Hey guys, a very warm welcome back to my channel. If you are new here hi my name is kaizen suho. Don'T forget please to hit that subscribe button. If you enjoy this video, as well as my other haircare videos and if you're an oldie but a goodie, hey girl, hey, okay, guys, let's get started on today's video. So i know a lot of you guys have noticed the growth. Let'S give a moment of silence for the growth, so, as you guys can see, i have seen on social media. My hair has it's leveled up guys um, it's grown quite nicely. If you guys are not familiar with my hair journey. I'Ve been natural since 2012 and i decided to transition up until last year, christmas, which was 2019 on the witness christmas 25th of december somewhere around there. On that day i decided i am done, and i am chopping this hair down girl. So i will add pictures to show you guys how long my hair was and how short my hair became when i did my big chop um and since then, until now what has happened? I know a lot of you guys think that the growth is crazy. I'M also really surprised by the growth, because obviously it was my first time ever doing a big chop, so i just wanted to jump onto the camera to tell you guys how i managed to get this level of growth from my big chop. I didn't necessarily want to make it a video just about my hair growth. They really the story. Isn'T that elaborate? I didn't just want to come onto the camera and talk to you guys about my six month. Hair growth, hair growth journey. I also just wanted to enrich the video a bit more by talking about how i'm taking care of my hair during winter, especially because hair salons are kind of kind of not open. So a lot of us are left to our own devices with our hair and some of us. It might be our first time dealing with our hair and you guys might not even know where to begin. So that's essentially what this video is going to be about. My big top journey over the past six months, as well as how i take care of my hair in winter and the tips that i can give you cool. So, as i mentioned i baked up in december - and i have a video about my big chop - which i will show you guys on the screen so that you can go and check it out a couple of i wan na say like a couple of weeks after I big chopped, i really felt remorse. I would look at myself in the mirror and the shrinkage would be real and i'd be like. Oh, what have i done and i think the biggest concern for me was - and i mentioned this also in my big shot. Video is, did i mess up like my opportunities for collaboration or whatever, and, as i mentioned in my big shop video, it was important for me to start this journey from the bottom for authenticity to make sure that when i talk about how to grow your hair, You guys actually know that i've grown my hair and you're, not just saying oh, it's genetics or oh it's whatever. You can see right now on the camera. My hair has grown. It wasn't this long now it is, we can put it in a nice pineapple you've. Now seen me live through the growth, but apart from my regrets on some days, which i think was very very important because it's made me really appreciate the hair growth journey and because i do think that i partially did take it for granted. Because i didn't start off in a big chop, i transitioned, so i never had the issue of how do i style my hair when it's short um shrinkage is real. I never had those issues you know and then, when i chopped it all off, i was like. Oh, so this is what the struggle's about, and it was very, very eye opening. So what i did after i baked chopped is, i did wear my hair in its natural state some days and i'll show you guys a picture of how it looked when it was in its natural state and um. I think when it was around obviously christmas time when i was on leave, but when i went back to work i was like girl, you need a fix. I wanted to make sure that i could still wear my hair out and be confident so what i started doing was. I actually started braiding my hair and doing like a braid out, but that got unsustainable because i would have to braid my hair and unbraid. My hair almost every single day, because my hair was that short, it wasn't retaining the length that i was comfortable with at least and then i was like okay so like what are we gon na do now so um for more and more weeks, i started to Just wear it in this natural stretch state, so the calls would have been long gone by then that he would have been a little bit shorter, but still looking a bit cute and then um. I went on my annual research trip and that obviously forced me to get braids so towards. Like the middle of january, i got braids up until locked down, i had those braids and then during the last week of march i can say i took the braids out. I think, if i'm following these timelines correctly so since lock down my hair has been like this and, as i mentioned to you guys in all of my videos, protective styling for me is the key to hair growth apart from genetics and having a healthy diet. Honestly, honestly, honestly, protective styling helps my hair growth, because you don't manipulate it as much. Therefore, it doesn't break as often and you get to retain your length. So that's what's worked for me, um and if you don't know how