#hair #haircareroutine #longhair

Hello guys welcome back to my Channel today I am showing you my full, updated hair care routine, the last one that I uploaded was almost two years ago, so there's so much that has changed since then, with that, I also want to put out a huge disclaimer For you guys before you watch this video, just because I've said once that I love a hair care product and I'm not using it today, like you're, not gon na see it featured in this video. That doesn't mean that I don't like it. I most likely still love it. It just means that there are hundreds of thousands, probably of amazing hair care products out there, that I still recommend for you guys, but it would just not be physically possible for me to use every single product in this video and just like a side note. But that's part of the reason why it has taken me so long to give you guys an updated hair care routine, because I've just kind of been very overwhelmed with the sheer number of hair care products out there that I have almost become like decision. Slash choice paralyzed just in terms of like having absolutely no idea which products to use, because I love so many of them, but I do have a routine that I've been using consistently for a few months. And so I think that now is a really good time to share my routine with you enough, rambling, as I always do, let's get into the video. So the first part of this video is going to be everything that I do pre-wash. So, first of all, every night before I go to bed, it doesn't matter. If I am on day one hair or day three hair, I use rosemary water, which is what's in this bottle. I will leave a link to the video that I made recently showing you my in-depth Rosemary water recipe and routine I'll put it in the description. But basically I just spray it onto my roots, and I do this at night, because Rosemary itself is supposed to help increase, hair growth and it doesn't leave any residue on my scalp, I'm not left with any oiliness or anything like that. There'S no like overpowering scent and you might be wondering why I don't use rosemary oil, because that seems to be really popular right now. I do which we will get into in a little bit, but but because I have oily hair. I can't oil, my my roots and scalp every day, so Rosemary water is like the best option for me. So before I shampoo my hair, I try to get some of the oil and just product build up, and maybe even like dandruff off of my scalp, by brushing my hair with a wooden hair brush and by using oils. So this is the wooden hair brush that I use. This is great for oily hair, because the wooden bristles help to spread the oil from your roots down to the length of your hair um. So I always use this before I am about to wash my hair. Additionally, I always oil, my hair, before I wash it the oils that I use on my hair, castor oil, jojoba oil and rosemary essential oil. These oils have antibacterial anti-microbial properties. They can help keep your skin smooth, they can help promote hair growth, but the number one reason why I oil my hair is because it helps to keep my scalp clean, which may sound counterintuitive the oils help to lift up dead skin dandruff. It helps to to release the hair from the hair follicle that has shed so that new hair growth can begin. Then, when I shampoo it's just a lot easier to clean and get rid of build up, and this is different from shampooing. So with shampoo, we are using the cleansing agents in the shampoo to clean your roots and scalp, but with oiling at least the way that I do it. It'S like I'm manually, lifting up any of the like physical buildup, that is on my scalp, with the help of oils. So let me show you how I oil, my scalp, I put three oils on a plate and I massage them together on the plate. I like mix them together with my fingers. Then I just gradually apply the oils to my scalp until there's no more oils left on the plate. It'S pretty much like a scalp massage, but I just use my fingers instead of using like one of those scalp brushes and scalp. Massages are great for your hair because they can increase hair thickness by basically stretching the cells of the hair follicle, which in turn stimulates the follicles to produce thicker hair, and I will link like the study that I found that information from speaking of wooden hair brushes. I do have a designated wooden hair brush that I use in my hair immediately before and after oiling my hair. This helps to spread the oils throughout the lengths of my hair. I don't use this hair brush at any other time because it has all of the oils on it. From my hair on the bristles, it has the oils from my natural oils over you know, after not washing my hair for three days, it has the castor oil and jojoba oil and rosemary oil on it. I do get a new one about once a