All right, so your natural hair is constantly dry, especially if you have 4c hair, no matter what you do, no matter what product you use dry well, today, let's talk about how to properly moisturize 4c hair so that you hear stays moisturized and what you should do To keep it moisturized, so this is what my natural hair looks like. If I'm not careful, it can get extremely dry. That also leads me to the main question that I always get. How do you moisturize 4c hair? I got it, it can be quite the struggle, and that's mainly because of a few things. How do you know your hair needs to be moisturize? What do you need to moisturize your hair? How do you actually go about moisturizing? It well good thing. You found this video because I'm going to answer these questions and break it all down for you to know. If your hair needs moisture honestly, you need to analyze it just by looking at your natural hair, especially 4c hair. You won't be able to tell if it's dry, however, how it feels is a different thing touch it run your fingers through. It doesn't make that crunchy sound. Are you experiencing breakage? If you pull on the strand, doesn't break automatically? Is it frizzy or your ends? Super bushy, the way your hair feels will let you know that it needs to be moisturize versus how it looks. Also, when you run your fingers through your hair and is dry, then your fingers will stay dry. The first is, when you run your fingers through here, and this moisturize, then you'll be able to film either sebum or your moisturizer on your fingers. So now, what do you need to moisturize your hair? The first thing you should know is that moisture is water. Oils? Will not moisturize your hair, let me say it one more time for the people in the back oils will not more stir eyes. Your dry four see here. An oil can either keep water in your hair or keep water out of your hair. They have their specific place in a moisturizing routine, but there are not a moisturizing agent we'll get into that a little bit later in the video. So when it comes down to moisturizing your hair, what you need is water. On the wash days when you wash and deep condition, your hair, your hair, is at its maximum hydration you'll notice that your hair feels really nice. It'S soft, its bouncy, its valuable. It feels great. Your hair can quickly dry out. However, within the span of a couple of days or a week, so your job is not done as soon as you wet your hair. You need to use a few products to keep the moisture in products that I personally enjoy. Is the melanin leave-in conditioner, as well as the I'm, a natural limit? Conditioner I've also been liking, the melanin style cream. I'Ve always loved the mo natural hair cream as well, and you can use whatever oil that you want with these products. You can follow the lco method, the loc method or my personal favorite, which is the LB method, because I'm starting with my hair, extremely dry, I could go ahead and spray it with a water bottle, but I'm actually going to just hop in the shower and completely Drenched my hair in water - remember: water is moisture, so I'm not going to try to skip steps because I know what I did to my hair and I know what I need to do to get it to be moisturized again, so I'm actually going to co wash Today, but typically I go through my full wash day routine. I will link to videos in the description box, so you can follow my washing routine if you want to, but today I don't feel like. I actually need to wash my hair actually wash just a couple of days ago. So I'm going to call after I applied the conditioner to my hair, I'm going to let it set for a few minutes while I shower and then I'm going to rinse it out. Typically, I try to work in sections, but today I didn't because I really wanted to show you what my hair looks like outside of the shower and there she is so this is my hair, freshly, Co, washed and pat dry. You can see what my hair looks like. It does feel really nice. It is really soft, but if someone was just to look at my hair and they would say that it looks sort of dry, but it's not. This is why you shouldn't go by how your hair looks. Rather, you should go by how it feels so we're all going to moisturize right now and I am going to work in sections just because it's easier and I do plan on detangling, my hair, so it all just works. If I do it in sections, I'm gon na grab a section of hair use a bit of leave-in conditioner and really work that through and I'm paying special attention to my ends, your ends or the oldest part of your hair. So you really want to be careful with them, follow up with my butter, which is why I call it the LB method. Instead of using a cream and an oil, I just use a butter, then