|| Thanks so much for watching ||

Hello welcome back today, I'm trying out a Reetha powder, which is an all-natural shampoo, so excited I've never used this before, but I've done a lot of research on it, so I'm gon na be using it with Shikoku powder which I have used before, but I really Hope it doesn't go out of date. Cuz I've had this for about three years, I'm sure it's still okay. I am currently on full stay hair, so it's pretty greasy fourth day is usually the day that I would wash so we are on wash day, there's just two things you need to know before start number. One is that I am currently still doing the kind of go method, so I'm gon na be doing the curly girl technique in the shower. The only difference is I'll be using this. Instead of my normal curly girl approved non sulfate shampoo. The second thing you need to know is that my hair is not heat damaged. A lot of people have made assumptions about my hair and it's not heat damaged. It'S just very dry. That'S my hair type. My hair has been improving over the past month. Now that that's cleared up, please stop telling my boy hair is heat damaged and we can all move on with our lives. Okay, I'm now gon na go into my bathroom and we're gon na make a little concoction. So, of course, I needed to get a little voiceover in here somewhere. So here I am in my bathroom now there are a few different methods and recipes, but I'm just gon na follow. What'S on the back of the box, which says two teaspoons for sure, hair and four for long hair, so I did roughly three. Then it says optionally, you can add 1tsp of Shiki I am'la or Ayumi powder for conditioning, so I've added chi-chi-chi ship KK. Then I just break up the lumps and add a little bit of filtered water to make a smooth running paste. You can also make this a rinse by using more water and straining out the powder, but I feel like the paste is a little more clarifying because it's concentrated and acts like a scrub. Also. I tried a similar rinse a few years ago, and I found my hair was still a little bit greasy after while I'm mixing. What on earth is this stuff, so aretha or Reetha powder is most commonly associated with Indian hair cameras. It'S made from dried soap nuts, which are a type of fruit from the Liedtke family grown in tropical parts of Asia. They'Ve been used as in ancient times to treat various conditions, but they're mostly used as a natural cleanser, because they contain a large amount of SAP. Inin, which kind of works like a soap some articles say they contain vitamins, a d e and k, but I'm not 100 %. Sure, if that's accurate, I tried to find a scientific source to find out the nutrient value, but I couldn't find many credible sources, but it looks like they mainly contain safranin and fatty acids, so the hair benefits include cleansing, increasing growth, treating scalp bacteria and infections because Of its antibacterial and antifungal properties reduces dandruff, increases shine detangles and apparently it helps to kill lice. So it's all around a great healthy option for your hair and it can also be used on the skin. A few cons, it's quite mild and most sources say it's not strong enough to wash out a hair mask or an oil treatment from your hair. It'S a bit messy and I have heard it can be a little drying if used too much. So that's something to keep in mind so before I apply the shampoo I wet and massage my scalp to help lift any dirt, and then I literally I'm just massaging it all over my scalp. It was a little bit messy and a little hard to use, but it was actually it felt quite nice, like kind of like a scrub. I did find after a while it started to feel kind of gross and dry, like it just felt like a big old clump of hay on my head, but I guess it was working and then I just rinsed it out really thoroughly had to be quite thorough. I really had to scrub to get all the little grains out and then I just conditioned with my natural conditioner using the curly girl, scrunching technique and, as you can see on my hands, there were still little bits of powder in my hair, even from conditioning. But I think I managed to get it all out when I rinsed I'm out the shower, it did take a little while to get all the the powder out. I feel like it's kind of out. I know there's a little bit left in there, but I feel like when it dries. It would just come out. I'M now going to use my gel, which I've been using for the past month and I'm gon na scrunch, my hair as normal. Usually, I would sex my hair to do this, but I'm just gon na put it all in I'm now just continuing to scrunch dry with my microfiber towel help get the water up so now, would I let it air dry, but because it's kind of cold at The moment it's gon na take a long time to air dry, so I may have to help it and I'm gon na be diffuser on a low heat at some point, because this could literally take all day to dry, and I don't got time for that. I'M just going to clip up my roots, which I've been doing lately. I really like the look it gives. My hair doesn't have a lot of volume. It lies very flat to my head, so this helps a lot. I have Amazon affiliate links, which means, if you buy anything through one of my links, I'll get around four percent commission. I think it's 4 percent. I remember calculating on time. So it's it's like minuscule, but it really helps if you want to buy anything on. Amazon use my link and you'll be helping me out a lot. I honestly really appreciate it. It looks clean and it feels clean. So that's a good sign, but I guess we'll see when it's dried. Ok, my hair is dry holy crap, I'm having a good hair day in case you're wondering I roll my bangs in one of these little rollers. That'S how I get them to be so spoopy. It'S just a style that I enjoy. My hair is clean. Where is it gone? This has cleaned my hair. My hair is clean. I try so many different things. My hair is different every day, but this well, I know for sure it has cleaned my hair. My hair is not greasy. It'S clean, I'm so happy. I can continue to use this, I'm definitely going to because of this. What ah, ok, but I will say, though, for the past month I've been using a non foaming cleanser, so I haven't been using sulfates, so this may have worked better on my hair than on someone's hair that has been using sulfates regularly because my hair is getting Used to not having sulfates in it for the past month, so that may be the reason that this has worked so well, so it might work differently for you, depending on what your hair is used to I'm just impressed. You know this was like 2 pound 50 for a whole. Big thing of powder can't go wrong. Okay, so that's my bud on a wreath of powder. I hope you enjoyed the video it's so great to find new things. So if you want to see more from me, I have a ton of hair videos, go check them out, they'll be on the screen. Now you can follow me everywhere. I have all the social medias and I'll see you in the next one bye, swish, swish fish hair is good. Today, look