month just because I cannot wash it like. I would a regular plastic hair brush because the bristles are wooden. So now we're going to move on to shampoo and just like washing my hair, once I'm done with oiling my hair, I immediately get in the shower to wash it so I don't oil, my hair and then wait three hours and then shower. I don't oil, my hair before going to bed and then shower in the morning I oil, my my hair and then I just shampoo right away. There'S a few shampoos that I alternate between on a regular everyday basis. I opt for a sulfate free, clarifying shampoo like this one. I make sure that I put clarifying in quotes because it's sulfate free, it's not going to clarify your hair like a true clarifying shampoo would that has sulfates in it, but because I have oily hair. I really need to use a shampoo that is going to clean my hair thoroughly, but it's not going to dry it out, and usually shampoos with those characteristics are clear like this one. This is the Aveeno apple, cider, vinegar, shampoo, it's sulfate free. It doesn't irritate my scalp at all and it even has like some really beneficial ingredients. It'S just really great for my hair. I love it and it's affordable, which is great wooden. Shampooing white, only shampoo, the roots of my hair when it rinses off it gently cleanses. The lengths of my hair, so I'm not like totally neglecting the lengths, but I also don't want to shampoo them as much as I shampoo The Roots, because there's not nearly as much oil on the ends and like they're, not nearly as dirty as the roots. Then I use a clarifying shampoo about once every two weeks, so that would equate to maybe once every six to eight washes. The clarifying shampoo that I am using right now is the Redken hair cleansing cream shampoo, which I've been using for so long. I swear by this shampoo. It is amazing, it is the best clarifying shampoo that I've used um, there's so many good ones on the market like there's just so many, but this one is amazing. This has sulfate, so it's definitely not something that you would want to use on an every wash basis. Well, at least for me, it's not something I want to use on an every wash basis, but it also has really nice exfoliating properties that are great for your scalp, just to keep it clean and free of build up. I have actually started to use this clarifying shampoo on the ends of my hair as well, which may surprise some of you guys, because I always say, like you just shampoo The Roots I mean I use like a lot of serums and creams and, like conditioners on The ends of my hair and all of those have silicones in them, so I actually use more silicones on the ends of my hair than I do on the roots, and because of that, I found that I needed or I need to clarify my ends, and it's Only once every two weeks, so this is not anything like dramatic - I'm not drying out the ends. I feel like not giving the ends a proper clarifying wash is worse for my hair than the actual Act of shampooing my ends, considering that I'm only going to be doing it like once every two weeks, so it's sort of like no, it's not ideal, but just Given, like the other options, I think it's the best choice in my situation with my hair now for conditioners, I think conditioner in general is just my favorite hair care product to use. I love conditioners and hair masks, so I love like all the Moroccan oil conditioners. All the karistas conditioners, L'Oreal conditioners, are all amazing, but I just don't happen to be using the pureology hydrate conditioner, which I think is, is amazing and currently my favorite. So this has silicones which is important for protecting my hair against damage, of course, um. It makes my hair smooth, it makes my hair soft. I only apply conditioner to the lengths of my hair. I never apply it on the roots and I leave it in for about three minutes and then I just rinse it out. I actually. I guess I should clarify no pun intended. I should clarify that I use these two together, so I use the Aveeno apple cider, vinegar, blend shampoo with the pureology hydrate conditioner. I don't use this conditioner with the Redken shampoo, just because I opt for a hair mask which I will get into now. I use a lot of different hair masks. I alternate between them and because I'm using one every two weeks. That means that there's not really one that I am consistently using, there's like a collection of them that I'm going through. I think that hair masks are the secret to healthy looking hair. They protect your hair from damage. They make your hair look soft and shiny, and everything like that they're, like conditioners, but like times ten, I have four favorite hair masks, so let's just go over them briefly. I just had to buy a new one of this. This is the arva zalia um hydrating argan oil hair mask. I