Hey guys welcome back to my channel or welcome if you are new here, i hope everyone's having a great day today and if not, i hope this video takes your mind off of whatever is not making you have a great day, but even better. I hope i make you smile or laugh at least once that's my goal. Okay, so we're going to be talking all about frizzy hair in today's video. I did get a request recently to share some of my favorite products for managing frizz, but i thought per usual with me. You won't be surprised. We should take it 12 steps further and really dive into frizz as a hair topic in total. So in this video i will not only be sharing some of my favorite products for preventing and managing frizz. I'M also going to be talking all about what actually causes frizz and how to fix it aside from just product itself. So if you have very frizzy hair, especially this time of year, where i don't know about you guys and where you live, but we are in prime swamp season here in minnesota. I feel like people underestimate the humidity and nastiness of minnesota in the summertime, because it's so cold here for the majority of the year. But honestly we will have weeks in a row where it's over 90 degrees and over 85 humidity, it's disgusting. So i pretty much. Don'T go outside here once it hits like 85 86 degrees. I'M out. I tap out at this point so perfect timing to talk all about frizz if you guys need some help in that department. Like i know i definitely have in the past when i didn't really know about this topic. You'Ve come to the right spot. We'Re gon na jump right into that before we do. If you're new here, don't forget to give this video a thumbs up subscribe to my channel and click on that notification. Bell also drop a comment below letting me know what you do for frizz right now and then maybe at the end of the video you can. Let me know if anything's gon na change after watching this. Thank you so much for doing all those things. It really really helps me out with the youtube algorithm, so i appreciate you so much instagram and tech talk handles are right here, lightroom preset filters for editing, instagram photos are listed in my description box below, along with merch discount codes, links, timestamps and anything else. You may need from me alright, let's jump into it all right, let's start off by talking about what actually causes frizzy hair in the first place, i think a lot of people assume that it's just up to the humidity in the environment. Well, yes, that's absolutely! A major factor: it's not the only factor and there's a lot of other common causes that i think people don't realize so, for the most part, the things that cause frizzy hair are the same things that cause damaged hair, and these are things that i've talked about. A lot on my channel before i actually have an entire video talking all about hair damage and breakage. So i will list that below and of course, i'm not going to repeat every single thing in this video, because i've already done that i'll spare you guys, but we will talk through the top five most important things for frizzy hair in this video. So, let's just start off with the most obvious that it's obvious at first but there's a less obvious element to it, and that is humidity. So, of course, the humidity outside affects our hair and makes it frizzier, but it's not just the humidity in the environment. It'S also humidity inside in our shower from our shower steam. To be specific, so i feel like that's something that's often overlooked, even though it's a really huge cause of frizzy hair as well just as much so as the humidity outside cause. Number two is exposing our hair to high ph levels, so this could be through using high ph hair care products or through water that comes out of the shower head as well, so the shower is just bad culprit all around this could definitely be even more so Problematic for you, if you live somewhere with really hard water, like the city like myself, it's tragic cause. Number three is using detergent based shampoos too frequently. So detergents include surfactant ingredients like sodium lauryl, sulfate, sodium lauret, sulfate ammonium sulfates and sodium olefin sulfonate, there's others as well, but those are definitely some of the more common ones. These ingredients are amazing at removing sebum from the scalp removing product buildup and just really providing the scalp and the hair with a proper cleanse, but they can be rougher on the hair because most of them have an alkaline or a high ph. So not only is that not good for the health of the hair, but that also contributes to frizz as well. I do want to make sure that i'm saying that it's not just the presence of that ingredient on a label that indicates the ph level of the product. So if you see, let's say sodium laureth sulfate in a shampoo that doesn't automatically mean that that shampoo has a high ph, because ingredients can be added to that shampoo to help to lower the ph but brands. Don'T always do that. Cause number four is really more. So specific to extra wavy, curly and coily hair types, because, let's be real y'all, do not have it made out easy for you when it comes to dealing with frizz. Those hair types are definitely more susceptible to frizz than other straighter hair types. This is something that i am sure almost all of you with curly to coily, hair already know, and you'll probably laugh when i say this because it's like yeah duh but in case you're, just getting into hair care. You really don't know a lot about caring for that hair type, yet brushing curly to coily or extra wavy hair when dry is essentially begging for frizz. The reason for that is that, in order to actually brush through a curler coil, you have to increase the force to that comber brush that you're using to actually work all the way through the ends and that's going to just make the hair more unmanageable. When you're really having to yank through versus, if you have straighter hair - and you can just glide the brush right through you - don't have to apply nearly as much pressure unless you have severely tangly hair like myself, then you know it's not that easy, but that is Really why that causes frizz and cause number five is that your hair is not being properly conditioned. A lot of people will refer to this as dry hair and say that dry hair is a cause of frizz, but really it's the fact that you don't have adequate conditioning ingredients and or products, not a lack of moisture or water. Okay. So now that we know everything that causes frizz, let's talk about how to actually address those causes and either prevent or manage them one by one in the order that we went through them, because you know i'm that kind of girl, okay, so tip number one. How do we deal with humidity? There are definitely certain products that you can use to leave in the hair that will help to prevent the hair from frizzing up when you're outside in really humid weather, but there's also only so much that we can do in those situations. So what i would say is address the humidity in your shower first. This really has helped my hair a lot ever since i started focusing on this. So what i would do is use some sort of towel or shower cap to protect your hair from the humidity in the shower whenever you're not washing it. So for me, i'm body showering six out of the seven days a week. Well, i body shower every day, but i wash my hair on the seventh day, so i'm wearing one of these every single time i body shower now. This right here is a t-shirt towel from conair, it's so affordable and i'm obsessed with this. I also use this to help to absorb the water from my hair after i wash it, but this is something that you could wrap around your hair that will protect it. This is a microfiber towel from kitsch that is so gorgeously soft, oh my gosh. I love it so much that's another option or if you have a plastic shower cap that works great too, all right tip number two: how do we manage exposure to high ph levels? So what i would say here is focus on your hair care products and using low ph or ph balance, shampoos and conditioners and don't freak out too much about the water. That'S coming out of your shower head because there's really not a lot that we can do a lot of you guys. I'M sure already know that i am a huge advocate for using shower filters. That'S because that's going to help to filter out harmful chemicals and minerals like chlorine and things that really damage the hair, but that's not going to lower the ph of the water. That'S coming out of the filter. I have seen claims for ph adjusting filters out there, but everything that i have seen says that it will increase the ph of the water coming out and making it alkaline, which is not what's best for the hair. So if any of you have happened to find a filter that actually says it will lower the ph, let me know i 100 will try that otherwise, i'm going to list the one that i use below that at the very least, is filtering out harmful chemicals. So again, what i focus on is using ph, balanced or low, ph shampoos and conditioners. This is also something that i have an entire video on. So again i will spare you, i'm not going to repeat everything here i'll list that below, if you haven't seen that yet, but some of my all-time favorite ph balanced hair care sets include amica the cure, redken acidic, bonding, concentrate and pureology strength care. I love all of these, it's difficult for me to decide between them, but if you guys would like me to post a video where i rank some of my holy grail, shampoo and conditioner sets and kind of really dive into the differences between them. Let me know i would 100 be down for that all right tip number three. In order