Beth: You’re honestly getting us all through this pandemic hen

Taytay Queen: For those wondering! Here are some other Indian hair/skin treatments our mothers taught us about. 1) Coconut milk and Aloe Vera gel for an hour all over the hair before shampoo as a conditioning and protein treatment! 2) Shikakai, Amla, and Yoghurt mixed together and used as a pre shampoo hair mask. 3) Chickpea powder, Little bit of Turmeric, milk powder and Oatmeal as as body scrub and mask! ( This stuff is FANTASTIC- messy af but makes my skin glow like crazy ) 4) Fenugreek and Black seed infused oil as a scalp treatment for hair loss. - all of these recipes are available in detail online! Try them and see if it works for you :D

Jenny King: I get the same thing from every single hairdresser: "your hair is heat-damaged." Then they don't believe me when I tell them I haven't even used a hairdryer in at least 5 years. In fact, I probably take better care of my hair than most people, but the result is still a dry, frizzy mess. Feel your pain!

yashodhara: That packaging is so Indian, my Indian self feels called out lol

Nuzhat Islam: As an Indian, I feel so happy that you're recommending this! Also, if it helps, it pronounced she-kaa-kai!

Nezukooo: Your hair has been looking SOOOO much healthier and happier since you started the curly girl method!!! Please dont give up because it WILL pay off I hated everything about my hair before I started it but now I love it and I keep getting compliments from random people on the road It took me a couple of months to get good results though but its 100% worth it

Leah Anna John: Your hair looks so freaking gorgeous through the whole video I can't even-

Sparkle Forever15: You know there’s always gonna be those people who 100% understand that your hair isn’t heat damaged but just like to cause problems unfortunately that’s the internet for ya

charlie_: Your hair is gorgeous today! So happy that you tried that method, I've been using it for over a year now and I don't think I'll ever go back to "traditional" shampoos Have you ever heard of marshmallow root powder ? It has amazing conditionning and hydrating properties so the aritha is not as drying, plus I think it makes the mixture a lot easier to apply, it makes it a little bit gooey so it sticks better to the scalp Hope it can help!

Nidhi Kesharwani: To get best results soak the powder over night and then warm the mix then apply, thats how my family has done it for generations. These two work really really well together along with amla. Thats how I use it once a week but yes it can't remove oils properly. You can also use a natural hairmask along with it, powder of Brahmi + Bhringaraja + Hibiscus + Senna, soak these over night too and then apply like a mask and wash after 1-2 hour ✌❣️

Garima Verma: Hey it's really great to see that you're using Ritha and Shikakai. Our ancestors always suggested them for haircare routine in India.❤❤

idk420: Isabella : I usually wash my hair after 4 days Me: haven't wash my hair in over a week

Manon: Thanks for the tip, I actually transed from curly to straight. I recommend actually scrunching with conditioner, and using keratine spray!

Kyra Van Inthoudt: I also transitioned from straight to wavy naturally, I really thought I was the only one!

