What'S good everybody, it's your main girl, mal back at it again with a brand new comp, harrison video we're going to be doing a product battle of the brands using drugstore products that are found internationally and at a pretty affordable price. That'S right me, your canadian curly, curl, stylist and curl enthusiast we're going to be reviewing any first impressions, naughty hair care versus the alberto there's. So many ends don't come for me. I'M sorry! If that makes me naughty, these product lines are both 100 vegan and cruelty. Free, the only question is which one will be the winner, so if this is something that you would like to see, then stick around and without further ado, let's get to it. So this is going to be my first impressions of both of these shampoos. What we are testing here is going to be the lathering capabilities and, as for the conditioner, we're going to see how it detangles how our hair feels after rinsing. But what you need to know about shampoo and conditioners and reviews are for me to truly stand behind and recommend shampoos and conditioners. I do like to use the long term, but i do want to still share a first impression and at least see how these feel as i am using them, and how my hair feels at the end of the week before i have to wash again to see. If i'm itchy flaky nasty all that stuff so just be aware of that, this is going to be first impressions of these shampoos and conditioners. So now we're here going in with the naughty side. First sounds like a pretty thick shampoo, such a fresh smell, just fresh, clean, not floral, not just fresh, absolutely gon na go for the second shampoo. I just need a little bit more lather and if your shampoo is not lathering on the first shampoo, i mean it's just a sign that your hair is dirty. I haven't washed my hair for six days, so i'm expecting that using a sulfate free shampoo, just let's just watch the magic happen on the second wash almost instantly it's getting foamy on the second time around, because there's not as much dirt in the way now i Can get really thorough and get into my scalp and hair and properly cleanse? I also like to massage and emulsify for at least 60 seconds. Okay, now we've done it now. We'Ve done it! I'M gon na rinse wave, hello, wave hello. You first want to work through your conditioner, with your hands kind of massage it through your hair before going in with detangling, because this is going to help to coat and protect your strands for that process, and i'm actually just going to let this sit go ahead And shampoo my other side apply. The conditioner then come back and detangle this side and come back and detangle this side just to try to make it even let them both kind of sit in the hair and then we'll scrub, a dub dub over here. I actually now that this side is clean and this side isn't. I am itching literally a chain for scalp scrub. Here we are with our curl jelly, wash they're, both pretty jelly, but this one feels a little bit thicker a little bit more like a jelly. Just going ahead and lathering well in my hands, so both of these lines have just a fresh smell. It'S super neutral because it's not overly floral, it's not sweet. It'S just clean. I really appreciate that so on the first wash, i do feel like this. One is giving me more. Lather, like i may not have to go in with a second shampoo, see how it's easier to distribute. You can see how it's really lathered and gotten everywhere and all by using less product, because i haven't had to go in with my second shampoo and i may not need to, but we'll see how this rinses we're going to skip the second shampoo on this one. Because it already feels clean after the first shampoo, so i'm just going to go in with the conditioner. This conditioner has a different consistency. It'S not as thick it's a little bit more silky and kind of just runny in the hand. So, let's see how this applies onto the hair, i can feel that it has a more instant kind of glide through the hair. It doesn't give as much resistance. It'S just automatically more slip, which is super super helpful when it comes to detangling, but i'm just going to massage this through the tangle of the naughty side and then we'll come on back here. I'M coming through with my tangle teezer ultimate detangler, wet detangler brush. The conditioner is actually getting a little bit foamy that actually helps with detangling, because those little bubbles that are kind of foaming in the conditioner like create space between knotting and just makes it a little bit easier to work through, and this is definitely he's hanging. Well, maybe a minute, maybe uh, maybe under two i'm almost through cheers that worked better than i expected, because in the first impression going through my hair, i was like. Oh, it doesn't have that much slip, but it really makes a difference once you massage it into the hair. Let it sit for a moment before detangling. It makes it so much easier because it's helped to work a little bit of its magic just going to keep this aside clean my brush and detangle this side. This conditioner is also getting that foamy effect. Stop pause, my hand is cramping my hand, just covering my hand. Oh ah my thumb. I feel like that one took slightly longer but because we had a couple, hiccups a couple hand cramps, but it is foamier and um yeah. Let'S see how these feel after we rinse, there were the hairs, and here are the hairs, naughty naughtish and a little curl jelly. Mr umberto nini. Both sides feel good. They both feel really lightweight, like they don't have a residue over the hair, but they also don't feel dry. Like i rinsed out the conditioner, nothing happened. They both just feel nice and conditioned smooth okay. So far, so good, i'm going to clip these away we'll go into styling, but as a first impressions right here right now, the shampoo conditioner, i find