I am super excited for today's video. It'S probably going to be a long one, so I'm gon na be putting timestamps down in the description box. You can skip ahead to different parts. If you only want to hear about a certain thing, but today's video is going to be about my hair and I have not done a hair video in forever, because my hair kind of sucks also it's wet right now. I just put it up in this clip cuz, I just washed my hair and I always let it air dry. So it's just chilling right now, if you guys are a subscriber, you know that I have been trying to grow my hair for the longest time. So in this video, I'm gon na be sharing with you guys my current haircare routine, and what I'm doing to help grow up my hair. I was going to wait until I was really happy with my hair to film this video, but I've been trying to grow up my hair for years and it's just like it's been a process. So I'm like you know what I don't know. What I'm gon na get around to that? I may as well just do a video talking about what I'm doing, and I am gon na be doing an update video later on. Ok, this just looks really stupid. So I'll start with the history of my hair. If any of you guys are interested feel free to skip ahead to one of the timestamps, if you guys don't want to hear this, you know what I'm just gon na leave this down. So I am a natural blonde. My hair is like a dirty blonde, but when I was younger I had quite light blonde hair and it was always very thick and shiny and just very healthy. It was never super long. I don't think I could physically grow my hair down to my butt. If I wanted some people's hair growth cycles just stopped at a certain point and it's gon na fall out of your head before it hits your butt. So I don't think I can grow my hair that long, but I have had my hair to Lake. I don't know maybe down here and that's kind of my goal. Length is just to be like a round boob level. I really tried to pinpoint when my hair started going downhill, because when I was younger it was always really nice and I think it was around 16 17. I got my period really late and I think it has to do with hormones. I have talked about this. A bit on my channel, but I don't have very balanced hormones, they're pretty out of whack, and I think that's played a major role in the quality of my hair. I also did a lot of box dye. I bleached my hair at home that definitely didn't help. I went through a phase where I bleached my hair quite heavily, and then my hair hit a point where I think it was the worst I'll try to insert pictures here and there. If I can find photos of my hair at different stages yeah. I had really platinum hair and I was like okay, my hair is so bad. I'M gon na die dark, so I dyed my hair really dark and I think I had it that color for, like eight months to year and pretty sure was under a year because I did it myself and I had so much bleach underneath it would always turn Quite red, but not like a red shade that I wanted, so it wasn't a good Brown and I decided to go back blonde again, obviously going from really dark back to blonde. When I already have all this bleach underneath is just really bad, but I honestly feel like that change didn't really affect my hair that much so now I am back at my middle light. Blonde hair, which is my most common hair, shade it's like medium light blonde. It looks a little bit darker right now, it's wet but got it back to that color, and it was like that for a while. I got really sick of having straggly ends, so I cut it quite short. It was very spur-of-the-moment thing. I went to the salon in the mall and I just told her to cut off all of the dead ends which I feel like. I could honestly do that again and I ended up with hair above my collarbone, like just above my collarbone, so I probably cut off like this much hair. But honestly, even with that cut, my hair was still pretty thin. I still didn't like the end, I'm like they're, not gon na shave, my head off and like I could keep cutting my hair shorter and it's not really looking any healthier. To be honest, so I know people are being helpful when they say cut off your ends, but I've done that before and it didn't even make a huge difference so yeah that is kind of a background on my hair. The chop was kind of like the starting point to when I decided I wanted to grow my hair healthy, and I made quite a few changes. I am implementing a few more that I hope are really gon na help, and that is what I'm gon na get to in this video. So I will start off with my color and in salon treatments kind of the more heavy-duty stuff. The past I would say three years, I've been getting olaplex every time I lighten my hair and I think that's made a huge difference before when I'd bleached, my hair, my hair, always felt very dry. I could see the breakage in my hair since using olaplex. My hair feels the same after I don't notice that there's crazy breakage or anything, so I would highly recommend using olaplex when you get your hair bleached. Also. I recently decided I'm going to stop putting bleach in my hair, so I hope this is going to help. I just got my last bit of highlights done a few weeks ago and I basically just got baby lights like up in this area here just to blend. In my roots to all this highlighted hair down here, I had a line that was just a little too solid for my liking, so he made it so it's easier to grow out my natural hair color, because that's what I want to do - and I eventually want To go a little bit darker up in like this top bit and just have lighter ends. That is my goal for when my hair grows out so yeah, I'm not putting bleach in it anymore, and I honestly think that is going to make a difference fingers crossed. I also recently got a keratin treatment. I think this might have been time. Flys man I'm like when did I get my keratin treatment because I feel like it's been a while and I think it's faded out quite a bit already. Maybe I got it on July 10th, so it's been over a month since I got my keratin treatment and it gradually fades out. I put off getting a keratin treatment for a long time, because I heard a lot of mixed reviews. Some people said it was very damaging for your hair and I think, there's a lot of different kinds. I made sure that there was no formaldehyde, so we used to have a Brazilian Blowout in Canada and it's actually illegal now, because the chemicals in it are just so bad for you, so it's banned. I think they still do it in the States. I think the only part of it that would be damaging is that they have to flat iron it into your hair, so they do apply quite a bit of heat, but overall it helps you use less heat when you're styling. So I did really like that. I don't know if I would do it again, just because it is pricey and it doesn't last super long, but I did like the results and like I can still all that my hair texture is a little bit smoother from that. So that is basically what I've done in the salon recently and what my plans are with that now I will talk about my haircare and what products I'm using so I'm kind of having a predicament, because I have a bunch of different shampoos and conditioners that I'm Wanting to use - and I only wash my hair about once or twice a week - so it's hard to use all of them, but after I got my keratin treatment, I was given this shampoo and conditioner. It'S called liquid keratin. This helps the treatment lasts longer in your hair. It'S a keratin, infusing, deep Dee, frizz, conditioner and shampoo, so I actually have not used these very often, which is probably why my keratin treatment is fading out faster than it should. But I have used these a few times. I also have a hairline it's from Kerastase, but it's new and I don't think it's out yet so I don't know if I can talk about it, although I feel like I've seen stuff about it online, I think maybe it hasn't come out in North America. