♪ [ music, ] ♪ Hi. It'S Dominique. Great, to see you this week.. Before I launch into this week's video, I have a big, exciting announcement.. I am coming to TalkShopLive on Wednesday March 2 at 8:00 Eastern 7:00 Central.. It is going to be my first opportunity on a new platform to talk about my new book. ,'' Life Makeover, Embrace the Bold, Beautiful and Blessed You ,'', and it will also be your first opportunity to get a signed copy of that book.. What I've decided to do is invite my dear friend Dr. Susan to join me, because I want it to be this wonderful conversation about living, boldly and beautifully and well in midlife.. So she and I are going to chat for a while.. It'S interactive. You can ask us questions., So please follow my TalkShopLive channel you'll be notified when I go live. And I will also provide a link on my social media platforms, the day of again Wednesday March 2, to let you know that I will be live. 7 p.m. Central on TalkShopLive., My first time., So excited can't wait to see you there. Okay. On with the show as they say. We are tackling dry damaged, angry hair hair that needs help.. I am a skilled professional in this area., As somebody who has colored her hair since age 12, which you'll read about in my book. By the way I have learned what it takes to take care of color-treated frizzy, dry yeah. I got that too naturally hair.. So I'm kind of running the gamut here. We're going to talk about products that will take you from pre-shower through shower after shower and beyond.. So let's go right in.. Let me also just share with you ..., because I think this is really important.. I did not run out and buy any of these products for this video.. I have had all of these here at my house., As you can see by looking in my cabinet space, I have a lot of product.. I try a lot of different things, because haircare is really important to me.. All of these products are products that I use. I love and that's why they're getting featured here today., So we're going to begin. First of all, with the pre-shower treatments., One of my favorite lines for dry and damaged hair haircare bonding the hair back into good health is the Olaplex line.. So let's talk about the first two. Okay, This is Olaplex No.0 and this is Olaplex No.3.. They really work together. And I take the Olaplex No.0. It'S the Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment.. It really primes your hair for deeper repair, it rebuilds the hair bonds. It strengthens and it protects the hair integrity.. This is actually used first in a two-part system with Olaplex No.3, which is the Hair Perfector.. It'S a treatment that reduces breakage and it strengthens the hair, improving how it looks and feels.. This is .... Literally, it's like a liquid, it's water., So I'm going to show you it just literally drips out., And so you take your hair and you basically, with the pointed tip section by section, run it through your hair, pull it through completely saturate all your hair with No.0.. Okay, Then you take the No.3, which is more of a thick cream ... like so., And you take that product after No.0 has been sitting on your hair for a good 10 minutes. You take No.3, you then add it to No.0, you pull it through and you let that set for another 10 minutes.. So basically, this is a 20-minute hair treatment before you even get into the shower and tackle shampoo and conditioner. What I love about Olaplex products. All of them are the same.. They do not have nuts parabens phosphates, phthalates, glutens, sulfites, DEA, aldehydes and formaldehyde.. It'S a very clean product and I think that's super important to talk about., Oh - and this is something that you can use two to three times a week. If needed., So it's something that can be done, pretty regularly. Olaplex line you're going to see a little more of throughout this video as well.. So the next product that I want to share with you is one by Oribe. And Ceron gave me this one. And by the way Ceron is offering his pro salon treatments as well, and I'm going to have all of that in the description portion. For you of this video, along with all of these products. Ceron, turned me onto this one. This is Oribe Gold Lust., And this is a pre-shampoo. Intensive treatment for damaged hair. Runs about 60 bucks-ish. So it's a little bit on the higher side.. This treatment balm melts into the hair. It deeply moisturizes and it repairs while protecting against washing styling and pollution. It softens. It adds shine and strength. It protects hair from damage and moisture loss.. This is a very thick product, as you can see.. I'M almost empty. This one, you can see it's super shiny, you're, seeing the reflectivity on my hands., So you don't want to get this on your root., So you go from just below the root on down or where you have damage.. Now, in my case, because my blonde is all the way up at the root, sometimes you can just put it on the palm of your hands anchor your fingertips in your hair and then just pull it through., And that way more of the ends will get the Product itself, as opposed to the root., So that's a really really good technique. If you don't want to get any of this on your root area, because it can weigh the hair down, which is what we're trying to avoid., But this treatment you leave on for 10 to 20 minutes before you get into the shower, and then you carry on With your shampoo and conditioner., This stuff is magic. There'S a reason why it's as expensive as it is. It's a top seller. It can be a little tough to find, but most salons do have it.. I know Ceron does. And Gold Lust is amazing. Okay.. So now you are in the shower and it's time to shampoo your hair.. Let me just say this: there are a gazillion products out there when it comes to shampoo and conditioners for dry damaged, hair. To me, the treatments before and what you do after are probably a little bit more important than a specific brand.. So you can find a lot of brands. There are a lot of brands. Just look for a shampoo that says: `` damage, control, ,'''', protective ,'', `` color, safe ,'', ``, sulfate free.''