Laura Hernandez: I would recommend you to deep condition regularly. Protein treatments are good one a month, moisture treatments once a week after shampooing your hair, or how often you feel necessary, also use heat while doing this, 30 minutes under the dryer. My hair used to be a mess and wouldn’t grow AT ALL until I stated deep conditioning regularly. Hope this helps. Love watching your hair journey ❤️

chi: Love this!! Love that you try different, natural washing methods and share with us the results :) your hair is looking healthier in every video btw!! I know it's tricky bc your hair is dry, but would love if you did a video on oily roots or more alternative shampoos like this. I've been taking advantage of this quarantine time to not wash my hair that often (very oily here, have to wash every other day normally) but I'm struggling still. Been using the vinegar rinse tho, that's working great for my hair type!! :)

aristopoieo: ISABELLA OH MY GOD!! Your hair is looking SO GOOD im super happy that you're able to find things that work for you and that your hair is finally starting to cooperate! It looks so much better... smoother, healthier, shinier, thicker... i really wish i had hair like yours sometimes :)

Ghostly Goth Girlfriend: Curly hair tends to be very dry/ thirsty so that may have been some part of why there wasn’t very much of an explanation other than having dry hair, which makes it even better that your doing the curly girl method because the products are very moisturizing!

E Н: I’ve been binging your hair journey videos today and I swear it was destiny to find your channel My hair used to be straight when I was a child but it’s only gotten fizzier the last years. I’m going to try the curly girl hair method today and I really hope it helps me too! Thank you so much for all your amazing videos!

Li La: You should try flaxseed gel :) it works really well for me and we have a similar hairtype. It makes the hair smoother and less frizzy

Camille Creps: Aww your hair looked so beautiful, and I’m so happy that you are being able to slowly but surely able to create the hair goals that you’ve always wanted good luck on your journey

Marie: hey! I've been watching a lot of your hair videos and you and I have very similar wave patterns. I am a little over a month into my version of the curly girl method and I have found my hair gets super wavey/curly after I wash/detangle/condition my hair upside down in the shower, then apply a holding product (I've been using glitterati by brad mondo, highly recommend!) I scrunch excess water out of my hair with a t-shirt then apply the product upside down, then flip it back up, part it and apply more product to spots I might have missed. I always air dry as it causes less frizz for me and I swear my hair has never been so wavey/voluminous!

Anaïs Barrere: Hello Hello ! To make these mixes I recommend that you don't use a steel or inox spoon as this cancels and spoils all the nutrients of the powders. I recommend a small wooden spatula for instance and for your mixture, instead of water, you can use coconut milk for a little sweetness or a flower water with virtues corresponding to your hair needs, it's magical Anyway thanks so much for your videos

Angel Alcaraz: Oh my goodness this video was from yesterday! I've been binging a bunch of hair videos including a few of yours because my hair is slightly wavy and very dry so I wanted to see what I can do with it and it's nice to be able to follow someone who enjoys trying natural products and is on a hair journey as well! Another wash you might try is using Rye Flour (tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOp_oLjjtx0 ), i used to use it and it cleans well but I just got really lazy lol; good luck on your hair journey!

behindthestars: Ahhhh we legit have the same hair!! I found that what really helps condition my hair is doing the rosemary rinse by holistichabits, it's really easy to make and leave's your hair shiny and nutritioned. If you're looking for other alternatives to wash your hair naturally, you can also try washing it with rye flour (you can look it up on YouTube) it worked really well for my hair :) aaand my all time favorite (which I'm using right now) is Aleppo soap, it's a traditional recipe, completely natural and very gentle so it washes away the grease and dirt but doesn't dry out your hair

Wolf2000: PS: its worth experimenting with different brands of shikakai and such. With the first brand I tried I had a similar experience with rinsing it out: I had to go through my hair for about 10 min with conditioner to get all the grains out. Now I use a different brand and it’s powder is WAY finer so it doesn’t leave your hair feeling like there’s sand in it

Kate Whinder: Natural hair washes are amazing! I've been washing my hair with chickpea flour for just over a year now and I'll never go back ☺️ sometimes I have a bit left over in hair because my hairs so thick, it can be hard to get it all but I just brush it out when it's dry