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for this they're coming out with a hair line. I have it in my shower and it helps you grow out. Your hair, like it's supposed to help, maintain the length of your hair, so I have been using that I have a shampoo conditioner and a deep conditioner like a mask, but I also have the no yellow shampoo from finola. This is a purple shampoo that helps, helps counteract brassiness and keeps your hair more ashy. So I use this every once in a while, not very often but again I only wash my hair once or twice a week, so I don't overdo it with that and I've been using, neither all because my scalp has been flaking. I don't know if it is dandruff or psoriasis. I'M probably gon na focus on this shampoo right now, because I feel like the health of your scalp, is also very important when you're trying to grow out nice hair. Those are the shampoos and conditioners, I'm using also a tip, try not to wash your hair too much, because you can't over wash it and dry out your hair. After washing my hair, I've really been liking. This Shu Uemura oil essence absolute, nourishing, a protective oil, camellia oil and Hume. This is what the bottle looks like. I put some in my hair already a little more, but it smells really nice and it's just a nice leavin oil. Now I will talk about supplements and what I've been taking internally, so right off the bat I do want to say I don't think, there's a lot. You can do to help your hair grow faster, but I think what you put in your body really helps with the quality of hair that you grow, so I have been taking in the hair skin and nail gummies. This has biotin in it as well as vitamin C vitamin E and then there's just a bunch of the other ingredients are like vegetable and fruit juices and stuff. I am almost done. I only have this much left. I really like these. They taste really good. I eat them every day because I want to eat them, so I remember to eat them. I can't say if they have made a huge difference in my hair, but I feel, like my roots have been coming in good. The hair up until about like here is like really nice. It seems of high quality, so I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I do like taking these I've heard a lot about how biotin is good for your hair. So I'm getting my biotin in by taking these. I also ordered this gal. I was at a hair salon in LA my hairdresser recommended. I use this. He told me about all these success stories, so it's for thicker, fuller, looking hair may help to reduce hair shedding and woman. This is clinically proven. I don't know if that really means anything. I never looked into the ingredients before ordering this, which I don't know, there's shark cartilage, giant, Pacific, oyster horse, tail, acerbic acid, zinc, iron, millet, biotin nicotinamide, I don't know so yeah there is marine complex in this. If you're vegan, you might want to stay away. Just an FYI, but I haven't started using this, yet it was a little expensive. I will link all of these things down in the description box by the way, if you guys want to check them out, because I think I got this off Amazon but I'll find it for you. It was like 40 or 50 dollars. You get 60 tablets. I think you take one a day, so this like a two-month program and I'm gon na start taking these when I'm done these just because this has biotin in it, I don't want to be like taking too much biotin. I don't know so. That'S the thing: you're, not yeah, when I've done these, I'm gon na start on these, so I'm excited to try it because it seems like a little intense. So maybe it will do something and then, if there's any of you guys out there that have hormone problems like me, I will show you guys the pills that I don't take regularly enough, but I do notice a difference when I do take them as much as I should so. This is probably my number one. This is estro smart. It helps balance hormones, controls, breast play, controls, breast pain and effortless periods. So basically I won't get my period unless I'm taking these religiously and then I'll get it, which is crazy. It'S like all natural stuff welcome to some reason. This really helps. I also really like maca. This helps with your hormones. This one is maca, plus it has ginseng in it and I feel like if I take these every day. I noticed that I have more energy, so I really like that. I haven't been taking these religiously. Currently I've been taking these like every second day. I need to get better and this one is Audrina cents, and this helps with adrenal fatigue, which I don't know I'm talking about this, because I don't think this has anything to do with your hair. I also have adrenal fatigue, so I take these. So that is all the internal stuff. As far as styling goes, I made a little Instagram video. I don't know if you guys saw that or not just talking about some things that I've been doing to help reduce breakage when it comes to styling. One of the biggest things I find is hair ties are really bad for your hair and I wear my hair up in ponytails and buns like all the time, because I don't like my hair when it's down so I'm trying to use hair ties like this more And like scrunchies, just ones that put less stress on your hair, it's gon na cause less breakage, also using bobby pins. Instead of hair ties is better heat, wise, make sure you're, always using a heat protectant, and I try to let my hair air dry like pretty much every time my hair will air dry and then I need to use heat styling tools. If I want to look good so I use a heat protectant after my hair, the air dried and then only curl it or straighten it or if I'm gon na put it up, then I just don't use heat on it. So yeah. I think that's everything I feel like I made like a list cuz I knew I was gon na forget something one moment you care routine, oh yeah, thumbs of this video. If you guys want skincare routine. I want to do that and let me know because wonít cares and treatment stopping bleach. Oh a plug haircut! Oh yeah. The other thing I wrote done was no extension, so you guys know I well. If you guys watch my videos, you guys know that I had tape ins for the last two years. I honest you don't think that damaged my hair too much. I think it maybe made it a little thinner because when you take them out, it kind of pulls on some hair, but nothing crazy, but I think by not having the hair extensions it will help to. So I think that is everything. I really hope that this video is helpful to somebody. Please give this video a thumbs up if you liked it also give it a thumbs up if you guys want skincare routine. All the links to everything I talked about will be down in the description box. If you guys have tips on how to grow out your hair or just like hair care tips, comment down in the comments leave a comment below we can all chat about hair and it'll be sweet. I will also have my social media links down in the description box, be sure to check me out on Instagram. I use Twitter a little bit not really into Facebook as much anymore, but I do have all those links down there. Thank you guys so much for watching. I love you. If you haven't subscribe subscribe already, I just got to throw in all these plugs. Okay, see you in my next video bye,