to minimize the frizz inducing effects of some detergent based shampoos, what i would recommend doing is just using those once a week or less as needed to really remove product buildup or give the scalp a proper cleanse. If you feel like it's been a while, if you are able to, of course, if you have a scalp condition where you feel that is the only kind of shampoo that gives you a proper cleanse and helps to manage that condition, then by all means do that You have to do what's best for your scalp and your hair, i'm not here to tell you to do otherwise, but if you don't feel that you need those types of shampoos that often i would definitely recommend considering using them once a week or less than that, And then, on days, when you're, washing your hair, when you're not using those kinds of shampoos, opt for detergent free options or you could use a co-wash as well. So my current favorite co-wash is the hair story co-wash? Yes, i actually don't even know if they call this a co-wash, but that's definitely what it is. So it's called their new wash. They have three different kinds and i will definitely be doing a video on this because spoiler, i have been using this behind the scenes for weeks. I'Ve been having to give it a fair, a fair assessment: fair try by itself so stay tuned. If you want to hear my thoughts on the differences between them and really how it works in place of a regular shampoo, it's a whole story, but if you're looking for a good co-wash for those kinds of days, i do think that it's really great great ingredients And they also have low ph levels. Yes, all right tip number four is again for wavy to curly to coily hair. It is to avoid dry brushing as much as you possibly can and instead take advantage of when your hair is wet after you have washed it to really work through any tangles and brush or comb through it. The reason for this is kind of opposite of what we are saying when you're dry combing, when your hair is wet, that helps to actually kind of uncurl the fibers to a degree and decrease the fiber curvature. If you will - and so it makes it easier to comb through, you, don't have to apply as much force that is going to help so that the hair is not becoming unmanageable as a result. But if you feel that your hair is just unbearably tangly, you need to kind of brush it throughout the week. If you're, not washing your hair. That often, then, what i would recommend doing is spraying some sort of conditioning mist on the hair before you brush. In order to just dampen it a little bit so two that i am obsessed with right now are actually both from ag hair care. The first is their conditioning mist, detangling spray. It has moisture on the front, i don't know if they have more than one kind of this, but that's the one and their ag hair care, coco, nut milk conditioning spray with natural on the front. I love both of these. I think they're, amazing, great ingredients. This one is a little bit lighter weight kind of closer to a watery consistency. This one, while it still is something that i would consider to be lightweight, is just slightly more creamy for a spray. So both are incredible, and that is something that you can do to help to work through those curls and not have to apply as much force to the brush as you would without. Okay, tip number five is to make sure that you are properly conditioning the hair not only with conditioner and hair masks on wash day, but also on non-wash days or after you get out of the shower, with leave-in conditioners, serums and oils. I have personally found that incorporating a pre-shampoo oil treatment to my hair, where i just douse the ends of my hair and oils, has made a huge difference in my frizz levels and i would say, like my frizz, to smooth hair ratio, my hair has become so Much smoother and softer and shinier ever since, incorporating those pre-shampoo oil treatments, whereas before she was much frizzier after a shampoo, so i have definitely shared favorites for oil treatments before i actually recently posted a video with my top five favorite hair oils from the drugstore. So i would definitely recommend checking that out. If you were looking for affordable options, i will have that listed below, but an oil that, i think, is incredible that i love to use also throughout the week that helps to protect from uv and heat and also just detangles and really manages for as well. Is the bumble and bumble hairdresser's, invisible oil, so so good, not too greasy not too heavy, but really helps to just delete any frizz that you may have, but if you feel like oils like that, just don't really agree with your hair type. Maybe you have resistant hair which is low porosity. Maybe you have really fine thin hair, then what i would recommend using is some sort of oil mist. This is going to be a much lighter weight option. That'S not going to feel as heavy in your hair and it's something that is still really going to be helpful with frizz. So my current obsession that i cannot recommend highly enough is the alterna caviar smoothing anti-frizz dry oil mist. So this has conditioning ingredients and oils in it as well, but it's in mist form. You can't even see it, probably because it's that lightweight so so so good and amazing for frizz. I have three different recommendations for leave-in conditioners that i think are amazing at helping to tame and prevent frizz, but that also provide heat protection as well. So you can use them before a blow dry before styling. Get that nice conditioning benefit, but also help with the frizz, which is what this video is all about. So these all have different formulas and consistencies, which is why i wanted to give you guys options. First is the pureology smooth perfection, heat protectant, smoothing lotion, a lighter weight serum, so so so nice really works well for me with frizz. But if you have very thick coarse hair, then this may not be heavy duty enough, and then i have a couple thicker options that i think will be better taking it up a notch in the thickness department is the briogeo farewell frizz blow dry perfection and heat Protectant cream, so another that i think, is great at helping to manage frizz, but it's just a little bit thicker and creamier than that pureology option. But if that feels like it's just not even going to be enough for you, you need even more then something that i have been loving lately is also from alterna. It'S the replenishing, moisture cc cream. This works wonders on my hair. It is amazing - and it has a really nice thick creamy, rich formulation - that, for me, is not too much. It doesn't weigh down my hair, if i make sure not to go overboard with product, but is going to be great for those of you that do have really coarse hair that gets extra frizzy that need that serious, taming and then the last product. I wanted to recommend is a pomade. You can absolutely use pomades or thicker kind of waxes and styling balms to help to really tame down the frizz around the face like if you're not wanting to put oils up here on top of the scalp. Something that i love to do is just take a tiny bit of a pomade like this and that really helps to smooth it down. So this is the way matte pomade, it's my first, that's not a word current favorite pomade. There we go. I think it's so good and smells delicious way. Hair care products are unreal, they smell so good and it it works great and it doesn't leave my hair looking greasy or dirty. It doesn't look like. I have gunk in my hair, which definitely has happened to me before with other pomades, so that's one that i would highly recommend and to wrap up. I have a couple quick final tips to send you home with. These are both tips that i've talked about a lot before in terms of helping to prevent damage, but they're also going to help to prevent frizz as well. So the first is avoiding drying the hair. With a cotton towel rubbing a hair between a cotton towel is not only begging for breakage, it's also begging for frizz. So instead i would recommend using a microfiber towel to dry your hair or something like that. Conair t-shirt towel, which is great at absorbing excess water and also the pillowcase. A cotton pillowcase can definitely make the hair frizzier. I know for me that has seriously improved ever since i switched to a satin pillow case, so i will list my satin pillow case below, along with all of these products, of course, but that is something that really does help my hair. When i wake up in the morning, but with that, we have made it to the end of this video, so i hope you are feeling better about your frizz situation and that you feel, like you, have a better handle on how to deal with it. Really. I feel, like my tricks of the trade for dealing with frizz, for the most part, are my tricks of the trade for having healthy, hair and preventing damage. So hopefully this didn't feel too much like deja vu, because i know a lot of these tips and tricks are things that i've shared before. But i know a lot of you have been curious to know what i have to say about frizz. So that's what i have to say. I hope it helped. Let me know in the comments below, if you're going to try out any of these tips. If you're going to test out any of these products, every single thing will be listed in my description box below in order of mention so that it's easy and organized for you to find. If you enjoyed this video and would like to see more content like this from me, let me know what kind of content that is, first of all in the comments, but, second of all, don't forget to give this video a thumbs up subscribe to my channel. My next video will be up in a few days, so stay tuned for that. But until then i hope you have a great few days.