them very comparable. I think the conditioner on the naughty side, which is a little bit richer in terms of the consistency it's a little bit thicker. So if you have very tangly hair, that's harder to work through, you might like the umberto genonini conditioner, because it's a little bit silkier a little bit easier to distribute and if you're a fan of using less product, i mean i didn't - have to use two shampoos To feel clean with the umberto sides, so this may be a plus one for curl jelly, but it also may be too soon to tell we'll see how my scalp feels at the end of the week. But let's move into styling now: shall we for our prep product? I am going to be using the hello, curls cruelty, free, vegan, friendly, define and reshape curl primer. This has this for curly and wavy hair with sea kelp and shea butter. It also has avocado oil and it's supposed to define and add hold to freshly washed curls at the top of the ingredient list. Here we see glycerin in the number two spot, which means this is going to help to draw a lot of hydration to your hair. If you are in the right climate, the weather forecast, where i am this weekend - happens to be pretty cold and wet and rainy tonight with a 63 humidity. It'S the fall here. I don't know what your climate situation is, but just keep in mind. That'S what's going on in this routine, and it's going to be going on top of. I should mention my hair texture, which is a fine to medium texture. I'Ve got a pretty medium to maybe high-ish density, i'd like to believe it's a medium density and high porosity, she's bleached she's color treated. I really like silicones in my high porosity routine, especially going out when it is rainy, but let's see how these products do. It doesn't say shake, but i'm just gon na shake for good luck and it appears that this product can be applied on freshly washed, damp hair or on dry hair, to refresh which i like i like that, it's multi-purpose. So it's got a nice little milky consistency. There it has a very silky feel to it and also lightweight feel, but it's not completely watery. I can definitely feel that there is some slip and conditioning in there. I just want to make sure thoroughly saturate my hair, especially where i am the driest and kind of most damaged. This product does read hydrolyzed wheat protein in the ingredients, which means it wouldn't be gluten free, but it is strengthening. Protein is a fantastic ingredient. Great, if you have damaged hair, because it's going to help to fill in the holes of your cuticle, where there are missing parts - and this is what's making your hair feel dry and also not retain moisture over time so brushing this through. My hair was already pretty tangled from our shower, but it still feels really good going through very easily. I would say that we have been prepped very nicely now to style. We have got the hey, curl, scrunching, jelly for curly and wavy hair. This lightweight curl scrunching jelly adds definition for lasting flake free flake-free hold without the crunch or stickiness. It has sea botanicals with copolymers that help hydrate and add shine for frizz free waves and curls. Again, it's very hydrating. It has glycerin as the second ingredient. I see this product has one of my favorite humidity, defying ingredients which is poly quaternarium 11.. Note that down on your list, that's something that we like to see here. So this says to coat damp curls, evenly, distribute onto lengths and ends scrunch dry with a diffuser or lead to air dry. Let'S take a look at what what it looks like it looks clear like a jelly, as i expected now when it comes to products like this, i'm just gon na do a little kind of test strand see how that feels running through my hair, and i might Do something crazy, i think in this routine, i'm going to do something i don't usually do and that is brush through my gel because well i don't usually brush through my gel because it can leave my hair pretty crispy. But i do want to make sure that i'm thoroughly distributing product throughout my hair, because this is kind of the only styler that i'm going in with. I do want to make sure that no strand gets left behind, because in these climates i need that extra layer of protection to go everywhere. So we'll put this in now then style and clump and define my curls and then scrunch in the jelly. There'S that little seaweed feel a little bit damn it. I thought this was going to have nice slip, i'm just going to try to work really quickly because gel it gives this yeah the seaweed, no pun intended, because this has like sea kelp or something in it. It gives this, like seaweed, feel to the hair that honestly, i hate feeling, but it's on it's just a texture thing during styling: it's not straining, but should it actually affect the end result as long as you are clumping properly so to clump and define my curls, I am using just my detangling brush, i like to brush style, but you would want to style. However, you like to so i'm just going in pressing my fingers against the spine of the brush and smoothing smoothing everything out. You can see how straight that strand looks which can be kind of scary, but, honestly to me, that's a good sign of good clumping because we go in and do the scrunching afterwards, which is going to give us the bounce. So right now we're smoothing it's going to really lay down any frizz and flyaways again, although i don't usually go through with a brush when i'm using my gel. This is an effective method and something that you might want to do if you have very unruly hair, like a lot of frizz flyaways, just shorter strands throughout your hair. It is a good idea, something something to note. My brush is gliding through. I will say i'm not getting a ton of like resistance, it doesn't feel like it's ripping my hair out or anything. It'S definitely smoothing through