See what how happy was i've been protective styling pretty much for the past three four five six months. Five months, i don't even remember y'all - remember i was telling y'all. I was not feeling myself. I was just not feeling it. I also was not feeling my hair. I tucked my hair away. I didn't um, take care of it. I didn't oil, my scalp a hot mess. I have a lot of product build up, so i need a shampoo, that's going to remove all the products and also deep clean my scalp. So i decided to go in with design essentials, oat protein and henna deep cleansing, shampoo, it removes build up, it adds volume, and this is the first time that i'm actually trying this line. I heard it's a black owned company design essentials. I'Ve heard this com about this company from so many different places and um youtubers, but i never tried it until now. So i decided it's black history month and not only because of that. I'Ve heard great things about this hairline, but so i wanted to try it for myself. I this is not sponsored. I did go out and purchase these products with my own coin, so i am going to give an honest review on everything. Okay, i went in within with one shampoo and rinsed that out first shampoo did a great job with lathering. Usually it's only the second shampoo with most products, but with this one i found that it lathered right away all right - and this is the second shampoo that i'm doing right now - making sure that i get deep into my scalp, getting rid of all the product and Dandruff and just nastiness y'all yeah. This is a clarifying shampoo that i'm trying today because, like i said, i needed a deep clean in my hair um. You guys have no idea yeah, it's bad, don't do what i did take care of your hair, even when you're feeling down. I didn't think it would be that long that i'll be down but um yeah. I literally just put a body on my head every night when i had the protective style and i did not touch it did not touch my hair y'all. Until you know, i wash it and protect the style again with something else so yeah, so i'm gon na lather my hair up real good with this shampoo and then rinse it out, and this is what it's looking like. I just want to show you guys it's so so um clean squeaky clean, so the shampoo did a great job at cleaning, my scalp cleaning, my hair and um yeah. I like the results so far. Okay, my hair wasn't dry, even though it's a clarifying shampoo, it wasn't dry at all, actually had a little bit of moisture in there and it was squeaky cleaning like i said so yeah. I give that a thumbs up, and this is the hair that i shed from just washing my hair, all right, which wasn't too bad for um. You know shampooing for from such a long time ago. All right - and this is the rosemary and mint stimulating conditioner. Now you guys, if you don't like mint on your scalp, you know that it makes you kind of cold. When you put mint in your in your hair, i can't explain the feeling, but it was kind of like ooh, okay um. Well, it is a rosemary admit, stimulating conditioner, so duh yeah, it's for dry or thick hair. My hair was extra dry, but i liked this um conditioner. It made my hair super soft. I just didn't like the filling on my scalp too much. It was um. It was too cold on my scalp. What'S the what i'm looking for y'all know what i'm saying it was too like pepperminty on my scalp it it stimulated my scalp that it definitely did, but i think it overstimulated it if that makes sense, if that's even possible but yeah anyway, i'm just taking section By section um working this conditioner in my hair and then detangling and also um twisting it so that you know it stays put and the conditioner um stays in my hair all right and then i'm going to take a plastic bag like i always do and cover My hair up - i let this in for about 30 minutes and right here, i'm just showing you guys the back of my hair, my hair is so soft. It looks you know healthy. You know you guys will see later what i'm talking about, but yeah. Like i said earlier, i went in with a plastic cap um just to keep this in my hair for 30 minutes, and then i would take this off 30 minutes later. As you can see, my hair is super soft. It even looks a little thicker. You know i'm not mad. At this design essentials line um, i feel like it added a little bit of volume in my hair. The shampoo definitely does that and the conditioner made my hair extra soft and i just like the results so far, so i'm going to try it again to see if i i'll like it again like i said i didn't care too much for the peppermint filling the Mint filling in my scalp, but i guess that's good for the scalp right, i'm just going to go in here and just rinse the conditioner out and make sure i get everything out of it and then i went in with what do you call these towels? It'S good for your hair, microfiber towels. I think this one is yeah. I think that's what it is: um yeah. So i'm in my makeup room right now my nails, yeah, i'm going to try the curls unleash leaf in conditioner that i purchased from amazon i'll leave. The link in my description box, this leave-in conditioner, is okay, nothing to go home and um and uh rave about it. It was just fine, it was quite all right. Then