Melissa Merk: If you're looking for more hair growth tips take a read through these comments! Thanks for all the suggestions guys :)

Courtney Dudley: I have Blonde hair to my hips that I have been growing for the past 6 years! I'd say the best things that have helped me are: I stopped bleaching my hair(I have balayage style) I stopped using hot tools and embraced my natural hair texture, wearing braids to bed, usually put in oil on the ends of my hair and trimming every couple of months!

Beauty Maikes: My hair situation was at the exact same point about 2-3 years ago, and I’m still working on it. It made huge progress though with the Kérastase discipline products (leaves your hair all nice and anti-Frizz so you don’t need heat tools every day) and the use of a good straightening iron. Love the ones from cloud9! ❤️

Melodie 33: Girl I feel u❤ so great to hear that someone goes through this struggle too

Stacy Alspach: I can totally relate to you! I started seeing an endocrinologist in between having my kids and found out my hormone levels were off. I was having all the same issues you talked about. I feel like my hair started changing in my 20’s then after I had kids it got even worse! He has me on medication but I don’t feel like it’s working! I recently saw that viviscal and nutrafol are suppose to help! I watched a video from a medical dr that specializes in women’s hair loss! I found both on amazon as well! Good luck on your hair journey!

SallyyDee: Honestly this video is so informative and helpful! I am actually going through the exact same thing as you with my hair and my hair history is pretty much the same too my hair just never grows.. olaplex really helped with my root retouch every 2 months, and I am still trying to grow it and make it healthier 6 years later fingers crossed ‍♀️

Abigail Alway: There’s not a ton I know about hair but I do study nutrition so I wanted to add onto your comment about “too much biotin” just to let you know, biotin is a vitamin B complex which makes it a water-soluble vitamin, meaning that any excess that your body doesn’t need is excreted in your urine, just like vitamin C! So there’s no way you can “overdose” on it, no need to worry:)

The Cottage Witch: I think stopping the bleaching will help your hair tremendously! Bleaching my hair ruined it so I've been maintaining it at shoulder length and slowly trimming the bleach out. Once I've cut out all of the bleach I'm then going to start growing it out. I would recommend washing your hair less, not using any heat, not brushing it when wet (and being gentle when you do brush) and using light oils on the end to help keep the moisturized and strong! We will be on this hair journey together haha <3

Kate Russell: This is so helpful!! I recently bleached my hair and it got pretty damaged. Trying to get it back to healthy

Valerista: Damn girl I have the same exact story, amd my hair looks just like yours, the lenghth and those bangs, literally the same, so I'm with you on that journey!

asAlwaysAriel: Great tips! Thank you! Another good one is Aphogee 2 step protein treatment. This alone made the biggest difference in my hair after totally ruining it from bleaching

Kate J: I have found that focusing on my scalp has helped the health of my hair, but I also think it grows faster. I never use heat on my hair unless I have an event to go to right after a shower, which is not often. Taking that into consideration, I have focused on scalp health recently because of irritation. I alternate between a clay-based shampoo (L'Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Rebalancing Shampoo), it helps with an oily scalp, and a scalp-based shampoo (Head and Shoulders Instant Relief Shampoo), which helps with scalp irritation. Focusing on my scalp has really improved the quality of my hair, I feel like it's stronger and healthier. I can't use the clay-based shampoo often, which is why I rotate with the Head and Shoulders shampoo, because it can dry out my scalp. If you don't have oily hair, I don't see the reason for using a clay-based shampoo. I think the main point in this post is scalp health is important in my routine.