Darris Nelson: It’s so interesting to hear people talk about “pH balance“ hair products again. As a Child in the 60s and 70s my mom brought home a gallon of shampoo that was highly concentrated. A gallon lasted my family of four females and one male for well over a year. My mom had Color treated, graying hair, my youngest sister extremely wavy hair, middle sister curly hair, and I had a long wavy hair. The pH balanced shampoo we used worked well on all of our hair types. Today, several decades later, I use Ethique anti-frizz bar and conditioning bar. Before I get in the shower and wash my hair I coat the ends of my waist length hair with argan oil before shampooing. After rinsing, I wrap my hair in a microfiber towel to remove excess moisture. I then add a few drops of Argan oil again to the ends of my hair and a couple drops of Chia oil. I then apply (just started using) Redken acidic perfecting concentrate and comb through with a very wide tooth comb. Sometimes I let it air dry other times I blow dry my hair. To combat frizz after my hair is dry I use 100% plant derived squalane. I use it throughout the week to keep the frizz down. I live on the California coast two blocks from the ocean so there is plenty of moisture in the air. If you care about the environment and you don’t want cabinets full of plastic and all the wasted dollars that is products consume, keep it simple. I wholeheartedly embrace using a chlorine filter on the showerhead… It truly is a game changer!❤️