Aidan McMahan: Hey I came here from your “hair journey” video and I just wanted to come to a new video to ask if you’ve tried the no poo method. Most people advocate for only using some kind of special kind of conditioner, but I had the same kind of issues with my hair so I shaved it and let it grow out, only washing with cool water and my hair type completely changed. After not washing it for a few weeks, my scalp regained its natural ability to cleanse itself, it became much more wavy than before, had a lot of form, didn’t get greasy or dry, and I love it. I’ve been growing it out for two years now and it’s shoulder length and I try to recommend it to everyone. If you want to do it you have to stick with it for multiple months though

Nerd: I really love these kinda of natural treatments, another one that I found was using henna. I do have pretty soft and healthy hair initially, but I dyed my hair with henna and it made it so much softer. It has really great conditioning effects and makes your hair seems so much thicker and healthier. You may not want to dye your hair, but there is something extremely similar to henna called cassia, it is used for conditioning but you can use it without dying your hair. I dont know if you've tried something like it before, but it might be something interesting to try out if not

Laura Ortuño: your hair looks, A-MA-ZING!! hope everyone is safe, love from Spain! ❤️❤️

Katharine Sutton: Your hair is gorgeous and I’m so proud that you finally found a method that works for you xx

Letícia de Almeida: My sister and I purchased this on amazon and I’m using it for the second time today. It really does wash your hair well! Gonna continue to use it! Thank you for this video

lizzie strutt: I’ve been using this for a few weeks YOU HAVE SAVED MY HAIR THANK YOU, my hair has never looked better I’m shook.... and the price is legendary you are my hair saviour

ashley camacho: @Brad Mondo. I love seeing how your hair has come across through many paths in its journey. I like watching hair videos, hair routines, Jaír dresser reacts etc. One thing I observed was how people with curly hair would tilt their hair upside down using a blow dryer with a diffuser to target the roots for volume. :-)

E K: I recommend getting layers in your hair! It really helped my waves clump better and with volume and less halo frizz! Obv you can’t go to a hairdresser now haha

Spiny: I’m so happy to see you content with your hair, you rock short hair a lot! I’m ecstatic to see how you are taking it slow now and I can tell it’s wayyyy healthier now! Best wishes ❤️

Ale Arell: I just bought these thanks to you, Isabella! I will keep you guys updated on my experience with this natural shampoo once I finish the whole boxes!

Sabrina: i’ve been watching your curly girl method videos and i have similar hair to yours, and i think i have some methods that really work! The squish to condish with conditioner and leave in conditioner (in the shower the sopping wet hair) and cantu products that are super inexpensive and work just as much as the pricey ones! Hope it goes well xx

Ginger Sal: Yay I m so glad you uploaded I m experimenting on my super dry hair, wondering if it could be wavy in disguise and your vids are a huge help keep them coming :D I ve never tried the powders you mention but use henna, cassia and sidr regularly, it completely transformed my hair !

Anneliese Rosenbaum: Your hair looks so healthy!!!! I've loved seeing your progress!!

Cel: Hi! I really like your videos and how much effort you put into them! I have really dry hair and have been upset with it since i was a kid so i had it always in a bun or in a ponytail my whole hs life until early college. I just started doing cgm (i have naturally wavy hair) and i cried so hard when i had my first time having a great hair day and i can let my hair down nicely. My hair's still not perfect tho but it's surely better! Your videos are really informative!

Alexis Sear: This is the best I’ve seen your hair in all of your videos recently!! so glad you are finally finding things that work for you after all your hair trouble

Rio: Your hair looks really healthy! :D I’m a nobody but I’m really impressed with your results, especially since the massive hair journey you’ve been on/are on.

Jo Rutherford: Some tips that make a difference in my experience: 1) Try applying a tiny tiny tiny tiny bit of coconut oil to your ends before you shampoo. Itl stop shampoo from stripping the hair.. so you will never feel the ends dry again. 2) Rice water once per week 3) Henna binds to the keratin in hair, strengthening it... if you dont like the colour of henna, mix it with a range of herbs to create anything from blonde to black to ... antyhing. It is possible. 4) Scalp massage

Hilda Corell: Thank you for your videos Isabella! In this Ayurvedic Shampoo mix you should add Amla powder too (is amazing for hair grow!) and live the mix for a few hours or over night before use :)

M Harney: Oh your hair looks so good, going to try this! One thing, you should try putting the gel in your hair right out of the shower. I usually flip my head, soak my hair and then scrunch in the gel, it makes a big difference, you don't need to use any more than usual I think it just helps distribute it more evenly throughout your hair! Good luck, it's looking fab!

