Hi everyone welcome back to my channel in today's video. We are going to be talking about five products. You don't need to buy now. I'M a big believer in the right products for your hair can absolutely help you achieve the style and look you're going for. So this isn't in any way to diminish the importance of product, but i also feel like we live in a day and age that, like product is everything everywhere. You look, there is something you need to buy so before we get into the list of the five products you don't need. I just wanted to introduce a today's video sponsorship, which is skillshare. You guys know. I'Ve worked with skillshare before and i actually joined skillshare on my own before i was ever approached for a sponsorship. Cisco share is an online learning community, where you can take classes basically on just about anything when i was getting ready to put together my online class. I had all these ideas and i had an exact vision of what i wanted to share with you. But what i didn't know was how to lay it out how to categorize the classes, and i instantly thought: there's got to be a class out there. That is going to help me. Do this so skillshare kept popping up. Of course i had heard of it and i was like let me give it a try signed up. I watched about 45 minutes of one class and instantly i was like i have it. I i get it now, and so this class completely helped me put together my beauty and lifestyle course, which is a live and look lux, and on our 10 year anniversary i figured it was time to bring you a course. That'S a little bit more intimate and where i go in a little bit deeper. So that's what i created and now that i'm a new mom and time is more limited to me. Learning is what continues to keep me inspired. If you haven't tried skillshare, i highly recommend you try it. There is absolutely a class for everyone. Currently i am taking the one by john venice, i'm a huge fan of him and anything that he puts out. I am absolutely a customer for, and once you become a new mom, it's all about you know taking care of everything about yourself and i've tried really hard in this fourth trimester to try and take almost as good care of myself. As i am of my new baby um, because i i know that i i can only give her the best if i'm feeling my best, so it's one of those things that it feels like relaxation, but i also feel like i'm gaining something so yeah. I'Ve left a link in the description box, so go ahead and use code, l, bangs and join skillshare today, alright, so the first product you don't need to purchase is super expensive shampoos. I feel like shampoos for the longest time was like the most ignored part of your beauty, self-care routine, and i feel like more recently, it's gone like the opposite direction, where it's like. I have a 110 dollar shampoo. I know the aesthetic in your bathroom and how it looks and all of that super important, but spending 110 dollars, sometimes plus on a shampoo. There is no shampoo, that's going to give you the results of for that price. If that makes sense, i'm all for spending larger amounts of money on something that i'm actually getting that quality in return and, if you're, paying that crazy amount of money and most of the reason why it's expensive is for the packaging for the branding or all of That, then, to me, that's a big no-no, so more importantly, use a shampoo and conditioner that suits your hair type and your hair needs and you're going to be way better off than having something that's just expensive and not necessarily suiting your hair. If you haven't yet tried a my shampoo and hair care line, i've customized four simple to use bundles that are going to target your specific hair needs and the reason why i did this was because i really wanted to focus on really maximizing the ingredients that you're Getting for your hair type and you're not paying a single penny for something you don't need. I will leave a link for that as well down below all right. The next one is having a hot tool for every single style. A lot of my friends that are not hairdressers: they will have a curling iron, a straightening iron, a crimper, the airwrap, the blow-dry brush, i mean all of it. I don't believe that you need all of that. If you think about it, salons typically will have a blow dryer and a curling iron, and basically i can create almost any style with those tools. So my tip here is, if you have all of them, awesome you're, set if, if you're looking or on the market to buying the best, you know for your hair. My tip here is buy high quality and have one to two tools. It is so much better to have a good quality