. If you can find more of those frees parabens phthalates, all of that the better., But look for something that is rich moisturizing and protective of the hair.. So the one that I found that I like is Joico and it's Defy Damage Protective Shampoo for bond, strengthening and color., And would you look at the size of this thing? It'S absolutely massive.. This one is sulfate-free less breakage stronger hair maintains color vibrancy.. It gently removes dirt and debris without stripping the hair and roughing up the cuticle.. My tip is, you know they always say: ,'' Apply product, rinse, lather repeat.''. I think it's so that we buy more shampoo.. I shampoo once.. Now maybe it's because I have short hair and you longer hair gals might need to shampoo twice. But if that's the case, it's only because there's probably a ton of product in your hair or whatnot.. If you can get away with shampooing only once I would highly encourage it, because it's stripping less moisture away from the hair. Now the conditioner that I'm going to follow up with is another one by Olaplex., And this is their No.5.. No.5 is a Bond Maintenance Conditioner.. It repairs strengthens and nourishes for all hair types.. This one is 8.5 ounces. It'S $ 28. Again. I found it at Ulta.. What I do is I shampoo with the Joico and then I will condition with Olaplex No.5 leave it on for a good 3 to 5 minutes, and then you can rinse it and carry on and get out of the shower and do all of that.. Let'S now talk about in-shower masques., There are many things that we can do in the shower. That are a little bit more intensive.. Let'S say you don't have as much time as maybe with these pre-shower treatments, but you want something a little richer and a little deeper.. The first masque that I'm going to talk about is one by celebrity stylist, Chris Appleton and ColorWow. It'S called Money., It's a masque for super glossy, healthy hair, 7.5 ounces.. This one will run you $ 45.. It'S for all hair types. It has blue sea kale, Mediterranean algae to hydrate, for silky supple, hair weightless formula for fine thin hair as well. The tip. Is you shampoo, you remove the excess water. You apply a generous amount of this product.. There'S your nice, pretty blue, Mediterranean sea color.. Leave it in your hair for a good 3 to 5 minutes and then rinse it out.. You can use it once a week more if needed, but it's a more intensive therapy for the hair, but this is more of a hair masque.. So the next product I want to talk about is by Brazilian Blowout. You're. Probably asking `` Well wait! A second do I have to have a Brazilian blowout in order to use their products ?'', And the answer is no, you don't., But if you do, it certainly helps to prolong the treatment.. What I like about this one is it's an in-shower, masque, they're Acai, Deep Conditioning Masque. You can get it on Amazon for $ 34.. It'S reconstructive. It strengthens and smooths the hair while eliminating frizz and promoting shine.. You just do it on clean, wet hair.. Now this one you leave on for longer, they suggest 10 to 20 minutes., So let's say you've showered and you want this treatment to stay on a little bit. Longer., You can apply it get out of your shower, wrap your hair up in a towel with this treatment in for 20 minutes. Do some other things and then you can rinse your hair out in the sink or get back in the shower.. Now another thing you can do with this one is: you can use this as a leave-in overnight treatment., So just get your hair damp apply this conditioning masque and then use it to sleep with.. Then you rinse it out in the morning., Especially for you gals, who deal with frizz. The Brazilian Blowout line is just absolutely amazing for that., So I can't say enough good stuff about it. Okay., So we are going to move on now to products that we use. After the shower things that have heat protectant, a little extra layer of conditioning a little extra layer of frizz control., The first one that I want to talk about is another Brazilian Blowout product., And this one is the Protective Thermal Straightening Balm $ 23.80 on Amazon.. It'S a heat activated formula that strengthens and straightens waves and curls. It tames the frizzies and it protects hair from heat.. It'S also humidity-resistant.. So if you live anywhere in the world where there's humidity, this can be your best friend as well, because you - and I both know that humidity on dry hair just makes it look godawful.. So the tip is after you've, gotten out of the shower. You'Ve cleansed conditioned all of that. You apply a generous amount to towel-dried hair. You work it through., You need heat activation, so your blow dryer is what activates it. It helps to straighten smooth and make hair look really really healthy and shiny.. So this is awesome for that. A product that I absolutely adore. This really really applies to my blonde gals or anybody who has overprocessed hair it's by Virtue Labs.. It is their Split End. Serum 1.7 ounces, 42 bucks found it at Dermstore.. This stuff is amazing.. I mean, I can't even tell you, because you know when you bleach you're, going to get split ends., So this is a product that will repair and seal those broken ends while protecting against future fray.. It restores hair, color and vibrancy and it protects against heat.. So this you apply after you've, towel-dried your hair about a quarter-size amount, kind of a creamy product.. I take it and wherever I have damage I twist it through.. I just kind of hit those ends and I twist and I pull. And I tell you what it's as if those split ends just disappeared and you blow-dry as usual. But man that stuff is amazing for split ends.. You know if you're still trying to let your hair grow, you don't want to cut it all off holy guacamole. This Virtue product is incredible., Incredible., Okay, another one to