Hey guys welcome back to my channel and if you're new here and just stumbled across this video, my name is marissa lynnae and i make curly hair content, occasional vlogs lifestyle videos. But today's video - i just wanted to go over some of my favorite shampoos and conditioners that i've tried out this year, which there has been a ton, and i wanted to just make a quick, easy list for you guys in case. You guys are looking to step up your shampoo and conditioner game. It is a very crucial part in taking care of your hair, whether you have curly, hair, wavy, hair straight hair. The shampoo you use makes the biggest difference in the health of your hair. I had to learn that the hard way, but i'm going to jump straight into the list. I will leave the pictures, as i mentioned them up on the screen, and then i will leave all of the links for shampoos and conditioners down below before i get started. If you haven't subscribed make sure to hit the subscribe button already, you can also find me on instagram at marissa underscore lennae. This list is in no particular order. I mentioned drugstore to high-end brands and all different kinds of price ranges that way you can find something that works specifically for you, okay, so coming in at number 10, and this is no surprise if you're not new here it is the not your mother's naturals tahitian Gardenia flower and mango butter curl, defining shampoo and conditioner. I have to have the name up because i can never remember it. I will always just say it's the not your mother's pink bottle with the yellow lettering, because that name is so long. But that is what i currently have in my shower right now. I just ordered it um during the the ulta black friday sale, and it is one of my go-to's i will always keep coming back to it, just because i love the size of the product. It'S pretty affordable, ulta is always having good sales on it as well. Not your mother's, um and ulta always have really great sales going on, so i always try to stock up on them. The reason i love the shampoo and conditioner is because one the smell is amazing, very tropical and then two. What really sells me is the conditioner. It has so much slip, it's great for curly hair. It'S not really like greasy or weighs your hair down, but it definitely gives me enough slip to where it's easy to detangle in the shower, and the price point is just great for the quality of product you get and number two on. My list is the real raw shampoo, the coconut, curls, shampoo and conditioner. It'S actually what i was using before. I got the not your mother's tahitian, gardenia, shampoo and conditioner, and i absolutely love the shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo definitely gives a really good lather, which is super important to me, because i cannot use a shampoo that doesn't give a good lather, because my hair just doesn't feel clean. My scalp doesn't feel clean, so i'm really particular on the lather that it gives. But the conditioner is equally as good again great slip. Almost all the conditioners i'm going to mention on this list are going to have great slip and moisture, particularly the coconut curls line. Just because it's made for curls - and i feel like curls - just need that extra moisture in both the shampoo and conditioner and it's a reasonable cost point, it's a drugstore brand. You can find them at target, it's not a huge bottle, but the amount of work that it puts in you get a lot of bang for your buck. So you don't have to use a ton of shampoo or conditioner. That'S another good one to keep on the list if you're looking for a drugstore brand okay. So next up, i feel like is an og, shampoo and conditioner. Almost like a cult favorite. It'S a shea moisture jamaican black, castor oil, a lot of people listed as jcbo, but it is such a good, shampoo and conditioner, and it was like one of the first curly girl, friendly shampoos and conditioner that i've heard about just because shea moisture plays such a Huge part in the curly hair community, so that is like i said, a cult favorite, it's a great price point. You can find it. I feel like almost anywhere you can find it online. You can find it in walmart target it lathers up really. Well, i love the deep conditioner that goes with it as well. It is so good and i'm always talking about it, but that whole line is a really good quality, curly, hair, shampoo and conditioner. Now i will say that shea moisture does, i feel, like it, caters to the higher porosity, tighter coil curly hair community. So if you have wavy, hair or hair that gets weighed down pretty easily, i might not recommend this to you, but anything with shea moisture. I just say be a little bit careful if your hair gets weighed down, but it's still for my hair, texture and type. It works really well for me and it's a favorite okay next on the list is another shea moisture product. So it is the shea moisture, um, coconut and hibiscus shampoo and conditioner. I like to use a shampoo and conditioner in the wintertime, because it just gives me so much moisture. I love the smell again. You can find it in most drugstores. Most major retailers carry it, and it's really good for adding that extra hydration. The conditioner is so nice. I feel like when i'm not quite ready for a deep conditioner, but i need some extra moisture that is my go-to conditioner. I haven't used it in a while. I think it's been maybe six months or so since the last time i've used it. But when i was using it, i used two bottles in a row and that's the shampoo and conditioner i was sticking with and then i started venturing out and trying different things. But it is definitely a classic and one that i buy over and over again, okay, so this next one is for my wavy hair girls or for anyone whose curls get weighed down pretty easily this next one. That'S a favorite of mine is the maui moisture, lightweight, hibiscus, water, shampoo and conditioner. It'S the pink bottle, and it is so nice for days where your hair might just have moisture overload, or it's feeling, like your curls, just aren't springing up. It cleans your hair really! Well, it's still good for curly and wavy hair, but it's not going to weigh your hair down and give you too much moisture and the name of the title. It'S lightweight. It'S meant to really help um increase like volume and the bounce of your curls or waves. It gives a really good scalp cleaning, and i just love that for days where i'm just like. Okay, i have too much going on in my hair. It feels a little weight down. Let me reset it, and it is just it's also affordable. You can find it at cbs walgreens target walmart pretty much anywhere as well. The only thing i will say - and i mentioned this a few times in my stories before is the conditioner - is so hard to get out of the bottle if they can just fix like the functionality of the conditioner. I would say it's a 10 out of 10 for right now i give it a 9 out of 10 just because i'm using so much arm muscle trying to shake it out of the bottle when i have it in my shower but other than the bottle itself. It is such a good, shampoo and conditioner so for any of my girls that