nicely, and that is what we're looking like freshly applied. I want to just take a tiny bit more of it. Just on my hands and we'll scrunch, all of that in to really bring the life into the curl just doing a little bit of finger coiling on my you know, trouble areas and my bangs and the top layer where i really just want the curls to look Perfect - and this is what we're looking like freshly styled now - i'm just kind of going to insert one of these volume clips just to keep this hair off of my face. It'S also going to help to set my bangs away from my face, because they're kind of growing they're a little bit too long to wear in front. I want to link these clips as well as all the products that i'm using in the description box below so you'll be able to find them there. Moving on to the umberto genomini side, i need to add just a little bit of water here, because uh my high porosity hair, it sucks up a lot of water and it spits it right back out. It tends to dry pretty fast, as opposed to really low porosity hair that it it doesn't even hold on to water, so it can also dry pretty fast. Let me know if your hair is high, prostate or low porosity and if it dries fast or slow. So i'm not soaking the hair. I just want it to be damp. Both sides just damp i like to style down and to prep the umberto giannini side, we're using the creme de curl curl control cream, again vegan and cruelty free. Now i did try to find a spray because i like to compare very similar products. So although this is a cream version - and this is a spray - they both seem to do very similar things. They'Re both kind of controlling they're, both supposed to add hold, while also adding hydration and definition, but the differences here are the creme de curl does have silicone. So is that a good thing? Is it a bad thing in my eyes, i'm seeing green lights, because that is something i like about this. I like the added heat protection because again we will be going in and diffusing. So it's a little extra. You know just it's just a little security blanket. I like to have over the hair, so cyclopentasiloxane is the second ingredient here. Gon na help to really coat the hair, then we got the second ingredient, which is petrolatum. We'Ve got coconut oil. There glycerin is behind all of those ingredients. So this isn't so much hydrating. As it is more an emollient with hydrating properties as well as a base, this spray is going to be a little bit lighter, whereas this one is gon na have a little bit more of a coating effect and again it is a little bit more of this Cream consistency that we can see i've played around with this product on other hairs before, but i'm excited to use it on my own hair and i'm trying to apply an even amount, as i did on you know the naughty side. On the naughty side, i really sprayed quite liberally all over my hair and here i'm using a good amount as well just to make sure that i evenly coat my hair and now brush that through. And although there are silicones - and you know - lots of emollient kind of ingredients in here - it really doesn't feel greasy right off the bat. I'M super happy to see those kind of ingredients in this, because, again it's offering me heat protection, that's something that silicones are great for they provide heat protection. So i love the feel of this so far. We'Re gon na go in now with this is a very, very famous product. It'S the umberto giannini curl jelly scrunching jelly. It calls itself the perfect product for scrunch drying. I don't know what scrunch drying is, but it's supposed to banish frizz and add shine with no crunchy feel the ingredients here seem pretty hydrating. It'S got glycerin a humectant higher up on the list than any kind of emollient ingredients. This scrunching jelly also has that poly quaternarium 11 humidity resistant ingredient that i love to see, but something to note is because i've already got that protective barrier from the cream with those emollient ingredients. All this glycerin that is in this crunching jelly might not ruin my hair day before. So it should do that. We shall see this one's a little bit pink she's a little bit pinky and not very stinky. Again, it's just got that really clean smell. The umberto giannini products are, they have a slight floral element to them, mostly with the basis of just clean, as opposed to the um, the naughty products. It'S not floral. I wouldn't consider it floral. It'S mostly just like clean, like ocean breeze. We'Re gon na apply this. The same way that we did on the naughty side, i'm going to be brushing it through and then of course, scrunching it in this is the naughty side, and this is the umberto giannini sign. I'M going to go ahead and diffuse off camera and come back with the dry results. Okay, the hair is dry and, as you can see, believe it or not, the curl jelly, the umberto genini side has more crunch. It has like a really wet and crunchy look and feel which again i like, because it's completely temporary, we'll scrunch it out. But if you see the immediately dry results on the naughty side, it's got a much softer more voluminous look. So this is the before now to finish: we've prepped, we've styled! Now we finish i'm going to remove these clips and i would always go in with an oil or serum always especially because of the climate that i live in and because of my hair texture and my hair type, because it's high porosity again. I want that smoothing that ceiling to help lock. All of that moisture in thing is, i don't have an oil or serum from both of these brands to use, so i'm just going to use an off-brand one. You can use whatever hair oil or serum that you like, or prefer to use i'm going to choose to use something that is also silicone. Free as most of this routine has been i'm going to use the crow smith bonding oil one pump on each side. Neither side feels sticky. I