i protective style, it's so simple guys. You basically just braid your hair um. I braid it in like four or five sections, four or five sections, and i would be keeping it like that from wash day to wash day, i just wanna encourage you when you protect the style, your hair, please please, please make sure that you moisturize it throughout The week, especially now in winter and just like facing my scalp with oil, was not working anymore, so i needed to just up the antsy on my moisture and now what i do is when my scalp starts getting a bit, you know dry or feels dry. My hair starts to look, not shiny, then i would basically moisturize during the week the products that i'm literally literally literally living on and loving right now, from a moisture perspective, i always talk about a triple stack right. You have to hydrate your hair and then you have to apply moisturizer and then you may seal it. So these are the three things that i use and um. This is literally all i need, if i'm not in a wash day, and i'm talking about like that moisture retention between wash days, it's literally just water. This is my spray bottle. I'Ll put some hot water in here sit in front of my heater and just spray. My hair, not until it's completely drenched, but until it's stamped and then i will go in with this. This is like the high most highly requested product um that you guys have asked me about. This. Is the jamaican black, castor oil that i use? It is by a brand called jamaican mango and lime. I hope you guys can't see how messy and sticky this bottle looks. Hopefully i hope i'm the only one that can see the states it's in, but i use the original one and it basically says it helps strengthen hair replenishes rejuvenates nourishes i mentioned in my hair growth video that this is what i use in winter, and i tried To go without it and guys, i must say my hair was crying and begging for moisture. Now that i've gotten back to using my jbco, my hair, has been poppin like i literally run my fingers through my hair right now, and i can actually feel it's moisturize. There'S no crackling sound, it just feels it feels juicy and then i actually went out - and i got this thing this product - that i used to use way back in the day um i needed something that was super super thick and affordable, and it was between the I always talk about which one the nail article one on my channel, i went - and i grabbed this one from afro botanics and it is called the african triple butter. It'S got baby oil marula oil moringa oil. Oh, this is an ogee like literally i've. I'Ve been using this, probably before, oh in my first year of working so around 2015, i started using this product 2015 2016 and when my hair's crying for moisture these two products right here, they have never. Let me down literally my holy grail for winter hair care. Um and i use them also on wash day and guys, they retain moisture like a bomb, especially if you have low porosity hair and you need to manipulate your hair to retain that moisture. This helps obviously, along with what do you call this moisture treatments like deep conditioning your hair that assists, but obviously your hair does lose a lot of moisture, while it's being protective style than waiting for the next wash day. These are the things or these three of the three products that i use for my hair, one is free, the other one is around 100 grand, but a little goes a long way, so the bottle lasts you for a very long time and this yo guys. I can't i don't even know why i even forgot about this product this product by every botanics is a shirt like it's the ish, it's the bomb.com, it's the girl that it thinks it is, and also it says, no mineral oil, no petulatum, paraphernalim liquidum, no placenta. No hormones, 100, goodness in a tub, so those are essentially the things that i've been using on my hair in order to get my hair back on the mend, obviously deep conditioning your hair also helps don't skip out of your deep conditioners in winter. I know that it's cold and you actually feel really really cold washing your hair, and i want to encourage you, while i'm encouraging myself at the same time, to not skip out on deep conditioning, deep conditioning your hair. Over and above that always keep hydrated it's winter. And i know that we sometimes don't drink as much water, because you're drinking tea or coffee remember those are not substitutes for water. Go to the corporate girls channel. What'S your channel on youtube foot corporate go, follow her on instagram and then find her youtube channel. She will give you all the nutritional things, so i say these products plus fit corporate goals, nutritional tips, um plus genetics to a certain degree - and this is the hair growth you're going to get after six months. Now, i'm just joking. Obviously, there are a lot more factors, but those for me are the top three factors that contributed to my hair growth. Thank you so much for following my journey. Thank you so much for your encouragement and i hope you guys enjoyed this video and i hope that you found it useful if you have any other haircare questions or there's something specifically that you want me to address on my channel with regards to natural hair drop.