Julie Marie: If you still have frizzy hair no matter the external factors. There’s a really high chance you have  curly hair. :)

Lee Ann Lowery: I don’t have a problem with frizzy hair; quite the opposite. But I knew I would still learn some good things from your video and I did! Your ability to present detailed, researched information in a concise, understandable and entertaining way is amazing. You do your homework and it shows. Beautiful, brainy and funny! Keep it up!!

Sofia Roman: I had no idea about the PH balance.. interesting! I had always 'battled' my frizzy, unruly hair until I discovered my hair is actually wavy and a lot of the frizz were waves trying to form. I started following many of the curly hair advice mentioned here and although there's still some frizz its mixed in with the waves so its looking more how its ment to. Always looking for improvement so ill def try some tips!

Char: I would say brushing through curly hair the cause of the frizz is not the tension and force because you can gently very slowly brush it out. It's the fact you are separating the curl pattern and the volume of hair increases so the hairs won't sit with eachother but all separated.

Asma BS: Thank you Abbey for this video! Great content as usual ☺️ I used to have wavy hair with some curls but now my hair just loses all the curls once just few hours after showering no matter what I use, and it turns into a big ball of frizz. I’ll try to use some of the products you mentioned and I hope they work for me If you can make more videos about wavy/curly hair and different hair types that would be very helpful!