ERIN NICOLE: I’m so happy you posted this! I feel as if I am in a very similar situation. I just want my hair to be healthy!

ali butler: thank you for this video!! my hair has gotten extremely thin & has had a lot of breakage because of heat damage, so i will definitely try out some of these products! i also noticed in a couple other of your videos you have clip ins possibly?? it would mean a lot if you could link it, but thanks again for the video girl

chels: If you stop using using heat styling tools on your hair you'll start to notice a huge difference!! Probably unrealistic for you to completely cut them out as you do modelling gigs, but if you cut out heat during your regular every day and only use it when you're doing jobs it'll really help. My hair used to be sooo damaged from bleach/straightening it everyday (even while using heat protectant, I feel like those don't actually do very much), so I completely cut out all heat tools for about 8-9 months and it completely changed my hair! I even dyed it during that time period of no heat, and just left the salon after the cut and told them to skip the blow drying/styling. It's been a couple years since doing that and my hair is still so much better, even with using the odd styling tool here and there.

XharonCT: I tried viviscal but my hair continued falling a lot so now I’m trying MSM with vitamin c (cheaper than viviscal) and liquid biotin. Also, I’m using onion juice on my scalp for healthy hair growth. Hope it works.

brooke elle: Thumbs up for skin care routine!

Ellie Somers: I went from thick hair to super thin hair so this was so helpful!!

LisaVita: Biotin is amazing. It's crazy how fast my hair grows now after being the same length for years. Oh and less heat also helps. I'm going to do a before and after biotin journey video soon.

Montanna Rose: You should try yucca root. Just blend some up with aloe Vera and apply it to your hair and leave it for an hour or so. Do that every week as much as you want and you will see a huge difference in the thickness and length. Hope this helps❤️

Linde Lois Smit: Girl. My best tip. Caster oil. 1/2 times a week. Best to leave in over night. When washing your hair shampoo twice. I used it and it works real fast. :)

Leone Boshoff: My hair was also thin, brittle and just in an overall bad state. So a couple of months ago I tried a new hairdresser and she advised me to take folic acid & iron supplements. It is so inexpensive, yet I can already see a HUGE difference.

Tiki Harls: Hi Melissa! Have you tried Natures Bounty Biotin 10,000 mg gel caps? I swear by those. Since I started them my hair has been growing so much faster. There’s also so many oils you can use including Neem oil. I talk about them in my Hair Care Essentials. Definitely give them a try if you haven’t. I promise you will see results! Love your channel by the way! ✨

Perrine B: I can relate sooooooo much! And I'm so angry when people are trying to help me by saying "Girl stop putting things in your hair (even organic and healthy conditioner etc) that's the reason they're damaged, look at mine i don't put anything in it and they're shiny and healthy" they don't understand that they are lucky and that mine suck and would probably much more damaged if I put nothing to repair them! Thank you so much for your tips, kisses from France <3

Tatyana Natalia: If you want your hair to grow long and healthy you should apply coconut oil to your hair every week...I'm telling you this because I'm not dying my hair or anything letting my hair grow natural and I love the results ❤️❤️❤️

Mirissa Valenti: I have the exact same hair as you. Bleached, tape ins, and looking for healthy growth! I just ordered these products online! Also, everyone says your my twin hahah

Hannah Nyland: Try using castor oil! Using a castor oil mix with another hair oil on your roots works really well since castor oil promotes hair growth

Abigail Elsavage: Do not bleach your hair. Bleach ruined my hair. No hair dresser is going to be honest & tell you how harmful bleach is, but take it from me. I’m someone who has bleached my hair so many times, because it did look good at first. But after a couple times doing it I could tell my hair was breaking off. Now my hair is so thin and broken. Embrace your natural color and natural hair. The less you do to your hair, the better it will look!

sbrincano: I had the same problem with my hair because of hormonal issues until I tray this brand Cadiveu. My hair got stronger. first used the detox range to clean the scalp and now use the range of açaí.

Margaret Hemenway: If you stopped dying your hair - it would grow and not break!! Bleach/dye is like the worst thing (and heat styling) My hair got so thick and healthy when I stopped doing anything to it and just let it stay natural

Amanda Lee: Hey mel! If you still want long hair but dont want to cause stress to it , you should get a hidden crown halo style extension!!! I just bought one and i love it!!! Hair is good quality and good colour. You would prob like a 14 "style or 16" im not advertising just throwing it out there! Also i tried viviscal and it made me break out :( hope it works for you!! Those gummies tho are awasome!

monis3103: In my opinion, the condition of your hair is the result of dyeing. I had similarly when for 8 years I dyed my hair for brown. Once I was forced to take a color, I automatically cut my hair shortly. Currently, once a year I make reflections and I'm good with this condition. I put away the straighteners and the curling iron (from the great way I use it), I use collagen on my hair. I hope that, like you, my hair grows, too, for a year's wedding.

phishcatt: some things that really helped me was keratin treatments, using toners or ammonia free instead of box dyes, sulfate free shampoo and cutting a centimeter off the ends every couple weeks.