blow dryer and say a good quality, curling iron or straightening iron, because that's, what's gon na, add a ton of heat to the hair, whereas, if you're like well, i have like seven tools, so i didn't get The nicest one, and so eventually what you end up putting on your hair daily, even though it's one of these different products or tools that you're using you're end up using less quality on your hair, and you have hundreds of dollars stashed in your hair cabinet. So definitely quality over quantity here um, but i promise your hair will. Thank you all right. The next one is spending money on products or oils that do nothing but coat the hair. I'Ve talked about this for years on my channel. So when you're, using a hair oil on your hair to to create shine, diminish, frizz uh, you want a good quality oil. That'S actually going to penetrate deep into the hair and heal from the inside out now. In order to do that, the oil needs to be a small enough molecule to actually go deep into the hair. If you are using an oil with a much larger molecule or something that's not necessarily designed for hair like when people say they use coconut oil. Sure it's going to make your hair feel great. It'S a natural ingredient. It'S going to be bad for the hair, absolutely not, but it is not going to have healing benefits over time. So something like a good quality. Argan oil argan. The molecule is actually tiny enough. That it is going to penetrate into the hair now. What does that mean? That means you know when your hair is frizzy and you apply some oil. Of course oil has weight. So it's going to add shine instantly, but if you are using a good quality oil and that's penetrating deep into the hair, long term use of that product say in 30 days, you're actually going to notice a difference in your hair versus a product. That'S only coating. The hair and basically, what you're doing is you almost become more addicted to that, because the hair is still damaged underneath all that oil. So every time you wash your hair, it's almost like. Oh my gosh, my hair is actually way more frizzy than i thought, and then you end up using more product and then the hair doesn't breathe and then you're caught in this like negative cycle, so using a good, clean quality, hair oil is key. You also don't need something too fragrancy to perfumey um, just a good quality, simple, organic argan oil is perfect. All right. The last product that you don't need is a styling product. That does only that. So what that means is when your hair is wet and you're. Putting in a volumizing product or a shine product, you want to make sure that that product is also a heat protector, the fact that you're already putting a product into the hair while the hair is damp, it should absolutely be doing at least two functions. A it's going to be better for the hair, putting in one product versus layering, a ton of products, the hair will just dry so much more, naturally in clean feeling, but also in terms of cost. So anytime, you're looking at styling products, try to think of hair care as well and again. Another great option is to start in the shower so many times i'll have clients say like oh, my hair is so frizzy, so i bought this oil and then i bought the smooth and i got this other product and like it's like seven steps to get my Hair first free and then i'll ask what shampoo are you using? Oh, i don't know i'm just like finishing up what i have in the shower, so most likely that shampoo isn't supporting that look. You were trying to achieve with your hair, so it starts in the shower using a product that is already working towards that hair goal, while the hair is wet, is how you're going to really achieve those results, all right guys. I hope all of those tips were helpful. I hope this was simple, easy short and sweet, and please, let me know if you two are like over this. I can need to buy a new thing all the time or if you are into the product recommendations i feel like. I definitely go through stages of it. Um sometimes i'm just like. Ah, like i just want to clear my house with everything, and i want one hair product and one outfit like nothing else and then other times it's like, i really want to be inspired. I want to see what's out there so um, i'm sure you guys are probably the same but yeah. Let me know how you guys feel about that so anyway. I hope you found this video interesting if you would like a video similar to this, but for like makeup or skincare or anything else. Let me know, and i would be happy to put that together for you. So, thank you so much for watching and i'll see in the next one. Bye.