I'm going to detangle and then put my hair in a twist. You so let's see that again section a piece of hair. I keep a spray bottle on hand to spritz my hair whenever it's needed use a bit of leave-in conditioner, really work that through follow up with a butter. This is shea butter and then put it into a twist. Personally, I like thick leave-in conditioners of snake heavy butters, that's my preference for my hair, but if you have fine hair, you can opt for a hair milk. As your liquid, you can use a lighter living conditioner, and you can also use a light oil to seal you and it's extremely important to actually seal the moisture in this is where the oils comes in. It could be in the form of a butter or an oil, but you have to use a sealant for your natural hair so that it doesn't dry out. So this is my hair all done. It feels extremely soft. It is moisturized because I don't plan on leaving the house. I am going to leave it in this twist and put it into a little bun on top of my head to protect my ends, and this is how you moisturize 4c hair, but Jen. What do I do a few days later? How do I know when I need to reverse your eyes? My hair glad you asked this is my hair 3 days later, it's not extremely dry, but how do I know that I'm analyzing it I'm touching my hair and, as you can tell my fingers, are actually pretty moisturized from touching my hair. I don't mean oily. There'S a difference, but you can tell there's a sheen to it. First, my ends are not feeling too bad either. That'S because the leave-in conditioner and the oils that I put in my hair a few days ago, it's still sort of there. However, I don't want to let my hair dry out all the way, so I'm going to remorse to rise it today. So this is what I do. I hop in the shower. I do my routine, I wash my face. I wash my body, so I let the steam from the shower open up my cuticles and from there I will wet my hands and then run it through my hair. The goal is not to get my hair extremely wet. It'S just to get it moisturize by using the steam and the water from my shower and if my ends are feeling kind of dry, you remember your ends are the oldest part of your hair, so you want to be careful with them. I'M actually going to wet. My ends, I'm just going to do this and let my hair soak up the moisture from my shower, and I told you my hair wasn't entirely dry because, as you can tell, when I rub my hands together, there's still that film of leave-in conditioner in my hands. All right so before I get out of the shower, I'm going to share with you a little concoction that I have so I'm what's known in the streets as a lazy natural, I'm, okay with the title, I've whipped out a little concoction which consists of water, leave-in Conditioner and an oil I have it in a spray bottle, so after I shower you can tell that my hair is pretty moisturize to seal in the moisture. I'M going to use my little spray bottle. The spray bottle technically has everything that I need. It has the leave-in conditioner in there it has water and it also has the oil that's going to seal in the moisture. So I'm spritzing my hair with that and I'm not concerned about trying to detangle my hair, but if I can remove some shed hair, I am going to do that. I'M paying special attention to my ends and I'm going to put my hair back into a twist. I'M going to continue doing that around my hair spritz it with the little live in conditioner, slash oil, slash water situation, don't forget your edges, don't forget your ends and then I'm going to put my hair back into the twist. This is the amount of shedded hair that I have and once all that is done, this is what my hair looks like, because I didn't really wet my hair. It doesn't shrink as much, but yet I still get the moisture and my hair is soft. It'S moisturize! It'S everything that I wanted to be to finish everything off: I'm going to use just a little bit of oil on my ends and put my hair back into the little bun, because I'm not going anywhere. If you liked this video, don't forget to give me a thumbs up, share it with a friend who's struggling with dry hair. If you made it this far, you might as well hit the subscribe button Ndebele. So you get notified every single time. I upload a new video and I'll see you in my next one bye. I just want to leave you with a few tips. I understand that you need a hair routine that serves as a reset button to infuse your hair with moisture moisturize your hair before it gets extremely dry, always dry, your hair with a t-shirt or microfiber towel. To be honest, I'm guilty of this, but I should do better and moisture is a journey not a destination. You can't rush it. If your hair is dried in, you have to continue to moisturize it