have been having shampoos and conditioners weigh your hair down, and it's just like not really made for wavy hair or a looser curl pattern. I would definitely steer you towards maui moisture now, on the other end of that. My moisture also has a line that is great for tighter curl patterns and, if you're needing some extra moisture, that is going to be the heal and hydrate shea butter, shampoo and conditioner. Now this one, of course it has shea butter in it, so butters are usually a little bit heavier a little bit moisturizing. They coat your hair really well, and it usually just feels like a surge of moisture into your curls, and your hair during the shower has really good slip. So, if you're looking for something within the maui moisture line, but your hair isn't wavy or it doesn't get weighed down - definitely try this one. It is the purple bottle again you can find it at most major retailers. I usually like to pick up these from ulta. Again because you get some good points and there's always some kind of sale going on on shampoos and conditioners here so again, i would say the pink bottle if you have um looser waves and your hair gets weighed down. But if your curls can handle some moisture - and they just need a little bit extra attention, then the purple bottle is for you, okay, so these next four shampoos and conditioners are going to be more like salon grade higher end. I want to give options of both drugstore and higher end shampoos and conditioners, because i know everyone has different preferences, so this next one on the list is the aveda, be curly, shampoo and conditioner. So my mom um is a stylist i mentioned that before. So i always get to try out some samples that she sends me over. So i tried this one out. I really liked the shampoo and conditioner i wasn't a huge fan of the co-wash, but i don't really like any kind of co-washes, but the shampoo and conditioner was so nice again, it's higher end um. It'S salon grade shampoo and conditioner. So that's great. If you have color treated hair now, if you have color treated hair, i would definitely steer you more towards using salon grade higher end shampoos and conditioners, just because it's going to preserve the color in your highlights or base color, whatever kind of color that you have Myself, i have highlights and a different base color, so i do like to use higher end shampoos and conditioners. When i can. I still really love my drugstore shampoos and conditioners, but this one had a really good lather. The conditioner was nice. It was moisturizing, it had a good amount of slip. I just feel like you can tell when a shampoo and conditioner is still on quality, so it's nice to have my hair feel refreshed and, like i just left my mom's chair, so i had the travel size. So it wasn't huge, but it is one that i would purchase myself. Okay, so the next one on my list is the briojo blossom and bloom, shampoo and conditioner briojio just does such a good job with their curly hair products. I feel like everything from their line. Always works well for my hair from the shampoo and conditioner to the deep conditioners to their styling products. It is just such a higher level, curly hair line that i really encourage you to try. If you want to splurge a little bit, it's definitely one that is not a drugstore price, but i feel like whenever you splurge on higher end products. They usually last you longer your hair thanks you, so this shampoo and conditioner it has a really nice smell. It'S not too overwhelming you can again find it at ulta, maybe sephora i'll, add the link down below, of course, but it is a really good mid-tier to hire in shampoo and conditioner. So if you want to treat yourself, it's definitely something that you don't have to use all the time. But i would say your curls are going to thank you and it's always good to give yourself a break from drugstore products and jump into that higher end. Shampoo and conditioner, you don't have to use it every wash day. You can alternate as well, but that is another one. That'S made it on my top 10 list. Second to last on this list is the bondi boost, hg, shampoo and conditioning wash um. I feel, like i've been seeing body boost all over social media and the curly girl world. So when i see a product becoming really popular, i am quick to jump on uh the train and just to test out different products to see. If i like them or not - and i haven't mentioned this on my instagram stories or anything like that, but i have been trying it out and i'm a fan and i wasn't sure if i was going to be because whenever i see a lot of like sponsored Posts or brand deals going up, i'm like okay. Is it just going to be hyped up and just isn't a great product, because that has happened to me before i've gotten some products, specifically shampoos and conditioners, that i do not like and then i see them everywhere and it leaves bad taste in my mouth because I just feel like they're, not they're, not the best product for curly hair, but anywho. The bondi boost shampoo and conditioner is not one. That is all hype. It is a good, shampoo and conditioner, and i recommend you try it out. If you come across it and let's finish off this list with the verb, ghost shampoo and conditioner, so this is another one. It just coincidentally happened to come after bondi boost, but another line that i saw kind of blow up in the curly girl community. I saw a lot of post about the styling products, but the shampoos and conditioners are just as good. I love the branding. I love the performance, it is again on the pricier side, but i mean it's going into your hair a few times a week, so i think it's worth the investment for sure, but i do enjoy it. I got the travel size just to make sure that i would like it. I hate investing in full-size products and then not liking them. So what i started to do was just get like as small of a package as i could get that way. I can test it out and just throw this out here. If you get any of these shampoos and conditioners, and you don't like them, do not be afraid to return them. It'S okay! If it doesn't work for your hair, i always feel like people starting out their curly hair journey are afraid to buy and invest in products because it it's expensive, it can add up just because these are products that you haven't used before. You'Re still learning how to use them, your hair reacts differently each time you use them. So if you have a product and you've used it a few times and you just know, it's not going to work for your hair, do not be afraid to return it and then find something that does work for you, because everyone's hair is different. So just wanted to throw that in there, because, if you're looking to try any of these shampoos and conditioners um, i don't want you to feel scared that it might not work for your hair. But i just wanted to make a really quick video for you guys. So that's all i have here again. I will leave all of the links down below, but before you leave, if you haven't already make sure to hit the subscribe button, that way you don't miss any more updates or videos and thanks guys i'll see you next time.