definitely see more volume on the naughty side, but i think more definition on the curl jelly side we'll have to see how both of these last i am late for date night and i will keep you updated uh in a few days. We are back after four long, wet and cold treacherous days, so um it's day, three, the end of day three and i'm not messing around here. Yes, i wanted the humidity, but i'm not sabotaging this wash day, so i'm wearing a freaking grocery bag. On my head, as i should and you'll see the true test tomorrow stay tuned. Let'S talk about it. I want to go through all the products that we used and then come to a conclusion of i mean which side looks better but also which products i'm going to recommend for you, because for everything that we use there's a time and a place and a person That they're going to be best for so starting back at the wash my hair hasn't gone excessively oily. I'Ve actually been wearing hats, so if you're noticing some frizz or some flatness on the top magic business, even with that, my scalp hasn't gone excessively. Oily everything's been feeling great, i feel like. I got a really good clean, as well as a good condition, so i'm just gon na have to say that for me, i, like the umberto janine product, because i didn't have to use as much shampoo on the wash day, but both seemed really decent, especially for A sulfate free shampoo, which, if you are someone that lives in hard water conditions, did you see the water pressure in my shower? It'S not the greatest. I have kind of hard water, but i don't mind my sulfates, but if you have very hard water conditions where you are living, you want to avoid sulfates, and i like these sulfate-free shampoos, i'm not gon na lie. Remember it's all about how you use them. So if you have to do two shampoos and follow the directions, naughty got that thing really right: they nailed the instructions here approved as for styling. So when we look at the naughty side, it looks a little bit naughty compared to the curl jelly side. I'M saying pearl jelly because i am avoiding saying alberto, but these were our two leave-ins. I remind you that this bad boy was silicone free and while i do like silicones as seen in this baby, i do really like this product. If you're, someone that has fine hair, that's easily weighed down you're looking for a light, leave-in conditioner, that's got some detangling properties, something that's just going to prep your hair for styling. Remember that's what this is going to do it's going to prep your hair. So it's quite lightweight i like that. It'S multi-purpose! I would recommend this product for curl, styling and air drying or cover diffusing, because this doesn't have heat protection right. I do like that. The creme de curl, curl control cream does have heat protection and i think it really aided in keeping the frizz down in this rainy weather and as long as your hair is nicely hydrated, like you got a nice condition or even deep conditioning in the shower. I think that this is going to be just enough you're not going to need all that much more hydration, but the emollient and occlusive properties in here are what's going to keep all that hydration in your hair. So that's fantastic! I do like this. I think it did a fabulous job, especially under our gel, which has got to be the winner here not got to be it's not not glued, but it did leave me with a cast and hold not as necessarily described it's supposed to give you. You know crunch free hair, but it did give me crunchy hair, which is what we'd like to see at the beginning of our routine, as you can see after scrunching it out, it's left my hair soft. My hair has good volume. There'S definition there's been hold natural shine, not too much, because at this point my hair is feeling a little dry and i think it gave my hair good clumping even brushing this through, which again, i don't usually do. Let me know below, if you like, to brush through your gel or if you like, to use your gel as a cast over top of your already clumped curls, something that i usually like to do. And if that is you, i dare you to try something new, because i have been pleasantly surprised here today with our winner. Unfortunately, i don't think that the naughty scrunching jelly is gon na be for me, it just didn't give me enough hold from the beginning, and it is a little bit richer in glycerin, so in the humidity in the rainy weather that i have been in, i don't Think that that worked well for me, as it's just brought too much kind of moisture into my hair and left me a little bit more frizzy, lacking definition volumized, but otherwise, not not quite as defined, and so it's going to be a no from may. But that's all i have to say. I hope you enjoyed this new review. We haven't done a battle of the brands in a while, but let me know what else you would like to see. Let me know if we should do some duping. I feel like that. Would be a fun kind of expansion to the battle of the brands series which you can see more of here on the channel? If you haven't already subscribed, please do while you're down there in the description box, i will put all of the product links, so you can check them out further and give this video a thumbs up. If you like it. I hope to see you in the next video. Until then, this has been your main girl, mel and i'm out peace. I'M gon na straighten out this line for you, okay, but what i won't do is remove this nail - polish, not until i'm drawing okay. So it's bothering you - and you call me out in the comments then you're just being rude - a girl specialist, this girl stylistic girl enthusiast and we are going to be not speaking like these energy energy, energy, energy. I need to eat. What'S good everybody, what's good, what's good, everybody know my part, i'm leaking she's clean, she's, clean and clear and under out of control, i'm out of control.

