You are beYoutiful inside and out; I love you!

The ordinary hair care has graced and disgraced my scalp for the past month and how has it been going? Is it worth the money? I started trying this on my curly locks and my oily scalp and dry ends. I tried both the shampoo and the conditioner after it launched earlier this year now i was waiting patiently for maine's by mel's to give her reaction, as well as the curly chemist and maine's by mel. Did she did an excellent job, i'm actually very interested to see. Curly chemistry or mains by mel, i would love to see their thoughts on this for curly hair and i'm kind of waiting for them before i, you know figure out. What'S going on with this cassandra, you curled, you called your your curls called your main girl now, but i couldn't just rely on her hair type and her hair texture, since mine is different, and i do tend to smooth mine out on a more regular basis, because I'M still trying to learn to accept my curls and learn to work with them instead of against them, but it's really hard. This is how it went when i first started using these, i was actually quite surprised by both textures. What i thought going into this was that i really didn't have high expectations, because i know that the ordinary is known for their basic skin care and that's kind of what i was expecting. But of course you know my mind is open. My biggest concern was that i don't want any of my hair to fall out more than it already is. I was kind of interested in how little this shampoo foamed up. Initially, it takes a little bit of work to get going and i actually started applying more and more hoping it would foam up and lather like i'm used to. But that just didn't happen. The texture is relatively lightweight and liquidy, but it doesn't foam up the way that most others do and i felt like, although it cleansed my scalp, it didn't strip it on the first application and i decided to keep using it just to see what would happen. The conditioner, on the other hand, was very interesting. It comes out of the container much thicker, but it actually has a very lightweight texture on the hair. It coats my hair strands beautifully and i almost felt like i should try using it as a hair mask. I felt that i needed to use a little bit more of the conditioner compared to other brands, just because it is such a lightweight formula, and i did use this when i was wearing my hair curly as well as styled. What i really liked about the conditioner is that it was lightweight, so it almost let my curls be bouncy and again it was kind of coating them and protecting them. But even if i applied other products like styling products, on top it didn't get gummy or gunky, which a lot of other you know, thicker, creams or conditioners, tend to do. As far as the usage of these in the actual shower goes, i actually had a really great time using them. The square bottles are a little bit unique, but still very basic. It'S kind of what i expect from the ordinary right. I really liked the squares because they were easier to fit into my shower and to prop up on my windowsill a lot of these circular bottles that i've used for shampoos and conditioners and skincare are actually kind of difficult to balance up there and i've actually had A few of my glass bottles slip off of this ledge and break, which is just a tragedy. These bottles are square simple and effective, and i really liked the dispensing on these as well. I know that some shampoo and conditioner bottles are like stored upside down and i find that most of those leak and then there are others that are stored upside right, but they're so thick that you can't like pump or squeeze them out here is my hair update Once it has dried, i really like this conditioner. I don't know how i feel about the shampoo. It definitely cleaned the hair doesn't feel overly stripped. My hair feels really lightweight my curls um they're, a little dry, but usually they are. This is really lightweight and i feel like i could use a hair serum just to get some of that kind of glow, but this isn't weighing my hair down and it's actually very soft and silky, but it's very lightweight this conditioner is awesome. I don't know how well um the shampoo really cleansed and again. This is all my natural hair i'll have to see how it is after i like blow it out and style it even more. I might try this tomorrow with like a hair, serum or an oil, but so far the conditioner far surpassed my expectations. Yeah and like look at that, like i have good curl integrity norm like my curls are already destroyed. These are half as curly as they used to be because i'm always using heat on them, but i'm really impressed by the conditioner. Here it is in natural daylight. You can almost see how it's still a little bit frizzy, but it's very lightweight, and it's like you - can almost see that it's very soft which i like without weighing it down, i could use a hair serum. You see it's kind of like a little little frizzy but, like i feel like a hair serum can do that, whereas, if i use like really thick conditioners, they just weigh down the hair, and so far this doesn't seem to do that. So i'm very, very impressed. So far so far, i found that my hair, both curly and styled, worked just fine with this shampoo and conditioner. I actually feel like the shampoo and conditioner really left the styling portion alone. I still needed to rely on heat tools and like smoothing techniques and serums, if i was going to blow out my hair, whereas if i wanted to wear it, curly like i still needed to rely on some sort of scrunching cream or a serum, especially for the Split ends or like an oil, but overall it actually worked pretty well these, for, like the first 75 of them, were great. You just flip them over and squeeze them out. I feel like because the formulas are a little bit more liquidy than a lot of other ones. This worked out perfectly and for the shampoo i didn't have a problem to the very last drop, whereas the conditioner. On the other hand, it was a little bit more difficult to use once you start to get to the bottom again. First 75 great. But as you get down to like the last 25, i really kind of had to work for it and then even open up the lid and mix a little bit of water in there for the last two to three uses just to get the conditioner out. I also really came to like the fact that they didn't have any scent or color at first. This was one of the most surprising things to me. I knew that logically going in, but i didn't realize like how much of the experience of shampooing and conditioning it kind of takes away my entire life. I always used to watch my mom put pantene pro-v in her hair and i came to associate that smell and that texture and even those colors with hair care and in my life i've always used shampoos and conditioners that were floral or scented or had fun colors. You know up until i started trying function of beauty that um dr dre recommended that had no smell and then seen hair care, which is made by some harvard dermatologists and even function of beauty. I used to make those with a whole bunch of fun colors. You know that was kind of a part of the routine or the ritual. For me, the lack of scent in these really started to grow on me after i used it a few more times and the more i think about these products, the more i realized that, if i wanted to, i could probably mix a few things in on my Own, as mentioned in the past, i've used peppermint oil to stimulate hair growth in my scalp they're, actually, medical studies that were sadly done on rats, but that proved that it works, and i wanted to grow my hair in the past, which is when i used it And i've kind of toyed with the idea of adding, maybe a couple drops of peppermint oil to either one bottle of the shampoo or conditioner to kind of make it work a little bit better. For me, during my testing, i only used these products as shampoo and conditioner, but i did of course, use other products outside of the shower eye shampoo and conditioner, my hair around, maybe once or twice a week or rarely three times a week and the shampoo bottle. Actually lasted me about two months. That being said, the conditioner ran out in about half time after about one month of use. You know my hair is longer and dry and, like naturally curly so i thought the conditioner was amazing, but i felt that i needed to use a little bit more of it because it is so lightweight as i continued using these. I realized that i was using quite a bit more of the shampoo than i should have been, because again i was expecting it to foam up and lather, which this formula really doesn't do a ton of. At the same time, i do feel like it minorly cleaned. My skin kind of cleansed it as normal, but i wouldn't consider this like a cleansing shampoo. It didn't strip my scalp, but i feel like this is more suitable for, like a day-to-day use, rather than a lot of other shampoos or conditioners that i've used and again my hair is oily. My scalp is oily. I tend to get a lot of build up, so i almost felt like this wasn't enough for me after i realized that the shampoo wasn't really supposed to foam up. I started using less of