jailene rivera: This was literally perfect timing! I just ran out of shampoo and wanted to switch up my routine!! Thank you girl! Have a happy new year!!

Morgan Veller: The Purology Hydrate line (the light purple bottles) is the BEST shampoo/conditioner combo I have ever used and I have 2C-3B hair!! They smell amazing (like lavender and mint), the shampoo lathers so well and the condioner leaves your scalp feeling cool and tingly which is surprisingly really nice. They are very expensive (about $30 each for 9 oz) but worth every penny to me. My hair looks perfect 99.9% of the time when I use that stuff

Keep Calm & Carrie On: Love the Aveda Be Curly line! I tried the Shea Moisture coconut hibiscus products a few months ago, and I guess my hair didn't like the protein. Not really sure. I love the scent though!

Elizabeth Carroll: For some reason, the pink Maui Moisture stripped my hair way more than a sulfate shampoo :( I had straightened my hair a few days before I washed with that shampoo and brushed it every day....even with hair coming out over those days, I lost more hair when I washed with this shampoo than any other time, like half a handful :( I didn't have a problem with the orange-ish colored one for curly hair, though. My hair is a looser pattern than yours.

Tori Rose: This was so helpful I struggle cause my hair is CURLY but gets weighed down soo easily but it’s also SO DRY so usually I’m compromising volume for moisture, I’m excited to try some of these!!

SCUMMY 420: I have 3a/3b hair and this video saved me (and my hair) I'm a man, and 3 years ago I decided to grow my hair out, and for the past year I've been trying all different kinds of things, but this video really helped me get the right products and made my life 100x easier, wish I found it a year ago. The amount of hair I've yanked out (accidentally ofc) is embarrassing ‍♂️.

Nye Gee: Same. I HAVE to have a good lathering shampoo. I've used some that lathered poorly. I had to wash my hair at least three times for my hair to feel clean. Great video gurl!

ElaEG: Great list. I'm shopping for a new shampoo and conditioner and you definitely gave me some options to try out. Thanks for the video!

Gabriele Barr: I didn't even know half of these existed! So happy I found your video when I did, just finished my conditioner off and my hair isn't liking it like it used to XD. I just ordered the Not your Mothers Tahitian Gardenia Shampoo & Conditioner and can't wait to give it a try :).