Christina Munson: I really like Aquage Silkening Oil Foam - definitely helps with frizz. I also mainly use deep conditioner when I condition. I recently started using Amika Flash Mask after regular conditioner and that helps as well. I'm currently on vacation in Florida and just putting my hair back in a ponytail. Leaving it down while walking around all day in humidity and rain, yeah, good hair days not happening at all.

S Miah: I recently switched from my regular hair towel to a microfibre one and I haven't noticed much difference in frizz if any at all. Doesn't dry my hair any quicker either. only benefit is it feels WAY lighter on my head than a regular towel. I wonder if the t shirt towel would be worth it for me

Madison Riebe: I was watching this just for the hell of it for hair care and you started talking about how nasty it gets in the summer and me also being from MN, after you said that I was like OH she gets it!! It's a nightmare here in the summer lol. Thank you for your help!

Jasmine Faber: I started using a shower cap about 3 months ago, love it! Also got a water filter today for my shower head!!

Julia G.: Been bleaching my fine, board straight hair for 20 years. Live in the same climate. Never had a problem with frizz using conditioner and leave-ins. Now in the last few years nothing I do gets rid of frizz. Its like I’ve developed wavy hair properties without any of the benefits.

Danielle Moore: Girlll yes! I live in Alaska but am from Northern MN way up by the border. The summers were horrible with humidity and freezing in the winter. Way worse than here in Anchorage Alaska!! I would love love love to see a best of your favorites comparison, although at this point....I mostly own them all per your educational and awesome hair care content! Much love from AK-Danielle❤❤❤❤

Laura Jennings: Interested to hear your opinion on new wash, I used the deep version for a couple months and love it but do feel it can build up on the hair if not rinsed out properly!

Ashleigh Townsend: Hi! I hope you still read these comments.... I just watched your "Week long hair vlog" from June 1st, very informative content, and just wanted to mention something, I'm not sure whether someone has mentioned before....Wearing your hair down during a workout is also adding extra damage to your ends. Firstly, the friction of the strands against themselves from the movement while you run/move; secondly, the wind adds to this friction as well; and thirdly, sweat is very drying to your ends. So, by wearing your hair in a style that allows the hair to move freely (and come into contact with sweat), it aggravates the knotting and drying of your hair, this was seen and mentioned by you in that video. Personally, when I run, my go to style is a topknot (I gather the hair on top of my head, pull through into a half-bun and twist the remaining hair around the half-bun and tuck into the scrunchie), after my run is complete I will take it out of this style as I, too, don't like keeping my hair tied up for too long. My hair is a bit longer than yours and of similar density and texture and this is the only style (other than a braid) that keeps my hair secure for the entirety of my workout whilst protecting my hair and, surprisingly, the style. Also, on a side note, you should research how allowing your hair to get greasy affects your scalp health. The grease that collects throughout your week of not washing contains a lot more dirt than you might realize (sweat, natural sebum, product/dry shampoo buildup, environmental pollution, dust or anything that could be in your bed). All of these can actually block the pores on your scalp and affect the health thereof. Just compare your scalp to your facial skin, would you just apply a drying powder to your face when it gets too oily? This buildup, and blocking of the follicles, can actually increase the fallout of hair and stunt growth, even if it is just for a week. A general rule of thumb is to listen to your hair and wash it when it gets greasy, for me that takes around 5 days. Many people consider washing your hair too often to be damaging or drying, when in actual fact, if you use the right products, it can be beneficial. Many products contain nutrients that feed the hair and scalp. Hair health is very dependent on your diet - hair and nails are the last areas that your body provides nutrients to, as these are seen to be the least important of your body; if you don't eat enough of the required nutrients (such as protein and iron, etc.), there is none/ too little left to actually be used for your hair and nails. That is why these products/ingredients exist for hair - to try and add these back into the hair.

Michelle Jacobi: I often end up with my hair in a ponytail. Would you recommend something like the pomade you shared to calm the frizz that occurs in the part that’s pulled back (around my face/sides/top of head)?

Courtney Sims: Great video! Iv got 2c-3a curls and friz is a constant struggle Would love a video on best wash sets like you said

Michelle Dillman: The satin pillow case also helps with the “ life experience” lines!