it and stopped expecting it to foam up on me. I used them. Both to the last drop and probably got a good like i don't know, 30 to 40 - washes out of the shampoo, but maybe only 15 to 20 out of the conditioner, because i used more of it. I used both of them up and the question is: will i be repurchasing for the price and the size i actually felt like? It was a really good spend of my dollar. I know that the ordinary has a jumbo size of their niacinamide serum and i almost wish they would do the same for these bottles, because i do feel that these could be a little bit bigger. Overall, i will say that the results with these were quite unexpected. I really did not love the shampoo. I felt like it kind of cleaned my scalp fine, but it wasn't phenomenal, especially someone who washes my hair once or twice a week and has an oily scalp like i'm looking for something a little more clarifying now. That being said, i would purchase it again just to mix other things into it. I think this could be a really interesting way to experiment with that old peppermint trick that a dermatologist taught me or an overall just great option for someone who doesn't have the oiliest of scalp and tends to wash more often the conditioner, on the other hand, was Phenomenal, although it's lightweight - and i felt that i needed to use a little bit more of it - i actually felt like it coated and nourished the strands of my hair. It kept them like bouncy and lightweight when they were curly, but it also lended itself really well to when i wanted to style it. You know it didn't gum up when i added other products or creams on top like a blow dry, serum or anything like that, and i absolutely love the conditioner. And although i wish they would make like a thicker hair mask for those of us who are really dry, i will definitely be repurchasing this one. So the big question: is it worth the money and like who is it actually for? Is it worth the money? I would say yes, especially for those who are looking for a fragrance free dye, free option and have maybe scalp irritations or other issues i feel like this is perfect for someone who is super sensitive, it's something that is very basic and non-irritating, like you could pair This with almost any other product that you want, even if you have a prescription like ketoconazole, prescribed by a dermatologist. You could use this in conjunction with these ordinary products and be really happy. And if you have like, i don't know the inkless caffeine serum and you didn't like it on your scalp and you want to just mix it into the shampoo as a hair, regrowth, serum or stimulating scalp thing. This shampoo seems like it's really good to do that with now. I could also see mixing the shampoo in with another shampoo that maybe is too foamy or too scented or too stripping, because i feel like the ordinary shampoo would help lighten that other one up now. I don't feel like this is for people who need major hair rehab if you're looking for you know, dry split ends fixing damage. This is not going to happen. I also feel like. If you have really straight hair, then this conditioner might not be perfect for you. If you have like a super oily greasy scalp, this shampoo might not cut it, but if you're someone who washes their hair every single day like if you're a swimmer, you need just like a light rinse, this shampoo really does fit the bill. I do feel like the ordinary did something new here, although it is basic. The other brands that this reminds me of are scene, skin and hair care, which i also love made by dermatologists they're, just a little bit more expensive and function of beauty, because it's customized and you can get it without the fragrances or dies. But i think out of all of those, the ordinary is the most affordable price and you are kind of getting the best bang for your buck now. Will i be repurchasing the conditioner? Absolutely yes shampoo! I don't know only if i'm gon na have some fun mixing. It in with things so after a month of shampoo, pooing and conditioning where has the ordinary left us, i have some ideas and a greasy scalp. If you can't already see. I also did my hair slightly differently today, so i have a little bit less volume than normal, but um i've got some thoughts, let's start out with the bad before we go to the good when it comes to the shampoo. I was not very impressed by this. I feel like it kind of washes your hair, but i didn't feel like my hair was actually super clean. It didn't weigh down my hair, it was fragrance free, which was awesome, and you know when it went on my body. I didn't even feel like it was really a body cleanser. I would say that like if you're someone who really struggles with finding fragrance-free shampoos and you feel like shampoos - are overly stripping, then this is for you. But for me again i have an oily scalp. I feel like this didn't clean my hair enough, and it just didn't do what i needed it to and even when it comes to wearing my hair curly, i just found that, like my roots are constantly getting so oily, whereas the rest of my hair, i'm always Kind of dry - and i always have an oily scalp, but i feel like this almost made it a little bit worse and that was kind of frustrating. Now i get why they call it like a body cleanser as well. You know: go ahead, rub this on your body, yada yada, but i almost like it better as like a barely efficacious body, cleanser versus a shampoo. Now, if you have a dry, scalp um, if you are someone like with super super sensitive like scalp skin, then i think this would make sense. But this was just not for me and i think that the best place that i see this in my routine is literally the potential of mixing else, something into it like an anhydrous solution or like you could use this as a base to mix in other octaves. That'S what i think i'm going to try next with this, just because for my scalp this was just a no-go. It'S like it's eight dollars, but i'm not gon na buy this again. But when it comes to the conditioner, i had some different thoughts. This behemotrimonium chloride, two percent conditioner, was actually quite shocking. This is awesome. This is awesome for my dryish curly-ish hair and it doesn't make my scalp feel too overly greasy. This was something that i felt like it helped enhance my curls but didn't leave my curls feeling weighed down. There are some like deep conditioners and even some regular conditioners that just weigh my curls down. My curls are quite curly, but they're not coily in a sense, and even though they're curly, they can be dry, and if i put something that's like too oily or too heavy on them, they actually like lose all of their volume. You can even kind of see like i did my hair a little different today but, like i, don't have as much volume but with this conditioner i feel like it doesn't weigh my hair down. It did make my hair smooth, but it wasn't overly done and i feel like if i just used this with nothing else on it. My hair was really really smooth like it was really silky, but if i really wanted to take that smoothness to the next level like when i actually style it like this, i did find that i had to use like a heat protectant product or like a curl Product, if i really wanted it to be shiny and smooth, but this was a fantastic conditioner, especially being fragrance free. I didn't have irritations or reactions to either of these, and i would definitely purchase this again. I feel like finding a good conditioner for me is really hard, because i need something that gives me a lot of moisture, but that doesn't weigh my hair down now. This was not the most moisturizing conditioner out there, but like this is a good one like i like her like she, and i could be friends, and i almost feel like this is a better conditioner for, like my hair strands versus my scalp, i almost feel like. I could use ketoconazole or something for my actual scalp or a hair growth conditioner, but so far, um i'm actually quite impressed with this, and i like it a lot. I, like it a lot, and i also feel like this - has a very different offering than what the inky list has. The inky list is very treatment, oriented where this is just kind of the basics and they're kind of underwhelming, but that's kind of what they're promising. If you really want like a curly review of like an actual hair expert means by mel, is phenomenal, she did such an amazing video. She tried products out on like her brother. She did such a great job and i think that she also didn't care for the shampoo, but i think she really liked the conditioner, but her curls are different than mine, so you know does that play into how the conditioner kind of feels for her? I almost feel like my scalp needs something very different than the rest of my hair and i'm you know i'm still trying to figure it out, but that's how these went. Let me know your thoughts on these. Have you tried them like? Did you try them during the same time that i was trying them? I want to know what you think and overall i want you to always be beautiful both inside and out. I love you and um. I can't wait to see you when my scalp is not a greasy mess. Love you guys bye. You