have actually been using this for years like before the pandemic. I I have been using this. It just makes my hair feel so smooth and luxurious. I love it and it smells really good. I also used the kerastos chroma absolute hair mask it's intended for color treated hair. Just a side. Note, the last time that I had my hair colored was over a year ago, and so I'm pretty sure that it has pretty much all washed out since then. I'M not going to be coloring it again um my hair is not chemically treated. So the fact that this hair mask is for color treated, hair and mine isn't color treated. That just shows you definitely do not have to have color treated hair to use it. It'S just a really great hair mask and if you happen to have color treated hair, it's probably even better for your hair. Another hair mask that. I recently discovered that I love. Where are you I'm picking it up with my feet? Okay, so this is the Eliza vekka, I'm sorry, if I'm mispronouncing that um collagen coding hair protein treatment, this is only 7.24. I have seen it on Amazon for years like it's just always one of like the top hair products on Amazon. I tried it and I am obsessed with it. I love it, it's a really great hair mask it does what a hair mask is supposed to do. It makes your hair extra shiny, extra, smooth extra detangled, it's just great and then, of course, I use the Moroccan oil hydration hair mask Moroccan oil is one of my favorite hair care Brands. Again, I don't really know what else there is to say about a hair mask. All I can really say is that it's an amazing hair mask. It works really well for my hair um and then, of course, with hair masks. I use them just like I use conditioners. I just apply it to the lengths of my hair and then I wait about three to four minutes and then I just rinse it out. Okay, so moving on now we're just going to briefly touch on like how I dry my hair, like what sort of towel I use. So when I'm done washing my hair, I gently wring it out nothing like too intense, because that tension on your hair, of course, is not good for your hair. So I just gently wring it out to get as much excess moisture out as I can, and then I put it up in a hair drying towel I've tried, like all different types of hair drying, towels from ones that are like five bucks to ones that are Like 50 bucks and I've just found that as long as the packaging says, hair drying towel. As long as you are clearly aware that you are purchasing a towel, that is solely intended to be used on your hair, then you're fine skims has a hair drying. Towel that, I want to say, is like 40 bucks. It'S good! Don'T get me wrong like it. It works well, it's good quality, but you can easily just get one for ten dollars from Amazon and get the same exact result. I will link some Below in the description some hair drying, towels that I really like we're are now making our way. I feel like I'm like a tour guide here. We are now making our way through the post shower part of my hair care routine, and we are going to discuss something slightly controversial and that is blow drying. I always blow dry. My hair blow drying is better for my hair than air drying and, of course, I'm only speaking for myself, although this probably and does apply to a lot of you uh, you know what, before we get into that, let me just discuss what heat protectants I use, Because I always apply heat protectant. If I'm blow drying my hair, I will use the Redken quick, blowout spray. This one is lightweight and it's great for oily hair or just hair that gets weighed down easily if you have thin hair. This is great. I just spray. It all throughout my hair, focusing on the lengths and the ends and still applying it to the roots, because I want to protect the roots. I just don't apply it as much as I do on the lengths of my hair. So if I'm just doing like a regular blow dry, I will use the Redken quick blowout if I'm using the air wrap or if I am curling my hair or just like using a straightener on dry hair, I will use the Tresemme thermal Creations heat Tamer spray. This one, I feel like is even better if you have thin or just like hair that gets oily easily. Now, let's just go over, why I blow dry, my hair and why blow drying for me is significantly less damaging than air drying. I just want to briefly cover it, because I feel like every time I mention it. There'S always like someone who is new to the idea of blow drying being better for your hair. So I just want to make sure that we're all on the same page here when your hair is wet it's in a week and fragile state. Therefore, it is more easily damaged from things like mechanical damage like brushing your hair or putting it up in like a ponytail or a messy bun, or just even, if, like your pillow, rubs against the ends of your hair, when