Hey everyone, so it's day two and it's actually relax a day and I'm joined with Mommy, say hi Ma and, as you guys know, Mommy is the one who normally relaxes my hair. So we're about to get started so guys we'll be using the dark and lovely relaxer kit. This is the number one question I get asked. What relaxer do I use here? We go, but I don't normally utilize all of the contents within the box. I of course use the relaxer cream and then there's the smoothing Elixir, which I have to mix into the relaxer cream after that is rinsed out of my head. I go in with the fiber treatment, the post fiber treatment and then I utilize the neutralizing shampoo. So what normally happens? Mommy will start with the back portion of my hair because that's the part of my hair, that's really coarse and sort of resistant to the relaxer, so she's gon na just put up the rest of my hair and then work from the back. First, okay, let me check to see what time it is so that we can see how long this process really takes. I started at 8 44. So, let's see how far we get is it party straight good stuff and my scalp is dry? Oh scab IES. I guess what yesterday when I was watching over the footage, I saw this big scab that I was like whoa. That'S massive anyways guys so Mom started relaxing my hair, maybe about six seven months ago. Um. This is her third time doing my hair and it has come out really good every time, so she's, not a professional, so we're not expecting Salon results, but she does it like how I want it to be done. Yeah, okay, she says: well, she does it well and she does it. How I want it to be done, and I don't get that sort of anxiety when she's doing my hair, so she's taking care of it, because she knows how much effort and time I put into my ankier that I put into my hair. So she's wanted to maintain that and she loves my hair she's been the one taking care of my hair from the time I was born yeah. You can do one side first and then you tackle the other side after so this is one piece of advice. I would give if you're uncomfortable with relaxing your own hair, which I am I just don't want to do it because I can't see the back of my hair. I don't want to risk um, you know put in relaxer on previously relaxed here I well. I get my mom to do it so, whatever advice, if you're, uncomfortable or you're feeling you know a bit antsy about relaxing your own hair, get someone Close to You, someone that you trust to assist you with doing your hair. Now I got a comment asking: how did I get my roots relaxed so straight within the 20 minute time period that you're supposed to keep on your relaxer? This is the very first time that Mom and I actually time in it, as I stated before - she's, not a professional, and so it's likely that her pace is not going to be. You know as Swift or as quick as a professional and that's why this whole technique of pre-twisting your hair at the start is so important because it really does help the process to go by quicker. So today I'm going to be testing it out to see how long we actually take, even if we go over the 20 to 25 minute period, I am not first, I'm not seeing a huge impact on my hair, so yeah, but today we'll confirm how long it Actually takes - and I think, as well as she continues to you, know, build her confidence and relax in my hair. The process is likely to get quicker right. So this is her third time and I would say that her second time was a little quicker than her. First time, so her third time should be a lot quicker than both times before. So, let's see and because she's mindful as well of the time you know, I could sense her moving a little quicker, so good, Grandma's she's telling me no someone not party nice here. I thought I was doing good, I think I'm about 12 weeks post relaxer, so I have an okay amount of New Growth. It'S not excessive. I'M definitely in need of a relaxer, because my new growth is starting to become really unmanageable. So hopefully I don't burn. I think that I probably will because I've been scratching my hair so much for the last two days, but for people who feel as though you're not supposed to apply the relaxer to the scalp. Yes, we know that you're not supposed to apply it to the scalp, but it's sort of inevitable. It will get onto the scalp she's, not actively trying to apply it to the scalp, but it will get on it. It will touch the scalp, so I did not base my scalp and the reason why I didn't is because I didn't want to affect how my hair is processed, so I've kind of stopped basting my scalp these days. It can work out for the good or it can work out for the bad. But for me I just don't want anything interfering with the processing of the relaxer on my new growth, okay, guys so we're 10 minutes in and mommy is literally just wrapping up. The second half or the wrapping up the first half rather so, I think, we're good for time right, um yeah. I think we should be good for time so right behind. There is where I feel I'm gon na get burnt because yeah behind there was like, and I could feel like a little tingle. So so let me know down in the comments, if you guys have any particular areas in your hair that are sort of resistant to the relaxer. So you guys know the back of my hair is um, and so I always Remind mommy to pay a little bit more attention to that area. So the smoothing she definitely goes in and does a lot more smoothing behind there, because it's just a weird texture altogether. I was sort of freaked out the other day because the shop that I normally get my relaxer from it didn't have any, and I was like, oh Lord, where am I gon na find this relaxer? And I really don't want to change because it's it's a struggle for me to find a relaxer that doesn't burn, because my scalp is very sensitive. I have to shop around and when I shop around, I got to the store that had maybe about three boxes left. I was tempted to buy all three, but I I just didn't so. Hopefully my usual store will stock back up Victor's Supermarket talking to you yeah, so Mom. How was my um? How was my natural hair? If you can remember? Oh, you mean to say, ah, when you're going up there, Dina you're here was so thick. You know I used to plug it in sometimes it's so thick that you didn't, like her party, sometimes yeah, guys she used to plucked my hair. So weird, like some massive massive massive plants, when I say I used to have like six plaits in my hair, so imagine your hair being that thick and you have six Flats in your hair and then you know. Sometimes I don't like how you have this one. If you want me seriously so sometimes yeah, especially when I have a bedtime coming over you washing remarkable