New Kids On The Block! My Daughters Chop Off Their Hair! Mixtape Tour Highlights And Major Makeover!

Hello, my friend today is like a three in one vlog, so many different things going on in the evening. I'M having a daddy's night out. I am gon na go see new kids on the block with n vogue, salt and pepper and rick astley, and i'm so excited about that and having some adult time with a girlfriend. But before that, i'm gon na take the girls to do something and in between i'm going to give you a life parenting update what you're going to do. I am going to take the two of them to get a haircut and not just any haircut. I think it's time it's time and especially because it's summer it's summer now, like memorial day weekend is the start of summer. It'S time, maybe not that short, but really short yeah like shoulder length. I think it's still important. I need for simplicity for ease. I have to still be able to put their hair in ponytails, but right now turn around it's hard to see. Wait! Look at it's. So this is in a braid and it's that long you're putting your head down. You can put your head like normal. Their hair is so long. Well, i don't know, maybe shoulder length, we'll see so we're gon na. Do that my life parenting, update and also uh the concert so join us. Can i just share my genuine and heightened enthusiasm. I am so excited for the concert this evening. I'Ve seen nkotb before more than once and they are super awesome, live and i've never seen nvogue salt and peppa or rick astley in concert, and i'm just as stoked for that, and i'm also excited to have some adult time. Like i mentioned, you know, it is important in whatever ways you can to nourish your heart and soul. I need to make a mental note that i want to take a bath. It'S the little things i want to take a bath soon and just or maybe in the hot tub, but if i get in the hot tub my kids will want to get in with with me. I want to get in my bathtub and just take a bath and, oh god, anyways yeah. You know what went into my mind this morning. I don't even know if i handled that right, i don't even know i don't know this morning i was walking to the gym. I thankfully have a gym. That'S walking distance to my house and i walked by this elementary school and the gym. My time for my class was 7am. I was running a little late today. I don't know what time the elementary school starts or that they allow drop-offs. I would assume. 8 a.m. Is when they start or 8 15 or 8 30. at my kids school, they start at 8, 15, sharp. So at around 702. I see this. What must have been a third grader sitting outside the gate, waiting to go in school, dropped off early with no parent or caregiver around, and i stopped for a moment in shock and thinking of what to do - and i didn't know what i don't i don't i I didn't want to make the child uncomfortable. I didn't want to make him feel afraid, so i just decided to just go to the gym and i don't think i live in a dangerous area, but i do live. You know not that far from areas where unhoused people congregate, these are people who have been known to steal from outside the homes and things like that, and i just i don't i don't even know. I don't even know why i'm bringing this up. I think, because that's what came into my mind, i'm unfiltered - i don't have a list of things written down to talk about this past week - has felt a lot like the summer of 2020, with the social uprising in the united states and the the protests and the Anger and the insanity that that was, and so many people are on edge right now, so many people are angry and angry at me. For speaking my opinions - and i don't care if you're angry at me because of that i'm not going to change to placate anybody. I'M not going to say what i think people want to hear, i'm going to say what i really think in multiple instances. You know i talked about it on the podcast, but a lot of people are upset because i have a sensible approach to the whole johnny depp and amber herd situation. In my mind, you may disagree with me, but i think they're both guilty of abuse. I think neither of them are innocent. I think she's lying and he's lying. I think she's telling the truth and he's telling the truth and the only ones that will really know what truly happened are the two of them and i've had mostly johnny depp fans. Bullying me and a lot of people unfollowing me and if i was listen, i'm thirsty i'm thirsty i like to be transparent. I am thirsty, but i'm not desperate, okay, so goodbye to them. I say, or even you know, people angry at me because i shared somebody asked me if, if i was scared to send my kids to school - and i said no, because it appears the statistics show that all or i will say almost all - of the school shootings In and capacity, oh, oh thank you look at what mia made me. That is the heart of the bum button i feel like this is the heart of the what the person of jesus. This is the heart of jesus christ. It feels like s'mores, oh wow. It feels yummy, i don't even think you've ever eaten s'mores. What do you? Even? How do you even know what s'mores are? Wait? No yeah, okay! I know what it is all right. Well, i'm i'm filming now mia. What are you doing? I'M just talking. Do you want to go? Have lunch? No, all right! Let me let me hold on this was so sweet of her the heart of jesus. I normally keep all of her pres all of her art and presence. She makes me, but this one might be hard to keep and i'm concerned that the cotton balls won't age well, but we have this moment in this video forever. I love all of my children. I love to see them express themselves. I love their big hearts, their their compassion intellect their empathy. The same thing is compassion, um, their their humor anyways. I would love if there was a study as to why most or all most to all, almost all of the school shootings happen in public schools. It can't be just because there are more public schools than private schools. There has to be more reasons than that. I wonder what it is but having. I said that i'm not afraid because of that and in the same sentence or the same paragraph, the same comment i also said, and i think that all children should be safe in school. I am saddened that privilege can keep children safer. That shouldn't be the case. All of our children, whether they go to public school or private school, should be able to go to school and go home at the end of the day, and if that comment upset people bye anyways, this has been a challenging week, but it hasn't been all bad. Wait, let me i'll give you an update um, it hasn't been all bad because well, i was in san diego last or a weekend and a half ago with my daughter mia for her seventh birthday and we had the best time. But unfortunately i did not schedule myself well, when i got back, i should have taken the next two to three days completely off doing nothing other than catching up with work. Instead, i had a really busy monday. I took my mother, the plastic surgeon and i surprised her she's been feeling down. She barely likes, leaving the house anymore. She'S healthy, but she's lost a lot of weight and because of good reasons, she's being more mindful about what she eats and she felt like her face had sunken in and was looking hollow. So i took her to get botox which she wanted and then i surprised her with fillers, which she had never had