Manes by Mell: I have HIGH POROSITY hair and with no product, it dries SUPER FAST but when I apply my products especially if they are very moisturizing, it takes FOREVER TO DRY! How about you?

hee hee: Mell, idk if you’ve done this but for the end of the year you should do like a “curly hair product awards” thing where you have a bunch of categories and choose which product wins that category. Bonus if you have both a high end and a drugstore product win so the ones of us who are broke can get the drugstore one lol.

Emma Rogers: So glad to have a product battle between two lines we get here in the UK! Love it

Indigo Jonas: I would absolutely love to see you review the Aussie Curl line. I've been watching you guys for a while now and love seeing everything you put out! I love the character and honesty you have in all of your videos! I'm 15 and you've made me want to become a hair stylist because I love experimenting with my curly hair. I've been styling all of my curly and wavy haired friends bc of your videos! Keep it up, bc you're doing wonderful things.

Amy Blankenship: I personally would LOVE to see dupes *cough DYSON cough*. I personally love your reviews and opinions (I also like a slippy product that gives me a CAST) and have AG Curl Fresh in my cart and a dupe series would be lot's of fun (and give more accessible options to the budget-conscious) :)

Rachel Fishbein: It's interesting. After 4 days the two sides look almost completely indistinguishable, which is surprising for the Noughty side which certainly looked fluffier on day 1. But the Giannini side looked better overall.

Gabriella Restuccia: I’ve started brushing my hair through my gel, because I have a much looser curl pattern to it, it’s wavy curly. I’m getting really good results because my curl clumps fall out after I brush them with a styling brush. I find the gel helps it keep it shape from the styling brush, it makes it more stiff and defined

jadoreetjespere: Good to know the Noughty Shampoo/Condish work well as they are available where I live and I’d love to mix it up and try something new. At the moment I mostly use John Frieda dream curls and throw in the Shea moisture deep conditioner every few washes. I am hoping to see a wash and go routine for those of us who have to wear our hair pulled back at work all week.

Toni Baker: Would you ever consider doing one on one curl sessions? I find your videos so helpful but also so overwhelming with all the curl knowledge. I can’t even figure out what my hair density is so would be amazing if you would ever consider doing this. I live the UK and haven’t managed to find a hair specialist who can get my hair right and I certainly can’t

Jordan Faith: I can’t get enough of the side by side showdowns!! Love me summa that UG curl jelly (saying UG gets me out of saying the tricky name )

Suzie Althens: Love these kinds of videos! I’ve been using a few Bumble and Bumble products that I love. Their gel is AMAZING for getting a cast that is somehow firm, but soft. No glycerine. And my hair loves the Invisible Oil Primer and the Curl butter. Totally worth the splurge.

Trini: Your hair looks amazing, always does. I have used the UG jelly and the Noughty products but didn't like them but I might give them another try now. By the way, your beat is absolutely bangin'! LOVE the winged eyeliner and natural tones you've used. ❤️

Dominique Merlet: I prefer definition over volume strictly for longevity. So I usually comb a small amount of gel through my hair while styling, and then I glaze/scrunch in some gel after I've styled to make sure I've got some good hold. This helps me get some crunch and my hair looks great all week.

Emily: I’d love to see a produce battle with the No Nothing lines. Their bottles are hilarious to read too.

Lucrece von Kasm: Thank you so much for reviewing brands available in the UK! Stay well xx

Cath Deacon: I love the curl jelly and I layer it with the UG mousse and get great results. Going to try combing gel through! Thanks for a great video

IrishRose.: As a wavey/curly I've used the umberto products and I really think they were the best ones for my hair! I did use the shampoo and conditioner for a little while but stopped for some reason. However I have gone back to the Curl Jelly because it's the best gel I've found for my hair type. I was so excited to see you review them!

bluesummerrain: So happy you made this video! As someone who almost exclusively uses Noughty products and the UG curl jelly gel, this was super fun to watch!

Sara M.: Your winged eyeliner And the grocery bag lol I love how you are unapologetically being your true self. ❤️❤️

Deanna: Happy Texture Tuesday!! So excited to watch!! I've been dying to try both of these brands!! Thank you!! Much love and happiness!! Xoxo

Karina Margit: I found out one time when I was annoyed at the frizz so I brushed and scrunched after putting moose in and it turned out soooo nice!!! I thought that was a no no in styling but now you’ve done it

Karen Levitt: I would love to see dupes for Kerastase and Malibu C (clarifying and chelating).Would love to see a battle of the high-protein brands, maybe Curlsmiths strength line vs some of the way less pricey Aphogee products ( but probably not all from their curly line which is more moisturizing and emollient and less protein-y than some of their other products) Not gonna lie, love me some Aphogee, would love to know if other products are worth the $$$.