mention.. Again, this is an after cleansing conditioning treatment. This is before blow dry., It's another one. By Olaplex, it's No.6 they're Bond, Smoother 3.3 ounces, 28 bucks at Ulta.. Now this one. I also combine because I do like the oils, the heat protectant oils, and this is Olaplex No.7, 6 and 7.. You put these two together in the palm of your hand and you distribute., But what they do is No.6. The cream is going to reduce frizz and fly-aways for up to 72 hours.. It will make your blow dry faster and it's for all hair types.. Now the No.7 is that highly concentrated, weightless oil. And it increases shine, softness and color vibrancy.. So these two together are just like our beginning: Olaplex No.0 and No.3. They work in tandem and they work so well and so beautifully together in protecting that hair, shaft bonding it, giving you a heat-protected blowout and making your hair look shiny and great on the back end of that blowout.. So to me, I can't style without product. In my hair. I just need that extra ..., my hair, is too dry without it.. Now, here's something that I'm going to tack on that may surprise you a little bit. And let's talk about dry, shampoos. And you're thinking, `` Whoa whoa. Wait a minute we're dealing with dry hair. Why do we now want to go into dry shampoo, ?''? Let me tell you why., Because anything that we can do to lengthen the time between shampoos is a good thing for your hair.. I'Ve become a huge fan of dry shampoos.. There are so many on the market. I literally shampoo my hair twice a week.. That'S it twice a week.. The first one is by Hask Chia Seed, long-lasting oil, absorption, free of sulfates and parabens.. This sucker is so affordable, 6.5 ounces $ 8.39.. It uses rice starch to absorb the oil. The sweat and the odor has a really nice floral scent.. Here is my little pro tip on using a dry shampoo.. Most people will wait and go 3 days 4 days. Hair gets really oily and start using.. Nuh-Uh use it on the second day. Start, using it immediately to absorb the oil.. This one says that you shake well, you hold about 6 to 8 inches away spray, it in. And you wait for about 30 seconds, and then you can take a brush and brush it through or you can just take your fingers. Because when your hair is shorter, I like finger styling., So you just sort of spray it where you need it. You know your part line whatever and you just massage it in with the fingers and that's it. And it's an instant volumizer as well, because the minute you get rid of that oil along the root line. Suddenly your hair springs up again, just like it was freshly washed. The next one that I want to add it's my last product almost last is by Healium., And this one is called aiHr DRY Shampoo quickly absorbs the excess oil, the sweat and the odor, but it Adds a nice sunscreen for extended color longevity.. If you have red hair reddish-brown, you know that color fades quicker than anything., So any product that has a sunscreen in it to help protect color fading is huge.. This one you hold about 10 to 12 inches away from your hair. You spray from root to end., Same thing: you let it sit, and then you can take your fingers or brush.. Now a lot of you. If you've used a dry shampoo, you may notice that it can leave sort of a lightish or whitish deposit which can be troublesome if you have darker hair.. So I did a little research and I found a really popular product, a dry shampoo for dark hairs by Moroccanoil., It's their Dry, Shampoo, Dark Tones and it's 4.8 ounces, 26 bucks on Amazon.. So I'm going to put that product in the description. If you're looking for a dry shampoo and you have dark hair., This one is highly rated lots of great reviews and I think it'll be super super helpful for you as well.. I want to finish it off with a styling product., And this is helpful if again, you've got really dry ends or, if you just kind of want to smooth things out and have a PC, look. And I've featured this. My gosh, I can't even tell you how many times since I discovered it in the drugstore haircare video. I did a while ago. Garnier Fructis Pure Clean, it's a pomade., But you know it's amazing. What just a little pomade can do when you take it and you just sort of take individual pieces and pull them through., And it immediately just gets rid of that kind of frizzy. Look that fly-away look. It just instantly makes your hair look healthier.. So I think that a finishing paste, if needed again for processed hair, especially if you have any breakage damage fly-aways. This can be a wonderful sort of finishing product., So very affordable. It'S like 5 bucks or something at the drugstore or wherever. Ceron. Like I mentioned put his picks., I wanted to include him., So his choices are there. If you really want to pull out the big guns and go to salon-quality products, kind of like the Oribe and, above his recommendations, are in there. If your hair is like screaming `` Help, I need some help.''. He wanted to hook you up as well. These products. I love them. I use them., They help me. They allow me to go really blonde. They allow me to process and still look like. I have healthy hair. And isn't that what it's all about Any suggestions that you might have things that are working for you, please put them in the comment section below.. I know my ladies would love to hear from you any input thoughts you have would be fabulous. Future video ideas, of course, always welcome. In between these Thursday videos, I'm on social media, all the time.. So, if you're not on Instagram with me, yet what are you waiting for? Personally, I love Instagram, it's my jam. Instagram's, my jam., So go over there. Of course, I'm on Facebook, too. And again the TalkShopLive coming up on March 2.. I can't wait to see you there. Too. Please, go out, be bold and be blessed. This week. Try out some new haircare products. Take care of your coif, make it look beautiful. Just like you. And I'll see you next Thursday. At 1., Bye-bye