it's wet it's more prone to damage. In those situations and from my hair, leaving it to air dry causes significant damage to the ends over time, and I know this because I air dried, my hair, pretty much my entire like teenage years and my the ends of my hair were so incredibly damaged and Just they felt like straw like you, could like hold them between your fingers. It would sound like you're like crinkling paper, so obviously my hair doesn't feel that way anymore and partially. I believe that's because I don't I never air dry, my hair, on the other hand, blow drying, obviously dries your hair faster, so your hair is not going to be in a fragile weekend state for as long blow dried hair is also usually much more detangled than Air dried hair, which also helps to prevent against damage, because, when you're like brushing your hair and your hair is really Tangled, even if you're doing it gently, that's very damaging for your hair. So, finally, my air, dried hair, gets oily faster than my blow dried hair. When I blow dry, my hair, I'm able to go longer in between washes, which ends up being better for my hair, because then my hair is not getting wet as often because I'm not washing it as much so. Therefore, it's not getting as damaged. Also, I don't just use a regular blow, dryer, which I don't know if I have it over here, but I use the life in blow dryer, that's typically what I use. I will link it below in the description. It'S a really great Dyson dupe, but most of the time I use the air wrap which, whereas the air wrap. Oh, I put it away already. Okay, so I use the air wrap a lot. I love the air wrap. There'S nothing like I mean, there's dupes for the air wrap, but there is nothing like the OG air wrap. I just sectioned my hair horizontally. I do multiple sections and I use the small like the thinnest barrel size which I believe is 1.2 inches. This is the best one for your hair if your hair doesn't hold a curl that well um, because it's going to give you a tighter curl, which then will help it to last longer, and then I always apply a serum after I dry my hair. So I will either use the Moroccan oil treatment or I will use the olaplex bonding oil both help to add shine to my hair after I have finished blow drying it now, if it's humid out in that case, my hair would be really frizzy, then I'll go With something a little bit heavier than just using a serum, and I will use a mixture of a cream and a serum, so some of my favorite hair creams are the Redken acidic bonding, concentrate leave-in cream or the orbe super shine, moisturizing cream. Also, the olaplex smoothing cream. I believe it's called, but those are my favorite. There is one thing I wanted to leave for the very end, though, and that is the old Flex zero and olaplex number three. So I have used those two products religiously for the last like two years. They work amazingly, but you didn't see them in this video because I just don't have the time or the patience to use them anymore when I'm in the shower. All I want to do is shampoo and condition work, shampoo and use a hair mask, and I just want to be done with it from there with like the hair care routine in the shower. Olaplex takes time you have to shampoo and then you have to apply the number zero and then you have to wait and then you have to apply number three and then you have to wait and although I feel like olaplex works, amazingly I'm just trying to focus On protecting my hair so that I don't have to even use a repair treatment as much as I used to and ways that I am protecting against damage. That would be by always always using a heat protection and making sure to apply it to the parts of my hair that I know tend to get more damaged, which would be like underneath my hair here. This, for some reason, like the bottom section of my hair, tends to get a lot more damaged than any other part of my hair. I also make sure to use silicones when I can in my hair care products because they protect my hair. I trim my hair regularly, which is about once every three to four months. I avoid hairstyles that could damage my ends. I try not to do super messy buns anymore because they tend to damage the ends of my hair, and I do other things like I sleep with my hair in a very loose fan, bun at the top of my head or in a loose braid or a Loose twist and then, of course, making sure my hair doesn't fully air dry, making sure I'm not using hair straighteners on my hair, excessively making sure I'm not using curling irons on my hair excessively and just stuff like that. So that has been my full hair care. Routine, I really hope you guys enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for watching. Thank you so much for your support. I appreciate every single one of you and I will talk to you guys next time.