Cassandra Bankson: OOF here it comes bbs! A brutally honest review… And an apology to the editors that may or may not have had to work around my bikinis and pasties The ordinary shampoo – best for daily washes for someone with a sensitive scalp https://howl.me/chqqyCzpamZ The ordinary conditioner – great for curly hair as it is super lightweight! https://howl.me/chqqzkTjDBL My hair scalp circulation scrubber that I love: https://amzn.to/3OmKBHm The low flow water purifying showerhead: https://amzn.to/3O80rop Here are the other things I have been doing about my hair loss! https://youtu.be/Nw2wGdy_x1o Go check out the video that Manes By smell did on her curly hair by clicking here! https://youtu.be/F0Vr4xKoCSM

Curly Chemistry: Great review Cassandra! That behentrimonium chloride in that conditioner is bomb! I definitely have to provide an ingredient/product review on this line!

Vanna IRL: Love you Cass! I’m no hair master, but I’m very gentle when I manage my hair. When it comes to scalp stimulation and washing of dirt. I’m NGL, I cringed at your aggressiveness on scrubbing haha. I also take time to brush it out. Starting from the ends to the roots. Like all experiences, mine is personal and I don’t lose a lot of hair. Thought I’d share!

Sha Tings: Have you ever been to a curly hair salon where they show you how to work with your curls as well as cut your hair in a way that reduces frizz? That was the game-changer for me early on. I didn't even know my hair could curl I thought it was just a frizz ball until I learned and I never get anyone else to cut, treat etc my hair since except for people who specialize in my hair texture. Constantly straightening my hair in the past totally ravaged my very fine curly hair....

Kenz: My dermatologist has suggested for me to use rosemary oil for my alopecia. He has worked closely with trichologists and is very invested in the studies done comparing Rosemary oil to rogaine and they were both found to be just as effective and Rosemary was less irritating to the scalp. I make my own boiling Rosemary and water and then spraying my damp hair after washes. Keeps really well in the fridge. I’ve noticed a huge difference in the density of my hair as well as tons of baby hairs in my hairline growing back. I tried soooo much before I tried this and nothing gave me the results I anticipated.