Alexis Bagale: Have to say I love your videos and they have been a godsend because I also have super dense, fine, tangle prone hair. This one is also helpful because I am in Michigan, and people don’t realize we get really humid in the summer too. (But I was in Minneapolis three summers ago and holy cow, it even blew me away with how very very hot and humid it was!)

L.T. Loa: I actually love humidity. It turns my 2C curl into a much livelier 3B curl. It never looked better than when I lived in Houston, Texas.

Mariana Hernaez Colque: I love how informative your videos are. They are very useful and I learn a lot from them!

Gabriella Visconti: You’re so thorough! Thanks for the tips

Dana Barr: My daughter just introduced me to your channel and I loved this video. I’d definitely love a shampoo/conditioner and mask ranking video!

cutebubbles2007: Us curly girls also use a satin bonnet when going to bed. I use that instead of the satin pillowcases for $$ reasons. My hair is fine and tangly and it has helped me greatly into avoiding bad tangles or matted hair.

Rebecca Hower: Love your content. Can you PLEASE talk about Brazilian blowouts? I have terribly frizzy, curly hair. I have gotten blowouts for years which help temporarily, but I’m concerned that they have hurt my hair overall. Would love to see what your research would say.

Rachel Tuten: Here in SC The heat index was 110 just a few days ago my hair is naturally wavy and I get a lot of frizz ‍♀️ but I feel when I use creams it’s weighs my hair down and the natural wave and oils don’t help as much

BookZealots: something I didn't hear you mention is that hormones also cause frizzy hair. My hair used to be stick straight, would lose a curl in 30 minutes, and then after a pregnancy, BAM! Frizzy hair. It had nothing to do with hard water, shampoo, conditioner, pillowcases, or humidity.

Alison Robina Ramos: I have naturally curly hair, and I live in Austin where’s its very humid. I avoid products with glycerin-which is really hard to do, it’s in everything. I also do a gel cast to air dry so that it seals out humidify. I then scrunch out the cast when it’s dry. I get way less frizz with the gel cast method.

Isabel Murphy: So excited to see the hair story video! I have used it in the past and loved it!

tahiya tx: would love a all drugstore version!

Sabeena Karki: Would love to see a video about after and before wash oil and leave conditioners only. ❤️

Emmers1983: Another awesome video full of great info! Thank you, Abbey!

Belinda Marie: Wow! That was so much great hair info you shared..and great product recommendations too. Thank you so much! I'm very informed and ready now. :)

natalie kim: yes please make a haircare ranking video of the holy grails! maybe for each “step” in a routine so we know what u consider to be the best of the best!

Jasmine Vignati: Abbey! My hair is very similar to yours! What are your "if I had to choose one" shampoo, conditioner, mask, oil, leave in spray (heat protectant, detangler, etc) and style product - like full routine??? :) Thanks! Love you, you're saving my hair!!! <3

Kimberly Jeanette: Great video!! Would love a ranking of your top 3 shampoo/conditioners! ‍♀️

None OfURbusiness: I am overwhelmed w/ different products: how often, which ones. Having frizzy hair is new for me.

Sassybanjo: I have naturally curly hair (for 61 years) and have never been able to manage frizz…until I got the Smooth Booster from Beauty Pie. I swear by it. Their Volume Booster makes me look like I have more hair but doesn’t dry out or cause heaviness, stiffness or stickiness. Both Boosters make my hair feel like I applied nothing to it. I even use them together.

JLeigh: I've avoided anything promising silk or shine because I'm the person whose hair falls FLAT. I'm talking forehead hugging flat. As it turns out, I think that has been hair health all along. You are my hair health advisor.

Angie Danis: I have fine wavy color treated hair & live in Houston, Texas. Home of humidity. lol I use Briogeo Fairwell Frizz for my blow dry & heat protectant cream. . Love it ❤️ Thanks for the video. I find your video's to be so informative.

noreen gardner: I’m loving all the Hair Story products too! They have completely changed my hair! Thank you for the great video!

Courtney Sims: Also would love a video on protein moisture balance! I cant figure it out i think its causing alot of my hair breakage and in turn causing friz lol

Gail Hyde: Your research is amazing!! Thank you for another great video. Yes please a video on your favorites!

Go go: My favorite frizz stopper is Vital Earth “Fulvic Mineral Mist.” Love this stuff. It is for hair and skin.