Tara McKinney: I would love to see a session that shows how to fight turkey neck and chest wrinkles. Love what you do for all us aging ladies. Thank you!

TonySopranoswife: I’ve followed you for years and have watched alongside you as you “experiment” monthly with hair color and hair fashion and yet your hair always looks super healthy so I respect your opinion on hair products. If I experimented as much as you, I’d be bald! Cheers for this valuable info ………& you’re looking especially FANTASTIC!!

Lana Legge: Yes, I'm with you on only shampooing once! I started doing that four months ago and it's making a big difference with my dry hair, frizzies and split ends. I switched up my shampoo and conditioner too. I used to feel that moisturizing shampoos /conditioners would weigh my hair down, so I chose volume over moisture. I used Mark Anthony's Volumizing line for many years, which I did like despite my dry hair, but switching to his Argan Oil Hydrating Shampoo with keratin has given me moisture without sacrificing volume at all! My hair is feeling so much better, not like it's coated with something I don't want on there. There's less frizz, less breakage in my hair brush, less hair going down the drain when washing, and it's definitely shinier. And my scalp is far less dry and itchy in our cold Canadian winters. It says "shine&shimmer" on the bottle and I don't think that's false advertising. I have to colour my roots every 3 weeks and usually by that point my hair would be looking pretty dull and thirsty. Not now! I hope this helps somebody too. Thanks for another very informative video, Ms. Dominique!

Jodi Horner: Dominique, I want to write a note of encouragement and gratitude. I discovered you first when I was looking at stylish "bob" hairstyles. The "four ways to style short hair" video from years ago. I've happened upon you several times since and you just really speak to me! You encourage me to know that "it ain't over" at 50!" Girlfriend still has game ;-) Your "facelift" makeup tutorial, make up recommendations, dressing well, and now this hair damage video, it is all so helpful and gives me confidence to feel empowered in my walk through middle age. THANK YOU! You are beautiful in your wisdom, outlook and of course, externally ;-)

Raven Fieri: Of all the cosmetic channels out there, I love yours the most. You get to the point, try lots of “drugstore dupes” that work well, to show us how they do on mature skin, also include high end cosmetics (which I use some of) and the way you speak is so appealing to me. You’ve got some wonderful ideas, and I’d like to thank you for all your dedication, time, and effort. Always a job very well done. You’re so beautiful!

Lisa C: Great video!! A few extra tips > To avoid white residue when using dry shampoo - spray on root area. Blow dry with hot air to heat the product. This helps to penetrate the product onto the hair shaft and dissolve the extra. Thoroughly brush hair afterwards. >After shampoo/conditioner treatments always rinse hair with cool water to close the cuticle, lock in moisture and shine. > Use a wide tooth comb in the shower to comb through your conditioners/treatments. This is very helpful to distribute the product root to end on all hair types/length. Tangle free saves split ends. Hairstylist Lisa.

V. 1954: Three years ago, I was going through a very stressful time that resulted in some pretty severe hair shedding. My hair was always thick so this shook me to my core. (I had my hormones-I take bioidenticals-and thyroid checked out and they were fine). I tried the Olaplex #3; I don't think #0 was available at that time. I left #3 on my hair with a shower cap for a few hours and then shampooed and conditioned. My hair began to show improvement but when the lockdowns were in effect, I made the decision to stop coloring my hair. This was a personal choice and not for the faint of heart; my hair was very dark. Two years later, and my hair is in great shape; I love the streaking of the silver and I use Olaplex Purple Shampoo for every third round of shampooing. Hair products are so personal What works for one has terrible results for others. Dominique, I look forward to your videos and wish you the best always. God bless.

Jenni Y: You’ve provided us with a goldmine of information here; thank you, Dominique! I will be giving some of these products a try! Dry shampoo is a great idea, and I’ll be doing that now. Along those lines, it was suggested to me to instead of wash my hair (if it’s not too dirty) just rinse and condition, skipping the shampoo altogether. You look beautiful, by the way.

LAURA BENSON: Love your videos and can't wait to buy your book. Thanks for your suggestions for hair care products, too. I'll definitely be adding a few to my routine, especially the Oribe. I'd love to see more fashion videos. I'm 61 and frequently find it a struggle to find things that look fresh and modern without looking like I went to Forever 21.

64Biina: Thanks for offering us yet another informative video Dominique! I'm a huge Virtue Labs fan and can highly recommend the Exfoliating Scalp Treatment. It's a great deep cleansing scalp scrub and also a conditioning treatment for your hair. I believe that scalp health is super important, especially during menopause. xx

Reina: Hello Dominique - I agree with others by saying you are starting to look happier and you look beautiful. Your hair and cut also looks great on you. I'm so happy to see how well you are doing and I will also buy your book. thank you for today. :)

Julie Caron: I've tried so many products over the years and was losing my mind and my hair, but what really made a difference for me was: 1. Always sleeping with hair braded or up in a pineapple, and always covering the hair with a silk-satin scarf or bonnet...or else, that is 8h-10h of rubbing your hair against your pillow! 2. Covering the headrest in the car with a silk-satin scarf (the hair rubbing against it breaks easily, especially if you commute 3 hours a day in the car like I do for work!) 3. Taking a multivitamin a day 4. Doing an oil treatment, leaving it 30 min in the hair before shampoo and always a mask, then a leave-in before gel or mousse. Oils: olive, coconut, castor, almond, macadamia, whatever you have in the cupboard and mix them up! TGIN leave-in and mask have been the only products that finally worked on my frizzy hair. 5. Least amount of heat possible and wash with warm-cold water, never hot. After 50 years of troublesome hair, at last, a winning formula that won't break the bank and my hair is silky and shiny, not brittle, dry. If it works for you too, amazing!!!