Felicity Memela: Finally I find someone with actual 4c hair I can relate to! I was about done of the clickbait "4c hair videos" and when I watch the video the person doesn't actually have 4c hair just dry hair

fattysl26: In between washes I've started adding my leave-in and oil (jojoba) and then covering my hair with a plastic bag for 15-30 minutes. It's been an absolute game changer for my hair. My hair is low porosity, so this allows the leave-in to properly get in my hair.

Florida Man: The snap back after the co-wash was beautiful. As a fellow 4C, I have a huge love-hate relationship with shrinkage, but it’s more love than anything. No other hair type in the world behaves like ours. We’re unique. I love 4C hair, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Con Hun: A TRUE 4c girl!!! Jenn you’re so amazing and very much appreciated!

BriBbri: I've been following your channel for awhile and I'm increasingly more impressed with the content you put out. Great representation for us 4c girls and lazy naturals. You're already my favorite natural hair youtuber. Keep doing your thing Jenn.

Mya Mavericks: This isn’t lazy at all. This is very do-able and manageable and you’ve just cut my wash day into a 30min re-moisturizing session lol. Thank you!

Cassidy DeFour: Thank you for this! I’m turning 11 soon so I want to learn how to do my own hair and this is the first step.

Debbie Pienaar: Can we just appreciate that this video is exactly 11:11 minutes long!

Nunya Biness: Thank you for this. I been learning how to figure my hair out as a man who's had short hair all his life. You ladies making these videos are giving my tight "angry" 4c hair the gift of knowledge it needs. Im so grateful

Bola Adebesin: I didn’t even get through the full video before hitting subscribe. 1. When I see your hair I see my hair. Real, beautiful, unadulterated 4c hair 2. Simply off the strength of the fact that you said, “oil is not a moisturizer”. Music to my ears. I cringe every time someone says they used olive oil/almond oil/castor oil to moisturize their hair. 3. Your voice is so calming to listen to

Preci: It’s so difficult trying to go from relaxed to natural on your own after years of your mom putting in chemicals, so I definitely need this. Hopefully it improves for me

DezziexLollygag: Wow, real 4C content with PRACTICAL tips! This is something I can follow, commit to, and use to re-learn my hair. So grateful to stumble on this channel!

Chy Daniel: This is exactly what I planned to do to my hair today.. perfect timing

SKY LYFE: 11:11 I’m on month 3 of my journey and so in love! I can’t wait until my fro sprouts to your length. I had locs for about 5 years they were down my back I did the big chop because at the time I wasn’t living right and hair ( antennas) hold energy! Also I noticed my locs damaged my edges from the weight and styled castor oil and time grew my edges back

Joyce Powell: Thank you so much Jenn for this tutorial. My hair is very similar to your hair, tight coils w/major shrinkage. I shaved my head bald the day after New Year’s to begin my natural hair journey and started consistently using hair oils and massaging my scalp to stimulate growth. However I’ve been suffering from patchy breakage. I realize recently that I’ve been ignoring the moisturizing portion of my hair routine so finding this video has given me some tools to repair the damage I’ve done to my hair. Thanks again, peace & blessings.

Imani Jahaan: Thank you for showing me my hair! Shrinkage, edges, just the whole process felt so comforting since it’s my exact routine . Yasss found myself hair twin!

Alex: I love how you acknowledge the importance of water! Not afraid of it. Your hair is so pretty and you nurture it so well

Parris Taylor: Thank you so much for this video. I was just about to give up on my hair. I was going to cut it off. I’ve been experiencing lots of shedding and breakage. But I watched this video, twice, and took notes. Today, I followed your routine exactly. I had so little shedding and the whole wash day experience was 1000% better. Will continue to use this routine and use this quarantine time to get to know my hair... again. This is take 6!

LaToya Ebony: Heeey girl!! It’s been such a long time. I love your routine, it’s so similar to mine lol! I’m so happy to see you back with hair that is thriving girl! *hugs* Missed you sis!

UTubeuzername: Looking at your hair in a non stretched state was amazing, it looks so healthy! You have beautiful hair.

Omams E: So helpful, Jenn! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and insights. I'm doing the shower hydration trick and it's really good, especially for the in-between days when your hair needs moisture!

Mercedes Nfono: Yes! Your hair texture is just pretty. Very thick and really 4c, I must say! I'm currently transitioning and I remember the time (way back in school) my hair was this thick and long. Congrats and thank you for this detailed info. It helps me not to give up!

Quelsplace: I am definitely on the LB/LCB bandwagon! This has been the best way to keep my hair soft and moisturized.

psr076: This is the most detailed I’ve seen for a while on how to moisturize dry hair. Thanks

LaToya Cummings: Thanks for sharing your moisturizing routine with the viewers as this was extremely helpful for me. My hair gets dry as well and I’m always looking for new and improved ways to add moisture to my tresses. I’ve been washing it a lot which I need to stop doing but I’m obsessed with clean hair that smells nice.

