drink water and green tea. That's it. I am not a slave to my hair, it's an accessory not a job.

courtney jackson: My hair care regimen is super simple. With 4C hair simplicity is key. Wash every week to week and a half, moisturizer and keep braids in weekly. I deep condition when I wash too. I just did a protein treatment last week so I'm good until November maybe. I had a lot of bumps in the process but my hair is finally collar bone length and growing nicely

Brownmahfun: I find that my hair grows slower some years than others, depending on what I have done to my hair and depending on how damaged or not damaged my hair is.  Sometimes my hair grows slower so the shorter strands can catch up with the longer ones.

Serena S: I love you so much. You've inspired me to go natural and you've really helped me grow my hair.

Alicia Mendsey - Natural Hair Journey & Goals: Nice advice. I talked about growth also recently. Thanks for giving us this information.

Kia G.: Am I the only one who thinks she looks a bit like Anne Hathaway??? Love her hair.... long thick and healthy!

Chanel Oldham: You hair looks so amazing! Mine is growing, It's just doesn't seem as full anymore.

MsMusicmaniac2: Honestly, when I just put water and a bit of oil, My hair grew out, but now when i use all these different types of products my hair grows like an inch a year, so what you said was relatable.

Rosette Ackesson S.: this is so helpful. My hair hasn't been growing for months now

Ari Rosado: My mom is black and my dad is puerto rican. My little sister and i are the only ones in my family with curly hair, except hers is long, thick and wavy, and mine is full tight curls. So different we do our hair with different routines. But once our hair gets used to it, it stop workin

Kimberley Mpolesha: So, I have low porosity 4c hair. I only knew my porosity last year or earlier this year. Done my first bigchop at 14 years old (in december 2014). Then I did a second bigchop in 2018, I went bald. I kept cutting my hair till august 2019. My hair is almost 3 years old. My hair grew like crazy from august 2019 to november 2020. But I feel like it has stopped eversince idk. My hair is still growing (I guess), but not as fast as it used to be. I started thinking what my routine was, for my hair to grow this fast in 1 year and 3 months. Well... i didn't know my porosity so I didn't use products based on it, I also neglected my hair. I didn't wear much protective styles either. My first protective style in 2020 was in July. I've only done 4 styles. As for the rest I would wear a headscarf or a wig with a bandana because I never did cornrows. I would go a looooong time without washing my hair or moisturize it because I got so tired of it. But the growth was reaaal so I thought "lemme take care of it", but eversince? I don't really see growth, but my family and friends see it. I also compare myself to other people's hair so idk

Treva marsh: There is a phase when growth slows down called the Telogen stage, this phase usually last around 3 month. Ur hair goes through 4 stages, Anagen, Catagen, Exogen and Telogen Phase.

TJ Radway: Beautiful hair, I love it! ❤️

Jasmine Coleman: Finally, someone who’s hair texture is like mine. It’s strange watching videos of these woman with curly behind hair and it’s down their back and Im sitting here with hair that rolls up 5 inches if I walk outside in the humidity Your hair is so beautiful

AndroidWith SickCoinTricks: before I moved up north, my hair care routine down south was: I washed my hair every Fri or Sat, I put in Shea Moisture Jamaican black castor oil/Shea butter leave -in conditioner, twist it up and I put my satin bonnet on... and every other night before I went to bed, I'd put more leave-in conditioner in, twisted it and put my bonnet back on (I never really get out much so I kept my put away and let it be). Ok so by the end of the summer last year I hair a decent sized afro and my length was to my liking and I also drink water during the whole process which helped lots. But as soon as I moved north, it was fine until it got close to the end of August *sigh* the frustration had set in when my hair broke off so bad (ESPECIALLY the back oml). I tried the same routine but it didn't work AT ALL, so I tried some other stuff and nothing works (still nothing does). Also I found out there's hard water where I am but drinking bottled water still don't help. I have to use water to wash and rinse my hair and using bottled water to do that is a pain. So yea no matter what I do my hair won't grow like before, it just makes me wanna cut it all off and wear a hat all the time. Could you or anyone else help me out please?? Because it's getting on my nerves and I'm close to being done.

q naturally: your hair looks so much like mine when it was long

K: I replaced shampoo in my regimen with a bentonite clay wash and my 4c hair LOVES it.

Melissa Bee: I thought I was protein sensitive so I removed the protein...then my hair broke off like crazy.

CeXra: How did you get your hair in that shape? Also, what style is this?? Love your videos!

jessica barnes: I've been watching you for a while now and your smile is AMAZING !

Dee Asfff: This video was so helpful,

Levi Cornish: I wish there were videos for 4c girls who are also vegetarian or vegan since protein plays a key role in hair growth

Kiki Onayemi: How can my hair stop growing when it never started to grow properly in the first place. *Breakage 24/7

MsNaturale Michelle: YEs to shampoo! Sulphate shampoo changed my 4c! Literally because when i DC it actually penetrates now rather sit on the top and stopped breakage.

Pyt Draya: I wash once a week , rinse my hair 3/7 days of the week , do protein treatments once a month, and oil my scalp then twist my hair everyday and put on my bonnet , and I'm an athlete , but it still seems that my hair will not grow and stays at the same length for forever . I think I'm gonna just cut it all off

Alana's Tv: Very helpful tips

ASMR.S.J: can 4c hair go down without straightening it and if so how?

I can See clearly: THANK YOU. Good info. you sound chatty not because of a negative reason but because we are individuals and everyone is not open. keep it moving.

StefanoTheGr8: One more thing that you didn't mention, if you notice that your hair isn't growing, you might need to cut those dead ends (if needed)

Susie Sue: Yes I notice on a lot of stylists videos on ig 4c hair is never long.

Jada Maze: I was using Cantu leave in and olive oil gel and oil and my twist out and my hair was bomb i started using other stuff my hair been dry and my twist out come out like trash.
