Hey sistahs!!

I’ve been having this long time itch to texlax my natural hair. I wanted looser curls and increased day to day manageability. My 5 year natural hair journey taught me so much about my hair and how to care for it that I know I’ll be successful on this new journey that I’m embarking on. I’ll likely do a Q&A video in the future if you want to know more about why I decided to do this etc. I hope you’ll continue to support me on this so called “hair journey” and until the next vid!

Check out the video and as always, leave your evidence and thoughts ▼▼▼▼

XOXO,

Ng

How To CORRECTLY Texlax Texturize 4C Natural Hair | Ng's Evidence

UPDATE 8/7/2015:

All products used to make this video were purchased by me. I wanted to give you girls direct access most if not all the products I used, so above you will find Amazon links. They are affiliate links, meaning if you purchase via the link I get a couple of coins from Amazon. Feel free NOT to use them (i.e. search the normal way on Amazon), just wanted to make sure I keep it 100% with my sistahs =)

Hey success, so I've been having this longtime edge to texturize or tech lacks my Boise natural hair. I finally committed to doing it after hitting my five-year natural mark and in this video, I'm going to show you how I achieve just that. So please keep on watching. If you're interested in seeing the process, so I decided to do a test run on some shed hairs and all the materials and tools I use will be listed in the description box below I made two different mixtures. The one on the left has three parts relaxer to one part: deep conditioner and the one on the right has no conditioner both receiving a few drops of olive oil. I'Ve been firmly mixed each one and applied it to the shed here you so, as you can see, the one with algae conditioner ended up having some more straighter pieces in it, and that wasn't really the look I was going for. I really wanted it to end up looking like my hair would just the more relaxed curls. Oh so I thought that was a pretty successful test run and now, knowing that I'm going to use the concoction with conditioner in it. I am the help of my three sisters to make it happen in real life, so we're going to speed up these next couple of parts, but everything you're going to see moving forward is identical to the test. One I just did Jeff is now in a larger volume, I'm going to assume that you guys are familiar with the relaxing process and I'm gon na. Let the majority of the video speak for itself, but I will just say that for myself I knew that the kinkiest parts of my hair were in the clown, and so I wanted my sister to start in the middle of my head. First started in the back because the back of my head has Luther curls and I wanted the longest processing time to be towards the clown. So again I want tech, slacks, hair and not relaxed or straight hair, so no tools or combs were used to smoothen. My hair only my sister's fingers, we use the total application time, took them about five minutes, and then we left the relaxed con for another five minutes for a total of ten minutes of application and processing time. Okay. So next we took to the kitchen sink to wash out the relaxer and sit down. Please don't worry about those dishes. They were all put in the dishwasher immediately X. When we were done. I was totally in love with the initial results. I just had looser curls, there were no straight pieces and I better tell you, you probably still think I was natural right, but no worries your girl doesn't lie I'll always be honest and they have tech slacks. As you can see, my hair is in dire need of a proper cut, as I haven't been to the salon, since I would last relax about five years ago. So with the deep conditioner in my head, I went straight off to the salon, I'm so sorry success. The salon I went to didn't allow filming, but I went in for a protein treatment, deep conditioner and a cut, and here are the final results. You I'm again really happy with the results. I wanted improved manageability and left I'm using on my hair and as all I've achieved, without damaging and wrecking my hair. So if you, ladies, have any questions on the process about anything I used, please feel free to leave them down below and, of course, I would definitely get back to you. You

Ebonee Debrah: Such a blessing to have sisters who can help you. The end result is beautiful, not too straight and nice texture, beautiful sheen.

The CraftyMom Chronicles: I have 4c hair too and have been natural for 10 years...I'm Over it!!! Manageability being the biggest issue. Everything takes to darn long. Been contemplating texlaxing for a year. I'm sold now! Your hair is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!!

TokyoDiimond: What a smart move to do a test run on shed hair and to add conditioner! This is the best video i've seen thus far, I feel more prepared to texture my hair in the future!

