Hey what is going on? Everybody welcome back to lipstick great lux, I'm going through great and today I'm going to be doing a review on Jamaican mingle and I am walking Joe. So this is by far my favorite locking gel, especially the resistant formula, because this is for hard to lock, hair and say, for instance, you did have gray hair. Then this would be perfect for you, but I mostly just recommend this for anybody and everybody just because this does have an extra hold, and one thing I do know about locking gel is that it doesn't have a crazy hold just as much as you know, normal Jail, the biggest reason for that is because you're not typically going to wash this out as quick as you would with regular gel when you just put it in you, know just any kind of hair, but the resistant formula of this locking gel does have an extra Hold compared to the original formula, like I said this is my favorite locking gel and then today, I'm gon na give you guys a review, my honest review of this, because it was pretty recent. The first time I ever used the resistant formula and I used to always just use the regular formula it looked orange before I actually use this thing, we'll go ahead and take a look at the actual container itself. So it is jamaican mango and i'm locking gel. It is a resistant formula for hard to lock hair as an extra hold, and this can be used for great hair as well. Now, let's go ahead and open it you'll notice immediately. What the difference is between this formula and the original is that this one is white, since this video is completely about the locking jaw I'll leave a link to it down below, and you can actually get this in two sizes now this one is six ounces and I believe there is a 12 ounce, if I'm not mistaken, but I'll go ahead and link it down below. So we know that it is why this one does smell exactly the same as the original formula. So I'm gon na brief you on what this says on the back says after shampooing and conditioning I personally wouldn't recommend conditioning if you're in the beginning stages of your locs, but after shampooing and conditioning rinse and towel dry, I also want to recommend towel drying. If you have starter locs, your hair will dry relatively quick, so go ahead and let it air dry it only takes about, maybe maybe 10 minutes. If you are gon na tell dry, I would recommend using a microfiber or a t-shirt, apply a generous amount of resistant, locking gel to the roots or new growth and twist with fingers or comb to the palm milk technique can be used on more advanced locks, always Sit under dryer for resistant locks to activate heat, lock system, so at the same time with that, it isn't necessary to actually sit under a heat dryer. If you don't have that option, I would recommend getting a wave cap or a do-rag and then using just a normal blow dryer on the top of that and even if it did come down to it, so you didn't have a wave cap or a do-rag. You can't just use a blow dryer and my recommendation would be to use some cold air and then some higher, so I'd switch back between the both. So you can get up close with the cold air. But then, if you go far away and then use the heat to dry up all your hair, because a huge pointer when doing a reach whist, you want your hair to completely dry until you take out the braids or the clips or whatever you use and to Hold it today, I'm gon na be using the clips so guys. That'S basically everything you need to know about the locking, Jo I'm gon na go ahead and take you through a step-by-step process, really quick on one of my dreadlocks and then I'll go ahead and read twist rest of my hair and then I'll show you guys what It looks like with all the clips in and all of them twist it and then I'll show you what it looks like with all the clips removed and I'm actually gon na be doing a hairstyle after the fact we're actually just showered and checked with my hair. I didn't use their shampoo, you can use it. I'Ve never used it. Personally, I would recommend using Neutrogena t --, -cell or tee gel, because that is great for a dry scalp or a scalp that has a lot of oil buildup, especially having dreadlocks. Your hair is gon na be early because you're, not washing your hair, that frequent but say you washed your hair already and you haven't been active or sweated or have a bunch of oil build-up. You can just use a spray bottle and this will be linked down below as well. This is my favorite spray bottle, just because it has such a long spray and the spray bottle gets great coverage. So, like usual, I'm gon na take my glasses off, because I'm not trying to get these dirty and my hair is pretty dry already. After getting out of the shower, I'm gon na go ahead and just spray it down a little bit, mostly focusing on the roots. So I sprayed a little bit on the roots and then now I'm just going to take literally now. I don't like to use too much of the locking gel they want you to use a generous amount, but I'm just gon na use this much right here and I rub it into my thumb and then I'll rub it into the dreadlock. And then I just go from there making sure that all the loose hair and the new growth is into the lock and then I literally just twist it all the way down. I don't use too much on the length because I don't want build-up all the way through my hair, the roots is the best spot, just because I handles the locking gel whole lot better. Okay, so that feels good, and I've mentioned in another video of me doing. My first retwist that I always hold the first one in my mouth, just because I don't have anything else, they clamp it too. Okay. So now that I have two of these ready to go, I got my duct clip. I'M gon na go ahead and clip these together always make sure that there's tension at the root when you clip them all right, you guys so that's the first two I'm gon na go ahead and finish the rest of the head and I'll show you guys what It looks like afterward and I'll give you guys my full honest review of the locking gel okay, guys I'll let this dry for quite a while. I didn't want to let it dry too much because, like I said, I'm getting my hair actually braided right now, so that these will stay in a little bit better and they'll just be easier to maintain, but I'm gon na go ahead and take out these clips. Should be fairly easy to take them out I'll, go ahead and list the pros that I have of the locking gel. I see that it has a really good scent. I'D say it does a really good job of you know, holding the dreadlocks, where they're supposed to be so that they can lock up. They give your dreadlocks and icicle shine to them. I'M not sure if I mentioned already, but make sure dreadlocks smell really good. Another thing is that this stuff washes out very easy when it comes to the point where you do wash it out, because you don't want to keep just in your hair forever, like I mentioned before, locking gel isn't so that your hair locks up it's so that It holds your hair so that I can eventually lock up so don't go into it, thinking that this is going to lock up your hair, because one single product, as far as you know, shampoos or locking gels or gels, or anything like that, cannot lock up your Hair, the only products that can actually lock up your hair are tools, so I'm gon na say you know a crochet needle which I'll link down below in the interworking tool which I'll also link down below. But those are the only tools that can actually lock up your hair. Any other product is so that your hair can hold, or he maintained so that I can eventually lock up, but overall 100 %. If you are doing a twisting with gel round, I would recommend you making mango and lime locking, gel and I've just really liked this product. From the very beginning, I've always used this product. This is my second time using the resistant formula, and I like this one a little bit better than the original just because this one has a better hold and it's white, and I found that this one is actually easier on your fingertips. The original formula for some one reason has a weird reaction to my skin. Maybe it's not like that for everyone else, but for me it had a weird reaction to my fingertips, so I really like this one. I would definitely recommend you to pick you up. One of these link to it down below - and this last a really long time of uses twice, and I barely even scratched the surface on this thing. So I'll have this, for, I would say, probably even a year just because I don't use too much of it. But if you use a lot, you might want to pick you up a couple of these and also use Det clips, because this makes the biggest difference because it holds your hair in place. While it is drying because one of the mistakes I made in the beginning is, I didn't use duct clips and it my hair didn't really hold. Hopefully this encourages you guys to go check out some of your making mangal in lines products. Southern now see you guys. Next time you