L: My mom used to buy boxes of reetha shikakai powder and make us wash our hair with it. It helped me get rid of my dandruff

MyLoVeLyMaN: Hello :) I just found you and love your videos. What differences did you find between shikakai and aritha? I'm loving the nails ones as I am regrowing my nails after using some glue on nails that made a lot of damage to mine. I had to completely regrow them! I'd like to see a video about how to mend a broken nail, what methods you recommends etc. I've read about the teabag method but never tried. Never tried those cleansing methods cause I had my hair too long and was impractical. But could actually try now having shorter hair :) I love your energy. Keep safe Xx

Une Girafe!: I don’t know if this is an option cuz it’s kinda damaging (guess), but I know you were satisfied with the Brazilian straightening and there’s this similar thing called a Japanese permanent straightening so it’s a perm that doesn’t wash out (until your hair grows back) and keeps your hair.. straight (non-frizzy). Hope this helps <3

Jasmine Freya: Hiya, I’ve been following the cg method for a year and have a similar curl pattern to yours. From watching the way that you style your hair (results looked really good btw please don’t think I’m saying you did anything wrong cus if this works for you then stick with it) I just thought I could drop you some tips as I saw your cg update and you saying you’ve tried different styling techniques. I experiment with my hair all the time and find wavies have the hardest time in terms of styling as so many things my hair doesn’t like and every wash day is different and never know whether it will be good or bad. However certain things I’ve found to work really well: when I get out of the shower I scrunch the water out of my hair and don’t use a towel or anything else to dry it so it’s still soaking wet but not dripping anywhere then I’ll put my product in by scrunching and tilting my head (so if I’m scrunching the right side of my head I’ll tilt it to right) so the product goes up to the top and tames my frizz and the top of my head is then curlier. When putting product in its best if it’s wet enough to hear a squelching sound so you know product is being soaked into your hair (your hair swells when wet so product can enter into hair follicle, more so than if damp as the follicle won’t be as swollen and won’t allow for much product to enter the hair). Also I’ve found it’s better to apply conditioner to mid lengths and ends if cowashing (I don’t bother scrunching in shower) I find it better to comb through my hair with conditioner in (then rinse it all out) then when I get out of the shower I don’t comb through or rake through my hair as I find it breaks my curl/wave pattern up too much and my hair doesn’t look as curly, I find it better to apply products my scrunch to the top of my head gently and/or praying hands technique . Diffusing is different for everyone though I find it best to dry my mid-lengths and ends first so the curl pattern doesn’t get weighed down by the water as my hair is very thick and helps it to curl better when diffusing. I also hold diffuser up to the top of my head for 20 secs (med speed and med temp) then move on to a different section and after cast has started to form on my curls then I flip my head around trying to dry my roots. Just thought I’d share some tips for you if you wanted to try sorry it’s long but hope this helps a bit

Veronica Veil: I so appreciate all the research you do. I'm usually the one researching everything and you do it for me, thanks. :-)

Happy chapp: I have such a similar hair type to yours. Its a real big hassle to explain it to anyone, especally a hair dresser who keeps taking my hair type understanding as heat damaged. I only really straighten my hair 2 times a whole year, its naturally wavy just like yours but I have more curls and it's super frizzy. Your videos have really helped me open up to do something to repair my hair so i too am currently in the process of buying a shampoo and conditioner to treat my hair and fix it. I've got a smooth glossy hair at the front but it's dry and corse behind. Wishing you all the best for a better hair by the end of the year!

Tr;sh Eiri: im so excited to see your quality long curly/wavy hair! recently made a rice rinse and it's still fermenting hoping my hair and scalp will like it once i use it. more vids pls!