Lauren Kellie: I noticed when I don’t blow dry my hair it’s gets oiler faster and looks super frizzy. I just wait till it’s 80% dry before I dry it. Rosemary water has been an absolute game changer for my hair shedding. It’s so easy to make and inexpensive. You taught me so much, Aubrey. If it wasn’t for all your tips I’ve followed over the years my hair would be horrible, like it was after I got Covid. Thank you.♥️

Aviee: Your hair is goals The first time I saw you on tik tok I was like "I need to have hair like that " I followed your tips and started taking better care of my hair and my hair looks soo much healthier &so similarly to yours, and it keeps growing! I just made your rosemary water recipe and got the same bottle you shared. I do it morning and night. I love it so far. I have about 5 more inches to go ❤ Thank you for what you do!

Aida F.: Absolutely GORGEOUS as always Audrey Victoria!! I've been seeing more videos on Rosemary water and definitely trying this because I LOVE Rosemary, in plant form and essential oil!! Rosemary oil has definitely helped my hair grow!! And I love oils for scalp massages and using all these oils mentioned as a pre-poo for an hour!! Using oils but especially, healthier eating have been key in helping my hair grow!!❤️

Corpse Candy: You literally have Disney princess hair!!! Love your videos, I’ve been going through a huge depression lately but watching your videos makes me motivated to take care and pamper myself and love myself. Thank you Audrey! ❤️

deartotheheart: I genuinely am so glad you covered the blow drying tactic - I had seen so many videos saying that it was so bad for your hair so I stopped blow drying and only naturally drying....and lo and behold, I had the most frizz, dried out, damage-prone hair I had ever had in my life. I am so glad I realized air drying is not suitable at least for me and my thinner hair type. I wait until it is over half dry while its soaking up all the after shower treatments (oil, heat protectant, leave in conditioner, etc) and then dry and it has saved my hair again. I'm looking forward to trying that Redken acidic bonding perfecting cream and other oil treatments post blowdrying as you're right, every time I have put oil in my dry hair it has helped tame the frizz/humidity and I'm hoping that those products or ones similar might help my hair become even more shiny and health like yours. Just goes to show that you need to find what works for you and not believe that only one way is right in regards to what works best for you and your needs. Thanks for the great video and nice to see you again Aubrey

TK: I love that you mix and match shampoos and conditioners. Matching them is like an extra stress in my life

Janelle: Love watching haircare routines, especially yours and I also missed the face-to-camera videos, so it makes me happy that you made one today hope you have a wonderful day!

Eira Mu: I’ve been on this hair journey for the last two years and your videos have definitely helped a lot to learn and try. Definitely going to try the rosemary water and the blow drying my hair out. I love in a very hot and humid African country. Please, if you have any tips and tricks there too!!! Desperately needed

Rambrosius: I'm so glad I found this video. I have been considering growing out my hair (I've had a pixie cut for about 6 years) and I've been watching hair care videos for about four days now and so far this is the only video where the person speaking has a very similar hair type to mine: thin, bone-straight, oily. I've never been able to go more than 3 days without washing my hair. Thank you for your input, I've saved this video for when my hair actually does start to grow out so I can find these products and routine patterns again. ❤❤ (It's especially great because we have the same name lol).

Fabulous Adriana: BEST 19 minutes of my life!!! Thank you Audrey! I will definitely consider these products!!!!

Aaron Edwards: Awesome video as always Audrey! Almost 1.5M too!! You’ve come such a long way!!

Sisters talk: The amount of time she touches her hair makes me wanna cry, you can see it getting greasy. Btw I freaking love you sm, you've helped so much during my hair growth journey <3

Aida F.: I LOVE your curly ends and you've inspired me to start using curlers on my ends!!❤️

Laura Padilla: Love your videos so much ❤Just wondering if you still use coconut oil on your lengths/ends? Also, do you only use heat protectant before heat styling? or do you use heat protectant spray + an oil? I feel like I might be using too many products in my hair

Despina Chalkidoy: omg, you can definitely wash a wooden brush, you just shouldn't let it soak, unlike the regular plastic ones

M E E P: Hey Audrey, most of your hair masks contains silicones right? Do you use them in your clarifying routine?

Mia: I just love the Eleven Australian brand it’s helped my hair so much. ❤ thanks to my hair stylist she taught me about these products and what works for my hair.

Tallulah Brown: You hair is so healthy Btw you can use K18 if you don't have the time for olaplex 0 n 3

Fatima S: hi audrey! would you be able to review the randco television shampoo and some of the davines products and randco products for hair growth/thickening? i love your videos!

Mila Bo: Have you ever tried silicone oil for hair? I heard about them but they are so hard to find

Alesmr: Girl you totally can wash a wooden hairbrush!! I have mine for years :) .. you can wash it with acv water and soap/ shampoo

Elizabeth Yates: Really enjoyed this video, thank you for an honest hair care routine. I just love you!

Miranda Johnson: keeping the oil in you’re hair for a few hours is good cause it’s setting in your hair for awhile getting the job done.