done before, because she wouldn't spend that kind of money on herself she couldn't afford it. Fillers are expensive, botox is expensive and i had a great doctor give it to me for free. So shout out to dr carl truesdale in beverly hills. We love the results. Let me actually show you. My mother's results cause she's there i heard here it doesn't matter. I want to see an update on your face at the boy wow. The botox already looks better too. I think so. Yes, oh my god, look at your forehead. It looks so much better already. That'S amazing! Since monday wow and the cheeks everything it all looks so natural too. Oh, yes, thank you so much doctor, dr carl truesdale. You look amazing. Thank you, wow. I feel amazed and unhappy wow. This is that's crazy. Thank you. Wait. I'M gon na have to do a separate video to share it afterwards, with just a reel of that maybe monday in a few days so yeah. I did that on monday i did something else as well tuesday. I did an interview for the dan le batard le batard show, and i had an hour 15 minute call um about something work related wednesday. I had my podcast and i had to film something off site like not at my house, so it was just a crazy week and i didn't get the opportunity to catch up. After coming back from san diego and thankfully i was laser focused with my eating, but i didn't get back into the gym until five days after getting back from san diego, and i was planning to go right that first monday after getting back - and i feel better About myself, when i work out and it's the best way to start my day and this past week i barely slept - i was barely functioning like i was in such as i'm still in that zombie state. Honestly, i i wish i didn't have to go to that concert, i'm looking forward to the concert, but i wish that it was like in two or three days so that i could just sleep tonight and get caught up, but it is what it is. I am so grateful for everything, the the good, the blessings, the bad so grateful for you, so grateful for my kids and my mom so grateful for chris booker, my podcast co-host, so grateful for. What'S on the horizon excited about the future i haven't hold on my mom's calling me see: okay, you're welcome um fudge. I forgot what i was gon na say now. Ah, oh yeah, i remember i have not discussed the situation in texas with my children because i think that those things should be. I don't want to expose them to that if they haven't been exposed to it. Yet you know what i mean like i've been consuming way too much media about it, but i don't watch it on television, so it's not on a big screen, so my kids aren't watching it. I i i would think that that's harmful for children to be listening or absorbing that um and i don't know if they've heard about it in school. If my son or any of my children asked me about it, then i would have an appropriate age-specific and detailed conversation about it and the implications and what they could do to be safe. That'S really important to have be quiet, be small, pretend to be dead. I hate this reality and i hate the pessimism that i believe we will not change things. There'S so many changes we can make to make not just schools but america safer, and we will not do it. Oh well. I want to stop because this is not supposed to be a bummer of a video anything specific with my kids, oh yeah. I also had doctor's visits like oh, my god. I spend so much time at all of our doctors, but thankfully they're all healthy wrapping up the school year. Yes, we're still in school here in our schools, with my kids and and public school. The kids, i want them to get their passports renewed recently and took their photos, but now i'm taking mine because i'm still trying to manifest international travel. Oh okay, i had the best conversation with my friend on the ride back telling her the breakdown for the show and now i'm exhausted, but i'm gon na muster up my energy to tell you my true and honest thoughts on the experience i loved it. I have nothing negative to say it was everything nkotb fans would want. They got a full show from new kids, all of the hits. You know like a party like a lot of old school jams, just karaoke, basically um fun, mashups and new arrangements. Uh production. You know there was pyro, there was uh confetti uh. There was a b stage and performing at multiple points. Throughout the arena there was some shirtlessness, some cheesiness, we love cheese. We love silly, we love showmanship, you know what makes new kids great is that there are, and this is not a diss. There are three big personalities in that group: joey donny and jordan, the other donny donnie, wahlberg and danny wood right. So jonathan and danny am i getting danny wood. Let me make sure yeah all right. I was right: okay, um. You know those three main front personalities. They all do what they do so well, donny's the hype. Man and joey and jordan are, you, know the heartthrobs they're, still heart, throbs they're still giving it to us and the vocals, and you know all of the sp. You know who surprised me the most in vogue. They looked and sounded amazing. The voices, the bodies, the hair, the makeup, the costumes they were also giving choreography. It was awesome, and you know rick astley, one of the most iconic songs of all time and salt and peppa always crush it and push it and they have so many hits. I'D love to see them and and vogue, maybe do their own tour, so they could perform longer or more songs. I don't know, but it worked so well in that format and i loved that they did it. You know when i saw them last time. I didn't see the last tour with debbie, gibson and tiffany, and i forget who else, but i saw new kids at the hollywood bowl a few years ago with boys to men, paula, abdul and somebody else. I forget who the other act was, but that was kind of kid and play. I don't remember, but that was kind of like a traditional one act goes on, then the other act goes on and the other act goes on for the mixtape show. I love that it was one experience from start to finish. There was no down time in between artists. It was awesome, it was you'd, definitely get your money's worth. I have no, not a single note. Well, maybe there was one note, not one note, but it didn't bother me. I was so curious if there was a live band or not because where were they, but even if they did perform to track? Who cares? Because they were all singing live and they sounded amazing and i get it performing a track saves money and they spent a lot of money on talent because there's a lot of performers a lot and a lot of performers with multiple people in the group. So you know you have five boy band members that each want to earn as much as possible per night. You have three and in vogue two insult and peppa and rick. So you know like how they did. Production was also very smart because they did a lot of production, but not too much either like they didn't have lifts, and you know they they. They were very smart with how they spent they had production, but clearly the amount of money. The most money went to the artists and you had a great lineup of talent. It was awesome. I can't wait to see them again in a few years. I don't know if they should do this every single summer, because it makes it a little bit less special, but every three years i think, it'd be perfect, just my thoughts anyways.