Hasani Coward: I used it for braids and after getting my low cut fade in the spring it definitely helps my hair grow faster and keeps it healthy,it mostly comes in handy when I don't have my mango grease and coconut oil conditioner

Link: i think i’m going to like these dreads a lot more than your last set, this sectioning and lineup way too good

Mykelti White: As an avid Jamaican mango and Lime user. I can say it’s served/serving me well on my dread journey.

SilasLSP: This product isn't for everyone... it work for some... I just hate when people bash a product that don't work for them and it scares away others.

Mykelti White: As an avid Jamaican mango and Lime user. I can say it’s served/serving me well on my dread journey.

Anonymous HeSi: I just started my dreads 5 days ago(July21) and since then I been watching you and jemi got soull thanks for the tips✅

DNA ChisTatrAx: I bought the 16oz I'm re-twisting, mine tonight... I got it done, professionally like 2 week's ago and it only lasted 4 day's! I paid way too much, for that to happen so quick... so I'm doing it, myself from here on out! ✌

Ken's Wonderful: I use this and it works and helps my hair grow

Shaeon Johnson: Thank you for the info! It’s super helpful. I’m starting my dreads with the sponge method. Do you suggest using the the locking gel also? My hair is just under 3 inches long. Thanks!

Will _: Does this extra hold one get hard after the next day? And how long do you think it would last to keep your twists looking nice

Dominique James: I just started my locs and i use this product as well... I dnt have to use too much of it and i like it so far

OTS Casper: Ive been using the Jamaican mango and lime gel for a year ever since I started watching you and I ended up not actually liking it makes buildup happen so quick the gel sometimes hardens upwiththe yellow/ orange one and it just doesn’t hold up well either I’ve switched up to MyGel by Joie its really easy to use no build up or color in dreads and if you leave the cap off it doesn’t dry out and waste the whole thing like jamacain mango and lime. But a good piece of advice is just try many different products and find what works best for you bc what works for someone else doesn’t mean it will be the same for you everyone’s hair is different

Lost || life: It just comes down to which product works best with your hair

jacob dunson: how long did it take for you to grow your hair that long and any tips?

Skye Walker: I used the original (orange) one and I applied it to my whole Dreads... and yes, I got build-ups. So for everyone who's interested in getting Dreads, do it like in the video. I'm not unhappy with my dreads though. btw, I am biracial as well, but my hair is a bit curlier than his. Greetings from Germany

Kengikat: Great video. I need to start maintaining my own locs. Thanks for the video

Ellis Geisen: I use this and sponge my hair it works great

Samonyia Brown: I thought locing gel wasn't good but I have that same kind

DARK: How long do I keep the locking gel on for? Like how long do I have the hell in before I wash my hair?

Burt Gaming: Does this work for straight hair tho?

Dante Gebell: Can I use this stuff with straight hair dreads on my starter locs or is this more for course hair.

Kid Wunda: Gunther plz answer. I've been a fan for a long time and I was wondering, are you keeping your dreads? Also why didn't you make a video announcing you would?

Gaige Tobler: Hey Gunther so I have straight hair with an under cut and want high top dreads but I have thin hair but I’m going for dreads that are similar to xxxtentacion’s like thickness wise but I want a lot do you have any tips

Exclusive thoughts: Does it reduce shrinkage because my hair shrinks after showers so I wanted to know if it could lock it well enough to stop shrinkage

Mr Ándres: He's not gonna go back to dreads, he's happy with his normal hair

The Girl In The Shadows: I want dreadlocks but I’m scared my hair will be too thick to put in a small bun for work. (It has to fit through the hole of a baseball cap, to then be put in a bun and put a hairnet on top) I’m white, but still have long, thick hair. Advice, anyone?

skeetus damn: The resistant formula doesn't work as well as the original on my hair

Tae-007: I hate the new orange gel im having different results with it also compared to the white one. Smh

Mosei: I used locking gel yesterday my question is when i need to wash it out because i dont want to get build up

YourName: I'm feeling like recent videos are just long commercials for dreadlock products. One video could explain all the products you sell. Not that any of it is needed to get dreads in the first place.