Ava B: You are so friendly! We need more content creators like you

Pamela Wooten: Thanks for the tips. I use It's a Ten hair mask once a week and I only wash my hair 3 times per week. I also use Olaplex Bond No. 6 smoothing cream on my wet hair before I blow dry.

tjodine: Yes please rank your holy grail shampoo and conditioner sets!

scot60: My hair was always coarse. My mom called it horse mane hair. I’m 60 now and my wiry coarse hair is now on steroids because gray hair is even more coarse and wiry. I live in a humid area. Any help is needed

Lupe Rodriguez: Thank you for mentioning curly, coily, and wavy hair types. I hardly see anyone talk about us

Nicole P: This is very helpful. Thank you for the recommendations too!

gigi garzuly: My frizzy hair LOVES humidity. It freaks out in a dry environment.

Mary: Great video. YOUR CHANNEL HAS DEFINITELY BECOME MY GO TO FOR HAIR & IT INSPIRED MY HAIR JOURNEY!

Tamara Pace: I smooth a well wrung out micro fiber face cloth and smooth it over frizz. Not enough moisture to change style but the smoothing affect works for me.

Suzie Althens: Thanks Abbey! You always make me smile. Love watching and listening to you.

Lisa F: I would *love* a video where you compare your favorite shampoo and conditioner pairs and the differences in them!

Lisa Spence: Hi I moved here to Texas 2 years ago and my hair is constantly in a bun because if this heat and humidity!!! I definitely need this video!

Curlycurl Birdy girl: Excellent content I'd like to add few things re shampooing, conditioning and brushing, which proved to work for me and may help somebody else Shampoos - there are good shampoos out there without any sulfate... ingredients, doing an excellent job of cleansing the scalp (because that is what shampoos do). Even deep cleansing and chelating shampoos can have no sulfate... ingredients. I.e. sulfates are not required for a proper cleanse. Conditioners - do a deep moisturizing conditioner every now and again (how often depending on level of damage). If consistent it'll make wonders for the hair over time, including frizz management. Brushing - you should never ever yank the brush. Start from the ends and work your way up. When wet, brush your hair only when you have the conditioner in, not wet before shampooing, not wet after shampooing and before conditioner but wet after shampooing and applying conditioner, before rinsing it out. Extra tip - look for humidity blocking styling products

BabiiGurlMikii: Can you please talk about best shampoo/conditioner/treatment/oil/protectant that is silicone free for frizzy hair? It’s so hard to find, everything has silicone in it :(

Brittany Timiney: Hi! I’m new here yes yes yes to a Holy Grail video. Also do you only use wet brushes, or do you have a certain type of comb you would recommend for wavy hair? Thanks!

Janet Mead: How do you feel about keratin treatments to combat frizz?

Magdelena: your videos never disappoint!

Itsmarilyn: Thanks soooo much for breaking this video down in a digestive way

Public Service Announcement: Get a showerhead with a filter! The hair products never seem to work the same as they do at the salon because they use water filters! Apple Cider Vinegar is high pH but can smooth the hair cuticle if used diluted after shampoo and conditioner. Chlorine in a lot of water is alkaline. People use baking soda to wash their hair because it lifts the crap from the cuticle of the hair but if it doesn't have ACV to close the cuticle then it could damage hair from the extreme pH difference. Chlorine is the same. Our hair needs something more acidic to balance the pH, close the cuticle and it gives hair SHINE.

Steven Back: I would love to hear your thoughts on Asian haircare products.

Lilliana Serrano: Hello Abby, I live in Florida lits of humidity, my hair gets so frizzy very curly, it does not like oops, Qual can be an option, wonderful information great video, thanks beautiful!

Emily George: Such a insightful and informative video, ty!

Mary Grise: Love the video and information. Could you please do products that are not so expensive?

icecastles7: Thanks for this video!!!!!❤️ On another note, 85 degrees is nice. Im in Texas where we can reach 112 in summer with humidity in the 90s

Bláthnaid x: What’s your thoughts on the Coco & Eve shampoo and conditioner? Love your videos

Zack: this is an amazing video but you should include a segment where you show how and when to use these products for the people like myself who have no idea how they work or when to use them

Maggie Paluch: Would love to see a video on the best shampoos and conditioners. Thanks!