J C: The actual video starts around 2:45.

Livingthe_Sassylife: Love how informative your videos are and always straight to the point Never have to fast forward. Thanks for breaking it all down

Martha: I have dry damaged hair and overtime I learned that it is more expensive to try many different cheap products trying to find the right one because at the end none of them worked for me. Then I decided to try expensive products: kerastase, sebastian, olaplex, and my hair improved enormously! It is almost as beautiful as it was when I was a very young girl with perfect virgin hair my favorite products (for my damaged, dry, aging hair) are: shampoo: kerastase nutritive bain satin 2 & olaplex, hair mask: olaplex #8 (instead of conditioner), leave on treatment: sebastian no breaker leave in spray, and kerastase nutritive nectar thermique. Expensive products but hey, I go to the hair salon only 2 or 3 times/year just to get a trim, and I do my nails always by myself so... I can expend a little more on hair care, it is totally worthy

Cris Headley: I am totally over the need to have multiple products for my hair and make up too! The hard thing is finding those few products that will work that best suit my needs. You certainly helped to steer me in the right direction!

Tasha CS: Thank you for this- my hair stylists are always posting on instagram “$10 shampoo won’t maintain $300 color” I haven’t noticed the expensive stuff to keep my hair blonder, longer

Lynn Rose: I love how you break things down. I have learned a lot from you.

Georgia Jacquett: This was a very informative and eye opening video because I admit being a hair product tool junkie, lol. I actually stopped making impulse purchases of hair tools and blow dryers. Can you please do a video on how and why hair breakage happens in the crown area of the head ? I am relaxed , grew out an over processed hair highlight job in 2017 and have been experiencing this breakage and have been diligent on regrowing it since 2020 but no luck .

Tara Fazio: Sylvia, I was just on Amazon looking for something to tone my hair in between salon visits. Looked at a few options, then came across the clairol shimmer lights permanent cream toner. Scrolled through the pictures and saw YOU. Do you actually promote this product or are they using your likeness? Curious because I will probably buy this product if you actually recommend it. If not, you should know they are using your likeness lol

MrsBungle78: Are silicones in shampoo/conditioner still considered bad? It seems like it’s hard to find frizz taming products that don’t have silicone in them.

Gail Karabell: Good video, would luv recommendations on products you feel work best for the health of the hair aside from Argon oil.

Debbie Giori: I really enjoyed this video. Very informative and to the point :)

S.Gerasimova: Hi Sylvia, Thank you for all your valuable videos and the great content. I learned so much from you! I know there are many videos you made on bleaching, but I didn't find that topic. Sometimes it happens to have lighter roots than lengths when bleaching my roots, how to avoid this from happening? I really love my blond but I am terrified when I need to do the roots as I am always unsure how they will turn out. My natural color is level 5 and my lengths are ashy 10. Thank you for your kind advice in advance!

Ginger Toste: I use an argan oil after I blow dry, just like 1/4 tsp rubbed into my palms run through my hair and it makes a huge difference in the shininess and there’s no more frizz!!!

ingrid: Congrats on your little one! One could apply the same rules to skincare, but I love using my beautifully packaged gorgeous Chanel and Dior skincare, it makes me happy. Same I suppose is true of hair stuff. What many may not know is it’s not doing anything better for your hair , that expensive shampoo, right? Or beautifully packaged skincare. But Ce la Vie, we all need things that brighten up our day. I need hair help! I’d love a virtual consult! Your hair looks gorgeous it’s natural color, so healthy. Question: in your experienced opinion which do you prefer for hair color? Chi Ionic or Redken? I had major surgery last year and my hair thinned tremendously ugh, any suggestions besides Biotin?

linxj6: What do you recommend for new hair coming back after chemo? I trust your judgement more than anyone else. Would love to see a video about this...

Laverne Nippard: Love this video Are there any good quality hair products from the drug store? What would you recommend?

Priscilla Nieto: The products I use on my hair out of the shower is the Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Leave in Conditioning Spray right after I shower, let it air dry a bit, then use the Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil UV & Heat Protectant Styling Spray right before I blow dry, then I finish off my ends with the It's a 10 Miracle Styling Potion to combat frizz & futher hydrate the ends. These 3 products are essential to my soft, protected hair. In the shower for the most part I use the Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner. Quality, doesn't weigh my hair down, doesn't break the bank, & my hair is so soft after.

Kimberley O'Connell: Hi Sylvia, I just wanted to say that I hope you had a BEAUTIFUL first Mother's Day!

Sabine Kreuz: you look gorgeous again today my Dear! and the Jacket you´re wearing is so nice. I did not even know, there are that expensive shampoos existant I am so glad you mentioned again the hair oils and what we have to pay attention to. Finally I was able to get my hands on the unite blonda oil, beeing shipped from the states. And so far I am so glad that you ever introduced Unite to us. This is so far for me my most helpful provider for products to tame my hair. Thanks again, Sylvia, always glad to see you. Take care.