Jackie Jamieson: Thanks for showcasing so many products, they’re all new ones on me! A product I’ve started using recently that I love is K18 leave-in molecular repair hair mask that my hairdresser put me onto. It really tames my frizz and gives my fine hair more body - what’s not to love

Felicia Quinn: Am I the only one that is Binge-watching Lady "D"? Love Love Love you and Thank you for helping me Live and love my way out of an 12 year bout with depression and oppression. You are so inspiring, you keep it 100%. Your energy and faith give so much life. I cannot wait to ride along with you for this next chapter in your life. You're showing me how to triumph over tragedy. Continued love and blessings!

Kelly M: For ladies with thin or fine hair, the Gisou mask is so good without weighing down the hair: I went through at least a year of trying different hair masks and this one is soooo good. Thanks for the terrific video Dominque!

Sue: I’ve tried several of the Olaplex products but need to try the #0 as well as the Virtue for split ends and breakage. Thank you so much for these recommendations, Dominique. Always appreciate your input and expertise. ☺️

Deb Gallucci: Great video, Dominique! Very informative and I will be making some new purchases based on this video. A suggestion for a future video - could you do a segment on transitioning from color processed to natural grey hair color? It's a trend I've been watching and recently decided to take the plunge! But there are so many options and opinions out there on how to do it! Help us!

Michele Ramirez: Great tips and products for dry hair!! Thank you! My goodness, it’s a daily struggle keeping the fizzy away! I have naturally curly, long and processed hair! I’ve also learned my hair looks so much healthier when I only wash it twice a week! Another great video

Chelsa Brinkman: Thank you for these great ideas! The most beneficial thing that I have ever implemented was a suggestion that came from my stylist. She said to use either only one line or the entire line of one brand of product. She said that product developers intend for the products to work together, and I have to say, I have really seen a difference since I started implementing that.

Brigitte Flurry: Thank you Dominique, you truly do listen to your fan base. I had requested this exact topic about a month ago so thank you so much. I only wash my hair 3 times a week, sometimes I try to only do it twice but rarely. Been hesitant about trying out the dry shampoo but if you recommend it, I'm on it! Thank you for your valuable input on tips and tricks as well as the products. You are beautiful inside and out. You always put a smile on my face when I watch these videos. May God grant you peace today.

Mojgan Sabour: I can not express my love and admiration toward you. Your videos are always inspired me just like a time to meditate or have a release from this crazy world. Having said that happy to have you in my life. Be bold and brilliant as you are ❤️

Susan Ekisian: I love the Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Finishing Paste! I swear by it. It's perfect to apply on your hair after you blow-dry it. It tames all the fly aways and leaves your hair so soft with no residue or buildup, and it smells so clean. It's my holy grail hair product!

Maria Vasquez: I recently purchased olaplex 3 and I loved the way my color treated hair felt like after treatment. I didn’t realize I had to use it with number 0. I’ll have to try it

Dr. Steff: Another wonderful video with lots of brilliant ideas! Thank you , Dominique! I love Olaplex products very much ! My hear is dry and colored, so it needs a protective and hydration products all the time . What I am definitely going to give a try are dry shampoos :) What I also love and use very much is the Spanish brand - Montebello . I do not know if you have it over seas . Looking forward for March 2nd ! :)

BarbJ: Your videos are always inspiring and make me try new things I had never thought of before. Thank you, Dominique.

EC: My stylist (who I don’t buy products from, so he’s unbiased) says shampooing the hair twice is akin to double cleansing the face. Shampooing twice helps me to get more days in between, too.

Jeanette Barr: Great video. I really appreciate all your help. Trying different products is exhaustive for me. Thank you so much for all of your insight, and doing it for me!

peggy johnson: Great video! I use the Olaplex line, too, and love it! My hair is actually wavy and frizzy, but nobody believes me, because the products help SO much! During the hot, humid Indiana summers, or if I am going on a beach vacay, I have my wonderful stylist give me a keratin treatment. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but anyone with frizzy hair will tell you that it is worth the investment! Some other products that work well for me are L'Oreal's Wonder Water Rinse-Out Treatment, Color Wow Dream Coat before blow-drying (Dominique, you turned me onto this in one of your videos - THANK YOU!!), and Crack Original Styling Creme to add shine and control after blow-drying. Dominique, you are SO gorgeous and SO helpful and SO encouraging. Keep doing what you are doing! I look forward to your content each week!

Debbie McKnight: Dominique thanks so much for all these options! Love your blow dry tutorials!!

Loril L: Congrats on the book! Amazing! Love olaplex although with my thick stick straight hair I use different products within their line… and love ag hair care: slip (dry oil), so nice to moisturize my silver hair and shiny! Love it.

70’slady Always: Oh boy, this video is right up my alley! I have been trying to get my hair in better condition. I sleep with Olaplex #3 overnight and then do my hair routine. I really look at the PH of hair products and the protein as my hair reacts to those in a + or - way.