achonnn: As someone with an oily scalp, dry hair and extremely bad cystic acne, I have something very important to say. Recently, my Indian friend's mother recommended shiyakai (I say shiyakai instead of skikakai), for both my hair and my acne. I was kinda sceptical about this because I've never heard of it before but my friend's mother insisted and gave me another powder (I don't remember what exactly this is but it's some kind of flour) for my face to treat acne. She said to just use the powder for cleansing my face, (add water to the powder to make an exfoliater of sorts) and the shiyakai for my hair WITHOUT the addition of anything else. I was so torn because I'm someone who used to use a shit ton of korean skin care (10 steps atleast) and it would be amazing one day and just completely backfire on me the next. When my friend's mother introduced these two powders to me, I was at an especially low point with my acne being SO bad and my hair being exceptionally dry. So I said, let's do this, and I started using just the powder with water to cleanse my face, no other cleanser or toner or moisturizer. I would wash my face with this maybe 2-3 times a day and put aloe vera gel after. For my hair, I completely stopped using shampoo or conditoner and I just used the shiyakai powder every 2-3 days. It's been around 3 months now after I made this no-chemical change and let me tell you, my acne is almost 100% gone, I do breakout but before I used to have atleast 10-12 active cystic acne on both my cheeks but now I have maybe 2 (not cystic acne, just normal pimples) on a bad day. I do have whiteheads on my forehead (around 4-5 tiny ones) and blackheads on my nose still but my cystic acne has just vanished, disappearing into scars. Overall, my face is much brighter, acne free and soft and supple to the touch. With my hair, it's grown a lot more, it's darker, shinier but it hasn't helped a ton with my frizz and dryness but my scalp is always clean. If anyone wants to know, I'll ask my friend's mother and let you know what exactly the cleansing powder contains later but it literally changed my face in a matter of 3 months and I'm forever grateful.

Rebecca K: Girl you are DEDICATED. I love that you are sharing the things you learn about haircare. I have an Indian background and this is the first time I've even heard of this lol, I wanna try it ❤

Κλειώ: You can use glycerin with water to moisturize your hair, believe me it's really good!( Search for the analogies[ how much water and how much glycerin to put ]) You can use glycerin only if where you are there is moisture in the air, because if it's dry, glycerin( that draws moist from air) won't find moister and will draw it from your hair resulting to dry hair. So be careful, do a research before trying it

Sagrika Tanwar: Hello, Isabella. I hope you’re safe & healthy. I saw your video of struggle with long hair. Also, the method you’re using in the current video is the herbal method discovered and popularly used in India. I have the same kind of journey with my hair, also my hair was hip length before I decided to cut it till shoulder length because I was concerned about the hair health. My hair is frizzy too. What I’m about to tell you is the only method I love and found effective. “Hot towel treatment “ this is super easy and controls frizz like anything. I got my frizz in control also I started using herbal conditioners & shampoo. I took 1 step at a time and it worked. Don’t leave this treatment after a week continue it for 2 months if you find it good then may carry on with it. Stay blessed ✨

Shieldmaiden for Christ: I washed my hair with soap but powder and rinsed for a very, very long time. Maybe 3-4 times the amount I would for regular shampoo. My hair still feels filthy with residue. Doesn’t look oily, but when I run my hands through it it feels much dirtier than visibly very oily. I have used natural, sulfate free shampoos for many years but trying out older, even more natural methods is still really challenging. I had similar issues when I tried bentonite clay. I feel like I would almost need to sit in a creek to justify how much rinsing is necessary I never got the bentonite out until I shampooed again after 3 days. (I wear a low bun 5-6 days a week so no one can tell if my hair is sticky.

Beth: I love using it! I had mine for about 4 years and it worked ok. I bout a new one and tried it again and it worked even better new :) I loved the video and I enjoy following your journey

Lovely Daughters: As you want long hair too, use a little tea spoon of amla too. Amla is amazing for the hair and hair growth. Also let the mixture soak for a while, an hour or so, application will be easier. I have been doing this since 2 years.

Just me: Hi, love your video's. Because I'm a chemist and your research always seem to fit. It is true saponin is a natural soap, but I'm against its use; because saponin is currently not being filtered out of surface waters, and drinking water. You can ask what the big deal would be for just a little bit of paste. Well if more people use this paste the environmental impact will be that water is being contaminated more and more. oeh and btw; Amazonians use the tree branches of this natural soap in water to catch fish; the high concentrations of saponin will paralyse the fish, and they will float, just ripe for picking. Also, not good for the environment of course, but those are Amazonian, and we cannot interfere with their lifestyle. I don't want to interfere with yours either, but just that you know that the chemical saponine is not filtered out of Europe's wastewater treatment plants.

classy: You are the literal hair queen.