Jenny Sheets: Oily scalp, here! I'd recommend avoiding putting conditioner near your scalp. Apply conditioner to length and ends only!! Love you, girl! ♡♡♡

Andrea Holamon: I’m not sure you’ll ever see this comment but I’ve been having hair loss issues for a few years now. I really am convinced it’s my thyroid however my labs are always completely normal. Anyway, I noticed it had gotten significantly worse especially post partum. I was discussing it with my colleague, and she noticed her hair was falling out as well. We both realized our hair loss was so much worse after we had moved to different places in town with horribly hard water. We did some googling and found shower head filters, so both of us have been using those and it’s UNREAL how much less hair is falling out in the shower now. I also more recently started taking Viviscal vitamins. I think between the two I am like a little new hair growth chia pet!! Little baby hairs everywhere. I plan to try Bondi Boost hair products next, as per the recommendation of Kevin James Bennett. Also highly recommend Ecoslay products for curly hair! Orange marmalade and rice pudding are my favorites.

Rio Henry: Your curly hair is fantastic. Go natural. It looks great on you. Some shampoos don’t foam up at all. Hate them. And don’t touch your hair so much. It breaks down your curls and makes you frizzy. I love your vlog. And we have identical hair except I’m going bald through a form of alopecia. I love this show

Elizabeth Evelyn: It's WILD to me that you got so shamed for your beautiful hair. You have the PERFECT hair texture! It's everything I ever wanted for my hair and I'm so jealous! I hope you can grow to accept it ❤️

luckyDancer100: Honestly out of all the tutorials I’ve seen, Cassandra has gotten her shampoo to lather the most! Mell had the same problem where there’s very little lather, so it’s hard to know what areas you’ve cleaned vs skipped. I have scalp dandruff so personally, I won’t be purchasing this product. But I wish shampoo companies wouldn’t demonize sulfates so much. I need some suds!

Juliana Gomes: I really believe that one day you'll look back at the videos with your hair straight and will feel like you feel when you watch your old food DIY skincare My hair health improved SO MUCH after I stopped straightening it and accepted my curls. I don't know if you realize how much more damage you do to your hair doing this regularly can bring... I hope one day you'll find in yourself the strength to go pass the trauma and see how much better you look with you natural hair. ♥️ When it starts getting healthier then, it's going to be scandalous

Kim DiMasi: Thanks for the great info, you get on your scalp pretty good with the scalp scrubber. I tell my clients who are trying to stimulate hair growth to not be too aggressive on the scalp bc you don’t want to break any of the new baby hairs that are trying to grow. I tell them to place their scrubber tool or fingers in one position and then massage, repeating that pattern all over the scalp. If that makes sense. ♥️

krystal fukin'marie: I can’t wait to hear your thoughts! I’ve been using it for just over a month and I’m over it. My hair is not impressed. It’s not the worst I’ve used, but I’ve had better results with VO5. I really wanted to like it, especially considering the price point. I hope they come out with a moisturizing or repairing line Until then I’ll be sticking with Wella Fusionplex and Alterna Caviar moisture. (I go back and forth between the two) With all that being said I will say I do like the HA scalp serum and I will be repurchasing it. I was already using HA on my scalp before they came out with one for the scalp.

Paula Ukena: Your hair is beautiful curly! I love it ! I’m a curly girl and totally understand the struggle fighting the frizz! And have you ever noticed that certain areas are not the same curl coil ? I struggle with the top of my head I have to wrap my finger around that section to make it match the other curls lol! I ended up having mine cut to shoulder length and I have a lot more body now , also putting light layers for my hair type gave me more Structure, at least for my hair texture . You are amazingly!!!!! fun !!!!! and so informative I enjoyed watching you thank you for all you do for us .

Mel Fryer: I had a hysterectomy 18 months ago and the hair loss is insane. I feel your pain with this , I’m a curly girl too. Love your videos xxx

Dee S: If I was as rough with my hair as you are Cassandra I would be mostly bald. Mine is so fragile. I’d love to be able to scrub at it like you do. I’ve had best results just giving up going with a solid shampoo and conditioner from a natural brand. And I can’t style it at all, heat melts it, tugging breaks it. And sadly this is the best it’s been. Hope you get to the bottom of the hair loss thing soon. It’s rubbish.

Flame: Cassandra: my pet peeve is people not turning off the water. Also Cassandra: leaves the shower running while doing shampoo and conditioner

Dana Anhalt: This was so helpful! I'd love to see a review of their "hair density" or caffeine serum. Thank you for always providing such fabulous content!

Sofia R.: i LOVE this duo. I go to the gym often and in the summer go to the beach often/use spf on my scalp so i wash my hair more frequently than I'd like to (4-5x a week). I double cleanse my scalp by just using the shampoo twice and only put the conditioner on my mids to ends and it works super duper well for me I don't like the shampoo as a body cleanser. It's okay but I prefer any other fragrance free baby wash as a body wash instead I also tried their hair density serum. It's only been like 6 weeks and I know the hair growth cycle is super slow but I haven't noticed a difference at all with it really other then it just feels nice on my scalp I have wavy thin hair and sensitive oily skin/scalp for reference

Brookii280: As someone who’s ran out of their ole reliable conditioner, I thank a god I don’t believe in that I was able to find a fragrance free option to use in the mean time!!! Like, I spent 30 mins in Walmart (also with a broken right ankle lol) trying to find SOMETHING without fragrance and that I could use. That was until I felt an anxiety attack coming on and just asked my Mom to drive me to Ulta; my original product is completely out in all Walmarts within 40ish miles. **I’ve got chronic and severe eczema that’s being “managed” with Dupixent and various ointments.