BlaqueCat: Thank you so much for this! I was wondering why my hair was so crunchy after a few days of me washing/deep conditioning/oiling... Lol. Will definitely be using these tips, hydrating in the shower and re-twisting... Especially since I'm not leaving the house...

Going Steady: This is my hair texture! Yessss ❤ People will say my hair looks dry but it really isn't ‍♀️ I literally do all these things!--When I'm not being lazy lol. I find twist outs to be difficult because my hair doesn't really "hang" so I'd want to see you do a twist out

Kim Williams: Thank you so much, yes, actual 4C hair! My daughter has 4C hair and I’ve been struggling to find a routine that works to do and send her to preschool, with all of the “oh-LAWD” stuff that happens there, and her hair getting dirty shortly after wash day. She gets lint in her hair and it sticks to the product and looks like it’s not clean… any tips? Thank you again so much, beautiful!

Void: I appreciate you sis! This is 1 of few and only I’ve seen so far of 4C content that is 100% the truth! and reflects my own hair and methods. I do all of this and have seen growth because of it. You’ve got a new Subbie and I will definitely be sharing! ❤️

Neoagegirl The Maverick: I love how real your videos are! Glad to see another genuine 4c natural, who is also lazy (just like me) out in these streets lol. I feel like lately youtube been finding me actual 4c people to watch and I'm here for it ❤!

Myah Newman: So much of this video is so true! Listen to your hair! I used to try to stretch my styles like some youtubers would recommend but I realized that I could only wear my hair out for like 2 days maximum before it dried out! I also used to avoid washing my hair or moisturizing because of the stress of it but I had to learn quick tricks that worked for me. I used to wear wigs a lot but my edges suffered and I was neglecting my hair. Mini twists have been saving my life. I do a cleanse and treatment and then twist my hair into mini twists. These allowed me to moisturize my hair literally everyday if I wanted (which I did). Every morning I’d spray my hair with water, use my leave in conditioner (which has Shea butter) and then seal with whatever oil I had handy. I’d keep them in for about 2-3 weeks and repeat. My hair is GROWING! And it’s moisturized to a point it’s never been before. Before my hair used to feel “superficially” moisturized but now I feel like the consistency has penetrated to my roots! My ends always tell me the health of my hair. Which is why I’m always sure to saturate my ends with my product. My hair and I are in a good place. I think I also used to fear wearing my natural twists as is. I always used to rock twist outs! Now, I only loose out the twists when I’m really dressing up and wanna get fancy. I also had a really good trim at the beginning of the year that helped to kick start my healthy hair journey.

Naturally KayD: This is a great routine and some great tips Jenn! Thanks for sharing and love your content ❤️❤️❤️

Miss Tangier: Absolutely love your hair !! This is true 4c hair finally a video I can relate to! I love your process. I have been doing this way also and it’s great for growth !

Mags: Also I love this video because wash day is so long I always tried to stretch my hair moisture out as long as possible but I will definitely be trying the little midweek routine of just showering and letting my hair absorb moisture then using my spray bottle! <3

Kassi Edwards: Absolutely loved the video!!! We need more tutorials like these in the 4C community!! I feel more confident after watching this!

cordie1706: FINALLY!!!! Real 4c hair that looks like mine. This is pretty much how I take care of my hair and I've been a deep 4c natural for over 8 years and have waist length hair. Great video #lazynaturalclub

Mags: Another tip I liked for checking moisture was seeing how springy my hair is. If you stretch it and it fully bounces back immediately it's nice and moisturized. When my hair is getting dry it will slowly shrink back up. When it's dry dry my hair will stay stretched out. Hope this helps someone!

IM: I LOVE this video! Thanks for being so thorough and clear.

T Rose: I am a 4c and happy to see our hair is just as beautiful. It took me to 40+ to embrace my natural hair. My boyfriend loves it. Your natural beauty shines with your 4c hair and natural styles.❤

CJ M: This video is the best! My hair used to break all the time! Since finding this vid I have followed the advice and oh my gosh! Brilliant! My hair is softer since finding the right method for my hair and breakage is so minimal! I have forwarded to friends. Thank you Jenn!!