Lioness: Just discovered you and wondering about your hair - I am the same 2c-3a wave/curl - but it would be helpful to know the thickness / porosity of your hair as mine is baby fine, lots of it -and medium porosity. Great detailed video :)

seema daryani: Have you tried the Maui Moisture Coconut milk shampoo? Is it good for 2B wavy hair with slightly dry ends?

SioLazer: Thanks for the reviews! have you shared the list of products you weren't a fan of and talked about what happened and why you didn't like them?

gem: this is why I love youtube; I've been wanting to get a new shampoo that would give my natural curls a bit more love and you mentioned one that sounds perfect for me :,))

N R92: Shea Moisture (first one you mentioned) def weighed my hair down & didn’t leave it feeling clean

Morgan: I use a small amount of the Maui moisturize hibiscus conditioner as leave in! lol also as soon as I get any bottle of their product I immediately turn it upside down. I agree with you their packaging is ridiculous. But starting upside down and leaving them that way does help

Kimberly Love: I'm so happy I found you thank you so much. Clear and to the point. People out here like look for this, that, there, who, what....girl I don't have time to me seating in the store reading through every bottle, just give me the name & I will buy it

caterina0803: I've seen the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus line recommended a lot but I didn't have a lot of luck with their Raw Shea Butter line, the shampoo didn't clean my scalp good enough and the conditioner didn't have enough slip to detangle, and now I'm reluctant to try them...Any thoughts?

Jose Contreras: Thanks for the review! Can you please do a video of how you refresh your curls!

Caitlin_Hargrove: Can you do a top 5 or top 10 favorite deep conditioners? Love your videos!

Aline Paradis: Thanks for the great review. I love those videos and happy new year!!!

Gavin Ryan: what other products would you recommend using in conjunction with the maui lightweight conditioner

Zemira Braganza: Hi Marissa, Great videos! Would you say that the Shea Moisture products are more for textured hair? I have very similar hair to yours.

Simone Small: Just found this video and tuned in. Would be great if you could list what products have silicones in them. Curious if you plan on trying Bread and Seen.

Maria: I have 2C and I love the shea moisture manuka honey and yogurt shamp and conditioner❤️

Dorothy Lisbon: I would suggest you look into fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.

Nattlie Herrera: Very helpful I have wavy hair..thank you!

MamaDiy: If u had to choose 1 shampoo and conditioner for curls a little less curly than yours what would u choose ? I’m a natural redhead and My hair is so thick and curly .I’m starting to lose curl pattern from not knowing how to take care of my curls . I just ordered a Shea moisture kit With the coconut hibiscus shampoo / conditioner and the smoothie curl cream . I hope they work out

Julianna Beesley: I love this video so much! so so so helpful!!!!

Misty Jenkins: I have dry damaged curly fine hair. Which shampoo and conditioner would you recommend?

Grace Faqir: Thank you! So informative!

C VMA: Does the Shea Moisture JBCO have proteins?

fatima tarig: My hair suffer from hair loss so which shampoo do you recommend for me i’m a low porosity hair and 2c 3a

Valerie Johnson: Which of these are color safe or sulfate free?

inmysoul_TLH: which one is best for scalp that gets greasy fast?

Luvv Fayy: We have the same exact curls what do u think about the A10 miracle hair mask?

Andrea S: I suggest research fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.

Faria Alam: I don't recommend using protein hair products all the time because it can have protein overload and ruin your hair.

Brittany Craigo: I store my maui moisture light hydration conditioner upside down just be care when you open it.

Sara Vasquez: i just ordered bounce curl for my 2b-2c hair (i believe it has potential to go up to 3a but i suck at taking care of my hair) so i’m finally trying to have a hair care routine and i want a shampoo that’ll do me good

Zainab Rehman: Can you please review bounce curl light cream gel?? Love you and your videos btw

Ashley Smith: Your hair is gorgeous!!

Erika Rodrigues: So do you usually have like a few different shampoos and conditioners at once or do you use a pair until it’s done?

Nicole C.: I enjoyed this video , thanks

Tawni Toney: do they define?

BookNerd: I have 2b - c type hair, and it is definitely not thick! (But not extremely thin.) I am a swimmer, so my hair gets dry and damaged easily, and I have a lot of breakage. Soooo… what do you think is the best for me? Cause I have literally no idea! ☺️