Carolina McNair: Great video, I would love to see you talk a little more about haircare from time to time - product recommendations, ingredients to look for, etc. Also just wanted to say that your hair is absolutely gorgeous and thank you so much for everything that you do

Sheherazadeh.91: Your natural curls (after you showered and didn’t style your hair) is ALL I EVER WANTED! Be grateful for your natural beauty Cass ❤️

Broken Wench: Try rubbing the shampoo between your hands until it foams up. Then distribute it at the top, nape, both sides then start to work it thru. You’ll use less product that way. ETA: cream or opaque products are usually less drying

DJ: Stop using heat on your curls girlfriend. Your curly hair is gorgeous!

Elisa H: I started using both of these about 2 months ago and I was honestly really pleasantly surprised. I do agree the shampoo is kinda whatever, but the conditioner is better. I bought the shampoo first actually and noticed my hair looks so shiny so I bought the conditioner. I noticed when using both together that I get so much volume! it also brings out my crazy natural wavy hair. I will probably keep purchasing but ill def try adding peppermint oil to the shampoo.

Lynn Z: I have oily scalp too and have double cleansed over the years. First wash is just to get the oil out, and second wash is really where the game starts. Shampoo gets foamy and generally more enjoyable to use. Of course I don't have TO haircare line yet but this technique has worked on me for many many years now - not stripping, just satisfying the sensory. Thanks for the review! ♥️

moussabby: As a kinky hair girl, I looove the conditioner. The shampoo is a no-go for my regular super dry, dehydrated scalp and hair. It was too stripping. But I'll definitely repurchase the conditioner!

maramolly snow: You review says it. It is totally for me. I've supper supper sensitive skin. My scalp was really bad before using it. And it got worse, because I had to shower more because I work at the swimming pool. So yeah, like you said, for people who swim regularly. And the conditioner works also really good for me :) I finally saw my own texture of my hair. It wasn't strait all the time :) I'm happy you made this review. You confirmed it is a good option for my eczema prone skin that has to deal with the swimming pool on a regular bases.

Manes by Mell: I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR PROGRESS!

Frankie D. Roosevelt: Hi Cassandra! Idk if its a listed warning, but the Ordinary Aha/BHA peel was causing my hair loss issues to some degree. I would have breakage and lost from ym head one to two days after use anywhere on my body; regardless if it touched my hair at all.

Rita Christensen: I want to help you like you did for me and my skin so here are some tips for you about hair care. Try to lather your shampoobefore applying it. Youll get easier distribution and less friction on your hair. Also try to only move your fingers sideways as you work tour way from the front of your hairline towards your neck. Your hair is especially fragile when wet, so cirkular motions will most likely damage your hair in the long run. Also avoid running your fingers through wet hair. This might be ok for curly hair though. Just massage your ends between flat hands only going down. I Hope this helps against your excessive hair shedding as it did for me. Greetings from a Greenlander :)

Shelly F: Lil tip/hack for shampoos: Replace cap with one of the nozzles you get from an applicator bottle so that you can apply shampoo directly to the scalp. Helps get shampoo on the scalp directly so you don't have to scrub/work so hard and ends up saving you more product which in the end saves you more money as well.

ChuckNormis218: I love that you mentioned the square bottles!!! I use shampoo and conditioner bars nowadays and they’re the perfect shape to just put ANYWHERE in the shower, now when I buy something in a bottle and it’s ROUND? Nightmare zone.

RiRiSmi: I feel like you would really benefit from a curl gel if you aren't already using one! Like one you have washed and conditioned, just use a hair gel to style you hair and tame frizz with weighing your hair down. I think it will work great for you as your hair is on finer side. Serums and oils can sometimes be on the heavy side.

Mariana Espindola: When you leave your hair curly, it looks AMAZING. Those curls are soooo beautiful.

Kostadinka Kirilova: Hi Cassandra, few years ago I had problems on my scalp like dry patches with dandruff and when I scratched them, soon they would start bleeding. I started researching some diy shampoos and found a recipe with water and rye flower. I have used this shampoo for maybe half an year and it healed my scalp. I used it as facemask as well and my skin looked amazing. The shampoo is made with 20g of rye flower and 80ml of water. You can make it either ticker or thinner according your preferences. I have applied it like mask on wet hair, massaging it on my hair, leaving it for about 10min and then rinsing off. It took time for the hair to get used to this type of cleaning but I saw only positive results. I should admit that I had to clean the siphon in the bathroom a bit more often and had to also use a blow-dryer to get all the tiny pieces of rye flower out of my hair, but those were minor details for me. If you decide to try it, please share your observations :)

Jaliyah NG: Thank you so much for this review, as I'm currently struggling to find a conditioner that does not cause me to lose my hair volume (esp. as someone with full fringe in front of forehead). Losing hair volume has been an issue when it is so humid in rainy Summer and I didn't expect that the shampoo does not foam much, so probably will try out the conditioner once I can find it in my city Looking forward to watching more hair products review vids on your channel!

karl0me: Cassandra: OMG I have such a pet peeve for ppl not turn off the faucet while washing their face and not saving water!!!! Also Cassandra: *leaves the shower going for the entirety of this video*

Brittany Swanson: I shake the shampoo bottle before I use it and it foams up more! Don’t know if I’m foaming it in the bottle or mixing some ingredients in that stay at the bottom, but it’s been working for me! :)

Christa Belcher: Thank you for these videos on hair loss! I have struggled for years to find the right products to keep as much of my once thick locks as possible. :) Recently, I started using Pura d'or hair thinning therapy scalp serum. LOVE! It's all natural and the first time I'm noticing a difference in hairs lost in the shower. Might be something to consider?