بثينة: girl, ever since i started watching u, m enjoying my hair more tbh and m trying to grow it long too, now it's past my sholders a bit and m using henna and moroccan hair mask (ghasul) every 8 days, no shampoo and no oil treatment before that wach, but i use shampoo once in a while, and i already got volume back, i got thin fine hair and it gets poofed once it dries out. anyway, thank you for making me be interested in my hair again

dpc: Your hair looks amazing!so proud of you

Poorva Takle: I'm from India and my mom used to boil the shikakai pods with dried orange zest in some water. It helps in retaining the shine of your hair and also in getting rid of the greasyness.Using this is easier than using the shikakai powder. You can get the shikakai pods on Amazon (of course shop for it when it's safe)I think you should give it a try!

Vicious: So happy to be on my hair journey with you!

Megha Bhardwaj: Using a mixture of amla, reetha and shikakai from more then 4 years N it works ! It helps in increasing hair growth and provides shine You can use it once every 15 days as a hair mask instead of a hair rinse As it doesn't really clean the oil and dirt

Victoria Bckstrm: Your hair looks so great!! Love ur vids x

Sarah Wetterer: IMPORTANT!! That curling gel has dimethicone (which is a type of silicone) in it which you want to avoid if you aren't using sulfates to wash because it will just build up in your hair and make it frizzy and dry. Maybe this is a different formula but it at very least USE to have dimethicone in it.

Tahlia: My hair is naturally dry. Dead straight, naturally blonde. Never use heat or dyed and its been suchba struggled the last 6 months! The only thing ive found that works is double conditioning, and sometimes putting a bit of conditioner in the ends when I shampoo. Probably not the same issues you have though because my hair is not curly or wavy

Ankhes enamun: Hi, I love Ritha too. As kids we never used shampoo, aritha powder always. But now it feels like too much work. However , I’ve figured out an easier way. I soak the nuts in water overnight and rinse my hair with this water (I apply oil to hair and leave it overnight). Sometimes if my hair is still oily, I do use a shampoo. This way you don’t have to spend a lot of time getting all the powder out of your hair and gives the same results as powder. Not sure if you can get these soapnuts though.

Padmaisonaroll: Yes! My grandmother would always encourage me to use shikhakai powder. Very healthy and nourishing! :)

Charlotte Campbell: I don't know if you've tried this already, but as someone who follows the curly girl method, you might want to try doing all of your shampooing/ conditioning/ product application upside down! Once I started doing this I noticed a HUGE positive change in the definition of my curls! Just something to keep in mind in case you want to try it!

new channel! look for lissa elle: my vegan hippie arse is loving this, wonder if it works well with the kinky curly hair I've been lumbered with especially in between washing hair. I infuse shikaikai and amla with my hair oil

Karina Bliss: my grandma always told me how her mom would wash her hair with berries, and i would always be so confused as to what berries she was talking about! Thank you for making this video!!! ive been wondering this for years

Erika Kuzenko: Literally I use no heat on my hair not even blow dry and it's soo damaged and it breaks and is frizzy and I always get told its heat damage don't lie.. Your videos are really helping my hair feels so much better and I actually had a haircut today to just get rid of all the split ends

pr omi: My hair is such an insecurity of mine. Its undyed , barely any heat damaged as well. But it's staightish wavy and and very dry looking , I have hair loss and above all its frizzy af. I love your channel and how much effort you put into taking of yourself!

B Cuevas: Would like to know how it works for you long term! How your scalp reacts to it and how long you can go between washes before getting oily in comparison to using traditional shampoos :)

Jennifer Hong: I don't even doubt twice to try this method since I tried the rice water rinse (that I first saw in your channe) and it works so good on me, my hair goes up to one week pretty clean and I just feel so fresh the first four days so thank you so much for doing real content and I'll try this method next! <3

Nehal Tiwari: Also, mix reetha if you want the foam. Its a natural foaming ingredient. Shikakai, aritha and Reetha are the combo

SHIVANI MUNDLE: I have the same hair type as you. My hair was frizzier than your hair a couple of months back. I am currently trying a thing that I saw on instagram. I apply castor oil to my scalp and coconut oil to the length. I keep it overnight. It gets really greasy but after a lather shampoo and nourishing conditioner, my hair has become manageable and frizz-free. I hope this helps you because I know your struggle.