S. Jae Ali: Thank you so much for this! Truly life-changing for the health of my hair! (4C with ECZEMA on the scalp checking in )

Tasha Martin: "Oils will not moisturize your hair..." me feeling EXPOSED lmao!!! I decided on a whim to stop getting relaxers and just go natural before I had the chance to look into how to maintain my hair. Thank you for the video. I still have a LOT to learn.

Naledi Baloyi: Girl, you are really helping me out,I haven't had hair for the longest time (if I do my mom takes care of it). So you are really saving my life. It's also been so hard finding a person on YouTube with similar hair to mine and yours is pretty close...

Jasmine Isn't Blue: So helpful! Thank you for getting straight to things as well!

Ebube Esiobu: Finally someone with hair that looks like mine! The shrinkage is real. This LB method has been on my mind and you just confirmed it for me. LCO, LOC never worked for me. Trying this on my next wash day

Miss Craze: I do the shower steam too! And let my wet hands run through my hair but not overly drenched. 4c tips and tricks!!

Natte styles: Yess more real 4c content never knew about the LB method ill definitely be trying it out! Thanks

Zoelle's World: This video saved my natural hair. I was about ready to hit the creamy crack. My hair looks so dry. All. The. Time. Thanks for the note to feel it not look at it. I'll give it some more time and try this moisturizing routine.

Sakura 咲良: You are Naturally gorgeous thank you for showing me the routine as a sister here needs itttt.

Kristen Hackett: This is my EXACT texture. Thank you for making this video!!! I needed it

Black Rose: Thank you for this! I've suffered breakage in the past 2 weeks, I've lost so much hair I can see my scalp in some places and I have thick hair. . I won't give up on my hair just yet and give this a try!

Shalynda Brown: Thank you thank you thank you and another thank you for this video. I like how you got right to the point and gave us an easy manageable way to moisturize our natural hair.

Givensongs: JEN!!!! U saved my 4c Hair!!! Girl, my hair thanks you. Girl, this video has been a true blessing to me. Thank you for being transparent. ☺

Star: Thank you for this cause this is my quarantine look too ❤️

requiemorelegy: loved this tutorial* and it really is like you say, to do it well you need to figure whether the hair looks dry or feels dry

Myra Gilcrest: Finally, real 4c hair. Love the video. My natural hair journey began in March. I moisturize every 3 days with oil and moisturizing butter, but my ends are always dry. I use leave-in conditioner on wash day which is every two weeks; will start adding the leave in conditioner to my routine. Thank you.

OutTheBlue: Thank God for this video. I needed this, all of this. How to know when to do something and what to do about it. These are the basics that have never been out right explained to me like this. I actually feel like I know what's going on now and I finally have a foundation to fall back on when taking care of my hair. geez why did it take so long for things to click in my brain...anyhow i'm very thankful for this video. also what kind of gloves are those you used in the shower?

Deidreforever: Great video!! I loved how you mentioned oil is not a moisturizer. I also usually work in sections to reduce breakage and for my own nerves. Also, I loved the editing in this video!

Kaka Nwanekezie: Hello Jenn. You're like my favourite hair vlogger and I'm happy you answer all my hair questions even without me asking . This video was really helpful and I look forward to a healthy 4c natural hair

SHE McG: Good deal, Jenn! I love the LB (I think I'll purchase some As I Am Double Twisting Butter along w/ my leave-in) for wash day. What I'm really excited about, however, is your concoction tip of water, leave-in condish, and oil... work it in hair (esp the ends which, btw, is like a marriage...the longer the union, the more it requires special care to avoid premature "split ends and/or unnecessary breakage" 'until death' ends the marital bond; thus, retaining length and strong healthy strands that support each other! No worries... I'm just #LAMA (laughing at (or @) myself again)! Thx, Ma'am, for such a thorough and easy to follow presentation!!! And it was so relaxing. You have beautiful 4c hair; just beautiful hair!