Nimerta Virdee: This was really helpful! Just got a bunch of naughty products in my bi-monthly curly subscription box. Although it wasn't right for you I think it might work for my wavy hair based on the outcomes on your hair. We shall see. Keep up the good work Mel - also you look stunning after you diffused in this video with your make up etc, beautiful lady xx

Elizabeth M: MORE WINGED BLACK EYELINER PLEASE. And yes to product dupes. I've tried brushing through my gel but haven't noticed too much of a difference. I'm definitely going to try again though.

Elinoir Smythe: Funnily enough I bought the UG curl scrunching jelly the other day, so I'm glad it passes the Mell test! I have fine, wavy hair rather than curly.

Anabela Alves: I have tried some of these Naughty products. Didn’t find the shampoo and conditioner anything special, but I absolutely loved the primer. It left my curls even curlier, BUT it left my hair super flacky and greasy! I also tried a hydration mask from the “to the rescue” collection and absolutely hated, left my hair feeling like straw. This brand just doesn’t work on my hair :(

Sohela Suri: The UG side is so defined, I cannot wait to try the line!

lizzy: Thank you so much Mel for doing something International - I didn't even know I could get this product where I live but I am so going to give it a try!! ❤️❤️❤️

Lily R: I haven’t used wave hello but i have used intensive hair from Naughty and have found myself love it (i switched from the two products i use and ended up coming back to them realising they gave me what i was after) My current routine is: Briogeo Volumising Shampoo Briogeo Frizz Smoothing Conditioner She’s Moistire Protein Mask (only use at most once a month or if my hair is in need of a boost) Noughty Intensive Care Leave In Conditioner As I Am Curling Jelly Noughty Anti Frizz Serum I like how this works for my hair. I had been using Maoui Moisture for a while but it honestly was too much and weighed down my hair loads

Kyla Boutin: Yes love the dupe idea you suggested! Especially if they're drugstore dupes! Thank you for another great video!

Jessica L: The first time I used the wave hello shampoo, I thought I accidentally ate it some how. The fragrance is so horribly overpowering to me of straight up soap that I couldn’t even finish the bottle I couldn’t stand feeling like I was eating it!!

Nikki Y: Thanks Mell! Love your comparison videos. Speaking of Texture Tuesday, do you have advice on how to handle when you have different curl patterns/textures on your head? One side of my head is finer and the other is courser, frizzy, and some sections barely curl, even with finger coiling and other techniques

💋Shelli's beauty addiction💋: I'm definitely going to try the Giannini products. I keep hearing great things about them. Also I would love to see a dupe series.

Lynzi Collins: Happy Texture Tuesday!! Loved the video and the live, thank you, love you both ❤️❤️

Julie Bruce: Thanks for this video! I always brush through my gel. Ever since I’ve been doing that I get longer lasting results. I have very fine hair. The only product similar to these that I have used is the naughty wave hello curl cream. I really like that one

Kristina Beck: I have been applying a thick conditioner to my wet hair midshaft to ends before I shampoo my scalp. Then I rinse and use conditioner as usual. By applying the heavy conditioner to my ends it prevents the shampoo from stripping my ends while cleansing my greasy scalp. My hair is frizz free and my curls have never looked better

Natalie S: This was so cool to see - I compared those gels side by side on my head too! I find that the Noughty jelly gives me crazy ringlets but NO cast! I wonder how they’d fare being layered on top of each other

Minna Uyeda: I started my curly hair journey about the time you started your marvelous channel. You have been my personal hair guru, and i have followed almost all your recommendations, within reason. I started with Aveda Be curly cream, confixor gel, the entire Verb line, in drugstore I like the Dippity do, especially the gel. Love the AG the gel mousse, but now I’m all about the AG defining cream you recommended last week. My daughters say my room looks like I’m the curly girl influencer! but hey if our mane girl Mel and seester say it works, then I’m there for it! You’ve changed my hair! Thanks.

stephyclaws: I've never brushed my gel through but I will definitely try it now! My hair is thin and fine, I could only dream.of hair like yours if you wanted to try a dupe theres a bond plex range by revolution (don't know how easy it is to get in canada) but it is supposed to be a dupe for the olaplex range xx

Meg: I love that you’re using two brands from the UK!! Been waiting for a video like this for years

Derrick Jennifer Watkins: At the end, both sides looked the same! Beautiful! I love that so many choices can give great results.

Henna: I really appreciate these drug store comparison videos thanks Mell!

Shona Van Leynseele: Mel, can you please explain why my hair is still frizzy? I’ve been watching a whole lot of your vids and took so much tips and tricks that worked very well. And I’ve been using olaplex and not colouring but my hair stays frizzy at the roots Thanks so much for your content, keep it coming!❤️

Just another curly girl J: Thanks for the video Mell. Pretty excited watching this review because we actually have this Umberto Giannini products back here . Definitely going to give it a try Yayyy.