Jazzmen: I am natural and sometimes I like to see how texlaxed women do their hair. Your hair looks beautiful and it is very full. I respect people's decisions to do whatever they feel to do with their hair.

Fatima Dean: How smart was this, y'all?!?!?!?! I swear this makes the most sense: to use shed hair for the test run and to use two relaxer mixes to see how it would react to your hair!!!!! SMARTY PANTS!!!!!!!! : ) I've been wanting to texlax my hair for a while and now I know exactly how I should go about it. Thank you soooo much! xo- from NYC

Lisa McKinney: Very well done--both the video and the actual texturizer application. You are so blessed to have two sisters supporting you in this process,

dsassiest1981: GIRL.. THANK YOU FOR SHARING! I'm on my 8yr natural do' and notice I've been weaving & wig rocking more then being able to manage my natural hair, thus dreaming of an in between solution to the "creamy Crack". Thank you for the clear & organized video and the genius idea to use shedded hair as the test trail- brilliant, I'm following suit. Shout-out to the sisters in video... especially since one of them reminded me of my family members. Do you have photos/videos of your hair in a "curly" state?

AdorzAaliyahSince94: Great video!! Haven't relaxed my hair in 7 years (Late Sept/ Early Oct 2013) & I've been thinking about doing this method for a few months now. I'm about to Tex-Lax later on today! I have 3C and it gets tangled so easily! I'm just over dealing with it! Thanks for having a ratio to go by! ORS is my favorite line to use.

Cheryl Vargas: You are so lucky to have a sistah team to help you when you need it!

Tishaboo: Testing the mixture on shed hairs is GENIOUS! I'm strongly considering texturizing my hair and this method will help me make sure that my hair doesn't get too straight. Thank You for sharing!

Meka J.: New subbie! I'm thinking about texlaxing and this video was so informative. I have watched numerous videos & this one is the best by far. You have made me feel so much better about my decision! Thanks Hun!

Apryl Goins: I love this soo much ready for a new hair journey been natural for 3 years

Alena Dunham: This is the video I needed to make a decision to use oil vs. conditioner! Thank you for this!

Monique P: even though i don't personally want to texlax i love the process and testing you did beforehand. excellent video. thanks!

Nikki G: This video is super informative and helpful! I love watching hair videos! Great video girl!

Wokie B.: I've been wanting to texlax my hair! Yours looks great!

Jane Nashe: Your hair is so thick and looks good. Love the result, and thank you for showing some love to my channel.

Lisa McKinney: Job WELL DONE! Excellent and informative video, which moved along very quickly and was straight to the point.

Just Ju: Best texlaxed 4c hair video on YouTube!! Thank you so much. 3 && a half years natural, && I'm ready to texlax

TWANation: I love your results, and you got an even curl pattern all around! I'd really love to see how you touch up your roots in the future

NolansMum: OMG!....I've been thinking about texlaxing but was afraid it would come out looking completely relaxed. This method is IT! I'm so going to mix in conditioner with the relaxer.

Jodi-Kay Edwards: This is amazing! 10 minutes not bad! I'm a year into my natural hair journey I've been thinking about straightening my hair ( I haven't since I went natural) :) any advice? Also I have a lifestyle and fashion channel if you wouldn't mind checking it out sometime!

Hey Alexia: You're so blessed to have sisters that help you with your hair

Fluffy flo: Yeah i texturized my hair awhile back and. And i must say i love it!

lowalker01: You are lucky to have your sisters' help. Your hair is very long. Very beautiful head of hair! TFS #IAmNoirTV #redteam

Mary Balogun: Great video and beautiful hair!! Can't wait to see your new regimen!

AB: This video is amazing ! You go girl

Olivia Brown: Loving your results! I would definitely love to see you do a review of Straight Silk Spray Heat Protectant by JuniorLabs. It gets my hair silky smooth

F. J.: So you flat iron after tex laxing? Also as I watch more videos on tex laxed hair I'm starting to think that a lot of people on here are actually Tex laxed and saying they're all natural!! The way your hair hung after the tex laxing is how all the hair looks in these videos!! And I'm going crazy trying to figure out why my hair isn't hanging!! My hair never hangs when wet!! I'll be 4 years natural next month, never flat ironed or tex laxed...