Janique Smith: This is the first video I found two weeks ago on how to moisturizer my dry 4c hair an when I say I’m sooooo happy I found this video I’m beyond happy. I did all steps except for the oil an when I tell you the small amount of shedded hair I have OMG Jen hun thank you. Now to get some hang time lol

Ebony V: Finally, someone with hair actually similar to my texture. Tired of all the kinky curly girls calling it 4c. I was like I must be 4d or e then

solarLola: I love how 4c hair looks .. you can mold it into anything and makes the perfect fro

Native EYE: Thank you so much for your videos sister!! I'm finally learning at 22 how to take care of my crown.

Tetseoma A'roma: Brilliant video! Get a good routine, stick to it and your hair will love you. Abandon that routine for more than 4wks and it will end in premium tears! I'm an extremely lazy 4c girl. My routine is stupid - Wash my hair with shampoo every 2wks - cowash every two weeks - normally dont shower with a shower cap, just pack the hair up - retwist my hair every week with the LB method. Small enough twists so you might be able to wear a wig over it Confession: silk scarf to sleep doesnt work for me. Always comes off And I pat my hair with the nearest handy towel after washing Hope this helps someone!

gyaliish: my hair is a mix of 3c,4a, and 4b but this helped me learn how to moisturize it after my big chop ❤️

WHO?: I’m so in love with black hair..I can’t keep my hands out of my OWN head. My husband stay playing in my head. Uh! This Crown is EVERYTHING!

Donna W: Thank you for this! I needed a mid-week method for moisturizing my hair. I don't mind being called a 'lazy natural' if it saves me time.

blklocladybug: I use to do the same thing with the leave in and an oil spray! And my hair thrived on it! I work the weekend so I was looking forward to doing my hair and was thinking heavily on my moisturization process. I looked at a lot of videos last night and this morning, my hair twin makes a video on what I need ! I forgot how great that concoction is! I love your videos! Keep making these videos because you are VITAL! Stay safe

digthewarmth: Watching some good 4c hair being cared for is so therapeutic I found out.

LaShonda Haywood: You just gained a new subscriber! I'm thinking about returning natural after 2 years of a relaxer breaking off my hair. Keeping moisture in my hair has been my issue whether natural or relaxed. Your hair looks very similar to mine so I can trust you when you talk about issues with 4C hair. I will try your moisturizing tip of letting the shower open my cuticles when moisturizing between washes!!

tigana: This was soo helpful! Thank you for making such amazing Afro care videos

Felicia L: I deep condition under the dryer and then go back under the dryer after putting on the leave in/cream/oil. I find that multiple conditioning steps under a soft hood dryer helps to seal in moisture. But, moisturizing before it gets extremely dry is great advice.

Aiyana Felder: I love everything about this video, thank you so much!! How long did it take you to grow your hair to this length? I just bc'ed back in March and I am anxioussssss lol

Charm Elizabeth: Thank you for this video!!This is exactly my hair. Great tips; I especially like the combination of the water and Leave-in conditioner in the spritz bottle. Your hair looks great! My hair is in the in-between stage right now, so I tend to use the oils, cream and spritzing with water. You have a new subscriber and I look forward to your other videos!!

Sipokazi Pangwa: I can never thank you enough❤️❤️, literally the only video one needs to learn moisturizing their 4C hair.

Evangeline MY: This twist hairstyle I do exactly the same since 2-3 months every 2 weeks after my washday routine #quarantinelife Tips 2 : I always wait for my hair to be dry to moisturize I won't do that And thank you for your precious advices. I'm in transition and your videos help me to love my natural texture more and more

Jessica Brown: My hair is constantly breaking, always moisture. I recently started doing so and it seems like it works.

Nida Dara: This video was soooo helpful!! My 4c hair is exactly like yours and lately I’ve been struggling with trying to keep up with it since i have sooo much hair. Last few washes i noticed my hair very very dry, brittle, stringy and just not it tbh. I’ve been very lazy with my hair using heat every time i wash. I want my hair to get better i want to stop being lazy and this video showed me and taught me everything i needed to do to get back in the right direction!