Mari p: You are a life saver!! Thank you for your tips

Jasmin Berg kopecky: I really love this hair color on you, its not too dark or too light. It fits you perfectly

Winter2022 California: THE ONLY REAL WAY THAT THE HAIR WILL GROW, IS KEEPING THE ENDS PERFECTLY HEALTHY. .. PUTTING ALL THOSE OILS AT THE ENDS WILL HELP PROMOTE HAIR GROWTH.

Debbie Ventimiglia: It's important to add a protein mask once a month, your hair can get over moisturized

Baeily: how long did it take to grow your hair out?

Shakira Smylie: Yay it's so good to see her beautiful face and I'm very excited to see her video and her hair is so healthy and beautiful

ac: Is SLS what's found in cleansing shampoos? So the shampoo that you recommend using every 2 weeks or so?

flora bliss: Hi…great recommendations…I love watching your hair videos all the time …they are relaxing to watch ..can you please make a skin care routine as well…your skin is absolutely amazing and glowy.. what is the secret…? Thanks.

Aishwarya Eswaran: Hi Audrey please provide your product recommendation for low porosity hair as I'm suffering to select shampoos and conditioners

cutie: love your videos what’s your opinion on k18? have you tried it ?

Rania Ebbouch: Hey girl love your hair Thanks for the video I just want to ask You told us that you are washing your hair every 3 days Does it mean that also every 3 days you use pre wash and mask? And letting a mask just for 4 or 5 min is it really efficient? I alway thought thay we should let it for long hour

Natasha: My hair dries really fast when it’s air dries I hate when the hairdressers use the hairdryer it leaves a weird smell I know it is damaging. It depends on hair texture and what you prefer.

Melina: This is just a question.. won’t just putting oil on your hair then just washes it out immediately not do anything for your hair? I have somewhat oily hair, and I leave oils in my hair for 2-3 hours then I wash. Ofc everyone is different!

Scarlet Woolcott: Does your hair look as good as it does with and without silicones

Ana-Maria: You can wash your wooden brush with some hand soap or gentle shampoo, dry off excess water with a paper towel and then let it dry completely at least for a day. Soaking it for a long time is what destroys the wood as well as not letting it dry before storing it.

Kim Anh Nguyễn: Hi can I use rosemary oil or water during pregnancy? Thank you

Mounscape: I just want to tell you that as a woman of 28, you helped learn how to take a bath.

What About: Tes cheveux sont sublimes

Tampha k: Thanks for sharing your haircare routine ❤ and your hair soo beautiful

JuneBug_89: TX for all this valuable info!

Chanel Harper: Anyone that can suggest products like these in South Africa (looking for budget friendly)? The only cost effective option I can find that Audrey has used is Herbal Essences. Everything else I have to import or the price is just unreachable...

Lisa Crawford: I'm just the opposite! I think that they can do a whole lot better with the products that are out there!

Laura Knaus: I use a lightweight 100% cotton long sleeve to dry my hair.

angela muan: hi Audrey I just wanted to thank u for not gatekeeping ur hair tips and products! i rlly appreciate it!

Mikayla Lynn: Your hair is gorgeous!!!

Annesa Sharma: What should I do for my hair if I have PCOD ?

Ahalya Bala: Wait did I hear that right? You buy a new hairbrush every month?? I know wood brushes are biodegradeable but that seems awfully wasteful to repurchase so often. I have a TEK brush which is quite expensive so I just clean it every week by removing all the hair/dust that accumulates on the bristles then I shampoo, wash and airdry it. Don't let it soak in water though, or else the wood will splinter.

taffyrosee: Omgg Yess I'm trying thisss! Can u plzzz do some hairstyles for lots of layers and not French braids or twists bcs I can only do it on one side

Iffat Jahan Swarna: Hi! Can you tell me which method is good for hair wash after oiling? After oiling i wash my hair with Loreal paris extraordinary clay shampoo. But oil residue still my scalp + hair. My hair type normal but scalp is super oily. I shampoo everyday with ogx sulfate free shampoo & oiling 2 times in a week. love from Bangladesh ❤

Zaima Zahan: Your hair looks so pretty and healthy. Can you suggest some drugstore conditioners for smooth and shiny hair?