ES: I blonde highlight my hair as well and it is long and in good condition. I highly recommend a few things. Put coconut oil on the ends quite a bit, night before you wash. I also use it on my body and use whats left from my hands on my hair every time. Try not to wash your hair very often. I use a very wide tooth comb to comb thr0ugh my conditioner. Also only cut it when you really really absolutely need it. My desert island product though is phyto9 leave in conditioner. Omg. Its amazing.

Lisakay Moya: Try adding coconut oil to your ends overnight before you wash it the next morning. It's very good for maintaining healthy ends. Look into it. Also you can try hot oil treatments.

Katelynn Migues: hey beautiful! If you haven’t yet, tried Maui! Or if you feel like that doesn’t work for you, aloe vera is a huge key in growing your hair! apply it like it’s coconut oil, and i promise it’s a huge success! i’ve grown my hair from my shoulders to passed my boobs in 9 months.

Jessie Lou Butterfield: If you try Macadamia Oils deep repair masque it's really good stuff! When you take a shower just shampoo and then put your conditioner or cream in your hair when you get out. Also try using the deep repair mask or just coconut oil once or twice a week under a shower cap and then blow dry the shower cap over it to make it melt into your hair then forget about it for a while. It made a huge difference for my hair! I apologize for the novel haha I really enjoy watching you Melissa! I really look forward to your videos. Thank you so much.

Desiree D: Great video!! Your eye brows look so nice! :) Try the new Briogeo Green Apple/Kale shampoo/conditioner. It really is good and like vitamins for hair. Love from Ontario!

Layla Amber: Please do an updated video! Especially about the viviscal vitamins. I have similar hair to yours. I used to have thick long hair. Then I started talking medication due to being diagnosed with epilepsy. The medication caused my hair to thin out tremendously and I loose so much hair when it’s wet. It’s my biggest insecurity and there’s nothing I could do about the hair loss because I need this medication in order to not have seizures. Using no heat in my hair and washing my scalp less harshly in the shower has definitely helped my hair a lot. I also take B6, centrum silver women’s (even tho its for 50+, I’m 20 yrs old lol), fish oil, iron, biotin, and D3. Taking these vitamins have helped with the thickness of my hair. Hope this helps! Praying that we both have the hair we used to have soon lol!

Olivia Rose: Aloe Vera, Argan Oil and Kaminomoto helps a lot as well with hair growth ♥

Holli Friesz: I also take hair vitamin and they are working amazingly.I used to straighten and wash my hair everyday so now I've stopped.I tried some of the stuff you have and they worked to but the best shampoo and conditioner is the grow long Marc Anthony stuff and a head massager after and in my shower.

mel ks: You should try shea moisture hair products! Love them & stop using heat & coloring hair completely for it to grow faster

Renee Weiss: Bleach is the enemy I stopped bleaching my hair and started to go darker and my hair feels and looks so much better good luck to you !!

Hannah Prendergast: It’s a 10 Miracle leave-in product is great! Been using it for years and it makes your hair so soft! It’s also a heat protectant. Moroccan oil treatment is my favorite too!

kompal g: This may sound weird, but the biggest suggestion i have for scalp issues would be an apple cider vinegar rinse after shampoo (you can youtube/google this for recipe). Basically, our scalp is naturally a little acidic in pH and shampoo is too basic, so the acv rinse levels out the pH. I've had dandruff my whole life (genetics) and this is really the only thing that has helped relieve that...like my scalp does not flake at all. And it also helps with general scalp health which is great for hair growth. I used to use nizoral and I found it to be quite harsh imo.

Sylvia Ghaly: I don't know if anyone has suggested this yet but you HAVE to try some hair oil treatments/masks! I use Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil and Strong Roots Red Pimento Hair Growth Oil in my scalp once a week before I wash my hair. I put both of those in my hair the night before I wash and leave it overnight. Those have really helped with keeping my new hair growing from the roots super healthy and strong and also has made my hair thicker. Also if your ends are damaged, you can use jojoba oil only on your ends. Hope this helps!