Beth Parks: I was a bit shocked as to how much conditioner you used. I was told by a wonderful hairdresser that you need such a small amount of conditioner and that most people use way to much. She also said to only put on your ends versus the entire head. Maybe try this and see what you think. It has saved me a small fortune for my curly thin hair.

MJ: I love your natural curly Hair! Would be so awesome if you'd dive a little bit deeper into the curly hair method and recommend good haircaire without fragrance

pourquoi: thanks for sharing your opinion! i love this type of shampoo, it reminds me of gentle natural formulas. its great for daily washes combined with a 'rougher' one once every few washes and a scalp peeling

Marika Maria Magdalena M: Wow.. you seem to be so rough to your scalp omg. With this plastic scraper wow, I always thought one has to be gentle to the scalp. But what I actually wanted to say was How Beautiful You Look with Your Natural Hair ❤❤❤

Elia Olucha Sansano: Cassandra, I had the same feeling as you... I have oily scalp and dry ends... Try to dilude the shampoo with some water before applying it to your scalp... I always keep a plastic bottle with a finger of water in my shower , so I just add a bit of shampoo close the bottle, shake it energetically, till you get a foam that you will apply to your scalp directly from the bottle!!... do it... you will thank me so much!! I also love the conditioner

Kirsteen F: Honestly Kassandra we want to see your curly natural hair more often as you have a beautiful curl and it really suits you ! And I said this before u mentioned your straightening antics !

filmsbynix: I wouldn't test just any products on my curls especially the ordinary when we know there are high quality salon curly hair products on the market. You're brave to do that

Katarzyna Barczyk: Cassandra! I would like to tell you how to increase the effectiveness of those products! (and sorry for my bad english, it's my second language) First, you need to really deeply soak your scalp before applying shampoo - this will make iteasier to distribute. Before putting the shampoo on your scalp, try lathering it with a little bit of water between your hands or even dissolving it in a cup - this is the best way to use less shampoo :D I think the Ordinary's shampoo may be a good product for someone who washes their hair everyday but still you need to use a stronger, clarifying shampoo once in a week or two to get off that build-up on scalp WHICH may be the cause of hair loss (the follicles can get clogged). This will make them shiny and fluffy again, aspecially for oily scalp, which I also have :3 I don't know much about locks but the general rule for better conditioning is to squeeze out excess water out of hair before applying the conditioner and then leave it for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. If you want your hair to be less frizzy but still hydrated, scrunch in a bit of leave-in conditioner before letting your hair dry :) I hope your hair will improve and you will fall in love with your curl again <3 Love you so much!!

Dahlia: Just an advice for you to refuce hair shedding in the shower is to be s bit more gentle when detangling your hair

Emily Brackett: As a long hair loose curl girl that has blown dry and straightened her hair since she was 13 I ALWAYS USE 2-3x the amount of conditioner to shampoo!!! Don’t know why these companies don’t offer larger conditioners that way they run out at the same time.

Brittany Nichols: I've been using this as well for the past two months and I've loved it. After drying with a microfiber towel I use the dream coat for curly hair by color wow and my curls look amazing. They are much more bouncy and full but not frizzy.

Margemellow: Hi Cassandra! I recently read a article about how antidepressants increase skin aging. Could you please tell me your thoughts on this subject, if its true or false. Thanks!

Moody Moo: It took me surprisingly long to realise that normal shampoo shouldn’t make you’re head hurt after washing. Then I found out about dimethicone- I think this was causing my soreness! I use kids shampoo now haha. I’m a bit afraid to try new shampoos. I want my hair to be shiny and silky tho

Heidi van der Horst: You didn't mention the ingredients of The Ordinary so I don't know if they actually work for hair loss. I had the same problem so I bought a Biotin and Collagen Shampoo. I didn't use the hairdryer as much. The biggest difference was when I used a water shower filter. It changed everything. Btw, I envy your natural curls, you should definitely wear your natural curls more often. Much love from Cape Town.

Tannia Craig: Thank you so much for your review! I have a very oily sebaceous scalp and this shampoo definitely wouldn’t work for me! But I’m willing to give the conditioner a try ❤

mithali rao: hey! I've been following a lot of your videos and they are fun and helpful at the same time. Just a small thought though, and please take it in the most positive way possible...I know you have commented on certain celeb reaction videos where they have left the faucet running while doing their skin care and you've mentioned that thats a big pet peeve of yours...I just noticed your shower running while you were scrubbing your scalp or applying conditioner to your hair, hope it was only for a few seconds PS: you have gorgeous hair :)

Nikki Bordeaux: Absolutely on edge waiting for Mell and Cass to do a collab. I just couldn’t cope if that happened

Brogan Edwards: Can anyone recommend any haircare connoisseurs on par with Cassandra and her skincare knowledge? I need to know more about how to look after my hair!!

Emma Smith: A little tip for the shampoo is to apply it to your scalp like you would apply facial cleanser to your face (meaning that you rub it in your hands to create foam)! It will lather more efficiently and you need less product, also make sure that your hair is completely soaked in water when you massage it in!

Pablo Neves: im pretty sure u have already received tons of messages like this, but, r u gonna react to Kim's new skincare line? haha hoping to see and hear your thoughts. love your humor! thanks for sharing the knowledge.