Quelsplace: I'm telling y'all once I started the LB method I haven't looked back! I also like LCB - Leave-in, cream, butter. For my Leave-in I use the Melanin Haircare Conditioner! It is . When I use cream I use WonderCurl Moisturizing Pudding, Camille Rose Curlaide or Curls Dynasty Vanilla Cream Custard. For the Butter I use WonderCurl Hair Sealing Butter, Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter, Curls Dynasty Twisted Definition or Melanin Haircare Twist Elongating Cream. My hair will stay moisturized for at least 13 days, and yes I purposely did not shampoo because I wanted to see how long I could go. When I add the WonderCurl Get Set Jelly I went 27 days! I wish I could post a picture so you can see. I refreshed twice by just spritzing water and squeezing my hair to get the water in. For reference I am 4a-4c and I have low porosity, low density, fine strands.

Kondensed Yah: Thanks for the video. Some might think this is crazy, but I want to share what works for me. After years of fighting with tight curls and dry hair, but not dry scalp (some would say it's 4c hair), since April 2022, I started washing my natural hair once a month with some salt water, and that has loosened my tight curls and taken away the dryness. The salt water stretches out and makes my hair easier to comb through. Don't ask me about the science of it because I don't know that, except to say that the salt water stops my hair from being dry, and the curls no longer look and act like 4c, since they are not tight and dry, and the shrinkage is less. The elasticity of my hair continues to feel great, even greater. So, on wash day, I start by wetting my hair completely, and I scrub and massage my hair and scalp with just plain water for a few minutes. Then, I squeeze out some of the water and pour salt water over my hair. I then scrub it, both hair and scalp, and leave the salt water in my hair until the end of my shower when I throughly rinse out the salt water. My only hair product is Jamaica Purelene Multivitamin Black Hair Grower, which I put in my hair while my hair is still damp, two-strand, twist it, and I'm done. The reaction of my hair the first time I washed it with salt water was amazing to me. It just rose up, as if someone was getting out of a crouched position and stretching with hands held high in the air, feeling free, untangled and celebrating life . If you care to try it, just put a little table salt in a bottle of water, enough water to saturate your hair, and shake it up to dissolve the salt. Don't make it salty. After letting plain water run through your hair for a while and doing some scrubbing and massaging, get rid of excess water and pour the salt water all over your non-processed hair (My hair is natural). Scrub your hair and scalp and let the mixture remain in your hair until you finish your shower, then wash out the salt water, throughly. I've no breakage or dryness in my hair from using salt water in it. Maybe it's because salt monitors the water in our body cells (Read it somewhere). But this I know for sure, God answered my prayers about how to manage my hair. Thank you, Lord Jesus ✌❤️.

Kay P: Haven’t finished watching it, but I want to point out that saying 4c hair isn’t very significant, moisture techniques differ between high and low porosity hair. 4c is just a curl pattern , you can be 4c and have either porosity, I think that is more important to take the porosity into consideration when choosing your moisturization technique. But I do like the lay out of the video

Tilly: This was a great video i found myself smiling at a certain point and realized its been a while since i enjoyed a natural hair video ❤ thanks for that!

Jenny Bee: Thank youuuuu for putting me onto this method. My 4c low porosity hair LOVES it!!

Urban Lark: I LOVE your hair. It is so beautiful! This video has inspired me to use water on my hair since I mostly use oils to moisturize. Thanks, sis!

Never Judge Her Naps: Finally a video true to 4C textured hair that I can relate to. No looking at a dry head of supposed 4C hair , only to turn into a full head of ringlets and noticeable curls with type 3 to even 4A hair. I do not think other hair types can see or understand how 4C women are underrepresented. They just tend to feel that all of us should be able to relate the same way because none of us have straight or wavy hair. True as that may be, 4C women see the difference between our hair texture and the more acceptable hair textures. If some, if not many of them could admit that there is a divide when it comes to what many define as more beautiful hair textures, then the natural hair community may possibly be more peaceful upon the examination of what people define as a considerably beautiful "afro textured type hair" versus a not so attractive "afro textured type hair".