KaylaMarie: Love this! Could you do like a video on health? And the everyday pills you take for that/preworkout. Really trying to get these last 20 pounds of my baby weight off and I feel like I just need a little extra umph! Btw I love you bunches ❤️

Camilla Milla: You looked gorgeous in long hair and short hair really suits you too

Liv Inuk Oldenburg Lynge: I was on accutane which pretty much ruined my hair. I ended up cutti g it off but it was still breaking even though I was really delicate with it. I have been growing it out and it is really healthy now: 1) don’t brush it or put it up when wet. It is at its most porous state when wet. 2) buy a wooden hairbrush. The bristles help stimulate the scalp + distribute the oils from your scalp to the ends. 3) my hairdresser told me to take vitamin d (apparently hair grows more in the summer due to vitamin d). Also taking fish oil tablets help moisturize the scalp. Healthy scalp = healthy hair. 4) quite drastic but omg has helped a lot: throw out all your silicone and sulphate products and use products without. I did all the above tips for a long time, but as soon as I switched to sulphate and silicone free products my hair got so much healthier. Sulphate dries out your hair soo much and removes the oils. The silicone builds up on the hair so that everything u apply on top won’t be able to penetrate the hair. In the beginning when i switched my hair looked really dull but after a while it started looking so much better. The hair “purges” in the beginning. My favorite brands for silicone and sulphate free products are living proof and briogeo. But briogeo is my absolute fave of the two

Roro: Yesss a hair routine!!

Crystal Mendoza: I agree with the previous comment. It is great to minimize washing the hair, but it is counteractive when the scalp is full of buildup... if you just start the apple cider vinegar rinse once a month...half water half acv (that's what I do) this will get rid of that dandruff, I assure you. While the acv rinse is on your scalp and running down your strands, apply a very nourishing mask (I love sunbums hair mask) to the bottom half of your hair and let these sit while you finish showering once ready to get out rinse hair with cool water. I really hope that helps, it has worked for me bigtime.

Miss Laura: I love the Hair Skin and Nails gummies but I honestly see no difference in my hair only in my nails. My nails grow so fast and are super strong now. My hair stops growing when it's a little past my shoulders and I hate it so much. I've never used bleach before but I do color my hair often. It's just frustrating because I have thick hair but it doesn't get any longer just bigger lol.

Isabella Sophia: I’d recommend to stop using silicones and sulfates because sulfates strip your hair of oils, making it dry of course. Silicones coat every hair strand and water/moisture can’t pass through silicone, making your hair dry and because of this frizzy. But if you do decide to do this, to get rid of any buildup, you should do an Apple cider vinaigrette rinse or use a natural clarifying shampoo. I only use natural shampoo and conditioner (I recommend shea moisture) to without silicones and sulfates, it’s working great for me. Also if you do decide to do this in the future, just know since your hair is so damaged it will feel more damaged after you stop using silicones and sulfates just because the silicones basically covered the damage. But after a while your hair should grow healthier and feel better. Also use oils in our hair that are 100% organic/natural I recommend Argan oil because it’s a light oil which is good for thinner hair. :) hopefully this helps. Another quick thing I recommend watching the youtubers ‘longhairproblemsxo’ and ‘holistichabits’ (just a note if you do decide to try this i can promise it will work but i have thinned hair and I’ve been doing this and it’s so great)

megan thomas: i feel your pain. had a similar hair journey also try collagen power, and also try the olaplaex No3 for at home use.

Julia Kathryn: Girlllll. I'm obsessed with hair growth/healthy hair. Here is everything I do. 1. No heat or dye. 2. Inversion Method! My hair grows 1+ inches a month doing this. Research it! 3. OILS. Ditch the Keratin and Olaplex...just use oils 1-2 times a week overnight. 4. Limit washing to once a week if possible. 5. Use natural shampoos that don't have water as the first ingredient. I love Maple Holistics and Maui Moisture. 6. Instead of regular conditioner, I use a mask/deep conditioner called Virgin Hair Fertilizer by The Roots Naturelle. 7. Air Dry! And, try to just use your fingers to gently detangle when it is wet vs. using a comb or brush. 8. Put hair in a bun or braids at night and use a silk pillowcase. 9. Brush before washing. 10. Healthy diet, Fish Oil supplements, SugarBear Hair gummies, and a multivitamin. 11. Tons of water, exercise, and sleep! :)

Cambria Starr: I’m rewatching this video years later and if you ever see this I’m recommending you try Living Proofs Restore dry scalp treatment works wonders for a flaky scalp and it’s moisturizes the rest of the hair!

Nata Macfie: 1: sulfate free shampoo/ deep conditioner 2: hair oil: caster, jojoba, argon oil 3: eat clean 4: drink water 5 same thing as #2 but Hot oil treatment once a week 6: Wet brush/wooded brush and a good leave in conditioner 7: no more dye/ heat I have super thin hair but these steps have made a Huge difference to my hair btw love your channel your great! ❤️

tink268: Bleaching your hair is the worst thing. I once had the "brilliant idea" of going blonde. Let me tell you that I had to dye my har black in order for it to look somewhat healthy. I dont think I will ever dye my hair light ever again! xoxo

Manisha Gautam: Mam, everything you talked about is very relatable as I face the same issues right now with my dry hair after colouring it for 2-3 times eventually. But what I wanna tell you is those fairy lights on the side plant and that corner lamp is lighting for no apparent reason. Save electricity please!