Chelsea Summers: I’ve tried Olaplex myself and it’s okay, but too many products and too pricy. I recently went from being a dark brunette to quite a light shade of dark blonde. The thing that saved my straw like hair was a product called K 18. Hands-down best thing I ever.tried. I’m so impressed with the results, that I’m never going going back to using Olaplex.

Amy Galvin: Great choices. As a licensed cosmetologist I’m so glad you mentioned Olaplex. Depending on which of their 8 products it can really make a difference. However, there are no miracles even at the salon. Sometimes a good haircut is the best option back to the healthy hair road.

higherlivingPJW Last: Thank you for your reviews and recommendations. I have natural grey but still mostly dark. My greys are a little on the wild side so I believe these same products will help. I look forward to trying them. I definitely get the frizzies being in Texas.

Vickie Finney: Thank you for helping us with our dry hair. You helped us save a lot of money on products

Wendy Vincent: Loved this! How do you have so much knowledge about all this stuff?!! So useful and informative. You’ve tried this so we don’t have to try some expensive treatments that just don’t work but can try some of the products you love ❤️ Thanks

Leonor Juan: I can't also wait for your live presentation of the book! Thanks for sharing your tips Dominique

Kristin G: I'm only one third through the video, but I am so excited about this! My hair has been so limp and full of static. I can't seem to revive it. This is exactly the info I need! Thank you!!!!

Jamie Bianco: The Olaplex line is awesome! Your hair always looks SO good! Thanks for sharing the tips! ☺️

Jen Hen: Thanks to you I went and saw another stylist at Cerons studio for a Brazilian last fall. Ceron even stopped by to provide some coloring advice. I’m proudly transitioning to my silvers. The stylist recommended Brazilian Blowout products and I have been using them since. I only wash and dry my hair 2-3 times a week. But in between I have to use my flat iron to iron out some of the frizzies. All of the heat protectants I have seen are for use on damp hair. Does anyone use a protectant product on dry hair?

Sheila Kaiser: You are spot on with the Oribe Gold Luster. I’ve been using the whole line for a year now, it’s amazing. Also, how gorgeous is the scent?! ♥️

Michelle Labelle: Hi Dominique…love , love your haircut and color. As I’ve mentioned before…short hair really suits you. Also, I would love a video on how to apply spray tanning lotion. Thank you!

Hillary Roberts: Since adding a bond and gloss to my monthly salon color appt, my hair is so much easier to manage. Great products mentioned today.

Brenda J. Goodman: Another finishing pomade product I absolutely love is Sun Bum's "Surf Paste". It has UV protection, has a matte finish, it's vegan/cruelty free and has the BEST smell- makes you feel like you're on the beach! I'd love for you to try it and see how it compares to the Garnier Fructis one you like. I've tried that one, too and it is good- but Sun Bum's is even better, IMO. Thanks for the info on the dry shampoos. I have very fine, thin, color treated hair, and I usually wash every day (!!!), but I have used a few drug store foaming moose dry shampoos on days I don't shampoo. They seem to work pretty well. I may have to try the ones you suggested, though and see if I can get out of the habit of daily shampooing!

james cameron: Wonderful, thorough and to the point - classic Dominique!! I can't help but notice, almost with each new video, how incredibly toned your physique is becoming...esp. your arms -:) I know you're totally committed, like your mom, to regular exercise & yoga. I have watched those videos but I would love to see an update on your dietary preferences & routine. I'm guessing the egg on spelt toast is still a morning fav? LOL.....hugs Christine xo

Estela Lopez: I just pre-ordered your audiobook. Can’t wait! Thank you for ALL of your recommendations. I take screenshots of you to my hair stylist. Every. Single. Time. . If possible, any tips on preserving lash extensions? My own lashes are weak, so I’ve been told to

Diane Boross: Great suggestions here, from A - Z, you covered all bases, with style. Thank you, Dominique!

Jan Brownfield: I love all your videos and I have watched you for years also!!! I’m going to try all these products! Thank you for all the info & how to use them. I love your short hair & the color. I look forward to your book. ❤️

Judy Jeffries Corbutt: Glad I'm not the only one with tons of products. Loved this video. Also with all the personal changes you've shared recently with your new life changes you sure look wonderful and love the hair color and style. Thank you so much for sharing and I will definitely order your book. Can't wait. Also the instruction on shampoo bottle is actually a Trivia Pursuit question that asked "what was the one thing added on shampoo bottles to increase sales". And the answer was "repeat if necessary". Lol !! So you were right about it increasing purchases. Blessings to you

Jenna Burg: Love all olaplex ! Get it every month at salon too ! Also love Bumble and Bumble hair products ! And extra virgin coconut oil heated and put on my dry damaged natural curly hair !

Peaches Skin Care: Dominique how exciting. I just did a video on hair care. At 56 I have allowed my grey hair sparkle and I also have long healthy hair. I leave it in a bun a few days a week with leave in conditioner and it’s a game changer. Blessings Dominique and everyone Lisa

Jenni Y: Thank you for this wonderfully instructive video on combatting dry hair! Idea for upcoming video... spring fashion that works with flats like ballet flats or other dressier flats. Midi and maxi lengths? Also... would love a vlog on visiting resale/consignment shops in neighboring towns... hunting for pre-loved treasures at good prices.