DarkEmpress81: Ha! I’ve been using the LB method all along then . I like to use 22nd Century natural hair products on my hair as it’s completely natural, black owned and family operated and has my hair in the best condition it’s ever been in. I don’t use her leave in conditioner tho, I use Lush Cosmetics Super Milk conditioning spray in my hair. When I tell u this has been an absolute game changer in my hair! I usually try to wash my hair every two weeks but sometimes I’ll go up to 4 weeks if my scalp can tolerate it. I’ll use 22nd Century Natural’s tea tree shampoo bar to cleanse, use her hair stew to strengthen my hair and give it a light condition or if I need a deep condition, I’ll use her deep conditioner in Citrus or Lavender. Then I will dry my hair until it’s damp and spray the super milk on my hair and then follow up with 22nd Century Natural’s Herbal Pomade (a freaking game changer for my hair!). I also absolutely love her Twisting Butter. I use her Hair Oil to oil my scalp. Look into her products if you want to try them and follow her on YouTube. Her products uses really good ingredients so her stuff ain’t cheap, just a warning, but u really get what you pay for with her products. Also, I find that the cheaper the products, the dryer my hair ends up feeling. I pay for quality and it shows. My hair strands are 4a in the back, 4b on the sides and front and 4c in the middle of my head (a complete and total pain), fine and high porous, and my hair density is medium thickness. My hair breaks very easily so I have to be heavy handed on the pomades and hair butters so that my hair can retain the moisture. With this regimen, my hair will stay moisturized without me having to re-moisturize my hair for up to TWO WEEKS! And I have HIGH POROUS hair. I recommend to my type 4 naturals to try the LB method, I’m telling you it really works! Great video!

L L: I’m so happy I started copying you with the LB method. My hair now stays moisturised for a week, instead of just 2/3 days with the cream and oils. Thank you!

crazy girl: The conditioner/oil/water spray has changed my life. I've been doing it for years and I'm so excited to see someone else doing it too! I'm the laziest natural ever, but my hair loves that spray mix and as long as I don't do too much, my haor grows an insane amount

Afrigoddess 777: Thank you for this video. It really helps when my 4c hair is a little more wet and porous from the steam and heat of the water/shower to absorb the conditioner and oils. I like to run my fingers through it to really work the conditioner in. If the hair isn’t wet enough and the pores aren’t open from the steam the conditioner/oils will just sit in top of the hair superficially. I’ve seen girls with 4C hair make their hair look like hair that is of a looser curl pattern which looked amazing.

Marge.R.A: The first time I'm actually seeing a real 4c hair type YouTuber .this is my hair

LuminousPearl: I just found your video. It's nice seeing a black woman with actual 4c hair. My hair literally gets curly when I wash it. I am honestly so lost on how to moisturize it. In it's natural state it super tightly coiled and shrinks up really really tight. I moisturize by adding water, coconut oil, and then sealing with Shea butter. I noticed now when I do that my hair does stay moisturized. I'm just confused on how to moisturize my hair...

Lumi: Really appreciate this video my hair actually looks like this, same length and everything.I like that you went over everything after you were finished and actually listed the products.Thank you.

Dee-Dee BE: Awesome video....thank you so much. Just getting started a much needed moisturizing routine

Tati❤: I love you and you help me SOOOOOOOO MUCH also you made me feel a lot more confident about my natural hair journey❤

Otteria Trimble: The LB method does wonders y’all. I started using butters because my hair does not like oils! My textures range from 3c-4c and they all get in line when done consistently. I shoot for 3x/week

courtney j.: Thank you for this video! We literally have the SAME HAIR!!! I consider my a “lazy natural” too. I have some skills, but this hair… I wanna get better. I will! Also, what mic do you use?

Ola Ehirim: Love this content! Although I would say your beautiful hair falls more in the 4b category that 4c! A lot of us think we have 4c hair, but more of us are in the 4a-4c category. 4c has significantly tighter coils.

Samantha Samuels: Finally someone with my hair type. Im so happy. Loved this vid

Lisa Casey: So you have to do this every couple of days? Cowash, re-twist? Sigh... I just wish our hair held moisture for at least a week without having to do all this in between but back to doing my co-wash I go LOL thanks for the tips Jenn!