i went in with heat protectant. I tried the design essentials, natural agave and lavender blow dry and silk press collection, weightless thermal protective serum whoa. That'S a lot that was a tongue full right, a mouthful tongue full mouthful. Well, dear all right, i'm i'm like uh terrified of heat damage. If you guys don't know so i go in with the lowest heat setting on my blow dryer i've made a review and video about this blow. Dryer already so feel free to check it out, we'll leave it in my description box. This is what my hair is. Looking like looking like and as you can see, i got i need a trim, you can see right there. I need a trim anyway, i'm gon na go in with my good old blue magic. You guys know how i feel about this. If you don't check out my previous videos, i'm never going to stop using this product, i'm going to use it as my styling product for today, since i already moisturized my hair and um, you know, and i'm going to use this to just seal it and also, As my my uh styling product all right guys, this is where it starts to get tricky because i'm like okay, i'm assessing my hair. Now you know when your hair is curly um. For me, i feel, like you, can't really tell the health of it. I wanted to see everything, that's why i went in and blow-dried it, so i'm gon na do bantu knots two-strand twist first and then wrap the hair around itself. That'S how i do my bantu knots for my 4c hair, okay um, but i already know i need to trim i'm going to do that. My next wash day. I already knew that. So that's not my concern. I'M gon na show you guys my concern. Oh hell! No oh jesus right there. You see, i cut my hair when i was taking my locks out. I did cut my hair a couple times and mind you. I had to lock style a couple of different style times. I had the short ones, the long ones, the brown ones and every time i took the locks out, i cut like i cut my hair, just rushing and not taking my time and just pure stupidity. Y'All. Look at this. It'S uneven. I need to trim my ends. I'M stressed out, i work so hard on my hair to keep it healthy and for me to make mistakes like that. Look at this the front. I definitely cut the front by mistake. I remember. I think it was a couple of months ago when i was taking out my other locks um. I definitely cut it. It'S uneven. I need a trim. I need to cut so i don't know if i should go see a professional to cut it or if i should just cut it myself. What do you guys think should i go ahead and do it myself i feel like i can do it myself, but then what if i do more damage whatever and guys? The reason why i love bantu not so much is because when it's your hair is not the healthiest, no one will be able to tell for the most part, because it helps to blend your hair, and i just made sure to go in with that blue matching. On my ends, because ciao i need some help, i need help y'all. I can't believe i cannot believe i did this and i let my hair get this way so yeah yeah, i'm gon na, need your help ride with me. I'M gon na take some jamaican black castor oil to grease my um, not grease to oil. My scalp and i'm gon na yeah probably go on a black, castor oil um challenge y'all all right. So this is my what my face is looking like the next day, and i did my makeup. You know how to go, and yes, i do double cap when i go to sleep because i'm a wild sleeper and it usually comes out. So i always like to protect my hair with two scarves, just so that just in case one fell off, i'm good with the other one. You know what i'm saying so, i'm just taking down my hair right now and i'm like it looks okay. This is what the curls are looking like. It looks okay, but it's not as healthy as it used to be. I know my i know my hair. I can fake the funk. I can make it look good. I can make it look healthy, but i know i have a lot of work to do. I think i'm going to start the rice water challenge again, i'm going to go in with black, castor oil on my scalp every other night, probably just to get my hair back to healthy and i need to trim and i need to cut those dead ends. Y'All all right, so you know stay with me all right. I'M gon na get it together, not maybe not in this video, but maybe the next couple of videos. I will get it together y'all. This is the what it finally looks like like i said, i'm faking the funk right now. Um, my hair has looked better. I don't like it, i don't like it. I don't like it y'all. I don't like it. Let me know what you're thinking in the comment section guys. Please help us sister out, please don't forget to share like and subscribe to my channel. Thank you for writing with me. Thank you always for tuning in and if this is your first time welcome, i promise you my hair will look better okay if you're new here, i promise it'll, look better just just just um rile with me through this journey, all right and i'm just showing you Guys, the back i have longer strands some of my hair is longer than the other just uneven. My bantu knots, the curls started falling because i was sweating and you know i sweat in the scalp just a lot going on. It was a lot going on, but i'll make the best of it as usual. Y'All. Thank you so much for tuning in until next time, bye,