Claudia: Hey, Mell!! Have you ever heard about Latina products? It would be amazing if you try those, they are quite famous among curly women in Mexico (but idk if those are available there in Canada). Excellent video, as ALWAYS. Love your comp-hair-isons! Greetings from Mexico for you and Amanda!

Duru Aydin: Hey Mell, I always have frizz whenever I try brush styling, and I don’t have time to fingercoil. What can I do to fix that? Great content☺️

A.M.J: I loooooove UG's Curl Jelly. I've just run out and was wondering if it was worth a repurchase (it's not drugstore where I live haha.) Glad to see it's a yes!

Madelline Kalenius: Can I just say I caved and bought the AG curl fresh cream and oh my goodness you guys hyped it up so much and it SO lived up to the hype

Morgan Lipton: Mell! Your hair color here is everything! My hair is dark and I’m looking to change to something like this - what can I tell my stylist about the shade of your color? I’m thinking a warm caramel? Also, totally agree you look so amazingly beautiful at the end here!

Lisa Townsend: How does Mell's hair look better on day 4 than mine does on day 1? Mell, you make-up is poppin.

Talia Hasiuk: Many times throughout the video you said, if your hair needs hydration this is good, or if your hair is damaged this helps. But how do you tell if your hair is dehydrated or damaged? What can be the different damage that your hair has gone through?

Jesi: Hey Mel, I was wondering if you could make a video dedicated to products you would recommend for each hair type? My curls have changed quite a bit over the years and I’m finding that my hair is still low porosity but it feels more fine and less thick than it once was. Therefore the products I used to use when my hair was more thick and full it weighs my hair down even more…. Any recommendations? Thanks for all your awesome content

Subha Chugh: Hi, I 2b - 3a curls and I've found that if I refresh my curls (just wet them and let them dry, no product) they turn out to be A LOT better and naturally wavy and textured than when I shampoo and plop and everything (I don't use heavy products, just use oil and aloe before washing, wash my hair, put a little conditioner on and then sometimes flax seed gel, that's all) Does anyone know why this could be? My mom has type 2c - 3c hair and it's the same with her

Sarah Reay: I love the curl jelly nice cast and smells lovely looking forward to watching this video ❤

Esmeralda Doyle: Just found your channel and my hair is excellent like yours. I just purchased the new kerastase curl manifesto and I would love to see you doing one review or evaluation of the products. It is expensive but I had used kerastase in the past and seen to be very good products. Thank you!!!

Audrey Woodside: Hi Mel! I love you so much! And I believe my hair texture is pretty much like yours. I’d like to know if you could do a video on hair twists, just because I like my curl to be a little looser after my hair is dry. Thank you so much

Kayla Holst: Thank you for reviewing Noughty! Dupe videos would be very nice!! Thanks for your informative and entertaining videos ☺️

buddy holly: I think we should remember that if a conditioner is more runny it usually means there's more water in it, which means you're going to run through that bottle. I prefer a thick conditioner, i can always water it down.

Annie Mayfield: I would like to see some eco friendly styling products :)

Mimie N.: I'm loving the Curl Jelly side.. Curls look great!

Unavailable A: Omg yesss!!!they started selling this so glad you tried the gelly one out

geekygirl01: The curl jelly is one of my favs. Has anyone used the Boots Curl Creme in the pink tub. It’s not technically cg friendly but I use it every once in a while and I always get great results and it’s so cheap. It’s kinda like a one n done.

Karen Levitt: OMG yes. High porosity hair here; with no product and a brief blot with a microfiber towel, it air dries in less than 30 minutes into a shapeless ball of dandelion frizz.(Getting a haircut tomorrow) If I diffuse it with no product, it takes about 15 minutes and has shape and my regular but moderately frizzy loose curls and waves With product— minimum 45 minutes to diffuse.

Andrea: Hey Mel I wanted to know your thoughts about ‘naked curls’. I’ve seen people talking about wearing little to no products in their hair for weeks at a time to see how their hair reacts and I’d like to hear your take on that. Love your vids so much!!!

Rebekah: Thank you Mell, my mum bought me the noughty scrunching jelly and I wasn't sure if it was any good so this is very helpful :) Also what's your opinion on cantu cause I've been using it for about a year now and I've heard a lot of bad stuff about it lately so I'm a bit worried

GabbyFormando: The bag on your head is everything

Koko Ata: I love your videos they always give me inspiration about what to do to my curly hair and my curls have changed a lot

1922mistyblue: I have fine high porosity hair and it dries pretty quickly. It was helpful to see your hair shedding after detangling.