Silvia García: Hello Dominique! Thank you for your tips about Dry hair (Mine is drier just the ends) .. I see you happier and I'm glad for you : ) Life is beautiful and you deserve to be happy.

Kay Acosta: I’ve had the olaplex 0 and 3 since the Sephora sale. You “influenced” me to try it!

trinichandy: Thanks Dominique for bringing us great products for hair. I will try some of them for my frizz hair. God bless.

Karen Walker: Another amazing and very helpful video from someone that has short damaged hair. Lol this will come in handy for me. Thank you for the info

Jenni Cabott: This was great always so helpful. I love redkin frizz dismiss shampoo and conditioner. Also aquage shine spray, and frizz dismiss deflate oil. Everyone’s hair responds differently, mine is frizzy, oily and dry.

Sun Flower: Absolutely love all your inspirational tips! Thank you kindly

Linda Gallaway -Moore: .Thank-you Dominique for the information about saving our hair! The instructions for the olaplex is fantastic. I used a fairly known shampoo which is for curly hair. As a consequence,I lost about 8 inches of length. I was fearful about olaplex, so I purchased from the l'Ange line. I use the borage oil shampoo and its conditioner and began to see results fairly quickly. I got really good results using their intense conditioners, you can also purchase various protective sprays, balms, leave in treatments and conditioners. There are frequent sales and discounts. I only wash hair twice a week but In winter mostly once per week. Really great results. My hair is looking forward to using olaplex. Thanks to everyone!!

Graceful Grace: Love your makeup! Please do a makeup tutorial for this look.

Pat Weber: I started watching you about a week or so ago. I have bought some new make-up and new clothes. Today, I bought about 5 or so hair care products, which I sorely needed. I have been using inexpensive shampoo and conditioner most of my life. One thing - the Olaplex No. 0 (from Ulta) has a trigger spray top now. You just move the tab underneath the trigger from one side or the other to unlock it. That took me a few minutes to figure out! LOL

Lynn Hughes: Loved this video. The color wow line is awesome as well especially for short hair that you want to straighten

Cher S: I'm going to try some of these! I have thin, dry, highlighted hair. Thanks so much for sharing! Could you do a video with all the makeup you are wearing today along with tanning tips for Spring? You look great!!

Anne Nishioka: You look gorgeous as always with an ever glowing look that I love! Love the topic on products for dry damaged hair due to coloring it. I have noticed lately that my hair easily breaks off just brushing it. It is shoulder length. It is colored a black color which is my natural color. My natural color has turned grey. I have tried to go with a lighter color but my grey hair is stubborn in taking a lighter color. I have colored my hair since I was 18 years old due to turning a premature grey. By the time I was in my late 20's early 30's I had totally grey hair.

Jasmine Neven: Thanks so much for this video . I have purchased the Olaplex No. 0 and 3. Works on my damaged hair. Love your videos.

Pat B: Very helpful, thank you! Your recommendations save us from reading all of the reviews because we all know that you know your stuff.

Stacy B: Thank you, Dominique. My hair is so dry and frizzy mid shaft to ends, but greasy at roots. Best of both worlds. Lol. Going to check out some of these products.

Irene Bolger: Great tips, thanks Dominique. Will definitely be trying the Brazilian Blowout thermal straightening balm!

Beatriz Sandoval: I love all your recommendations Dominique. Thank you

Tina Harris: Love this video it stops me making too many mistakes when trying to choose products. I would love you to do a make up tutorial to look fab when you go swimming. I still want to look nice in the water. Follow you every week. You always look so beautiful. Xx

Lina Monreale: Thank you for sharing!!! I have curly. Frizzy and dry hair, especially in the winter. This will help

Jen Schrock: Olaplex makes my scalp itchy. Can't wait for your book! I have loved your channel for a few years now and I've bought several hair care products because of you and loved it!

The Day Norma Jean Died : I honestly don't understand the Olaplex obsession. I've tried several of their products, and hated them all. They literally made my hair worse. Straw-like, and my hair wasn't even super damaged to begin with. I find that simple, cheap coconut oil, lightly warmed up and used as a mask before washing, works wonders.

Sandra Murray: I don’t have dry or overly damaged hair, so much of this really didn’t apply to me, but I always enjoy your videos and always come away with some useful advice from you! Especially liked your point of not using too much shampoo or too often (although I CAN NOT imagine only washing my hair 2/week)!! YIKES! I wouldn’t be able to leave the house for 5 of those 7 days!! But I liked the dry shampoo suggestions and found those and the pomade/finishing paste to be very “wallet-friendly”, so thanks for sharing! ✌️

J B: I woke up today looking forward to your new video and you did not disappoint! I love the content and I have dry hair, thank you so much. I use the Olaplex line and they are divine! I will try the others as well as the ones Cerone recommends. Love you Dominique

Sandy Greenstreet: I have dry and frizzy hair as well! I have my best hair days in the winter LOL! Thank you so much for this video.