NaturallyMe: I’m going through the same thing. Had a protective style in my hair for months and just took it out. It’s so thin and damaged now. Now I have to go on a 6 month repair. I cut my ends, but I might go get a professional trim done and go from there.

Anna Akoto: Currently my hair Lowkey thought about shaving my head and starting all over

reallyme02: I'm dealing with breakage as well. Thank you for sharing!!

Darcey DeRosa: This is what I am dealing with. I have been doing protective styling and my hair is so dry. I am going to continue on with the protective styling until it's warmer.

Shapeshifter: I love your voice and personality. New subbie! I wish you well on your healthy hair journey - you got this! ❤️

Deidre Dawson: Thanks girl for sharing, I did the same thing with crochet braids I cut a whole braid out‍♀️ so disappointed in myself but I’m going to grow it back. I do not plan on cutting any of it at all. I’m going to just grow it out. Many blessings to you on your journey

Alveta Anderson: You asked for advice: I would urge you to go to a stylist to trim your hair. The stylist would give you an outside, independent assessment of your hair's condition, trim it thoroughly, and that's what you need. Secondly, I would reduce the protective styling. Thirdly I would carefully watch my diet and cook my own meals (you probably do this already) and move away from the vegetable and canola oils.

Nancy Purter: I'm just happy to see you back on YouTube...now the hair, it will grow back, just give it some TLC. ❤

The Yogi Editor: Your hair looks beautiful. I pray that you reach your hairi health goals.

ReigningGlory: It ain't bad! Your hair just needs a little nudge...that's it. It'll flourish to the spotlight soon enough!

Melanie Draughon: Happy New Year. I'm so glad that you're back. Design Essential line did nothing for my 4C hair. Maybe you can do bigger twists and Bantu knots. I learned the hard way. Protective styles are cute, but they do tend to make you lazy about the health of your own hair. You'll figure it out. I hope that you and your family are doing well.

ariel alexis: I’m personally convinced my hair hates me. I’ve gotten another bald patch it’s so irritating

Diamonds5PEARLS: Yes! I feel you. I’m not doing anything to my hair these days.

Denise Carter: I am so happy to see your back sis I have missed your tutorials!! I think you should go to a professional just for peace of mind that it's cut evenly. Your hair is definitely thick and has grown once the ends are clipped it will be fine.

LivingLifeAs_TClanton: Great video!!! I’ve come across this hair cars line but never tried it. I have 4C hair as well and always looking for products that work best on my texture. Thanks for sharing

Swt Suga: So glad you're back. Don't worry bout your crown you'll figure it out to get back poppin❤

Sheila Garcia: My hair stylist always blowdries my hair before braiding. I've noticed that my hair has lost the afro texture and it looks unhealthy even though it's perfectly trimmed. Any advice?

Madam Mitchel: Hey Waldia!!!! Welcome back!!! Try mixing some castor oil in your grease . You can also deep condition at least twice a month.

EloquentlyEse: Have you thought of trying Olaplex? It's on the pricey side, but it'll definitely get your hair in better shape! Maybe only get No 3 and the leave-in (use that before sealing with grease). Best of luck

EnlightenedMindTV Tarot: Girl this happens to the best of us . I trashed my hip length hair. Left braids up for 2mths . It got matted a nightmare on Elm street for real. Once the water hit it. I want to go back to sleep just to kick his a$$ .Girl cut your own hair.

Tee Sulli: First time here. Give it 3-6 months sis and it will bounce back with some TLC and patience during protective style takedown.

Yacessa O: Camila rose ultimate hair growth oil is amazing one week of moisturizing my scalp every other day and it was blossoming visibly which is hard to see. Especially if you’re in the 1st stage of the hair cycle

KC Wilder: Professional cut recommended for a good based to build back your hair . Also agree with the use of ayurvedic ingredients, I would recommend Fenugreek and Alma.

OJay88: Tbh, the broken spots do not look like you accidentally cut it. It would be more blunt. That is from ongoing damage. I'd let a professional cut the troubled spots because trying to style damaged hair is a pain in the butt. I just took off 2-3 inches from my hair because I was being stubborn and delayed my trim too long.

Smiling Face: I'm having issues with my hair being thin and minimal breakage due to crochet braids.

Cierrah P: Peppermint does provide a cooling, tingly effect on the skin.

Daphne Layton: Good to see you Waldia! Please see a professional first to start your journey to get your hair on.Good to see more of you

Edlande Mytil: Start off with a trim!!! Will make your ends look healthier

Erica W: I love it!! Ur hair turned out Great!!