Jenny Putnam: I have medium brown hair with hilights that gets very frizzy. Can you recommend which of your shampoo/conditioner/mask I should purchase? Also, how do I get the 30% discount for being a first time customer?

Aly Kat: I’d love to know what blush & eye shadow your wearing here- - it’s gorgeous!! I think you wear it in most your vids

jabeda mukith-chowdhury: Such great advice thank you love from England x

Danii Carrión Zavala: great video! can you please give us products examples of each categories mentioned to know how to simplify the hair care routine

Alyssa F: Would definitely love further recommendations.

Diana A.: Hi, I love listening to you. I have medium brown hair with blonde highlights. Which one should I get? I have oily scalp but dry where I have the highlights. I want to try your bundles.

Tarah H.: Hi, do you have any experience using the Taya Amazon clay products?

Jessica America: This is so helpful..loved it can you do a skincare video and makeup video..I’m learning a lot

Cathey's Cosmetic Corner: I'm asking this and it's pretty specific, but I've never seen an answer about blue shampoo on your channel. I have a level 5 that's too golden or what I call brassy. Can I get it to be ashy (the blonde highlights that are a part of it as well) using a blue shampoo without darkening it? Because if I want a level 4 Ash I know how to do that with a dye or a gloss. Please don't believe the profile pic anymore lol

Gail Karabell: If I were to invest in a good hair dryer what would be your suggestion on the best one to buy that’s healthiest for the hair?

Jacqueline Marbach: The Best YouTube Channel! Thank you so much

Fringe Beauty - Frugal Gets A Facelift: I’d like more information on the best way to repair frizzy hair, not just mask it until the next washing.

Pandora victoria: What is your favorite hair oil?

Brooklyn Milburn: Hiii so. I have bleached my hair two times prior to using a medium brown permanent box dye all over twice, yes I know big mistake. I am now trying to go back blonde but I have no idea where to start without absolutely ruining my hair. PLEASE HELP

Samantha Alford: I looked into your shampoo line but i have ecxema on my scalp and have dandruff now too and i didn't see anything for that. Can you recommend any good argan oil brands? You should develop a hair oil! I love your channel. Been watching for years!

It’s SAVVIE: thanks for the info. what are your thoughts on k18 vs Olaplex 3?

aNNa xOxO: Happy Mother's Day gorgeous

Alina H: I'm using Moroccan argan oil. I'm also using Vitoria hair shampoo and conditioner. My hair sheds and my scalp is showing in some parts because my hair is thin.

Anna: QUESTION. I’m not sure if you answer questions but, I stumbled across your videos and thought you would have an answer. I’m not your younger viewer. I let my hair grow about 4” . My sides are white, my middle is mostly white with some black and the back of my hair mostly black brown with 25% gray. I don’t color that part. I bleached the dark out of my lifetime colored hair. It is pale yellow. I’m curious when adding color now if, I should start with 20 % for a 9 ash blonde and then do the rest with a 10% over the yellow. I’m trying to move to using just toning glosses in the future once I’m past this 6” of bleached hair. Your thoughts. Or anyone of your viewers may have advice. I’m interested in your thoughts.

HIVE SALON: Don’t buy yours by hers… love the sales

Olga Fukscovia: Is olaplex oil ok for healing ?

Pandora victoria: I have olaplex hair oil and some I feel it just coats the hair, what is your take on olaplex oil, I see the ingredients have corn oil and dimethocone

Connie Capitano: I used argon but makesy hair so oily. It's very fine. Help

Kirsty Macfarlane: I can't get the bundles in the UK, gutted x

D Hurley: Happy Mother’s Day

Kimmysaad: Happy Mother’s Day!!!!

AlexAiz215: Hi! Def need some product recommendations

Cynthia Somavilla: Thanks

Liz Farrell:

Kendra Voracek: ❤️

Angela Jane Lomax: Nice ❤ ❤

Fufu issue: Why she didn't post her products that on the thumbnail and wanted to shade other brands products who works wonder, just been a HATER girl do better❗️