bubbles I used to have in it yeah guys. I don't know if you guys know what we call them bubbles, we call them bubbles in the Caribbean. Like you know, there was the little rounds stuff that you put in your hair with elastic in between the two and all different colors, my mom. I could have one yeah. I could have on a yellow, dress, she's, putting in pink purple red black white, because I was so glad to have you. So that was the problem. I could have done anything new here. Mommy used to do a whole bunch of things in my hair, and so she Smooths with her hand. I know some people would smooth with like a comb, the back of the comb, but she Smooths with her hand. So it's actually the number one question I get over on my tech talk. Actually what relaxer do I use, so it's the dark and lovely relaxer, kids, Dark and Lovely if you're looking to partner with your girl. Let me know because always want to know what I use, and that is the one that I serve them. That is the one that I use and I absolutely love it. I get consistent results all the time and, as I said, it's very gentle on my scalp. So so my hair relaxes born straight but the front of my hair, my edges, my edges always have a little bit of texture and that's because that's like the finest part of my hair, so there's no need for me to relax it bone straight anyways, because the Natural texture of it is, is very loose, so so we're finished, and I showed you the products that came in the Box I'll be using additional products as well. So, in addition to the neutralizing shampoo that comes in the Box, I'm also utilizing this. So this is the Motions neutralizing shampoo, this one is color coded and I love to use it because it shows up pink when they're still relaxer in my hair. So that gives me a good indication of whether or not I should continue neutralizing. So I would neutralize twice with the one in the box and then I go in about two more times with this one for deep conditioner on relax a day. I always use the joyco moisture recovery balm. This one is a mixture of moisture and protein. So I love to use it. The Box already comes with its own protein treatment, so this is, you know, primarily a moisture treatment. So I like this because it hasn't silicones that can really help with softening your hair, helping it to detangle a little bit more and also when I'm blow drying. You know it gives you more of like a silky sort of look so yeah. Those are the two additional products that I will be using so guys I'll come back to you when my hair is finished, um and show you the end results so yeah say bye to Mommy, Mommy, say bye, all right guys. So we'll come back in a bit foreign, just a reminder guys I forgot to mention, but before you actually head into the shower or the sink wherever it is, that you rinse out to your your relaxer, remember to unravel The Twist. Some persons can get away with not unraveling the twists if their hair is cut in a blunt cut, because then, as soon as the water touches it, the the twists will naturally unravel. But if your ends are a bit fine, you may wish to unwrap them before you actually rinse out the relaxer. So this section is done as well and now we're going to get into the fun part which is actually putting on my heat cap to allow some heat to really make the Steep conditioner work. You don't have a plastic cap. You can always utilize a good old plastic bag, so now I'm just going to plug in my heat cap and sit underneath this for about 15 to 20 minutes. While I do some reading and just chill it's relaxation day, alright guys so relax a day is over, and here I am with the final results, but before I even show you my hair, let me just talk you through how the you know the after process went After you saw me first off the darken lovely relaxer kit will always be on my top list in terms of relaxers. I just feel like. I just leaves my hair feeling so good. I think I'm actually going to do a full review of the dark enough relax. The kids at least the products that I would have used so that you can get you know a more in-depth understanding of why it is that I use that relaxer. I did get one little burn at the back of my head and that's fine. It was expected if you watched my previous video. The whole process went really well. My deep conditioner, the joycoat, always giving me fabulous. Amazing results at this point. My hair feels so silky, So Soft. My hair has so much movement, just amazing um, but I had to cut. I know I know I know I'm gon na insert some pictures of why I had to cut my hair and, to be honest, this is really just prompting me to start a challenge. It'S called a no comb challenge for a month and I'm gon na come back to you with more details on it, probably in a short form, or you know in some other form, on my community tab. So just look out for that. That'S something that I have in the making, but it just goes to show that sometimes you can do everything that you think you're doing right for your hair and still like the hair. Just won't reward you why the hair acting up? Where did that Gap come from like it was so weird, and my mom is like completely saddened that she had to cut off so much of my hair. You know she was telling me just let it grow out and then you cut and I'm like. No, the reason being is because I've done this time and time again. I'Ve always like, I feel, like I always have some sort of a gap, and then what have problems is I leave the Gap and the Gap just keeps going up further and further and then at the end of it, I have to cut off more here this Year I ain't given no chances if I'm seeing a gap, I'm cutting it off, but it's just. You know confirming to me that I need a protective style a bit more. I was a little bit too lenient to wear my hair down and doing the whole works. So now it's all about protecting my ends and making sure that those gaps do not return. I just want you to see the movement, though, like what there's so much movement in my hair, and I absolutely love it like the products that I use to blow dry and flat. Iron are just completely amazing and yeah consistent results. All of the time and my hair feels completely moisturized at that. I think I'm like just really impressed with my edges and how my edges just look really thick and full. Oh, my God, can you guys see right my edges. Look so full. It looks like my hair wants to cover my face: yeah guys, that's it for today's video. Thank you so much for watching. If you enjoyed this, please give it a thumbs up and if you haven't yet subscribed - and you made it to the very end of this video subscribe, what are you waiting for? We are on our way to 5K.