Das Güs: Your curls are beautiful! Girl Please rock them loud and proud. The texture, the volume, the character. Your hair has some personality that you should strut.

Reece Peace: Have you tried Denorex? It’s formulated with salicylic acid, menthol, and a water soluble silicone to protect dry hair. It’s the perfect shampoo. It’s designed to be used only once or twice a week. It says on the bottle that it’s a shampoo+conditioner but I always go in with a conditioner after shampooing with Denorex.

Perry Rice: My hair used to come out in clocks until I start buying avocado. And aloe vera plants. Scoop both of them out put them in your blender. A little bit of apple cider vinegar. Baking soda. Put it in your hair as a hair mask. Put a plastic shower cap on it. And let it sit as long as you can. Keep doing this every time you wash your hair. I also know if you wash your hair everyday. That can mess your hair up too. ‍♀️

Nina Fernández: I have been using aussie since I also have very dry hair and my curls are almost gone, because of the heat and recently a bleach and a copper hair dye. But it feels like it’s nurturing my hair so much I can see the curls comings back. I would recommend you to try it❤️love you

CrystalEyes83: I genuinely love your natural curls, I have all these years I’ve watched you ❤️

Rosalina: I started using a brush when I shampoo my hair. The brush was very stiff. I started using it because I noticed that I was getting dandruff. Never in my life have had dandruff and I got concerned. That brush gave me such a good feeling. I felt my scalp like never before. To my surprise, my hair was looking great and was growing so fast that even my hair dresser was surprise. The brush got rid of my dandruff and made my hair and scalp so healthy and look so beautiful.

Rainy Jupiter: Try, only applying the conditioner to your lengths and ends. You don't actually need it on your roots or scalp, that can contribute to build up plus the pH for your scalp is different than your hair, conditioner usually has a pH meant for the hair :)

Dahiana Jimenez: Hope you and Mel do a collab! Where she teaches you a new curly hair routine

Annie5825: I feel like you and I need some sort of scalp treatment or styling product that helps absorb scalp oil the day after shampooing. Our hair is similar in being fine, thin, oily scalp with dry ends. The different is mine is dead straight. Dry shampoo helps somewhat with the scalp oil, but quickly leaves a nasty buildup (IME). I’m curious what other products or techniques you’ve found to deal with the oily/dry hair.

Nikki Turner: When I use a sulphate free cleanser (usually innersense) I need to make sure my hair is absolutely saturated, I have my head upside down under the shower for around 3 mins constantly raking, scrunching, pulsing and roping water in. I noticed the second time you cleansed your hair wasn't properly wet, this will definitely affect the lather, I get a bit more of a lather (still not a sulphate lather but enough) when my hair is saturated. I also don't usually get lather first time round but if I go in with a second cleanse I usually get more of a lather. I also emulsify it between my hands for around 40 seconds and I get a creamy lather In my hands which I dot around my scalp then I go in with my shampoo brush. Hope this help

Brighten Day: Oooo thanks for sharing your natural hair with us what do you use for taming frizz? Have same curls as you and your hair is #goals recently tried JVN condition and love it, not sure its vegan ness but may be worth checking out. Seems hydrating af so far.

AlizMari23: If you use a brush (yes, even instead of a comb) to brush the conditioner through, you'll find that no matter what brand you're using, you'll only need about half the amount of conditioner that you normally use.

Chloe Demure (Save The Victory Roll): I loved this shampoo and conditioner and i will buy it again when i run out. I only wash it once a week and i have normal hair not dry or oily. I do vintage styles. I have baby fine slightly wavy hair. Function of Beauty was over priced garbage. My hair itched and red scalp and it was awful.

MakingUpAnn: Girl! Your natural curls are PERFECT and BEAUTIFUL! And if that is your hair with no product.... duuuuude. So pretty. I also have curly hair and am trying to accept and love my natural curls.

A Hargrave: Double cleanse for hair is best too, second time you cleanse you will notice it should foam up more

Emily Jensenius: I have that shampoo. If you're only washing 1-2x a week you will probably need to shampoo twice. I usually use it as part of a double cleanse. Agree that it's great for sensitive skin, it rinses clean and doesn't dry my skin out and it smells like nothing.

barb unger: The conditioner needs water to work in my hair. I apply some, then cup a little water into my hair as I squish the conditioner through. The shampoo also works better for me if I add water as a pre-rinse once I've worked it through. After a number of weeks, I did use a clarifying shampoo. I mix a squalene rich conditioner with my TaniaJane SmartGel after I rinse out the Ordinary conditioner.

Janita Shawaar: I’m liking the shampoo & conditioner a lot so far…. I tried using the shampoo as a face & body wash which I thought worked very well. Hopefully they add something to make the formula more sudsy.

Ally Morgan: I may or may not have sent Cassandra a lengthy and awkward dm on instagram about what fixed my hairloss. But does anyone know if she's considered dandruff as a reason for her hairloss?

Kayla G.: I do the double cleanse method in the shower. First shampoo application won’t foam up as much because you’re getting the junk out. Like removing makeup/sunscreen. Then the second is the deeper clean/follow up. Making sure that all the nasties are down the drain.

John Dilbeck: I have hair very much like yours… Curly and oily scalp. Surprisingly, what has helped me is the Suave Almond and Shea Butter Shampoo and Conditioner…. I tried the curly girl method for years and it was too gentle.. my hair got oily so quickly.