Kloves3lvandcc Kelli: Olaplex just came out with shampoo and conditioner.. so I just started using it and so far I love it.. I also bleach my hair and I also treat my hair with castor oil once a week! Plenty of collagen too! I love vital proteins!! You’re on the right track hun!!

Brittany Kyle: A collagen supplement has been the only thing that’s ever helped me! I would also make sure that you’re getting a sufficient amount of calories/macronutrients every day.

Dumpling Soup: Omg it’s like you’re telling my hair journey ☹️

Miss Viking: Dear I’m in the same boat!! It’s the BLEACH. Unfortunately as long as you bleach you will never truly have long hair and even if it’s long it will be super thin. I switched to superblond hair color Igora 12.19 - it’s a one step process, and I use it with 20v developer. My hair is now super soft and lots of shine. You can use toning shampoo like purple/gray shampoo, and you will notice immediate difference. NO damage. I also am fro Europe so I mail order the oil called Elseve “for regular hair”(it’s as expensive as Kerastase), this oil will go on oily but will completely absorb in an hour. It’s NOT the same as America’s Elseve. It has 6 oils in it and I believe it’s the linseed oil that makes the most difference. Everyone that ever used it was able to grow their hair super long. Remember to order the golden label “for regular hair” (everything else won’t work, they have purple, brown, lavender and other colors and they suck because they contain alcohol).

La Croix: Viviscal works! I was dealing with a lot of fall out and it helped me so much! Also try taking powder collagen from Vital Proteins which helps with hair and skin so much and it has protein

Youtube Icin: Melissa you loook amazing. You dont need any change to be more beautiful:)

Catpuccino: "Cut off your ends! " I've heard that as well and never going to fall for that again lol Even with hair loss, after u cut your hair it does nothing to your hair loss it just looks like less hair fall because the hair strands r shorter.

Isabel E: I also wanna grow my hair longer. It was longer but then I cut it into a Bob, but now I wanna have it long again Drinking a lot water is also very important for healthy hair and I like to use Coconut Oil like a hair mask Greetings from Germany

medjouliette: I always turn on your videos and listen to you while doing stuff, your voice is just so calming and unique

Veronika Malibuu: I love your videos ❤️❤️

Tara Webb: Kerastase with a booster is a God send for hair! Expensive, but worth it.

Sara Hassan: Flaking is normal it’s the result of extra keratin treatment but it will disappear it’s not dandruff Just try to rub of hard massage your head while shampooing

Diana María Iregui Carreño: Melissa coconut oil works for me !!! love your videos and God bless you

Gabriela del Sol Pastor: Hello! one tip that I suggest is that you change your products to natural products. Natural products don't have harsh chemicals, salt, nor bad alcohols that contribute to the damaging of the natural keratin of the hair. The innate life and Calia natural are two natural shampoo and conditioner lines. Also, see using essential oil treatments for hair thickening and strengthening. Another line that is very recognized by helping thin hair get fuller is the Morroco Method shampoos and conditioners. They also have a lunar chart in which it tells you when to cut your hair so it grows stronger and fuller. it doesn't hurt to try. If you want to see results of these products you can see them in the youtubers Holistichabits and longhairproblemsxo. One last thing, you need to identify the porosity of your hair so you can use the correct methods to hydrate and moisturize your hair, and know when your hair needs protein or when it need moisture. or if you are sensitive to protein, which causes brittle and dry hair.

Ashley Caplette: Monate hair products helped my hair grow:) Also Doterra supplements:)

Lpg 8: Hair dye and bleaching really hurts the scalp (if you're are a hair abuser like me). If you've ever dyed your hair and not used gloves, you will notice that the dye feels like powdered glass on your hands, now imagine what it does to the scalp. That being said, wash your hair, put deep conditioner on it and cover with plastic cap, live it on while you finish your shower, do this every time you wash and hair will get better faster. Also, good vitamins that help with growth and stop hair fall are brand New Chapter One Daily, I swear by these.

Kelly Cooks: I have fine thin hair that also “stopped” growing but in reality it’s breakage. I let my hair get tangled and instead of slowly untangling I’d just brush it and my kids love to play with hair and they are not gentle. I trimmed about two inches and i am using coconut oil or other hair oils on my ends and comb gently. I don’t dye or use heating tools so it’s purely just rough treatment

Inez Neal: No keratin either just wash and condition 2- 3 times, microfiber hair towel, satin pillows,no heat, vrushinh techniques and no hair bands.

Sammy Kay: Your hair can get healthier faster by using hair products that don't contain things like sulfate silicones and parabens because silicones and stuff coat your hair and just sit on your hair. My hair was really damaged for a while and when I switched to more natural shampoos especially ones without sulfate my hair changed ALOT. Just because the products say they fix damaged hair or anything like that sadly they don't always have good ingredients usually it makes your hair feel good at first but in the long run makes it worse and usually super dry!