Keshna Donia: Just catching up on your videos and seeing you did a protein treatment with Henna!!!

favorednatha226: Girl we are in the same boat. I have not been kind to my hair . I needed a trim months ago. I needed that blow dryer so thank you for showing it again.

lil QUEEN: I cut a whole braid off after having faux locs, 7 moths worth of growth down the drain. So sad

Ms. Pac: Braiders ripped my hair out...thats why im here

Ashley Wolff: I permed my hair 8 month ago and its really damaged and i dont know what to do...its breaking...it feels light its always tanglingeverything is a mess

Asia Lloyd: Lots of professionals do not recommend acv rinses

Erika Montgomery: I have worn locs for the past 4-5 months as well and had this same problem I only cut my hair once but the thinning through our my hair is weird it makes it looks like I have heat damage and I don’t... My twistouts were looking terrible. So of course I cut it but I feel like I need to cut more off cause I still have some straggly looking ends but won’t worry about it now since I’m getting color I’ll have fun for a bit and go back to being healthy later. I wouldn’t be in this boat if it wasn’t for the locs I’m still puzzled on why my hair reacted like this to them.

Shonte Gaines: My hair loves grease and I wish I could do makeup

Nik White: How is your hair? Try the water only method. It’s amazing. The products you are using, check the labels and google the damage they do. God bless you and your beautiful hair.

Mommy Needs A Time Out: Girl my hair is a mess as well . I’m either going to restore and loc it or shave it again

shauna G: I'm so glad your back girl. Your hair looks like it's grown though, its longer

karlean moss queen: I love your energized voice.

K Clark: lol I love your sense of humor and spirit !!

Wilmide Louis: Thx for posting this video I’ve been waiting for a good treatment shampoo/hair products I’m going to o check that brand out and your hair looks good sis you are so beautiful all natural I wish I had that hair lol much love to you and your family

Tracy ann Alexander: THANKS FOR INSPIRATION,BECAUSE I WAS GOING AN CUT MY HAIR IT IN A MESS,I AM NOT GIVING UP,BUTI WILL NOT GIVE UP

Zawana Johnson: It’s pretty I like it and it looks healthy ❤️

Silu: Same thing happened to me!!!

elsie m: Welcome back. Happy to see you ❤️❤️

Nichelle Loh: I thought ur hair turned out nicely ❤️! Happy holidays ⛄!

Warrior Queen4Christ!!!: Hi I'm dealing with hair damage Also and don't wanna have to Cut it Do You Suggest Any Tips for Breakage?? Hope So i Don't Have 2 Cut it?? & Small balled spot's Around my forehead?? PLEASE Tips Thanks

Abigail Williams: Ik I’m late but try the betonite clay mask as well

SB: I love Design Essentials Avocado line❤️

Jenny Nguermo: I think you did a good job with your hair

Pinky 801: I'm here for this journey.. so yes I click the subscribe. I need some treatment tips.

Sergey N: I recommend you look into fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.

J Elle Saint Cyr: Yesssss my girl is back

Dorothy Lisbon: I would recommend you look into fast hair growth fortified shampoo to double hair growth.

Sister Grace: U did bantu knots too small. Do them a little bigger to give as fuller look

s mcneil: Ur hair is beautiful. Just need some TLC

Jenny Lee: I hear olaplex is good for damage hair. I brought some to try

Mulenga Latim: I think it looks good

koitsme: Final look is really cute, but I suggest a professional. Just to get you back on the right track.

P Nutbutta: You should get a SERIOUS "CUT"! It is broken off and thin... Rice water adds too much protein....go to a stylist.....

Stacy Cunningham: im going with the rice water...maybe some eggs... i put super relaxer in my hair so... um yea

Latoya Murrell: You seem so unhappy about you hair in this video and it’s understandable but you hair didn’t break you cut it, i think u need a professional to assess the problem and come up with a better solution than you cutting you hair off. Im goin to buy the design essential products just because it has the peppermint in it. I have itchy scalp and peppermint is great for that. Thank you.

Kindzozo Döinghaus: I’m sorry but I had to laugh when you played the song at the back round you killed me

mswtaz94: I didn’t see any damage. Maybe some neglect. Probably should let a stylist trim it for you.

Nicole B: Go see a professional for a nice trim/cut!