Sara M.: I enjoyed this video so much. I don't brush my gel through my hair because my hair is so thin and by doing so I lack volume. I just gentle glaze my hair with a bit of lightweight gel.

Roowoo: I used to use umberto when I was 18-22 and I wish I’d never stopped it was super popular in the uk and I just reordered after 8 years

BatN1ppl3s: "Mind ya business" I have coarse low porosity hair. Everything takes forever to dry, especially with product except the very top portion of my head and around my hairline. Those hairs are very fine and dry instantly. I'm loving those wings/your makeup towards the end of the video!

Emily: Can’t wait for this. I was allergic to Noughty & I’m hoping Umbeto Giannini is better. I was really impressed when Amanda tried it on Amazon Live. I bought it but haven’t tried it yet.

Amber Noland: I must be weird. I think the Noughty side looked better long term, super defined... and I hated the Noughty Intensive Repair shampoo and conditioner. The CG side looked messy and undefined to me. I'm always bassackwards. Oh well.

Monifa Homza: Absolutely stunning your Day 4 hair and makeup!!!

Cristina Antoniuc: wow your hair looks absolutely amazing!

Agnes: Hi love your videos. I have learned a lot about my wavy hair. I try getting my highlights only 1 or 2 times per year. With hair salons being closed I had a challenge with my gray roots. What would you recommend for a temporary home fix when you can’t go to the salon. I try vegan hair colour that wash out after a couple of washes but it didn’t work. I don’t want to damage my hair more. Help

Jessica Galyon: Just got the noughty leave in & wow. I had over moisturized hair & it was jacked up. This fixed it quick.

Heather Scherer: Your makeup looks so flattering and hair is fierce! I have high-po hair too and not only does it kick out water, it kicks out hair color too!! Suggestions???

Leslie Alarcon: Hello mell!! I love your videos you're a very good teacher and so fun to watch. I was wondering if you think the brush styling method would work on wavy 2A/2B hair?

Jesus Loves YOU: I agree the giannnininiiii side (lol) looks better but both look great - I'm digging the next day hair and your gorgeous eye makeup

Tatum Reed: I have a video suggestion! I would like to see you use the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay as your shampoo! The clay is supposed to remove build up and enhance curl definition!

Ella Garfi: I’d love to see you test other unberto giannini curl products, like the Curl Repair line!

CosyCuteKnits: I would love to see you do a first impressions video of the Flora & Curl brand!

Windy Woods: Hey Mell I tried the twist product line and it left my hair feeling super dry. What is a budget friendly line you would suggest for moisture?

M F: Your hair is looking beautiful! I love the colour and the length !!!

Emmy Johnson: I love Gianni Umberto products.. I used their weatherproof creme which is great for wintery dog walks...and rainy, damp days..

Fatimah Ibrahim: I would love to see a battle of your go to products.. like aveda vs curlsmith or ag vs eva nyc etc.. I'm surprised you haven't got the leave in cremes (conditioner and defining) from noughty.. I love both of their cremes but I've not tried their gel..

yasmine: so excited for this! gonna be an amazing vid as usual

Sassy Cats Lacquer: I love the curlsmith bonding oil, I've only used all those same UG products twice still deciding how they work for my 2a 2b waves

Ilmara Santos: More videos with products like this!this curly girl from overseas needs some help ;)

Nili Nawabi: Hey Mell! I was wondering if you could do a video of the money piece hair trend, I would like to do something different with my hair but very subtle and a soft money piece seems cool but i wondered what your take on that would be <3

Amanda Wilson: I'm lo po so my hair dries SUPER FAST if the water is just on the outside of the hair, like from a spray bottle; but it takes HOUUURRRRSSSSS to dry once it is actually fully wet.

Star 123: Gorgeous Results!!! Team high porosity with bleach damage Hard hold gel FOREVER

Natalie Filchner: I would love to hear your thoughts on the Noughty Wave Hello Curl Defining Taming Cream, it is one of my all time favorite curl creams and would love to see you try that one out too!

Kaity Miller: I haven't tried Umberto Gianninni...But I have tried the Noughty products. Ugh they smell amazing! They smell like the beach!I love that since I'm a mermaid‍♀️ Loved seeing your comp-HAIR-ison!!➿

Cinthia Without a Y: Mell! This make up looks amazing on you!!!!!

ZayZay: Product battles are my fav kind of videos❤️❤️

sn12: Noughty leave in is my absolute fav!

Rebecca Felts: Love this video!! You're so helpful ❤️. Have you heard about the new shark hair dryer? Any thoughts?

Jac C.: I do both! Brush through a light weight gel and top it with a thicker gel #highmaitenence