Wendy Ramlogan: I take Vital Proteins collagen about 4 times a week and I apply a coconut/castor oil treatment to my scalp/hair once a week. I colour my hair at home using Ion hair colour (from Sallys) every 2 months. I do not use any heat on my hair. I use Briogeo and Shea Moisture shampoo/conditioner and a Wet Brush is a must. I do not use any other products. I used to get Keratin treatments twice a year but stopped last year bc it irritated my scalp. I cut my hair into a bob on Dec 20, 2017 and I am growing my hair to see how much it will grow by the end of 2018. So far my hair has grown 7 inches. I am documenting my hair journey as my friends/family are also curious to see how fast I can grow my hair. Good luck to you with your hair journey

K Cat: try the scalp treatment from the innate life, they have one for a problematic scalp and one for a normal scalp, I just used it the other day and i'm sooooo silky rn, they're Canadian and have loads of great videos too! ps I think your hair is lovely

BresLife Mesa: Use Mane n tail shampoo conditioner use vitamins like biotin or a prental gummies ,eat healthy drink lots of water :)

Jacen Starheart: I think your hair Perfect, Luxurious, Healthy and Vibrant, Very Appealing, Cheers!

Cristina Q: I gotta try this!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Susan Lunsford: Hair grow from the inside out. Hair loves protein so up your intake of it.

Cris & Mel: I had the same length and bleached my hair so much about 2 years ago - I started doing aloe vera treatments with castor oil once a week and used the Marc Anthony Grow Long shampoo and mask every time I washed my hair (only twice a week) - HOLY GRAIL! Please try it, you won't regret it. You'll see a huge difference in the speed of your hair growth.

satusatusatu: Girl! Off topic but your brows are goals❤️

Lysette Loreto: I heard rice water, intervention method and collagen powder works for hair growth❤❤❤

Brittany Bailey: Melissa try the verb ghost shampoo and redken anti snap! I also take hair skin and nail gummy’s. when I say my hair never grew I mean it!! My hair was the same length for 6 years and since using these products (I wanted it to grow for my wedding) my hair is so long and healthy!!! The anti snap stops the hair from breaking and the vitamins speeds up the growth

Jazz H: I use to be platinum blonde for years it started eating up my hair so I went cold Turkey and dyed it brown and haven't colored it for 14 months already also chopped it off to a Bob it's still a Bob cause I'm trying to get it one length I feel like going to a salon and dying it but I promised myself to not dye it for 2 years my favorite product so far is the redken extreme line also living proof hair mask

Sara Df: I have the same type of thin hair , it all started because of bleach! I stopped bleaching about a year it was a huge change and then back with bleach my hair fell out again , now it looks exactly like yours ..

Monika Kubatova: Ciao Melissa, for healthy scalp its important to blow dry your hair. My hairdresser says if you don´t blow dry your hair, its like leave wet towel in your fitness bag;-)

Manifesting Monica: Hay girl! You should try Inebrya Ice Cream No-Yellow Shampoo. You can get it at shoppers! And I swear it is Fanola just repackaged. It smells the same and has the same deep purple colour ;)

Ameera Abdullah: You have to use coconut oil and caster oil to grow your hair

The essentialist girl: I have the same struggle with my hair. Hope I can have success too

Claire Marie: Before I even got to the end of your video I was gonna suggest checking your hormones and especially your adrenal levels. I also have adrenal fatigue and I had the same thin short broken hair and it wasn’t even bleached. I saw a naturopath in Brentwood/Burnaby and she gave me the Thorne brand of pharma gaba and its on Amazon prime. I take the 250mg and its life changing. I also don’t get a period and my hair never grew either until I started taking that. I also use a lush shampoo called fairly graded honey and a conditioner from them called American cream and I only wash my hair once a week now and the big bottle will last me a year. Their “damaged” hair mask is also amazing! Let me know if it work for you or if you try these things!

Hannah Grace: My hair isn’t damaged like that it’s pretty frizzy and the hairs at the top of my head are teared so they stick up and the sides are a bit too so I need suggestions on what to use because I’ve tried so many products if you have any methods or products you use for your hair for this problem let me know I’m really insecure about it even tho it’s not like this I just want silky hair and for it to grow longer quicker I’ve only put highlights in my hair and temporary red hair dye and that’s it but it probably was mostly from the highlights so I just need to fix the top of my head and the rest where it’s needed

Nelly Gustafsson: Something you can try is to massage you scalp with slightly heated coconut oil mixed with castor oil, after a 2 - 5 minute scalp massage leave it in your hair as a mask for 20 minutes and wash it out with shampoo and conditioner like normal. If your hair is a bit more fine I recommend you do this every second week. After you´ve finished your current vitamins I can recommend you to try sugarbearhair, I´m growing out my hair too at the moment and for me they are working really well in combo with my haircare routine :)

cs410627: I love your makeup in this video!! What blush are you using?

Ashley Harger: Skincare routine please!!

Nicole Tremblay: Great video