Gerry Talley: Hi Abbey! I sell many of the products you recommend and have used your videos to learn about the products...so thanks. I was wondering if you could do a review of Ouidad products. We sell quite a bit of it but I'm not really sure why.

silvia davella: Thanks !!!❤️ I just made a natural PH balancer using equal parts of ACV and Green tea. Worked Amazing !!!

Morgan Stansell: Which lightroom app do you use for the presets? I looked on the app store, and there are a couple different apps. Thanks!

Sheena Carlisle: 85 percent humidity... Sis I'd love it we been dealing with 105 % in TN for about a week now. Counting down to fall

Parker: great video! looking forward to trying some of these out

Quintana Clemente: It probably wouldn't be beneficial to find a water filter that "lowers the ph" because water is meant to be a neutral ph and once you change the ph it's technically not JUST water its acidic water... that you'd be showering with

R Family: I would love to see you trying some of these leave-ins: before, application, after, and at the end of the day

Blue Coleman: Iconic queen how did you know that I needed this. I've been trying some rich, buttery products for my frizzy 3A curls but maybe I need to look at that pH instead.

Phyllis Fisher: I'd like to see a video where you go through using the products. How many do you use and when?

Amy H: Can you please do the video where you rank your shampoo and conditioners, I think that would be great

Lori Provenzano: I would love to see a video on your top shampoo and conditioners!

Sarah Rideout: I would love to hear your thoughts and experience with Hair Story’s New Wash

Mariah Muraski: I would LOVE to hear about your fav shampoo and conditioners! I’d watch that video 100 times

Jenny Sheets: Girl, you are just on a different level. ♡♡♡

Sherri Ann: Hi, Abbey. Can you do a review of Formula 18 Hydrating Shampoo and conditioner. It is recommended by my sister's salon as the new best thing :-) I would love to hear your thoughts!

JLeigh: I think this is your new haircut, too -- looks gorgeous!

Wendy Posten: I think frizz is sometimes simply untamed curls/waves!

Rubi Fernandez: Hi Abbey!!I have a request for a video I thought that you could make a video on how to adjust and take care of your skin as we transition into the colder weather.

Allison Carloss: I have thick and I guess you could say coil hair. I can not tame my frizziness. I have Ben using oils to try and calm it but nothing seems to work. I almost am starting to wonder if it is our well water that’s harsh on my hair. Any advice ? Thanks.

Dani Cave: Am surprised or hear that Minnesota has bad humidity. I thought it was a southern thing. Until I started watching your videos, I used braids to control my frizz. Lol. Using some of your suggestions for damaged hair, like getting a hard water filter, fixing some over protein, which I had never heard of u til watching you, and your recommendations for shampoo and conditioner. I have invested sooo much money on products that say they fight the frizz that never worked. The filter and low ph balance shampoo worked better than any of the products. Wish I had found you years ago.

ABDUL AZAD: My hair is so dry and frizzy, specially from top, (men long hair) Any treatment or product would you suggest

ChaosQueen: Ok but what about hair that's frizzy on top? I can't put oils and conditioner on the top of my head, it gets greasy. How do you deal with that???

Dilek Aygün: Yes yes yes need more of this guuuurl thank you for sharing this topic ❤️❤️

j s: very informative thank you!

Reed Berger-Fleishman: You are the best! Thank you and have a great day Abbey ❤️

Alana Henderson: Thank you much needed help. :)

Hazel Hammond: I have had thick straight hair all my life till I turned 65 and now I have some ringlets, some wavey and some straight when WET. once it drys it is very frizzy... I didn't notice it that much due to keeping my hair short it would stick out on the sides and waves but just before. covid I let it grow. and now I have no idea what to do with it. and why did this happen??? My hair has always been straight and thick I have tried a few and there to oily. I been wearing it in a bun but that keeps it wet all day. If I put it in a pony tail when it dries it sticks out....

Nevra Elisavet A: What causes sticky hair? Moisture overload?

spinfan1: Even though the pillowcases say polyester, do they feel scratch or do they actually feel like satin? Are they machine washable?

Kat K: I'll really date myself here. Anyone here old enough to remember back in the day when we got our hair "frosted" by pulling the hair through the thick, tight rubber cap with the metal hook, and then the perm? Perms to literally "damage" our poor hair, so we could then roll it on hot rollers to give us our Farrah Fawcett hair! Omgosh, it's a wonder our hair stayed on our heads at all! Those were the days, lol!