Heather Watson: i swear by the pacifica rosemary mint scalp serum! i used to have the oiliest scalp. i could never get away with 2nd day hair because it was so fine and greasy by the next morning. no dry shampoo could combat it. but after i got eczema, i couldn't shower everyday anymore. i struggled through transitioning to washing it every other day. eventually i started suffering from bad hair shedding. they say to wash your hair every day when dealing with hair loss (the dht in your sebum sitting on your scalp longer can make it worse), but my poor dry skin was in pain (i'm not able to wash just my hair in my shower). on my hair loss journey i found the pacifica serum and after using it a few times, i noticed how less greasy my scalp got. i really do feel like it helps balance my sebum production! i think the lactic acid helps clarify build up and sebum and the rosemary helps with growth and shedding! i use it the night before i wash my hair.

Sander Myklebust: Absolutely agree... the fact that the shampoo don't foam was a no for me as I didn't feel cleansed after the shampoo, HOWEVER I absolutely LOVE the conditioner and will be purchasing it again, I have never agreed with a review more than this one, spot on my thoughts!

Ebond: HI!!! Have you tried any of the Phyto Paris hair care line? I've been experimenting with it using their volumizing and densifying products, as I have very fine hair that seems to be getting finer and thinner as I age. But they also have products for curly hair, coloured hair, different types of hair loss, and men's hair (and other stuff I'm sure). It is on the pricier end, about $20-$30CAD for the shampoo, but I really like the way it makes my hair feel, so I'm trying to decide about re-purchasing. If you get a chance to check it out, I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on their formulas, as they say they are mostly natural. I really hope you read this!!!! (Or, if not, I hope that someone else reads it and can tell me what they think, lol).

Vasudha Harish: Cassandra have you tried oiling your ends before shampooing? just the ends. It worked well for my oily scalp and dry ends

HGKatniss: I tried both the ordinarys shampoo and conditioner and have to stay it was ok on my scalp and hair very basic. Before I used the Pantene Repair shampoo and conditioner which helped repair and lock in my hair follicles and I saw a difference with that.

Francisca González Cohens: I have to say that I really love your natural curls ❤️

Iris Kaufman: My hair is very similar to yours, and I love Redkin acidic bonding shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels very silky and the curls are defined and smooth, also gives me volume. And by the way the scent is amazing

Jill Vasquez: Curly girl here and my hair def likes a little bit of sulfates to really feel clean. Once out of the shower I use the Ouai leave in conditioner and a few spritzes of their wave spray on top of that and that's it, no heavy, greasy, crunchy feel with a little bit of control.

Mimi M: I majorly struggled with oily hair, i can also develop dry patches of psoriasis around the scalp also. Plus dry ends. A good friend and hairdresser recommended to me to only use shampoo once, maybe twice a week, and just use conditioner on the other days i get my hair wet. Total game changer. It helped regulate oil production, and it stopped the development of flakey psoriasis, especially when i oil my hair prior to shampooing. Best of both worlds!

PurplePixie: I've been waiting for this video for ages!! I've just bought two of those scalp massagers after I saw you use one and they are just amazing. They make my knees go squishy

infinityandmore: Cassandra! Could you make a video on the best pimple patches on the market? I feel like many of them don’t work and are simply their for the aesthetic value

Kay: The 'Hair Density Oil' did the exact opposite for me.....You know, if the hair loss is that bad you might want to get your DHT levels checked. Hair loss in women follows the same mechanism as in men.

JENNIFER- 🥂T[A]P Me!! to Have [𝐒]𝐄𝐗 With 𝐌𝐞: Have you ever been to a curly hair salon where they show you how to work with your curls as well as cut your hair in a way that reduces frizz? That was the game-changer for me early on. I didn't even know my hair could curl I thought it was just a frizz ball until I learned and I never get anyone else to cut my hair since except for people who specialize in my hair texture. Constantly straightening my hair in the past totally ravaged my very fine curly hair....

ViciousBeast: I have similar issues you do. I use Sephora’s ACV scalp scrub once a week in conjunction. Just started the multi peptide drops.

Paulette Hogan: Your curly hair is beautiful, as you are beautiful! You can completely rock the curls, which will reduce frizz in near future, since less heat will be applied to your hair when straightening.

ayesha ali: Thanks for this video!! Really useful review. Your hair is gorgeous. It really complements your face shape and it's a lovely healthy colour. The detail you included is really useful so thank you for being so thorough

Margarita Trinny Rocha Vasquez: Love your channel and you inspire me to buy the ordinary and inkey. I’m not a so sure but I would like to give some comments about how you try your hair. That plats tools you used when you washed your hair, it was like painful to watched because I read a lot about how important is to use gentle round tree brushes -I mean not pointed. You mentioned grease scalp, probably it’s not so recommend to put balsam on your scalp, don’t you think? Please take min comments from someone to tried to help. Im aware my English is not god because it’s not my mother tongue. But I rally hope you can understand my points. Take care

Hayley Greiner: These products are AMAZING for folks with atopic dermatitis/eczema, especially on the more severe side. I have not found a good shampoo/conditioner (even among some other fragrance-free options) that have actually not irritated my skin until now! I do not have super strict hair needs (I have never dyed/colored and I don't use heat often bc wavy hair), but this really does the job-- especially considering other brands irritated me so badly I could not wash my hair often!

Patricia Balzer: Cassandra… also a curly haired girl here. Have you tried JVN hair? Game changing product for all types of hair. The pre scalp oil wash might help you with your hair loss. I love JVN’s shampoo and conditioner I find they do not weigh my curls down at all.