Lidia Kuhn: Great information, there is another dry shampoo for dark hair BATISTE DARK HAIR (no white residue, it even covers bald spots (on scalpI) and cheaper . I have a cow-slick and I spray it on the spot and it darkens the scalp a little. I Love the short hair on you ❤️. So excited for your book release.❤️

Zee Akbar: Thanks Dominique for great tips Thanks for telling about dry shampoo to use it on a second day I use it much later so now I know To all your followers in commenting it's just hair use and buy whatever works for you and what one can afford Seriously people reading some of the comments on how expensive the products etc is it's your choice home remedies are great coconut oil is awesome use it

Landon Hill: You look absolutely stunning, Dominique! You ALWAYS look gorgeous, but I'm especially lovin' the hairstyle & highlights on you! Sending hugs~

Emmy T: I really like Batiste dry shampoo in Brunette. Thanks for the helpful tips. I'll be trying more of the Olaplex line now.

Deborah Eyer: I am 70. I have never colored my hair. I am beginning to get some gray now but not enough to cover it up. I am grateful that I haven't put toxic chemicals on my hair and scalp. But my hair is super dry due to using a curling iron. Thank you for product suggestions to help with this.

Robyn Schmigelski: Thank you for the generous hair tips and advice. You look beautiful as always

Sharon Nocera: Thank you Dominique! I’ve gone through your videos looking to see if you prefer keratin treatment or Brazilian treatment at salon. I’m looking for body and help for damaged hair. Which treatment did you prefer? Thank you Dominique!

Christina Scheurer: Thank you for the product suggestions. I am gradually going lighter with my hair color (trying something new) and worried about the damage to my hair. Last year I moved from the humid of Texas to the dry air of CO and my hair and skin are still adjusting. I was wondering about your nails. They are beautiful!! Are they your nails, dips, gel? Thanks again!!!!

Marianna B.: A brazilan blow out is a life saver for me and so is that conditioner. I have enough hair for four people - in volume. Naturally wavy and prone to frizz. The brazilian line is awesome!

Tracy9481: Loved this video! Thank you for all of the options!

Christina T: What a gem, this, great tips, also prior to going in the pool or ocean, I put cream conditioner to protect the follicle, just like doing a pre shower treatment, if I don't I get really frizzy hair. Thank you for including dry shampoo tip for us brunettes

Rene: You look absolutely beautiful in this video! It's exactly the look that I go for.

Marie Selders: Great video Dominique! i was able to buy a 4-pc Olaplex system from QVC a few months ago for a great price. I only use it about every 3 weeks. I am 72 and have been coloring my hair for years but fortunately it has stayed healthy and shiny. I find as I have gotten older I only need to wash my hair 2 or 3 times a week. When I was young it was oily and I washed it nearly every day. Hair products have really come a long way. Funny story, growing up my mother bought Prell Shampoo (does anyone remember it?). We may as well have been using Dawn dish soap. It was so drying and we wondered why we had split ends, lol! I look forward every week to your videos and will be ordering your book.

Annie Mendez: Thank you for these suggestions. I always say I need help for my hair!

Mary Herje: I love this side-part pixie on you, and the color is gorgeous!

Cynthia Kelley: Hi Dominique, loved this video!! Thank you for all the great tips. Do you have any suggestions for hair thinning? I’ve always had very thick healthy hair. Now I seem to have a receding hairline. OMG! What’s up with that??? Thank you for any suggestions, Cindy in “FROZEN” Dallas ❤️❤️

Gloria Martinez: Thank you for a great tutorial. My hair is very similar to yours in length. I just wash and condition is really in need of care. Thank you!!!!!!!!

Shirley Guy: Dominique thank you for hair info. Your hair always looks healthy and fantastic.

Sheila Garcia: You look amazing Beautiful Lady. I especially love your makeup look today. Please show us how!!! Do a how to for this look pppplease

Tammy: There is no way I could even afford these products , Are there cheap alternatives? I may just have to stick with old school coconut oil by the way your hair looks great!

Julie O: I was just getting ready to comment about Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo for dark hair right when you mentioned it. I swear by that one! I find using a little dry shampoo before bed helps too just so it kinda absorbed some oil overnight. I’ve got coarse thick curly frizzy hair so I feel like I’ve tried it all. Lol. Olaplex oil is awesome but I found I can’t use their shampoo. It’s got a ph issue from what I’ve been able to find in my research.

Terry Corley: Dominique, could you investigate products such as hair "toppers" to disguise hair loss (that's permanent)? Due to my health, my hairline is receding. Today's video is great. I colored from 16 - 66. I went gray in the last year. Thank you.

LittleOne3179: For someone who has fine hair and gets highlights regularly, I really like K18. After I wash my hair (no conditioner) and towel dry, I apply the K18, wait the 4 minutes, then rinse. After that I apply a leave in heat protectant/conditioner. It's absolutely perfection. Doesn't weigh my hair down and I only wash my hair 1 to 2 times a week. Love that dry shampoo too !!

Maria M: Hi Dominique. Always interested in protecting my dry frizzy hair . I understand that it is very important to use products with a lower ph for hair strength. Do you know what the ph is of the Joico Defy Damage shampoo