Sophie Gilbert: Your hair looks so good! So glad this worked for you!!! Xxx

kenzie fullmer: Olaplex #3 is a permanent repair treatment. It puts your hair bonds back together from the inside and the more you use it the more it repairs and smooths frizz! It's amazing. They also have a leave in conditioner it's called Olaplex #6. Fights frizz for 72 hours, has the repair treatment in it, and moisturizes. Just research some before and after of Olaplex ❤️

Inma P: Your hair is getting SO MUCH BETTER and it looks SO GOOOOOOD <3

Maira: I remember in our country LifeBuoy (I think) had a shikakai, reetha and amla shampoo (all in one). I don't know if it's still being sold though

Muskan: My mom has a recipe of using these ingredients to make a usable shampoo! We store it in the fridge for a week or so. She started making that because I was having a lot of hairfall. We all wash our hair using that for the past year, it really works :) btw I'm from india. Our ancestors have washed their hair using these ingredients only since a very long time. My grandmother also did, in her childhood. We all just forgot about it due to commercialization of everything and wanting a quick fix, I guess. So glad you found this stuff!

Liliana: Your hair is looking much less damaged than what it used to look like when I first started watching! Honestly didn’t expect this congratulations!

eerie 👼🏼: I’m so happy your hair is coming around and ur happy with it!! u deserve it

Iman Zubairi: my grandmother used to use this to wash her hair and i was trying to find the name for it and I finally found it here! I am going to try this because the no poo shampoos I've been seeing just haven't felt authentic to me.

Julie R: My hair is just like yours. I’ve never used a hair straightener or curler on my hair and I’ve blowed dried it like maybe 3 times in my whole life. My hair is just naturally super dry

Semira Inayatullah: By the way , I wanted to thank you for telling the truth about the humectants that it will cause more dryness if the hair is dry and porous ... As I was using natural form of humectants that was actually making my hair more frizzy... Thanks a lot ❤️

Alba Ojeda: I have curly hair, and for scrunching after shower I take a towel , grab a part of hair ,scrunched a few times (the same part at the same place)and I do that for all the hair (the harder u scrunch the better it looks) . For my hair works , I hope this help u

Scarlett Moon: Your hair videos are the best Isabella i have been watching each and every video you made. Hair science, curling method, knowing your hair type, you helped sooo much!

summer: hii! i’ve read that gel can be very drying and can cause frizz! the person i heard this from recommended just using oil and a conditioner.. i just thought i might let you know, your hair’s looking so good!!!!

LC: I have really curly hair (around 3c, maybe more) and what works best for me is to wash my hair, when it's  still damp, a little more wet, and i put it into four sections. I twist them and put them into little buns on top of my head, i wake up, take them out and scrunch with gel. If it's not curly at some points, i will damp those parts and scrunch them will curling gel or normal gel and they look GREAT! I would reccomend it if you want them a little more defined! :)

Jules: Great job trying something manufactured in my country, try coconut oil and aloe vera next - I've used that method often. Aritha powder is more useful for balancing excess oils than to treat frizz, coconut and aloe works to restore moisture better.

Sydney Backstrom: Something else that could help with frizz is using the praying hands method rather than plain ole' scrunching (not that there's anything wrong with that), but changing from scrunching to yje "Praying hands method" really helped me personally. (There are a ton of different methods for applying products, but I'm sure you know that lol)

Vinita Sharma: Adding a tip After washing with reetha and shikakai if you feel that your hair doesn't have any of the reetha and shikakai left, wash your hair for some more time. Because if not cleaned properly it will make a clump and you will lose a lot of hair trying to detangle or removing it from your hair.

Lucy AM: Ah I have this problem when henna dying my hair, there’s usually gritty powder left after I wash out and condition. But it is generally completely gone after another wash and it isn’t too much of a problem ☺️

Call Me Swivel Hips: Not all damage is heat related. For example, my childhood barber trained a cowlick into my hair. Going against the natural grain of my hair. That interrupted the distribution of sebum across my scalp, and I started going prematurely bald because of it when I was 27. U've mostly reversed the cowlick and it is quickly healing. But of course the hair where the cowlick was is still damaged, as it grew out while I still had the cowlick. Eventually, I'll just have to cut my hair off annd grow it back it from scratch to get rid of it. If someone told me I had heat damage, I'd be floored. I've never used heat on my hair even once. I'm a guy. Like, whatever. But that doesn't mean my hair isn't damaged. It's all a process that only you can understand. Honestly, it just sounds like they only want to scream at you about the heat they use on their own hair. Doesn't make much sense, does it?