Kimberly Purpoz: Awesome video!:). I like how you did the test run first. That is a good idea. You hair looks pretty and healthy. I just subscribed to your channel.

Mybrwnisbeautiful Hin: I textlaxed after 4 years of going natural. Ended up having to big chop again. My hair (4c) just cannot endure any chemical. Hope you have better results.

Gretel Garza: Your hair looks so cool! Great video!

Bri Lee: I really wanted to see it dry without the cut and protein treatment

H20fanatic20: See, these videos are so informative. I've got 4a in the front and my crown, 3c in the back right and left. 2a in the back center and 4b on the sides. so bascially I need to apply the texturizer to the 4b and 4a spots first because I don't want my already loose curls to go straight.

Mimizz: SIstah Sistah(my Nigerian sister), first thanks for showing some love on my channel, thanks for bring us along with your journey and your hair looks fabulous, being natural my self I'm at a stage I'm like "she nah by force?"..lol Im bout to go indulge in more of ur vids ps we should def keep in touch..:*

AnonPerfection: What a genius , I would of never thought to do a test run on dead hair , genius !

N A Y A : Wow, this is beautiful, NG! I would love to see what it looks like completely air-dried, before the blowout to get a better sense of the new texture. Any pics? :-)

Breeann Morgan-Hunt: This is the first vid I've seen with a test run - thank you for the thoroughness of this video

Tamaria Lakayye: Love this video and team effort!!!!

Kimyana Coleman: This was very helpful last time I did this to mine it was straight in the middle of my strands I know what to do now

Laqwanna Franklin-Caines: I'm curious. I have 4B 4C hair myself. How were you able to get that much shedded hair to test? When I comb my hair after unbraiding I don't shed as much as I used to. I'm definitely considering texlaxing for my edges and nape.

J A M I E K A: I can’t wait to get my hair texlax..once my hair grows out it’s awkward stage it gets matted. Right now it’s matted and I’m getting it detangled. I don’t have the time when I work overnights.

Keba C: your hair looks amazing, thank you for the video.

Michiko Bursey: I liked the texlaxed result, but i felt the hairdresser trimmed off too much hair, and you were a five year natural. Hair relaxers tend to damage hair long run, in two to five years the damage usually evident. Even if you wash and condition the hair on a regular basis, the damage is there, but then there is a small chance that you might be one of the few people that can take hair relaxers. So i hope you success with your relaxed hair. (If hair relaxers manufacturers could make relaxers that were less damaging on afro-american hair i would texlax my hair too.)

S W: She has convinced me to finally  texturize my 6 year plus natural 4C hair. Including the deep treatment and olive oil is genius just perfect!! Sometimes all our hair needs is a little boost to look good and be healthy. Thank you so much NG's Evidence :)

t washington: beautiful results!

mzblackpearlz: Loving It!! Great job!!

MyLocksMyPlants: Sis your hair came out greattttttttt omg

Katisha Dogisha: Very well informed. It was definitely smart to test it out before applying. However I'm not feeling the end result I don't like perms but I like hair to be all straight or all kinky o hate in between or roots that look kinky and straight ends. Not my style but to each their own

Geri GeraldinetheGreat: Come on editing! Lol I loved how you filmed the whole thing Dimples! Your hair is thick sha! Can't wait to see how you will be styling it now.

Plight of the Black Woman: Do you have any updates on how your texturizing is going after some touch ups?

Shari Elisa: Okay this is the best texturizer video I've seen on youtube. thank you for sharing the details bc them other videos had me lost. i like the method you used.

Tiffany: Beautiful hair

Alexandria Baker: thanks for sharing! Been natural 4 years n just tired lol.

Lamisy Esta: How do you feel in 2020 about texlaxed hair?... are you still texlaxed, full relaxed or back to natural. Any advice for a natural considering texlaxing

Banke Fa: I love the end results of this tex lax. It the best so far for.me.

FashionKhadijah: This video was very informative.

SMNTV: Great video and tips

Comelite Lesch: How far are you in this journey and how did you maintain this

arielartista: It looks really great but the look I’m going for is slightly less straight. My hair is 4abc and I want it to be more 4b

hayes Alexa2014: This was really smart.im so done natural hair is much more damaging I trimmed, protective style, moisturized and it still knots up bad and break no other things I can think of

luna: I wanna do this just to the kitchen area but I'm not ready to add another texture to my heat damaged hair lol

Tishaboo: I liked your method so much that I used it to texturize my hair (1st time). I made a video of my Texturizer application & results ( http://youtu.be/ZddXBM2TxJI ) and I referenced your video in my video. Thanks again!

q naturally: your hair turned out great!

Keto Keiya: I texturized my hair with A "just for me" texturized and I will say it didn't take or achieve the looser look I was going for , its kinda the same. I'm thinking about doing this same procedure but wondering if I should leave in for maybe 7 to 8 mins

Babi B: This helped so much thank u!

Donica Jones: thank you!my hair is nappy im sure its past 4c. lol but i just dont wanna put a full perm in my head,so thank you i definitely will try this method.

KillinIt 225: Can you do a texlax wash day routine !?

Kendeana Stephens: Can you provide an update? Are you still using this? have you decided to stop? Interested as I am debating on trying a texturizer

Flairelle: Your hair came out great. Have you retouched since? Aaaand do you flat iron it or wear it mostly curly?

TIEASHAMOSS: Omg your hair came out beautiful

Ayanna Hogan: This is like a science experiment I love it

Imani Chatelain: I'm 15 I've had Natural hair my whole life I was forced to perm it 1 time didn't do anything for me and hated it my whole family relaxes there hair and stuff but I don't im wondering y grown woman are having such a hard time with there hair while I'm having an ok time alot of people seem to think that it's some kind of abusive relationship when it's really not

Sarah Destiny: Great video girl !

EFTG: Your sisters are awesome, they disld a good job, your method is great, love it

Tanichea: What is the ratio of texturizer to conditioner that you used?

maidservantofJesus: How many boxes of relaxer did you buy to this? Was one box enough?

The Shy & Ellie Show: omg your texlax got bone straight...that's why I'm scared to do it but you hair is very thick & looks pretty healthy! did your hair pattern change long term?

Joy Jones: nice result. I'm thinking it would be best to leave it on for a little lesser than 10mins overall. and perhaps add some vaseline to the hair before application, like some others advised.

tj Tanner: What's the maintenance of this? How do you upkeep it?

Nadou Love: I really want to do this but I'm nervous my last relaxer was 2013 rock the tapped look until December 2015 my really grew ... now I'm thinking to relax my hair for better time management and styling it's tough to style my natural hair

Devica Miller: Do a follow up on caring for your texlaxed hair process

Salt & Light Girls: Loving this! New subscriber!!!! xx

tiona: The part with your sisters was so cute omg you're very luckyyy :)

zheahra: Best texlax results I've seen!!!!

Mordi W.: You just have beautiful hair all together.

Elisia's Evolution: great video and good results

S.R.A: Please make more updates on your texlaxed  hair :)

Roxi Renee: So basically, texlaxinge is adding deep conditioner and EVOO to regular relaxer? I’m new to this. I enjoyed the video. Yall look like y’all have fun together.

Samira Salim: hi when you relax your hair is it permanent or do you have to do it every so and so

TheSpunkAvenue: Is the aphogee "two step" protein treatment same as protein treatment?

Altamese Kamara: Beautiful hair

Saran Diawara: Omg thank you for this video because it's so hard to find a video for 4c hair. And your hair is goal can't wAit for my hair to grow like yours!
